* Ven finding a frightened Snow White in the woods and comforting her. Boy knows what to say to make you feel okay.
** Snow White gets a small moment later when Ventus defends Terra from the Dwarfs accusations. Snow White agrees to give Terra the benefit of the doubt, she's just that kind.
* Even though some people said Terra's first scene with Cinderella is narmy, it's actually both heartwarming and tear jerking because for about one or two seconds, Terra genuinely makes a saddened expression after Cinderella told him what happened to her. It's clear he can understand her sadness. Specifically, he feels sad when a dream like Cinderella's is crushed.
** Also if you're not smiling after he's escorted Cinderella to the ball and Terra smiles and motions for her to enter the dance room, you must be a Heartless.
* The scene in Radiant Garden where Ventus runs off after the Trinity Armor. This is shortly after he meets Dilan and Aeleus, the guards of the castle. When Ventus sees the Trinity Armour, Dilan and Aeleus prepare to go fight it, but Ventus runs ahead of them and says "Leave it to me", prompting Aeleus and Dilan to both shout "Stop!" and "But you're just a child!" in concern. Now, considering that this is a kid they just met, and knowing how evil these two will eventually become, it kind of warms a player's heart knowing that before they became Evil Scientists, they were good people.
* "I'll see ya when I see ya. After all, we're friends now. Get it memorized." There are many, many ways to interpret what this line will come to mean, but all of them are completely heartwarming.
* The scene with young Kairi and her grandmother, with the grandmother telling her the story from the original Kingdom Hearts. Very nostalgic.
** The best part might be that the grandmother is voiced by Kathryn Beaumont, who completely knocks it out of the park, breathing life into the story. Kathryn was hand-picked by Creator/WaltDisney, Kathryn was there during the "age of fairy tales", and here she is recounting the story of the light that lives in the hearts of children. It's truly glorious.
* Kairi and Aqua's scene is more adorable in the Japanese version since Kairi actually addresses Aqua with "Onee-chan", an affectionate way to address a big sister figure.
* A fact confirmed by Tetsuya Nomura (series creator) is that the charm that Aqua put on Kairi is what lead Kairi to the Destiny Islands. It's sweet in the form that it would lead Kairi to another person of "strong light", being Sora.
* At the end of Terra's visit to Olympus Colosseum, he says that he's not a hero after saving Zack from Hades. Zack bluntly tells him that's not up to him and has him listen to the cheers of the Colosseum's audience, saying that Terra is not only their hero, but his as well. In a game filled with people either trying to manipulate him into evil or looking over his shoulder out of fear he's slipping, it's refreshing to see someone having a simple and uncomplicated admiration for Terra.
* Ven's stay in Olympus Coliseum is really heartwarming; especially the end, when he, Zack, and Herc are "confirmed" good friends and goof off a little. It's interesting because, if you're one of the people who see Ven, Terra, and Aqua as a family, these are some of his first friends. And since this follows a small depression-moment in which he lost his trust in Terra and Aqua, seeing him upbeat again is all sorts of endearing.
** Phil telling Ven that he really believes in Hercules and knows he can become a true hero, he just needed a little push to get there and Ven was a big part of that.
* ALL of Aqua and Zack's interactions. Zack just introduces himself to her very eagerly, they talk, and he is just very friendly with her. Hades shows up to fight, and he offers to be her back up in the finales (and respects her when she turns the offer down). Finally, it ends with him asking for a date. While she turns him down, she is VERY flustered and even holds her hand over her heart. Zack respects that too, makes a deal, and runs off. Herc runs up and asks why Aqua is so red. Zack Fair, everyone. The only person who can make Aqua blush.
** Even better in Everglow's edit of the scene; the music is replaced with Aerith's theme when Zack asks Aqua out on a date.
* Thanks to Ventus, Stitch escapes and manages to, somehow, find his way to Hollow Bastion... where he later kicks all of the Heartless butt in the Battle. The only reason he knows all this compassion? He met three kind people who became his friends. It's implied, after playing Birth By Sleep, that Stitch only landed on the computer in front of Sora because he thought that he was Ven.
* Everything with adorable kid!Sora. Literally everything.
* In Terra's story, when Terra goes to Destiny Islands and meets Riku. The conversation between the two was very heartwarming, especially since Riku kept his promise not to tell anyone, eleven years later.
* Terra performing the keyblade inheritance ceremony with Riku. He sees the immense potential Riku has, and barring a few missteps along the way, Riku goes to prove his instincts right.
--> "In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be. And you will find me, friend, no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love."
* Aqua's visit in Destiny Islands was pretty heartwarming.
-->Aqua: So then, if something happens, and Riku's about to get lost... or say... he starts wandering down a dark path alone -- you make sure to stay with him, and keep him safe. That's your job, Sora, and I'm counting on you to do it, okay?
* In the Keyblade Graveyard, Ventus, Terra and Aqua reunite. Given what just happened, it's a somber moment but there is this heartwarming scene where Ventus tells them about the X-blade. Terra puts a hand on Ventus' shoulder and says, "We're going to take care of you." Aqua crouches to be eye-level with him and touches his cheek. Whether you see Terra and Aqua as his closet friends, surrogate siblings or surrogate parents, it is a touching combination of protection and comfort.
* The very end of Terra's story has Terra being reduced to nothing more than willpower lingering within his suit of armor. As he kneels, he has but one thought remaining.
-->Terra: Aqua. Ven. One day, I will set this right.
* Ventus describing Sora's heart as "so warm". That sums up Sora perfectly - throughout the games, he's always been such a cheerful beacon of hope, ready to help anyone out, even letting others into his body and never giving up on those he calls friends -- or even those he really doesn't.
* In Xehanort's Report 10, Master Xehanort describes taking Ven to Destiny Islands when his heart began slipping away. His motive? "The boy deserved a place to spend his final moments peacefully. And what should come to mind but my own boyhood home." The idea that even though he caused Ven's condition to begin with, he still seems to care about his former apprentice enough to want him to rest in a proper place.
* At the end of Aqua's story, Mickey finds Ven and Aqua out in the Lanes Between and uses the Star Shard to take them to safety. It's small, but very sweet.
* Mickey saves Aqua at the end of the game. The first thing he does - go back to his master for help as there's nobody more experienced. Sure, he stole something and ran away, but whatever punishment he gets is worth it to save his friend. Mickey's grown and changed as a person - the most important thing is keeping Aqua and Ven safe.
* The final ending is pure TearJerker, but there's one part that becomes this in hindsight: Aqua's HeroicSacrifice. Even though she had to know saving Terra meant saving Xehanort as well, she cared about the former more than she hated the latter, enough to go to the Realm of Darkness in his place.
* Aqua being snapped out of her suicidal depression by Terra and Ven's keyblades appearing to save her and doing a fly by before vanishing as if to tell her "We'll always be with you so you need to live on for us." After this Aqua is able to smile again, after what is implied to be TEN YEARS wandering the Realm of Darkness.
-->Aqua: There's always a way.
** The little scene that plays as Aqua looks at her Wayfinder and remembers every person she met on her journey, from the Land of Departure to the Destiny Island trio. Everyone who appears smiles right at the player. Their smile looks like they want to assure the player that no matter how bleak the ending is, everything will be alright. Next time when you get depressed, try to remember the smile of your loved ones, and you may get better.
* Doubles as a SugarWiki/CrowningMomentOfAwesome. It doesn't matter if Ven (who's currently comatose) and Terra (who's currently trapped in his own body while another controls it) are both indisposed, they'll still find a way to make sure Aqua is safe. Both of them were able to magically transport their Keyblades to the realm of darkness to not only one-shot Darksides and save Aqua, but also give her the will to live again.
* In the final credits, Mickey renounces the Star Shard and his Keyblade in shame over not being able to stop what happened and for stealing them and running away while Donald and Goofy look on sadly; then, he walks away to leave. Yen Sid reacts in surprise and gives an "Excuse me, what the fuck are you doing?" look without Mickey knowing. Rising and carrying the Keyblade back to his apprentice, he kindly gives the Keyblade back to him, exonerating him of any wrongdoing and it's implied Mickey passed his Keyblade Master exam; all Donald and Goofy can do is cheer in delight. It's the first - and, so far, only - time that Yen Sid actually smiles.
* There's a small, but significant scene at the end of the final credits that plays. The four-year-old Sora calls out to Ventus' heart, and accepts him within his own heart despite Ventus being a complete stranger. Now do you see why we all want to give Kid!Sora hugs? Lots and lots of hugs.
** Ventus finds himself back within the comfort of a young Sora's heart. Sora then asked if Ventus was sad and Ventus asked if he could stay with Sora. Very heartwarming in the end.
** Made even more HeartwarmingInHindsight, as it was Sora's heart that healed Ventus' at the beginning of the game when the latter's was fading away after being separated from Vanitas.
* In part one of the secret ending, young Ienzo and Ansem the Wise are seen walking down a hall, eating ice-cream while holding hands. D'awwwwww... Especially when considered that, according to Even, Ienzo lost his parents and Ansem the Wise and the others at the castle adopted him. Thus, Ansem is pretty much his surrogate father now.
* In the secret ending, when we see that not only can the main trio be saved, but also Roxas, Xion, and Namine in Sora's next journey. It moves Aqua and nearly every player to tears.
* Pretty much any time the song "Destiny's Union" plays. The song is re-used in Dream Drop Distance, as well as in 2.5's version of Re:Codeds ending.
