* With how much they are shown to dislike Chris in later seasons (especially the Generation 1 contestants), how come no one tries to beat up Chris for being such a sadistic host who doesn't care if they die on the show? Granted maybe doing it when competing would lead to Chris making the challenges harder for them if he didn't disqualify them, but why don't they do it after they are eliminated when Chris has no power to do anything worse to them?
** Aside from Chris making challenges harder as a result, it could potentially lead to him disqualifying a contestant on the spot. Sure, some contestants (especially of the first gen) grow tired of the show later on, but it'd still rob them of a chance to win. As for post-elimination, they actually do that sometimes. Eva kicks him after her first elimination and Axel shoves him after hers. TDI contestants also prank him in the finale. It's not like they never retaliate.
* Why do the Revenge of the Island, Pahkitew Island, and Island (2023) contestants bother competing on the show despite knowing fully well Chris is sadistic and doesn't care if anyone dies?
** To quote Zoey: "Money! Removing all common sense and fear of danger..."

* How come everyone's audition tapes were only shown after they left the island?
** If they were going to include audition tapes as a little bonus feature for the end of the episode, then wouldn't it make sense to do so with the character who was the most fresh on everyone's minds?
** It was because they never bothered making ones for Gwen and Owen, and their conspicuous absence might have been spoilers.
* The cursed tiki arc. The reason they lost the challenges was because of their own actions (such as opening fire on your own teammates). The curse apparently made them lose three challenges in a row, but that happens to the other team as well.
** Yes, it did, but not until ''after'' the arc in question. Additionally, the Screaming Gophers had been performing significantly better than the Killer Bass the entire time up until that point. Prior to the arc one of their losses was ostensibly because one of their own members refused to do anything, and another could have been seen by the team as just plain badly scored (the Gophers had one more point even with Harold's perfect ten). Those were the only two losses prior. Surely some cockiness must have developed among them that would prevent them from admitting that the Killer Bass just did better because of ''skill''.
*** With the talent show, the winner was supposedly decided on the highest individual score.
*** In the HD remaster of Total Drama Island, the talent show points issue has been fixed through Trent only getting 5 points instead of 8, thus resulting in the Bass having more points overall.
** Besides losing challenges, there's also the misfortunes that happened to members of Screaming Gophers while Beth had the tiki idol. The same time Beth brings the idol back from Boney Island, Izzy is caught and chased away by the RCMP, despite having been on national tv for a few weeks during which she should have been arrested and the fact that the RCMP doesn't attempt to recapture her after she returns to the island even though she's pretty much advertising where she is. Then the next challenge, Cody gets mauled by a bear which is so bad that the rest of the team votes him off for his safety. Then there's Owen getting attacked by bees and Trent getting knocked out in the kitchen challenge. The Gophers probably looked at the previous challenges, and connected them to a curse.
*** Collectively, the team did better, though (it's not about whether they're worse than ''just Harold'' after all); which would still help lead to cockiness.
* Why is Harold angry at just Duncan for pranking him? Geoff and DJ were just as guilty. Heck, Geoff was the one who fed Harold the underwear.
** To me, it seemed that Harold didn't blame Geoff and DJ for pranking him, since they're generally nice. The way Harold saw it, Duncan was leading the other two, and unlike them, had genuine malicious intent. Plus, it's pretty easy to see Geoff and DJ apologizing afterwards to him.
*** Also, Harold said that he didn’t like Duncan drawing a mustache on him when he really did.
** Geoff and DJ probably just saw what they were doing as simple good-natured mischief (maybe Harold didn't though), unlike Duncan, who genuinely wanted to humiliate Harold for his own amusement.
** They had a reason in the main episode where they did it; Duncan is the only one who actively went after Harold without provocation. Meta-reason: Duncan is more in-focus in terms of character than the other two.
** DJ only did it once and otherwise seemed amicable enough with Harold. Geoff did do so a few more times, but since otherwise he's generally nice to everyone, Harold probably didn't have as much as a grudge against him, while Geoff seems to treat him nice enough later on.
* Why is Ezekiel's [[http://totaldramaisland.wikia.com/wiki/File:Present.png face on a milk carton?]]
** He was kidnaped by angry feminists.
** They forgot mentioning the resort, so his parents got scared.
** Nobody really knows; it was more than likely just a one-time gag that was supposed to be caught by viewers.
** The directors explained in an interview that it was just a little meaningless joke they threw in.
* Wouldn't it make more sense to bring back Courtney than Eva or Izzy because she wasn't even voted off, but was, elimination because Harold rigged the votes ''and Chris knew about it?''
** The competition is unfair. A number of eliminations, as well as Chris's assertion that there aren't any rules, suggest that Chris is essentially allowed to make things up as he goes. Presumably, the huge contract that the contestants signed says something to that effect, which was probably why Courtney lost her original lawsuit. He wasn't accountable to Courtney until she forced her way onto the show. Eva and Izzy were presumably returned because Chris liked them, or at least liked their tendency to make the contestants' lives difficult, not because they deserved a second chance. Complaints are just met with amusement or indifference, so it doesn't accomplish too much from a narrative perspective to show every complaint that the campers make.
*** Chris ''clearly'' doesn't like Izzy; probably because Chris is something of an AttentionWhore and Izzy steals his thunder (and every scene she's in). If Chris demonstrates genuine affection for any one camper, that would be Owen. He's visibly sad when he gets booted off and even allows him to make a speech, even fighting Courtney on her claim that he shouldn't be allowed to. When Izzy / "Explosivo" was voted off, on the other foot, he was clearly very happy about it, and even expressed his dislike of her in the next episode's ColdOpen (after the Aftermath).
*** He may not be crazy about her stealing his publicity, but the girl is CrazyIsCool, and that's good for the ratings. As for bringing back Eva, Chris himself stated "but we like her" when the others asked about her being a favorite enough to bring back. It's pretty clear Chris allowed her back into the show because he knew she'd be the one to raise the most hell.
* How come the campers were so easily manipulated by food in the third episode (The big sleep)? Yes, Chef's food sucks, but come on, it's only been a week, they've barely got one foot in the door. Why couldn't he have saved that ace until after they'd forgotten what real food tastes like?
** It actually makes a little sense, the contestants weren't used to the food back then (Gwen gets freaked out by her food moving) so the chance of having normal food would sound great to them. But if the food reward had been later on, then the contestants would have already grown to tolerate Chef's food, so it would be that big a deal to them, not to mention that by then they'd probably realize that Chris was trying to trick them. Basically:
--> Early episode:
--> '''Campers:''' "Free food just for running a race? Hey maybe this Chris guy isn't so bad!"
--> Late episode:
-->'''Campers:'''"Free food just for running a race? From ''Chris''? It must be poisoned or something."
* Again, TDDDDI. the fact that Tyler and Cody didn't make it to TDA but Owen and DJ did, yet ''[[ItMakesSenseInContext they where tied together]]''. (No, not ''that'' way)
** The rope may have gotten loose and untied. Owen and DJ happened to stay on the board while Cody and Tyler fell off.
* Yet again. Same episode. So we have Ezekiel and Beth under Justin's parachute, the parachute get's pulled to the dock, we see Beth in the water and-wait, where did Ezekiel go? He's seen by the dock as if he failed but... um... what? He just ''vanished''.
** When the suitcase passes by them, Beth is out of the parachute but Ezekiel is still under it. Maybe after Lindsay and Beth ran off, Ezekiel got out of it and left to try to find them but went the other way.
* Courtney apparently has a great singing voice in Total Drama Action, so...when Bridgette smashed her violin in the first season's talent show episode, [[FridgeLogic couldn't she just sing?]]
** Courtney is no good with improvising, so once the original plan fails, she is helpless.
*** Off screen, Chris may have banned her from competing to avoid lawsuits as she had a concussion.
* DJ's elimination. By this point it had been established that Heather was universally loathed by everyone on the island. Why wasn't ''she'' voted off?
** The challenge was who would survive the best in a horror movie, with the cabin symbolizing they had been murdered and therefore lost. Since DJ was the only one who "died" without even encountering the psycho killer, he undeniably did the worst and was automatically eliminated.
** It was implied that DJ was sent home by Chris for failing the challenge.
** It was said straight off that DJ was being sent home because he didn't complete the challenge, as most of the challenges at the time were. There was no vote.
* Wouldn't the parents of the contestants be watching..?
** They may not care. Heather's parents were celebrating that she was gone...
*** And Duncan's parents should be happy for not been in jail...
** In the Extreme Sports episode, Trent mentions them signing release forms so there must a bit in the contestant's contracts legally absolving the show of any injuries done to them during the challenge no matter how threatening the challenges may be. The psycho killer cornering Gwen in Hook,Line and Sinker doesn't count since he wasn't part of the challenge. Chris hates losing money and having a ton of lawsuits from angry parents would cramp his luxurious lifestyle so it would make sense he'd add something to the contract preventing their families from suing the show. Add to that he's got lawyers who like to make LOTS of copies.
* Rewatching Total Drama Island, episode 2. Why isn't Noah shown jumping? He obviously did because he's shown in the water with Trent just before Owen's jump. Sooo...
** Here's a pretty good storytelling tip: you don't need to explain every single detail in order for the audience to get the picture. The contestants were challenged to jump off the cliff. After watching majority of the campers do so, we see Noah in the water. We'll be be able to figure out what happened.
** Noah randomly appearing with Trent in the next scene was probably the animators trying to cover up the fact they forgot to show him jump. That, or Noah jumped the way a normal person would (Rather than flailing insanely like Cody, cheering like Geoff or hitting the side of the cliff like Ezekiel) so they cut it out to save time.
* During the TDI special Courtney finds out that they aren't on an island at all, just an isolated area that's actually very close to civilization, yet, during ''Phobia Factor'' and ''X-treme Torture'' characters take a plane above the island, wouldn't they have noticed what Courtney discovered nearly a season later?
** It could be possible that they were [[FridgeBrilliance brought to a different area for TDDDDI so that one of them would have that moment.]] It's just that they probably weren't expecting Courtney to go crazy. They could've been just acting that they were worried that one of the contestants found out.
*** No, that was the same island, the characters run past their cabins, the communal bathroom is still there, the yeti cave is still there, the moose is still there and the dock is the exact same one. Not to mention the campers seem familiar enough with the surroundings to navigate through the forest.
** It was probably an AbortedArc, along with the secret Eva was going to reveal on the boat of shame that Izzy interrupted nervously.
*** No, she was just talking about Playa Des Losers.
** This gets even weirder as in the ending to ''All-Stars'', the "island" ''sinks''.
** Given that Wawanakwa supposedly not being an actual island was never brought up after that episode, and then every other detail given heavily supports (if not confirms) it being an actual island, it's pretty safe to say the writers just {{retconned}} it.
* A lot of the confessionals defy logic, like in Paintball Deer Hunter Cody in a full body cast kept talking about his chances of winning in the Confession Cam yet in the time right after he was put in said cast to when he left the island his mouth was bandaged up in every scene where he wasn't using the confessional.
** Gwen tells the Escaped Psycho Killer that he has bad breath. Either he quickly ran to the confessional to smell it, than ran back and tried to kill her, or he did it in the end. Either way, some confessionals just follow RuleOfFunny. Maybe a crew member took Cody's bandage off to let him talk.
* Why did Lindsay help Owen win Island for the yacht party?, she's a rich DaddysGirl, she could probably afford one of those herself, but she has an excuse, she's a DumbBlonde
** Remember, she felt guilty about changing sides... Maybe she did it to go with the more popular response...
** Her wealthiness is never confirmed on the show. She could just be a DumbBlond. And if she was rich, why would she sign up for a reality show to win money? Her being "spoiled" has never been confirmed, either, so it unclear that she's rich at all.
*** Additionally the TD universe might just be one where money is simply worth a lot more than it is in our universe. Courtney is rich enough to hire lawyers to get her back on the show. Revenge of the Island's Dakota is clearly a lawyer friendly expy of Paris Hilton making her one of the richest people on the planet. At the end of Revenge of the Island Chris is locked up for running a toxic chemical dump that had produced killer mutants. Less than a year later in-universe he is released to run the show again because the amount of money he generates for Canada is that tremendous. Yes in real life rich people get away with stuff, but not to this magnitude or with this level of public exposure.
*** According to her biography, she signed up "So her gorgeousness could be shared with millions of people on TV."
** In Celebrity Manhunt's TDA Reunion Special that Beth and Lindsay were locked up for destroying a work of art in Paris, and in the version where Duncan won TDA, they said that Beth's parents had to sell their car to bail them both out (in Beth's version she had to use her winnings). If Lindsay was rich, then Beth's parents would not have to sell the car, so that causes a plot hole.
*** Maybe Lindsay's parents are stingy.
* All the way back to the first challenge... what exactly is stopping the sharks from attacking the person in the "safe zone"? It's not like the boat picking them up would get there right away... Was it coated in shark repellent?
** The ring signified a net below the markers that prevented the sharks from entering the circle.
** Crazy guess here, but this show IS a parody, and the sharks appear to be sentient. Maybe they're paid employees of the company?
* How did Courtney survive Phobia Factor? Even if Tyler had faced his fear, it still came down to Courtney not jumping in the jelly since this was worth triple points.
** Courtney was an active and beneficial participant in the previous competitions. Even in ''Phobia Factor'', her speeches to DJ and Duncan are what enabled the two to score their points. What had Tyler done for the team? His physical ineptitude coupled with him being more interested in making out with Lindsay led him to perform terribly in all previous challenges. Tyler had been dead weight since day one. Eliminating him rather than Courtney was the more logical option.
* In 'If You Can't Take the Heat...'', Owen cost his team the challenge by eating all the ribs. Yet despite this, he doesn't get eliminated. Beth is the one who has to go home.
** Heather had it out for Beth for standing up to her, so she wanted her gone and she likely got Lindsay to vote for Beth as well. Owen voted for her because he believed she cursed them by taking the tiki. As for the remaining team members, Leshawna wanted to vote for Heather and Beth likely voted for Heather as well due to their conflict. That accounts for five of the seven votes, leaving Gwen and Trent’s votes in question. Given that Beth was eliminated over Heather, evidently at least one of them was superstitious enough to think the same as Owen.
* Why didn't Harold rig the votes to get rid of Duncan? That way, he'd be hurt AND he couldn't bully him anymore.
** Duncan wanted to go home.
*** He didn't want to go home. He might've hated the camp, but if he wanted to go home, he could have just quit. It was more of just "hurting him emotionally". Maybe Harold figured that eliminating Duncan's girlfriend would make him more miserable than eliminating Duncan himself.
** Because Duncan would find out sooner or later who was responsible. And I don't know about you, but I'd be alot more worried about what a criminal like Duncan could do to me than what a CIT can.
*** Courtney being in the competition and Duncan not being in it still would hurt him emotionally since they're separated (Harold couldn't have known about the Playa des Losers). Then Duncan wouldn't even have a chance at the money. On the contrary, if Duncan stayed on the island, he'd be angrier because Courtney left and thus even more willing to inflict pain. Even if he didn't know Harold did it specifically, he'd still target him because he just likes to bully Harold anyway. That bullying may have hurt more. Might be a good thing Harold left the episode after this one.
* Since the lavatory where the Confession Cam is set up appears to be the only bathroom on the plane and the camera appears to be working 24/7 with the contestants having no control of whether it's on or not, does this mean that Chris or whoever edits these things for the show actually has to see the contestants do their, uh, business?!?
** [[{{Squick}} Yep]]. When Cody needed to use it in Paris, he got Alejandro to stand in front of the camera so that the audience wouldn't see anything indecent.
*** Keep in mind though, that this show is like Big Brother, where the people behind the cameras can just switch focus. They're not showing people do their business on live-TV, and Cody is just being naturally cautious.
** Also shown way back in TDI in the episode "Search and Do Not Destroy", where Lindsay does practically nothing but pee while the camera films her. She did catch on though, and [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments tried to hide behind her magazine.]]
* [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse What happened to Bunny?]] Where was it after "Haute Camp-ture"? Did DJ let it go back into the wild? Did he take it home with him? Did it get flung far away?
** It wasn't the last one - Bunny landed in Lindsay's lap about three minutes before the episode ended. ([[TheDitz She thought it was Tyler, remember?]])
** It seems fairly likely that DJ had to release Bunny back into the wild after the season ended; taking a wild animal out of its natural habitat can cause problems, and Chris might have made him do so to avoid lawsuits from environmental groups or something like that.
** For that matter, what happened to Irene?
** This show seems to have trouble keeping up with its animal characters. There's also Britney, Duncan and Courtney's raccoon from the Celebrity Manhunt special.
* How come Katie and Sadie never realized they were on TV until TDDDDI even though they're on a reality show and the fact that everyone's being filmed is brought up a hundred times?
** Katie and Sadie are idiots.
* Why was the '''first''' challenge ''so'' much more life-threatening than every other thing Chris gives out?
** The pilot needed to be impressive, maybe?
** On ''Series/{{Survivor}}'', the earlier challenges were all physical and difficult, while later challenges were simpler and more directed toward the mind. This is because after living on the island all that time with limited food, they're in little condition for the earlier challenges. The kids at Camp Wawanakwa are probably better fed, even if it is just Chef's cooking, but after all that time of putting up with Chris, they're still probably were exhausted enough to get an easier challenge, either because of executive mandate or just because Chris doesn't expect them to finish anything too difficult.
*** Well, is said that they (Chris and the producers) ran out of ideas by Triple Dog Dare, so they could have used the first idea they had.
* In the episode Phobia Factor, the campers are forced to face their biggest fears. Tyler is too scared to go through with his challenge (spending three minutes in a pen with a family of chickens), even though Courtney tells him that without him, they'll lose. Cody points out that they can't possibly win, because the score is 7 to 3, and 1 more point won't change it. Chris says that the surprise challenge for Courtney (jumping into a pool of green jello) would earn The Killer Bass triple points. However, even if she did go through with it, and if Tyler overcame his fear, the score would still be tied 7 to 7. As it were, neither Courtney nor Tyler completed their challenges, but they still claim that Courtney could have won it for them. Tyler backs out first, so even if Courtney jumped, they'd STILL lose.
** Maybe he meant that he'd triple the measly three points they'd accumulated. If that were the case, the Bass would've won 9 to 7 if Courtney had conquered her fear.
** Even though we don't see it, off-screen the players ''must'' have done the math and realized that Chris was tricking them when he tried to make it sound like the triple points would change the results, because otherwise there's no way Courtney wouldn't have been voted off that night.
** The Bass also had an unfair disadvantage in that episode. Points were scored based on how many campers could conquer their fears. The Gophers had nine players, while the Bass only had eight. Even if all the campers on both teams managed to successfully overcome their fears, the Bass still would've lost 8 to 9.
** There were also some technicalities in that episode:
*** Harold actually did conquer his fear (Ninjas), but his efforts weren't counted due to knocking himself out with his nunchucks.
*** Heather and Trent technically avoided their fears (sumo wrestlers and mimes, respectively), but they still counted as conquering them.
*** Trent got the point because he accomplished his challenge, which was apparently to make the mime go away. Granted, Chris straight up told him what he needed to do, but Chris is unfair like that.
*** Cody technically faced his fear (defusing a time bomb under pressure), but the bomb exploded so his efforts weren't counted even.
*** It was also unknown whether or not Geoff conquered his fear of hail.
*** He didn't, at least as far as Chris was concerned (what even was his challenge? To not freak out while being pelted by hail?). The score by the time Courtney faced her fear was 3-7 in favor of the Gophers, with DJ, Duncan, and Sadie being the only ones to "conquer" their fears.
*** Tyler also technically completed his challenge, which was to spend three minutes in a chicken coop.
* How come Harold wasn't counted as facing his fear?
** Speaking of Harold, where was he during the elimination ceremony? Was he still knocked out?
** He was there when Courtney was preparing to jump in the jelly.
** By the same token, outsmarting your fear is ''not'' same thing as conquering it.
** Both this and the later "torture" challenge seem to vary between forcing the characters to face something unpleasant and forcing them to do a challenge related to the unpleasant thing where success or failure don't directly correspond to facing the unpleasantness itself.
* Leshawna's {{No Holds Barred Beatdown}} of Heather in the third season wasn't the first time she broke off an alliance between the two with no explanation given. At the end of the second episode, Heather apologizes to Leshawna. She isn't being sincere, but Leshawna doesn't know that. Come next episode, Leshawna despises Heather again for no reason. And this was ''before'' Heather did anything really awful, like read Gwen's diary out loud or trick Trent into kissing her.
** It’s possible Heather just annoyed her ''that'' much during the time between the two episodes, assuming there was any.
* Why would someone like Noah sign up for a reality show in the first place? He obviously didn't care about staying on the show in season 1, and said his time was "completely uneventful", and then was the one who first voiced concerns about season 3, only to try ''not'' to play the "chance to return" game after being eliminated. If he hates it so much--which seems entirely consistent with his characterization--why did he even sign up? Aren't there any academic and/or video game tournaments he can try to win money from if he needs it so badly?
** According to his {{Canon}} biography, he wanted to "apply skills from fantasyland survival video games to the real world". He had no interest in the prize money at the time.
** Also, the only reason he saw it as "uneventful" was because he was only in the game for about three episodes and was still bitter about it. Not to mention he ''did'' care about staying there, he worked during the first few challenges and seemed pretty pissed off when he got eliminated. However, after seeing more of the show (he watched the rest of TDI and the entirety of TDA from the stands after all) he eventually realized how unbelievably unpleasant the game was, which is why he didn't want to go back after all his suffering on TDWT.
* Why does Harold never stand up for himself against Duncan? Maybe if he told him he was bugging him, Duncan would bully him less. Also, what does Duncan see in bullying Harold?
** Duncan bullies Harold because he [[ItAmusedMe finds it fun]]. Harold believes that if he tries to stand up for himself, Duncan will laugh and pound him into the dust again.
** Well, in season 2, he finally stood up to Duncan when he got eliminated.
* Why does everyone take Heather's bitchiness? Heather is one of the weakest contestants in the series so they could just beat her up when she acts up.
** Because if they beat her up, they would be next on her list of targets. No one wants to [[BullyingADragon piss off someone who has the power to manipulate others into voting them off.]]
** Look what happened when Eva returned. Rather than act like she did when she was first on the island, she instead acted like a psychopath that wanted revenge on Bridgette for voting her off. EVERYBODY wanted her gone, save for herself and Duncan, both of whom voted for Heather.
* Why is DJ's bunny only drawn with one ear?
** It's not. It's got two ears, the backs of them are just together all the time. If two ears separate would be like this: (| |), bunny's ears are like this (|).
* Why did Heather randomly vote off Justin? Justin was no threat to her. Why didn't she vote off someone who could actually become a threat like Gwen or Leshawna?
** Heather would have had a harder time getting people to vote for Gwen, who she'd just humiliated in front of the entire camp, or Leshawna, who had established herself as the TeamMom of the Screaming Gophers, than for Justin, whose modeling skills were not enough to earn the Gophers the win for the talent contest.
** Besides, it just so happens that Justin turned out to be a villain himself. Nobody knew that at the time, but it’s possible Heather just has an instinctive sense for such things and she didn’t want the competition.
* Bridgette is a vegetarian, a fact which causes some distress for her in Brunch of Disgustingness-- so why then, several episodes earlier in Who Can You Trust?, did she show no resistance toward having to kill and prepare the blowfish for Geoff herself? It's true that she didn't have to eat the fish, but most vegetarians wouldn't be very willing to cook or prepare the meat either, especially when it's given to them ''still alive.''
** She probably wasn't a vegetarian by that point in the minds of the writers. She managed to get down bull testicles just fine after a little coaxing. She might completely okay with others eating meat and even preparing it for them. It's a little hard to imagine Geoff going vegetarian for her.
** Bridgette says in the Brunch of Disgustingness episode that she has eaten tuna fish sandwiches, "but I never worked out my position on eating LIVE fish." So it's simple. She doesn't consider fish to be meat. This is a pretty common belief among Catholics, which is the reason fish is so popular during Lent and on Fridays. (Some Catholics do not eat meat on those occasions.)
** It appears Bridgette is actually a pescatarian. Either she tells everyone she's a vegetarian for simplicity's sake, or she doesn't know there's a term for vegetarians that still eat fish.
** Alternatively, perhaps she doesn’t eat meat for medical reasons as opposed to moral ones.
*** She states in the episode that eating meat is "against her principles", so clearly her problems are moral. And she shows no ill effects from when she does eat meat, so that rules out medical vegetarianism.
** Or she just didn't want to win lose the challenge. Its not like she had to eat it.
* "Trial By Triathlon": Who did Geoff for? [=LeShawna=] said she voted for Heather. Gwen more than likely voted for Heather. Duncan made an obvious hint that he voted for Geoff. Heather said she voted for Geoff. With Owen, he can be easily manipulated, so more than likely, Duncan told him to vote for Geoff (he was mad at Heather at the end of this episode, as she insulted Izzy, so more than likely, she didn't influence him). That just leaves Geoff! Geoff knows that no one likes Heather (he even asks the rest of the guys why they don't vote for her in "Hide and Be Sneaky"), so why wasn't it at least a tie? Did he vote himself off for some odd reason?
** Geoff might have voted for Duncan as payback for him getting Bridgette voted off.
** I always assumed he voted for himself. He said in either the previous episode or that one that the competition was getting way to serious, and he didn't seem all that bothered by losing.
** Why does Leshawna SUDDENLY want to be Duncan's friend? If it's because she found out about Bunny from COURTNEY, this should have happened about 7 episodes before. Why does Owen suddenly hate Heather, even though he shows no disdain for her throughout the rest of the season? Why is Gwen more creased by Geoff than, Heather? And then there's Leshawna's confessional. "I knew if it came down to a popularity contest, I was gonna lose big time. I had to vote off Heather." She's talking about the finale, but she makes no sense. In the very next episode, she WINS a popularity contest without a fight. And ANYONE could beat Heather in a popularity contest at that point.
*** To answer the first three questions: Leshawna never really interacted with Duncan much prior to the episode, so this was her first good opportunity to do so. Owen only started hating Heather in this episode because of her badmouthing Izzy and having to put up with being chained to her. Gwen didn't hate Geoff more than Heather; she just found his positive attitude extremely annoying.
* Why does DJ's mom look so much different in his audition than when she first appears? It's not necessarily a stretch to say that it's an old photo, but she just looks so much different.
** Some people theorize that DJ has two mothers, so it's possible the woman in his audition tape is his second "momma".
** He could also be in a blended family with a biological mother and a stepmother. This could explain why he started crying after talking about his mother in the audition tape, as she might have died and his dad has since remarried.
*** His mother does physically resemble him in ''Action'' though.
** Could also be EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference.
* One reason Duncan had the guys' alliance vote off Bridgette because she was good at sports. Umm, isn't one of Bridgette's defining traits being TheKlutz on land? Because unless Duncan 100% seriously thought there was going to a surfing challenge or something else themed around aquatic activities later on, his claim otherwise makes no sense.
** He probably just didn't want to take the chance. The phrase, better to be safe than sorry, comes to mind. Also, the other reason he gave, Bridgette's popularity, was more than enough to vote her off since everyone thought the winner would be decided by a vote.
* Why did Eva only go after Bridgette when she came back? DJ, Duncan, and Geoff are equally "guilty" of "backstabbing" her, and yet for some reason, she decides Bridgette is the only one worth her (misplaced) wrath.
** Duncan and Geoff were absent when she had her rage that lead to her initial elimination so maybe they didn't vote her off. Bullies tend to go after targets of the same sex, so Bridgette being the only other Killer Bass girl made her an obvious target.
* When Heather decided to read Gwen's diary during the talent contest, aware that this was on live television, why didn't Gwen run to stop her, snatch her diary from her and even beat her up for what she was going to do? Before Heather started to read the diary, Gwen had plenty of time to run to the scenery and recover it. Why did she allow Heather to read it and humiliate her?
** Maybe she'd hoped that people wouldn't believe it was her diary. Most likely, she was just too embarrassed that her instinct was to run away. She also probably didn't want to look aggressive in front of Trent right after Heather had revealed Gwen liked him.
* In "No Pain, No Game" why did Eva vote for Heather and not Bridgette?
** Maybe she watched the intervening episodes and found out Heather was the one who took her [=MP3=] player. After all, this is how Courtney discovered Harold's involvement in her elimination.
* This is more of a meta headscratcher, but [[BeamMeUpScotty when has Chris ever said:]] [[MemeticMutation "Alright campers. I've heard from an anonymous source that SOMEone is X."]]?
** It's from an Image Macro used as a meme template. The line wasn't actually spoken in the series itself.
* What's up with all the LethallyStupid interns? In the world of Total Drama, are there really THAT many people that ''willingly'' sign up for their internership? [[WildMassGuessing Or do they get them from someplace else?]]
** Chris probably tells them that [[BlatantLies they wouldn't be put in any risk by being an intern]].
* Why are Harold's CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass skills so inconsistent? In the first few episodes he claimed that his ice-skating skills helped him out with dodging the balls. Yet sometimes he's portrayed as a simple nerd who doesn't actually [[IKnowMortalKombat know mortal kombat]], failing in hand-to-hand techniques and acting clumsy in general. Is it DependingOnTheWriter?
* In "Up The Creek", Why did Duncan want to team up with Harold and Sadie? He makes it obvious in several episodes that he finds them annoying, So why join them?
** To mess with them, as Duncan is want to do. Mostly Harold, but I'm sure he'd be happy to mess with Sadie as well.
* Why was Katie voted out over Sadie anyways?
** Likely nothing more than the fact her name was usually listed first of the two. All else being equal, humans tend to gravitate to the most accessible option.
*** Actually, Katie was the one who got her and Sadie to stray away from the group. Maybe one of the Killer Bass found out.
* In the premiere, Courtney is forced to wear a chicken hat because she couldn't jump off the cliff due to a medical condition. However, in the premiere of ''All-Stars'', which recreates the first ''Total Drama'' challenge, Courtney does jump off the cliff and performs the challenge well. Why couldn't Courtney do the challenge the first time then?
** She was very likely being sarcastic about having a medical condition and didn’t want to do something that risky, and she didn’t believe the other team would beat hers. Post Island she also became a lot more competitive so she’d be more willing to do crazy challenges like that.
** Also, the cliff jumping part was optional in ''Island'', whereas it was mandatory in ''All-Stars''. She would have caused her team to forfeit the challenge if she didn't jump off the cliff that time around.
* In "Not Quite Famous", why does Heather appear onstage in her ballerina tutu if she had already decided to read Gwen's diary to the public as her "talent"? Before stealing the diary, Heather was wearing her tutu, but while searching and upon finding it, Heather is in her usual clothes. So why does she bother to change clothes if she was no longer going to dance?
** To up the shock factor, and surprises more people. Also to give Gwen less time to stop her if Gwen had chosen to intervene.
* Why does Harold lend Gwen his red ants to get back at Heather? First of all, Gwen was mean to him during the Awakeathon when he asked her how long it would take them to reach the main lodge, and secondly, doesn't giving her his ants doesn't mean that Heather could have targeted him as well? By the way, Heather likely killed Harold's ants, so why did Harold lend his ants, knowing he would not see them again?
** Gwen probably didn't tell him exactly what she was going to do with it.
** Harold witnessed Heather reading Gwen's diary. Even if they weren't friends, I'd imagine one victim of bullying would be willing to help another.
* After the cooking challenge, why is Harold naked when Duncan, Geoff and DJ bring his bed to the Dock of Shame to humiliate him? Before he went to sleep, Harold was wearing his pajamas, as such clothes were the only ones Duncan and his friends hadn't stolen.
** [[https://youtu.be/ASGgn8bNQuA Oh ho ho it’s magic, you know. Never believe it’s not so.]] Also, it’s a small detail and not important to the story.
* Back in the premiere, Chris warns Duncan that his parole officer is checking on him and that he can be sent back to juvie if he does something illegal. Then why wasn't Duncan returned to juvie after he left Harold naked in the docks? That could count as sexual assault.
** Chris never said that his parole officer was watching, he just said that he could call his parole officer and have Duncan sent back to Juvie. And Chris wouldn't care about Duncan's prank.
* Why does Harold choose (from all possible places) the confessional to rig the votes to vote off Courtney, if Chris had explicitly said in the first episode that what is filmed in the confessional is shown on TV? If not for Chris' tendency of breaking the rules, Harold could have been kicked out of the competition right there.
** Like you said, it is Chris. He breaks/bends rules all the time, in this scenario he also may have thought it be great for drama. Also he and Chef may have found out she and Duncan were the ones who stole the snacks, which also might explain why they were both smiling when they threw her on the Boat of Losers.
* Why does Ezekiel suddenly support Courtney and hate Harold for eliminating her during their stay at Playa Des Losers if Courtney never liked Zeke and Zeke seemed to get along with Harold during his brief stay at the island? He acts as if Courtney had always been his friend, but Courtney felt nothing but disgust for him.
** He probably thought it was an underhanded thing to do.
** Maybe because he was upset and he and the Bass watched the tapes. He may think that what Harold did was right but also he knew he shouldn’t offend girls. Eva would probably frag him during the night of Courtney’s elimination.
* While on Playa Des Losers, Courtney tries to force Harold to vote for Duncan by threatening to upload his love letters to Leshawna on the Internet. How exactly did Courtney get Harold's letters? She left the show one episode before the whole love letters incident happened, so there's no way she could have gotten them before leaving.
** Maybe Harold wrote more after he got to Playa Des Losers and Courtney got her hands on them when she wasn’t around?
* Throughout the first season, we see the (censored) genitals of many contestants, including Owen, Harold, Heather and Izzy. We also get to see Duncan asleep in the bathroom with his pants down and Gwen's underwear when Heather rips off her skirt. Couldn't the producers of the show, the network that broadcasts it and Chris have gotten into legal trouble for exposing all of them? Especially Chris, who was present in some of these situations, as he was an adult while the contestants were minors?
** Have you seen how thick those contracts were? My guess is that he promised to censor out those bits if they were showing, and did the bare minimum. But mostly lawyers and contracts.
* Gwen's rant about other campers in the finale doesn't make any sense. Why does she insult Trent, Lindsay, Harold, Duncan and Geoff in the finale? To being with, Trent is her boyfriend and didn't cheat on her with Heather as the montage makes it look. Lindsay? She felt pity for her when Heather doublecrossed her and liked her insults towards Heather and her proposal of the "shave your hair" dare that brought Heather's downfall. Harold? He allowed her to have her revenge against Heather after Heather read her diary on national television, leaving aside that Harold is her friend [=LeShawna=]'s secret admirer. Duncan? He departed the competition on friendly terms with her, as they shared a love for horror films. And Geoff? Yeah, she did have her issues with him, but they became friends in the episode where he was voted off, in addition to the fact that Geoff is her friend Bridgette's boyfriend. And how does she consider Owen and Cody sane if the former is one of the weirdest contestants and Cody had some perverted traits?
** In Harold's case, she never really had any meaningful interaction with him aside from using his ants.
** Cody also helped her get close to Trent even if he had a crush on her, but you’re right still doesn’t explain the rest.
** She didn't really mind Owen, especially by this point in the season. Also, he helped her take down Heather.
* Some campers don’t have luggage and yet they have like swimsuits and sometimes even ones who did bring luggage didn’t leave with them. In following seasons, campers leave without their luggage (unless if the parachutes in ''World Tour'' have the luggage in them).
** Their luggage is likely gathered in such a way that it can be loaded on the boat for them in Island, and going forward we know they are sent to a single location after elimination so their luggage is likely sent there separately if they don't take it.
*** What about after seasons?
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Total Drama Action]]
* Mr coconut's, E-scope's, and Explosivo's vote offs show that you don't have to be a real camper (or real person) to be voted off. Then what if someone votes off Chris? Someone from another team? Chef? Or, the boat of losers? For the latter, does that mean no body could lose anymore? The boat would have to ride itself? Another boat would come out of no where?
** It would probably just invalidate their votes if it were actually used in the show. While imaginary/invalid people can be eliminated, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the case that you can succeed at voting off anyone.
** Mr. Coconut probably wasn't actually voted off by the campers... Chris just did it to stop Owen's obsession.
** Also, Explosivo was not eliminated officially; it was really Izzy the second time. And the team did VOTE for Izzy the first time, but the documentation was void because it mentioned a non-real person.
** Perhaps this is why Chris changed the voting in ''World Tour'' to passports, changing it so that there was no way an alter-ego or separate animal/object could get voted off instead.
** Someone tries this in the revival and it goes about as well for them as you'd think.
* In Red Carpet Rivalry, part 1, Beth is again going on about her as yet unseen boyfriend Brady. But that doesn't make any sense, because in the space episode, she dumped him for Harold.
** Beth might have been joking in the space episode (although that wouldn't explain why she kissed Harold).
* What was really the point of the producers making Owen spy on the others? Were they trying to fix the game or getting dirt on the teens to sell to a tabloid? Plus if they and Chris wanted to bring someone back to stir up the doo-doo i.e. drama why didn't they choose Gwen so that they could push the whole possible love triangle theory? Considering how Duncan and Courtney roller coaster relationship was the main focus of the season since Courtney came back and the fact that there's a conflict between the the two girls, through it's really a one-sided conflict, Gwen was a far better choice.
** Favouritism on the in-universe producers' part?
** Owen might be the only one desperate enough to return, because his family needed money after their cheese cellar purchase.
* Now, it seems like a good SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}, but Trent's obsession with the number 9 came out of nowhere. If he was so attached to 9 (because of the train his grandfather gave him before he died) why wasn't it(the attachment) shown in TDI... ever?
** He was probably stressed due to the straining of his relationship with Gwen.
* Courtney blatantly says that she lost her lawsuit against the show due to her bad lawyers in TDDDDI. Fast forward to when she returns in TDA, saying she WON the lawsuit.
** Considering that she spent the majority of the first aftermath on the phone with her lawyers, she was trying to sue them again, and succeeded this time.
* Lindsay and Beth suddenly becoming immune to Justin's good looks for no reason.
** It was explained that they just got used to him. He was only around for the first four challenges in season one, this time they spent more time around him and the effect just wore off.
* Why did they scrap the plot of Owen being a bad guy? If he remained that way throughout ''World Tour'', him and Alejandro could have competed as villains.
** Owen just isn't cut out to be a villain. He was only being a bad guy in ''Action'' because Chris was going to pay him $50,000 to cover his family's cheese cellar debt.
* OK, so remember when Izzy/E-Scope went on that date with the monster in the first episode? Wasn't it established that Chef was controlling the animatronics? So does that mean E-scope went on a date with Chef indirectly?
** Technically yes, but considering this is Izzy/E-Scope we're talking about, she might not have seen it that way.
* In the Superhero challenge, the guys form an alliance to vote off one of the girls after being outnumbered 3-4. Because Courtney had immunity, Leshawna was the second biggest threat. Meanwhile, the other girls want to eliminate Duncan to see Courtney suffer. Beth convinces Harold to vote off Duncan, while Courtney lies to Harold to get him to vote off Leshawna. Why would Harold believe his enemies (Duncan, Courtney, Justin) more than his friends (Beth, Leshawna, Lindsay)?
** Since when were Beth and Lindsay friends with him? He was on a different team from them in Island and booted pre-merge and even in Action, they didn't interact much with Harold on a different team. He didn't have beef with Justin until Princess Pride so he wasn't an enemy yet. Plus, Leshawna's spa day incident was still lingering at this point so there is less reason for him to fully trust Leshawna's word.
* In a later episode, Courtney complains that the girls are now outnumbered 2-3. If Courtney didn't want to be outnumbered, why did she help Duncan get Leshawna eliminated earlier?
** DidntThinkThisThrough perhaps?
* When Duncan and Gwen discuss Trent's obsession with the number nine, Harold mentions that Trent has always had that obsession. How is possible that Harold knows this? Trent was never shown having this obsession back in the first season, and Trent and Harold were in different teams, so they would have rarely interacted enough for Harold to learn this.
** They could have easily hung out at Playa des Losers after Trent's elimination which could've given them opportunity to interact.
* Why is [=LeShawna=]'s butt censored when part of her pants are ripped off due to her falling from a weather vane if Owen's butt was never censored throughout the many times Owen appeared naked in the first season?
** Possible for being a female with female nudity being more taboo than male nudity.
* When she thinks that she is going to die, Heather writes her will and leaves all her belongings to her mother, and has the option to spend time away with her had Heather been chosen to accept the prize. Why does Heather suddenly get along with her mother? In her video log, shown back towards the finale of the first season, it's shown that Heather's parents dislike her and are actually happy when she isn't at home.
* When Harold tries to show off his magician skills, he shows a photo of his humiliation back in season one, precisely the occasion in which he was left naked in the Dock of Shame. However, how could this photo be taken? First of all, none of the girls had phones (the iPhones had yet to be invented by this point) or cameras and the cameraman wasn't in the water. What's more, Harold's bed is nowhere to be seen and Harold is seen smiling evilly at the camera while he wasn't looking that way when he was humiliated...
** There are cameras hidden all over the set (as pointed in the intros) so maybe they filmed him and he since kept it.
* Okay, Chris asks campers to do a challenge in the way they were first eliminated. But he asked Trent first instead of Izzy. Why did he decide Trent first?
** Probably because she came back after Trent was eliminated.
*** But he asked Owen before asking Heather, Leshawna, and Justin. But then again, he allowed Owen back on the season.
* Speaking of Owen being let back on the season, when he’s eliminated again, he rides with Courtney but he’s not seen in the Exclusive clip. Did he sit in the front seat?
** Maybe Courtney pummeled him until he got out of the limo?
* While replaying the “Top Dog” challenge in “Mutiny On The Soundstage”, wouldn’t it have been better to have another Owen question too?
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Total Drama World Tour]]
* ''All'' contestants must sing every episode? Well, ''Owen'' sure didn't.
** Maybe it's because he was either unconscious or in panic mode throughout the song and so Chris decided he was in no state to sing OR Chris counted his, "Stop the plane!" line as part of the song?
** Maybe Chris only counted it because he did something during the song. In the Yukon episode, Cody was apart of the Team Amazon + Bridgette song, but he didn't sing/say anything (due to the extreme cold he was facing). Maybe Chris counted his chattering as part of the song.
** This, along with every other time a character randomly doesn't sing but doesn't get eliminated, can be explained if the rules only give instant elimination to people who ''consciously refuse'' to sing, thereby excusing the ones who are absent from the song, distracted or otherwise incapacitated, or just don't get a line in before the song ends.
** This is Chris we're talking about. The man isn't exactly known for his vigorous reinforcement of rules.
* If Ezekiel's parachute didn't open in ''World Tour's'' opening, why did he hit the ground after everyone else?
** RuleOfFunny, Ezekiel just lying on the ground in the final shot (like Courtney, DJ and Tyler) isn't as funny [[AmusingInjuries as him randomly falling from the sky]]. That or maybe he managed to hold onto the plane for a few minutes before falling off it (he ''is'' in the bottom row after all.)
** Ezekiel all of a suddenly drops to the ground after everyone has landed and settled in which captures his tendency to pop out of random in various points of the show when the rest of the crew least expects it especially in the finale, he reappears out of nowhere to steal the million dollar case before falling into a volcano.
* Regarding Heather and Cody - did Heather actually genuinely like Cody by the end of ''World Tour''? It was very gray, because on one hand she would have moments of (seemingly) genuine kindness, like giving him advice on how to get Sierra off his back, but then not an episode or two later she'd be rude towards him, either to his face or behind his back. In the finale, Cody himself even says that in his eyes, she was pretty good to him all season. With all that said, did she consider him a friend (in one episode later in the season, she asks him "We're friends, right?", which sort of implied that she felt the need for mutual confirmation) or was he worth nothing to her?
** The best parallel to give here is Heather's alliance/"friendship" with Harold in the ''Island'' special. Heather does share a few friendly moments with Harold, but admits in the confessional that she really doesn't care about him or his attempts to give her a second chance and is only hanging out with him for the sake of the competition. It's possible she felt the same way about Cody and was perfectly happy to abandon their friendship after it had helped her reach the finals of the competition.
* Bridgette's elimination in ''Total Drama World Tour''. Yes, Alejandro tricked Bridgette into getting her tongue stuck to the pole. No, that's got nothing to do with why her team lost. Even if her tongue wasn't stuck to the pole, her team would have lost, since DJ never passed the checkpoint to pick her up like he was supposed to! So her team losing was almost completely DJ's fault, so naturally, they eliminate Bridgette instead, for seemingly no reason. Makes perfect sense.
** Leshawna's plan was for everyone to run toward the finish line instead of waiting at a checkpoint. Bridgette ignored this plan thanks to Alejandro. Even if DJ did lead them off track, who would you keep around: someone who tries his best, or someone who doesn't do what the team has agreed on? They might have lost faith that Bridgette could be relied on later and decided to eliminate a weak link.
*** But ''then'' there's the fact that Lindsay also waits at a checkpoint, which is followed by Leshawna saying they'll pick up Bridgette and ''then go to the finish line''. Why does Lindsay get away with waiting at a checkpoint also, and Leshawna [[Hypocrite lapsing from her own strategy]]?
*** Bridgette seems to be the only person who remembers Leshawna's plan (even Leshawna herself doesn't remember), as she does say to Alejandro "I should keep going to the finish line", even though she doesn't do it.
* Why did DJ not vote for himself in Bridgette and Leshawna's boot episodes if he wanted out of the contest so badly? He would have tied with Bridgette and been voted off outright over Leshawna.
** It seemed to be a while before he decided the the curse was enough for him to want out of the game.
*** The problem is, he ''did'' vote for himself in Harold's boot episode and then yelled, "I wanna go home!" when he stayed on. Why would he suddenly pass up voting for himself twice in a row?
* Izzy in Yukon episode. Why would she mistake radiation with radio? She's CrazyIsCool girl genius, not TooDumbToLive. Maybe she was high or something?
** Again, [[CloudCuckooLander she's Izzy.]]
* In the season premiere of ''World Tour'', Noah is shown in the musical number to be terrified because of the (lack of) safety of the plane, but two episodes later, not only is he uncharacteristically confident that nothing terrible will happen, he seems genuinely surprised to find out the plane is a death trap. Did he forget about what he thought earlier or was he just lying to try to comfort Owen? Owen was right next to Noah when he made his first, scared comments, so that should not be likely to work.
** He wasn't surprised.
** Well, he was more "weirded-out" by the propeller than terrified. But more on topic, he wasn't surprised, and given his line ("Air travel is the 15th safest mode of transportation, unless you're in a death trap.") he was probably leading into a snark about how the plane ''is'' a deathtrap. When the door came off he was disturbed but went along with it for the most part.
* Where did the beach ball in Team Victory's Japanese commercial come from? Did it serve a purpose (since Harold was holding it after they lost)?
** It was just a joke, a random prop that accidentally rolled on set as they were filming, which explains why Bridgette looks at it awkwardly as it goes past her. Harold stamping it later was probably just his attempt at being dramatic.
*** They probably wanted to use a tumbleweed prop, but there were none, so the beach ball was the next best thing
* Did Blainely ''really'' think that Brigette and Geoff would have an actual boxing match? Did she really think Geoff was angry enough to ''punch'' Bridgette?
** Maybe she was still bitter over losing her job, or she's even more sadistic than Chris?
*** But she was playing ''Truth or Tractor-Trailer!''
*** Definitely the latter. Blaineley is as sleazy and shameless as they come, and would certainly relish in seeing Geoff and Bridgette hurt each other physically and emotionally.
** EvilCannotComprehendGood. Blainely is certainly up there with Chris in the scumbag department.
* What was Justin doing talking to Harold in his GoodTimesMontage? Justin isn't/wasn't competing!
** It's from ''Island'', which is the only season that Justin and Noah are in together. That doesn't explain why Heather's hair is like that, but meh.
* In 'The Am-AH-Zon Race', there's a scene where Heather tells Gwen to use the X-ray glasses to find out the color of Cody's underwear, resulting in Gwen getting some massive {{Squick}} when she finds out firsthand that oh, yeah, by the way, Cody just so happens to not be ''wearing'' underwear that day. Why on Earth did Cody just ''stand there'' as Gwen used the X-ray glasses on him?!
** Oh come on, you know he wanted her to see it!
*** Which explains his weird grin right before she looks down. [[{{Squick}} Squiiiiiiick...]]. But seriously? It's because he was too embarrassed to actually say it out loud, and just resigned himself to being embarrassed about it later.
** Wouldn't X-Ray glasses show people's privates, underwear or not? Isn't that the point of X-Ray glasses?
*** X-Ray don't work this way. How do they work in TD world so allowed X-Ray glasses to exist is matter of rule of funny.
** {{Fanservice}}?
* Where did Tyler get an extra pair of pants from in the Amazon episode? It seems unlikely that Chris would give him another pair...
** It's probably just a goof so they wouldn't have to animate Tyler in his tighty-whities for the rest of the episode.
** Alternatively, maybe Chris was disgusted at the idea of Tyler walking around the Amazon in his underpants and gave him a new pair of pants off-screen for the sake of not having to think of what a half naked teenage boy trudging through the humid, muddy jungle could get into.
* Why would Alejandro question Chris not letting them continue the challenge without Owen? They lost the "Liberty Or Death" challenge because they didn't have Noah at the finish, and Team Victory lost the Yukon challenge because they didn't have Bridgette at the finish. Why would Alejandro complain about it NOW? (Other than that he was pissed at Owen...)
* After Chris revealed the votes in the Amazon Rainforest episode, why did Team Amazon (more important, Cody) fear her? No one’s going to fall for her manipulation and they can vote her out next time Team Amazon is up for elimination. Heather’s powerless now.
* So apparently Sierra's idea of a computer is a pizza box with a picture on the inside of the lid. Does that mean everything she's ever blogged about was all in her ''head''?
** It's just a surrogate computer, because she hadn't got real one. How could Celebrity Manhunt find her, if her blog wasn't real?
** She was so addicted to blogging, she was going through withdrawal without her laptop, so she made a makeshift one to try to fill the void.
*** Confirmed in Total Drama All-Stars
* Why didn't Courtney sing in the Am-AH-zon Race? Only ''one'' team has to sing, and Courtney wasn't under any circumstances why she couldn't sing...
** Maybe she was too freaked out by the Zing Zings at the time.
* Why would Ezekiel be sent to Team One (Victory) instead of Team Three (Amazon)? He was the last one to cross the finish line... Was it because Chris counted it as "after" the race was over, and reset it and sent him to the first team?
** Maybe it's to be ironic? Since Ezekiel gets no where close to victory?
** Since 16 is not divisible by 3, one team would have one more member than the others. Maybe he choose to give the extra member to the first place team as a reward.
* So, Noah's gone because although his team completed the challenge and brought Chris the Ripper, Team Amazon wins because they brought Duncan? Even though the challenge was to capture the ''Ripper''?
** [[ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem The rules change at Chris' whims]], remember? He'd probably be happy to have Duncan back, especially if he had seen Gwen's confessional two episodes ago and knew what kind of drama he could stir up.
*** Alejandro's action was also one of the more realistic moves in-show: Noah was a threat that he didn't see coming and that manipulated ''him'', which made him extremely dangerous. It's just not being stupid. It also gives the implication that Noah is more of a threat than Heather, Courtney, and Duncan (considered some of the best players of the game) because Al didn't foresee it, and got rid of immediately, rather than stringing him along to the finals like the other three, because Noah knew better than to play out in the open - it was only his big mouth that got him.
* Was there any purpose in given TCIRRRRH a radioactive box in the Yukon, other than to make Izzy green? Did Chris just want to make it harder on them and give them extra weight (even with Owen)? Did he want to mutate them all?
** It wasn't meant for TCIRRRRH in particular; it was the third place sled for the ice flow challenge. (Team Victory's sled was clearly the top prize, and Team Amazon's was second place.)
* Why isn't Sierra mad at Cody for winning the tie break in Greece? Sierra is genre savvy enough to know what that means about the Sierra-Cody-Gwen love triangle, but Sierra completely ignores it.
** It's not that obvious that he did it for Gwen. He could've easily claimed that he wanted to show Chris and Courtney that he could win, since they didn't respect him.
** Alternatively, now that Gwen is supposedly taken, Sierra's expecting another IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy, freeing him up for her.
** She was too busy gushing about Cody punching Duncan
** She already knew that Cody has a crush on Gwen; she [[DieForOurShip blames Gwen]] for that, not Cody. Logical? No, but then, she ''is'' a fangirl.
*** Cody does the same thing with Duncan.
* If Harold was angry over Chef's Chinese outfit, shouldn't he have known that Pandas aren't native to Japan?
** Chris had already had the cast thrown off the plane for that remark, he probably didn't want to risk any more enmity from the cast by giving Chris another excuse to torture them.
* Why would Blaineley be so shocked to hear Geoff singing a song about how awful she is?
** She's an egotistical bitch.
** Not to mention the lyrics of the song were very revealing about who Blaineley really is ("She's just so full of you-know-what, she has to double flush the can!", "She bought two pairs of the same jeans, one size 4, one size 8, so when she wears the bigger ones you'll ask if she's lost weight" "Her real name isn't Blaineley, it's Mildred!")
** Just because someone knows that others dislike them doesn't mean that they're fine with it if they start insulting them.
* Are Harold and [=LeShawna=] an OfficialCouple or what?
** By the looks of it, yes.
** They are seen cuddling together on the beach in a bonus clip of the fourth Aftermath (alongside Lindsay and Tyler), so it's safe to say they officially hooked up after their eliminations.
* Wait, if Chris doesn't have permission to land the plane in London, how did everyone get ''back'' onto the plane once they caught their respective "criminals"?
** Maybe they landed the plane outside of London, and the contestants had to walk all the way to the plane?
* How Sierra suddenly found out that Chris is the biggest {{Jerkass}} on the show. Shouldn't she know that already?
** Four words, DracoInLeatherPants.
** She's a LoonyFan - people like them are pretty infamous for ignoring the worst qualities of the people they're obsessed with, even if said person is a gigantic asshole.
* Another one about Duncan's return... Chris's excuse for keeping him in the show ''made no sense''! He's constantly said that the penalty for refusing to sing is instant elimination. Duncan refused to sing, therefore he was eliminated. But in later episodes Chris said that by leaving, Duncan had violated of his contract. ''You'' shoved him out of the plane in episode 2 yourself, Chris, you can't say he was in violation of his contract! You eliminated him, ''you'' removed him from the game, deal with it! If anything, they should have brought back Izzy, who was never actually eliminated this season!
** He probably brought Duncan back and kept him on even when he should have been eliminated so that he could engineer the huge hell-storm that was the Courtney/Duncan/Gwen love triangle. Remember, [[ManipulativeBastard Chris]] was the one who broke the lock on the door leading to the kiss affair and its witnessing. It was his chance for revenge against Courtney for her lawsuits and lawyer-rule-bending in TDA.
** Izzy has had enough second chances.
** Chris bringing Duncan back was Chris somewhat deliberately showing how little he cares about the rules, and how much he cares about the drama. Ezekiel was [[{{Determinator}} hanging onto the plane's wing and somehow clawed his way into the cargo hold to prove himself worthy of the competition,]] and was willing, in his derailing sanity, to hunt down his former comrades. Chris doesn't really like him, so he's thrown headfirst from the plane with no parachute. Duncan was WILLING to jump out of the plane again to be away from the show, but Chris just wants drama.
* Hey, why does Heather want to kick Courtney out for throwing challenges in Picnic at Hanging Dork? It's obvious she just wants to get rid of Gwen, and after that she's going to go back to winning.
** Considering that Duncan and Owen are both previous winners and on the other team, and that Alejandro is proving to be a formidable opponent, keeping a numbers lead on them is a pretty good idea. Especially when half your team are finalists from previous seasons. Taking advantage of a moment of weakness is one thing, but Heather has been on Gwen's team every season and she has never thrown a challenge just because she thought she could get her eliminated. A strong teammate is far more useful than petty revenge.
** Plus that's still at least one night in the lame section of the plane.
*** No matter who she votes off, that's still one night in the lame section...
** Heather wanted both Courtney and Gwen off; she didn't care who went first.
** As if the writers would let Duncan go even one season without letting him make the merge.
* How come the Cartoon Network website calls almost every song "(Name of song) Mix"?
** Possibly for censorship purposes. "Strip Them Down" was changed to "Changing Guards Mix".
* What happened to the barf bags that are supposed to be passed out during the season? They haven't been giving them out since Slap Slap Revolution and seems to be completely ignored afterwards.
** They couldn't afford any more, the budget really is terrible after all.
* In I See London... why was it even ''necessary'' for Team Amazon to win? Even if the show wanted to push the Gwen/Duncan/Courtney love triangle, at the time the team would have (with the exception of Cody) been happy to vote off Heather instead (and Cody's remaining vote would also go to someone not in the love triangle)? Not only that, but Chris had decided to fake-out eliminate on that team before; who could stop him from doing so again?
** They were [[ShooOutTheClowns shooing out the clowns]]. The only reason Tyler made it this far was for his [[KeepingSecretsSucks role]] in the triangle. In fact, any character who has nothing to do with the triangle was out by then.
*** Gwen is in the triangle.
*** Duncan is the reason for the triangle.
*** Courtney is in the triangle.
*** Courtney flirted with Alejandro,
*** which made Heather jealous.
*** Tyler [[KeepingSecretsSucks saw]] Duncan and Gwen kiss.
*** Cody likes Gwen.
*** Sierra loves Cody, who likes Gwen.
*** [[CreatorsPet Owen]] is {{The Artifact}}.
** So naturally, Noah was next on the chopping block. Not to mention they needed Heather for her {{Belligerent Sexual Tension}} with Alejandro.
*** Tyler only stayed in the game long enough to serve his purpose of revealing the kiss in Greece, so then he'd be voted out next episode to make room for more drama.
* Why did Alejandro brag about his Latin heritage to Courtney, who is Hispanic ''too''? Does he think Courtney is racist or something?
** Perhaps he just thought she was {{Ambiguously Brown}}?
** He just had a tendency to speak in a flowery way and didn't think about Courtney's heritage either way. Or maybe he was implying a compliment.
* How do pineapples cause a volcano to erupt?
** Since saying something like, "You have angered the spirit of the volcano with your fighting" would have made more sense, so it's likely RuleOfFunny.
*** Didn't you know? Pinapples are MadeOfExplodium.
* Relatedly, did no one in the peanut gallery see the signs? Shouldn't the signs that very clearly said "No Pineapples" around the volcano have been suspicious to say, ''Noah''? Or for that matter, Harold? And ''if'' no one saw them, why didn't they just bother turning around?
** Well, Chris likely just marched them up the volcano and made them stand there, so they probably didn't see the signs in the first place. And with the uncomfortable heat and ultra-important final two battle going on right in front of them, why would anyone turn around?
*** 1) The peanut gallery were at the top of the volcano before the final battle started so they could have checked beforehand and 2) how would they ''not'' see the signs if they were walking right up to them? It's possible they didn't see what the signs ''said'', but someone who was a) cautionary, b) intelligent, or c) both would likely check to make sure it wasn't anything important.
*** It's possible some of the peanut gallery members did see the signs and asked Chris about them. But considering Chris' indifference to the contestants and any complaints they raise, he might have ignored their attempts to point it out to him, rendering any efforts to warn him pointless.
* Why is it that couples, save for [[BetaCouple Lindsay/Tyler and Geoff/Bridgette]], can't be seen in the same shot together after hooking up without causing or continuing some sort of conflict? In other words, how come couples are never just shown ''hanging out'', and not on the verge of some sort of emotional trauma?
** So Izzy and Owen don't ever just hang out? Harold and [=LeShawna=] also had mostly pretty sane moments, although their relationship seems to be off-and-on. As for why other couples always seem to have some sort of conflict, it's the difference between RuleOfFunny abiders and RuleOfDrama abiders. Frankly, a good number of the former category (DJ, Noah, Ezekiel, Eva, etc.) aren't and never were in a relationship. If they were, they would probably be perfectly fine with just hanging out.
** They probably do get opportunities to hang out and enjoy their relationships in the way ordinary teenagers do off-screen. Chris just never airs those bits because we all know how much he loves feeding on teenage angst and relationship trouble.
* Heather's treatment for much of this season. Even toward the ending she's ''still'' treated like the villain even though that job as been handed off to Alejandro. While ''Cody'' having the most supporters makes sense, Alejandro ''still'' has more supporters than Heather. Even Bridgette [[LampshadeHanging Lampshades]] this by asking how many were voted off due to him.
** It is unfair, but all of the people who supported Alejandro except Courtney who would have personal qualms with supporting Heather, were either extremely shallow or a bit slow (or both). The remaining smart people, and even the people who were only slightly slow, almost unanimously supported Cody instead, and many of them were perfectly happy to see Heather beat Alejandro in the end.
** Four words: Never. Live. It. Down. Heather WAS the BigBad ManipulativeBitch back in season one, and the AlphaBitch in season two, of course a lot of contestants still hate her even after she stopped being a villain, you can't expect them to just forgive her on the spot like that. As for Alejandro's supporters: Lindsay, Sadie and Katie think he's hot, Tyler is probably still accepting of Al ''or'' just wants to sit with Lindsay. All four dislike Heather, and aren't friends with Cody (except maybe Tyler). Besides, all the members of her in-universe hatedom cheered for her at the end, that was fair enough.
** Not to mention those four have the combined IQ of Patrick Star.
** For most of the contestants, Heather was probably their second choice among the final 3.
* Okay a better question, why is Leshawna so cruel to her? Unlike the others she and Heather buried the hatchet in the last season. Also Heather's warnings about Alejandro were proven correct. Yet Leshawna is ''still'' bragging about giving her the beat down.
** It's possible that Leshawna and Heather's rivalry was reignited between seasons. Heather and Gwen had a blog war according to the Action special, and considering that Leshawna is a close friend of Gwen, she probably chose to side with Gwen and was mad at Heather for it.
* "The Am-AH-zon Race". Why did Team Amazon babble on about who they wanted to vote off? Whenever they showed the "who's voting for who" scenes all times before (which was, humorously, only Team Victory), they never gave their reasons for why they were voting whoever off (of course, most of these were either obvious or used for humor). Did Chris tell Team Amazon to say who they'd vote for and why in order to stir up drama? It was also used to start the Sierra and Cody subplot in the next episode, but still.
** They could have said who they wanted to vote off, but since there was a time limit for each episode, or for dramatic tension, they cut it out.
* Why "would Brainzilla" keep Izzy's bikini on. It just doesn't seem like something "she'd" wear. Maybe the army didn't have anything else for her to wear (she did leave from Jamaica, after all)?
** For the same reason that most kids' shows have them stick to one outfit only most of the time. One, it's just more unnecessary time and expense to animate changes in clothes, even from season to season change, because the character has to be completely redrawn. Second, even though the characters all look so unique, a change of clothes [[ViewersAreMorons might confuse children who use that to help them identify who is who.]] Third, the outfits are kind of iconic, especially for cosplay, and if they did decide to sell more merch it would just be confusing. Also, who's to say that Total Drama is linear? Only a few of them appear to get taller, and there's no changes in hairstyles or faces in what amounts to almost two years, give or take the time between seasons 2 and three.
** They were ''sixteen'' when the show began. Many of them wouldn't need to grow that much, especially the girls. Cody, who is the most likely of the group to be a late bloomer, was among those who did get taller. Not to mention that the show could take place over the course of less than one year (Summer, immediately after, the following winter/spring) and probably did, given that Heather still needed hair extensions in ''World Tour''.
*** In one of the Animation Nation interview videos released before season four, a question about new outfits actually came up. Christian Potenza (?) actually said it was too much of a challenge to draw new outfits every season. Changing hairstyles (at least in Heather's case) was necessary to establish a timeline, and it is technically a smaller alteration to work with.
* If Chris wanted to get rid of Ezekiel so badly, then why, when all the animals were carted up after the plane exploded, did he have the interns box Ezekiel up too? made even more confusing when he complains to Sierra about how they can't get rid of him, minutes before Alejandro finds him captured by the interns.
** Perhaps Ezekiel simply sneaked on board like he did in Africa and hid in an empty crate?
* Episode 15, "The Ex Files". The contestants break into Area 51, discover several alien artifacts and even REAL, LIVE ALIENS. And... nobody cares and the US Government makes no effort to cover this up. In the actual show it was made very clear that the US Government wanted to keep Area 51 a secret, so it's really hard to suspend disbelief about this. And although Chris claimed to have friends who worked for Area 51, there's no way they'd just let a TV Show air all of their secrets. That's comparable to the president allowing a friend to bomb a country just to capture it all on film. And the discovery of alien life would be one of the most monumental discoveries EVER made in history, so how come the aliens are just treated like they're no big deal? Even CODY, a stereotypical GEEK couldn't care less about the existence of alien life! At least we get a ContinuityNod in the beginning of the episode when Gwen said that, "Area 51 is where they keep all the cool alien junk" (Gwen and Duncan bonded over their love of alien movies in TDA). The biggest reaction anyone gave toward the aliens was [[AnalProbing "Don't probe me, bro!"]], which was just a one-off joke. And their nonchalant reactions were NOT played for comedy; the aliens were just sort of there in that one episode and then [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment never mentioned again.]]
** This is the same show where Bigfoot makes regular appearances and nobody bats an eye, so maybe the contestants and a lot of the viewers were used to seeing that kind of stuff. Alternatively, after the episode aired, the US government either issued a statement claiming the whole episode was staged (reality TV isn't known for being real a lot of the time), or had all their alien stuff moved to another location to keep it hidden from the conspiracy nuts.
* In the second Aftermath (the telethon), DJ appears as a guest on the show. But, he was eliminated in Jamaica, the same place the cast was stranded. Why was he brought back to Canada, and not the rest of the cast? Sure, they didn't have money for fuel, but nobody decided to help them?
** They were only paid to pick up DJ, so they thought the others weren't their problem?
* If Chris was so mad at Duncan quitting, to the point where he awarded Team Amazon the win in London for finding him, why'd he let him quit in the first place? It wasn't like DJ in Action, where he climbed into the limosine on his own volition, Christ literally pushed him out of the plane.
* How does Duncan come to hate Courtney so much after their breakup? He no longer has feelings for her, and that she was a pretty unpleasant girlfriend to have, but other than that she didn't really do anything to him (other than the kick to the crotch). He also sort of apologised after kissing Gwen, so he clearly understands that he did the wrong thing and really hurt Courtney, but right after that he seems to hate her as much as she hates him. His anger towards her just sort of comes off as "I'm angry at you for being angry at me".
** Courtney's treatment of Duncan wasn't "unpleasant," it was straight-up ''abuse.'' Him hating her makes sense.
* How come, at ''no point'' in the season, did Alejandro tell Owen he doesn't like being called Al?
** Probably either didn't mind it if it were Owen, or he didn't have the heart to tell the big guy. Most likely the latter.
*** But Alejandro ''hated'' Owen and wasn't very shy about showing it. Owen just didn't notice because he's not that bright. So I think that Alejandro would have been perfectly okay telling Owen not to use a nickname he didn't like unless he just wanted an excuse to hate the guy.
** He might not have wanted anyone to know of such an easy way to grind his gears out of fear that they would use it against him. After all, that's exactly what Cody did when he learned Alejandro hates being called "Al", and it cost him a moment in the game.
* How come Gwen never develops feelings for Alejandro in the season? And how come Courtney only did ''AFTER'' she broke up with Duncan? It's just annoyingly inconsistent to have only some girls become smitten by Alejandro (who is supposed to be the ultimate lady-killer) upon meeting him while others are totally immune to him for no explained reason. At least Justin consistently makes ''every'' girl swoon over him, and not just the ones the writers want to strain the relationships of (and Heather, [[BelligerentSexualTension sort of]]).
** Did Alejandro ever actually say a word to Gwen this season? He has to actually pay attention to someone to charm them. In All-Stars, he did attempt to charm Gwen, and she even made a confessional about his irresistible eyes.
** Gwen could be immune to his charms for the same reason Noah was. Unlike Justin, Alejandro wasn't portrayed as supernaturally attractive, just a manipulative charmer, which is something that wouldn't work as well on cynics. As far as Courtney goes, she's not a particularly easy person to manipulate either; Alejandro just found the right time to do it.
** Courtney had just found out she had gotten cheated on; not many people showed her sympathy; and Gwen and Duncan decided to publicly show their relationship the next day. Enter Alejandro- handsome, sympathetic and saying all the right things.
*** True, but if Alejandro really was the master lady-charmer he's supposed to be, then Courtney would have still been smitten by him even when she was still in a relationship with Duncan (see what happened to Bridgette, Lindsay, and Izzy). Furthermore, Gwen did show some very mild attraction to Alejandro in ''All-Stars'' when he began flirting with her ("I know he's evil but... oof! Those eyes!"), which indicates she's not immune to his charms... and also makes her lack of attraction to him in ''World Tour'' all the more bizarre.
* Why was it that no one was suspicious of Alejandro convincing Tyler to tell everyone that he saw Duncan and Gwen kissing for his benefit? It's the most ObviouslyEvil thing he's done all season, and yet the only person in the game who is extremely suspicious of him is still Heather (and Duncan, to a lesser extent).
** Tyler trusted Alejandro, Gwen was on another team and eliminated before the merge, Sierra was too busy fawning over Cody to care, Cody was too upset over Gwen being with Duncan over him and dealing with Sierra's antics, Owen's not the brightest, and Courtney was too upset over being cheated on. Besides which would draw more ire? Someone bringing cheating to attention or the actual cheating being exposed?
* Why did Alejandro target Team Victory first and not Team Amazon? Gwen, Courtney, and Heather are much stronger competitors than any of the six members of Team Victory (only Leshawna and Lindsay have made it to the merge twice, and the latter is TheFool), while Sierra's fan knowledge and newcomer status would make her seem like a potent player. Furthermore, Heather's suspicions of Alejandro would also be much more justified from the start if Alejandro was going after her team over a bunch of people she generally doesn't care for and whose eliminations are arguably to her benefit. If anything, having Alejandro defeat the likes of Gwen, Courtney, and Heather and get them booted early would be a far better execution of TheWorfEffect.
** For out of show reasons, Gwen and Courtney needed to make it further for the triangle to work, and Heather needed to be Alejandro's rival. In show reasons? Alejandro needed Team Victory to be booted before the merge as he would have a harder time convincing his allies to vote out, say, Leshawna and not get suspicious of him.
** Alejandro took opportunities when they occurred, and Victory was just performing worse than Amazon. Also, Harold is deceptively skillful in the game and knowledgeable of the world, Leshawna's a challenge beast, and Bridgette, DJ, and Lindsay have all shown to be strong teammates in the past with no obvious enemies on the team after Ezeke is gone. Plus, if Amazon was on Victory's losing streak, Alejandro wouldn't need to stoke the flames of conflict since every strong player on that team is butting heads.
* Why does Tyler stop disliking Alejandro after the first few episodes? We saw how he was annoyed by Alejandro's flirting with Lindsay, but in the next episode, they are getting along just fine, and by the season's halfway point, Alejandro has his complete loyalty, and Tyler supports him in the finale for no explained reason!
** Perhaps Tyler saw Alejandro flirting with Bridgette and Leshawna, and presumed it was him being friendly to the girls.
* We know Chris says his decision for adding musical numbers in the season was because he believes that improvised singing makes for good ratings, but what's the meta-reason for the musical element?
** It's likely a relic from when it was going to be called ''Total Drama Musicial''.
* In "Revenge of the Telethon", Bridgette shows some signs of still being mildly attracted to Alejandro (even she recognizes it and indicates she doesn't like it), but Leshawna and Lindsay are shown to have completely gotten over him in the very same episode (which Bridgette didn't until the next Aftermath). This raises a question. How was Bridgette more seriously impacted by Alejandro's charms than the other girls were (to the point of trying to actually kiss him - and getting stuck to a pole as a result) when all the girls he flirted with were shown to be equally smitten by him?
** The other girls didn't try to kiss him and cheat on their boyfriends like Bridgette.
* All of the contestants were 16/17 as of ''World Tour'', and "Awwwwww, Drumheller" takes place in April 1st, as it had already been established that Cody's birthday is on that date. Weren't all the contestants supposed to be at school during that time? Did all of the contestants' parents simply agreed on letting their kids skip school for several weeks so they could have a chance at winning one million dollars? Or is it just supposed to be an [[AcceptableBreaksFromReality acceptable break from reality]]?
** They most likely convinced their parents by telling them that if they won 1 million, they wouldn't really need to attend school.
*** What about the peanut gallery? They're not competing, so they don't have the same rationale.
*** Maybe they're in school and only show up in the Aftermath Studio when needed.
*** [[ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem And maybe the staffs of their schools are big fans of the show?]] Maybe they all let them skip school under the promise to entertaint them in television...
* Why is Alejandro suddenly liked by everyone in the third season's premiere after his actions in the second season's special? Shouldn't the other contestants hate him for aiding Chris?
** He could have just convinced them that he was only doing it to get a chance to compete in season 3 and was being paid a large sum of money with the other contestants being understanding since Owen and Noah have worked for Chris before with no consequences to their reputations.
* Why wasn't Blaineley included in the third season's opening? Yeah, Blaineley didn't last very long in the competition, but Courtney joined in the middle of the second season and she was still featured in the opening.
** Either to avoid spoilers or because she wasn't on a team.
* In the third season premiere, Team Victory loses the first challenge due to Ezekiel losing the stick they needed when he tries to hit a crocodile with it, only for the crocodile to eat the stick. Why doesn't Zeke tell them that he lost the stick while following Harold's orders? Harold did tell him to do so, so, if Zeke had said this (yeah, Harold was singing, but Zeke could have said that he mistook his singing for an order), his teammates would have probably voted off Harold.
** Harold most likely would've defended himself by saying he was just singing and wasn't actually being serious (like you said). On top of that, Harold had far more respect from the team than Ezekiel, so Ezekiel probably would've still been out first regardless.
** Plus he never said to use the stick to hit the crocodile, or was talking to Ezekiel in particular.
* When Harold chooses a deer as Cody's spirit animal, everyone finds the idea funny, but shouldn't they, especially the former members of the Screaming Gophers, find the idea offensive/insultive and get angry at Harold? It was because of dressing as a deer that Cody was eliminated in the first season due to extreme injuries a bear inflicted on him.
** For one, they probably didn't think of it. For another, the reason he was mauled was because he was eating the chips the bear wanted. Him being dressed up as a deer wasn't really a factor.
* Is there a specific reason why Chris has such disdain towards Ezekiel right from the start of the season? In what few interactions they had in Island, Chris didn't seem to mind Ezekiel, and even tried giving him some advice when they first met. Yet, at the start of ''World Tour'', Chris has a very short fuse with Ezekiel. Yeah, sure, Zeke did interrupt him a few times, but to me, it comes off as the result of a long-lasting dislike for Ezekiel that happened offscreen or something. What I want to know is what it was and/or why Chris goes from being friendly to Ezekiel in the few instances they interacted, to acting like he's always hated the guy since the moment they met.
* Why was there no song time opening for “Blaineriffic” in “Niagara Brawls”?
* Why does no one on Team Amazon or even Team Victory (in the time between the challenge ending and elimination) try to free Bridgette from the pole? Considering Gwen, Courtney, Leshawna, Lindsay, and DJ are good friends with her, it does make them come off as bad friends for not trying to remove the pole from Bridgette's tongue.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Total Drama: Revenge of the Island]]
* Why did Mike put on a hat, not once, but ''twice?'' If he knows what Vito's trigger is, he surely would have to know about Manitoba's.
** The personalities could’ve been erased but come back.
*** In Mike's audition tapes, he mentions having "the keen sense of a wilderness survivor." Manitoba was definitely around and active before Mike put on that hat.
* Where does everyone go after they get catapulted?
** Possibly to the loser resort, though it's uncertain.
** Playa de Losers, most likely. There's probably a big landing cushion for them.
*** In the exclusive clip of “The Treasures of Dr. [=McLean=]”, Sam and Dakota are preparing for a wrestling match.
** Considering how the removal of the cast members became more barbaric with each season? They probably are just flung into the middle of the ocean. As to how they survive and make it to safety... [[RuleOfFunny well, that's just thinking too deeply about it.]]
* Why did Dawn, the girl who can sense things, vote for B instead of Scott?
* How did Scott find the immunity idol? He never explained how he found it, and there wasn't a scene that showed him finding it.
** It likely happened between "Truth or Laser Shark" and "Ice Ice Baby". He was actively looking for it (while the others were sleeping), but it's implied by his confessional he hadn't yet found it at the morning of "Truth or Laser Shark". In "Food Fright" of ''All-Stars'', Scott mentions he found the invincibility statue in "no time flat" and is certain he'll find it again if he gets a "whole night". Such a timeline also works with the revelation in "Backstabbers Ahoy!" that he'd been making and planting fakes, which hints at the fact he had the original as model.
* In "Backstabbers Ahoy!", why did Mike promise to tone down or even retire his "characters?" He knows he's incapable of doing either of those things. Obviously he's not exactly thinking into the future with his whole decision to hide his disorder, but he couldn't come up with any better solution than make a promise he knows he'll appear to break shortly?
* Does having multiple personalities really work that way?
** No. Then again, expecting the creators of a cartoon (who probably don't have degrees in psychology) to get it right and simultaneously make it entertaining are slim.
** A person cannot just take a big gasp of air and turn into a completely different individual, unless they are only pretending (which would mean they are doing it on purpose). This is one of the flaws in saying that Mike has MPD.
** But the gasp wasn't what caused the switch, just a way to show that he was switching in that moment?
** Yeah, it was an indication so that kids would understand.
** If you watch carefully, you see one of the triggers Cameron described in Episode 8 just before the gasp happens. So it's not the gasp that makes one of Mike's alters show up or Mike return to himself, it's the trigger.
* How is Chris not in jail, he's admitted to doing illegal activities on Reality TV.
** He did get arrested in the season finale. It probably [[StatusQuoIsGod won't last]], though.
*** Or maybe it will and next season new host (maybe chef).
*** It doesn't stick. They let him out on parole specifically to host the show.
* Why the hell did Scott not get forced to show the Chris [=McLean=] seal of approval? For all we know, the idol did not have it and he simply pulled out a replica just to stay in the game.
** On a related note, how did Scott know about the seal of approval in the first place (so he could create his fakes)? Scott isn't revealed to have found it until a few episodes later (where Chris mentions someone had found it), so he wouldn't be able to know it has a seal. Obviously it would've been a bad idea to make immunity idols for others to find if they could be indistinguishable from the real one, or even if the original didn't have a seal or something to mark that it's the real one.
** The real idol was presumably hidden somewhere the people running the show could track; probably somewhere where a contestant would be on camera when they found it. (Supported by the fact that Chris knew in advance when someone actually found the idol.) This is a reasonable assumption for a contestant (i.e. Scott) to make in advance. The seal of approval would just be a quick way to check if the footage hadn't been looked at recently enough. The fact that Chris didn't double-check that Scott's idol was real was just ConservationOfDetail. It's already established to be the real thing, so there's no point in wasting some extra time proving it a second way.
* What would happen if Mike's shirt were ripped off AND a fedora was placed on his head? Would he turn into a certain personality depending on what happened first, or would he become a quasi mix of the personalities?
** Based on what we've seen with Chester it seems that Mike's triggers work on LIFO (Last In First Out) so the most recent trigger would probably take precedent though given how Svetlana functions and the Battle at the Center of the Mind it entirely plausible that if the situation specifically favored one personality the others would back down. There have certainly been situations where turning to Chester out of sheer frustration would have made equal or more sense than changing into Svetlana and rocking a challenge but she seems to show up when needed.
** Another example is when Zoey is hanging from a totem pole and Scott rips of Mikes shirt, exposing Vito. Mike's trigger is there, but the Vito trigger occurred most recently and therefore takes priority.
** Or when Mike was trying to reach the spider web. There are THREE triggers going on there (shirt's off, Zoey's in peril, need for athleticism), but Svetlana's trigger was the most recent, so she took over.
* What happened to all of the characters Mike's VA previewed?
** Chester stayed the same, Svetlana also stayed the same except for now she's Russian instead of Swedish, Manitoba Mike become Manitoba Smith and Vince became Vito.
* We know that the cast was replaced InUniverse because Chris said they had "outlived their usefulness", but what about the meta-reason for doing so? WordOfGod is that Alejandro and Sierra had been added the previous season "to mix things up and add an element of surprise for both the cast and the audience", so was there similar logic behind creating a totally new cast for the season (same goes with the ''Pahkitew Island'' contestants)?
** Probably to keep things from getting stale.
** To keep things interesting is definitely the primary reason. You'll notice every season adds a new element to "keep things interesting" (''Action'' had the movie theme, ''World Tour'' showed them traveling across the world, etc). A new cast isn't even the only element added to spice things up in ''ROTI''; the toxic waste was almost certainly put there so Wawanakwa would be more unique and interesting. When you're creating a show about a reality television show and are trying to think of ways to keep the show fresh and interesting, getting a new cast is a very logical progression. ''Series/{{Survivor}}'', which ''Total Drama'' is based off, gets a new cast every season, after all. Plus, we had been with the same cast for seventy-eight episodes. The writers simply felt like all the plots and interactions between these characters had already been done, and wanted to try something new.
* Speaking of that, why ''did'' Chris and the producers believe the old cast had outlived its usefulness?
** In the last episode of ''World Tour'', Chris says "Maybe with a whole new cast, cause, let's face it, these guys are probably gonna melt" after the volcano erupts.
** True, but they ''didn't''. We saw that everyone was perfectly fine in the first episode of ''Revenge of the Island'', not to mention Chris himself was caught in the same eruption and almost killed as well. If Chris believing the contestants would all die was his and the producers' reason for replacing them, then Chris himself almost dying from the same volcano meant the producers could have tried to replace him with a new host as well.
** He did say it as more of a joke, but knowing Chris, he probably used it as an excuse to get a new cast, possibly because the old cast had grown used to his actions and couldn't be as easily fooled.
** Chris also might have thought that a new cast would boost ratings.
* Why does Dakota become a 20 ft. tall mutated giant after being exposed to toxic waste, while Izzy in ''World Tour'' went into a crate of radioactive material, and simply has a green glow for the rest of "Anything Yukon Do, I Can Do Better"?
** Considering the amount of crazy stuff Izzy does on a daily basis, it's not farfetched to assume she has probably built up an immunity to radioactive material over time.
** Also, it was probably a smaller amount of radiation, whereas Dakota was in a radioactive mine for 40 minutes, probably with more material. That still doesn't explain why the mutation was delayed, though...
* In "The Treasure Island of Dr. [=McLean=]", Mike tells Cameron to give him more 10 years to tell Zoey about his multiple personalities. Except, at this point he's already admitted to having M.P.D. on international television. Wasn't Zoey bound to find out about it after the competition had ended?
* In "Ice Ice Baby," Sam was in the bottom two with B. B was the eliminated contestant that episode, but why did B vote for Sam? He's already friends with him. Why not vote for Scott, the one who sabotaged the team?
** While, yes, you do have a point, I believe that was mostly supposed to be a joke.
** B didn't vote for Sam, he voted for Scott as expected. Lightning voted for Sam, as he stated in confessional. This gave both Sam and Scott 1 vote each while the rest was for B. It would've made more sense for Scott to be in the bottom 2 for more tension and drama (or to have a bottom 3 instead), but oh well.
* Dawn mentions that there's evil on the island, which everybody knows is referring to Scott. She also is able to tell the difference between Mike and company using her psychic powers - so why didn't she know about Mal?
** It's possible that, since Mal was dormant throughout Revenge of the Island, Dawn wasn't able to access him with her psychic powers.
*** Yes, but not not only do we never get an explanation for Dawn's powers, it's never explicitly stated that he went dormant. All we get is Mike's personalities panicking because "he's back," which could mean that, like Mal claims, he's finished "biding his time," which he wouldn't say had he been dormant.
*** Why would it be impossible for Mal to be both dormant and "biding his time"? Mal could have been in some state of half-consciousness as he regained his energy.
** Regardless if whether or not he was fully awake the whole time, Mal hadn't taken control of the body in ''years.'' His aura might have been so hidden beneath the surface that Dawn never detected it.
** Dawn might not have seen Mal simply because she was not looking for him. There's no indication that Dawn knew about Mike's multiple personalities the second she met him, it could have been something she only noticed or looked into when he kept switching and his aura would presumably change. Dawn had no reason to believe Mike had an evil or hidden personality, so she never searched for him.
* Where did Mike get that necklace from? Where would he have found the materials and time to make it? Plus, as Chris stated in episode four, he doesn't allow people to pack before he hurls them and besides all the Maggots' stuff got crushed. Does Mike just carry a necklace with his face on it everywhere he goes?
* What happened to Heather's tooth?
* Why does Scott never try to get Lightning eliminated during the teams phase? Scott's strategy was to eliminate strong members of his own team, and Lightning is a physical powerhouse, so you'd think Scott would try and get rid of his team's strongest athlete as soon as he could.
** Lightning may be a physical threat, but he also isn't particularly bright which makes him easy for Scott to manipulate. And looking at each elimination, he likely saw Staci as too annoying to tolerate and helped vote her out, Dakota had proven to be TheLoad and potentially would've been harder to convince everyone to vote off anyone else over her, B was an even bigger threat with nearly netting the team wins that would be harder for Scott to sabotage without coming off as suspicious the longer he stayed, Dawn was beginning to catch on to Scott which led him to target her (and had Dawn not gotten too suspicious, Scott knew Brick was a bigger threat in intelligence and physical strength and wanted to take advantage of him being the newest member of the Toxic Rats), and Sam was proven to be an easier target to get Brick and Lightning to vote off. After Sam's elimination, Scott ended up swapping teams with Jo so he never got the opportunity to vote off Lightning as a result. It is possible had the team swap not happened, Lightning would have been next (or at least Scott would string him along to potentially get him to vote off the smarter Brick).

[[folder:Total Drama All-Stars]]
* Can somebody please explain why Courtney is on the Heroic Hamsters?
** Because Courtney stands for superficial conformity to conventional ideals, believes herself to be a hero, and if Chris put all the actual heroes on the same team, they wouldn't have the internal conflict that he usually deliberately instigates.
** Exactly Courtney is the TokenEvilTeammate for the Hamsters while Gwen is the TokenGoodTeammate for the Vultures.
*** Though some would argue Gwen isn't as good as she thinks, either.
** Not anymore, on Courtney's part.
* Why is Jo complaining about her team having 6 members while the other team had 7? That's exactly the same as her original team last year.
** She didn't win the game last year. Maybe she's that picky.
** The only logical explanation is that Jo took notice of how capable the other team's members were, consisting of characters that not only made it very far in at least one series, but also work very well together. There definitely was a disadvantage.
* Why exactly is Chris allowed to do another season of Total Drama while on parole? Is the TD Canadian legal system really OK with him spending another season torturing teenagers for our entertainment?
** The Canadians and everybody else could clearly care less about Chris torturing teenagers for our entertainment. This show is a show in-universe complete with behind the scenes and a viewing audience that sees if not everything we see most of it. (It actually seems via the flash backs that they actually see MORE than we see and we get the best cuts) Chris's arrest had to do with the Toxic Waste on the Island which apparently was cleaned up, the mutated animals eliminated/relocated/best not to think about it and apparently TD is sufficiently popular and bring in enough money that Canada was willing to parole Chris for the revenue he'd bring in with another season of the show.
** Chris is a huge celebrity in-universe and incredibly wealthy, so he or the producers probably got good lawyers to win that parole. Besides, reality TV is a notoriously shameless and exploitative genre, so the people who love watching the show in the TD universe don't bat an eye to what he does.
* In the beginning of "Saving Private Leechball", The Malevolent One breaks Sam's "Game Guy". It's at night, and Mike was seen in his [=PJs=] when he and Cameron went to bed. When the Malevolent One strikes, he's in Mike's normal clothes. Did he get dressed specifically for that occasion? This is probably just a minor animation error, but it's still confusing.
** Knowing [[EvilIsHammy Mal]], he probably didn't want to do his acts of evil in canary yellow pajamas. That would just look ''stupid.''
* Why is Sam in All Stars?
** They already chose all six characters who made it past the merge from ROTI, and they needed one more. Why they choice Sam over actual heroes like B and Brick, however, is still a mystery.
** Brick is obviously at Fashion School.
** They needed someone on the hero team to eliminate after the first episode so they could play out all the storylines with the others (Sierra's Cody withdrawal, Cam trying to help Mike, being Sierra's reluctant ReplacementGoldfish and getting shuttled over to the vultures, Mike's whole situation with The Malevolent One, Zoey reacting to that, Courtney getting shuttled over to the other team and Duncan's whole drama with Gwen and possibly knowing the malevolent one. All of these are either apparent before his elimination or come into play shortly afterwords. The Villain team didn't have a plant like that simply because they had a limited selection (with Gwen only being placed there for dramatic reasons and Courtney being swapped over after a few episodes) and limited space, with Justin being the only one left out, and the only one who'd be obvious elimination bait before their exit episode.
** Perhaps the writers didn't want to bring Owen back for a fourth round, but they still wanted an Owen-like character to replace him. Sam was the closest to an Owen replacement. Ironically, now a lot of fans have wondered why Owen isn't in All-Stars but Sam is...
*** That being said, the writers wanted to bring back an equal number of contestants from the original series (and ''World Tour'') and ''Revenge''.
*** However, the ''World Tour'' contestants aren't part of Gen 1 (they're more of Gen 1.5, if anything), so with Owen instead of Sam, it would have been a 6-2-6 divide.
*** Putting Jo in the villains isn't too much of a stretch when looking at some of those other shows that have done "Heroes vs. Villains", especially Survivor, wherein the "villains" team often include people who are simply not afraid to be pragmatic. Sure, Jo is certainly ''not'' a nice girl, but pretty much every "Villainous" thing she did was to win, rather than watching Cameron and Brick suffer.
*** But she did leave her team to die in a radioactive mine.
* Sam's reasoning for hoarding the extra bites of pancake doesn't make sense. Him not wanting to go back to Boney Island makes sense but his heroic team wouldn't force him to, especially not if he won the challenge for them. Besides, the last time he went no one made him go--he himself volunteered because his anemia was making him into a hindrance during the challenge. So... huh?
** Maybe Sam was saving it for ''whoever'' would go to Boney Island that night, not specifically himself. He said, "In case I had to go back", but maybe he was just going to repay his team for their kindness when they did it for him. That's just speculation, but who knows.
** From an IRL perspective, the writers likely decided Sam had little left to contribute to the season (the above question seems to make it clear he was only there to fill and empty hero space anyway) and had to find a way to get the heroes to want to eliminate him, seeing as no one had any malice for him.
** Sam was acting on paranoia, which isn't an emotion that causes people to make the most logical choices.
* In "Moon Madness," Cameron gets fed up with Sierra's clinginess and affectations and decides to get away from her Heroic Hamsters to vote her off if he was that desperate to get rid of her? Mike and Zoey are his close friends and by removing himself from the competition. Rather than quit, though, why couldn't he just have asked the rest of the would easily oblige his request, especially after seeing how Sierra was going crazy from Cody withdrawal and treating Cameron as a ReplacementGoldfish. Duncan played in TDWT with her so he knows how far she can get with her obsessions and wouldn't have a problem voting her off. Cameron was certainly quick to ask the Vultures to vote her off when they would have no inclination to listen to him. Plus, he had earlier promised to help Mike with his or lack of multiple personalities which he couldn't be able to do if he was eliminated.
** Cameron's a really nice guy, so maybe he felt it would be too mean to betray Sierra like that, especially since she hadn't really done anything serious to make the team lose the challenge that episode. Perhaps Cameron felt better about doing it when he got moved to the Vultures.
* Why is it that Courtney and Alejandro haven't even spoken at all to one another? Did Courtney just flat out stop caring for him after he lost the million dollars?
** Courtney might have come to realize that Alejandro was just using her during ''World Tour'' after the season, and as a result, has vowed to no longer talk to him. Alejandro doesn't exactly have a good reputation with all the other contestants, so maybe Courtney eventually picked up on that joined the crowd.
* Heather didn't want to look suspicious while holding the immunity idol, so she stows it away in a simple hiding spot...then tells Alejandro about it?! And then she blames CHRIS for supposedly stealing it?! Even if they wanted to get rid of Heather early, why on earth would they derail one of the smartest competitors into making such simple mistakes?
** Heather admitting to Alejandro that she found the statue just shows how confident she was that she had hidden it somewhere ''nobody'' would find it. So for Heather, who doesn't really have any contestant to suspect above all others, the most likely to have stolen it was the guy with the cameras everywhere and who loves himself some drama and disappointed contestants.
** Being a SmugSnake has always been part of Heather's character.
** That may be, but while she was always a SmugSnake, she was never this careless.
* How old are the classic competitors from season one now? Season 2 started filming 2 days after Season 1, but we're not given a timeline between seasons 2 and 3. It is never stated in-series how long the gap between seasons 3 and 4 are but we do know that season 5 takes place 1 year after season 4. Are the season 1 veterans 19, 20 or even 21 by now?
** They're probably 18, maybe 19 at most in some cases. Celebrity Manhunt probably took place at the end of the same year as seasons one and two, since the show was eligible for an award during that. Season three likely took place a couple of months later at most (we know it ended in April because of Cody's birthday, and it probably wouldn't have been a full year after the special.) Alejandro mentions being in the robot suit (end of season three) for about a year, and Chris was in prison for a year (end of season four), so season four presumably took place not long after season three (possibly the following summer, making it a full year after season one). Hence, season five takes place around two years after season one.
** As of Episode 8 of Total Drama All Stars, Duncan is STILL under 18, since he was expecting to go to Juvie. But if Season 5 took place a year after Season 4 and Duncan is still at most 17, then seasons 1 - 4 would have had to take place all in the same year, which makes no sense... Unless the writers are just invoking {{Not Allowed to Grow Up}} and all the characters are going to stay 16 forever...
*** Duncan may have simply gotten used to facing juvie as a consequence. If he had only just turned 18, it might not have yet occurred to him that he was suddenly an adult in the eyes of the law.
** The season takes place 4 years after TDI. In episode 12 of last season, Chris mentions three years had passed since Island when reminiscing about his pet plant, and a he spent a year in prison. Therefore, everyone from Season 1 is about 20.
* In "Suckers Punched", after Zoey scores a point for the Heroes by doing so well in the last challenge, Cameron is seen cheering along with them. Yes, most of them are his friends, and they are his former team, but still.
** Cameron's a NiceGuy. Remember how he decided to split his prize money with even his enemies back on ROTI? He's definitely the type of person who would root for his friends even if they were on an enemy team.
* In "Suckers Punched", when the Villains got to choose who to vote off the Heroes team, why did they choose Sierra? Duncan has made more enemies than her and one would expect Gwen and Courtney to try to boot him off. Also, Duncan is the biggest threat on the Heroes team since he has made it to the final five in EVERY season he's competed in. That's one hell of an average. And because of her {{Flanderization}}, Sierra is a mere shell of the {{Genre Savvy}} super-fan who knew Total Drama inside and out. She has spent the ENTIRE season doing NOTHING but obsessing over Cody or her precious "Camody"; she hasn't pulled any strategic moves like she did in ''World Tour''. Even if Gwen and Cameron cared enough to let Sierra see the real Cody again (although, let's be honest, Cameron just wanted to get rid of Sierra period), why would the other members of the Villains team care? For all they knew, Sierra's {{Sanity Slippage}} would just cripple the rest of the Heroes team. Eliminating her was a stupid move on the Villains' part. And this is coming from someone who was happy to see Sierra go!
** While Duncan being a formidable competitor is true it doesn't seem like he has ''so'' many enemies left in ''All Stars''; Scott, Alejandro and Cameron have no particular beef with him (in fact Duncan's interaction with Scott has been pretty friendly). Gwen broke up with him, but she's not an outright enemy as such - she doesn't seem all that angry over ending things with him. Really only Courtney dislikes him particularly and even there she seems over him more than anything.
** She's UNPREDICTABLE. That plus her insane determination makes her dangerous. We already know Cameron wants Sierra gone, Gwen is Cameron's friend so she probably went along with Cameron. Also, Courtney and Gwen seem to be more ignoring/dismissive of Duncan than hating him this time around. Considering all these factors, it isn't surprising that the team's consensus was to boot Sierra.
** If Chris was starting to get scared of Sierra, then everyone was starting to get uneasy around her. The good guys were probably worried about the toll the show was taking on her mental health, and the bad guys probably didn't want to face an insane competitor who is also strong enough to punch-out sharks and holds up three people plus herself from the edge of a cliff. As for Duncan, that blue bird incident probably destroyed most of his cred.
** Even with her SanitySlippage, Sierra is still a fairly strong competitor who knows everything about the show (though ironically, she seems to have been a worse competitor since her SanitySlippage.) Also, perhaps the Villains wanted to MercyKill her for her own sake (and Cameron's). Other than Alejandro, none of them are really all that nasty (Scott's not as bad this time around, and Courtney's come around now that she's better friends with Gwen).
** From a real world perspective, the writers probably thought that Sierra had exhausted all of her material for the time being. She didn't have any other plot relevance to the main storyline other than humor, so it was her time to go.
** Cameron had a beef with Sierra because of the whole Camody thing. Gwen spent the last two episodes making nice with him and Courtney. Cameron probably convinced Gwen to boot Sierra (it didn't take much convincing, as she also doesn't like her because of Cody's situation), and Courtney felt like it was her turn to return the favor Gwen did her in the last episode (by voting together.) Hence, the heroes have three votes against Sierra to the villains' two. Scott was right: the heroes DID take over the villains' team.
** At this point, ''nobody'' remaining in the competition liked Sierra.
* The timeframe during the confession cams doesn't make sense. For example, in "Suckers Punched", when Sierra goes to fight the baby two-headed rat mutant's mother, she leaves it in the care of Cameron and quickly jump cuts to him doing a quick confession cam with it, and then it jump cuts back to Sierra's fight, which lasts less than 15 seconds, after which the mother takes back its baby. This implies that Cameron somehow [[ConversationCut warped time]]. The same thing happened with Mal practicing his Mike voice in "Moon Madness."
** Sierra could have taken her time prepping for the fight. We can assume that the challenges in reality take much longer to complete (giving contestants plenty of time to reach a confessional) and that editors used some creative cutting to get the end result.
** Also, a lot of the confessionals can simply be the characters reflecting on events after they've happened.
** This is actually very consistent with the ways real reality shows are shot. (E.g., the host will describe a challenge and you'll cut to a contestant in a "candid interview" saying "No problem! I do that all the time" and then they'll cut back to the host saying "But there's one more thing ... you'll be doing it blindfolded" and then cut to that same contestant in the same candid interview saying "Wha....?") It seems obvious the producers ask the contestants to sum up what they were thinking at the time (or make up something that it would have been funny for them to have been thinking at the time).
** Plus this show is a parody of reality television. Trying to make sense of stuff like this is kind of irrelevant because a parody isn't necessarily supposed to make perfect sense.
* Why didn't Cameron notice something was up when Mike tried to talk him into breaking up Scott and Courtney, even though that's something completely out of Mike's character and Cameron was already suspicious of Mike being evil?
** Arguably Cameron wasn't in his right mind. He was paranoid of everyone and assumed Mike and Zoey were the only ones on his side. Since he's complained about this to Mike/Mal constantly, he probably figured Mike was willing to think dirty to help him out. Helps that he doesn't particularly like Scott.
* In "Island" we were explicitly told that the timespan was eight weeks with a challenge every three days and the timespans of "Action" and "Revenge of the Island" was vague at best. However in ''World Tour'' and ''All-Stars'' we have to presume that there is a new challenge everyday because the standard prize is that the winner gets to spend the night in the deluxe accommodations. So does this mean that "All-Stars" takes place in a period of less than two weeks?
** Did ''World Tour'' explicitly state that first class was a one-night reward rather than a "several days to the next challenge" reward? Either way, based on the "night on Boney Island" setup, it would appear that All-Stars is possibly the shortest season in-universe. (Which sort of introduces FridgeLogic that makes some/most of the characters look far more touchy or impulsive in their arcs.)
** While it's uncertain about the first class resort being one night only, there are lines that pretty much confirm that ''World Tour'' takes place over an extended period of time. In "Sweden Sour", Chris calls TCIRRRRH "dingoes" and then says he should have used that line "''last week'', in Australia" ("Picnic at Hanging Dork", the episode directly before)
* "The Obsta-Kill Kourse": A confused Scott asks Courtney if she ever kissed Alejandro. Courtney said she did years ago, more than likely referring to ''World Tour''. Except....''when did she and Alejandro ever kiss??'' It was never shown on screen at any given time, as the only person Alejandro has ever kissed was Heather (along with an AccidentalKiss with Bridgette). Also, had Courtney and Alejandro kissed, there's ''no way'' that Chris wouldn't have used that footage for drama, considering the large LoveDodecahedron involving those two, Gwen, Duncan, and Heather.
** Chris doesn't choose which clips to show on air. In episode 10 that Chris was mad about clips of him dangling over acid were being played during the recap (It was Chef but Chris blamed the editors).
* How is it that none of the other contestants noticed Mal gripping Alejandro? Zoey only notices them ''after'' they're finished talking. To add onto this, how did they not notice when Chris laughs about Alejandro's last name over the P.A.?
** When Mal was walking over to Alejandro he was looking behind him as if making the others were too distracted to see him go over to talk to Alejandro. They were preoccupied with talking each other or an animal or something. They noticed Chris talking and Zoey was probably walking over while they were talking and got there just as they finished.
* Why didn't Alejandro just write "Mike is Mal" on the picture instead of doing the devil horns?
** Pretty much the same reason why he didn't just outright say he hid a DVD in the spa hotel. It's a common act in fiction that, no matter what, people can't reveal certain things just ''because'' it would ruin the plot.
** Simple, he knows nobody would believe him.
** While writing "Mike is Mal" would make sense, given that the audience is aware of Mike's MPD and that an evil personality has taken over his body, we cant be sure that Alejandro is aware about that. In the first episode, Alejandro states that he had been stuck in the robot suit for a year and that his last memories were of being swarmed in lava at the finale of TDWT so presumably he wouldn't have watched TDROTI to know that Mike had Multiple Personality Disorder. The other contestants knowing how much a ManipulativeBastard Alejandro is probably didn't tell him about Mike's disorder so as to prevent him using it to his advantage. Without this knowledge, Alejandro probably thought that Mal was the real personality and that his Mike 'persona' was just an act to fool people into liking him sort of like what Alejandro did in TDWT. Perhaps he thought Mike was a fake name or that he liked being called Mal? At any rate, drawing Mike with the devil horns showed a clearer message. As for why he didn't tell anyone about the DVD in the spa hotel, he didn't want Mal to know where it was and destroying it.
* Why would Duncan, who's normally savvy about crime, think he would go back to Juvie for blowing up Chris's cottage?
** Habit? He probably thought A) blowing up the cottage wasn't any worse than what he did to get himself into Juvie in the first place, B) every time he got into trouble before juvie was the threat instead of prison and C)he forgot it was Chris he was messing with.
** Considering the crimes that Chris gets away with that are worlds worse than blowing up a cottage and as of All-Stars includes at best the involuntary perdition on balloons of most of the original casts he probably thought the Island was somehow out of their jurisdiction. The question is why he really thought he was going to Juvie at all.
** It's pretty obvious that Duncan forgot he turned 18, and is simply dumb enough to expect a trip back to Juvie.
* This may be just me, but doesn't it seem like the writers were favoring the second cast over the originals? To start, they bring back 7 TDR campers, but only 5 of the original 22, and one of them is voted off first. Next, the final 3 are composed of new cast members.
** Favoring the two casts equally would be too predictable. Plus, the newer cast has much more room for character development. Keep in mind the old cast already got 3 seasons dedicated to them.
** Think of it this way: Some of these players have played ''three times'', whereas the new guys have only got one chance. (Alejandro and Sierra included.)
* Why is it that no one ever lampshades the fact that Scott is much different now than he was in ''Revenge''?
** Maybe the ''Revenge of the Island'' competitors are more willing to put past grudges to rest compared to the ''Island'' competitors. Especially since Scott's karma was so much worse than simply getting your head shaved. And his brush with death may have also scared Scott into thinking twice about ever doing something ''really'' bad again.
** Thsi happens a few times in some of the Reality Shows that this game is spoofing - Coach in ''Survivor Heroes vs. Villains'' wasn't the same Coach he was in Tocantins (to be fair part of that was [[ManipulativeEditing the editors]]), and nobody except the fans really pointed that out. James Clement in ''Heroes vs. Villains'' was certainly ''NOT'' a "hero" in the least bit, an Tyson wasn't even that much of a "villain". A non ''Survivor'' example is Jeff in Big Brother 13.
** For that matter, it seems odd that nobody brings up the fact that Scott spent most of the previous season throwing away challenges so that he could eliminate the teammates he considered a threat when everyone else's villainous acts were mentioned such as Gwen kissing Duncan. Why were the rest of the Vultures not concerned that Scott might do this again given that everyone on the team has competed on Total Drama and made the merge at least once? Granted a stay in the [=McLean=] Hotel and a slot at finding the Invincibility Statue are two good motivators to win challenges, still a confrontation towards Scott about his TeamKiller strategy and threats against any future sabotage would have been nice.
*** To be fair, Scott DID suggest in episode 2 that to get rid of Lightning, they should throw the next challenge. Then someone says "And give up all this?"
*** Because it obviously wouldn't work. While the Villains might consider Scott a redneck, they know he's not stupid enough to try the same trick twice. Besides, in season 4, the strategy was used to get rid of characters who were a big threat. By the very nature of an All-Stars season, ''everyone'' is a big threat.
* The reset button only removes Mike's personalities instead of completely giving him a blank slate, or even having him live life without remembering them? How does that work? More than likely, the only explanation is that the writers wanted a quick and easy way to get his plot resolved, but it still makes no sense.
** It makes perfect sense because they weren't ''removed.'' The only personality that Mike actually destroyed was Mal. The others ''merged'' with him. He's become a singular individual by reconciling and compromising with his other personalities in order to make the best decision for all of them, which involves recognizing that at the end of the day all of the personalities are a part of himself that have taken their own lives. It's actually a fairly common way of recovering from multiple personalities- acknowledging and accepting those other parts as a piece of who they are.
** Because Mike is "the original." The reset button removedblended Mike's "extra" personalities with his "real" one. AKA what it was like before they split off, hence why it was called a ''reset'' button. Granted, none of that is accurate to DID, but that's just going off the information given in the show.
* When Mike changes personalities, he takes a deep breath. He finally overcomes Mal while he's underwater. How did he not drown?
** CartoonPhysics. This show is full of them.
** It's possible Mike's subconscious recognized they were underwater and survival instincts stopped themself from doing the usual deep breath. After all, the same thing seemed to happen with Mal when he was sucked into the mind. His eyes got big, his body tensed, and his mouth opened a bit, all of which happen when Mike switches.
* [[FridgeLogic Exactly how Chris managed to get footage of Mike's inner psyche]] is a RiddleForTheAges.
** Dream sequences and such have been included since season one. ''Total Drama'' is a parody show. Part of the parody is that they have footage of events that would be impossible to have footage of.
** The footage might have been speculative representations of Mike's mind created by the editors after the footage was collected and put together.
** They probably ''didn't'' get a footage of Mike's inner psyche and that those scenes were just for the viewers. It wasn't an InUniverse editor thing.
* If Chris wanted to make the names alleviate, why wasn't it the Villainous Vultures and the Heroic ''Hawks''? Not only does it sound much cooler then Heroic Hamsters or Hippos, it would have had an interesting bird theme.
** Maybe he wanted them to have the same number of syllables?
** Chris was probably going for EvilIsCool when he gave the Vultures a far cooler name.
* In the fifth season's premiere, why is Heather shocked to learn that Alejandro was inside the Drama Machine the whole time? In the past season's premiere, she was angry that the Drama Machine was carrying her, and, coupled with Courtney's jealous look at them, it's more than implied that Heather knew that it was Alejandro inside the robot. If she didn't know that Al was inside the robot, then how she knew that he was still alive when Lindsay mentioned him? She could have assumed that he died when the volcano erupted.
** This is kind of stretching it, but she still might not have known. Heather could have been annoyed because this robot was constantly bugging her.
** Chris could have told everyone Alejandro survived. He just might not have told them ''how'' he survived.
** ''Did'' she know Alejandro was still alive? Her remark never referred to him in the present tense.
* In the ice cream challenge, Chris at first mentions that the ice cream the contestants are to make will be fed to his interns, as Chris has left them starving. What has prevented these two interns from taking food from Chef's kitchen or the [=McLean=] Spa Hotel? By the way, what about the rest of the show's interns? They don't seem to be starving.
** If the interns stole food from either of those places, Chris would have killed them upon finding out.
* Why was Mike arrested for Mal's actions? Couldn't someone testify on his behalf that he suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder?
** He might not have been diagnosed yet. Duncan didn't even seem to know Mike exists, so it appears Mal was in control of the body full time when they were sent to juvie. The judges probably weren't aware of there being other identities.
* In the treasure challenge, Gwen stated that she now distrusts Mike (in reality Mal) because he now seems to enjoy when people get hurt. Has she forgotten how much she enjoyed Heather getting electrocuted by jellyfish and assaulted by beavers, Harold falling onto a pool plank and Chris sinking with his boat thanks to Ezekiel?
** In Heather and Chris’ case, they had both wronged her in the past and were generally jerks to almost everyone, so she would see it as LaserGuidedKarma. Plus Mal seemed to take sadistic pleasure in seeing others’ pain, which is more extreme than in the case of Harold.
* How did Chester know what the reset button was when none of the other alters did?
* In "The Obsta-Kill Course", Mal exclaims "Not again!" upon being told they have to carry the heavy packs, a reference to "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste", where Mike and the rest of the campers had to wear packs the whole challenge... except, that's just the thing. It was ''Mike'' who had to do that, not Mal. Why would Mal exclaim "Not again"? He never had to carry a pack, and it's been established that Mal has trouble keeping track of Mike's memories.
** It is possible that Mal at one point had to carry a heavy pack for [[NoodleIncident some reason]].
* Why did Courtney force Lindsay to push the carriage in "Heroes vs Villains" despite knowing she isn't athletic? If she really wanted to hurry up and choose someone, why not choose someone more athletic like herself or Sierra (giving not choosing Generation 2 a pass since Courtney doesn't know them very well at this point)? And why did the Heroes vote off Lindsay over Courtney even though it was Courtney who forced Lindsay to push the carriage against her will?

[[folder:Total Drama: Pahkitew Island]]
* Why is this season considered Season 5 Part 2? It has nothing in common with ''All-Stars''. If they wanted a 26 episode season, couldn't they have extended ''All-Stars''?
** Because this season was a part of the 26 episode deal that Cartoon Network ordered in late 2012. They even have the same four writers in common (along with two more who only worked on this half). Another reason is that the half length seasons are a direct result of Fresh TV wanting to save money on production.
* Why would a hypochondriac like Dave voluntarily join Total Drama? Heck, how did this sadist show find three generations of willing contestants?
** A million dollars is a lot of money and given how well of Courtney and Dakota are heavily implied to be a million dollars in the Total Dramaverse might be worth considerably more than it is in real life. Dakota is clearly inspired by Paris Hilton, a million dollars shouldn't be enough to get her off her ass. In addition as cruel as the challenges seem the complete lack of fatalities and very few serious injuries despite encounters with bears, mutant sharks, croctopus and the like suggests that our characters are MadeOfIron and inverse this show is probably only about as dangerous as Survivor appears in real life. It's also worth noting that when Chris went to jail it was for pollution and he was let out to restart his show. The contestants don't seem like they're actually in a lot of danger.
*** In Dakota's case she wasn’t competing for the money and just wanted camera time.
** Some people will do anything to be on TV. Simple as that. Alternatively, maybe the later generations of contestants legitimately felt they were capable of taking on what Total Drama had to offer or believed it couldn't possibly be as bad as what they saw on TV.
* Pahkitew Island has no modern conveniences and the new cast was dropped there with nothing. So does this mean the cast hasn't bathed or had a fresh change of clothes in weeks?
** Soap and something to grind your cloths against goes a long way towards getting them clean if you need clean cloths. Some of them haven't changed but they could easily wash their cloths the old fashioned way. Though the truth is it's probably hand-waved. The island doesn't seem to have washing machines in any of the other seasons.
** This is another Survivor nod. The contestants this season, just like in Survivor, are stranded in the middle of nowhere with only the clothes on their backs. They pretty much wash them the old-fashioned way, if they bother to at all.
** It's like Survivor - the characters pretty much took a bath in the rivers nearby. (Like how in Survivor, they wash themselves off in the ocean.) There's a reason why in a few seasons, they offered a shower as a reward to the players and they ''immediately'' took it because the jurors usually go at least 20 days without showering or have any fresh changes of clothing.
* In "This is the Pits," Chris proclaims they didn't have enough footage for an episode since the cast went off camera. Does this mean we're watching these episode at a third person perspective instead of the perspective of a person watching the show?
** No. There are cameras all over the island just like in every season. However since the majority of the contestants skipped over the majority of challenges Chris didn't have anything he could piece together a legit show. So what we got for "This is the Pits," is basically an uncut behind the scenes look that normally would have been edited differently. Though it's often hard to tell just like in "Scarlett Fever" where apparently there was time to cut away to Max's reaction interview at (where is/was at that time) the outhouse despite the island being near destruction.
* Shawn's zombie survival tactics on the whole are fairly logical based on modern zombie lore in particular ''Series/TheWalkingDead''. In ''Scarlett Fever'' the contestants are attacked by a horde of identical looking robots that are compared to zombies which sends Shawn into a invincible rage. During which he engages the robots in hand to hand combat including several headbutts. It all works out just fine for him but had they been zombies hand to hand including headbutts is all but guaranteed to if not get you scratched, bit or even get zombie juice in your mouth. One would expect his combat tactics to be more keep away and stall and less engage hand to hand.
* Why does Ella's singing work? As far as we know there are very few if any actual animals on the island. Scuba Bear in particular in 100% confirmed as a robot and should have been immune. Out of verse the most likely answers are that they didn't want to reveal anything too soon or possibly the writers hadn't even figured that detail out yet when they were writing those scenes or brainstorming up the characters but inverse it raises questions.
** She's a {{Technopath}}?
*** It's possible Ella's singing hits the frequencies on which orders are broadcast to the robots.
* Why didn't Sky just use gymnastics as her talent in Sugar's talent show?
** Because that would've been less interesting?
** It’s irony since Sugar loses and is eliminated while Sky and Shawn succeed by having their talents in the talent show being what Sugar normally does 24/7 which is gross bodily stuff.
* Why did Scarlett fall for Sky's plan (using a broken promo-bot to get her to open the door)? She just seemed smarter than that.
** Scarlett's plot was just far too complex for a 13 episode season. Suddenly turning her into an AntiClimaxBoss was pretty much the easiest/laziest way they could've wrapped it up in such a short amount of time without having to possibly resort to turning the episode into a two-parter.
** Her glasses could have been real and she only took them off to look more evil. She might really have not been able to tell.
* In the finale, Shawn lands on Jasmine out of the 12 characters he could have hit, and Sky lands on Dave twice out of the other 11. The odds of this happening are 1 in 1,452, or .07%. In an All Stars episode, Cameron deduced that the game was rigged after only 2 spins of a wheel with 8 slices. The odds of that are 1 in 64, or 1.56%. The odds are too astronomical for this to be random!
** Knowing Chris, the wheel was almost certainly rigged.
* If Jasmine considers Sammy her friend, why does she call her "Samey?"
** In the very first episode, when Sammy tries to correct Chris, he says "You're officially Samey."
*** First of all, Chris is petty. He probably didn't want anyone to call Sammy by anything else, in order to a: Make Sammy miserable, and b: Not confuse the in-universe viewers. Maybe he heard Jasmine calling her "Sammy" and later on told her off-camera that she would be disqualified if she didn't use the name the show used.
*** Second, we don't know how much was edited in-universe. Maybe Jasmine called Sammy "Samey" once early on (let's remember they weren't friends until after Episode 1), then started calling her Sammy later on, and in order to avoid confusion, the producers used the sound clip of Jasmine saying that whenever she actually said "Sammy".
** It might just be force of habit.
* Why is Chris so against singing all of a sudden? His anger towards Ella and her singing goes beyond singing not being required, and he never showed any signs of not liking singing back in season three.
** Given how sadistic he is, it's possible he doesn't like Ella's singing (in contrast to mandatory/challenge-fitting singing that the contestants were forced to do much to their chagrin) because it means she's having too much fun.
* When Chris leaves the contestants at Pahkitew Island to turn off the island's self-destruction sequence and refuses to evacuate them in his helicopter, why don't any of the contestants try to swim as far as they can from the island if they don't want to risk their lives just for the sake of ratings? The island is scheduled to detonate in one hour, enough time for them to escape.
** Maybe they didn’t know if they had any means of water transportation/didn’t have time to throw together a boat. If they just swim then they’re stuck in the water with no where to go.
* If Shawn didn't have an audition, how was he able to join the show?
** Maybe he sent a written note or something instead.
** Every contestant had an audition tapes. They may have had some but they were never shown on the show (except for the ROTI and Sky’s). The original 21 (yes, Izzy had 2) were shown after the episode ended when a constant got eliminated. It’s unknown why they didn’t show Gwen or Owen’s. If I do recall, Gwen was forced to audition for her brother.
** Actually, WordOfGod is that Shawn didn't make an audition at all. That's why this headscratcher wonders how he got into the show in the first place.
** Then maybe his parents were good friends with Chris and they wanted to compete in his show but were too old. They probably had their son train for them and they wrote a letter to Chris saying that their son Shawn is going to compete on our show. And could Chris say “No.” to that? He has broke a lot of rules like the singing in the past.
** What WordOfGod meant by Shawn not having an audition tape was that the real life creators didn't animate one for him to be released as a bonus clip (just as they didn't animate ones for Owen and Gwen, while Cameron and Lightning's were just recycled from confessionals), as even Sky had a brief moment of hers. Presumably, he still made one and got accepted through the regular process InUniverse.
* What language are the team names in?
** Cree. It's...even [[CaptainObviousReveal been stated on the show]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Total Drama Island (2023) Part 1]]
* Why is Wawanakwa somehow brought back to life [[UnexplainedRecovery without an explanation]]?
** It has been 15 years since ''Pahkitew Island'' aired in-universe. Maybe it had been found throughout the years and fully recovered.
*** Actually it's been 15 years since the original 2007 ''Island''. ''Pahkitew Island'' actually takes place in 2009 (making it 13 years since that season).
*** Actually actually, ''Pahkitew Island'' and ''Ridonculous Race'' take place in the same year since Leonard remains 16. The spin-off takes place 3 years after original ''Island'' since Geoff, Noah, and Owen are confirmed to be 19. That means 12 years since ''Pahkitew Island''.
** AWizardDidIt. Or maybe Chris got some device that could bring Camp Wawanakwa back from the depths to the surface.
** Out-of-universe, the writers likely decided to bring Wawanakwa back to attract older viewers through nostalgia. For an in-universe reason, WordOfGod states that it isn't Pahkitew Island programmed to look like Wawanakwa (a popular fan theory) but instead a lookalike island, hence it isn't referred to as Wawanakwa in the season itself.
* As a follow up to the headscratcher above, if it has been 15 years, shouldn’t [[OlderThanTheyLook Chris look WAY older]] and what about all the other 52 campers? Do they look way older?
** Maybe Chris is one of those celebrities who hardly age like Creator/PaulRudd?
** In ''Pahkitew Island'', Chris said he was 30, so he should be in his early 40s at this point, which is not that old. The contestants from the first three generations would be in their early 30s or late 20s.
* Another follow up to the previous two headscratchters: it was nice to see TheCameo of the Rockers of ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaPresentsTheRidonculousRace'' in one of Nichelle's action movies. However, how is it possible that Rock and Spud haven't aged at all in the 12-year interim between ''The Ridonculous Race'' and 2023 ''Island''?
** Perhaps they were OlderThanTheyLook in their cameo.
** Well, animators don’t bother with age-ing up cartoon characters. It maybe something called narrative dissonance. Take Pokémon for example. Some characters despite being in games set in many years apart from each other from their debut look the same.
* If Priya's parents were big ''Total Drama'' fans who wanted the prize money, why didn't they audition to join the show instead of training their daughter since infancy to do it?
** They would have been too old.
*** Not too old fifteen years ago.
*** Not likely. Considering that all of the contestants are around 16 and that Priya has been trained since birth (literally) to compete on ''Total Drama'', she most likely was born sometime after the original 2007 ''Island'' finished, making it unlikely for her parents to be teenagers at that age.
*** Maybe Priya was the result of a TeenPregnancy?
*** Let’s do the math: 2022-16 and that gives us 2006, which is a year before ''Island'' aired.
*** And maybe Priya was conceived before her parents saw the show and they gave birth to her after ''Island'' ended in the last months of pregnancy.
* The audition tapes of this cast seem to be aired with the season premiere instead of being released as separate videos not attached to any episodes. Out-of-universe, this was because Creator/CartoonNetwork didn't order Creator/FreshTV to make bonus content, but in-universe, the auditions are likely meant to have been only seen by the show's producers. By airing this cast's auditions on live television, couldn't there be legal consequences for some people? Among the auditions aired, Priya shows footage of her parents being abusive by forcing her to do dangerous stunts since childhood and MK shows how she stole a wallet from a couple. In MK's case, the couple can now be aware she was the one who stole their wallet.
** As mentioned above, Priya’s parents were fans of the show and they were probably too old to audition at the time. MK probably confessed to the couple or at least apologized to them after the season ended.
* What happened to the ''Revenge of the Island'' interns? The tall one seems to now be a cameraman, but what about the chubby and the female interns?
** Given the TimeSkip, they probably got different jobs.
* Any specific reasons for why Chris decided to make a finale of three finalists instead of two as usual?
** Probably just a consequence of having 16 contestants in a 13 episode season.
*** Makes sense, but he didn't do that in ''Revenge of the Island'', ''All-Stars'' or ''Pahkitew Island'', so why now?
*** ''Revenge of the Island'' had only 13 contestants, while ''All-Stars'' and ''Pahkitew Island'' had 14, so they had room for all but two contestants to be eliminated before the finale.
*** Also, ''World Tour'' has 3 finalists but that was only due to a tie in 2nd place.
* How does Bowie manage to access to Julia's phone, the one MK stole previously, so he can break the friendship of Priya and Millie? First of all, the phone should have "died" the moment Bowie threw it into the lake, and even if Bowie saved it by maybe putting it into a bag of rice, its battery should have run out since then as severals days passed between MK's elimination and the Final Six challenge unless Bowie stole some phone charger from Julia, which he didn't. Plus, Julia doesn't seem to be the type of PhoneaholicTeenager who would leave her phone unprotected without a password, so Bowie shouldn't have been able to get in, low battery or not.
** Maybe he hacked it somehow?
* During Julia's audition, she is seen in the same confessional used in ''Action''. Why would she be there? Wasn't that film studio lot abandoned as Chris pointed out?
** Maybe it was just one that looked similar?
* Why was Bowie introduced before Chase in the first episode if he wasn't on the Ferocious Trout?
* How did Chris manage to get actual, live dinosaurs for the show? They clearly aren't robots or animantronics, so that option is out.
* So when Bowie was being accused by Emma for voting off Chase why didn’t he just ask her what would he have to gain from booting off Chase since the two of them getting back together would turn their 2 person alliance into a 3 person alliance which would be the majority of the votes?
** That wouldn't do much other than make Bowie appear as a liar to Emma. It was the final 6 and if both alliances stick to their plan from the prior episode, there should've been a tie-breaker with 3 votes each (or as revealed in episode 12, a person with more immunity wins would stay). Since there was no announcement of a tie, it's clear that 4 contestants voted for Chase. Emma would've easily figured that she didn't, Chase likely didn't vote for himself either, leaving Bowie as the only option.
* Why is it that Priya never considered trying to get rid of Scary Girl in "Numbskull Island"? Sure Ripper used her as a HumanShield during the challenge, but at least he is easier to control and reason with and is much less dangerous. Scary Girl in comparison outright spent the entire challenge scaring Damien on a jackhammer that could have killed him and she wasn't exactly very friendly with Priya during her initial attempts at an alliance, making gestures that imply she is going to kill her, in addition to being hard to control or reason with. Even if Priya's a moral and ethical person, surely she'd know keeping Scary Girl (who isn't above harming other people like Ripper and more extreme about it than he is) around is far more dangerous and harmful than keeping Ripper since at least Ripper isn't going around nearly getting his teammates killed and is more mentally stable compared to Scary Girl. Quite a bit of SelectiveEnforcement to go after Ripper for using her as a HumanShield, but not Scary Girl for trying to hurt Damien by chasing him with a jackhammer.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Total Drama Island (2023) Part 2]]
* Why does everyone (except Raj and Wayne) dislike Bowie more than Julia? Considering she was shown to be more ruthless than him the previous season, it is jarring how Bowie gets more dislike than her. At worst he caused Priya and Millie's falling out last season, but even then he wasn't totally wrong about bringing up Millie's own insensitive behavior with Priya to light so what gives?
** I think it boils down to Bowie committing the worse deed. Yes, Julia was a jerk to everyone, but she didn't try to ruin anyone's relationship. Bowie knowingly and willingly sabotaged Millie's friendship with Priya's friendship all to get a leg up.
*** Then how come no one outside Priya and Millie batted an eye about it in "Magma Cum Laude" when said incident was still fresh in everyone's minds. The others clearly witnesses Bowie's actions yet they showed no objection until the next season. Granted Julia is excused due to likely just being bitter about him getting her eliminated rather than giving a crap about what he did with Millie and Priya's friendship, but what's everyone else's excuse?
** Aside from aforementioned answer, it seems it might have also been a case of who's worse: someone who's very open about their evil nature, or an affable person whose darker nature is well-hidden? You'd feel more personally betrayed by the latter. You can argue that Julia also initially hid behind a NiceGirl persona, but her mask came off in the same season she began being HatedByAll and they had more time to get used to Julia being openly evil.
** Caleb does have a personal reason to be mad at Bowie, as Bowie got him booted off first.
*** Caleb wasn't among the people giving Bowie a DeathGlare when he tried to apologize, indicating at least he already forgave Bowie for that and doesn't hold a grudge about it anymore.
* How come no one ever targets threats like Priya and Julia, especially considering the former’s victory last season and the latter’s antagonism? Realistically, they should’ve been out way sooner.
** In Julia's case, the two times where Team Skunk Butt went to elimination came from Scary Girl proving to be too scary for the team to be around (especially after she confessed to stalking them in their homes between seasons) and Chase doing nothing to help his team, with Julia at least being less creepy and being more willing to contribute in challenges. In the merge, MK had initially proven herself to be a bigger threat due to Chris outing her to everyone for cheating which likely caused her to gain more ire than Julia and by extension anyone who would have come up with the idea to cheat, which Julia frames on Bowie, whose reputation had already taken a hit due to his actions last season. "Fun Fight at the O'Cake Corral", " Circling the Drain", and "Working K9 to 5" were cases where Julia won immunity so she wasn't up for elimination in those three episodes. "Haulin and Baulin" had Caleb and Zee becoming bigger targets thanks to everyone thinking Caleb took advantage Priya to get further in the game (with Julia herself not knowing about this until the big reveals) and Zee gaining everyone's ill-will when spilling everyone's embarrassing secrets on TV, with Julia likely not being on anyone's voting radar because of this. "Breaking Up is Hard To Do" showed everyone voted off MK over Julia because they found out Julia and MK had made a pact to not to sabotage each other and MK's attempt to sabotage Julia's reputation making her come off as worse compared to Julia. And "Off the Hook!" had Wayne, Priya, and Caleb try to vote off Julia with Julia using the immunity idol to nullify all votes against her and get Priya eliminated instead.
** In Priya's case, "You Poor Saps" had Millie become a bigger target due to the team being mad at her for throwing Damien down the Death Boot slide. And in a lot of other instances, Caleb and Damien were good friends with her so they obviously wouldn't vote out their friend and Zee, Raj, and Wayne aren't the most strategically inclined people out there. In addition, "Haulin and Baulin" and "Breaking Up is Hard To Do" have the added caveat of Damien, Raj, and Wayne sympathizing with Priya and likely not wanting to vote her out when she's still feeling upset over Caleb seemingly taking advantage of her. Additionally, Priya does end up in the bottom 2 in "Circling the Drain" (presumably with Damien attempting to vote her out for being a threat) and only avoids elimination due to Julia stealing Damien's idol. And Julia does attempt to get Raj and Wayne to help her vote off Priya in "Working K9 to 5", only failing due to Raj and Wayne making their voting decision based on a coin flip that landed on Caleb and caused Julia to change her plans by getting Priya and Caleb to vote off Raj instead.
* If Emma dumped Chase between seasons and realized what a jerk he is, why does she still dislike Bowie (since the reason their friendship fell apart was because of Bowie's conflict with Chase) even after realizing he was right about Chase? Sure he voted her off, but her elimination was already set in stone when Julia exaggerated her animal cruelty to Priya and Millie so Julia is more at fault than Bowie for that.
** Has it been shown she still dislikes him? They didn't really speak in the first episode.
*** Emma is shown glaring at Bowie when he tries to apologize to everyone for his actions last season so it is implied they haven't reconciled their former friendship yet.
** She's just that petty.
* Why has Scary Girl changed her clothes?
** Presumably to look more normal and fit in.
** Not just presumably, but exactly because of that. Her PerkyGoth GothicLolita attire only added fuel to her being TheDreaded among others.
* Why does Bowie choose Chase to be on his team? Considering how much he dislikes Chase for being a {{Jerkass}} boyfriend to Emma (to the point where it was even the reason for his falling out with Emma the previous season), what reason does he have to include Chase on his team. Granted Priya already beat him to recruiting Emma (who could have reconciled with Bowie if given a chance to be on his team again, due to finding out he was right about Chase being a terrible boyfriend, and potentially allow him to control half the team between her, Raj, and Wayne) still.
** Most likely another example of KeepingTheEnemyClose. Same as for Julia, he intended to vote him out with Raj and Wayne's help.
* Given that the first reboot season took place 15 years after the original ''Island'' and Chef already looked at least middle aged then, how old is he that his grandmother is not only still alive, but still able bodied?
** It is possible Chef simply went prematurely bald and was in his 30s when ''Island (2007)'' happened. Assuming his parents were in their mid-late 20s when giving birth to him, it would place his parents as in their late 50s/early 60s when ''Island (2007)'' happened. In turn, if his grandmother was in her mid-late 20s when one of his parents was born, it would place her as in her late 70s/early 80s in ''Island (2007)'' and is around 90 years old in ''Island (2023)'' and it isn't too uncommon for a 90 year old to be physically active if healthy enough and a former baseball star would no doubt be leading a healthy lifestyle.
* How come Damien wasn't medically evacuated when he got injured from Millie pushing him down the "Death Slide"? Considering Raj and Wayne faced similar injuries the previous season that led to their disqualification, why is Damien not eliminated for the same reason despite being in the same state as them when they were injured?
** Rule of X Character still has plot left. Raj and Wayne didn't when they were eliminated last season, but Damien clearly still has something lined up. Also this shown as always been inconsistent about contestant's injuries and what gets one medically evacuated.
* Why did Chris allow Nichelle to quit in "Ice To Beat You"? Considering the previous season showed there is a million dollar fine for quitting and Damien couldn't quit without owing the show a million dollars, why is Nichelle all of a sudden allowed to quit this season without the million dollar fine threat?
** It's probably because he expects Nichelle to pay later on, as there's a chance she still has that sum of money from her past career as a movie actress.
* Where did Julia get the paper to make a fake contract for Nichelle despite not having any paper for MK to draw the map at the beginning of episode 5?
** Maybe she had MK steal some from the production trailer?
* Why does no one like say Bowie or Julia try to force Chase to go in the slide by just throwing him in them by force? Given Bowie has no problem dragging Julia to go in the slide when they fall behind, why does no one think to just physically drag Chase into the slides?
** Well, at least in Julia's case, she may have wanted to Chase to be a more obvious boot on the chance the team lost. As for Bowie, he may have not thought of it or just didn't think of it.
* Since the first reboot season happened 15 years after Island 2007 and this season being a year after said reboot season means it happens 16 years after Island 2007, why does Owen (who was 16 when he first appeared) look the same as a 32 year old as he did as a teenager?
** Real life reason? Saving money on production by not updating already existing character designs. InUniverse? No explanation/genetics that make Owen look young longer.
** Perhaps he aged gracefully?
** [[NotAllowedToGrowUp Cartoon logic.]] Let's just assume that the show used the same logic like WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons and didn't bother to age their characters.
* Why does Chris allow Ripper to quit in "Fun Fight at the O'Cake Corral"? Given the million dollar fine from the previous season that prevented Damien from quitting, why is Ripper allowed to quit without the million dollar fine threat?
** He only seemed to count it as quitting after Ripper dragged the drone down, so he probably just went with it without thinking it through. Plus, since they needed at least one double elimination given the episode count, he may have decided that this was as good a time as any.
* How come Axel never questions Ripper for his role in helping Julia and MK cheat in "Ice To Beat You" after finding out about the Skunk Butts cheating in "Canoe Believe It"? Considering she was shown to be angry at MK when finding out about the cheating and voted off Bowie for his involvement, how come she never has a grudge or even questions Ripper about his enablement of said cheating?
** I guess she just never found out that Ripper was involved with his team's cheating schemes.
* In "Taking it to the Rim Reaper", Skunk Butts were shown to have had 7 points right before Ripper's initial failed attempt to go in the two point slide. However after his failed attempt, they are mysteriously shown to have 8 points. How did they gain one extra point?
** Either someone from their team scored on the 1 point slide off-screen between the 2 scenes you've described or it was an animation error.
* Considering how Priya's parents were training her through various Total Drama challenges, how come they never tried to make her face her fear of thunder and lightning? You'd think having Priya face her fears would be a priority for them when training, considering they are aware of Total Drama having at least two fear related challenges.
** Perhaps any such training wasn't effective in getting her to overcome her fears.
* How come Emma acts so cold and rude to Nichelle all of a sudden? Sure Nichelle is the reason the Frogs of Death lost in Drown Town Abbey and was voted out for that, but Emma still made the effort back then to be as supportive of Nichelle as possible, being the most active in trying to encourage and boost Nichelle's confidence when she has a mental breakdown over her lack of physical skill with the possibility she was one of the only two (other one being Bowie) who didn't vote of Nichelle. So why the change in attitude and sudden lack of support that she used to have back in season 1 all of a sudden?
** She had just had a talk with Chase, which definitely left her in a pretty bad mood. This, coupled with her not having any reason to believe Nichelle had gotten any better in the year since last season, would likely lead her to dismiss Nichelle given her early elimination last time.
* How come Priya refers to Courtney and Duncan as the "season 1 power couple"? They didn't become official until "Basic Straining" which was the same episode where Courtney was eliminated (being her worst performing season) and Duncan never made the finals that season. Even if we assume she included Action due to Courtney having her strongest performance and Duncan making the finals, that was also the season that began their relationship troubles and had their first breakup so that doesn't exactly scream "power couple". So how did Priya come to that conclusion?
** If the InUniverse fanbase for the show is anything like the real life one, people most likely ignored that to keep praising their dynamic and Priya, who has been shown to be sheltered and not know a lot about how the real world works, likely bought into the hype. Or she just heard her parents call them that and doesn't know any better.
* Why is MK mad at Bowie, but not Julia? Considering Bowie had nothing to do with her elimination in the previous season while Julia was the cause of it, why is she angrier at Bowie at the start of the season over Julia? It's not as though she would remotely give a crap about sabotaging Priya and Millie's friendship either considering MK herself was already planning to take advantage of Millie's judgmental book about Priya after she watched the confessionals (which gave Bowie the means to do so once he found her phone) and shows no problems stooping lower later in the season by dropping a log to crush Priya, Caleb, and Emma, regularly cheating in team challenges, and not showing a lot of sympathy for Priya when she is heartbroken over Caleb seemingly taking advantage of her (instead complaining at how no one showed her any sympathy for when she was beaten up by a bear). Aside from making a few comments about MK not being a team player and voting her off thanks to Julia's manipulation, Bowie never really did anything to impact MK negatively nearly as much as Julia did. So why would she suddenly hold no grudge against Julia (the one that got her eliminated last season) but instead directs her grudge against Bowie (who did nothing too bad to her aside from making a couple of comments on seemingly being unhelpful in challenges)?
* Why doesn't Julia simply just join Raj and Wayne in voting off Caleb in "Finding K9 to 5"? Either way, Priya and Caleb would be separated as a power couple. Sure she had an alliance with Caleb, but Priya being around means he probably won't be as inclined to side with her compared to Raj and Wayne who are gullible enough for her to manipulate. Even with Priya being a threat, she could just wait to eliminate her in the next episode either by making an alliance with Raj and Wayne (due to their gullibility) or using the idol in case Raj and Wayne voted her out if she didn't get immunity.
