* Any trailer where at least one of the quotations read in the EveryEpisodeEnding are of an actor or entertainer who recently passed away:
** In honor of the late Creator/RobinWilliams, the phrases read by the narrator at the end of the trailer for ''Film/CaptainAmericaTheWinterSoldier'' were all iconic phrases from Williams' movies.
** The next week (''Film/{{Ghostbusters|1984}}'') one of the phrases read at the end was "It's ''Series/SaturdayNightLive''!" in honor of that show's late announcer Don Pardo.[[note]]A bit of BeamMeUpScotty is in effect here, as Pardo's famous quote was actually "Live from New York, it's ''Saturday Night''!"[[/note]]
** And at the end of the next Honest Trailer (WebVideo/CinemaSins' ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan2'' trailer notwithstanding), for ''Film/{{Godzilla 2014}}'', one of the phrases at the end of that trailer was "Welcome... to Film/JurassicPark!" in memory of Richard Attenborough, who played the park's creator John Hammond in the film.
** At the end of the trailer for ''Film/TheHungerGamesMockingjayPart1'', released four days after Creator/LeonardNimoy's passing, every quote read at the end was dialogue said by or about [[Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries Spock]] in honor of Nimoy's [[IAmNotSpock most iconic character]].
** The ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory1'' trailer, released several days after Creator/ChristopherLee's passing, had all the lines read by Epic Voice Guy at the end be quotations from Lee's films.
** The ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' trailer honored Creator/SatoruIwata by reading out his keynote from GDC 2005: "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." Also, they credit M. Bison as "RIP Creator/RaulJulia", referring to his role as Bison in the ''Film/StreetFighter'' film.
** The ''Film/RockyIV'' trailer honored the recently deceased ''Creator/StanLee'' by having all the requested epic voice clips be direct quotes from Lee. Doubly heartwarming since these also came by popular request.
** The first two quotes at the end of the ''Film/FantasticFour2005'' trailer were in honor of Wrestling/RoddyPiper, who had died several days before. Notably, one of them was the famous ChewBubblegum quote from ''Film/TheyLive'', which had been butchered as "[[RougeAnglesOfSatin chem bubblegum]]" in a previous trailer.
** Creator/WesCraven was honored at the end of the trailer for ''Film/TheHappening'' by having all the quotations at the end relate to his films, with the last one being "Thanks for the nightmares."
** As a tribute to Lemmy from Music/{{Motorhead}}, the first line at the end of ''Film/TheMartian''[='=]s trailer was this lyric from Motörhead's song "Music/{{Ace of Spades}}": ''I don't share your greed / The only card I need is / [[TitleDrop the Ace of Spaces, the Ace of Spades]].''
** ''Film/PearlHarbor'':
*** Music/DavidBowie was honored at the end of the trailer, having the last three quotations being lyrics from his songs. Fittingly, the very next Honest Trailer after ''Pearl Harbor'' was for ''Film/{{Labyrinth}}''.
*** The "Starring" section includes an "Also Not Starring..." for some of the RealLife heroes of Pearl Harbor: Kenneth Taylor and George Welch,[[note]]A pair of buddy fighter pilots, not unlike Creator/BenAffleck and Creator/JoshHartnett's respective characters in the movie, who fought in the battle and took down six Japanese airplanes together.[[/note]] Alice and Dean Darrow,[[note]]A nurse and fighter pilot who met when she treated him after the battle and who married each other.[[/note]] Annie Fox,[[note]]The first woman in the United States military to earn a Purple Heart.[[/note]] and "literally anyone else who was at Pearl Harbor."
** The ''Labyrinth'' trailer also had its own tribute to Creator/AlanRickman, as all but one of the lines read at the end of that trailer were lines Rickman said in his films. The one line Rickman had ''not'' said was: "[[Film/DieHard Happy trails, Hans]]."
** The ''Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld'' trailer had a brief tribute to deceased modern-day WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes voice actor Joe Alaskey: "You're dethspicable".
** The second ''Series/GameOfThrones'' trailer commemorated Music/{{Prince}}; in addition to having the lyrics to "When Doves Cry" read out by Epic Voice Guy as the final quote, the second-to-last quote was "Goodnight sweet Prince".
** The ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'' trailer ended with the narrator saying "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" as a tribute to UsefulNotes/MuhammadAli, who died a few days before the trailer was uploaded.
** The ''Film/{{Pixels}}'' trailer gave tribute to Creator/AntonYelchin, who died in a car accident a few days before the trailer was uploaded, with the lines "I can do zat!" and "Ensign Authorization code: nine-five-wiktor-wiktor-two!", both from his first appearance as Pavel Chekov in ''Film/StarTrek2009''.
** The final quote at the end of the ''Film/{{Gladiator}}'' trailer was "That was the droid I was looking for" in honor of Kenny Baker, famous for portraying R2-D2 in the ''Franchise/StarWars'' films, who died the weekend before the trailer was released.
** The trailer for ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheKillingJoke'' closed with four quotes from Creator/GeneWilder, who died the day before it was uploaded: "[[Film/WillyWonkaAndTheChocolateFactory The snozzberries taste like snozzberries]]", "YOU GET NOTHING!!! YOU LOSE!!! GOOD DAY, SIR!!!", "[[Film/TheProducers I'm in pain and I'm wet and I'm still hysterical!]]", and "We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams."
** The trailer for ''Film/ThePrincessBride'' had a two-fer tribute: "[[Film/ANewHope Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?]]" and "[[Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerfherder!]]" for Creator/CarrieFisher, and "[[Film/SinginInTheRain Good morning! Good morning! It's great to stay up late!]]" for her mother, Creator/DebbieReynolds.
** The trailer for ''Film/{{Aliens}}'' has two dedications. The first is a (belated) one for Creator/BillPaxton, who passed away three months before the trailer was released, with a quote from the movie, "Game over, man, game over!", and one for Creator/PowersBoothe, who died a few days before the trailer was released, with the quote "[[Film/SinCity Power don't come from a badge or a gun, power comes from lying]].
** The trailer for ''Film/{{Logan}}'' quotes "[[Film/CasinoRoyale2006 The coldest blood runs through my veins. You know my name.]]" in tribute to Music/ChrisCornell of Music/{{Soundgarden}} and Music/{{Audioslave}}, who died a week ago.
** The final quote for ''Film/Catwoman2004'' was "Goodnight, Mr. Bond" for Creator/RogerMoore, who died the week before.

** The actual Honest Trailer for ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan2''[[labelnote:Note]](not the one done by ''WebVideo/CinemaSins'')[[/labelnote]] included the quote "[[Film/JohnWick They call him Baba Yaga]]" as a tribute to Michael Nyqvist, who passed away a week before the Honest Trailer was released.
** The first quote read in the ''Film/{{Memento}}'' trailer was from a Creator/GeorgeRomero film in honor of the late filmmaker.

** One of the quotes in the Franchise/EvilDead trilogy trailer was "Uh, just a drink. A martini, shaken, not stirred." in honor of Creator/SeanConnery.
** The first quote for the ''VideoGame/{{Omori}}'' trailer was a famous quote from ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'' in honor of Creator/KentaroMiura. "That thing was too big to be called a sword. Too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron."
** The trailer for the ''Series/{{Jackass}}'' movies includes a quote from [[WesternAnimation/{{Aladdin}} Iago]] in honor of Creator/GilbertGottfried.
** The last quote in ''Film/SonicTheHedgehog22022'''s trailer was ''[[Film/{{Goodfellas}} "You're a pistol, you're really funny. You're really funny."]]'' in honor of Creator/RayLiotta.
** The trailer for ''Film/JurassicWorldDominion'' has [[WesternAnimation/TheLittleMermaid1989 "Poor unfortunate souls. In pain. In need."]] in honor of Creator/PatCarroll, the voice of Ursula.
** The trailer for ''WesternAnimation/{{Pocahontas}}'' includes quotes such as [[Recap/BatmanTheAnimatedSeriesE3NothingToFear "I am Vengeance, I am the Night, I.. Am.. BATMAN!"]], [[Recap/JusticeLeagueS2E5And6OnlyADream "I have one power: I never give up"]], [[WesternAnimation/BatmanMaskOfThePhantasm "Thanks for the handkerchief, Arthur"]] and [[WesternAnimation/BatmanMaskOfThePhantasm "I know I made a promise, but I didn't see this coming. I didn't count on being happy."]], in honor of Creator/KevinConroy.
** The first quote for ''Film/{{Hancock}}'' has [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers "I need Dragonzord Power, now!"]] in honor of Creator/JasonDavidFrank.
** One of the quotes for ''Series/{{Andor}}'' was [[Film/DieHard "Oh my god, the quarterback is toast!"]] in honor of Creator/ClarenceGilyard.
** The first quote for ''Series/TheLastOfUs2023'' was "This is not Toys-Are-Us. This is Toys-Are-Me.", in honor of Creator/LanceReddick.
** The Honest Trailer for ''Brokeback Mountain'' included "Now you take home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby, you've got a stew going." (in honor of Creator/CarlWeathers) and "Red Solo Cup. I fill you up. Let's have a party." (in honor of Music/TobyKeith).
** The first quote for ''Film/RoadHouse1989'' was [[Franchise/DragonBall "KAMEHAMEHA!"]], in honor of Creator/AkiraToriyama.
* In the Honest Trailer for ''Film/Ghostbusters1984'', Egon, played by Creator/HaroldRamis, who had died in February 2014, shortly before the trailer was made, is credited as "[[TearJerker Egon, but not forgotten]]." In the Honest Trailer for ''Ghostbusters II'', he is once again honored as "Harold Ra-missed."
* In the Honest Trailer for ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'', the narrator states that the game has the biggest challenge in videogame history: [[TearJerker Keeping it together during the giraffe scene.]] Said clip from the game is played, with the narrator trying his best not to cry.
* In the Honest Trailer for ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994'', there are comparisons drawn between that movie and ''WesternAnimation/{{Frozen|2013}}''. The punchline to this?
-->'''Narrator:''' ''[about ''Frozen'']'' [[SugarWiki/GushingAboutShowsYouLike I knew there was a reason I liked that movie!]]
* Likewise, the narrator says that ''WesternAnimation/TheLEGOMovie'' being MerchandiseDriven is just inevitable, not inherently negative or damaging to the film, and feels that he wants to buy some Legos after doing the trailer. The narrator even remembers it fondly in the ''WesternAnimation/{{Minions}}'' trailer as an example of how "even shameless marketing can be fun," whereas ''Minions'' for him is just a "cynical studio branding exercise."
* This part in ''Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay'':
-->'''Narrator:''' Big movies these days have all become about special effects! When all we really want is a good story... about a hero ''[sniff]'' who gives his life ''[whimper]'' to save the world... ''[as John and the T-800 hug]'' ...even if it means leaving behind... ''sob''... the only people who ever loved him... ''[breaks down crying as Sarah hugs John]'' What? [[SandInMyEyes I'm not crying! You're crying!]] It's just a big dumb action movie! Stop Looking At Me!
* The ''[[Film/TheFastAndTheFurious Furious 7]]'' trailer compliments the, surprisingly, very heartfelt and tasteful way the film handled the death of Paul Walker and said goodbye to his character.
-->'''Narrator:''' Wow, I honestly never expected a ''Fast and Furious'' movie to make me cry. That was really well done. ''[referring to the transition to the "Starring" list]'' So... this is an awkward transition...
* The ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron'' trailer cites Creator/JossWhedon's CreatorBreakdown over the film, and sympathizes with him.
-->'''Narrator:''' [Joss Whedon] does his best to meet unrealistic nerd expectations [...] and fit in Creator/{{Disney}}'s corporate [[{{Dualvertisement}} cross-promotion]], in a juggling act so insanely difficult, he turned down [[Film/AvengersInfinityWar the sequel]], quit Website/{{Twitter}}, and doesn't have any new films in development. Oh, um, guys? [[IThinkYouBrokeHim I think we just broke Joss Whedon.]] He needs a hug.
* Epic Voice Guy crying as he describes Bing Bong in the ''WesternAnimation/InsideOut'' trailer.
* In the ''Film/DieHard'' trailer:
** The entire trailer is they just completely gushing about how great the movie is, with Epic Voice Guy even chiding those who thought they would rip on a movie this awesome.
** Also the part with them praising Creator/AlanRickman for hitting the ground running with Hans Gruber, a fantastic villain that was Rickman's first major film role. This became more notable in that the trailer was made shortly ''before'' Rickman died.
* Putting together a trailer for ''Film/{{Labyrinth}}'' in just a week after Music/DavidBowie's death. Epic Voice Guy even starts out by saying they never thought they'd do this one, but needed an excuse to talk about how awesome Bowie was.
* After receiving several requests for it, the narrator says that the Honest Trailer for ''Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld'' was made "only because it's Valentine's Day, and we love you, alright?"[[note]]The trailer was released on February 9, 2016.[[/note]]
* The ''Insurgent'' trailer was the first after the 2016 UsefulNotes/{{Academy Awards ceremon|ies}}y. The last quote read at the end was "Yay! Creator/{{Leo|nardoDicaprio}} won an Oscar!"
* In the ''Film/Batman1989'' trailer:
** Creator/MichaelKeaton's casting as Batman is called "one of the best superhero castings of all time".
** There's even a compliment paid to [[Film/SuicideSquad2016 Jared Leto's Joker]].
** Bob the Goon is listed as "Creator/JackNicholson's Buddy, who Nicholson insisted on being in the movie or he wouldn't do it".
* While he finds many things to mock about ''Film/TheRevenant'', when it comes to the "Starring" part, the narrator credits Creator/LeonardoDiCaprio as "UsefulNotes/AcademyAward winner Leonardo [=DiCaprio=]," and then adds, "[[Main/IAlwaysWantedToSayThat Oh, it feels so good to say that]]!"
* The end of ''WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook1967'' trailer has it being compared to ''WesternAnimation/{{Talespin}}''. Epic Voice Guy adds that while the former was ok, the latter was "''freaking awesome!''"
* ''Film/BatmanVSupermanDawnOfJustice'':
** Admitting that despite the outcry over Creator/BenAffleck as Batman, he wound up being awesome, and probably the best part of the movie. They also praise Creator/GalGadot for her performance as Wonder Woman, noting that she was very underused in the movie.
** Acknowledging that [=BvS=] had some cool moments that its harshest critics were too ashamed to admit were enjoyable and that its biggest flaw was putting too many good elements into a single film.
** If you look at the footage closely enough, you'll see that they targeted the better-received Ultimate Edition instead of the critically-panned theatrical cut. Despite all the jabs at the film's expense (such as criticizing the "Martha" twist and using the meme it inspired three times), they at least made the effort to target the film when it was at its best.
* For ''Film/{{Watchmen}}'', the narrator praises the cast for doing justice to their comic-book counterparts (except for Malin Åkerman) and gives special mention to Creator/JackieEarleHaley for nailing [[EnsembleDarkhorse Rorschach]].
* For ''Film/TheJungleBook2016'', the narrator basically spends the rest of the video ''gushing'' about the film, with only a few, minor nitpicks that doesn't stop his praise.
* For ''Film/Ghostbusters2016'', the narrator admits that while the movie ended up not being good, it still wasn't as horrible as everyone who made up their minds months in advance said it was going to be. TheStinger also defends the movie on the grounds that if you didn't like it, don't watch it and keep on stepping, and that there is ''no'' excuse for going after the cast for being in a mediocre movie. This is no doubt at least partly referring to the racist, sexist Twitter troll attack on Leslie Jones following the movie's release. Like ''Batman v. Superman'', this trailer also relied on the Extended Version, which attempted to address some of the theatrical cut's issues with continuity and characterization.
* For ''WesternAnimation/FindingDory'', the narrator spends most of the trailer calling the movie an inferior cash-in of ''Finding Nemo''. However, when Dory reunites with her parents, the announcer audibly starts sobbing.
-->'''Narrator:''' Damn you, Pixar, Even your B-material makes me cry!
* Despite generally hating ''Film/SuicideSquad2016'', the Honest Trailer praises the performances of Creator/WillSmith, Creator/MargotRobbie and even Creator/JaiCourtney, the latter of which they've been quoted as saying ''"is never going to happen"''.
* Likewise, despite clear disdain toward the ''VideoGame/CallOfDuty'' franchise (made obvious when seeing the ''VideoGame/ModernWarfare'' and ''VideoGame/CallOfDutyBlackOps'' trailers), the narrator actually praising ''VideoGame/CallofDutyInfiniteWarfare'''s campaign, calling it "a step in the right direction".
* Offhandedly calling ''Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack'' a "perfect movie".
* In the Honest Trailer for ''Film/BillAndTedsExcellentAdventure'', the narrator congratulating Creator/KeanuReeves for managing to break out of his "surfer-dude" TypeCasting with ''Film/JohnWick''.
* The entire starring section of the ''Film/SpaceJam'' Honest Trailer is devoted to pointing out [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic how great the soundtrack]] of that film was.
* ''Film/JohnWick'' gets a special mention for taking advantage of modern film production technology to create cool, exciting action scenes and not relying on overused camera tricks like JitterCam or quick cuts to create tension.
* When the Honest Trailer for ''Film/LaLaLand'' becomes one for ''Film/Moonlight2016'', the "Starring..." section begins with, "Starring all these people who would have been thanked had that guy from Price Waterhouse Cooper not been too busy taking selfies to keep track of the envelope...", and proceeds to refer to all of the major cast members by their real names.
* The narrator finds ''Film/{{Logan}}'' to be so good that he's having trouble making fun of it, especially during [[TearJerker very emotional scenes]] and realistic moments. Unable to bring himself to go on, he calls up Film/{{Deadpool|2016}} to help out with some of his trademark irreverence. Surprisingly, [[EvenEvilHasStandards the Merc with a Mouth is equally in love with the movie and outright refuses to shit on Hugh Jackman's final hurrah as Wolverine]].
* When doing an honest trailer of ''WesternAnimation/Cars1'', the narrator quickly realizes that the movie isn't nearly as bad as some people claim it to be, and thus he has hardly anything negative to say about it. So, he decides to let this movie be and to do ''WesternAnimation/Cars2'' instead.
* The narrator describing ''Film/{{Wonder Woman|2017}}'' as a 'flawed, but important movie', acknowledging that while the film itself has its own share of flaws (the villains' campiness, implying AllGermansAreNazis in WWI, etc.), it's still an inspirational, well-made film that finally gives a superheroine to be proud of, and Wonder Woman being a superheroine that DCEU desperately needed right now for her many positive yet realistic traits.
* While it still lampoons the series for its '80s nostalgia (even pointing out that it makes references to '80s works that appeared after the specific date the series is supposed to take place), the Honest Trailer for ''Series/StrangerThings'' points out that, contrary to what critics of the show claim, its acclaim does not come solely from that, but it actually has a good plot with a great young cast.
* In the Honest Trailer for ''Film/BatmanForever'', while the narrator does point out that this movie marked the decline of the Burton/Schumacher Batman quadrilogy, it did have 3 redeeming qualities: the [[MemeticMutation thumbs up gif]], the [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic epic]] Music/{{Seal}} [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic song]], and that no matter what people say, it still wasn't as shitty as ''Film/BatmanAndRobin''.
* While it is still in part to mock them for working on a film they found so terrible, the narrator gives his condolences to the people who spent years of their lives working on ''WesternAnimation/TheEmojiMovie''.
* The narrator noting how Creator/RobinWilliams' performance in ''Film/{{Jumanji}}'' was one of the reasons it turned out so great:
-->'''Narrator:''' [[TearJerker Man, I miss that guy]].
* In ''Film/KongSkullIsland'' the director Jordan Vogt-Roberts actually guest starred in the trailer and gave his own criticisms for his film. This was before his Website/{{Twitter}} rant towards ''WebVideo/CinemaSins'' and Vogt-Roberts has gone on record for saying that he prefers constructive and thoughtful criticism than thoughtless ones. Some directors can be self-absorbed about their films and it's nice to know that some directors know how to take a joke or respect the values of free speech.
* In the Honest Trailers for The 2019 Oscars, the "Starring" bit featuring the awards snubs honors [[Series/MisterRogersNeighborhood Fred Rogers]], with Josh Robert Thompson channeling Mister Rogers' voice, tone, and kindness while the Narrator, as a neighbor engages in a conversation with "Mister Rogers" regarding the [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks controversial choices]] for this year's broadcast, such as not broadcasting the technical award shows (which was thankfully reversed) while praising make-up artists, cinematographers, and production designers, not awarding Best Stunts while praising Tom Cruise's excellent stunt work, not nominating female directors while praising ''Leave No Trace'' and ''Film/YouWereNeverReallyHere'', and Creator/ToniCollette's Best Actress nomination snub. It is as heartwarming as it sounds.
-->'''Narrator:''' No problem, Mister Rogers. It's a beautiful day on the internet when you're around.
** Extra poignant that the movies mentioned in the "Female Directors" part are movies about protecting children. "Mister Rogers" talks about how important these stories are.
* Acknowledging that as overwhelming and bloated as ''Film/Aquaman2018'' was, it ''did'' redeem the character ''and'' Creator/JasonMomoa was charismatic as hell in the role.
* Despite poking fun at many elements of ''[[Film/Glass2019 Glass]]'' and going with the usual view that it's SoOkayItsAverage, the narrator still acknowledges that he's grateful the film exists since it's "an original, self-financed project from a true auteur that doesn't feel like anything else in an over-saturated market".
* The Narrator starts crying immediately at the Creator/StanLee InMemoriam LogoJoke in ''Film/CaptainMarvel2019''.
* Epic Voice Guy [[CutenessProximity gushing over]] [[Film/PokemonDetectivePikachu Detective Pikachu]].
* When they got to the "Starring..." section of ''Film/GalaxyQuest'' (already a heartwarming trailer in itself as the team clearly love the film to the bone), they joke about Creator/TimAllen and Creator/SigourneyWeaver, before saying [[SincerityMode "No joke here,]] just a hardcore 'Thank you' to Creator/AlanRickman." The comments were ''overwhelmed'' with appreciation.
* In the ''Film/BladeRunner2049'' trailer, the narrator calls out moviegoers who always complain about remakes and cookie-cutter blockbusters, but didn't turn out for one of the most evocative films of the decade.
* The trailer for ''Film/ETTheExtraTerrestrial'' considers the film to be flawless, and the narrator is unable to nitpick about it. Therefor, he drags in the infamous rip-off ''Film/MacAndMe'' and riffs on that movie instead.
* The Honest Game Trailers voice guy, Brad Venable, passed away in early 2021. The HT for ''VideoGame/Cyberpunk2077'' released a few days later, with the comments section filled with people begging to give a proper send-off from whoever takes over. The Honest Trailers channel was also giving an InMemoriam in his honor.
* In the trailer for ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021'', it notes that this is the last performance of the late Creator/ChadwickBoseman. Tearjerking, yes, but the quote they use from T’Challa is “it doesn’t feel like it’s over”. It acknowledges that while Boseman’s time with us is over, he and T’Challa will live on forever.
* At the end of the "Starring..." section for ''Film/GhostbustersAfterlife'', there is a dedication to Creator/IvanReitman who had died just days before, with a moment of silence before the narrator simply adds "rest in peace".
* While it's partly said as a setup to Creator/JordanPeele's TomHanksSyndrome, the Honest Trailer for ''Film/{{Nope}}'' opens by naming him as one of the few big modern filmmakers trying to keep classic cinema alive along with Creator/StevenSpielberg, Creator/QuentinTarantino and Creator/ChristopherNolan.
