* How is Icy the most powerful witch? Her ice cannot even kill people, yet her sisters control storms (which should include ice by default) and darkness itself!
** Well Icy is the most evil one out of the three of them. She's very hateful and cruel just for fun, and I'd assume that hatred weighs in on a witch's strength. Also, Icy is charismatic so I'd assume that also contributes to a witch's strength. And actually, her ice *can* kill people, it's just that we usually see Stella unfreezing the frozen person or Bloom unfreezing herself before the coldness of the ice would actually suck the life out of the frozen person.
*** And another reason why her ice can't ''kill'' people: The MoralGuardians wouldn't allow it. It's a kid's show.
** I agree with the first post. I didn't see how ice is more powerful than darkness. Or heck, storms for that matter! Who knows though. Then again, what if Icy ''isn't'' as powerful as she supposedly makes herself out to be? I always thought she just convinced her sisters that she's the strongest, and they believed her.
** Icy's element may seem weaker, but she probably has more magical power than Darcy and Stormy, just like how Bloom has more raw magical strength than everyone else her age. Personality wise Stormy is the kind of person that tends to prefer to just blow stuff up. She can be subtle, but she also rarely thinks ahead. Darcy on the other hand is smart enough to lead, but she's not as good of a fighter as the other two, plus she's tends to be a lone wolf when coming up with plans. Icy however, is charismatic, but more importantly she is very ambitious. She usually thinks faster on her feet and doesn't hesitate to drag her sisters along, whether they like it or not.
** Icy is mostly more powerful because her ability is opposite to Bloom's. That's really about it. It only holds true in S1 of course, but that's the only real explanation of why she would be any more powerful then her sisters is because Bloom in generally slated to be the most powerful of the Winx.
** It's mostly due to personalities. Stormy has proved she ''is'' more powerful than Icy (first time they get in battle in the series: Tecna uses an energy shield to NoSell Icy's icicle storm, but the shield is ''shattered'' by Stormy's thunderbolt), but her temper prevents her to ''think'' and use it efficiently, while Icy is very efficient. Darcy, on the other hand, may have the ability to use MindControl, MindRape, illusions (even for scrying and multiply her attack power) and has even showed SuperStrength and [[PlayingWithFire the ability to set off fires]] that ''Bloom'' can't put off (at least without Enchantix), [[BrilliantButLazy but she can't get bothered to actually use her superior power most of the time]] (the one time she showed SuperStrength Bloom had just royally pissed her off, and the fire trick happened in the same episode Icy had bragged that Valtor favored her and had gifted her with a fire-based power up) and prefers playing with people's feelings, while Icy always gives her best.
** Not sure if this applies to the non-4Kids canon, but I imagine that both Icy's and Bloom's elements are more than just ice and fire. Icy's "ice" is analogous to death. WordOfGod said that Icy's power came from "primordial void" and "dead planets" on their site. Domino has always been described as an "iced" planet, instead of a "dead" one. Accordingly, Belladonna, the Ancestral Witch most similar to Icy, iced Domino. Bloom's fire represents life itself: the Dragon Fire has been described as the source of life in the universe. Death is quite morbid, so it got subbed out for the very fundamental and common "fire vs ice" theme. This also explains why Icy and Bloom are the focal points of their respective groups. If it was simply based on fire and ice, "dark" (Darcy) vs "light" (Stella) would make a better central conflict.
* Oil floats, at least on Earth. How did the oil get deep enough underwater to get to Andros?
** [[AWizardDidIt Magic?]]
** Actually tar sands oil is heavy enough that it will not float on water.
* JUST HOW DOES THE MAGIC SYSTEM WORK? So as far as I understood with Selena and, whether you are a witch or a fairy depends on your own choice and what you want to do with your powers. Ofcourse, I assume that some powers like snakes, spiders or nightmares are more useful as a witch, whereas light, dreams or flowers would be more useful as a fairy, so I assume that the choice isn't 100% yours (I also guess that your family will influence your choice), but where does this leave the specialists?? Are they another magical species? At the end, there aren't any fairies, nor witches, that were shown to be related to a specialist in the series, right?
** Ok, so first of all I have to just straight-up say that Winx isn't too big on lore and writing isn't their biggest point. You want the easy answer?? Rainbow thought sci-fi knights would look cooler than male fairies. And that's it.
** Ok, yes, but why don't they make them wizards or mages or smthng? Like Saladin or Nabu.
** Well, as you bring up Saladin, you also kind of debunk the first statement about specialists not being related to magical beings, as he is Helia's uncle.
** Ok so I think there are 5 options:
*** The specialists are another magical species. Male fairies do exist (you see them in Domino), but the male fairy school is not located in Magix, hence why they rarely show up in the background. This also implies the existence of a female specialist school, which is highly plausible, as there are female warriors and guards shown throughout the show.
*** The specialists do use magic, but they channel it in a different way. They do not transform like the fairies, they do not float or throw around spells like the witches, but they use they magic to fuel their weapons. Most of them consist out of this transparent material, that could perfectly be some kind of mana. In some fights, they also have been shown to be stronger than a normal weapon should be (see the first episode where Brandon, named Sky at the time, splits the ground with his sword). It is not unlikable that they use their magic in such a way, together with channeling it to heal and move faster.
*** The magic shown in Winx is matriarchal and only passed upon mother to daughter or granddaughter.
*** The specialist have magical powers, but never learnt how to develop them and focused on becoming a knight instead.
*** The only moment male fairies were shown in the series, was during the flashback of the witches attacking Domino, so this could unshackle the more morbid theory that the ancestral witches killed most male fairies for some reason.
* How is 'Return To Me' the favorite song of Musa's mother when it's literally about the latter being death?
** I have two theories: Either the song is about a dead mother in general and it's a sad coincidence that it applies to Musa's situation now, or (what I used to assume) is that Musa kept the instrumental but changed parts of the lyrics so it'd be suitable to her situation, as an ode to her mom.
** We know almost nothing of the girl's family lives outside of Bloom's. Maybe her mother wrote the song to commemorate one of her losses, maybe this is even a case of GenerationXerox
* Why isn't Mirta part of the Winx?
** Cute Pumpkin girl? Maybe she has Powers like Flora and they got Flora.
** Her power was to create illusions out of emotions, I think. But that would be too similar to Nabu's.
** Nabu is dead, and Stella and Bloom have similar powers.
** He wasn't dead yet when the Winx last encountered her, and they didn't have the time to send for her before the final battle with the Wizards.
** I don't understand that either. What really bugs me though is that she didn't ''stay a witch'', and instead ''becomes'' a fairy.
*** DarkIsEvil, apparently. Note that she CAN still use her witch powers.
*** I agree with that too, I know the creator mentioned that witches and fairies can change and stuff like that, but it's problematic to me that two witches on the show, one being a villain, became good guys by deciding to become fairies and not just be good witches. There are good and bad wizards on the show who never change their powers, so why witches and fairies?
*** I think it's pretty obvious by now that witches and fairies are the same magical creature in this universe; so to speak. It is just that fairies wish to do good with their powers and witches don't. So naturally, witches are portrayed as evil because they chose to be. Ofcourse, some powers are more 'good' oriented such as Light or Flowers and some are more evil alligned, such as illusions. But the fact that the major villain of the story has neutral powers (read Icy and her ice magic) implies being a witch or a fairy is more about what you decide to do with your abilities. Rather than what creature you are.
*** This is also backed up by the fact that the two witches we see switch sides, Mirtha and Selina, both had more dark-alligned powers. This would imply they (esp Mirta) might've started as witches because they didn't think they had it in them to be 'good'. To be fairies. It would've been a really cool theme to be explored in the show. Like this kind of lesson that how you are born doesn't define who or what you are, but the way you live your life does.
** Mirta had most of a year's training as a witch and none as a fairy and would have been behind the Winx in power and ability.
** Another theory I read on a forum, is that Mirta had a striking resembles to [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/WITCH another magical witch girl]]. Winx Club was already under fire after the accusations of copying the latter, so letting Mirta become part of the main characters would be a terrible move. Especially in the comics she had a [[http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/7900000/lil-mirta-the-winx-club-7926472-500-376.jpg striking resemblance]] to [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/witch/images/c/c9/1432976531.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130924164155 Will Vandom]].
** Take this with a grain of salt, as I can't find the source backing it up atm, but let's say I'm 99% sure there is an interview with Ignio Straffi somewhere, where he stated he wanted to add a black girl to the group. I think Mirta was supposed to be the 6th girl, but the company saw the opportunity to diversify their MC's, as 3 of them seemed already to be caucasian.
* Why didn't Daphne tell Bloom that she has the dragon fire all along and her HeroicBSOD is blocking her from using it?
** I think it is because she decided to bring Bloom journeys to Cloud Tower. When she tells her to go to a river and let all her worries go away, that when Bloom gets her powers back.
** Daphne has limited ability to communicate and Bloom needed to find out herself about her destiny. There would be no story if everything is explained by Daphne all at once.
* Why did the Trix lose Bloom's dragon fire in the virtual reality chamber?
** My theory is that in a virtual reality, they can't get her powers there. So that's when they get Bloom's powers in the real world.
** There's actually enough information in the episode itself, but you have to look closely (more than your average target viewer might be inclined to), and [[VoodooShark it just raises further questions]]. Incidentally, this issue doesn't happen in the original, as the whole point of their exercise was to show that Bloom has the Dragonfire.
** It's just a case of a DubInducedPlotHole. In the Rai version the witches are actually just ''making sure'' Bloom possess the Dragon's Flame, so as not make the same mistake as they did with Stella's Ring. The 4kids ending was just pieced together from old episodes.
* If Roxy was born on Earth, how did she get her powers?
** She's [[HalfHumanHybrid half-human, half-fairy]] by her human father and fairy mother, Morgana.
*** All fairies are human and heredity is no requirement of power in the canon that we know about.
* How did Morgana put her grudge on humans come to an end?
** It is Roxy's pleas that really cause her to end her war. Later it is revealed that she is Roxy's mother. That explains that she answers her pleas and the fact that if Morgana destroys humanity, she's going to destroy the people she loves: Roxy and her husband, Klaus.
* How come Roxy and her father, Klaus, forgot about Morgana?
** After Morgana gets captured by the Wizards of the Black Circle when Roxy is a little kid, they put up a spell to make Roxy and her father forget about her existence.
*** Why did they do that in the first place?
*** This Troper thought it was so Roxy wouldn't realize she's a fairy, and possibly find a way to SOS to the Magical Dimension for help to save her mother and the other Earth fairies.
*** It was said that it was her ''mother'' that made them forget, not the Wizards... But why would she have wanted them to forget at all? Perhaps she could've put some sort of protection spell on them that might have broken when she was old enough to defend herself at least... Why in blazes wouldn't they want help? So many [[PlotHole plotholes...]]
*** The amnesia was set up so that Roxy would not be found out and put in danger if Morgana lost to the Black Circle (Which she did) and therefore the Wizards were unable to find her while she was too young to defend herself.
* Does Mitzi know about Bloom and her friend being fairies when she sees them in Believix form?
* Why can't Roxy use other wings in her Believix form?
** My guess is that she is inexperienced.
** While the guesses below were good, I always thought that she just got an incomplete Believix, just as Bloom got an incomplete Enchantix on Pyros. She was unable to use her other wings because she took a shortcut.
** Bloom says Roxy doesn't have Believix POWERS. That could mean she has Believix, but not powers associated with Believix.
*** The Winx gained their Believix via Roxy. Her newfound belief may have caused her to skip to this special transformation instead of the standard series leading to Enchantix. This skip ahead may be the cause of her having the form, but NOT the powers.
*** Sirenix kind of tosses the "secret class"/Winx only idea of the post-Enchantix transformations, due to Daphne having obtained it.
** I think Roxy's form is called Belivix in doll's commercials mostly because they wanted to avoid confusion and because marketing of doll's company doesn't care enough. In my opinion, we have seen that basic fairy forms have very different looks when compared to one another.Just compare Miele, Tecna or Diaspro. They have pretty much nothing in common outfit-wise.
Tecna's wings even extend to the point of forming a mouse arrow. So, for me, Roxy just has basic fairy level and that's the way it looks for her.
* I know Winx is not really big when it comes to staying true to their canon but consider this. Stella should've earned her Believix in the very first Winx episode, when she made Bloom and her parents believe in fairies and Roxy should've earned her Enchantix when saving the Earth fairies, or protecting her dad from the wizards of the dark circle.
** I think Enchantix acts a gateway to achieving other higher up transformations. So you can't gain Believix without gaining Enchantix first. As for Roxy, isn't she already in Believix? Some people say it's Magic Winx that just looks like Believix. Maybe the Earth fairies do transformations differently compared to Magical Dimension fairies, so that's why.
* Where did the Winx Club go in the end of season 4?
** Back to Magix and probably back to Alfea.
** Actually, judging by how Season 4 ended and Season 5 started, I always thought they stayed on Earth to live out the lives they'd made there (Musa's music career, the pet shop, etc.). I'm pretty sure that something happened between them and the Trix on Earth at some point between the two seasons, considering that the Trix are not where they were sent in the end of Season 3, they've lost their powers, and Mitzi knew who the Trix were when they showed up to steal the flower from her little sister (as that doesn't seem like something the Winx would tell many people, especially Bloom's bratty rival).
** As evidenced by season 5, they decided to stay on Earth for awhile since they liked the place. It was a good place to relax after their adventures in season 4. They presumably closed down Love and Pet and turned down Jason's music offer since neither are mentioned in season 5. Musa is the only one that might consider staying on Earth though, due to having music connections thanks to Jason Queen. Bloom, Stella, and Aisha all have duties elsewhere. Tecna and Flora like Earth, but they don't have as much of a reason to stay there except the band.
* Why does Riven have a Union Jack wifebeater? He's from another planet - is there an alien Britain out there somewhere?
** Maybe it's just a fashion statement? After all, fairies from Earth did exist prior to whatever happened in the fourth season, so it's not that huge a leap to think that one liked the pattern to bring some clothing from his/her home planet. Alternatively, he may have bought it on Earth- as this troper remembers seeing it only in the Fourth Season, correct me if wrong.
*** Nope, he was wearing it as early as S1.
** Stella mentions at one point in the 4kids dub that Earth invented platform heels, so it seems at least in that universe there's some trading of fashion.
** I wouldn't worry too much about it though. If you think about sociology, everything we see as normal could've been different. That's like wondering why Alfea has stairs, considering fairies can fly. Magix is filled with 'Earth-ish' things. From objects to expressions. I suppose the creators just didn't really think this through.
* Why didn't Bloom try to use [[ForgottenPhlebotinum her healing powers]] to save Nabu?
** maybe because she knew that about 3 episodes later he would be walking around again?
** Bad writing and plot convenience. Bloom has so many random powers the authors often seem to forgive which ones she had. Take her ability to see aura's for an instance. It's only mentioned in earlier seasons.
** I also like to believe Bloom's healing powers only activate when she's feeling extremely strong emotions. Sure Nabu dying is terrible, but Sky was her boyfriend. It's only normal she'd react heavier to that.
*** But oh well... At least she could try to heal Nabu. I guess plot inconvenience is only excused when it's used for Bloom.
* That (previous sentence): why the HECK is a DEAD guy walking around again? (Without Bloom/other super healing power actively bringing him back...) And no, it ain't even a glitch in the animation, because he returns in the FREAKING MOVIE!
** The second movie started production in 2007, when the ''first'' movie was still being made. The fourth season hadn't even been drafted yet. Believix is pretty much the only thing from season 4 that made it into the movie.
** Nabu's appearance in the last episode of season 4 was an animation error.
* What the hell are Layla's Powers? She's the fairy of water? Courage? Plastic? Condoms? Really, her attacks aren't that clear a theme to figure out (to me anyway).
** She's the [[ThatCameOutWrong fairy of fluids]].
** Apparently, she controls a substance called Morphix. It is virtually shiny, pink clay.
** Considering her home realm is mostly aquatic, her powers were likely meant to be water-based. Her morphix also could also be seen as a thick, water-like fluid, and her title was changed from fairy of fluids to fairy of waves, further connecting her to water, more specifically, the ocean.
* How did the Trix get out of the Realix realm?
** How did the Trix get INTO the Realix realm in first place?
** Forget that plothole, I'm still wondering how they went from Megatrix to just regular Trix. And losing their Gloomix to boot.
** My guess is the Winx or Faragonda or Griffen informed that guy squad that the Trix were in the Realix realm, so the guy squad came, took them, turned them back into individual witches again, took and destroyed their Gloomixes, and then froze the witches. That's how they are the first time we see them in season 3 when the guy squad drops them in the Omega Dimension.
* Why does the English dub of the movie (and a few dubs derived from it) [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTN60xQs9W0 have scenes cut out]]? The dubbers don't have the same excuse as 4Kids of having to fit the show in a US timeslot...
* What did Morgana mean when she said she would look after Nabu [[NeverSayDie until he wakes up]]?
** It could mean that Nabu put himself in a coma. If he's in a coma instead of dead, then it's possible for him to wake up.
** I genuinely believe Nabu died, especially because he asks Aisha/Layla in a bad dream 'Why did you let me die?'. However, kid channels, especially Nickelodeon are extremely strict with showing deaths on screen (the creators of Avatar The Last Airbender had to let Jet die off-screen for example). I'm pretty certain Morgana made that statement to shoo away the Moral Guards that wouldn't allow such a scene to be displayed.
*** However we're talking about Winx Club. I wouldn't be surprised if Nabu deus ex machina'd himself back into a later season.
*** But remember kids, it's Winx so that'll only happen if they run out of ideas for drama and are like: "Hey remember that dude we killed off in Season 4? Well Layla's about to marry Nex so let's shove him into the show again." The more random and out of place his comeback would be, the more Winx-y it is.
*** Or the current writers already forgot about his existence. Just like they forgot about Bloom's extra powers, the fact that Daphne was canonically dead or that Stella initially had moon powers too.
* Why is Nebula DrivenToSuicide after defeating the Fairy Hunters?
** Because she feels guilty about everything she's done and thinks she's just as bad as them.
* Red Fountain is a military academy, which trains its students in the arts of war. Even if most of them are just there for ceremonial reasons, the fact that it still exists suggests that at least one planet which sends students to Magix must have an army of fully trained, possibly experienced soldiers. Why, then, at the end of S1, didn't anyone think to call in this military force, instead entrusting the defense of Alféa to a force of inexperienced, partially-trained teenagers? Even though the teens were capable of repelling the invasion, it just makes sense to have as many fighters as possible to maximize the probability of victory.
** If this troper recalls properly, it was stated very early on in the war that communication had been cut off. Most of the Magical Dimension probably didn't even KNOW there was a war until after it was won.
** But surely if ALL communication was cut off, relatives and friends would think that something was very wrong there, right? If you couldn't reach your daughter/son no matter what you did, surely you'd begin to get worried and try to go and check on them...
** Heraklyon had probably noticed: in her second appearance in S1, Diaspro tries and pull a GunshipRescue to save Sky (and only Sky: she told him to let the plebeians die for him because he was a prince and would have ruled one day), and uses a vehicle ''identical'', both in model and markings, to the one used by the Heraklyon Royal Guard to bring him back home in the first movie. Sadly, as shown in S2, Heraklyon has a fair share of political problems (a minor local lord who was known to have made attempts on Sky's life was still around and ruling his domain years later, free to openly kidnap Diaspro and demanding enough money to bankrupt the entire planet as ransom. And the king of the planet flat-out admitted that if he didn't pay Diaspro's parents would have him deposed), and the inability to coordinate a hunt for Valtor in S3 hints at a lack of cooperation ability between the various kingdoms. These problems (and possibly treaties) would have slowed down the launch of a counteroffensive. Interestingly, in the last episodes of the season the Trix seemed to be in a hurry, so maybe military forces ''were'' coming to the rescue...
* In season 3's episode 21, when Layla shows the others that Nabu (who was at the time using the fake name Ophir) had stowed away on their ship, Sky exclaims: "Him again?" But Sky and the other specialists hadn't even met Nabu at that point, so how could Sky possibly recognize him?
** Bloom probably told him about their first encounter.
* When exactly does the second movie take place? Based on what we know about the movie so far, and the events of season 4, I can't really figure it out...
** Since the second movie started production while the first was still being made, it was based on ideas from the third season and doesn't easily fit into the series' story. It doesn't really follow season four since the season hadn't been written yet. Only Believix was conceptualized early enough to make it into the film.
* How old is Morgana?
** Honestly, she could be the age of a normal adult or she could be over hundreds of years old. It's shown in the show that magical beings, like fairies, age slower. Faragonda turned out to be at least over a 100 years old so it could go either way.
* Was it really necessary to introduce the Believix transformation? I mean, those extra sets of wings are cool and all that, but Enchantix was like supposed to be the final fairy form. And Bloom's Enchantix wasn't even complete until after the events of the first movie, so you'd think she'd be happy that she had managed to gain her full Enchantix even though it was thought to be impossible, but no, once she learns there's another transformation level she immediately decides that she would rather be a Believix fairy...
** Believix is supposedly only meant for Earth and it's highly unlikely that any fairies outside of the Winx Club could achieve it.
*** Believix is not only achievable on Earth, it can be earned anywhere by getting people to believe in magic. Earth is simply one of the few places where there are people who don't believe in magic.
*** Then wouldn't Stella have gained hers pretty early? IIRC, she got Bloom's parents to believe. Also, it doesn't seem to be much of a higher form, because Believix requires a fairy to get more people to believe otherwise her powers would weaken, right? Believix also has two (or more) sub-transformations that can be gifted, so maybe Believix is more of a semi-cosmetic kind of thing? I mean, it doesn't work under water and really only seems to be strong on Earth, maybe because Earth seems to be the ''only'' place where people don't believe in magic. Also, I say semi-cosmetic because the Lovix did keep the girls, minus Roxy, from freezing to death and Sophix made them one with nature. (which does nothing for Flora, huh?)
** My guess is that Enchantix is the standard final level that all fairies can attain. Other subsequent transformations however, require certain power types, spells or are only earnable within certain realms...
** I feel like people are thinking too much about this. It's just a plothole. Stella should've gained her Believix a long time ago, but she didn't because the creators weren't planning on a transformation after Enchantix. Winx was supposed to end after 3 seasons and a movie. Bloom found her real parents, got her full Enchantix, et voila, the story had a satisfying ending. However. Nick started producing Winx and shitting out sequels cuz of the sweet taste of money. They started stretching out the story and just made every season about gaining a new transformation.
*** I mean, considering how Winx is Rainbow's [[CashCowFranchise Cash Cow Franchise]], it'd be a little weird if they just gave up on the show. More transformations means more toys to sell. On top of that making every season about achieving a new transformation, makes the writing easier and less complex. So basically they can create a ton of extra seasons, without a tight plot. And can you blame them? Winx' success is massive. It's even that successful [[AllAnimationIsDisney the biggest animation company ever]] was inspired by Winx' popularity to make their own [[DisneyFairies fairy spin-off]].
* In the first movie, Nabu only has a cameo appearance at the end. So, where was he for most of the movie? Why didn't he come along on the mission?
* So, since the re-modeled Red Fountain is floating in mid-air, how exactly does visitors get up there?
** Elevator, I assume? I think it was once shown that the school has an elevator, but I can't remember.
** I always thought that it was some form of teleporters.
* How come no one in Cloud Tower, including the teachers, noticed that Mirta was missing after she was turned into a pumpkin? I mean, come on. Do they even keep track of their own students? I mean sure, some of them are jerkass witches, but they must have noticed something weird. I mean usually, teachers notice if a student hasn't come to classes, so why didn't they just make a search?
** Well, the witches are allowed to cause trouble, but get in trouble if they're caught. Perhaps they thought Mirta was ditching school and thought nothing of it, since, if she really had been, she'd only get in trouble if she was caught doing so. Or it might be that since Mirta was a nice witch, they figured she somehow transferred to Alfea.
** I always believed, especially after seeing the Trix take down Miss Griffin and two teachers a few episodes later, that Miss Faragonda told her about what happened, but Miss Griffin realized that there was really no way she could force Icy to change Mirta back, so she just brushed it under the rug and told everyone to act like nothing was wrong. When you consider that the Trix blow through the barriers Miss Griffin sets up when Bloom and Skye rescue the other witches right before the finale in a few minutes, and that they can easily take over Cloud Tower pretty much every season, that doesn't sound all that farfetched.
** The Trix only beat Griffin when they had the Dragon Flame, which they didn't have when they changed Mirta, so that can't be it. Besides, if Flora eventually managed it, it's hard to believe Faragonda or Griffin couldn't help Mirta. It's likely that Griffin noticed that Mirta went missing, but she didn't know where to look since the Winx never bothered to tell anybody about what happened to Mirta.
* Why did Mirta go from being a [[CuteWitch witch]] to turning into a fairy? It almost seems to have some UnfortunateImplications, since it gives you the feeling that in order to be good, you can't be a witch (and I believe this series has [[MageSpecies witches as a race/species]], not just a magical group that's evil). I always thought her being the one witch-student at Alfea would make for a nice DarkIsNotEvil {{aesop}}. I mean, why not, right?
** It may have been because she transferred to Alfea and was learning fairy magic instead of witchcraft. She wouldn't have been able to perform fairy magic if she remained a witch. Also, the aesop is not completely ruined. They just did the opposite one. Diaspro is a fairy, but is an antagonist, which would say LightIsNotGood.
** Mirta also probably thought that she would fit in better at Alfea.
** WordOfGod says that witch or fairy is a choice- all girls in the magic dimension are the same species, they each of base magic, and they choose what they want to use it for. Besides the wings, they're effectively the same, but use different sorts of magic.
*** Adding to this, it's explained in the episode where the Winx Club protects Cloud Tower. Witches use darkness and negative emotion to power themselves, while fairies use light and positive emotion (and a Cloud Tower teacher is rather spooked when Musa proves capable of conjuring a lot of negative energy). Both are meant to be good, so the difference is one of personality. Mirta didn't like the things that power witches, so she was more suited to be a fairy.
*** It still kind of gives off unfortunate implications since two witches, Mirta and the 6th season villain Selina, have decided to become fairies at the end instead of just being good witches and using their powers for good. It's obvious they aren't trying to be mean or biased towards witches, though.
*** As mentioned above. Witches use negative emotions and such to fuel their power. They're supposed to cause havoc. Witches and fairies are in the Winx universe basically the same thing. The only difference is that fairies follow the 'good path' whereas witches don't. Witches are portrayed as evil because they chose to be. Sure it would be cool to see some nice witches, but the writers of the show aren't too big on character development so I don't see that happen any time soon.
* Pixie Village is located on the outskirts of Alfea or somewhere near, right? Layla in Season 2 is shown to have snuck out of the royal palace as a child to go visit the pixies. Problem? She lives in The Realm Of Tides/Andros, which is a whole other dimension. Tell me, how does a little girl manage to teleport herself between one realm and back so frequently with no help at all?
** I believe it was stated in one episode that the pixies moved their village for safety after Darkar kidnapped them. Also, in the case of teleportation, Layla appears to be about 12 in her flashbacks. Not really that little.
* The media in Gardenia has been covering the news of the fact that magic exists since the Winx revealed themselves. Has the show given evidence to show that the rest of the world knows as well?
* Even after the Wizards of the Black Circle are defeated, do Mitzi, Sally and Dharma still have the powers they were given?
** No. [[StatusQuoIsGod They already lost their powers in the same episode the got them.]]
* Why don't we ever see Faragonda or Griselda transform when they have to fight? Have they achieved some sort of state where they can use their full power without transforming or something?
** That actually could be plausible. Plus, considering how fairy outfits generally look (small tops and mini-skirts/shorts/dresses), that might be a good thing.
* So... If there were Earth Fairies on Earth, why aren't there any Earth Witches?
** Its possible there are some they are just living in hiding from the wizards and was questioning the good idea of telling all nonmagical people of earth that magic exists which the Winx were doing. Or back when the back started going after the fairies the two sides made of deal that the wizards would leave the witches alone if the witches didn't help the fairies.
* When the Fairy Hunters hunted and imprisoned all the Earth fairies, why the hell did none of the fairies from other worlds come to Earth to help? Or why did none of the Earth fairies think to ask for help?
* What is Chimera's power source anyway?
** It seems to be extreme emotion; I think one of her spells is called "Temper" something, and she seems pretty riled up when she uses it.
** Presumably it's light since she comes from Solaria. She never specializes in anything on-screen though.
* Bloom is supposed to be 16 in season one, right? Supposedly, the show is set in America and not Italy. Does this mean Bloom went to Alfea without finishing high school? If that's the case, why is it never brought up? I get that Stella was likely not going to stick around for two years, but it seems odd to me that Bloom's parents have no qualms about allowing her to attend a college when she hasn't even graduated high school yet.
** Mitzi ''did'' bring it up in Season 1. As why Bloom got away with it... [[AWizardDidIt Magic?]]
** Alfea seems more like a Japanese high school (starting at 10th grade/16 years old) than a college. Besides, I don't really remember Mitzi commenting on Bloom going to college so much as asking how she got kicked out of boarding school, though it's been a while and I might have remembered that wrong.
** It's much simpler than that. In most European countries a 'college' is the name for a private high school or boarding school. The show originates from Italy. Collegio mostly refers to boarding schools. What's called a college in English, is called Liceo over there.
* So, in the first movie, the Ancient Witches thought that Bloom was dead, since they didn't see Daphne sending her to Earth. However, during S3, Bloom talks with them and says that she's the princess of Domino. As you can see, this does not compute.
** No offense, but this Troper doesn't see how that 'does not compute'. How is it relevant for the Witches to know Bloom's alive or not for her to introduce herself as a Princess of Domino?
** Because if Bloom reveals herself as being the princess of Domino, that would mean she's alive. In other words, that the witches ''didn't'' kill everyone of Domino. Yet, in the movie, they thought she was dead. So they forgot there was one survivor left?
*** Ah, that way... You're right. That does not compute. Like some of the other stuff at times.
* What's Morgana's power source?
* What is Nabu's MagicStaff made of? When Ogron breaks it in half in S4 episode 13, as well as one of the halves breaking in half pretty easily when Ogron threw it into Sky's path causing him to step on it, it would seem to suggest it would be made of wood Yet when Nabu uses the (apparently repaired) staff in episode 18 of S4 to break apart the giant vines attacking the Specialists, the sound of the staff slicing through the vines suggest that it is made of metal.
** Maybe he had ''two'' staves. The first wooden and the second metallic or plated.
* How long were the Earth fairies locked away? Morgana claims to have been trapped for centuries, but Roxy, born before the Earth fairies were imprisoned, is still only a teenager.
** Had only the Earth fairies said that, then it could have been [[HandWave handwaved]] away by saying that for them it was like YearInsideHourOutside. However, both Faragonda and the Wizards of the Black Circle throw around the word centuries, so that option is out. It's possible Morgana somehow sent Roxy, Klaus, and Artu into the future somehow, but that seems unlikely since no hint of TimeTravel was ever mentioned, plus in Morgana's flashback Gardenia seemed pretty modern. Since Hagen also uses centuries to describe the last time the Company of Light was together when they had fought the Ancestral Witches less then two decades ago, the most likely explanation seems to be that nobody in the Winx Club universe knows what the word century means. The Earth fairies were probably trapped for less than two decades.
** Maybe the first fairy was sealed centuries ago and Morgana was one of the last fairies that were recently sealed away?
* Why did the Winx seem so surprised to visit the Magic Archive (in Season5), when they had already visited it during the 2nd season? The only ones who should be awe-struck are the Specialists.
** Even if they have seen it before, it's still an impressive room that they haven't seen in a while. Not to mention that it's probably changed a little bit since they last visited the Magic Archive. Alternatively, there are two Magic Archives in Alfea, which may explain why Concorda, the pixie that is supposed to be bonded to the Archives, is nowhere to be found.
* Why don't the Underwater Pixies warn all of the rest of the gate keepers to hide so Tritannus doesn't steal their powers?
** Because as gatekeepers, their job is to guard the gate. Most likely, they feel obligated to put up some kind of fight.
* Bloom has been shown to have some knowledge on fairies and fairy tales even before first meeting Stella (she even recognized what Knut was!). How comes she didn't think realize that [[TheFairFolk Earth Fairies]] could be rather genocidal after being imprisoned for decades, maybe even centuries?
** Because those fairy tales, as Stella said, were written by humans. Creatures like ogres are common in scary fairy tales for children, so of course, Bloom would recognize one. In other words, Bloom's "knowledge" was fiction-based. She only knew stories written by humans, which, of course, wouldn't include the actual history.
** A very accurate fiction: your common modern fairy is pretty much like Stella, Palladium is an elf and looks like one, Wizgiz is a Leprechaun and looks like one, and the seat of Earth fairies is ''exactly'' where Irish mythology says the group of fairies called Tuatha Dé Danann settled after being defeated by the Milesian invaders. Between that and Nebula's omnicidal rage, it should have told her that ''maybe'' Earth fairies were a little unhinged when compared to those of other realms...
*** "Modern Fairy" is the right term for describing Stella. There are lots of children books which don't portray fairies the way older fairies. Remember Cinderella and her ''Fairy'' Godmother? Sleeping Beauty and the Fairies who came to grant her gifts, no catch at all? It's entirely possible that her storybooks were more of the Victorian image of fairies in which they were kind, beautiful and magical rather than the older, traditional stories were they were...yeah...
* How come Diaspro has reappeared in Season 5? Her deal with Valtor in Season 3 costed her a banishment, as mentioned by Sky back then, yet no fuss is made of her reappearance, even if it was for a good cause ([[spoiler:insufferable as she is, she could have been really useful in helping the amnesiac Sky recover his memory]]). Only possible explanations are that she reformed off-screen (she doesn't interact with Bloom but doesn't appear hostile) and was allowed to return home, or that she got a temporary lift of the banishment because it was requested by the princess of Flora's planet.
** All that is known about Diaspro's punishment is that she was banished from Eraklyon. She's probably been chilling somewhere else, since she's probably still rich. Crystal likely doesn't know the full details of what Diaspro did, so while trying to help Sky she came across Diaspro and asked for her help. As for why no one is concerned about her doing anything, well she's not much of a threat. She's not a monster with a large amount of power, nor is she a brilliant schemer. Bloom is busy at the time, and Brandon can keep an eye on her just in case. Besides, she does want to help him, even if she has had terrible dealings with the Winx in the past, so they'll let it slide.
** As of Episode 16 of season 5 Diaspro apparently is now allowed inside the palace, acting as an aid to Sky's parents. In fact in the episode itself she gets 'promoted' as it were to be the King's liaison and is sent to retrieve Sky. Either her banishment was lifted at some point, or everyone forgot that she was banished at all. She's not a brilliant schemer as said before, but she apparently can make any situation work for her.
* What happened to the Patchamen? At the end of the episode they appeared in Bloom tricked them in going to Earth, but after that...
* So...HOW is Tritannus's family related to Aisha? If they are truly blood related that would mean that one of Aisha's parents is a sibling to one of Tritannus's parents. Aisha, though affiliated with water, is clearly not part mermaid and none of the merpeople are ever seen taking human form or coming on land(the conference on Domino even had to take place in a room with a giant pool so that Tressa and her brother could take part). Even if it's possible for merpeople and the land dwellers to procreate, there's still the mermaid problem.
** In the season finale King Teredor calls King Neptune brother, but yeah that doesn't explain the whole mermaid/human thing
*** Not to mention I kind of start to wonder how 'race' and skin color work in the Winx universe. Literally do Aisha's father and Neptune have the same parents?
*** This is honestly... not above what I've seen from real royal families. I mean just look at Prince Edward and William, they look almost nothing alike. It's intresting to imagine Neptune is the red-headed bastard of the family while Aisha's father is the full blooded biological son of the main royal family. In fact, maybe that's why Neptune is a merman, his mother is a mermaid and Aisha's father slipped away to get some and then went back home then Neptune was later lucky enough to become king over not getting the thrown. Also is Neptune older than Aisha's father... this needs to be talked aobut more!
* So The Trix and Tritannus are torturing Daphne for info on Sirenix. Um, Daphne's a spirit and therefore shouldn't be able to feel physical pain, but The Trix manage to hurt her and even keep her in one place. Yeah, they are using magic, but as I said, Daphne has no physical body, so shouldn't the spells be ineffective?
** We've seen occasions where Bloom has been able to touch Daphne and, in the first movie, they were shown hugging. So although she's a spirit, it's safe to say Daphne is capable of physical contact.
* For the last few seasons and the movies Stella introduces herself as "the fairy of the shining sun", but don't her powers also come from the moon? Shouldn't this also make her the fairy of the moon?
** Nickelodeon changed her title from "fairy of the sun and the moon" to "fairy of the shining sun" because any moon-related powers were rarely shown. Throughout the entire series, she was only shown using a moon-related power twice. This also makes her relation with stars more plausible because the sun is a star whereas the moon is not.
* What is Beta Academy? I know it's Chimera's school, but is it for fairies or witches? Also, how many magic schools are there? Alfea, CloudTower, and RedFountain seem to be the top schools, but some dialog seems to indicate that there are more schools out there.
** There are likely many schools. Chimera is apparently a fairy, but she also appears to be younger than Stella, so Beta Academy may be the equivalent of middle school for fairies.
*** I would need to watch it again, or check if it was a dub thing, but when Chimera first appears with her two friends they proceed to knock down Alfea suggesting that there is some animosity between schools, which is unlikely if Beta is a middle school. It was more implied that it's an alternate school for magic. That said, what kind of school is Alfea anyway? Bloom is 16 when she goes in S1, so is therefore still in high school but it's often referred to being a college. And then the girls are basically "graduated" and were teachers at the start of S4 but suddenly back to attending classes in S5. No real explanation is given at any point other then the implication that they consistently have to improve their magical abilities.
*** It's an Italian thing high schools are called colleges and colleges are called universities.
*** Not exactly: it's only in the US that 'college' means university, while in the rest of the world it's ''any'' school, especially if it's a boarding school (college initially was just the boarding for university students who couldn't both pay the books and tuition at the same time of the food and a place to sleep), and at most is ''part'' of an university. Incidentally, when an Italian talks of a 'collegio' (the equivalent of college) he's usually talking of a boarding school, so that, and Eton College, are the reasons both Alfea and Cloudtower are referred as colleges.
*** In season 6 it's confirmed that there are other magic schools, so far we've seen Lynphea College where Flora's siste Miele goes, the Golden Auditorium, and the Eraklyon Institute where Diaspro goes
* Whatever happened to Diaspro being a fairy? After season 1, she never transforms or uses her own powers. And wasn't she a princess? Why would a snotty, spoiled princess give up being royal to become an attendant to a king who had previously banished her?
** Diaspro seems to care more about trying to win Sky back than anything else. If it allows her to keep Sky away from Bloom, she'll go for it.
*** [[RootingForTheEmpire And I say she go for it!]]
*** And she does! In season 6 she appears again, attempting to assist the Trix because she wants Bloom out of the way (despite the fact the Skye has continued to show no interest in her.) She is invited to Daphne's coronation (for some reason???) and when the ball gets attacked, she does transform into a fairy to "help" revive Bloom. She eventually just disappears....
* Are the Trix related by blood? I know each of them are descended from one of the ancestral witches and they call each other "sister", but they certainly don't look related. One episode (in season 3, I think?) does imply that they were raised together...
** Siblings do not have to look like each other to be related. Flora and her sister don't. In RealLife, some people who remain friends throughout childhood, especially if the friendship started in toddlerhood, grow up to have a sibling-like bond with each other. This may be what happened with the Trix.
** They're sisters; triplets born on May 5. One of the ancestral witches was their direct ancestor while the other two were distant ancestors. In that episode, they just forgot how they used to look when they were kids, which isn’t all that shocking since there are lots of people who look back on old family photos and forget how they and their siblings/relatives used to look when they were younger. They're sisters.
* Why does no one seem upset that Bloom is messing with the balance of nature by wishing Daphne back to life? I mean, Musa decides not to use her Sirenix wish to revive her mother for this very reason!
** There's a difference between reviving a dead person (Musa's mother) and restoring a disembodied spirit (Daphne). Bloom's wish was for the Sirenix curse to be broken, not specifically for Daphne's revival.
*** OP here. I seem to recall that in seasons 1 to 4 and the movies Daphne is consistently referred to as being dead(more to the point she was killed by the ancestral witches on Domino)then in season 5 NICK said she was killed by the Sirenix curse(so still dead, just by a different means). Therefore if Bloom's wish was just to break the Sirenix curse shouldn't Daphne still be dead or at least gone on to a higher plane of existence? Bloom's wish was not specifically for Daphne's revival yet somehow she is revived anyway,so isn't that still messing with the balance of nature?
* How old is Daphne? She has Sirenix so does that mean she has Winx, Charmix, and Enchantix too? If so, she would have been at least 18 by the time Bloom was born, but then how old were Oritel and Marion when Daphne was born?
** NegativeContinuity is to blame here. In season two, Bloom dreams of seeing her parents as a newborn baby and Daphne appears to be no older than ten years old. When she's shown carrying Bloom out of danger to Earth, she looks at least 18. Bloom is 16 years old at the start of the show and, assuming the characters have aged, whether Daphne was 10 or 18 when Bloom was born, there is no way she could be under 30. And if she's 18 years older than Bloom, that puts her near 40!
* How is Miele 16? When we first see her, she's half Flora's height! She looks no older than 6 or 7. I once read somewhere that she was ten at that time. So in three seasons, this little girl aged around 6-10 years? Even if the two movies each count as a year, Miele should not be 16.
** Because! Um... well. [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall EXTREEEEEME!]] Seriously though, it's just because the writers said so. No other reason.
** Okay, sorry but... are we so ignorant about Miele's age that we can't just suggest that maybe she was 13 in season 3? I counted and if Flora was 18 in the 3rd season and Miele is in Alfea (Or whatever the school was called) college in season 6 then maybe she was freaking 13! I mean thirteen year old kids can still look young. She might even by 10 or 12 because if you count by season 3, plus the movies, she'd be around fifteen if she was 10 and seventeen if she was 12! If she was ten and got into an Alfea college at 15 that would make sense, she could've gotten into college early, it can happen. Bloom got in pretty easily. She's not six or eight because pictures of her looking around 10, 12 or 13. We can't factor that out. Then there's the added part that maybe the people on Flora's planet age differently, this is another universe. This troper is just saying that we shouldn't take out all the options.
*** Because a 13-year-old child would ''not'' be that small! Looking young is one thing. Being the size of a toddler is another. Even a ten-year-old child would be taller than that. What you're going into is essentially WildMassGuessing. Nothing in the show suggests fairies age differently than humans. Miele's age in season 3 is never officially stated, so it is possible she was six, give or take a few years. Considering Winx was supposed to end after the first movie, Miele probably was never meant to be seen again, so the writers of the show at that time didn't think to give her a proper age. The current writers have retconned several plot points already, so as the first answerer said, Miele is 16 in season 6 because the writers wanted her to be 16. That's it.
*** Hi, I'm the person who posted the explanation that Miele might have been 10 or 13 in her first appearance and that's why she was 16 in the sixth season. Yeah after reading the reply to my stupid explanation, I have to agree that my reason makes no sense and is just wild guessing. Even if the aging is different for fairies, which it isn't since Bloom, Roxy and Selina aged like normal teenage girls, I doubt a ten-year-old would be the size of a six-year-old unless she had a medical condition. I figured out, or guessed, that the writers wanted to bring this character back, but they needed a good reason so they bumped her age to 16, this is just wild guessing again, but it makes more sense than my old explanation. Sorry.
*** To be fair, it is possible, as I have a ten year old friend who likes like a first grader due to having stunted growth. But besides that... I have two words "Winx Logic".
* Um... nothing really major just something I know that bothers fans including me, Bloom acts so coldly towards her adopted parents after finding out about said adoption and starts calling them Mike and Vannessa but is so close to her real ones who she barely knows. I found this weird because Bloom's adopted parents treated her well and loved them but after finding out the truth she treated them like they were always her foster parents. Now I don't know any adopted people so I'm not sure this 100% realistic but on the other hand this could be how some adopted kids act so it's not my place to judge I'm just glad her real parents were super nice and fun because if they weren't I don't know what I'd do then. I'm glad her adopted parents are still in the picture though so at least she can say she has 4 parents to love! Lucky Mary Sue :)
** I had found that annoying as well. Sure they didn't tell her she was adopted, but they didn't abuse her and raised her pretty well. I don't exactly get how that relationship works in real life, but I doubt it would be like this.
* After the latest season I start to wonder: how the hell did Bloom fail to find the counters for the various Legendarium monsters? She was established since the start as a fairy tales aficionado, she should have known how to counter the products of those legends coming from Earth. In fact I can see her using the legend of the Snow Queen and Musa's rocky relationship with Riven to lure Icy close enough to just bash her on the head...
** That doesn't mean she knows ''all'' of the fairytales. Perhaps those particular tales are a bit less popular than some others.
** Let's see said legends: [[{{Mummy}} Mummies]], a classic monster to a modern westerner that any of the Winx should have been able to defeat without trying; a sphinx [[RiddlingSphinx whose shtick is known to pretty much everyone]] (and in fact acted ''exactly'' like the mythical one when Chatta gave the answer), yet she failed to demand the riddle (then again, it was met in Egypt and the riddling one was in Greece, thus she could have been thrown off by that); the Green Dragons are a relative unknown (I personally know of the pearl, but couldn't tell how to save my life), so this one is forgivable; the Children of the Night are ''vampires'', and there's ''no way'' she could have not known how to deal with them (sure, the garlick may have failed, but she didn't even try with their other traditional weaknesses. One of which, sunlight, ''annihilated'' them); the traditional weakness of zombies is salt, but with Romero's movies it's not that well known anymore (not that it was a problem, given how weak they were); [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Werewolves]] are another well known monster whose weakness is famous, yet it took Daphne to reveal it; the Snow Queen's legend ''should'' not be well known, except for [[WesternAnimation/Frozen2013 a certain well-known movie]] that should have caused her curiosity; the Minotaur, being from Myth/ClassicalMythology, is well known in Italy (and this is an ''Italian'' series, so no excuses), but then again the monster's weaknesses vary with the version and all involve enough physical strength to drive a sword or a bull's horn in a bull's skull, something ''none'' of the Winx has; the FrankensteinsMonster is the goddamn' Frankenstein Monster, she should have known how to deal with it (or at least that lightning made it stronger); and Rumpelstiltskin's legend is relatively well known, and the solution should have been obvious (my solution would have been a lawyer). Going by this, she should have known how to defeat most of them, yet she failed to find the solution.
* Why don't we ever see Daphne as a stronger fighter? In the fights this troper has seen, she always seems to be at the same level as the Winx and has had to wait for Bloom to bail them all out of a fight in at least one case. But she's a nymph, and should be a whole lot more powerful than any of the Winx. Why don't we ever see her put that nymph mask back and start curbstomping the villains who attack?
** My guess is they wanted to focus more on the Winx club girls and decided to have Daphne be the faithful big sister.
* If Roxy was the last Earth fairy, how did Selina go unnoticed by the Black Circle? Bloom's powers hadn't manifested yet but a younger Selina is shown training under Eldora.... on Earth. What the hell?
** Basically negative continuity. Which isn't really a bad thing, it's just they seemed to want to add in a new villain who knew Bloom and that was the best way to explain it.
** Eldora might've used a spell to disguise the existence of Selina's magic. That, or becoming a witch negated her fairy status and made Roxy the only remaining official fairy of Earth.
* My question is [[https://le-winx.tumblr.com/post/150437409908/kaye-star-random-thought-that-occurred-to-me here]]. Why would the creators change an already very modest outfit to a less modest one if the girls aren't supposed to be dressing so {{Stripperiffic}} anymore?
* Back to episode 1- was it ever explained exactly what Stella was doing on earth to begin with?
** If I remember correctly, she was ambushed and was forced to take the fight to earth.
* A minor gripe that still bothers me, but why did they marry Daphne off to some random guy? I know he happened to be Sky's cousin, which also isn't explained well and also comes off as weird since that's still Sky's cousin. Wouldn't Bloom find that odd and weird? And if the math is done right, they were only together for a month and a half, at most. To be fair, in history people have gotten married after a short time of being together... some quicker then others, but Daphne just got brought back to life after 18 years of being a spirit. Shouldn't she be, like, preparing to rule her kingdom? Or marrying an actual prince on Domino to help rebuild the kingdom? I know this isn't a huge thing, but it really bothers me. Sorry for complaining if it bothers anyone.
** No worries, it bothered me too. Especially because the marriage was shoehorned into the plot that randomly? Like it went from 0 to 100 real quick. From some awkward teenage-level blushing to Daphne randomly announcing her marriage and literally getting married in the next scene without any preparation. You'd expect different from a royal wedding.
** As Daphne is named after the Greek nymph with the same name, I like to believe the creators did this as a wink to the original myth, where Daphne refused to get married and turned herself into a Laurel tree.
* Why do the Winx have to give up their current powers to get new ones? From their original forms to Enchantix, it makes sense because their powers weren't fully mature yet, but why does it do that with their newer powers? Believix requires getting someone to believe in magic. Sirenix has this trial. Bloomix needs the power of the dragon flame. Butterflix means you have to be a guardian of the fairy animals. Mythix and Tynix require special items. If they fulfilled all the individual requirements for each, why do they have to give up what they already have? In theory, the powers should be able to coexist and they're all so different it would make more sense to keep each one and use what works best for the situation.
** As answered by season 8, they don't. They still do have their previous powers, they just settle for the latest ones they've got because it's the strongest they have. Of course, in some situations, they can eventually go back to using their previous transformations if it's more appropriate (such as using Sirenix to go underwater).
* Are the Winx unable to switch back to their normal transformation, or is the reason they never do it because their last one is always the most powerful one?
** I mean: Watching season 5 made me realize everything could've been solved way quicker with the Enchantix Fairy dust.
** Not really, fairy dust cures curses. Not dark magic or pollution.
** And the water makes their powers weaker if they're not using Sirenix or Harmonix, so their Enchantix powers are rendered useless if not on land.
* Can someone explain the Winx' intensions at the end of season 4 because it has me lost. So short recap: Aisha joins forces with Nebula to defeat the black wizards and turns herself against the Winx. After some episodes of angsting and the other girls being like: "No... Aisha! Don't choose the path of revenge!" they get into the final fight with the wizards. The Winx start attacking the wizards and Aisha and Nebula join them, after which they defeat the wizards of the black circle. Both Nebula and Aisha get a redemption arc and admit that wanting to defeat the wizards was wrong. But isn't that exactly what the Winx just did?? Aisha and Nebula still defeated the wizards at the end. So why did the Winx and Aisha have a dispute in the first place. Didn't they have the exact same goal?
** Because Aisha and Nebula wanted to KILL the Wizards of the Black Circle with extreme prejudice. The Winx settled with just freezing them in stasis and trapping them in the Omega Dimension where they won't be a threat any longer.
* In season 5, when Bloom, Tecna and Aisha try to fetch the element of empathy in Zenith, Aisha and Tecna get into a random kind of OOC fight. Was this because they inhaled pollution or something? Or was it just bad writing?
** Bloom explicitly states it's because of the gem, as once they touch the poisonous vines on the throne, they're surrounded by a green aura and start fighting each other after Tritannus infected the place. It's only after Bloom breaks the spell over them that the aura disappears and they apologize once back to normal.
* Nereus died once and got resurrected. Sky died once and got resurrected. Nabu would've been resurrected if it weren't for the wizards to stop Aisha from doing so. So why does Musa say that even if she could, it would be wrong to bring her mother back to life? Is it because her mother has been dead for a while or because (and that's what I aspect) it'd affect the story too much.
** Perhaps it was because their deaths were more recent and would be more "acceptable" to reverse without a hitch for those concerned, while Nabu and Musa's mother were dead for much longer and it'd severely affect their lives to try (besides, the people who'd want to see them again are already busy trying to move on, it wouldn't be healthy to stay stuck in the past after so long. The ones they want to revive know that and would rather have them get closure instead).
* Why did no-one use their Sirenix wish to revive Nabu?
** Or more importantly, why did nobody use their wish to defeat Tritanus.
** The girls all had something important in mind at the time (Stella with her parents' broken relationship, Bloom with Daphne's fate and the curse on Sirenix, Tecna with her planet's loner tendencies, Aisha herself was busy with her cousin's potential death), they'd rather stop Tritannus themselves than use a wish to do so. It'd render moot any further development for them to end the chase so quickly and the guardians (and creators) only grant the Winx the wishes for the things they fought for when they know it's the right time.
** As for Nabu, like with Musa's mother, it seems bringing him back would not be "the right thing to do" for a reason or another. By the time Aisha gets her wish, she not only uses it to save her cousin instead, but has managed to move on and get over the grief of losing him.
* Why the hell did Bloom go in 'The Shark's Eye' after Politea alone? The previous episode was all about the fact that teamwork is the key to success. Heck, Tecna even used her Sirenix wish to make the people of Zenith more connected. What were you thinking, Bloom?
* What happened to Musa's Sirenix wish?
* This troper thinks [[KarmaHoudini Selina got off way too easily]], but would the Winx have been as forgiving if she actually succeeded in causing Flora's death ([[ForTheEvulz which was for her own amusement]])? Not to mention Selina [[EntitledBastard had the gall to beg the Winx for help after everything she did to them]]. When one thinks about it, she only begged for help because her own ass was in danger, not because she suddenly had a moral dilemma. She probably would have never given it second thought if Acheron actually did keep his promise to her. So would the Winx have been as forgiving in that situation? There are just some things that can't be forgiven just because they were once your friend.
* HOW is Flora listed as the second in most powerful fairy after Bloom? She faints the most during battles. On top of that Stella has proven multiple times she's the strongest outside of Bloom. In one of the earliest fight against the Trix, Stormy blasts through Tecna's shield with ease. Later on Stella is able to protect Tecna, although she's weakened by then. She's the only one that was able to hold off Dark Bloom. On top of that she held back, because she was attacking her friend. Before the Winx got together, it's also safe to assume Stella had to fight off evil all by herself. And Bloom and Stella were for a long time the only ones that fought the Trix all alone. Flora only did so in season 4, which doesn't even follow the original story anymore.
** I have multiple theories to why Flora's considered the strongest so bare with me:
*** Theory one is that it's simply because Flora is the favorite fairy of Ignio Straffi, the creator.
*** Two, Flora is, in fact, stronger, but her lack of self-confidence holds her back of truly shining in battle.
*** Three, energy-wise, Stella is stronger than Flora, however Flora has a ton of extra powers that Stella doesn't have. Stella is heavily dependent on energy blasts and the only unique additional power she has shown in earlier seasons was her ability to teleport (thanks to her scepter on top of that). Flora can create vines, sense plants and so on.
*** Four, Stella would've been considered the second in strongest fairy if it weren't for the fact that she is the most dependent on her source of energy, light. As seen in season two, being too long in the darkness weakens her drastically.
*** Or Five, we just have to accept the creators slap random facts onto their characters? Like does the fact that Musa has the highest grades of the group make sense either? Didn't think so.
* Why does Miele's transformation look that different from the Magic Winx? Does the school you attend influence what your outfit will look like or something?
* Why can Miele walk around in her fairy transformation, without her wings?

** The two questions above can be explained with: Lazy designing for the side characters. I mean after all if u look at Diaspro, her MW is also very similar to her casual wear.
* Why is Diaspro treated like a bad guy by everyone? SHE was the one who got cheated on! And also, since it's public knowledge that Sky of Erakylon was engaged to her, don't you think the citizens of Erakylon would, I dunno, shun him?
** Similar to that, in her debut episode, Diaspro gets ASSAULTED by Bloom. Diaspro, a princess, assaulted by a random girl. Yet she gets off scott free. WHAT.
** On top of that, Bloom never got any backlash in general for randomly attacking Diaspro. She didn't even apologize or realize that what she did was completely wrong.
*** Did anyone ever bother to think that the reason why Diaspro is treated like the bad guy is because she's always been a condescending brat to begin with? Sky never showed any sign of being attracted to her, in fact, seemed unhappy about it, only going along with it for diplomatic purposes. Probably because of this, a good majority of citizens also dislike Diaspro but are too scared to speak out against her in fear if what she may do.
*** Being snooty doesn't make someone deserving of being unjustly attacked. If Sky had no attraction to her, he should've cut the relationship or, if he had to go along with it, told her just that. Never is it stated Sky told Diaspro anything. The show treats **both** girls as being deceived, but we're only supposed to be sympathetic to Bloom because she's the main character. That Sky lied to both of them, and that Bloom's self-esteem is apparently so darn low, she's jealous enough to unjustly attack someone (Even without Diaspro in the picture, Bloom can be stupidly jealous at times), is swept under the rug. The entire situation is never explored beyond "Diaspro's the villain because she wants Sky". And in a show aimed at children, this is NOT how you handle relationships. Then again, Musa and Riven are proof the show has no idea what they're doing when it comes to such topics.
*** It's not just about being snooty. During the Army of Darkness attack, when Diaspro and her soldier flew in to extract Sky from the danger, she basically told him to just abandon his friends since "they're just commoners". That didn't sit well with Sky as he wouldn't take the coward's way out and abandon his fellow classmates just to save his own skin, so he rejected her offer.
*** Bloom may be crazy jealous at times, but at least she never made deals with the devil like Diaspro did, which was practically dimensional treason, all out of pettiness.
* So Layla/Aisha's blindness can be cured by the staff, but only before the sun sets. As she cures herself an episode later, we learn that there's no prophecy that said the blindness has to be cured within a specific time-set or she'll be unaible to see forever. So if that's the case, why didn't she just use the magic wand to heal her blindness the day after?
* Where the heck did Miele get red/orange hair from? Both of her parents are brunettes. Yes, her father's hair is lighter, but it looks like dark blonde at best, not any shade of red. Do Lynphean genetics work differently and a child can randomly have a hair color not in the family?
** Maybe from grandparents or stuff we haven't seen onscreen. Miele might've also been born with a hair color and asked for another one with magic, since we've seen it's possible to change someone's hair color with magic (Bloomix gives Bloom a different shade of red, Sirenix gives highlights and changes the hair under water, even Stella manages to give the girls colored streaks for a party without transforming).
** After seeing Aisha's first cousin is a pale-skin redhead, I just kind of accepted that genes and race work weirdly in this show.
* Why do the Winx girls (especially Musa) seem to be bamboozled whenever Darcy creates multiple forms of herself, despite her doings so very often ever since the second episode of the first season?
** Could be just them trying to discern the real Darcy- attacking a mindless form would give Darcy a chance to escape and/or attack the Winx.
* What happened to the fruity music bar in WOW??
** It's owned by Roxy and she's the one managing it. Any changes done to it can be explained by it taking place in a different universe.
* Why is World of Winx not considered canon? It has probably the same or a slightly less amount of contradictions when compared to Magical Adventure or recent seasons to the general plot.
** Magical Adventure can be waved off as taking place somewhere in the middle of season 4. WOW on the other hand has Roxy being part of the team, the Winx-Mobile, the girls being known as celebrities when they should already be known as fairies since at least midway in season 4 (making Venomya revealing their identities meaningless if everyone already knew), the girls living in a villa instead of in the House & Pet, Kiko missing and the lack of threats that appeared in previous Winx shows even being mentioned. It is at the very least slightly hinted that Faragonda was the one who sent them to Earth, and the comics have Sky appear in one issue (another issue has Sky and Helia appear on the cover next to Bloom and Flora). But there are waaaaaaay too many differences with the main canon to work, even moreso than whatever changes the original show had throughout it.
* In recent season 8 episode, the Winx had to enter a Magical box. They used Enchantix to do so, but shouldn't they have used Tynix?
** They may not be able to use Tynix anymore now that their Fairy Animals sacrificed themselves and left. Besides, if the Magical Box works like the Crystal Labyrinth, they might as well normally shrink themselves and the box would naturally let them in.
* So it's clear that the Winx are all very skilled fairies compared to the other girls in Alfea, graduating first, gaining all those transformations... It makes me wonder. Did they shove 5 protegees together by accident when forming the rooms in season 1? Or are the other 5 girls basically carried by Bloom?
** The latter. The show, for the most part, revolves around Bloom's life and her drama. This is the character who had ''an entire transformation'' named after her. Yeah, any girls with Bloom would've had her adventures. It just happened to be those five girls.
** Indeed, it's just a matter of lazy writing/designing as well and rainbow not feeling like expanding on any girl aside from the Winx Club. I mean even w/ Roxy who was a temporarily 7th ranger, we never got all of the believix transformations. Heck to this day we don't even know if she earned believix at all.
* 1: If Enchantix is very hard to get, how come Alfea isn't overfilled with 57 year olds who haven't had sacrificed themselves yet? It's said a few times that you can't graduate without Enchantix. 2: What's the point of Crystal Sirenix? The Winx go to Zenith in their Sirenix forms just fine, or was Rainbow running out of toys to sell?
** Presumably, said Fairies would eventually sacrifice themselves in a way or another if they deliberately started looking for a way to earn their Enchantix. Otherwise, when they're old enough, they might drop going to Alfea if they've already learned enough, or change to a school where Enchantix isn't required to graduate. As for Crystal Sirenix, the temperature on Zenith is bearable with normal winter clothing, I presume the cold on Dyamond is different but, the Winx being super strong Fairies by season 8, their magic would protect them from the cold and they wouldn't notice the difference when transforming into Crystal Sirenix.
* Assuming the quotes of the creator on the YMMV page are true, here's my headscratcher: How are complex storylines too mature for a child audience, but romantic drama plots (the same Bloom/Sky/Diaspro triangle that's been going on since ''season 1'') are deemed child-friendly and appropriate for small kids?
** Because the writers don't really care about their plots anymore, only that they have cute designs to appeal to children and pretty toys to sell.
* Why did the Winx visit Italy in one episode if Gardenia is already in said country?
** It is not, Gardenia is in California as seen whenever season 4 zooms in on Earth, the English words here and there, as well as the flashback which puts Bloom on Earth, that's where Fate even got it from.
* Musa's Chinese, why do they occasionally use kimonos even thoug they usually wear qipaos?
** She's not Chinese, she's Asian-coded. There's a difference, especially when she comes from another planet. Her culture takes inspiration from Chinese cultures but isn't limited there.
* Was Roxy based on any real person like the others were?
* Why did the 4kids dub remove the MouthScreen portion of the Season 2 Charmix transformation and Aisha's first intentional Enchantix?
** Also how come Flora didn't have one during her Charmix, and why is Musa the only one showing her uvula during her sequence? An odd nitpick for sure, but why?
* Why did Flora start being a petty [[TookALevelInJerkass jerk]] to the others (Helia especially) in season 7? This really isn't like her at all, and she got so bad even the other Winx were shocked by her somehow newfound temper.
** Getting Amarok is a lot more to handle than just small bugs or creatures they only occasionally find in the wild. Taking care of a wild wolf, even if a magic one, has got to be stressful on her, and the boys tend to either compete with the animals for the girls' affections or undermine the damage the pets do, which could get on anyone's nerves, even a NiceGirl like Flora. Odds are that she's just getting emotionally exhausted after getting her Fairy Animal because of constantly having to police her behavior, making her more cranky than usual. If it comes to her interaction with Miele however, she makes it clear she just doesn't want her little sister to be exposed to danger again, even if it comes out more harshly than what they're used to coming from her.
