* Joey, Madge and the Robin having their first Tyrolean Christmas with Frieda and her family.
* The girls celebrating Madge's birthday - a special occasion for the school - by singing a short song written by Joey and Margia Stevens. Although most of the girls don't know this at the time, what makes it particularly bittersweet for Madge is that it's her final term as headmistress before she marries Jem.
** And of course, there's Jem and Madge's wedding, followed by Joey meeting them in Belsornia and being paraded through the streets as a national hero.
* The end of ''Head Girl'', when Grizel is about to leave the school which had been a home to her for so many years, and everyone is cheering and congratulating her for being such a great Head Girl - made even more heartwarming by the fact that she nearly didn't get the job, because Miss Maynard was worried she couldn't be trusted. Her CharacterDevelopment throughout the book shows just how far she has come from the angry, bitter teenager she was in the first book, even though it doesn't completely stick.
* The letters from a Tyrolean soldier in Andreas Hofer's army to his dying sweetheart, which Simone accidentally unearths in ''The Chalet Girls in Camp'' while Grizel and Juliet are playing a prank on Joey. The hole in which they found the package turns out to be a hole the soldier and his lover dug as children, and he's hidden his letters, a locket with her hair and photo, and various other things there for safekeeping. The staff make enquiries and find a local man who turns out to be related to the soldier, and give the letters to him.
* From ''The Chalet School In Exile'', when Joey comes round and discovers that Hilary and the Robin are safe:
--> Madge would have tried to console her; but Jack Maynard gave her a shock. Holding Joey very tightly to him, he said in tones there was no mistaking, “Never mind, my darling. It’s all over, and Robin is safe. . .”
--> And before the stunned Madge could gasp out any ejaculation, Joey sobbed, “Oh, Jack – what a – solid lump – of comfort you – are!”
** From the same book, [[spoiler:Gertrud Becker's]] HeelFaceTurn, and Jack bringing Joey into the school, saying he has a surprise for her. It's [[BigFriendlyDog Rufus]]. And who brought him over to Guernsey? [[spoiler:Frieda Mensch, Bruno von Ahlen and Friedel von Gluck.]] Two of whom managed to escape from a concentration camp, thanks to a girl involved with the Peace League.

* Jacynth Hardy and Gay Lambert's friendship in ''Gay from China'', especially when Jacynth realises after her auntie's death that [[YouAreNotAlone she is not alone after all and will have a home with the Lamberts.]]
** In the same book, when Miss Wilson - who is recovering from a broken leg - returns to school after a pleading letter from Joey, we find out just how close she and her co-head Miss Annersley are. Overlaps with LesYay.

* Miss Annersley gets a minor heartwarming moment in ''Carola'' when she gives Grizel the money she needs to help start up a business in New Zealand with Deira O'Hagen, as Grizel isn't allowed to access her savings until she's thirty-five, thanks to her abusive parents. Biddy also deserves a mention for listening to Grizel's story, despite having less-than-pleasant memories of being taught by her, and begging Miss Annersley not to be harsh on her.
* When Julie Lucy comes down with peritonitis in ''Bride Leads'' and is rushed to hospital, Tom - who announces earlier in the book that she is planning to become a missionary and work in poor areas of London - asks Mlle de Lachenais if they can have a private prayer session for her, and the girls and Mlle all say a couple of prayers. The other girls think that this is Tom's first step in her chosen career.
** The scene at the beginning with the Bettany family, where TeamMom Peggy is looking after Mollie, who is recovering from thyroid surgery, and the other kids and Dick are all doing their bits to help. Especially as out of the [=MBR=] families, the Bettanys get the least screentime as a family (due to Dick, Mollie and the younger twins being in India in the Tyrol/war years).

[[folder: Switzerland]]
* Con winning one of Tom's dolls' houses (a Swiss chalet) for the ''second time'' at the Willow Pattern Sale in ''Does it Again'', only to ask if she can give it away to [[DelicateAndSickly Leila Elstob]] as she already has dolls' houses of her own, and Leila will appreciate it more. Leila's mum, who had entered the competition and got her niece Sue Meadows to enter as well, is overjoyed. One book later, in ''Kenya'', Con goes to visit Leila in the Sanatorium and talks to her about the dolls' house, and helps Leila get to sleep. The doctors and Mrs Elstob are relieved as Leila has been particularly unwell recently, to the point where Jack is worried for her life, and needs all the sleep she can get.
* Joey's conversation with Ros Lilley in ''Problem''. She invites Ros over and, knowing that Ros comes from a working-class background, gets her to open up about her dad's job (he's a market gardener) by making conversation with her about the Maynards' rose garden. Ros ends up pouring her heart out to Joey about how she's afraid the other girls might look down on her. Joey tells Ros not to be ashamed of her background, that the girls won't hold it against her (and they don't), and that it's not what she ''has'', but who she ''is'' that matters - and that Jesus Christ himself was the son of a poor carpenter and an ordinary woman (which Marie also points out to snobby Thekla in ''Exploits'').
* Jack has one with Matey in ''Excitements'' after her sister dies, and she comments that there is almost no-one left to call her Gwynneth. The staff always refer to her as 'Matey' or 'Matron'. Jack replies that there are plenty of people willing to call her by her real name if she'll let them, and that he and Joey would do just that and encourage the other staff to do the same. He and Joey also look after her for a few days to let her get her strength back. It reinforces the feeling that the Chalet School is more than a job for some of its members of staff; it's a second family.
* The Chalet School's treatment of Theodora 'Ted' Grantley in ''Theodora''. Joey gives her the nickname of Ted as a way of showing her that she has a chance to wipe the slate clean, the school are willing to give her a chance and let her make good despite her previous expulsions, Miss Annersley does Ted's hair for her after Ted complains about how hard it is to look after, and when she, Len and Ros Lilley are in isolation after coming into contact with a child with smallpox, Len helps Ted with her languages and she comes on in leaps and bounds. In turn, the fact the school is so willing to give Ted a second chance makes Ted happy and determined to do well. Shame [[{{Blackmail}} Margot had to go and ruin things.]]
* Professor Fry, Richenda's dad, is pretty useless at parenting and even admits it himself, but when he hears that Richenda's eyes have been injured in an accident, he drops everything and flies out to Switzerland to be with her, showing that he does care about her after all. He and Richenda also reconcile after Joey gets them both to understand that they're not so different and promises to teach her about Chinese ceramics.
* Grizel Cochrane ''finally'' getting her happy ending with Neil Sheppard in ''The Chalet School Reunion''. After everything she's been through, it's a relief to see something good happening to her at last.

* Every Chalet School Christmas play, ever. ''Especially'' the one in ''Highland Twins'', [[spoiler:when an injured Jack turns up after being feared dead.]] A new and/or naughty girl will always wonder why the play moved her so much, and an older girl or mistress will tell her that it was because they ''meant'' it, and because the story of Jesus will last for generations and generations.
* Elinor M Brent-Dyer's grave in Redstone Cemetery originally did not have a headstone. Friends of the Chalet School, a group of fans of the series run by Clarissa Cridland and Ann Mackie-Hunter, crowdfunded one for her in 1994, the centenary of her birth. They regularly put flowers on the grave. Cridland and Mackie-Hunter also run Girls Gone By Publishers, which publishes various Girls' Own books, including the ''Chalet School'' series, and have kept the series alive for fans old and new, along with other fans who've written essays or fan fiction for the [=GGBP=] editions.
* Pertisau am Achensee, the inspiration for Briesau am Tiernsee, has a plaque dedicated to [=EBD=] in its local library, funded by Friends of the Chalet School, which reads: "Zum Gedenken an die berühmte englische Schriftstellerin ELINOR M BRENT DYER 1894-1969. Pertisau inspirierte sie zu ihren Erzählungen der CHALET SCHOOL." ("In memory of the famous English writer Elinor M Brent-Dyer, 1894-1969. Pertisau inspired her stories of the Chalet School.")
