* Two Harry-Dumbledore moments that positively ache occur in ''Half-Blood Prince'' and ''Deathly Hallows'':
-->"I am not worried, Harry. I am with you."\
"Of course this is all in your head, Harry, but why on Earth should that mean it isn't real?"
* In Book 6, he tells Scrimgeour that he's "Dumbledore's man through and through." But he's not just saying it as an "up yours" to Scrimgeour--except for a couple of periods of doubt, he is, a strong supporter and proponent of Albus Dumbledore. [[UndyingLoyalty Throughout Harry's life, he is and will always be Dumbledore's man through and through.]]
* Two words: Alice Longbottom.
** Just to expand this, Alice and her husband were tortured to madness for information by the Death Eaters. In Order of the Phoenix, the gang visit St. Mungo's Hospital after Ron's dad Arthur is bitten by Nagini, Voldemort's snake. Inside, they come in a room where they meet Neville (who did not come with them) and his grandmother. They meet Neville's parents, (whose minds are damaged beyond repair), and Alice, Neville's mother, gives her son a candy wrapper, meaning that after all these years and despite her madness, she still remembers her son and still loves him.
*** Furthered when Neville's grandmother tells him to throw the candy wrapper away ("She must have given you enough to paper your bedroom with,"), but Harry catches Neville slipping the wrapper in his pocket.
*** The bit that ''really'' clinches this as a moment of Heartwarming is Neville looking at his friends, '''''daring them to speak'''''. He's willing to fight for them, there and then, if his friends dare say anything.
*** And Harry's reaction: He thinks he hasn't seen anything less funny in his entire life. His own mother was murdered when she was 21 and he was abused all his childhood, but he recognizes the Longbottoms' suffering and thinks that in a way, their fate is even more horrible than James and Lily's.
* Snape's worst memory is his falling out with his best friend. Nothing in all 38 years of his life was as bad as that to him.
* Going back to the first book, there's the beginning of Harry and Ron's friendship with Hermione, when they go back to save her and she winds up lying to protect them. It's really all summed up with the classic line, "There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them."
* One of the best things in the series is the friendship of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I can't really think of any moments involving Hermione that haven't been mentioned, but there's two with Harry and Ron that make me "aww" every time. The first is in ''The Goblet of Fire'', right after Harry wins the first task. Ron and Harry have been fighting, but Ron comes back after this, and immediately starts complaining that Harry should have gotten more points for fighting the dragon. Harry thinks to himself that Ron's friendship is worth all the points in the world. The second is in ''The Deathly Hallows'' when Ron returns after running off, telling the story of how the Deluminator led him back. He says, "I guess Dumbledore always knew I'd leave." Harry says, "No, he knew you'd always want to come back."
* The development of Harry's friendship with Luna. In the fifth book, he is embarrassed to be seen with her, but he's grateful that she believes him about Voldemort's return and sympathizes with her tragic experiences. By the sixth book, he is highly offended when it's suggested that Luna isn't worth his time, and actually takes her to Slughorn's Party. For whatever reason, Harry and Luna have this empathetic connection that he has with no one else — including Ron and Hermione. Harry comes to appreciate her indestructible sense of optimism and her careless honesty, which, considering how half of his life seems to be secrets and confusion, is probably refreshing. There's a reason Harry gave his daughter the middle name "Luna".
** It's more than that; while Hermione and Ron are his friends, Luna can sympathise with him; like Harry, she has lost a parent — she knows what it is like to lose a mother. Neither Hermione nor Ron do, but Luna does; she is the one person who can really and truly understand Harry's plight.
* To finish off the series, Jo writes in her dedication: "...and to you, if you have stuck with Harry until the very end." A touching nod to all the HP fans — many of whom did start the series as children right around Harry's age and finished it as adults.
* Highly questionable, but is perhaps at least interesting that Remus, implicitly the only one of the Marauders who was consistently kind to Peter and the one who brought him into the group, is also the only one who was not directly harmed in the course of Peter's betrayal.
* A staple of the series is the Christmas chapters. If nothing else works, you can always rely on a Harry Potter's Christmas to warm up your heart.

* Molly Weasley's entire character. In contrast to Aunt Petunia, who was related to Harry by blood and given the responsibility of caring for him but could not muster so much as a drop of affection for him — even at the very end, when she knew he deserved better — Molly was not related to Harry by blood, ''willingly took on'' the responsibility of caring for him, and loved him as a mother would a son. And all this despite having ''seven'' biological children of her own. It really speaks volumes to the size of her heart. But GoodIsNotSoft. When Bellatrix threatened her only daughter, it didn't matter that Molly was going up against a mass-murdering AxCrazy psychopath despite not having seen much battle in twenty years, she jumped directly into the fray and ''ended that bitch'' because, by God, if she's around, you ''will not'' lay a hand on her children. She might not have made a story-altering HeroicSacrifice like Lily Potter did, but she touched Harry's life forever by living the way that Lily died. And if the idea of that doesn't warm your heart just a little, then what will?
** And it's never even implied that she's doing all this for "Chosen One The Boy Who Lived Famous Wizard Harry Potter." She's doing it for "Boy Who Needs Positive Parental Figures In His Life Harry Potter." It would be so easy for Molly to want to hitch her destitute family's fortune onto Harry's rising star, but she just genuinely wants what's best for the boy.
* While it's not presented as an Aesop, the fact that Molly and Arthur Weasley, when the dust finally settles by the epilogue, win at life by virtue of their children. This humble couple, who didn't have a lot in terms of finance, showered all the children that came into their lives — even the ones that weren't their blood — with love instead, and by Merlin, it ''paid off.'' Look at this list:
** '''Bill''' continued his career as a curse-breaker at Gringotts while Fleur (read: hot part-veela chick from France) worked for Gringotts in Britain (and probably did some liaison work, given that she's likely one of the few witches fluent in both French and English). Let's not forget that Fleur was no slouch as a witch in her own right, having been presented as the best Beauxbatons had to offer at the time of the Triwizard Tournament.
** '''Charlie''' made a living studying dragons, a job that requires both brains '''and''' BrassBalls.
** '''Percy''' became a high-ranking official — some sources say head — of the Department of Magical Transportation.
** '''Fred''' died, but he died a hero and leaves behind a status as one of the founders of Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes as his legacy.
** '''George''' continues as a successful businessman at the aforementioned Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes, doing what he loves.
** '''Ron''' logged some time as an Auror and then joined George at the shop, where business is booming. It's not explicitly stated that he got his recognition for being Harry Potter's right-hand man during the war against Voldemort, but given that he got his own Chocolate Frog card, it's pretty likely. Oh, and he married the cleverest witch of their generation (and his FirstLove) in Hermione, who went on to have her own successful career in Magical Law.
** '''Ginny''' became a successful professional Quidditch player, then an analyst. Oh, and she married Harry Potter, who maybe could have been satisfied with doubling down on his status as the prime savior of wizarding Britain… but instead went on to become Head Auror by 27 and revolutionize the entire department.
** '''Harry''' is effectively adopted by the Weasleys on top of their biological kids, not because he's a famous wizard Chosen One of prophecy, but because he's a boy who needs a little bit more love in his life (notably, Molly is absolutely kind, sweet, and helpful to Harry before she even knows who he is). He goes on to not only defeat one of the most powerful Dark Wizards ever at age 17, but becomes Head Auror ten years later. And despite all the awful, horrible, soul-crushing crap that happens to him, remains a kind, decent human being, in part because of the positive influence of the Weasleys.
** '''Hermione''' had a much better home life than Harry, but being Muggle-born, there was a lot of the Wizarding World her parents just weren't able to understand or participate in. So the Weasleys take it on themselves to be Hermione's "Wizard Parents," doing things like taking her to the Quidditch World Cup. Even if Hermione isn't a big Quidditch fan, it's still a big event she's unlikely to get the opportunity to see again, and gives her a chance to live in the regular Wizarding World, outside of Hogwarts, for a little bit.
* Celestina Warbeck's song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5aHC2-gAig "My Baby Gave Me A Hippogriff For Christmas"]] starts out comical but has a heartwarming ending — as the title implies, her lover sends her a Hippogriff as a Christmas gift and predictably the bird is such a disaster that she even briefly considers the possibility that her lover sent this to her out of ''malice''. However, towards the end she starts to grow affection for the massive creature, especially valuing his UndyingLoyalty to her, noting that she has [[LoyalAnimalCompanion "a fearsome friend who'll be with her til the end"]] and declares a Hippogriff "the greatest gift of all".

[[folder: Pottermore (Unmarked spoilers for Book 7 and Cursed Child)]]
* Harry and Viktor Krum meeting before the final of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup and embracing each other like old friends.
** Harry also introducing James and Albus to him.
* TheReveal that Harry and Ginny named Neville Albus' godfather.
* Ginny and Harry not minding that Albus cheers for another team. GoodParents indeed.
** The rest of his family wearing Bulgarian red and Albus wearing Brazilian green might be foreshadowing Albus' eventual Hogwarts sorting.
* Also, Dumbledore's Army reunites during the Finals, showing that even after the War ended, they remained friends. Of course, Rita tries to ruin it, but it still is nice.
* Krum winning the tournament and being hoisted into the air by his team and having ''tears'' in his eyes.
* After Japan wins the third-place play-off match against the USA, the two teams embrace on the field, and Japan later gifts the American team a Hoo-hoo chick. It shows that The Quidditch World Cup ''may'' be a competition, but they're only rivals on the field: Dumbledore's desire for "international magical cooperation" has come ''true.''
* The fact that there is no mention of [=McGonagall=] selling the house that her husband bought during their unfortunately too short marriage — this means that she still has the house of the man who made her more freer that she ever was before and who loved her so much as to propose more than once.
** And it's quite likely that [=McGonagall=], upon finishing her tenure as a Hogwarts professor and Headmistress, returned to live out her retirement years in this very house.
* In a way, Vernon's reaction to Petunia telling him about her sister being a witch. He's shocked, but then he declares that what her sister is has no effect on his feelings for her. For a guy who's so blindly judgemental, that's actually very sweet of him.
* After his death, not only was Lupin the first werewolf to be named to the Order of Merlin, the example of his life was responsible for lifting much of the stigma against werewolves in the Wizarding World.
* James Potter's parents, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, who were "old by wizarding standards", took in their teenage son's friend as their second son. He didn't stay long, subsequently buying a flat with money left to him by his not-pureblood-maniac uncle, but he was ''always'' welcome for Sunday dinner, every Sunday.
* Gwenog Jones only celebrates her team's victory after learning that the opposing team's seeker was ''not'' actually killed after their botched Wronski Feint.
* Lichtenstein and Chad have a match that lasts ''three days'' and ''both'' teams are crying in delight and relief when, thank God, it ''finally ends'', regardless of the outcome.
* The fact that after the series, Harry still remains in touch with Dudley, and their kids are allowed to play together.
