* Beth's moment with Mr. Laurence when she goes next door to thank him for the letter.
--> "All his crustiness vanished; he just set her on his knee, and laid his wrinkled cheek against her rosy one, feeling as if he had got his own little granddaughter back again."
* Mr. March's return from the war at the end of Part I. He surprises his family by coming home on Christmas Day, when they hadn't expected him until after New Year's, and is greeted by a flurry of hugs and happy tears, with Beth, who is still so weak from scarlet fever that she usually barely walks, jumping up and running to meet him. Then, after their joyful holiday dinner, he praises each of the girls in turn for the positive growth he sees in their characters since he last saw them, which is the very hope he expressed in his letter the previous Christmas.
** The 1994 film's version of the Christmas scene has Mr. Laurence present when Beth gets the gift of the new piano (in the book she receives it earlier and Mr. Laurence isn't there for the reveal). She collapses crying into his arms with thanks, and begins to play "Deck the Halls" for everyone. And the whole room sings along. Even Aunt March. It's the only time in the film she smiles.
* Laurie's compliment to Beth while Marmee is chiding Amy for her conceit after the "limes" incident.
--> "I knew a girl, once, who had a really remarkable talent for music, and she didn't know it; never guessed what sweet little things she composed when she was alone, and wouldn't have believed it if anyone had told her."
* In the film Mr. Bhaer says that he's not worthy to marry Jo because his hands are empty. Jo is quick to take them and say "Not empty now." Cue the BigDamnKiss under the UmbrellaOfTogetherness in the HappyRain! (It gets better: "Not empty now" is lifted straight from the book.)
* Fritz Bhaer, period. Say what you want about Jo/Laurie or the lack of it -- that man earns his happy ending in magnificent fashion. After all the waiting, all the hoping -- he's been a bachelor for years, after all -- he finally finds love and finally gets his girl. And it is beautiful.
** Jo, too. She feels very lonely growing up, and limited by her gender and her family not really understanding her literary ambitions. She falls in love with Bhaer because she feels she can grow with him and expand her craft. Many literary-minded real-life women have admitted to find this romance plausible since often, they tended to crush on men like Bhaer in their lives more often than "Lauries"- intellectually minded, with similar literary interests; not the handsomest of men but very well-meaning and supportive.
** The 1994 film has a scene where they go to the opera together and are about to kiss when something interrupts them. Instead of awkwardly changing tack, they laugh and then kiss for real.
** Fritz also lobbies to have the other men let Jo have a chance to speak when they're discussing whether women should be given the vote. They're impressed by her speech, and one of them smiles as he says Jo should have been a lawyer. Jo returns the smile and says "I should have been a great many things".
* A lot of Meg and John's scenes together, whether before or after they're married. Notable is when Meg realizes she does love John after all when she finds herself defending his lack of wealth passionately from Aunt March. Daww.
* Laurie and Amy name their daughter after Beth.
* Jo realizes her temper is completely out of control when her sneaky attempt to let Amy get hurt on the rotten ice as she skated went too far. They make up:
-->"Everything was forgiven and forgotten in one hearty kiss."
** And in the 1994 film, there's a cute scene where Amy is in bed recovering as Jo is rewriting her manuscript. Amy remembers a passage Jo had forgotten. It shows she's really trying to make amends.
** The live-capture of the musical adaptation has Amy mention that she even tried recreating it. When she couldn't do that, she tried drawing Jo a nice picture.
* In Part II, Meg is convinced by Sally to buy silk for a new dress even though it's expensive and John needs a new coat. This leads to a minor TearJerker where John lets Meg know how hurt he feels that she wishes she could have nice things and it's his fault for not being able to give them to her, but is still willing to give up his new coat so she can have her dress. But it turns around when Meg later reveals she's sold the silk to Sally and bought John his coat instead, because she cares more about the husband she loves than a dress. Their twin children are conceived soon afterward.
* In the 2019 film, right before her wedding to John, Meg is offered a chance to run away by Jo. She turns it down immediately, because she loves John and can't imagine a life without him.
