!!Movie
* During the ice cream "snow" day, Earl says, "[[PlatonicDeclarationOfLove I love you, son]]," to which Cal replies, "I know, Dad. You tell me every day."
* "You never made a request, so I made one for you." (Flint's introduction to the giant jello, said to Sam, especially touching because it's both of their favourite food).
* Flint's reaction to Sam's new look, which is really her old, geeky look before she began letting her hair down and acting airheaded to avoid teasing. [[http://preschoolfeminism.tumblr.com/post/85385509100/i-m-cumberbatched-so-can-we-just-talk-about This beautiful commentary]] does a good job of digging into it.
-->'''Flint:''' I mean, you were okay before, but NOW... you're BEAUTIFUL.
* "When it rains, you put on a coat." (First time.) When Flint is lying in the bin feeling down, Tim hands him his lab coat and says this line. It cheers him right up.
* When the Mayor pits up the townspeople against Flint for causing all the disastrous food weather, Officer Earl Devereaux, previously a jerk to Flint in his first few scenes before warming up to him, stands up for Flint and convinces the townspeople to take responsibility for the food weather since they put in all the requests for the food in the first place, and he also convinces them to build rafts out of food to evacuate the island.
** Though Earl slaps him afterwards -- as he specifically said he would. Immediately after ''that'', he apologizes, but Flint seems to think it was fair.
* When Flint and Sam are trying to shut down the machine. Sam pricks herself on peanut brittle, triggering her peanut allergy. Flint wants her to go back to the flying car to get medicine before it gets worse, but she refuses to leave him, knowing his chance of escaping on his own is slim. There's a LoveConfession. Flint bites through his licorice rope, basically sacrificing himself for her well-being.
* "Me too... but about you." Both times. That is, when first Sam, then Flint, admit they like each other, not platonically but, "like, ''like you'', like you," the other says this line.
* While its a mix of heartbreaking as well (see Tearjerker), Flint's father shows himself as a loving father who's just very bad at expressing his feelings through words. When Flint's spray on shoes are permanently stuck to his feet, he tries to emotionally support him and give him advice, but can only give a fishing metaphor. Flint's inventions before the machine regularly go wrong, but Tim clearly allows Flint to test them on his appliances (the "Remote Controlled Television) or even himself (the "Hair Un-Balder"), even getting hurt when Steve tears half his mustache off. His direction for Flint joining the tackle shop is not an attempt to crush Flint's dreams, but because he believes it's a good business, especially after all of Flint's machines end in disaster. Also a chance for Flint to work alongside him. When he shows Flint his altered "Lockwood [and Son] Bait and Tackle" sign, he even proudly smiles at Flint, though Flint is less than thrilled.
** Despite his initial refusal to allow Flint to continue his invention after the successful test of the machine, when Flint tells him that a girl (Sam) is there, Tim steps aside, but only after getting Flint to promise he has things under control and it won't end in disaster.
** Though its partially sad as well, Tim hopefully asks Flint if he'll be coming back to the shop anytime soon. Unfortunately, Flint is drunk on his success and refuses. Even his later warnings to Flint about the size of the food comes from a place of worry for him and the possibility of people being hurt rather than selfishness.
* After Flint had pulled off his HeroicSacrifice move, everyone on the ground below [[DisneyDeath thought he was dead]]. Minutes later though he's returned to the ground, somewhat safe and sound. His rescuers? Why none other than the [[MixAndMatchCritters ratbirds]] he created.
* When Tim is too shy to speak, Sam puts the thought translator on him. What comes out was what follows:
-->'''Tim:''' ''[thinking]'' I'm proud of you, Flint. I'm amazed that someone as ordinary as me could be the father of someone as extraordinary as you. You're talented, a total original, and your lab is breathtaking. Your mom, she, uh... always knew you were gonna be special, and if she were alive today, she'd tell us both, "I told you so." ''[chuckles]'' Now, uh... look, when I take this thing off, and you hear me make a fishing metaphor, just know that fishing metaphor means...\
'''Tim:''' ''(out loud)'' I love my son.\
'''Flint:''' I love you too, Dad.
* The main theme for the film, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKSsyQLOcAQ Raining Sunshine]]." The perfect song to cap off a happy ending.
