----
* Appearing in the Second Episode we are introduced to Esther Hayes, she works at the Town Hall, but despite being single and without children, she is a welcoming face for those that needed it, she helps Christine Hardman throughout her time on the street both with her ill mother and the money problems, babysat Lucille Hewitt while her father was working and helped get No 9 in order when the Cheveski's came she never a main storyline like the other original cast members but there's little bits that could have been, like her troublesome brother to visit and the small almost romance with her boss who stayed with her when she was ill.. She later moved away from the street but would return for special events.
** In a way it was fitting the character was so kind and heartwarming, she was played by Daphne Oxenford whose most famous for the voice of Listen with Mother a childhood Radio classic.
* During the Gas Leak of 1961 Annie Walker is annoyed that Jack has brought his bowling bag and is sharp with him throughout the night until Jack is given one of Annie's love letters from the War which she brought with them and he reveals he had his in his bowling bag which cheers Annie up no end.
* As much as they clashed, Ena Sharples could be nice to Elsie Tanner and vice versa both admiring each other for their strengths and there for their weakness here are some examples:
** When Ena was in hospital, Elsie came pretending to be her daughter and gifted her a secret bottle of Milk Stout.
** When Ena realised that Elsie's then boyfriend Bill Gregory was married and got Len to reveal the truth in order to protect her.
** After the fight in 1965, both were depressed for feeling and tried of fighting so Ena upon realising that Elsie felt the same, gave up being Elsie's landlord and they shared a drink in the Rovers.
** In 1980 Ena's flat in the Community Centre was being refurbishment, so Elsie who had no-one in her house offered her a room until it was finished, Ena would cook and clean while Elsie worked, however despite the act of kindness and some sweet moments, Ena moved to St. Annes to a friend's house a week later saying that they would soon start fighting like a old married couple.
* After Martha Longhurst died, her family allowed Ena Sharples and Minnie Caldwell to look at things they wanted to keep, they were talking about her sad life with an terrible unfaithful husband and an cold daughter that used her as a free babysitter. The two women find a recording done in Blackpool when she went without her husband and it reveals Martha had a romance with a man named Phil showing that their friend had a little fun in her life.
* When an unexploded bomb is found in 1964 the street went to the old-fashioned Shelter in the cellar of the Mission Hall, after a while they start singing songs like they used to do, even Ena is soften by the end, just as the bomb defused.
* Post crash has the regulars in hospital, however the worst is Minnie Cladwell who is in a coma, when Ena is allowed to see her, she is more than afraid she was going to lose her best friend but thankfully Minnie awakes to her relief.
* The softer side of Ena Sharples was present when she was with children, she babysat her grandson Colin and it was clear that their relationship was a strong one even if it wasn't with his Mother Vera. In the 70's Colin and his wife Karen became very close to her with her meeting her Great Grandson Jason and her visits to them in 1978 after returning she revealed that the pair offered for her to stay with them for good, but she turned it down as she didn't want to be a burden on them.
* An real life, when Gordon Clegg discovered that Betty Turpin was his real Mother he accepted her straight away, this also happened to the actors as well, Bill Kenwright and Betty Driver's friendship was more like Mother and Son and it's heartwarming and tear jerking that he returned to the Street to announced Betty's death.
* After Emily returned from her sister's after Ernest's death, Deirdre Langton is house cleaning for her and Emily looks after baby Tracy, Deirdre fears that Emily might be getting too close but upon Emily thanking her for letting her look after Tracy for getting her out of the void Deirdre realises Emily is harmless and allows her to carry on.
* Elsie Tanner's ending on the show is quite heartwarming, she is reunited with old flame Bill Gregory when he returns hearing of their shared old pal Len Fairclough's death, discovering that Elsie was single again, he took her out and then invited her to come to Portugal with him, first off she refuses, however it's Bet Lynch that unknowingly tells her to take the opportunity, she calls Bill in London and tells her she'll met him in London and then she does happily leave the street for Portugal.
* In 1984 Stan Ogden received £200 after an accident, however Hilda confronts him for continually taking money out, they have a brief row, when she reminds him that he will be drawing his pension soon and will need all the money they have kept, understanding what she means Stan promises to stop, for what would turn out to be the last appearance of Stan Ogden it's nice he ended on a sweet moment.
* Hilda's exit is quite lovely, it was Christmas 1987, she had been offered the chance to work for Dr.Lowther who had a flat for a housekeeper, with the old memories of her and Stan left in No 13 she was given a farewell party in the Rovers were they gifted her a Carriage Clock and Heated Rollers in place of her iconic curlers and she sang herself out with a happy to hear audience.
* At Billy Platt's funeral, as villified as Todd and his family were, when Eileen and Jason arrived at the funeral, in spite of the few grumblings of other mourners, Hayley extended her hand to them and cleared a space for them to stand at his internment.
* When Jack Duckworth died, Vera's spirit came back to guide him to heaven, nagging at him to get a move on. They dance to the romantic record Jack has playing before moving on.
** Also his actions before his death are such, he returned to the street because he was dying and used his money to help others. He paid to repair the roof of Emily Bishop's church, got Sally Webster tickets for the Opera which she always wanted and the street gave him a birthday party in the Rovers.
* Ex-Army hardman Jim [=McDonald=] sticking up for the mild-mannered Roy and Hayley when a man starts shouting abuse and threatening them due to Hayley being transgender. Jim tells the man in no uncertain terms that Roy and Hayley are his friends and if you pick on them it won't end well and the man leaves without Jim even having to throw a punch. Jim then shows his rarely seen tender side by comforting the two of them. Having spent years of their lives feeling like outcasts, it's quite touching to see the high regard that even someone like Jim holds them in.
** Jim also makes sure Roy has a stag night after Roy initially appears reluctant, politely asking Hayley if him and the boys can 'borrow' Roy for the evening. When Jim lets the others know that Roy didn't have a stag night planned, such is their respect for Roy and Hayley, they all want to ensure Roy enjoys his last night of freedom. This is also touching given how long Roy and Hayley were shunned by society and how despite being cruelly bullied by other characters, they are loved and accepted for who they are. This was in the late 90s when, despite attitudes starting to change, people like them would have still had to put up with a lot of prejudice.
* Norris was being his usual pompous self trying to organize a book club - and forcing them all to read his favorite book. Emily finds her copy has a few pages missing, with Norris acting strangely evasive. She gets another copy and learns that the missing pages contained an armed robbery plot - which Norris was afraid would upset her. She thanks him for thinking of her.
* Tyrone Dobbs letting Tommy Duckworth live with him after he arrived looking for Jack, several months after his grandfather's death (Tommy was overseas at the time, and couldn't be contacted). For the simple reason that Jack and Vera treated Tyrone like their own son, so he saw Tommy as family.
* Gloria Price giving her daughter Stella all of her £80,000 inheritance (from Eric's will) so that Stella could finish off the rebuilding of the Rovers Return.
** Leanne giving Stella the remaining money for pub fixtures, even though she had earlier denied her any money unless Stella broke up with Karl.
* Rosie may be a ditz but she will stand up for Sophie and Sian if anyone insults them
* Similarly how Sian and Sophie stand up for each other.
* WillTheyOrWontThey aside, the friendship between Bethany Platt and Craig Tinker is strong and has its share of heartwarming moments during Bethany's bullying and sex abuse storylines.
* Although Gary Windass was beaten to near death by David Platt, he does realise something is troubling David and that he is not in his right state of mind, and reaches out to help him. Even though Gary presumes that it is because David has some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder following his wife Kylie's murder, in reality, it is because David was raped by Josh Tucker.
* Despite being enemies, Gail Rodwell and Eileen Phelan have had some heartwarming moments over the years.
** They comforted each other during the 2010 tram crash, especially as both of their sons Nick and Jason respectively were in danger.
** After Michael Rodwell died, Gail and Eileen mourned him together and attended the funeral.
** After Eileen's husband Pat Phelan was exposed as a serial killer, Gail attempted to comfort her as she herself was married to a killer many years ago. Although it didn't end well as Gail's constant harping on annoyed an already distraught Eileen, who then ordered her to leave. However, Gail's heart was in the right place.
* The conclusion of Brian's workplace bullying storyline. Jack Webster records Phil tormenting Brian, and everyone in the pub defends Brian from an enraged Phil. Brian is forgiven for what happened at the nativity and both Shona and David proclaim their gratitude and approval of Brian. They told Phil about how Brian devotes himself to the students and has taken time out of his social life to help them. When Brian meets the head-teacher, she also conveys the approval from the other parents and students. It's really telling something when Evelyn defends Brian from Phil, despite giving him a hard time in the past.
* The support Peter gives to Carla when she reveals what has happened with Chelsey and Jordan... Carla squatted in their flat during her psychosis... but only under the condition she and Jordan slept together. Carla then reveals this in the bar in front of everyone, and they all give her great support.
* Becky left the Street after managing to get her revenge against Tracy and ruin her and Steve's wedding. But before she hopped into her waiting taxi, she spotted Roy and Hayley standing outside his shop, came up to them and gave them both the biggest hug, saying how they're "the best people in this, flippin', stupid world" and thanked them for taking her in when she first came to the neighborhood when she had/was nothing and for always standing by her.
