'''NOTE:''' Spoilers ahead.

* If the giant chunk missing out of Ooo was caused by the Mushroom War, why didn't the Lich Bomb cause similar destruction when it went off in "[[Recap/AdventureTimeS5E2JakeTheDog Jake the Dog]]"?
** Presumably it was still mostly encased in ice, the same ice that allowed Finn to survive while being VERY close to the blast. And it was underground as well, So the blast wasn't nearly as powerful as it was the first time.
*** Who said the Lich Bomb was the bomb that blew half the world away? For all we know the Lich Bomb was a final weapon of vengeance launched by whatever country occupied the land that the world destroying mega-bomb annihilated.
** It's implied that the world being incased in ice caused the Earth's gravity to change and thus miss the comet which caused the hole in the Earth. As there's a comet that flies past the frozen Earth in the flashback in Finn the Human.
* How did Ice Queen's Prince Gumball disguise work? Since she emerged from "his" chest face-first, it's kinda confusing...
** Magic.
*** (OP) Or maybe whatever the Ice King decided to throw in, without giving much thought into it?
*** Or maybe because the Ice King was just so focused on creating a very very great plot only to mess it up with a hilarious plot twist at the end?
* So WordOfGod confirmed that Finn is 14 now. Doesn't that mean that everyone else should have aged 2 years as well and PB is 20 now?
** Actually, PB should be 19, since [[spoiler:she was aged back to 13 in "Mortal Recoil" and then forward to 18 in "Too Young"]]. As for everybody else, who says they haven't?
** Actually actually, PB is probably still 18 and has been 18...[[http://www.formspring.me/skronked/q/269116405041864169 for some time]] [[spoiler:before and after the age up]]. This was alluded to in "Princess Cookie", when Baby Snaps flash-backed to a time when he was a kid, when PB appeared in the flashback, she appears the same as she is now. Peppermint Butler also didn't change during that time, but probably because of a [[AmbiguouslyEvil different reason]].
** "Earth and Water" shows Princess Bubblegum looking exactly the same as she does now in a flashback to 15 years ago. SO she definitely doesn't age normally.
** According to Finn's alleged birthday (3-14) he should be 15 now.
** According to [[WordOfGod Word Of God]] Princss Bubblegum is 827 as of her debut. Her physical age changes with her candy biomass.
* Jake wears the Ice King's Crown in 'Thank You' without any adverse effects. Why?
** The Ice King's crown doesn't affect people who already have magical powers. Jake is a magic dog.
*** Or alternatively, the Ice King's crown doesn't corrupt Jake because it didn't '''want''' to. As shown in 'Finn the Human,' the crown probably cares deeply for it's current wearer, and only mellowed out enough to be wearable after 400 years, after it's past wearer died.
*** The crown takes time to work. In Simon's video diaries, the corruption is slow and gradual. Jake wasn't wearing it long enough for it to work.
** It's possible that there can be only one "main user" of the crown aka the one who hears the whispers, sees the spirits, slowly gets corrupted, etc. Once that user dies, another takes their place. Until then, anyone else who puts on the crown can't be corrupted.
*** This is supported by "Broke His Crown", where the multiple people who've put on the crown across the series don't appear ''inside'' the crown with the rest of its historical wearers (and Simon). But others can still use its magic, as shown in "Thanks For The Crabapples, Giuseppe" when Abracadaniel and Ice King traded headgear.

* In "Up a Tree," near the end, how was the disc flying so well without spinning Finn and the "Yes-and-no" squirrel into pukification?
** [[RuleOfCool It was the perfect throw, dude.]]

* How did the Mushroom War prevent Marceline from actually looking a thousand years old?
** Presumably, it didn't, and she just never got bitten and turned vampiric.
** She's also half-demon.

* Why does Finn look different in the AU? Does that mean he's not truly human?
** No Mushroom war, no mutagens; no mutagens, Finn looks more like a real human.
*** But if that's true then, why does, Human, Simon Petrikov, look more like the post mushroom war Finn instead of alternate universe Finn?
*** Or alternatively, people in Alt!Finn's village just have really big noses as a common genetic trait, so they are drawn with them while other human characters are not.
*** FridgeBrilliance: Large noses are one way to deal with cold temperatures. The Farmverse was in an ice age for centuries...
** In the normal 'verse, Finn was fostered with Jake's parents from baby-hood. Jake's parents were very well-to-do, having the lifestyle of an upper-middle-class family and advanced technology (presumably brought on by their dad being a ridiculously badass demon hunter). Finn Mertens grew up poor with harsh resources, so his diet was worse, he got into more scrapes, and lost an arm. These things will add up to a different appearance. ''Our'' Finn is rich and lives near a prosperous commercial area, so he's got everything he needs even if he's an orphan that the universe likes to sucker-punch every once and a while.
*** Though he was missing an arm for unspecified reasons, AU Finn was living a simple pastoral life as a farmboy, rather than going off onto epic adventures, so it's dubious that he "got into more scrapes" overall. Despite similar overall "heroic" character, his upbringing appeared to have given him fewer opportunities to TakeALevelInBadass, to the point that he was unskilled enough to be handily defeated in a swordfight with Big Destiny. In any case, presence of a nose and different-shaped eyes probably don't have anything to do with upbringing. Chalk it up to the Butterfly Effect.

* For shouting mathematical exclamations a lot of the time, Finn is NOT good at math!
** He probably thinks they sound cool.
*** And they '''ARE'''!
** Not being good at math probably makes it all the more epic in his mind. After all, that would make mathematics the study of arcane mysteries.
** It's actually just a joke from all those late 80s, early 90s phrases like RADICAL, since Radical is a math term. They're just taking it to its logic conclusion.
*** Or to its limit.
** Many other characters use "Math" as an interjection, including Princess Bubblegum. Often as a cuss word. Finn may simply picked the habit up from others.
** I'm fairly sure that it was mentioned that Finn simply uses smart words to try and impress Princess Bubblegum.

* The show looks like they should learn lessons in the end, but they completely miss the point. Jake lost his powers to a witch because he had too much pride, and even though the witch tried to teach him a lesson, he still took her crane and made her fall down! In another, Finn could've just talked things out with the Ice King, but he would rather punch him out, thinking it would solve all the problems in the world! So many {{Broken Aesop}}s...
** Finn is a child and Jake is voiced by a [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} sleazy, chain smoking, gambling robot]]... at what point would you ever think that they would take any sort of responsibility for their actions or learn anything from past experiences?
** And all PlayedForLaughs, which is quite likely the point.
** The point is that the show is ''not'' about Aesops, it's about a kid and his dog having adventures, and every single Aesop that the show dishes out are eitherly ''intentionally'' broken, [[SpoofAesop spoofed]], or just not done, the fact the Aesops are more or less brought up, but being spoofed or broken, is the point. Although, if you want what was possibly a deliberate Aesop, try Ocean Of Fear.
** The show ''does'' have aesops sometimes, just not ones that we'd normally expect to see. For example, one episode (I can't remember the name) had Jake thinking he would hurt everyone because he remembered accidentally beating up his brother and his father saying "You'll hurt everyone...". It turns out that Jake wasn't listening fully and his father had actually said "You'll hurt everyone who is ''evil''." (The lesson being that sometimes, yes, violence ''is'' the answer.).
*** Actually that one is "Pay attention to what people are saying".
*** Also, don't eat the crystal apple.
*** Does this mean that Jake's brother is evil?
** 1, Rule of Funny. 2, the characters are just like that.
* "Memories of Boom-Boom Mountain" has memories of boom-boom, and a mountain, but no memories of boom-boom at a mountain. So why is it called Memories of Boom-Boom Mountain?
** Mmmm... [[WordSaladTitle word salad.]]
** Well, did it ever say that the boom-boom didn't happen at a mountain?
*** It was clearly a forest near a field.
*** It could have been a forest near a field ''on'' a mountain.
** Maybe the title means "The mountain that sparked memories of boom-boom?"
** Because ''[[OverlyLongName Finn tries to help a bunch of people at the same time including a giant mountain which brings about his memories of when he crapped himself as a baby]]'' is way too long of a title.
*** It isn't that the title's too short, it's that the title's misleading.
*** Misleading titles are acceptable. They don't always have to be on the nose.
** Not necessarily, Finn helped a Mountain in the name of Boom-Boom, and it was by this Mountain we are reminded of Finn's oath and see the fulfillment of that oath, henceforth, to us, we shall remember it as Boom-Boom Mountain as the episode lives on in our Memories.
** As I see it, "Memories of Boom-Boom Mountain" is synonymous to "Memories of a Mountain of Boom-Boom".

* Whether or not Finn and Jake lost their powers at the end of "Wizard". Was it their robes that powered their magic, or did they actually gain the powers themselves and can still use them?
** WordOfGod says that the robes are what powered their magic, and they were destroyed.
** Finn has the robe again in "Mortal Folly" when he goes to challenge the Lich, according to an animatic, he still has his powers too. Though he may have just gone back and got new powers in preparation to battle the Lich.
*** {{Jossed}}; it was a sweater PB made for him, because she, as Finn himself puts it, [[PowerOfLove likes him a lot.]]

* The ending of "Dungeon" bugged me because it made it look like Princess Bubblegum was mad at the guys for no reason. It doesn't make a lick of sense in a bad way and the episode was really good up until that point.
** At the beginning of the episode, she asked Finn and Jake to help put "Do Not Enter" signs around the entrance to the dungeon. She was mad because they went in anyway. Also, they removed the Crystal Eye, which seems to keep eye demons trapped.
** Failure to follow directions. Invoking an ancient evil. Causing her to have to come in there an save them. If all of that doesn't make for a good reason to be upset with someone, you need your head examined.

* Whatever happened to N.E.P.T.R.?
** He and BMO hang out when BMO isn't being used in the episode.
*** Neptr reappears in "Hot to the Touch" in Season 4. The explanation? He was playing hide and seek and hid in the garage for 15 months, 4 days, and 9 hours.

* When has Lady Rainicorn spoken French? I can't vouch for the others but I do not remember hearing any French from her.
** In the pilot, she spoke a mumbling Simlish, but was upgraded to Korean in the actual show.

* What does the title card for "The Enchiridion" have to do with the episode?
** The title card was originally based on an old pulp sci-fi book, and showed Finn unhappily stabbing Jake with a knife. The show knew the image was probably too violent to get past the censors, so they created a censor-decoy version which showed Finn disemboweling Jake with blood and gore flying everywhere. But the censors not only vetoed the decoy, but also the original image. In fact, they even vetoed the initial substitute image, in which only the knife was replaced by a baguette. That’s why the episode aired with the nonsensical, brightly-colored, and detail-less version of Finn laughingly stabbing Jake with a baguette.
*** [[http://www.flickr.com/photos/84568447@N00/4534952905/in/photostream/lightbox/ Here is the original intended art.]] [[http://www.flickr.com/photos/84568447@N00/4534952497/in/photostream/lightbox/ And this is the first attempt to lighten it up.]] [[http://www.flickr.com/photos/84568447@N00/4535585912/in/photostream/lightbox/ This is the final version which appeared in episode.]] [[http://www.flickr.com/photos/84568447@N00/4535584270/in/photostream/lightbox/ This is the Censor Decoy version.]]

* What was the deal with Bubblegum's weird speaking at the end of "What Have You Done?". She talks then falls asleep. I hate when the show does that stuff.
** "Weird speaking"? Is that how the kids refer to German now?
** She was speaking German because at the beginning she was dressed as a plague doctor from Germany many centuries ago. Also it was just a random funny nonsensical thing. The show is the embodiment of random funny nonsensical things, so if you hate when the show does that stuff then... iunno what to tell ya.
*** She also makes utterances in German in other episodes.
** She says "I'm so happy, I could...I could..." which explains why she faints onto the bed. At the start of the episode she also says "I'm here, Finn" in response to Finn and Jake wondering if there was anybody in the Candy Kingdom. The show's just choc full of Bilingual Bonuses!
*** But why German?
*** The correct question is: why not?
*** Probably for the same reason that the Rainicorns are Korean, and why Jake knows Korean. Because some people know more than one language, or have a different native tongue.
*** Because Peebles learned German when her voice actress did.

* Why did Jake turn into a monster in "Gut Grinder"?
** Roughly the same reason Spiderman turned into the Man-Spider in the '90s Spiderman animated series: the changes wrought to his body that gave him superpowers were going intermittently out of control.
** There are so many other, more confusing questions about this episode, so I'll do my best here: Petting makes him go all bonkers, and he was convinced he was the gut-grinder, and because he was both of those things he assumed that he wanted gold, so he went after it when he saw it (it also might have involved some sort of identity-displacement when he saw the ACTUAL gut-grinder)
** [[spoiler:Hes not the gut grinder]]
** Alternatively, because he didn't have a headache.
** It's a psychosomatic thing. Jake is a shape-shifter, and believed he was a monster. So, he shape-shifted into a monster.
** Also, if Finn is a good guy, why does he laugh when Jake makes the soft people go wee-wee?
*** Finn's thirteen. Of course he would laugh at that.

* In "The Eyes", the Ice King didn't think anything of Finn being alive, when Finn was apparently dead the last time he saw him.
** There is a flashback ''in'' the episode which ''shows'' that the Ice King had seen them since then.
** Do you believe in SnapBack?
** Ice King is a combination of absent minded, ill informed, ignorant, and all around missing the point in general. I see no reason why he'd find the apparent resurrection of Finn strange, especially if he doesn't fully comprehend death to begin with.
*** Yeah, Ice King isn't the brightest bulb in the knife drawer... He probably just forgot about the previous incident.
*** [[ComicallyMissingThePoint Why would you put a light bulb in a knife drawer?]]

* Look at [[http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100531015157/adventuretimewithfinnandjake/images/3/30/City.jpg this]] picture of city of thieves, what is that up there? The city is inside the shell!
** Maybe some rich dude or chick just wanted a giant mansion up there (I know I would). Makes me wonder if the city's rules apply up there...
** [[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail It's only a model.]]
** Perhaps the rest is on the other side of the shell.

* Billy's thought process to want Finn and Jake to do things non-violently doesn’t make sense. Sure, the Ice King comes back because he's a glutton for punishment, but most enemies they defeat stay defeated. What would make him think that non-violence, especially in the chaotic and monster-filled land of Ooo, would do anything? I'm mainly asking for motivation.
** As he tells Finn and Jake, he doesn’t see the point. Sure, he's killed a lot of monsters, but there are always more monsters. Who wouldn't get disillusioned after fighting monsters constantly only to have more show up to take their places?
** Indeed, it's not so much that any individual monster can't be defeated, but rather that there is a never ending stream of evil foes
** The most likely moment where it hit him hardest is when he realized that he cast the [[BigBad Lich King]] down... ''and the general monster-ridden state of Ooo hadn't changed in the slightest''.
** Maybe he lost heart after his dog died? That can put even the strongest of souls into a soul-crushing depression. Combined with the revelation that in the long run, his actions weren't going to ever stop all of the monsters, he just gave up.
*** Alternatively, it was a BatmanGambit to get them to avoid making his own mistake of giving up being a hero.
** This could be true as he nods his head at the end of the episode as if he did teach Finn an important lesson.
** He lost his heart. [[spoiler:literally.]]

* I'm usually cool with whatever wackiness this show throws out, but there's one thing I just can't stop puzzling over. At the end of Chamber of Frozen Blades, just what the HELL did Gunter give birth to? It's... I... HOW DOES A PENGUIN MAKE A SPARKLE KITTEN.
** Gunter is the most evil monster in all of history. He's bound to have special properties. Or at least... It's funnier that way.
** With all the crazy **censored** in this show, you're complaining about that?!
** It was originally going to be a Gunter/Ice King thing, but the censors said no.
*** Because they need an anti-Gunter for the series finale, when not even Marceline's dad, Billy, and the Lich can save them.

* If Lady Rainicorn's parents have translators that don't make them sound like old men, nerdy aliens, or nightmares, then why doesn't Lady have one herself?
** [[RuleOfFunny Because it’s funny]].
** The fact that his translator DIDN’T have a similar setting is why Jake got rid of it in the first place.
*** So there are only three translators in the world? And it's impossible to modify Lady Rainicorn's? And they couldn't borrow her parent's once in a while?
** The translator seemed to be more for Finn's benefit in My Two Favorite people rather than anyone else since everyone else or at least all her friends seem to understand fine, the translators in Her Parents are more for the audience's sake....I've seemed to have lost my point. What I'm trying to say is Rainicorn doesn't NEED one because everyone sans Finn can understand her fine and the two don't seem to even hang out that much in the first place so there's no real reason to need a translator.
*** Actually, only those who can speak Korean can understand her. She could at least use subtitles for the rest of us...
*** But then they couldn't get as much by their censor if they used subtitles. They keep it up in foreign translations even if Lady doesn't necessarily speak in Korean. It's very much a defining character trait...And it's probably one of the less bizarre things in the show.

* How can Princess Bubblegum hear when she doesn't have ears?
** The same way Finn can smell without having a visible nose.
*** In an episode, Jake is smelling something and says "I bet you wish you had one". He probably can't even smell.
** PB is shown with earrings, and it's just the art style.

* When Finn's sword turns 4-D by going through the multi-dimensional-bubble wand, why doesn't it turn into a black hole like the bubble did, if any 4-D object automatically makes a singularity for some reason? Does it not do that [[RuleOfPerception unless a character points it out?]]
** The bubble did not turn into a black hole until around 10 seconds after he made it. So his sword turned into one as soon as he entered the bubble, which was about 10 second after it turned 4-D.
** In common perception, the 4th dimension is Time. A 4-D bubble is a bubble in space/time, hence the tesseract. It turned into a black hole when it popped. Fin's sword is a solid object, and turned into a solid 4-D object. The sword wouldn't implode unless something destroyed it. It would just hurt things across time, presumably causing even more damage to the target.

* When Finn blows a four dimensional bubble, it comes out as the projection of a tesseract (a four dimensional cube) into three dimensional space. Since bubbles are round, it should be a hypersphere (four dimensional sphere).
** Yeah, that bugged me a little too but, we can't be too sure about 4th dimensional mathematics [[MST3KMantra (in a world involving both magic and science fiction)]].
** Easier to animate, I guess.
** The shadow of a hypersphere is just a sphere. It would look kind of dull. A tesseract, on the other hand, is easy visual shorthand for a 4D object and it looks cool.
** What would a hypersphere even look like? I try to keep up with the theoretical physics shows and have never even heard one mentioned before... Let alone visualized...
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9X6aaqDOtv0 Here ya go.]] [[MindScrew You may want some aspirin.]]

* I could have ''sworn'' that I saw a "human" with brunette hair in "Susan Strong". How can a fish person have hair? If they can, does that also mean that Susan could be a fish person?
** Maybe that person got their hair from some kind of Hair-Goblin, or hair themed wizard. You never know with this show.
** As for what it means for Susan... its ambiguous. They deliberately made it so that every bit of evidence for Susan's humanity can be questioned.
** The brunette is apparently named [[http://www.flickr.com/photos/84568447@N00/5514852121/in/photostream/ Celina]] and was not shown removing her hat. She's also the only one besides Susan who has a name. It's possible they're both actually humans
*** Actually we do see Celina remove her hat. She's one of the three hyoomans seen taking off their hats just before Finn says "They're... They're not humans?" Her hair mysteriously vanishes between frames.
*** Actually actually, when she first starts to take off her hat (Just after the hyoomans are set on fire), the hair moves too. It's part of the hat.
*** Actually actually actually, it's a different character with the same type of hat.
*** Actually actually actually [[OverlyLongGag actually]], the character designs only list one character with her design, and specifically name said character as a "hyooman", so her losing her hair between frames is likely just an oversight.

* In "Susan Strong", how did Susan get all of the "humans" up?
** There was a ladder in the hatch.

* Why did Finn shave his whole head for the witch? Why didn't he just cut off some split ends? It would be a lot more practical.
** Finn's a hero, he would sacrifice it all for the witch.
** That witch's head was HUUUUUGE.
** I figured the witch just magically transplanted all of his hair onto her head.
** It's so that you can have the joke where she tries to go do some evil shit, but then trips on all the hair and falls.

* In "The Limit", how did Jake blink so many times even though he said he couldn't close his eyes?
** He said it was hard too close his eyes, not impossible.
** Every part of his elastic body was stretched to its limit, even his eyelids.

* If time was of the essence in The Mortal Folly, why didn't Jake and Finn just TELL Ice King they didn't have time to deal with him when they were chasing the Lich King? Ice King is evil sure, but even [[EvenEvilHasStandards he would understand if Jake and Finn were trying to save all of existence, the Princess' included.]]
** Finn and Jake aren't the most talkative or intelligent heroes. That and they didn't know how far ahead the Lich was at the time, so stopping to tell the Ice King probably didn't come into their minds.
** Do you honestly think that would have stopped him? He kept asking when the flat out said no, why would telling him "we don't have time for this" have any different effect?

* Where exactly did the jelly filled doughnut come from after Finn stuffed Jake and Lady Rainicorn in a closet for seven minutes?
** Well, he was in a room full of sentient sweets before the seven minutes...
*** I'm 90% sure it was the doorknob he grabbed on the way out.
** Jack has shown the ability to make a pouch for himself before. Maybe he does this often and keeps food in there?
** Lady Rainicorn can phase objects into her body and keep them in there. She has a bunch of jelly filled doughnuts inside of her body as a kind of HammerSpace.

* A thought just occurred: Marceline's Dad is basically the Devil, right? If that's the case, why does Marceline even need to be a vampire if she's at least half-demon?
** I always assumed it was a [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Raven-Trigon thing]], where she served as his gate into the world and he had a vampire make her immortal so he would always have a way back to Earth.
** In the recent mini-series "Stakes" it is revealed that she is indeed half-human and half-demon. This makes her incredibly long-lived (as seen in her Farmworld version) but not ageless or immortal. She was not turned into a vampire by choice, but fought the vampires before being turned into one by the Vampire King.
** [[RuleOfCool Because it looked awesome]].
** In the Farmverse, Marceline never got turned into a vampire and aged into an old woman over the course of a thousand years (or possibly six hundred if she was in suspended animation during the four hundred years that Ooo was frozen). The simplest explanation is that she was born a half-demon with gray skin and pointed ears who ages very slowly, and later (presumably after the flashbacks in Simon and Marcy since she didn't have bite marks on her neck at the time) got bitten (possibly by Ash?) and turned into a half-demon vampire who doesn't age at all. So her demonic nature is unrelated to her vampiric nature.
** In "I Remember You" and "Simon & Marcy", she's shown to have the same color skin and pointy ears, indicating that she's always been a demon, even before the Great Mushroom War.

* Why is Marceline alone long enough for Simon to take care of? Where was her actual dad? Ruling Hell?
** "Finn the Human"/"Jake the Dog" seems to provide a different explanation: as a mere HalfHumanHybrid Marceline is long-lived, but becomes an ElderlyImmortal, as opposed to being a vampire, which seems to give her eternal youth.
** The earliest flashback we see of Marceline and her father together is when her father eats her fries. At this point, she was physically a young woman. (I don't recall whether she had visible bite marks or not yet.) Presumably, she was raised by her mother, who either died or was separated from her in the Great Mushroom War, then was found by Simon, then at some later point encountered her father for the first time, after which he ate her fries. The story of how she first met her father would be prime plot bait for fanfiction and/or a future flashback episode.

* Is anyone else kind of bothered by the fact that the Lich King seems like he won't ever ''do'' anything? I mean... they managed to trap him in ''amber,'' [[Franchise/JurassicPark like a gosh-dang mosquito,]] when Billy "cast him down" it looked incredibly easy, and in his special that he was supposed to have a big part in, he hardly did anything (most of that was Princess Bubblegum... although, don't get me wrong, I loved that special). Also, they implied that although Finn may have "destroyed" him, he still lives within [[ChekhovsGunman the snail.]] Is it just his influence, or really him? And I get the strangest feeling that most if not all of next season's episodes will not feature him. I get that he's supposed to be reserved for epic moments only to protect him from VillainDecay, but I think it'll be a little harder to take him seriously if he just... ''waits.'' Although, I suppose [[NothingIsScarier Nothing]] ''[[NothingIsScarier Is]]'' [[NothingIsScarier Scarier.]]
** It was probably [[WorfHadTheFlu just a bad time for him]]. Look at it from his view: he was defeated by a hero of renown (who fought a bear, for corn sake!), cut off from his source of power for hundreds of years, "defeated" in the middle of recharging, and now has to BodySurf all the way back to his old bones ''and'' recharge before he can do damage again. [[SympathyForTheDevil He's had a really bad day]].
** Adding to the Lich being trapped in amber, what always bothered me (in a show where nothing makes sense anyways) was how is it that a snail (even a mind controlled one) was able to break an amber shell that was supposedly able to keep the Lich trapped. With a shell weak enough to be broken by a snail, couldn't the Lich himself break it from the inside? All it needed was a crack, then he turned to jelly and slipped out.
*** Well it was probably mostly because each episode is only 10-11 minutes long.. However he had pretty much just escaped from years of imprisonment, so he was out of practice and stiff from not moving. But the producers care about the show too much to let him go to waste!
** Also, here's the thing. Remember, that wasn't Princess Bubblegum, the Lich possessed her. So that big fight with her was actually with the Lich. Also, Billy's Song wasn't the real fight. For all we know, the real fight was much longer and more epic. Unless they have an episode specifically to show the Lich's battle with Billy (which would be admittingly epic) we'll never know.
*** (original poster) Yes, I am aware that the Lich possessed Princess Bubblegum. I trust Ice King's wizard-eyes. But how many plots can they use a character like this for in a show like this? This just means the "Lich King possesses a major character and almost kills them" plot has been used up. It seems like the main threat from him is the fact that he can't be killed, but that also means we won't be fooled next time he gets "killed." In fact, it's not likely many were fooled this time. [[LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt And of course he can't actually "end all life."]] But I suppose they'll probably have him go for smaller goals once in a while. Even so, though, episode endings like the "Mortal Recoil" episode where he's still around, but just... ''gives up,'' until the next time, will feel very illogical to me.
** It seems to me like you're being bugged by something that hasn't even happened. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it seems that your major complaint is, "Lich King will probably not appear till the last few episodes of the next season, so what is he doing all the rest of the time?" For all we know he will appear in every other episode (not likely, but still possible). If he does only appear at the end, it's probably because he spent the whole season preparing for his revenge (he's in a snail body, so it would take a long time). As for running out of plot ideas, they'll think of something.

* Just one thing bugs me about the ending of "Mortal Recoil", but it bugs me to no end...Will we still be seeing the Snail OnceAnEpisode ?
** Yes, the snail still appears in every episode.

* In the beginning of the episode Susan Strong there's the scene with Princess Bubblegum being a big ball of awkward over the subject of Finn being the last human, and Finn mentions that he's "never seen another human before." But if that's the case, then what were the Business Men from last season? Did Finn just forget about them?
** They felt more like zombies than living humans like Finn.
** WordofGod says everything in the show that looks human is really just some sort of humanoid/mutant. Finn is stated to be the only human: Susan Strong is the only exception to this rule (so far)
** What I wanna know is: Okay, so Finn’s never MET another human (ignoring Susan’s questionable status) but he’s clearly SEEN other humans, I mean he’s shown watching movies of humans like in ‘‘Heat Signature’’
*** He probably meant that he never saw one in person. For all he knows, the humans in those movies were fictional beings that just happened to look like humans.

* Why was [[spoiler:Bubblegum de-aged]]? Is it some sort of thing to bypass? WTF!? I liked it better the old way.
** The only thing about that that bugs me is, how is she ''younger,'' rather than the same age except smaller? I still like the ending as it is and I get the point, though.
** Maybe candy age is simply determined by how big the person is.
** Not only that, how could they not have enough gum? It's the Candy Kingdom.
** They meant there was not enough that was from her body. There might've been no donors, or it could even be that you need gum "types" like how blood is in RealLife.
** ...but wasn't she a Gumball Guardian-sized giant just a scene before? There should have been ''plenty'' of gum!
*** It's possible all the stuff the Lich had her drink to go OneWingedAngel contaminated some of it or she reverted to normal size when he left her body. The ice might have damaged it before they could rescue her or couldn't use what was created by the Lich's evil.

* What is the problem with Princess Bubblegum being thirteen? I'm not looking for an argument, but I would like someone who found that as controversial to explain what the problem was. Where I stood, it was an incredible DeConstruction of what happens to the LoveInterest twice over which isn't done often enough and was actually extremely interesting. Not to mention that Finn did actually EarnYourHappyEnding in that episode. If the Princess stays thirteen, I find it to be more than fine.
** A recent promo for the new season had a glimpse of Bubblegum as we're used to seeing her; i.e., around 18-ish. Granted, it was only a few frames amidst a lot of other quick image flashes, but still ...
** That was from a Season 2 episode. I think it was "The Other Tarts"
*** Ah dammit. Come on, really? Pendelton Ward has been so good thus far keeping permanent change throughout his series. There's no reason to buckle to {{FanHater}}s when this changes the dynamic of Finn and Bubblegum's relationship, and her relationship with every other character. I hope that isn't true..
** As shown in the episode where she becomes 18 again, she can't actually rule the Candy Kingdom if she's too young. Also, people generally don't like it when alter a main character. It would be like if the Ice King actually found a princess willing to marry him and settled down and stopped being a villain. Or if Marcaline turned into Cute Fairy Princess. It would throw off the nature of the show and possibly spell its doom.
** I too would have liked to see more episodes with Young PB. Even if it was just one more episode before "Too Young", I would have liked to see that explored more.

* If Princess Bubblegum was de-aged due to not being able to find all of her hair, why did Finn hoard his piece? There was probably a good year in that. (This is assuming he picked up that piece in "To Cut a Woman's Hair".)
** Because he doesn't really think too hard about his actions or, judging by it still being pretty soft, he got it more recently, unless her hair is magical which given Ooo, wouldn't surprise me.
** Because he didn't want her to get older. He wanted them to be the same age so they could be boyfriend and girlfriend. It's the same reason the princess didn't just make some more candy flesh for herself. She wanted to be young again.
** Because it's HIS piece of the princess. It's a trophy of sorts to him, and he goes to great lengths to preserve and protect it.
** I'd say it's because the princess just got frozen and shattered to pieces, after turning into a giant monster. She obviously needed to go to the hospital ''immediately.'' It would be ridiculous for Finn to think, "Oh, I better go home and get my piece of ''her hair'' so the doctors can reattach it!"
** Also, they probably didn't ask. I mean, why would it occur to the doctors to ask Finn, a fairly unintelligent hero, how to fix a candy princess? Much less, why would they ask him if he had a part of her body? Remember that he didn't find out about the de-aging until after she came out of the emergency room.

* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJczYn2dvm4 end credits song]]. Yes, it's very relaxing and pleasant, but it kind of feels out of place in a show called '''Adventure''' Time.
** People have to rest after an adventure.
*** "''We can wander through the forest'' / ''And do so as we please''..."
*** No other song would have made it better during the [[spoiler: Grand Finale.]]

* Just what was the Scorcher trying to get the Ice King to sign the second time? And what was with the message he left? It was something like 'Echos of past events nudge the tiller on my present course. I await it's reflection in the future.' What does that even mean?
** I assume we'll find out in a future episode, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it might relate to the Lich King.
** I assumed it was like a receipt. You know how you sign a credit card receipt, to acknowledge that you did receive the items/services and agree to pay the amount listed? I figured it was like that, just stating that the Ice King agrees the Scorcher did carry out his contract. I figured if Ice King had just looked at it and signed the thing, instead of slapping it away and announcing that Finn and Jake were still alive, then he could have avoided all the trouble of that episode.
** [[http://www.flickr.com/photos/84568447@N00/6198389774/in/photostream/lightbox Here’s the final piece of paper that drops after Ice King signs the second contract.]] It reads "Echo of past events/nudge the tiller on/my present course/I await it's reflection/in the future." It reminds me of the Tart-Toter's Speech a little...
** He could have had a previous contract with the ice king before and may have, the ice king that is, forgot about because he's crazy or something and imagined it or thought he did

* Why was the BigBad's name changed from the Lich King to simply the Lich? The Lich King is a much more distinguishable and threatening name.
** WritingAroundTrademarks.
*** Besides this, there's also the fact that thanks to VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft, a whole lot of people think of the "Lich King" not as a terrifying monster but as a sort of douchey guy who makes incredibly bad decisions. Changing the name to Lich removes the association with Arthas and makes the character more frightening to a sizeable chunk of the viewership.
** Lich King implies that he can command an army of Liches. Maybe they wanted to avoid that?
** He Doesn't have the crown jewels that the royalty in Ooo have.

* If Jake was bitten by Marceline, a vampire, in "Evicted", then why isn't he also a vampire?
** You need to bite a vein. He smooshed all of his internals into his finger.
** Not everyone bitten by a vampire tuns into one. Most of them just die. Typically, the vampire has to want to turn you into one of them in order for you to become one.
** Vampire lore in most cultures says a vampire has to bite a person, and then also feed that person some of their own blood in order to ‘sire’ them. Marcie didn’t do that with Jake.

* The prize in the "Wizard Battle" was [[spoiler: a kiss from Princess Bubblegum]] and there are apparently both male AND Female Wizards entering....sooooo, what if a [[LesYay female]] won?
** The wizards didn't know that the prize was, as soon as it's announced you can see a few female wizards looking annoyed at TheReveal and forfeiting. Considering how they got turned into cats for it, I'd say the other females were only playing to save their lives.
** Huntress Wizard(Yes, hunt''ress'', as in female) was seen cheering after the announcement of the prize, and was not shown among the objecting female wizards. She's [[LesYay okay with it, to say the least.]]
* Why wasn't Finn brainwashed by the Fight King when he touched his sword?
** Because Finn can only be brainwashed by a giant worm.
** TooDumbToFool
** And maybe he was, but his love for Jake overcame his brainwashing the whole time.
** He already has experience with [[MindRape Mind Rapes]], he probably developed some resistance to it, as Goliad seems to imply.

* Why does Marceline need cooking pots if she can just drink the red out of stuff?
** While the color red provides her with sustenance, maybe the taste doesn't stand up to a home cooked meal and thus she eats normal food for the enjoyment of it. Also explains the fries.
** So she can cook for her friends that do eat food.
** I'm sure that she has some recipes for really red food that requires cooking pots. Probably involves boiling something after dosing it with red dye.
** So she can boil lobsters.
** Because she likes food. It's why she's still mad that her dad ate her fries.
** Flavour. Even if you can live eating only ''one'' thing, you eventually get tired of eating it. giving it a different flavor avoids getting tired of eating it. Basically, the same reason we cook foods that don't ''need'' to be cooked.
*** The answer could also be gleaned from her entire home set-up: She's basically recreated a typical suburban home from the pre-Mushroom War world.

* PB's connection with Marceline doesn't make much sense by a narrative standpoint; while good and evil aren't exactly mutually-exclusive and individuality is more focused on than their alignment, Marceline, her friends and family are threats to the land of Ooo and the largest part of that is the Candy Kingdom. Am I just supposed to ignore that Marceline is a threat to its survival?
** Is Marceline really a threat to the Candy Kingdom? There are serious questions over whether she's even evil. Her father is trapped in the Nightosphere and Ash is more of [[JerkAss a jerk]] then he is a threat.
*** [[WildMassGuessing Maybe they used to go to school together?]] [[FalseFriend they used to be best friends?]] [[OlderThanTheyLook Marceline helped build or live the Candy Kingdom?]]
** It makes plenty of sense. They're both mentally teenage girls with no parental figures, plenty of time for hobbies, and a mutual friend in Finn. Finn kind of brings out a zest for adventure in both of them, as well as a kind of natural protectiveness.
** We've also seen that, as royalty, they both attend social functions. So, they're the same age and gender, have a lot in common besides, and plenty of chances to interact. They'll either be friends or bitter, bitter enemies. Marceline longs for friendship, and PB isn't uncool enough to turn her down..
** The Candy Guardian that reacts to evil doesn't stir when Marceline or the Ice King comes around, implying neither is truly EVIL.
** Not to mention with more than enough compassion to do so because she wants to be friendly and nice. I don't deny that Marceline wants friends, though. PB may be naive at times and a bit too gentle in others, but she's no dummy. Her father and boyfriend are significant threats, and we've at least seen inklings or herself coming near the slippery slope. I would hope that PB is keeping tabs.
** In Simon and Marcy, we see a blob of bubblegum that's implied to be...Well, [[ShapedLikeItself Bubblegum]]. It's possible that PB met up with Marcy some time after Simon went too crazy to take care of her.
** Think about it: the two things that are actually threats that Marcy is involved with are her father and boyfriend (Marcy herself is arguably chaotic neutral at worst, having not committed a lot of truly evil actions in the show). Who in this equation would be the best person to keep those other two from killing you? Ash doesn't seem to be very powerful, but Abadeer is basically Satan. If I were ruling the candy kingdom I'd make a point of not making an enemy of Satan's daughter.

* If the gem in Princess Bubblegum's crown repels the Lich and his spells, why was he able to possess her after his first body dies? Bubblegum was still wearing the crown the whole time, even in the flashback which ''shows'' the Lich's soul entering Bubblegum's body.
** I would wager that because she was unconscious at the time she was possessed, all of her mind's defenses were lowered to a point where the gem no longer functioned. Her mind was gone-->Nothing for gem to protect?
** She specifically said that the gem was to protect them from his mind control spells. Not the Lich himself.
** Look at the scene before they ascend to the Lich's prison. PB rubs her crown to activate the protection spell. It's possible that falling into the Lich's well overwhelmed the spell and removed the protection, allowing the Lich to invade her body.

* Meta, but is this show going to be in seasons? A lot of Creator/CartoonNetwork shows suffer the fate of being released poorly on DVD, if ever, but this is their popular show for now; those typically get releases..
** The show had its [[http://www.amazon.com/Adventure-Time-Complete-First-Season/dp/B007Q0JJHC first season released.]]

* Why are Finn and Jake so cool with Marceline after she stole their house and nearly killed Jake? It wasn't even acknowledged after "Evicted". Finn's distrust and Jake's fear seemed to only stem from her just being a vampire, not because of the stuff she's done to them.
** This is actually clearly resolved in the second episode featuring Marceline "Henchman". Finn becomes cool with Marceline after he realizes that not only is harmless but quite helpful to the citizens of Ooo. It should be duly noted that Jake has kind of accepted Marceline. In her recent appearances, he hasn't freaked out over her presence and has gone out of his way to help her ("Memory Within a Memory"). It could also be Jake's just [[TheBroCode helping a brother out]] and has decided that if Finn's cool with her, he's cool. If you still have doubt, "What Was Missing" seems to solidify their friendship along with Princess Bubblegum and Marceline's friendship.

* Ok, I've been watching the recent Zombie Apocalypse episode a lot and a few things bug me.... : 1. Why are there more zombies? Candy People explode when frightened. Wouldn't they have exploded when they saw the zombies? 2. Why did Jake push Zombie Candy Cane Guy away with his hand over said zombies mouth? That is the way zombies infect you. 3. Why didn't Finn get infected when he got bit after he coated himself in the antidote? The infection could have got through into his blood, couldn't it? Is he immune or something?
** Step one: Coat self in antidote. Step two: Allow self to be bitten, curing the zombies. Step three: If infected, the now-cured Princess can easily fix it. Easy peasy, livin' greasy.
** Ok, The Princess fixing him after she is cured and he is infected, now I get. Does not help anything else though.
** 1. The zombie bites took effect pretty quickly; the infection probably spread before anyone had a chance to realize what was going on and to get scared. 2. People do dumb/uncoordinated things in the heat of the moment.
** My Theory is that Princess Bubblegum made up the "candy people blow up when scared" thing to silence Finn, so no one would know their wonderful leader unleashed a zombie plague.
*** We SEE Starchy explode from fear in "Slumber Party Panic". Bubblegum didn't make it up.
*** How are we to know that actually happened? For all we know, it's just a sample scenario.
** Maybe PB created some sort of vaccine for the whole "explode when scared" thing between SPP and FBTW.

* How can Ice King be 600 and live before the Mushroom War while Marceline is over 1000 and lived after the Mushroom War?
** Maybe 600 is just what the Ice King thinks.
** HOLD IT! The Adventure Time series presentation specifically says that Ice King is 1000. Pen must've forgot.
*** Said presentation must be taken with a grain of salt, as many elements therein have evolved over the course of the series.
** It is called a retcon.
** Nobody said there was only one apocalypse. It's possible the humans survived the first and even rebuilt a little after the Great Mushroom War. Then, 400 years later, Simon Petrikov found his crown and triggered the creeping blizzard that doomed the last remnants of humanity. This actually makes sense, because otherwise we have to explain why a magic crown existed prior to the Great Mushroom War.
*** Jossed by the episode "I Remember You", which explicitely shows Simon (with the crown) and young Marceline 996 years ago.
** Maybe 600 years ago had been when Simon completely ''lost it''... And Ice King took over ([[FightingFromTheInside almost]]) everything he had left.

* This has been bugging me for a while. The Ice King. He has super amazing ice powers, ninja powers, pretty decent musical ability, and the occasional burst of situational brilliance (freezing Finn and Jake to make them appear dead to fool Scorcher, certain strategies he uses against Finn and Jake such as forming an ice house to trap them, etc.) So he's pretty damn powerful when he WANTS to be, and pretty damn smart when he NEEDS to be. That leads me to wonder, why is he such a DOPE most of the time?! If he was simply more focused and motivated, he might be more successful. We've already seen the Ice King's strengths, and they're impressive. Also... we've already seen the Ice King display a pretty sharp wit on occasion. Do you think he might consider trying to woo Princess Bubblegum by NOT being a jerk- and simply being a nice guy, like how he's a nice guy to his friends? He's a decent person, and can be nice company because he's just a nice guy- albeit awkward. Why doesn't he just try to be friends with PB first?
** Not to mention that The Ice King may actually have KILLED a god. (Granted, the Party God wasn't exactly an A-list god, but still....)
** Because he ''is'' dumb (and quite crazy), despite having a few "aha" moments.
*** If the Ice King- the biggest douchebag in the land of Ooo- could make friends with the most righteous hero in Ooo just by being a nice dude... then why doesn't he use this same approach with Princess Bubblegum?!
*** Finn seems to be the more forgiving type than PB is.
** Simon was a really smart guy. Most of the time the crown makes him crazy but occasionally his original personality shows through. The crown keeps him from being focused.
** I think it's safe to assume that Ice King isn't ''evil''. He may be a bad guy sometimes, but he's shown that he's got a good side (presumably what's left of Simon). Any insanity or stupidity must come from the crown.

* FridgeBrilliance: Ice King is consistently smarter and more effective when he's closer to the Face end of the Face-Heel spectrum. Simon's still in there somewhere, fighting against the crown. Simon is the brains and the crown is the brawn. All the crown wants to do is freeze things (up to and including the world), it doesn't really care whether its power is used for good or evil. When Ice King is trying to do something that Simon would approve of, such as saving Finn and Jake from Scorcher or protect Princess Bubblegum from the Lich, brains and brawn align and he's relatively smart and effective. When Ice King is trying to do something that Simon would NOT approve of, like kidnapping princesses, Simon fights against it, the crown (which is powerful but dumb) is left to its own devices, thus Ice King becomes dumb and ineffectual again.
** The Ice Crown corrupted Finn pretty quickly in "Finn the Human", and "Simon and Marcie" shows that the crown's influence may actually be addictive, so one can make the case that the crown itself is malevolent. Your FridgeBrilliance becomes FridgeHorror when one realizes that Simon has been fighting the crown's influence for a thousand years and STILL retains some vestiges of his better nature (and knowledge of what he has become) despite his insanity. The Ice King, the first villain introduced in the franchise, may actually be the series' most heroic character. Even more so than Billy, because Simon HAS NEVER GIVEN UP!

* "Ghost Princess" establishes that [[OurGhostsAreDifferent ghosts in Adventure Time]] stick around until they remember their mortal lives and the cause of their deaths, at which time they AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence. So, what about the gladiator ghosts from "Morituri Te Salutamus?" They seemed to remember being forced by the Fight King to kill each other. Unless, of course, it's simply the Fight King's magic keeping them in his arena even though they should've ascended.
** When spirits roaming about the earth is invoked, it often means they have unresolved business on the plane of the living. The warriors were being kept prisoner, Ghost Princess and Clarence needed to figure out why they died. It may vary from ghost to ghost and does not necessarily mean they require the same thing to ascend.

* What was Joshua's issue in "Dad's Dungeon"? He was being an asshole towards Finn. Why?
** To toughen him up! He explained this himself.
** Yet he witnessed his growth as an adventurer before he died, unless he knows it isn't good enough.
*** He made the dungeon and recorded all the messages when Finn was a baby who cried a lot (which you see in the first message). He hadn't witnessed anything at that point, and presumably in the years since either forgot how harsh he'd been in those messages, or thought that Finn had grown up into an awesome enough adventurer to handle them with no problem so he didn't bother changing them, or just didn't want to go through the hassle of trudging through the dungeon to rerecord them.
*** Plus dogs only live 13 years, he may only have lived to see Finn be (understandably) unskilled at monster hunting. Which is [[TearJerker kinda sad if you think about it]].
*** But Joshua and the others are MAGIC dogs. Plus, they were already adults when they found baby Finn so they probably do live much longer.
*** ‘‘The Witch’s Garden’’ and ‘‘Crystals have Power’’ both imply that Jake’s magic is unique. That his family is not also magic, but just normal dogs.
** As far as I could tell, the implication was that Joshua didn't understand that humans grow more slowly than dogs. Let's say Finn was around a year old at the time of the message. Maybe Joshua expected him to be out of the diapers-and-baby-food stage at 6 months. And when he wasn't, Joshua decided to go ahead and make preparations, just in case, and he never disposed of them.
** Joshua also had no idea when the boys would find that first tape.
** Drifting into theory territory: This may have been a test for Jake, to see if he would stay loyal and good, no matter who told him what he should do.

* In 'Dad's Dungeon', Finn and Jake are both shown as babies at the same time on one of Joshua's holograms. That doesn’t make any sense. Finn is 13(14?) by the time of that episode, so Jake would have only have been about 5 human years old. I mean, let's say that message was recorded in 1998-ish, so about 13 years ago, when Finn was an infant. So Dad's dungeon would take place in 2012. Jake would have only been born 5 years ago, or in a hypothetical 2007. They shouldn't both appear to be babies at the same time. By the time Jake was born, Finn would have been 9.
** Why would Jake have only been born five years ago? Where are you getting that from? There’s nothing that says Jake and Finn couldn’t have been born about the same time. Jake is currently older than Finn because he counts his age in dog years. That’s why he ages faster.

* Flame Princess. I see Pendleton Ward goes with most other writers and thinks the incredibly strong and Tsundere love interests are superior than gentle and caring ones, too. I didn't see what was wrong with someone kind, smart and compassionate like PB. Even Marceline came off as loyal towards very close friends into something more. And now Finn falls for a amoral Princess of living fire who changes her feelings at the drop of a hat? Yeah, great choice guys. Is there something wrong with the original love interest, exactly? We've already established that PB cares about him-the Lich-killing sweater, the entirety of "Too Young."...Its not like it came out of nowhere.
** PB stopped caring about Finn after de-aging in "Too Young" and stayed like this through the whole Season 3. The creators were building into it to create a new love interests for Finn. And there is nothing wrong in introducing characters with varying personalities. PB is a sophisticated scientist, Marceline's a wild punk girl and Flame Princess is a fierce, sheltered teenager. I would say they're doing a great job with doing the personalities.
*** PB didn't stop caring for Finn, she just has no romantic interest in him. Finn's pretty sensitive, and having him endlessly pine after a girl who just wants to be friends, who is also an adult, would just be too painful. Maybe they'll get together in the future, but as for now, Finn really does need someone his own age. And I really love how sheltered FP is compared to how many adventures Finn's been on. They have a lot of chemistry together despite being near opposites.
** Something wrong? The age gap for one. This simply wouldn't fly in a Western cartoon. Originally it was just presented as younger kid has crush on older girl, who likes him back but-not-in-that-way. Then "Mortal Folly/Recoil" aged her down to a point where she could have liked him back the-same-way, and she's certainly just as affectionate, but "Too Young" put an end to that. Finn describes it as being dumped, but that's from his point of view.

* When NEPTR is found in "Hot to the Touch", he says it's been 15 months since they found him (back in Season 1, when Finn was 12). But in Season 4, Pen said in an interview that Finn is 14. Adding 15 months in, Finn should still be 13. What's up with that error?
** It was never implied that they immediately left NEPTR after the "What is Life?" episode. He could've been started counting from much later period. Alternatively, Finn is still 13, but turns 14 soon.
** No, no. You're both forgetting "Mystery Train", where Finn turns 13.

* Flame Princess says Finn was her "prince". Wouldn't that be... her brother?
** One of the oldest definitions for the word "Princess" is "The wife of a prince". A prince being the son of a monarch. In other words, Flame Princess is saying that she already plans on marrying Finn and becoming princess of his Kingdom.
** Jake said he was the prince of the Grasslands and was interested in her.
** It's like Betty being Ice King's "Princess", just a nickname to show that person means a lot to her.

* Why doesn't Finn just use the fire-proofing spell that Flambo put on Jake in "Incendium" to hang out with Flame Princess?
** Apparently, according to Andy Ristaino, [[http://www.formspring.me/skronked/q/354603947761094206 Flambo is hard to find]], and [[http://www.formspring.me/skronked/q/354252054325118680 it wears off after some time.]]
** Cocoon Finn is [[RuleOfFunny funnier]] than Blue Finn.
** This bugged me until I remembered the last time we saw Flambo was in the Fire Kingdom, which Jake could visit only because he had the fire-proofing spell active. If Flambo is still there then there's no way our heroes could reach him, for now.

* Does Flame Princess have a name? Considering the fact that she and Finn are more or less "official," it seems weird that Finn only calls her Flame Princess.
** "(insert domain here) Princess" or "Princess (domain/name)" just seem to be the normal terms for addressing princesses in this show. Princess Bubblegum is the only one we know of to have a first name, and nobody besides Marceline (somewhat mockingly) ever uses it.
** As of "The Cooler", her name was revealed to be Phoebe.

* In "Trouble in lumpy space," [[spoiler: Jake gets bitten by LSP and has to get the antidote before sun down, or else he'll be lumpy forever. later in the episode, they get the antidote, which is a ball that cures you if you sit on it. Finn infects himself with the lumps to take a leap of fate and get to Jake in time. He desperately tries to get Jake to sit on it before he becomes lumpy, but here's the odd thing. Why didn't Finn just sit on the antidote first, then force Jake on the orb? And another thing, why didn't Jake just stretch himself to make out point earlier? He can still stretch, as shown in the car scene]]
** They were panicking and not thinking clearly.

* This may have to do with production order, but what's LSP doing in the woods again in "Gotcha"? I thought she went back home in "The Monster"? It may be explained later, but it was a little weird to see her in the woods again.
** According to WordOfGod, she likes hanging out in the woods. Her apartment is nice, and she likes the freedom of the forest. She still goes back to see her parents and get sandwiches very often. All is well in the LSP world.

* In "another way", how did Finn cross the acidic quick running river carrying [[spoiler: a giant cyclops head?]]
** Maybe he just ran through it and [[spoiler: healed himself with the cyclops' tears?]]

* About Finn's song in "What Was Missing." From what I've heard, the general consensus is that the song is about how Finn has doubts about his relationships with Marceline, PB, and Jake. I was always under the impression that it was just about Princess Bubblegum, though. The majority of the song was explicitly about her, after all. If my theory is correct, doesn't the treatment PB receives seem a little cruel? First Marceline digs into her and ''spits'' on her, then Finn sings a song that singles her out. By the end of the episode I was really feeling for her.
** I didn't interpret the song as being mean to PB, but Finn did basically ask her what he means to her. "Am I [[IdiotHero a joke]], [[BodyguardCrush a knight]], or [[LikeBrotherAndSister your brother]]?" Though it's important to note that he calls PB, Jake and Marceline his best friends in the world. Even if he feels a little upset that PB isn't exactly returning his feelings, he still considers her a good friend along with Jake and Marceline.
** Why would it not apply to the others? The "a joke (Marceline), your knight (Bubblegum), or your brother (Jake)" all fit the three friend's general relationship with Finn. Some verses obviously single out PB, but not to the point where the entire song is for her. Given that the Finn's main frustration of the episode was that he couldn't get the others to work together, it'd make perfect sense for him to air his worries about his relationship with them all given that nobody was taking him all that seriously here.

* Is Marceline ambidextrous? The titles and most episodes show her playing bass left-handed, but in "What Was Missing" she's suddenly right-handed...
** Yeah- she's ambidextrous. Confirmed by WordOfGod.

* Why does Princess Bubblegum look a little younger in Princess Cookie?
** It's the art style. It varies every episode.

* In Card Wars, if Finn lost by having no monsters on his side, then why didn't Jake lose after Finn's pig beat Jake's last monster?
** Because Finn's pig became Jake's since it couldn't leave the mud landscape.

* Why is UsefulNotes/AbrahamLincoln the King of Mars?
** Things got ''weird'' during the Great Mushroom War.
** The original pilot had him living on Mars as a spiritual guide for Finn. In the past. Also, he looks like Jesus with the halo. Things got ''really weird'' during the Mushroom War.

* Are the Grasslands actually part of the Candy Kingdom? Bubblegum tries to collect taxes from Finn and Jake in one episode, but the rest of the time Finn and Jake are treated as a sort of non-aligned adventure types. Was Bubblegum overstepping her bounds? Or have Finn and Jake been her subjects this whole time and it just never really came up?
** Apparently, the grasslands are part of the Candy Kingdom's territory.

* At the end of "The Silent King" the goblins still think Finn is their king. But in "Hot To the Touch" they don't try to stop Finn from fighting Flame Princess.
** They think Finn's still their king because they can't tell the difference between Finn (an average-sized human boy) and Whisper Dan (a 7-foot-tall metal automaton). What makes you think they'd recognize him in another context?

* Am I the only one that sees ''Fionna and Cake'' as a StealthInsult / TakeThat, generally mocking how much the idea of the episode just seemed so ...er... fanfiction-y? Awaiting Backlash, but still. I feel like if the episode is a deconstructive StealthParody it adds a massive level of FridgeBrilliance, like the whole focus being Prince Gumball and Fionna's romance, Fionna suddenly seeming much older and not looking much like Finn, Ice Queen's VillainSue-ishness, it all just reeks of fanfiction. It also makes perfect sense in the context of what inspired the episode, which boil down to Rule63 and fourchan, which would point to Pen Ward just being a very clever troll. But it seems like it is acquiring a pretty bad MisaimedFandom, and everyone is taking it straight and loving it. Maybe I'm just too far on the cynical scale, but perhaps it's become a case of SpringtimeForHitler? Or am I underestimating the fanbase's ability to detect irony?
** I thought it was a pretty clearly meant to be a parody of fanfiction.
** It was a Fanfic written by Ice King, of course it comes off as poorly made, that's the point.
*** Which wasn't the headscratcher. The headscratcher is when people are saying the episode was "cute" and loving it without realizing they were being insulted and that the majority of the episode was StylisticSuck.
** I partially agree with you, but I think it's an affectionate parody rather than a malicious insult. There's no reason that demographic shouldn't be able to enjoy the episode (both on a played-straight fanservice and meta level) unless they can't take a bit of gentle ribbing. Also, note that Pen Ward had relatively little to do with this episode, and many of the people that did work a lot on it, like Natasha Allegri, seemed to be straight-up enjoying creating the gender-swapped characters on an almost fannish level.
*** The above is pretty much correct. Rebecca Sugar stated: "I wanted this episode to be a jab at, but also a huge celebration of, the feeling of being a fan, of allowing something completely ridiculous to make your heart tighten, or even, in some small way, change how you feel about yourself. I'm so fascinated by that feeling, it's beautiful and messed up and embarrassing, it's the reason I wanted to make cartoons!" It is a small jab, but it's also the creators just having all out fun with their work.
** The short version is that it's basically an AffectionateParody. It pokes fun at the idea, but not in a mean-spirited way.
** And even Creator/TomKenny has said he loves how Fionna is a good role model for girls. If it was meant to be a mean TakeThat she'd have no likability and there'd be no speech about not needing to find a guy.

* In the reverse gender art shouldn't reversed Lady Rainicorn be Lord Storm-acorn or something? A Storm/Unicorn hybrid would be JustForFun/MadeOfWin BlowYouAway, MakingASplash, ShockAndAwe all in one.
** It make sense if you look at it in terms of light. A rainbow is just a band of refracted light. It’s white light separated into all its component colors. The opposite of light is darkness. Black represents darkness. It's similar to the reason why Cake is a cat. Cats are the anti-dog. Black is the Anti-rainbow.

* Am I the only one who thinks Fionna looks older than Finn? Even though they're supposed to be [[DistaffCounterpart counter-parts]] (and thus presumably the same age).
** I sorta have to agree. It ''may'' be the fact that girls mature earlier, but it still looks like it may be more then that.
** Based on the Ice King's reaction when Princess Bubblegum is resurrected as a 13-year-old (to leave and stop pursuing her), and the fact that he's the author of fan fiction starring Fionna and Fionna is portrayed as the Ice King's perfect mate, it's little wonder she'd be older than Finn.

* A little error occurred in Adventure Time With Fionna and Cake. Since the web was abuzz with [[RuleSixtyThree genderbending,]] it would be logical to include all the genderbent Adventure Time characters. That is actually false. If the Adventure Time timeline starts at the first episode, you will see that not once did Marceline and Ice King ever meet. How could the Ice King include Marshal Lee in the fanfiction if he doesn't even know Marceline?
** Actually, the Ice King and Marceline are the only characters known to be hundreds of years old (around [[AgeWithoutYouth six hundred]] and [[OlderThanTheyLook one thousand]], respectively) so they could have met hundreds of years ago. It's likely that Marceline is too hard to kidnap or befriend, so the Ice King doesn't really give a flop about her, and Marceline presumably doesn't like the Ice King. Alternatively, we're not sure that Marshal Lee was really there since he was completely unimportant to the story. Maybe the story actually said something like, "All of Fionna's friends were at the Gumball Ball" and Finn just imagined that Fionna would be friends with a male vampire because he himself is friends with a female one.
*** Another explanation as to why he wouldn't kidnap her is that Marceline is a queen and the Ice King only wants to marry princesses. (according to WordOfGod, she killed the vampire king.)
*** As revealed in "I Remember You", Ice King ''does'' know Marceline.
*** This could be also seen in "Holly Jolly Secrets", where Ice King sings the Fries song, foreshadowing that he knows her and actually follows her music.

* How did Finn and Jake survive when they literally spend several weeks waiting in line in the nightosphere?
** One of the creators suggested that they were drinking their own piss......Finn probably got some food and water in the backpack, though.
** A never ending supply of bananas...ewwww.

* "King Worm" seems like it's a sequel to "Evicted." So, was everything just a dream for the past 3 seasons?
** It's not a sequel. King Worm's [[TheBusCameBack bus came back]].
** Or the episode just takes place earlier.
*** Highly unlikely. The series thus far has been entirely consistent airing episodes in chronological order.
*** If you look at the imagery in the dream it includes elements from future episodes that hadn't been aired at the time such as the penguin monster later seen in "Reign of the Gunthers." This implies that the dream is visionary in nature depicting glimpses of things that have yet to happen. Other elements of the dream scape such as flame princess who Fin hadn't yet met in "Evicted" could just be further visions of things to come if this episode does in fact pick up where evicted ended. From a logical stand point there really is no way to determine if King Worm picks up where "Evicted" ended or its a completely different incident where King Worm has returned.
*** It's likely a different incident. If it picked up where Evicted left off, Finn could see visions of Flame Princess and the Lich, but he wouldn't know who they were (He mentions them both by name)

* Other King Worm questions:
** Why are Finn's ears longer in King Worm?
*** It's a visual clue to the audience to show that they're in a dream (which comes in handy after he "wakes up").
*** Because it's a dream.
*** Anatomical inaccuracy in dreams is a real thing. Loose teeth and extra fingers are common.
** Was everything in King Worm actually a dream or just a freaky MindScrew set up by King Worm?
*** The mind screws are ''because'' it's a dream.
** If everything in King Worm was a dream, why does the Ice King call Finn and Jake Fionna and Cake?
*** Finn is aware of the Ice King's fanfiction featuring Fionna and Cake, so it's reasonable for those names to appear in his dream.
*** Because it's a dream.
** Why would Finn dream about being a king and being with Princess Bubblegum when he's with the Flame Princess? Moreover, why is Princess Bubblegum one of his biggest fears alongside the [[EldritchAbomination Lich]]?
*** His fear was PB teaming up with his enemy and then rejecting him for being too young.
*** The fact that he dreams of being the Candy King with PB as his wife and that he's terrified of her calling him too young suggests that he may still have feelings for her.
** Why does a high pitched Finn sometimes interject in the episode?
*** Because it's a dream.

* Once Goliad is trapped in the psychic stalemate, why doesn't Finn kill her or attack her to help tip the balance of the battle in Stormo's favor?
** Because she was designed to be immortal.
** So? That could mean she was immortal in the sense that she would never die of old age. Being immortal and being invincible don't always go hand in hand, so where was it stated in the episode that Goliad could never be harmed?
** I think after Stormo was created and it was established that Goliad was no longer an immediate threat it became against Finn's code to harm her. Considering he once let the Ice King out of jail just because he hadn't done anything "recently" wrong, it's clear that he will not try to eliminate any being that isn't actually causing harm or damage.
** Earlier in the episode, PB states that they should dismantle her and try again. The only reason they didn't use this plan is because Goliad read her mind. Once she's in a eternal stalemate, what's stopping PB from continuing with her dismantling plan? Goliad couldn't stop the battle for a second, because Stormo would kill her. Why doesn't she dismantle her when she can't divide her attention?

* If Lemongrab was created by PB herself, why the hell is he second in line for the throne?!? Why wouldn't the Duke of Nuts or any other noble take precedent over her Frankenstein Monster?
** She created him in case something happened to her.
** Because Lemongrab was created for the sole purpose of taking the throne if something ever happened to Princess Bubblegum. Plus, Jesse Moyninan, (one of the two writers of the episode,) said that Princess Bubblegum is his mom; ergo, he is her son. It's a mix of the laws of the kingdom and peerage, presumably. Again, as PB said, it's complicated. She doesn't like it, Lemongrab doesn't like it, the Candy Kingdom doesn't like it, Finn doesn't like it, but that's just the way it is. That son of a toot is stuck as the heir to the throne.
** In the original storyboards, PB states that she "wanted to create an uncle for herself". If we assume that PB's parents are dead or just out of the picture, that would make him the closest family member.
** PB is shown to be EXTREMELY committed to the letter of the law, LawfulGood verging on LawfulStupid. Given that she's not human and her psychology is known to be... strange at times, it might even be considered a mild case of BlueAndOrangeMorality. She has NEVER knowingly violated "Candy Kingdom law" or "the Candy Kingdom-[other government] Treaty." Lemongrab is at least as dedicated to the letter of the law, and he is also shown to be very concerned with the purpose of his own existence as well as relatively unhinged. Presumably, he insisted that his status as royalty and heir be maintained (since otherwise, his existence would be meaningless-- UNACCEPTABLE!) and PB established his earldom and drafted the Candy Kingdom-Lemongrab Treaty to placate him while getting him out of her hair, and the whole thing came back to bite her later on.

* Two problems in Too Young: 1) If the law forbids Princess Bubblegum to rule the kingdom because she was only 13, why wasn't the same reason used for Lemongrab who, age wise, is most likely not even three yet? B) Even then while PB was physically 13 at the time, she still had the intelligence, memories, and sense of duty as her 18 counterpart, so even then she's still 18 thus still able to rule.
** A) Lemongrab was designed as an adult, kind of like how Jenny from ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeAsATeenageRobot'' is, well, a teenage robot even though she's actually only six years old. B) The rule (or perhaps just Lemongrab) apparently places more importance on the ruler's physical/biological age rather than their mental and intellectual capacity.
*** [[FridgeBrilliance Which makes sense]]. Would you be very inclined to listen to a kid on political matters, even if they show they had plenty of a mind for it?

* Okay... Princess Bubblegum looked like she was about 18 when she created Lemongrab. That means he's only about one or two years old, maybe three at the most. Think about it. He may be immature as hell, but he knows how to walk, how to talk very well, and other things... He MAY be an idiot, but he's actually exceedingly young- chronologically, he's just a baby or a toddler. If he's THIS accomplished mentally at the age of 1 or 2, wouldn't that make him sort of a genius? Or did PB intentionally create him to have exceedingly high intelligence so he could learn quickly, thus he could become a mentally capable heir in a shorter amount of time? Or am I just thinking about this WAAAY too hard?
** It seems like he was created with the mind of an adult. As for her family, my guess is that she was born a mutant and created the denizens of the Candy Kingdom herself.
** Also, we now know that Princess Bubblegum has been 18 for centuries, so Lemongrab might, in fact, be significantly older than one or two years. And in fact, consider this: PB says that Lemongrab was her first experiment gone wrong. Nowadays, we know that, in fact, ALL candy people were created by PB. So, it's definitely possible that Lemongrab is actually one of the OLDEST candy people around.

* Lemongrab's job is to take the throne if something happens to Princess Bubblegum, right? So why is it that he was informed of PB's de-ageification when even the princess obviously didn't want him there, while at the same time he was totally unaware of the Princess being ill and possessed by the Lich, kidnapped multiple times, taken hostage, etc... times when it really WOULD have been a good idea to have a temporary replacement for PB? Turning younger- not a big deal (unless you're Lemongrab, because everything is SeriousBusiness for him anyway.) But where the hell was Lemongrab when the princess was ''missing'' altogether, held hostage, and rather sickly after recovering from the Lich's possession?
** And another thing... Who the HELL actually TOLD Lemongrab about PB's de-ageification? This troper has nothing against Lemongrab as a person, but if nobody wants him around, why tell him just so he can rule? Is PB's messenger to Lemongrab just a {{Jerkass}} or something?
*** Lemongrab must visit every once in a while. He is an earl, after all. I always assumed that Lemongrab came to the Candy Kingdom as part of some yearly envoy, saw it in UNACCEPTABBBBLLLLLLEEEEE CONDITIOOOOOOOOOOOOOON, then saw that PB had been de-aged, and declared himself ruler in her stead.

* Here's an interesting one. Lemongrab always has a sword with him (except when he's in his pajammies, or in certain sketches when he appears a bit more casual.) Is it possible that he's a good sword-fighter? Do you think there's more badass to Lemongrab than meet the eye? If not, then why would he bother bringing a sword around with him at all times?
** Now confirmed that it's a magic sword that sends out soundwave-like blasts, so Lemongrab probably isn't that good a swordfighter, hence why he uses something like that instead.

* According to Peppermint Butler, food comes from Mars. But in the very next scene, we see Lemongrab running to an apple orchard. On other occasions, we've seen food growing on Earth, such as the orange trees in the Breakfast Kingdom and the gardens in The Monster. And the Candy Kingdom is MADE of food. According to Finn, there's a grocery kingdom. So... how does Pepbut's remark really connect?
** Lemongrab cut him off before he could finish saying the word. I can understand why you'd hear "Mars", but that's not what was meant.
** Given that there is a civilization on Mars that apparently has a fairly good grasp on teleportation technology, it's not that implausible that food does come from Mars.
** He never said ALL food, maybe he just meant some food?
* Natasha Allegri said that Princess Bubblegum has a big butt. Lemongrab happens to have quite a bit of junk in his trunk, as well. Do you think Princess Bubblegum made him like that so there would be a family resemblance? And speaking of which, what do you think the REST of PB's family looks like? Are they bubblegum people, or are they humanoids consisting of other types of candy?
** About the Lemongrab part: you're over-thinking it. The show has done that to Finn's (and sometimes Jake's) butt for a long time.
*** Sorry. Adventure Time, through its years of showing off big, round butts, gave me a serious butt fetish. I'm going to crawl into a fetal position and scream unintelligently now.
** For the family part, the season 5 episode "Simon and Marcy" shows the (probable) beginnings of Princess Bubblegum as a sentient pink goo, and other episodes explain that she created all the candy people. So I don't think she has a family except for the kingdom she created.

* Here's an interesting but very useless question. What the HELL did Lemongrab plan to do, by himself, in a totally empty kingdom, when all of its residents were imprisoned for several years? Just sort of dick about, being a dick? Or does he have some really interesting hobbies that would entertain him for five whole years? Or, according to the non-canon comic, would he just sit in a chair in an empty room and scream for most of that time? He's such a peculiar character... Does he do REALLY weird stuff when no one's looking, sort of lime BMO in "Five Short Graybles?"
** I think it's obvious he's not putting much thought into the future. Remember when he let Peppermint Butler out of the dungeon because he realized he needed someone to feed him?
** Lemongrab has consistently been shown to have poor long-term planning skills and impulse control. Remember, this is the guy who used the entirety of his food supply to create subjects to rule, which promptly began starving with no food to eat, so he petitioned the Candy Kingdom for a shipment of relief supplies, which he immediately used to create more starving subjects. Also, considering that at the time he'd been ruling an empty earldom with no subjects for a number of years, having a skeleton crew to serve him and the rest of his subjects in the dungeon probably seemed like the height of luxury.

* Okay... If Princess Bubblegum is SUUUCH a benevolent, kind ruler, then why the hell doesn't she seem to care about the Royal Tart Toter or Lemongrab?! The Tart Toter is INSANE, and Lemongrab is mentally/emotionally unstable, and socially awkward up to the point of being isolated from everyone else. In addition to this, she SMILED when she said the Tart Toter is insane, and Lemongrab is her son, and she doesn't seem to care about him at all as a person. WHAT THE HELL IS PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM'S PROBLEM?!
** Because Princess Bubblegum actually made it CLEAR that there's something VERY wrong with his brain. He's either brain-damaged, mentally disabled, emotionally unstable, retarded, or something else just as horrible. The creators did say that he's "completely unadjusted to living." He probably doesn't know the effect he has on people- the creators of the show DID say that he has no idea how to read social cues. He just doesn't know any better! The reason fans are upset by Too Young is because it genuinely isn't his fault he's so mean and insensitive- it's Princess Bubblegum's, and yet she punishes him for problems that are probably beyond his control.
*** It wouldn't be the first time the show suggested that she has a nasty side.
** We don't know what Bubblegum may have tried to "cure" Lemongrab before that. He seems like a ''very'' stubborn person, he probably didn't ''listen'' to her when she tried to tell him he was doing wrong. It's very likely at least SOME of his problems aren't her fault. And she did make him an Earl, which isn't exactly throwing him out on his butt.
*** Gilded cage. Just because PB gave him a royal title, doesn't mean she actually cares about him or HIS feelings. From what we know, she, fed up with his behavior, stuck him in a castle outside the kingdom walls to be raised/taken care of by servants, and didn't even speak to him (or OF him) again until the events of Too Young. Swept him under the silver rug. Another clue is the fact that she didn't tell ANYBODY about him before he came back to claim the throne. When he returned to the Candy Kingdom to rule, nobody knew who he was- as if Princess Bubblegum didn't even bother introducing Lemongrab to any of the other candy people.
** If it's any consolation, she ''does'' care about the mentally ill. There's a mental hospital in the Candy Kingdom now, apparently. The Tart Toter is there. The patients are treated pretty darn well, and just sort of hang out, playing games and watching TV. That ''still'' doesn't really make the "Lemongrab situation" any better, though.
*** Maybe off-screen, Jake managed to convince Princess Bubblegum to create the mental hospital after what happened to Cookie Princess? After all, it looks incredibly new and had not been seen before.
** "You Made Me" shows that she '''does''' care about Lemongrab and wants to help him. When FridgeBrilliance applied, one realizes that she treated him horribly ''only when she was de-aged at 13'', when her personality was very blatantly shown to be childish and immature, more like Finn. Not to mention that she created Lemongrab ''after'' she was actually 13, so while de-aged Bubblegum remembers creating Lemongrab, she ''feels'' toward him like she naturally would at age 13...which is, she feels nothing toward him at all. As an 18-year old, with five years' worth of maturing, her feelings toward Lemongrab are very different. The only bad thing she did to him in that state was call him a "butt" when firing him, and considering his {{Jerkass}} actions toward her citizens, one can't really fault her that solitary moment of angry verbal retribution.

* This is an asshole question, (and I feel REALLY bad about asking it because Lemongrab is actually my ''favorite character''...) but why in the hell did Princess Bubblegum not disassemble LG when she figured out that he had GoneHorriblyWrong? I know- this is a really mean question, but it's basically been established that Princess Bubblegum can't stand the guy. He's a TERRIBLE ruler, a terrible heir, and as far as we know, an exceedingly unpleasant person who would be better off not existing, because all he does is cause misery to other people and himself. Logically, Princess Bubblegum could have killed or disassembled Lemongrab, then used his candy flesh to try again and start over- indeed if Lemongrab is, as implied, totally unable or unwilling to be fixed or bettered in some way.
** Well at least you're aware of how fucked that question is. Here are some reasons: A) Lemongrab isn't evil. B) Lemongrab isn't particularly dangerous to anybody but himself. C) Princess Bubblegum doesn't really seem like the type who would take away a person's life because they have mental problems. D) Maybe she ''tried'' fixing him, but he was too stubborn and he ran away. E) Princess Bubblegum only wanted Goliad destroyed because Goliad had become bent on taking the throne and cruelly mind-raping everyone. The worst Lemongrab did was send people to the dungeon for extended periods of time- and that was mostly him being an idiot, not him being evil. Hope that helps.
** According to Jesse Moynihan, Princess Bubblegum wanted Goliad disassembled because Goliad was highly destructive. Lemongrab is merely "dysfunctional." Apparently, Princess Bubblegum isn't quite amoral enough to take somebody's life just because they're an emotionally unstable and intellectually challenged butt. She had a perfect reason for wanting to disassemble Goliad. She has no good reason for wanting to disassemble Lemongrab, because the worst he's done is act like a nuisance, piss people off, and be a retard. PB may have occasional, questionable lapses in morality, but she isn't really the monster everyone says she is, and she wouldn't KILL a person she MADE just because that person turned out to be a harmless but retarded asshole.
** For the same reason that parents don't take a baby born with a serious birth defect out back and drown them in the well. You MONSTER.

* "A lemon gives by taking, and cares by yelling." I know Lemongrab isn't really "all there" in the head, but... What did this phrase mean? It seems like there's some kind of meaning to it that I'm just not getting.
** They told him to 'take care.' He explains his perspective on the issue.
** He was emphasizing that the "lemon" style of governing is different from the "candy" style. To him, taking is "giving", and yelling is "caring".

* Lemongrab collects...catcher's mitts? Is there some kind of psychological connection to the catcher's mitt? Does it symbolize birth in some way?
** My guess is that it was a NonSequitur joke thrown in to be funny. Or perhaps Lemongrab has an interest in the sport, and collects them? Or... I don't know. He's just [[CloudCuckooLander odd]].
** Is it a reference to Literature/TheCatcherInTheRye?
*** Jesse Moynihan, one of the writers of the episode, confirmed that Tom Herpich (the other writer of the episode) wrote the scene, and that Tom intended for the catcher's mitts to have a VERY meta, deep symbolism. However, Jesse went on to say that [[ForTheEvulz he refuses to tell the fans what that symbolism is, because he finds the theories that fans come up with to be entertaining.]]
*** One Adventure Time fan went to Tom Herpich's blog and asked about the symbolism of the catcher's mitts. Tom Herpich said that [[CrossesTheLineTwice he didn't want to explain it]], because the ''point'' of the scene is for it to be mysterious and weird, like [[FridgeBrilliance Lemongrab]].
*** If I had to guess, it would be something like how a parent (usually a father but a mother can do it too) will play catch with their son. Basically, it further reinforces the idea that Lemongrab feels as though he's all alone and nobody loves him; not even his mother. At least, that's what it symbolizes to me. (Lemongrab is fatherless after all.)
** Some fans believe that the catcher's mitts are a VisualPun on gay "pitcher-catcher" innuendos- foreshadowing the AmbiguouslyGay relationship of [[HoYay Lemongrab and his clone]].
** Perhaps it symbolizes a desire to be caught (rescued) before he falls (to a point of no return)?
** It's possible that it symbolizes the viewer's desire to catch all the references, meta indeed.
** Jesse and Tom probably read these and smile.
** I remember reading somewhere that LG is meant to resemble an autistic person. Autistic people often have fascinations and collections that might seem odd to neurotypical people. That might be all there is to it.

* Why did Lemongrab scream "PUT YOU IN MY OVEN!" at Crunchy? Was he really saying that he wanted Crunchy dead because he didn't like him?
** Seemed more like it was just his horrible attempt at baby talking. Like saying "So cute I could eat you up!". He's just really bad at that sort of thing.

* Lemongrab's KarmaHoudini. Sweet fucking god, Lemongrab. This man [[WouldHurtAChild tortured children]] in an electrical chamber, assaulted a baby, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking terrorized his pet camel]], tortured the people who were trying to ''rescue'' the children he tortured (including a young boy and a dog!), and tried to attack his own ''creator'' with his Sound Sword after she spent the entire episode trying to HELP [[UngratefulBastard HIM]]! And yet, everyone was A-OK with Lemongrab by the end! No one was mad at him, he wasn't shown apologizing, he wasn't punished or scolded for ''anything'' he did wrong, he never even ''admitted'' to doing anything wrong... And in the end, he got ''exactly'' what he wanted, having done ''absolutely NOTHING'' to deserve his happy ending. What a {{Jerkass}} dick. [[DisabilityAsAnExcuseForJerkassery Why did the heroes just shrug off all of his disgusting crimes like it was no big deal?!]]
** Lemongrab ''REALLY'' wasn't himself for most of that episode. He was ''insane.'' One can hardly call him out on the crimes he committed when he was too insane to even THINK like a PERSON! Anyway, Lemongrab was shown meeting his clone for the first time. When they became friends, they immediately agree to pardon the prisoners. Lemongrab was very enthusiastic about pardoning everyone. IMMEDIATELY after this scene, the episode cuts to the LG and the Lemongrab Clone, who now has a pegasus, and new clothes, and a scepter. Everyone's saying good-bye to them. Presumably, there was a REALLY long, elaborate scene leading up to the rushed ending. Logically, quite a bit of time passed between Lemongrab pardoning the prisoners, and Princess Bubblegum telling them to "take care." Who knows? In the scene that wasn't shown, Lemongrab may have apologized for being a complete dick, exchanged some kind words and advice with the Princess, and bonded with the Lemongrab clone and everyone else. I mean... his character development progressed VERY quickly. By the end of the episode, he was friendly, cheerful, affable, even ''kind.'' But there was a LOT we DIDN'T see that led up to the ending. The conflict seemed to have been resolved when the camera wasn't rolling.
** That was a baby? I'm not so sure given that just seconds before, a candy person who looks EXACTLY like that is shown, and said candy person is capable of talking and sleeping in an adult bed.

* I know Lemongrab is an idiot, and bad at math, but... seriously. Such a stickler for the rules should have been aware that his own actions were illegal, according to both his ''own'' rules and the rules of the kingdom. He said that he would only be in charge until the princess turned 18. That's only five years. Somebody should have pointed out to him that he only had the right to imprison people for five years at the most... not seven, or twelve, or one ''million.'' By the way, Finn isn't even a citizen of the Candy Kingdom. He lives in the grasslands in the tree fort. Did Lemongrab even have any legal right to imprison Finn, when Finn doesn't even live there?
** He can probably toss whomever he wants to into the dungeon as long as they're in the kingdom - after all, Princess Bubblegum can apparently imprison the Ice King. And he can sentence them to the dungeon for any amount of time, it's just that once the princess grows up again she's allowed to issue pardons as she pleases.
** The kingdom is actually bigger than just the city. Like lemongrab. In burning Low is showed that F&J have to pay taxes to Princess bubblegum, so they actually ''are'' citizens of the kingdom. Also, even if you were not from a city, you still would be arrested if you broke the law.
** Also, has it been proven that Princess Bubblegum ages naturally? All the flashbacks of her are at about the same age. The only time she's been younger is when they had to reassemble her but didn't have enough candy flesh. [[FridgeHorror She could theoretically have stayed the same age for a million years if she couldn't add more candy flesh to herself.]]
*** Another way to think about it is that a judge doesn't have to limit the length of the sentences he gives out based on how long he is going to remain working as a judge. Even if he knows he is being replaced tomorrow he can still send a murder to prison for 50 years.

* Three juvenile delinquents with a taste for being jerks, living with a screaming, borderline autistic lunatic... '''WHAT PARTS OF THIS PLAN SOUND LIKE GOOD, REASONABLE IDEAS?!''' It's completely obvious that ''something'' would go horribly wrong. Shouldn't Princess Bubblegum have at least ''warned'' the Pup Gang that the man they would be living with was mentally unstable and extremely volatile- and should ''not'' have his royal buttons pushed?
** Did you miss the part where every single other candy person joined an angry mob specifically to protest going to Lemongrab's? She was desperate and had no choice but to ask the Pup Gang to go. Otherwise Lemongrab would keep up his stalking.
** In fact, the Pup Gang's ultimatum was that their crimes be forgiven in exchange for going to Castle Lemongrab. The only reason THEY went was to get out of prison.

* Did Princess Bubblegum know about Lemongrab's "reconditioning chamber?" Something tells me that she wouldn't like the idea of her batshit crazy bastard child owning something as dangerous as a torture device. Does she even go to the castle for regular visits, to make sure the stupid ass isn't hurting himself or other people?
** It's pretty obvious that there aren't regular visits. Castle Lemongrab has a full staff to wait on Lemongrab hand and foot, so he does not need PB to constantly babysit him. Until he started stalking everyone, it was enough.

* In "Too Young," when Princess Bubblegum created Lemongrab, he was a screaming, incomprehensible, flailing idiot- akin to most babies. However, the Lemongrab clone in "You Made Me" was very, VERY young... yet he was articulate, could walk, and was (reasonably) intelligent. Why is it that the ''second'' Lemongrab clone didn't appear to be as initially maladjusted as the original after he was born? The original Lemongrab screamed, flapped his arms, and then passed out from the terror of being alive. The Lemongrab clone calmly walked into the room and said, in a (fairly reasonable) indoor voice, "Hello? Am I in the right room?" and calmly introduced himself when addressed. How does this make sense?
** The first Lemongrab was PB's very first foray into biocandyengineering. She's much more skilled by the time of "You Made Me!", and has evidently reduced or eliminated birthing issues (the same was true of Goliad and Stormo)
** Lemongrab was born in a dark, creepy laboratory. The Lemongrab clone was born in a pantry. It's possible that Lemongrab flipped out because he was frightened of the dark, sinister lab, and the weird lady in goggles and a white coat looming over him. The Lemongrab clone was born in a cupboard filled with food and lemons, and Princess Bubblegum didn't appear to be too frightening or sinister. It's very possible that Lemongrab flipped out because he was frightened of the environment he first saw after coming to, while the Lemongrab clone was not.
** During the scene where Finn and Jake found the catcher's mitts and found the Pup Gang, and got electrocuted by Lemongrab, Princess Bubblegum could have been coddling the Lemongrab clone and calming him down before she instructed him to come to the Reconditioning Chamber Room.

* Blombo asks Lemongrab if he's crazy. Lemongrab screams and begins to say "yes," while walking up to a mirror. He looks at his own reflection and points at it, glaring at it disdainfully and screaming "MEEE!!!" And throughout the episode, Lemongrab keeps expressing a certain distaste for the way he is. If it was implied that he hates the way he is so ''much,'' then why did he and his clone get along so well? Logically, shouldn't they have hated each other? Wouldn't it make more sense for Lemongrab to have tried to "recondition" his own clone?
** It's possible Lemongrab only hates himself because he is so unlike everyone else.
** And the mirror image of Lemongrab is a reversed version of him. Once he can finally see himself as he is, rather than how he always saw himself, he can accept that.

* Lemongrab hates being touched, yet he and his clone submitted to the other poking them all over their body. Why didn't Lemongrab or his clone start freaking out at the first poke?
** They seemed pretty curious about each other. And it was basically Lemongrab poking himself. It was anyone ''else'' besides the other Lemongrab, he would have gotten pissed.
** The Aesop of the episode was literally learning to love yourself. Once he saw himself from an outside perspective and he wasn't so bad, he calmed down from being batshit insane.

* Why doesn't anyone call PB on her MadScientist tendencies? I mean, you'd think someone would point out that her experiments caused/created a ZombieApocalypse, a JerkAss KarmaHoudini lemon man, and a immortal psychic sphinx who all nearly destroyed the Candy Kingdom.
** Because she usually tries to fix her mistakes. Lemongrab... turned out "[[TheMentallyDisturbed special.]]" She knew he didn't get along with others, (and he knew this, too,) so she sent him to Castle Lemongrab. Lemongrab didn't really destroy anything- his reign over the Candy Kingdom was complete shit, but no harm was really done, and PB sent him away again. Goliad turned out ''FINE.'' However, Princess Bubblegum was too exhausted to keep an eye on Goliad's early development, and while she rested, Jake accidentally corrupted Goliad. Princess Bubblegum tried to help Goliad, but Goliad turned on her. PB neutralized that situation. When Lemongrab went batshit crazy from lonliness and isolation, she made him a best friend so he wouldn't be lonely. Lemongrab stopped his dickbuttery, and now looks forward to hanging out with Princess Bubblegum again. It seems as if Princess Bubblegum's experiments fail not because she's insane, but because she doesn't handle them well emotionally. When she isolated Lemongrab instead of making him a friend, he went crazy. When she left Goliad in the hands of Jake, Goliad became corrupted.
** As for the zombies, you have some point, but the first situation was relatively easily resolved after PB perfected her formula. The second outbreak was entirely Cinnamon Bun's fault. Even then, she did have the formula to reverse it as well as an assistant capable of following her instructions ready. It's just that she was bitten before she could finish explaining herself.
*** As for no one calling her on it, we don't know that. Marceline was mad at her about something, after all, and she's constantly seen working with Cinnamon Bun, who has unquestionably gotten dimmer over the course of the series. And after the episode with her trying to stop Finn and Flame Princess from dating, Jake and Finn might have something to say about her tendancy to put [[SealedEvilInACan dangerous things in a can]] than actually coming up with an actual solution.
*** Before you give PB too much flak for her various failures, consider the kind of things that the candy kingdom is threatened by on a regular basis. She doesn't want to just kill everyone she deems a threat (though it's been shown she's willing to) and yet she doesn't want to be too soft and get her people destroyed because she made a mistake. All these factors make it understandable that she would make some mistakes along the line. She's probably handled plenty of big threats to the kingdom quickly and efficiently, but we don't know about those because she's had to solve so many she doesn't consider it noteworthy anymore.
*** Maybe because the people of Ooo don't know the difference between a good scientist and a mad scientist, because she is the only scientist, thus, no ethical standard to hold her up to besides herself.

* "The New Frontier" had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bit where Finn lights a fire without matches or flint (possibly by magic or some psychic trick). So where the heck did that go when they tried to make a fire in "The Hard Easy"? Was it a one-time-only deal? Does the ability come and go depending on who's writing the episode? Did he just forget he could do it?
** I was wondering this too, and I think the likeliest explanation is that he simply forgot. Considering he often forgets how the sun works it's not hard to believe he forgot he can make fire by just rubbing his hands together.
*** Upon rewatching, I believe this is indeed the likeliest explanation. The scene begins with Jake asking if Finn remembers how to make fire by rubbing two sticks together. It's possible Finn fixated on this idea, to the exclusion of other viable options. Incidentally, this type of hyperfocus is common behavior among people with undiagnosed/untreated ADHD, which also fits Finn's established character.
** Maybe off-screen, a wizard gave Finn the power to create fire when he needed one, but it was a one-time thing- like the magic bottles in "The Duke" or the Power Rings in "My Two Favorite People." Perhaps there was some omitted storyboard that explained it, but it was cut for time, and Finn's strange fire scene was left in.

* Why was Princess Bubblegum not wearing her crown? She's ALWAYS wearing it. Not only is it a valuable sign of her status as the princess of the kingdom, it protects her from the Lich's mind-control. We've seen her wearing her crown with a number of different hairstyles. So why was "You Made Me!" so different?
** She had it wrapped up in her braid, maybe?
** The Lich is, to her knowledge, dead. Now she only wears the crown as a symbol of royalty.
* Where did the Duke of Nuts disappear to after season 1?
** The Kingdom of Nuts!
*** Nah he went to the [[PutOnABus bus kingdom]].
*** What I want to know is what happened to the Jake hating red squirrel from that same episode. He was an epic nemesis.
*** He comes back in season 5...

* How did PB know that [[spoiler: Billy was possessed by the Lich]] after seeing him for like half a second?
** It appears that she and the other residents of the Candy Kingdom are designed to sense the Lich's presence.
*** The Gumball Guardians specifically seem to possess some form of evil-sensing ability; presumably, they tipped her off.
*** Peppermint Butler was also able to sense the fact that PB was possessed by the Lich in Mortal Folly/Mortal Recoil.
** Considering she knows more about the Lich than Finn, as well as the fact that she was previously possessed by him, PB would probably be one of the best experts on the subject.
** Perhaps she knew the power of the Enchiridion + the Jewels of Power, and figured the Lich would be the only one who both knew the power and would want to use it.
*** Yeah, why else would Finn try to take her crown jewel without asking? He can talk to her about almost anything, and she's generally very generous.
*** He did ask her, but she was like "Uh, no".
*** Probably because he broke into her room unexpectedly to demand the magical jewel inside her symbol of royal authority (something ''not'' given lightly) without any explanation and immediately started grabbing for it when she did not comply. Even if she didn't know about the Lich, as her lack of preparation suggests, she was acting reasonably. Finn was so blinded by his hero worship that he didn't seem to realize how crazy he was acting.

* The one thing I am truly curious about is where the gumball guardian went after it blasted the lich in the face? When the view pans back to princess bubble gum and the castle after Fins mental struggle with the lich, the gumball guardian has vanished.
** It was probably an animation oversight and/or for plot convenience. The story wouldn't be the same if the Guardian had blasted the Lich to dust before he could start playing mind-games.
** Or perhaps the gumball guardian can't leave the walls of the Candy Kingdom, so there wasn't much it could do. Plus, the blast seem to inconvenience the Lich more than actually hurt him.

* The idea that the Lich caused the Mushroom War seems pretty ubiquitous among the fandom, even after the leak of the season five premiere. But doesn't the fact that the bomb still existed and was still about to impact even in the universe where the Lich never existed Joss that for good?
** Pretty much. The episodes seem to make it pretty clear that the Lich was born at the epicenter of the bomb's explosion. Unless of course he had himself stuffed into the bomb beforehand.

* Okay so do Finn and Jake techically still each have a wish from Prismo because the only reason they used them was because the Lich wished for omnicide, but Jake wished that the Lich wished that they went home instead. Also where did the Lich go after Jake made his wish? Is he traped in the time room with Prismo or something?
** Finn might or might not, but Jake seems to remember everything about Prismo so his wish definitely counts. As for the Lich, he's either been sent back to Ooo or is trapped in the time cube dimension without any easy way back.

* Why didn't the Lich try harder to kill or lose Finn and Jake when he used the portal? He had to know about Prismo or he wouldn't bother with the plan to begin with, so why did he risk letting two potential wishes be used against him? Did he not know they'd be protected from his wish in the Time Cube?
** He had a pretty good lead on them. He probably assumed his wish would have taken effect before they could make it to the time cube. He obviously didn't see them enter the cube behind him, and didn't realize they were there til his wish had been rewritten

* If the City of Thieves succeed on making Finn himself a thief, WHAT's exact reason city does that? Heck, the only other incident I remember where that happened is the Nightosphere, where amulet's evil was so powerful that even Finn got corrupted ([[Fridge/AdventureTime implying that amulet is a]] '''[[Fridge/AdventureTime FUCKING SATAN]]''').
** Not everything has to be magic mind control. Sometimes a place so dirty that there are no good guys around can drive somebody to do something wrong without realizing it. Especially when you're being manipulated by somebody else to do said wrong thing on their behalf.

* A weird meta-thing occurred to me recently. Creator/JohnDiMaggio is a skilled beatboxer. Yet Jake hardly ever demonstrates that skill. In the early episodes, sure, but in later ones, it's almost the opposite: everyone ''but'' Jake will bust out a rhyme at the drop of a hat. In "Jake the Dog," with Jake, Prismo, and the Comic Owl all freestyling together, why is the character played by a real-life beatboxer the only one ''not'' beatboxing? Is this some kind of In-Joke among the writers and actors?
** Watch the scene again, after Jake finishes his rap, he starts beatboxing as well.

* Did Ice King!Finn cease to exist after Jake's wish? ...Does the fact that only Jake remembers have any relevance at all to this? Jake remembers because he went back in time, so did Finn not go back with him? Is the original Finn still trapped in the alternate world with the crown?
** It's the multiverse. All things are true in one universe or another. As for the other questions, I have no idea.
** Jake wished that the Lich's wish was changed. Therefore, Jake reversed in time, Finn didn't. Finn can't be trapped in an alternate world with the crown, as Finn would never have made a wish in this timeline. And that's not even getting into the complicated stuff.
** Actually, Jake was the only one to go back. The Finn that made the wish is still in the Farmworld universe, going crazy with the crown and fighting off that universe's Lich. The Finn we see with Jake after his wish is made is not the original Finn but still the same Finn we know. In other words, the only people in Adventure Time that are the ''originals'' from their first appearances are... Jake and Prismo. Does that make sense?
** I'm not sure. There are two different concepts both called 'multiverse', short for multiple-universes. One is the current theory in quantum physics that our timeline-universe is connected to many others where all physically possible things happen in one timeline or another. The other idea, as Booko described in The Lich, other regions of reality (called dimensions) simply have different laws (of physics). I think for the sake of story continuity (and intuition), we can assume that each of the universes follow a single continuous timeline, except for the timeroom which exists outside of time. Since Booko says that portals create a 'temporal synchronization', we also know that each universe's timeline is normally independent of other universes. However since the powers of Prismo seem to be boundless, I think the answer about IK!Finn's continuity is whichever answer makes a better story.
** This troper was actually very curious about this questions, so he got WordOfSaintPaul on the question from Andy Ristaino. According to him, Farmworld was negated. http://www.formspring.me/skronked/q/435101675615714944
*** Also remember that this eposide revealed the existence of TheMultiverse-you know, that thing of which ''every concievable universe EXISTS?!'' The universe that WesternAnimation/AdventureTime took place never became the Farmworld, but there would logically be a parallel universe where the events of Farmworld happened as the natural chain of events(course the concept of TheMultiverse means [[FridgeHorror there's countless alternate Liches out there]]).

* Finn's wish was for the Lich to have never existed. That's all well and good, but the Lich then comes to life when Finn accidentally triggers the bomb. Why is he existing even though Finn's wish was for the Lich to not exist? Having your wish backfire is one thing but Finn's wish wasn't even fulfilled.
** Technically, it was. ''The'' Lich, the one that wished for the extinction of all life, never came into existence. If "Jake the Dog" is anything to go by, The Lich was just someone unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Farmworld!Lich was an entirely different life-form, and so if anything The Lich comes off as an inevitability, something that always ''must'' and ''will'' happen.
** It's implied that the Lich was created by the Mushroom War. In the alternate universe, Simon managed to stop the nuclear bomb that would've created him. When that bomb finally went off and someone fell into the pool of waste (in this case, Farmworld!Jake) this universe's Lich was created.
** The implication was that the 'ironic twist' of the wish was that the Lich never existed...''up until now''.

* Why did Jake remember the "previous" reality after he made his wish, but Finn didn't?
** It may be implying that he was simply sent back in time, and then the Lich's wish was changed. And so Finn would have no memory of any of it ever happening. And yes, it does leave the implication that the original Finn is still trapped in the alternate universe as it's Ice King.
** What I meant was: Why doesn't Farmwold Finn remember the reality from before he made his wish, but Jake remembers his time with Prismo?
*** Same reason the guy inside the time machine remembers the changes, but the guy outside the time machine doesn't. When Jake made his wish, it reset the timeline, which included Finn.
*** But when ''Finn'' made ''his'' wish, ''he'' didn't remember the old reality where he made the wish.
*** A gift from Prismo, I guess. Jake became friends with him, and wiping his memory would just be counter-productive.

* When the Lich wishes for "the extinction of all life", the reason why Prismo, Finn and Jake managed to survive is because his wish doesn't affect the Time Room they're in. But Jake's wish affected the Lich ''while he was in the Time Room!''
** The Lich's wish was more of a time-relative wish. It was a wish to get rid of all life, so his wish would include himself, since the wisher is automatically teleported to their new timeline, and all the life that existed at the time during his wish minus the life in time room(and the Cosmic Owl?). The wish Jake made was person-relative not time-relative. Also, The Lich his wish was focusing on was his Lich, not any other Lich existing in any other time frame in any version of any world. If that makes any sense. Plus, his wish did not technically rewrite time, it reversed it by reversing his wish.

* Sort of a quibble, but should the Crown have affected Farmworld!Finn at all? He was wearing his bear hat, so it never touched his head, or even his hair.
** Why should an incredibly powerful magical item care if it's current wearer has a thin cloth between them? It also brings me great joy to say this, as it is one of the few times this actually applies...It's magic.

* The Lemongrabs have the mental maturity and capacity of eight year olds. And now they're fathers. They have over twenty children! How are we supposed to expect that they are capable of raising and caring for so many babies, even though they can barely wipe their own asses and keep their own heads on straight? Just because they love their kids doesn't mean that they're mentally fit to be dads.
** Of course the Lemongrabs aren't qualified to be responsible for anyone. They were supposed to be taken care of/contained in their land. Unfortunately, they got their hands on a formula they shouldn't have and made a legion of freakish lemon-creatures in their own image. It never should have happened, but they exist now so PB has to figure out a better way to babysit the new Lemon Court.

* What did Princess Bubblegum mean when she said "their hearts are fine, they're just like this?" ARE their hearts really fully awakened and able to feel compassion? Or does she want to wait for the Lemongrabs to discover this on their own?
** She meant that the cause of their psychological issues isn't their physical hearts malfunctioning. Whatever's wrong with them is not something she can just reach in and fix.

* Why on earth were the Lemongrabs so apathetic to the fact that THEIR SON EXPLODED?! Their "young Lemonjon," their child, is dead now! And they calmly sat in a pile of the guy's exploded remains! Are they really as bad as the Ice King when it comes to being unempathetic?
** The Lemongrabs operate on BlueAndOrangeMorality. It's not that they don't feel what they "should", it's that their emotions and reactions run on a completely different grid than most peoples'.

* Did Seed-Wad only puke because the earls poured too much of the formula on him, and was he just getting rid of the excess formula? Or does he have some kind of illness? Hopefully it won't be a regular thing, then! Poor little guy!
** It's a mass of candy seeds mashed together and brought to life on a whim by a pair of insane man-children. Of course it's not alright.

* What did the Lemongrabs mean when they said, "We warned you! We warned you about us!" Was this supposed to just be a non-sequitor for the purpose of strangeness or humor? Or was it indicating a certain amount of self-awareness? At what point did either of the Lemongrabs warn anyone about their dangerous nature? And why Finn?
** They were blaming Finn and Jake for letting them start their rampage. The Earls of Lemongrab are such manchildren that they'll cast blame on anyone but themselves when either something goes wrong or they do something wrong. Just like how they blamed PB earlier in the episode for their own experiments. They're too immature and unbalanced to take responsibility for their own actions.

* Did Princess Bubblegum leave behind the secret formula for creating candy life in ''general''? Or did she leave behind the slightly altered version of the formula which led to Lemongrab's developmental delays and the reason she initially called him a failed experiment? If the former, then why were all of the Lemongrabs's candy children so similar in mentality to the Lemongrabs? Odds are that the normal formula would have produced neurotypical and "normal" candy children and not shrieking, autistic-like candy children. Did the Lemongrabs do this intentionally? What would they have done if one of their children was a "normal" candy child like Crunchy, and not an eccentric lemon?
** In "Goliad," it's shown that introducing a tiny amount of [[MagicGenetics magic DNA]] into the formula can have a huge impact on the result, when adding a single hair from the heroic Finn into the same formula results in the heroic Stormo instead of the child-like and sociopathic Goliad. Presumably the Lemongrabs introduced a bit of themselves into every child so that they'd be more closely related. They are shown to prefer the company of other Lemons to "normal" candy citizens.
** Plop-Top or Dump-Dome?

* Terrible rulership skills and stupidity aside... If Lemongrab is still the heir to the Candy Kingdom Throne, or if both of the Lemongrabs are, then how could the rule the Candy Kingdom while still being good fathers to their many, MANY children, several of whom are infants? They have a whole castle full of very little kids to take care of, I don't think it would be possible for them to take the throne until their kids grew up. Because according to them, the little squirts get scared when they leave. Unless they took turns ruling the Candy Kingdom, but we all know how the earls react to being separated, as we saw in Mystery Dungeon...
** There's nothing stopping them from moving their children to the Candy Kingdom castle, is there? Other than having very, very little room to actually do so, but do you really think that is going to stop them?

* A recently-added section in FridgeBrilliance is about how everyone now knows that the Ice King is actually Simon Petrikov, and that it is because of the VHS-watching event from Holly Jolly Secrets, re-created every year, each time with a bigger audience. Then, A) We should verify that everyone who calls the Ice King as such has participated to this event, B) it's really strange that the Ice King isn't offended that everyone watches his videos, since he was so angry in Holly Jolly Secrets, and C) Why is Marceline one of those who come to watch the videos? Especially since it's painful for her to see Simon Petrikov in that state of madness... And ALL the videos except one show him doing silly thngs!
** A) They did. B) He's too insane to remember much of anything for long, and that includes grudges. C) She still cares about him, very much so in fact, even if it is painful. In fact, in recent episodes she is shown actively seeking his company and seems to value his friendship very much.

* In "The Lich", there's a map of the multiverse. When it zooms in, we see the solar system for a brief moment-but Earth/Ooo is shown as the ''second'' planet in the Solar System. Did the writers forget Mercury existed or something?
** Maybe the effects of TGMW, blow up Mercury?
** Mercury is freakin' tiny compared to Earth, Venus and Mars. Maybe they weren't scaled in enough for it to show up.
*** I like the idea of "Mushroom War did it" better-it gives more opportunity for stories.

* If the Earl of Lemongrab was the result of a failed science experiment.... where the hell, in the genderswapped universe, did Lady Lemongrab come from?!
** ...A failed science or baking experiment, most likely. Is there something against this explanation that I missed?
*** It's a fanfic written by the Ice King: in-universe MST3KMantra. Alternatively, Ice King wasn't able how to figure out how to fit Candy People in a baking genius' kingdom, so he couldn't figure it out. Either way, blame the Ice King on this plothole.

* That's what, three alternate versions of Finn now? Fionna, Finn the Ice King, and now Pillow Father Finn? Why are the creators so obsessed with making alternate version of Finn? One of which may or may not have been real, one that does exist somewhere in the multiverse, and another that was the original Finn changed by his own wish. Is this...leading somewhere completely awesome and epic?
** None of them are real, though. Fionna is (in-universe, I mean) a made-up character, the reality that Farmworld Finn occupied technically never existed because of Jake's wish, and the Pillow Father Finn is a dream (so really, he's no more an alternate Finn than "longer-ears" Finn from King Worm). I mean, I suppose it could mean anything, but to me the most interesting part is [[http://i.imgur.com/V3dTX.png how many times]] [[http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121110001354/adventuretimewithfinnandjake/images/c/ce/S5_e1_laser_passing_through_Farmworld_Finn.PNG Finn has appeared]] [[http://images.wikia.com/adventuretimewithfinnandjake/images/8/8e/Puhoy4.jpg with an artificial right arm]], or [[http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130930000354/adventuretimewithfinnandjake/images/5/5a/Shoko.png NO arm, in the case of]] [[spoiler:Shoko, one of Finn's past lives, from "The Vault]]. My only guess is that at some point in Finn's future, he is destined to lose his right arm. It just happened sooner in the Farmworld timeline.
** Pillow Finn may not have been a dream, merely a case of YearInsideHourOutside (and, granted, random magic sending him back on death). But there's no real way to know, and Finn forgot it all in any case. The arm thing is partly a running joke stemming from a random gag in "Mortal Folly". [[AuthorAppeal There may or may not be more to it than that]].
*** "Random gags becoming serious plot points" is a recurring theme for this series, so...
*** Epic two-parter being foreshadowed? They've expanded on many seemingly-minor ideas before(the Mushroom War started out as a token mention in Season 1), introducing alternate Finns for a future story would be something the writers would do...

* What does "Puhoy" mean and why is it the title of the episode?
** It's the greeting used by the pillow people in place of "hello". It's pronounced "puh-HOY" (rhymes with "ahoy") in the episode, and the "p" sound is easy to miss if you're not listening for it.

* Why didn't the Lemon People try to eat each other? If Lemongrab apparently has no qualms abotu torturing people and eating the Ice King, why didn't the Lemon People ever resort to cannibalism to survive?
** Because they're family, and even the Lemongrabs [[EvenEvilHasStandards are not so depraved as to]] [[EatsBabies eat their own children]] (or allow their children to eat each other). [[spoiler: [[HarsherInHindsight Or at least, not then anyway...]]]]

* Nitpicking. If Lemongrab (and presumably Buttgrab, because he's a clone of Lemongrab) has photographic memory, why would they be arguing about Plop-Top/Dump-Dome's name in the first place? Surely they would have remembered what name they'd settled on together. It seemed a little "off" that Lemongrab said "I thought we said Dump-Dome."
** A) Any claims the Lemongrabs make about themselves and their abilities should be taken with a massive grain of salt. [[UnreliableNarrator Their perception of reality doesn't always line up with everyone else's]]. B) Bickering is pretty much part of the LG's genetic code. They may get along, but that doesn't mean they have to be always 100% in tune with each other.

* Just a thought. At the end of "You Made Me," was the Lemongrabs's desire to free the prisoners and dismiss everyone politely from their castle a result of ''somewhat'' being ''somewhat'' okay people? Or did they just want to shoo everyone out as soon as they could so they could spend time alone together, possibly doing [[AnatomicallyImpossibleSex intimate things]]? Is Lemongrab a little bit nicer (and if not this, simply less mean) than he used to be?
** In some cases, when someone's as mentally disturbed as Lemongrab (because let's face it, his brain is a bag of cats), their behavior can vary wildly based on slight changes in their environment. Lemongrab is fundamentally unable to take responsibility for himself and his actions; therefore, his good or bad behavior is greatly influenced by his environment. It's comparable to a small, tired child that throws a tantrum until presented with a favorite toy, then immediately settles down and goes to sleep.

* Why did the earls wait until they were ''starving'' to send Princess Bubblegum a message stating that they needed food? Why didn't they do this sooner- BEFORE they started dying?! Why did they wait so damn long?! Even ''that'' level of profound stupidity seems out of character. Has Lemongrab possibly been getting stupider as time passes? Is he being [[{{Flanderization}} flanderized]] into a bigger idiot than he used to be?
** See the above headscratcher. The Lemongrabs are reasonably intelligent, but they're so mentally and emotionally imbalanced that most of the time they're incapable of making rational decisions.
** Also, that lemon bird had to fly all the way to the Candy Castle from Castle Lemongrab to deliver that letter, and who knows how long that took?

* Going back to the subject of the Farmworld, was Big Destiny grooming Finn to be part of his gang? The members of his gang seem to rely on him for pretty much everything, and Big D. and his gang constantly let Finn go when he crossed them. Was the only thing keeping Finn from being asked to join the fact that he still had a family?
** The writers were probably trying to make him deceptively complex, to match the grittier nature of Farmworld. He didn't seem like he was grooming Finn for anything, merely that he stuck to his Darwinist philosophy. The latter half of the episode shows he respected Finn for being tough. So probably an aspect of BlueAndOrangeMorality.

* Did Finn and Jake ever give the earls of Lemongrab money so they could get their door fixed?! They broke down the door! ''The door is broken!'' They need to '''FIX THE DOOOR!!!'''
** Finn and Jake are ''loaded.'' They've got tons of gold lying around their castle. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that, after the events of "All Your Fault," they apologized and gave the earls money so they could get their door fixed. Finn and Jake are good guys.

* Can Princess Bubblegum take some of the lemon candy from "All Your Fault" and reassemble it to bring Lemonjon back to life (albeit a very tiny Lemonjon)? Why can't she do this?
** Not to sound callous, but is there any reason to do so?
** She brought everyone in the graveyard back to life in "Slumber Party Panic." Is there any reason for her to not bring back the son of her creations? If she has the ability to bring dead candy people back to life, why would she just let him stay permanently dead?
** When PB tries to bring back the dead, it tends to go horribly wrong. Considering that she almost brought about a ZombieApocalypse the last time, and considering the damage a creature Lemonjon's size could wreak, it's probably smarter just to leave him be.

* Braco claims to be the heir of his father to marry Princess Bubblegum. If it's implied Braco's father spent much of his life waiting to be Bubblegum's suitor, how was Braco even born?
** Perhaps Braco's father was a widower, hoping to make P-Bubs his second wife? Of course that then raises the question of why Braco wanted to marry his potential step-mother. It might be easier to assume he just budded asexually, like an amoeba.
** Or that he was in a relationship before falling for PB.

* How is Lemongrab able to survive now that his blood has, more or less, been entirely replaced with Tree Trunks's ''snot?!'' That doesn't seem too healthy.
** What episode are you talking about?
*** "Mystery Dungeon." The monster squeezed all of Lemongrab's juices out. Tree Trunks stuck her trunk into Lemongrab and blew, filling up his body with ''something''. Based on everyone's horrified reaction I'm pretty sure it was snot.
*** Assuming his physiology even remotely resembles current mammalian physiology, his body likely produces juice on its own and has since replenished itself. Tree Trunks, er, "contribution" would have been a stop-gap measure, akin to a saline drip.

* This has been puzzling me for a while, but now it's especially weird because the character is now a parent- how old is Lemongrab supposed to be? Mentally he seems to come across as being seven, emotionally he's a toddler, intellectually he's actually very smart (for ''any'' age,) and physically, (if his voice is a legitimate indication,) he seems to be an older teenager. But if both Lemongrabs are teenagers, doesn't that make the plot of "All Your Fault" especially strange, even [[UnfortunateImplications awkward]]? Two teenagers with twenty-something children? Also, if Princess Bubblegum has been 18 for several years, does that mean Lemongrab will be... bleventeen for a long time, too? Will Lemongrab ever grow up? What about his kids- will they always be toddlers?
** I think that he`s... about 2. He was introduced in season 3, so he`s probably 2.
*** He was introduced then, yes, but Bubblegum's reaction indicated that he'd been around for a long time. Further, the candy people (Bubblegum and Lemongrab included) don't relate to aging the way other beings in Ooo do -- their mental ages relate directly to the age *represented* by their current physical state. Bubblegum is "eighteen", mentally and physically, but she's been that way for years; if she wanted to get "older", she'd have to simulate the effects of aging on her physical body through artificial means, and her mental state would adjust to match. Much of Lemongrab's problem stems from the fact that he doesn't fit this pattern; he has the body of an adult, but the mind and maturity of a (severely unbalanced) child.

* Just curious about something petty. In "Too Young," Princess Bubblegum brought Lemongrab to life, and he responded to his first moments of being alive like a newborn baby would- screaming, flailing around in terror, crying out in fear. Given the fact that he is [[NervousWreck Lemongrab]], how the fuck did Princess Bubblegum manage to ''calm down'' the stupid bastard after this incident? What's her secret to pacifying a newborn, shrieking Lemongrab? (Seeing as how she's done this twice; once in "Too Young," and once in "You Made Me.") This might also be a dangerous task, seeing as how Lemongrab is not only bigger than her, but has very hard skin, and a newborn Lemongrab seemingly has little to no control over his limbs or body. If anyone could explain how the fuck she calmed down Lemongrab so quickly, that would be awesome, because I can't think of a way anyone could do that.
** Flee and observe from a remote location until he wears himself out?

* In the brain screenshot, one of the earl's thoughts reads "Mommy, don't make me eat more asparagus. It will be the end of me, if you know what I mean." What exactly happens to the guy if he eats asparagus? If it's a bad reaction of some kind, why didn't PB slip asparagus into his food during "Too Young?" Who knows? He might have shat himself and then fled in embarrassment, problem solved.
** Or maybe nothing at all would happen. Remember who we're dealing with, here.

* Why did Princess Bubblegum not put Lemongrab in the Candy Kingdom Mental Hospital?
** The hospital seem to be mostly for people who are actively dangerous to society, which she didn't find out Lemongrab was until "You Made Me". Or she just wanted to try dealing with it herself, or to forget about him altogether.

* What did Princess Bubblegum mean when she said "Their hearts are fine?" Surely she wasn't implying that the Lemongrabs are nice, selfless people.
** Maybe she meant their physical hearts.
*** Seconded. Lemonjohn had his "change of heart" after his ''physical'' heart was kick-started by Finn and Jake. Finn then questioned if the same technique would work with the 'Grabs; Bubblegum's answer confirms that their physical hearts are already pumping. "Fine", in this case, means "physically functioning within acceptable parameters".

* What's with Lemongrab's butt? Why does he only have one butt cheek? Where is his anus located? How does he poop?
** Who says he even needs to? His biology is completely different from a human's, he probably has some other way of excreting.
*** After all, in one episode we see his toilet... there's a LEMON JUICER installed in there!

* Little Dude was a dick, but then he died, and then when the Magi brought him back to life, he was nice. What if Finn killed the Lemongrabs and asked the Magi to resurrect them? Then they wouldn't be dicks anymore.
** That only works on things created by the Magi's magic.

* Were the Graybles canon? Because in one of them, Lemongrab 1 ate Lemongrab 2.
** Yes, but we don't see him chew ''or'' digest. It's possible Lemongrab 2 will just get back out of his mouth.
** They are at least somewhat canonical, since an incredibly fat, bloated Lemongrab 1 appears alongside a half-eaten, levitating-wheelchair-bound Lemongrab 2 in "Too Old".

* Princess Bubblegum pretty much alienated wizards as a whole in "Wizards Only, Fools." and didn't learn anything. This is apparently a good thing that she's functionally powerist, as well as derogatory towards a part of society in Ooo? Doesn't really seem good for children.
** I'd hardly call it any form of [[FantasticRacism racism]], but her insistence on denying magic as a force was strangely arbitrary given how weird Ooo already is. Moreso considering that she deals with magical phenomena all the time and never displayed anything close to animosity towards it before. Her suddenly becoming so stubborn and dismissive about it (to the point where she'd blow her cover and get her group thrown in jail over a pointless gesture) for this one episode leads me to blame poor writing and the old FlatEarthAtheist trope.
*** Yeah this is weird. Considering she's had experience with the magic realm plenty of times and the show is pretty set on continuity. Hell Science Wizard was banned from the Wizard competition because Science isn't magic. I mean maybe they could have ran with something on the whole "Magic is merely advanced science" because I love Arthur C Clarke's third law, but only if it works in a story and doesn't detract. So yeah bad writing.
*** Given the events of this episode, it can easily be assumed that Science Wizard is not actually a magic user, but someone who uses science to present himself as one. Hence, he would indeed be disqualified from the competition.
*** She wasn't denying the existence of the phenomena -- her objections were to the way the wizards presented it all as simply "it's MAGIC" and discouraged any investigation into how it actually worked. Sort of like if someone was trying to learn how light bulbs work and the electrician just answered "by science". Part of the point of the episode was that, in a world like Ooo where magic existed, magic WOULD be science and investigable scientifically, because science is the study of how the universe works.
*** That is actually a pretty interesting idea on this. Sadly it doesn't explain why she wouldn't say two words and rather be thrown in jail? Is that being seen as wrong? I may be wrong and I love the show but PB is a scientist, science is perfectly willing to admit "we're wrong" if it brings about new ideas and progress, Carl Sagan himself said that science is not cold and unfeeling, not stubborn. So why did PB seem like a bit of a jerk throughout the episode, she could have taken some of the magic stuff back and studied it easily had she not been so frustrated. Is it because Starchy and the Nurse refused to cooperate and she was just frustrated with the whole "magic" thing?
*** Probably, yes. She's usually more diplomatic than that, but she's also something of a know-it-all, and used to being the smartest person around (and acknowledged as such by everyone else). What she was being asked to do wasn't admitting that she was wrong after being proved wrong, which a scientist should indeed do, but to dishonestly deny her own opinions. You can make a pretty strong case that she should have just done it anyway (especially since it wasn't just her own life on the line), but that's a separate question from whether her position on the nature of magic is the correct one. In other words, it's possible for her to be factually in the right, but still being a jerk about it.
** She was asked only to say the words "wizards rule". A meaningless, childish phrase that proves or disproves nothing serious in exchange for amnesty. A diplomat couldn't ask for a better deal than this. Refusing for a tirade about nomenclature while disparaging the one factor that most everyone in the room considers the primary tenant of their identity is complete foolishness, especially for a diplomat.
** This troper always assumed it was because she was eighteen - stubborn, smart and she knows it, and thus was unwilling to admit to such a childish caveat, even if (diplomatically speaking) she ''knew'' that it ''was'' one.

* Why do Finn and Jake still treat the Ice King like dirt even when they discovered that he [[TragicVillain wasn't always an insane elderly man]]. Especially the fact that Simon told anyone who saw his videos to look after him, this kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
** Because he's still a sociopathic manchild who kidnaps princesses and causes trouble, even if it isn't out of overt malice. Finn and Jake may know who he used to be, but that doesn't change who he is now. Besides, if anything, they ''do'' treat him better than they used to; they tolerate his presence despite being annoying, they try to reason with him when possible instead of just beating him down, and even consider him a [[FriendlyEnemy friend]] of sorts.

* If Marceline is a vampire, how comes when she's shown with [[spoiler:Simon in her childhood]],she's outside without burning up?
** She wasn't a vampire then, just a half-demon, as can be seen by the lack of bite marks on her neck and her aging normally past the point of teenager in the Farmworld timeline. She got bit at some point, and still has the scar on the neck to prove it.

* In "Sky Witch", Bubblegum has to [[spoiler: Trade her favorite shirt]] for Hambo, since the titular Sky Witch purchased him from Ash. The problem is that Hambo was still stolen, since Ash took him without Marceline's permission. Therefore, she was still in possession of stolen property, and I can't see there not being laws against that in Ooo. Shouldn't they have just taken him back anyway?
** It's implied that Bubblegum wasn't aware that Hambo was stolen in the first place; she just knew Marceline was looking for it and that it was important to her. Moreover, she didn't seem to understand ''why'' Hambo was so important to Marceline until she encountered Maja herself (which was why Marceline had to lie to Bubblegum to get the princess to help her out in the first place). There was basically no way for Bubblegum to enact any sort of law if she wasn't aware that a crime had already taken place, so she did what she thought she had to get Hambo back for Marceline.
*** I dunno. The recipt said it was bought from Ash. Shouldn't PB have found it suspicious that Marceline's creep of an ex-boyfriend was the one that the witch bought it from? If she knew about Hambo, she has to have known about Ash.
*** PB didn't recognize Ash's name on the receipt. Do you really think that someone like Marceline is going to be so open that she'll tell someone about her former [[DomesticAbuse bastard boyfriend]] unless she absolutely has to.
*** No, I figured that she'd have known because they'd known each other for a long time, and unless Marceline kept her relationship with Ash a secret before the breakup, Bubblegum probably would know that her close friend Marceline had a boyfriend at one point named Ash. But either way, we're over-analyzing now. She didn't recognize the name, and Maja gets away with cheating Bubblegum.

* Why is Lemongrab [[spoiler: being so cruel and bullying to his younger brother]]? Because the [[spoiler: two were shown to have a loving, healthy relationship prior]], his [[spoiler: treatment of Lemongrab 2 seems]] out of character.
** Lemongrab is best understood as a person with moderate to severe mental illness. His behavior is barely consistent from moment to moment, let alone from day to day, and none of it is guaranteed to be rational by the standards of an average, healthy person.
*** Lemongrab has always been severely mentally ill. But this mentally ill once demonstrated a profound and very genuine adoration for his brother, his mother, and his children most of all. Mentally ill people IRL are capable of being loving parents, just like non-mentally ill people. Lemongrab's mental illness is no excuse for his horrific actions, seeing as how some of his children are '''worse''' than him mentally but are shown to be nice people. Lemongrab 2 is also "touched," but he is clearly a good person, too.
*** The point is that for someone like Lemongrab, erratic behavior is ''in'' character, not out of it.
** The last time we saw the Lemongrabs before "Too Old" was during [[spoiler: their fight in "Another More Five Sort Graybles"]]. You could say that was the first time they had an actual disagreement without anyone else there to intervene. You might remember that Lemongrab wants things HIS way ("You Made Me", "Mystery Dungeon", pretty much all of his episodes), and the only person who could, in PB's words, "be with him", was his clone. However, due to his lack of empathy, he loves him not as a separate person, but BECAUSE he is a clone, and he expects his clone not only to understand him, but also to think and act like him (and to an extent, he does, as seen in [[FinishingEachOthersSentences "All Your Fault"]]). Them fighting and the doll breaking showed Lemongrab this wasn't the case, and sees the event as a betrayal. From them on, it will only be '''his''' way:
--> '''Lemongrab''': [[spoiler: '''ONLY OOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!!!!''']]

* If "Too Old" had been a Season 1 episode, then Finn would have killed Lemongrab with his sword and then given all of the Lemon Children a pep talk. Why... Why did Finn and PB not even care about the lemon kids?!
** Finn was completely off his game this entire episode, barely able to acknowledge the situation beyond his desperate attempts to use PB as a rebound relationship. He's never been rational when matters of love are involved, so it makes sense that a messy breakup with Flame Princess could severely screw him up for a while. As for PB, one can only assume that she still considers Lemongrab to the official ruler of the Earldom despite devolving from mostly harmless mental illness to completely insane tyranny and stayed focused on bringing Lemonhope to a better place. The writers will probably (and hopefully) address the issue of what Lemongrab's become in a later episode. This one, for better or worse, seemed more concerned with putting Finn's crush on Bubblegum to bed.
** Additionally, PB was the only one of the two who showed concern for the state of the Lemon Kingdom, as well as Lemongrab himself, saying that it's getting worse. At least before she encountered and witnessed the earl's treatment of Lemonhope, where her focus turned to getting Hope out of there. So she ''did'' care, it's just that there's not much she could do about it while she was there (things got hectic pretty quick). As mentioned, the writers will probably have something in store for us regarding the Lemon Kingdom.
** Of ''course'' they care! From the beginning of the episode when they reach Lemongrab Castle(?) and see all of his 'subjects', you can tell that both PB and Finn are alarmed and a little horrified. They didn't know anything was wrong outside of normal-for-Lemongrab wackiness until a bit later, admittedly, but by then they were stuck between a rock and a hard place - about the only kid they could have snatched and gotten away with was, coincidentally, the one they found in a solitary room, away from the Lemongrabs' line-of-sight. Hopefully, the show will give us some more info on the other Lemon-children.

* I'm confused about how the episode "Too Old" came about. It used to mention under the "Base Breaker" entry that while Lemongrab was divisive even to the staff of the show, most of them thought positively of him overall. If that's the case, then what inspired them to write an episode where any possibility of sympathizing with him is destroyed forever? Even if the person who wrote the episode wasn't one of his fans, I find it odd that none of the other staff on the show would've objected to it.
** I've got no insider info or anything, but I'd assume that when they decide to pick up that plot thread again, they'll answer this question once they do. They may be planning to redeem Lemongrab over the course of this "Lemonhope" arc, but who knows. Lemongrab was originally intentionally written as a villain in his first appearance, but after that aired, fans took a liking to him, and ''then'' it was revealed that some of the staff took a liking to him as well. Either way, just because a portion of the staff like him doesn't mean they always have a say in how he's written; they may like him more this way, don't work in a position where they can provide substantial input in how he's written, or have simply changed their opinions of him and no longer wish for him to be seen as sympathetic. It's all up in the air. There are also fans who like this new vile fat Lemongrab more than ever, for various reasons, but Grab has always been a BaseBreakingCharacter, so this is expected.

* I've heard a lot of conflicting reports that Finn and Flame Princess' breakup is a permanent thing. Her feelings for Finn were leveling just on the edge between extreme loyalty and OneTrueLove territory with all the buildup and affection and none of the fated hoopla that likes to infect it. Her first endearing physical gesture with Finn rewrote her fate and the destruction of Ooo. In the ''very episode they broke up'', she made a living heart symbol with arrow just for him. Unless her priorities have been severely messed up since their breakup, I seriously doubt she doesn't care deeply about Finn anymore. I get why she's so problematic with lying and being hurt by deception, but we cannot ignore the profundity of her feelings for Finn and the actions she has taken for their affection. They're still friends, sure, but that doesn't make sense with the degree of interest she showed in him. It goes against character.

* Was Betty the worse fiance ever or what? She left ice king after he put on the crown once, yet marceline experienced far more of his insanity and never left.
** That's not a fair comparison from any angle. Marceline sticks by Simon the same way someone sticks by a parent who's declining from dementia. Calling off an engagement because the other party had a psychotic break isn't remotely the same thing. You can't expect Betty to stick around for the sake of memories that haven't been created yet.
** Well she clearly didn't love him one bit. Simon deserved better.
*** We don't know what Simon did or said after he put that crown on. He very well could've done something so bad that leaving him was totally justified. And I do agree that it's not fair to compare Marceline and Betty. Marceline was a little kid wandering in a post-apocalyptic world. Even if he said or did things that were really horrible, leaving him was never an option for Marceline. She ''had'' to stay with him, since as a little kid, she wouldn't have survived and over time a strong bond developed. (but also note that Marceline ''did'' leave him after a while. We see in "I Remember You" that she would run all over Ooo to avoid him) Betty, meanwhile, was his fiance, and we don't know how long they had been together before he put the crown on. Just because someone loves someone else, doesn't mean that the love can last forever or that it's unconditional. If crown-wearing Simon said or did something that would constitute abuse, making him totally different from the man Betty fell in love with, that would be reason to leave. This is supported that when Simon first put the crown on, he wasn't aware that it induced madness and thus never could've made an effort to resist the effects. Any time after that, he tried his hardest to keep himself sane with or without the crown on his head, especially when Marceline was around.
** And it's now been shown in "Betty" that she left Simon for [[spoiler:Simon. In the future, through the gateway he created to say goodbye.]]
* Lemongrab has apparently been hoarding almost all of the castle's food to himself, hence why he is morbidly obese and why Lemongrab 2 is severely underweight and malnourished. We also see that Lemongrab doesn't feed his children a lot of food. If this is the case, why are all of Lemongrab's presumably starving children so fat?
** Because they're weirdly molded infants made from candy. And it's cute for them to look like round little bally things, like infants.
** Well, the entire reason why Lemongrab 2 lacks his lower body and part of his face is because of the fight he had with Lemongrab in "Another More Five Short Graybles", where they have their first real disagreement (with no one else watching) and ends up with the doll breaking; it makes sense Lemongrab would give his clone an especially awful treatment for what he sees as betrayal. Also, we saw that Lemongrab 2 gave some of his own food to one of his children after Lemongrab stole his (the son's) food. [[TearJerker Maybe this isn't the first time this has happened]].

* What is with the demonization of Princess Bubblegum anyway? I get that she's far from being a paragon of good morals over a lot of areas, but the sheer amount of vitriol thrown at her (seriously, just look at the FridgeHorror page, especially anything regarding Lemongrab) would almost make someone who never saw the show think she was the real villain of the series.
** She's not a villain, but her playing god has caused more than a few problems that usually Finn and Jake have to fix, or at least take the hits for her while she works safely in her lab to create a fix. She also shows a lot of apathy for a ruler. While she cares about her subjects, she doesn't seem to care enough to pay attention to them when she's working on creating something. She also attacked her mentally challenged child in Lemongrab's debut episode, which ''could'' be blamed on her age change, but to some, she didn't seem to mentally change that much in the episode. She used Brocco for research at first, but to be fair, later at least sort of helped him. She's an annoyingly outspoken FlatEarthAtheist in ''Wizards Only'', and gave away the freedom of three others and herself just so she could tell anyone who believed in magic that they're idiots. In the episode ''Earth and Water'', She is shown to care more about her wasted time than the life of Flame Princess, who she would neutralize rather than help. Plus, in ''Ricardio the Heart Guy'', she has a skeleton chained to a wall in a secret chamber, so she may well kill prisoners, which doesn't sit well with most people.
** Basically, she's shown some flaws, doesn't coddle a character that some people perceive as a "realistic" mentally disturbed person who really was created as a villain, and gets doesn't bend easily to shipping, so certain very [[VocalMinority loud]] fans can and will demonize her. That and some fans of this show just take things too seriously. The various pages could use some clean up given the very odd criteria some had for what qualifies as sad/heartwarming/terrifying/awesome that often includes things that just didn't happen.
** Too be honest, while PB does have her downs, she does get unfairly demonized (usually for the reasons shown above). The problem is that once a generally well-liked character (in and out-universe) does something morally suggestive, the fans will immediately jump. It would be understandable if it weren't for the many, MANY times she's proved herself to outweigh her negatives. If you think about it, she really only had about a few "bad" episodes in opposition to the dozens of episodes featuring her wherein which she either fixes a problem or shows strong care for her citizens. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that once a character does something normally outside his/her usual morality or personality, the fans will react immediately and it'll take a lot for it to be resolved. It's all about how people make mountains out of molehills and only contemplate what they want to contemplate. I'm not saying PB is a perfect character, but she is definitely much better than what people make her out to be over a few episodes where she had questionable character and even then, it's usually justified in some way.
** The reason PB gets so much hatred these days is that she was once pretty unambiguously good (if a little crazy) and was more recently shown to have done some very questionable things. Her incompetent handling of the Lemongrab situation didn't sit well with many people, her execution of the Rattleballs was pretty over the line, she pointlessly invites conflict in "apple wedding" and "wizards only, fools", etc. A character that was assumed to be a paragon of lawful goodness has been shown to be a more lawful neutral (or Knight Templar lawful good) Pragmatic Hero. Essentially, her moral compass revolves around the Candy Kingdom, and it's well-being overrides any other moral factors for her, even if she does feel bad about it. Her fatal flaws are her devotion to her kingdom, and her pride, things that weren't so visible in older seasons. People have taken her occasional moral failings and flaws to be signs that she is simply Evil, rather than flawed.
*** This. PB has the same problem Marceline has: To paraphrase, Bubblegum "isn't mean, she's just 800 years old and sometimes she loses track of her moral code". The difference in fan reaction is that their presentation is opposite. Marceline pretends to be dark and cruel but actually she's fun and kind of sentimental. PB projects the image of being sweetness and light, but she's only 200 years younger than Marceline and can act just as, if not more jaded than the vampire. You could also make a pretty good case that PB is technically a GodEmperor, as a nigh-immortal creator of an entire race - and those don't tend to stay entirely sane, even if they're good.

* What's with so many of the lemon people wearing women's clothing now? Apparently they are all referred to as "boys" and "lemonbrothers." Does the Lemon Castle now suddenly have a population of female lemon critters? Or are all of them drag queens?
** They're [[CloudCuckoolander Lemon People.]]

* So in "Earth and Fire", we have a flashback to 15 years ago where a baby Flame Princess in running around unsupervised and causing destruction. She's found by Princess Bubblegum...who's STILL 18!? This was a flashback to 15 YEARS AGO? Shouldn't PB be like 3 or something? I know that when her hair was cut at the end of "Mortal Recoil" she got younger but that just begs the question, how does she age then? And how old is she 'technically'?
** The haircut didn't cause the age down; it was the other way around. She aged down because she literally went from an 18-year-old body to a 13-year-old body, and that just happened to include shorter hair. Peeble's "age" is determined by her physical state, which can be altered at will. At this point it's safe to assume she's pretty well immortal.
** According to ''The Suitor'', some of her suitors have been waiting for over 300 years. I think 18 is the age she perceives herself as, while her actual age may stretch back to the fallout of the Mushroom War, if that strange gooey face was actually her in ''Simon and Marcy''.
** As far as anybody can tell, accounting for Too Young, she perceives herself based on her physical age rather than her chronological age. She has the body and mind of an 18-year-old, but she's likely centuries old.
** "The Vault" shows that PB built the Candy Kingdom and the Gumball Guardians. Also, it's heavily implied she existed in some form ever since the end of the Great Mushroom War.
** Confirmed in-show she's ancient. I thought by last season it was fairly obvious, but The Vault was where Finn confirmed it (and was surprisingly non-plussed by it. I thought that was the nail in the coffin for the PB/Finn ship, and Finn would be officially done, but, cue four episodes later...)

* "Earth & Water": Finn & Jake react to finding Ice King in their home like he's still a bad guy. ...Why? When's the last time he's even done anything evil? VillainDecay has reduced him to a crazy old man who talks to his penguins.
** They know this. Their reaction to him was due to the fact that he was in their home (without them knowing) in the first place, which, crazy or not, isn't something that's tolerated by them, especially since he's broken into their house before. After he explained why he was there, they calmed down a bit (particularly Finn, who felt appropriately responsible).

* If Shoko was [[spoiler:Finn's past life]], how was she able to haunt him as a ghost? Ghosts in WesternAnimation/AdventureTime are the typical "lost soul", but if [[spoiler:Finn is her reincarnation]], wouldn't that mean she's passed on to her new bod?
** Shoko [[spoiler:couldn't be seen by anyone but Finn. It's likely that some part of him remembered her.]]

* In "Goliad," Princess Bubblegum created the titular candy sphinx to rule the kingdom if anything happens to PB, but Goliad turns out to be a sociopath. So PB creates Stormo, a candy sphinx spliced with Finn's DNA, who sacrifices himself to keep Goliad in check. And then... the episode just ends. Why wouldn't PB create another Stormo now that she's perfected the candy sphinx recipe and can make one that won't turn out to be a Jerkass? Besides needing an heir, having a badass super-psychic sphinx around could be pretty useful when you're fighting off liches and zombies and whatnot every other week.
** Given how powerful and easily corrupted Goliad was, would ''you'' try to create another one if even the slightest risk of this happening again exists? Since both of her previous attempts to create an heir went so catastrophically wrong, PB seems to have put the issue on hold for now. At least until she can find a less risky method of doing so.

* "Dungeon Train" comes across as a pretty heartless way to claim that players of escapism are trying to pull themselves to enjoyment. That's not always true, and there's nothing wrong for an adventurer in Ooo to do this-adventuring is viable as a profession in Ooo. Why annoy your game-playing audience? It's like Jake would rather do dishes than adventure, if the Future Crystal has anything to say about it.
** While it does seem pretty heartless, let's not forget the number of [[ThereAreNoTherapists therapists and psychiatrists]] present in the show are pretty much none. Maybe Jake was just worried that Finn was too focused on the train that he would never want to leave because it seemed to actually make people addicted to it, let's not forget the bosses seemed to scream in pain a they died, former adventurers. As exampled by the future crystal. But I don't know so I could very well be wrong.
** Escapism is one thing, but this train is a whole other story. Finn was becoming addicted to pointlessly circling the repetitive, dangerous environments of this place. This wasn't like being addicted to the Internet or a videogame, this was a real magical location that was discovered to have claimed more than one adventurer in the past. Jake ''should'' have absolutely been worried about Finn. Especially after showing Finn his potential future and being ignored. How is it cruel to try to convince him to leave this place when the danger is very much real? I see how this can be seen as an anti-escapism message, but Finn's behavior was extremely unhealthy in this episode and Jake only showed absolute loyalty through it all. You shouldn't take the episode as a personal attack.
*** I'm focusing on the message more than anything else. If we're being fair, what else should Finn have done, given the resources and activities available to a 15-year-old boy in Ooo, to allow himself to feel better? He's an adventurer, plain and simple. He made mistakes that worked out better, but ultimately he was left emotionally raw. Jake has never experienced that kind of rejection in his lifetime, so he could barely understand what his brother needed at the time. Add to that the message of anti-escapism Jake presents, and there are quite a few UnfortunateImplications regarding escapism as a terrible way to deal with emotional blows, no? What more got to me was that Jake's idea of things getting better was stay home and cook. They're the current Heroes of Ooo after Billy was killed. not exactly the thing I'd focus on, if I was Jake.
*** Did you completely ignore the fact that the future orb showed Finn ''never'' leaving the train. He was aged into an old man, incapable of thinking of anything other than pointlessly fighting and collecting loot. Just like the other "bosses" that Finn and Jake killed? That wasn't just some paranoid fantasy of an overprotective parent, it was a vision from a magical artifact that was supported by their experience. Finn has every right to blow off some steam with some mindless fighting, but becoming so addicted to this one place that he slowly devolves into a shell of his former self is ''not'' okay. It wouldn't be even if the place wasn't actively trying to kill the boy. It's especially bad here because Finn was completely ignoring his duties as a hero for self-indulgence. Jake had every right to be worried after seeing that (while he was previously simply bored after hours of repetition, he got protective after the vision), but even then he was loyal enough to stay with Finn despite it all. If you call that "heartless", then you've got some skewed priorities. Jake wasn't happy because the final vision showed Finn helping him with chores. He was happy because it showed Finn would overcome this addiction and come back, even if it wasn't amazing fun.
*** Not to mention that the train and the escapism and fun it provided weren't stated to be all bad. Jake said he'd like to return. The bad part was Finn never wanting to leave.
** Must be a YMMV thing, because I read it as a pretty straightforward Aesop about not losing yourself in addictions (in this case it was an obvious MMO allegory, but it could just as easily have been any other GRatedDrug) to avoid dealing with your problems. It's telling that the moral wasn't "this train is evil, never ride it." Jake had fun with it for a while and even said he'd like to go back again sometime. It was Finn's total lack of moderation, being perfectly willing to ride the train ad nauseam for days and weeks and years, that was the problem.
*** Okay, but there's still the message at the end: That Jake sees being at home, cleaning and doing nothing adventurous-like going to the cave he originally found-as the most important thing for them to do at the time. He wanted nothing to do with Adventure Time, he wanted Stay Home And Be Passive Time. That certainly won't help Finn through his emotional issues; part of the appeal of the train was the action, the physical catharsis and different focus which made him feel better. Staying home and talking with Jake-which we have to admit is likely not the best person to give advice in this case-is not the best move when dealing with all the feels Finn has at the moment.
*** It was a two-second visual to establish that Finn would, in fact, go home and that things would get back to normal and wasn't just saying that to make Jake shut up and go away. A shot of them going on a different adventure not on the train would have been confusing because the audience would have had to squint real careful-like to figure out that the background wasn't a train car. It's not like they're never going to go adventuring again, but that shot establishes that Finn won't neglect the rest of his life to do nothing but that. You're reading way too much into it.
*** I took it as a poke at pointless dungeon crawls in RolePlayingGames given the heavy influence of ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'' on Adventure Time. Also the tendency of [=RPGs=] to reuse monsters just by making it a different color.
** TL;DR The message wasn't "X is inherently bad" but more "X can be bad if you become obsessed with it to the point that it interferes with all other aspects of your life".

* Why does Jake claim to hate cats in "The Box Prince" when he was just playing with cats in "Candy Streets"?
** "Cats know what they did." Maybe something happened offscreen to make him hate them?

* Is Finn being slightly colour-blind to the colour green just RuleOfFunny or is it serious?
** It was probably created just for the joke of this episode. It's never been mentioned before and may or may not be mentioned again.
*** I have my doubts. The show is pretty good at revisiting plot points like this. Has anyone gone back and checked past episodes for signs of his color blindness?
** What's really funny is that it's Jake, a ''dog'', who points out that Finn is color-blind. Presumably dogs in Ooo got over the whole color-blindness thing at around the same time they became bipedal and sentient, but still. Funny.
*** Assuming Jake has regular dog eyes, he'd still be able to tell the difference between green and red, though they would appear as varying shades of yellow and brown respectively. [[labelnote:*]] Dogs can see in color, and their visible spectrum is comparable to that of people suffering from red-green colorblindness [[/labelnote]]

* ...Since when is Shelby a priest?
** He was playing a priest in ''Heat Signature 2'', which explains the collar at least. As for why this qualifies him to bless grape juice, and why this Shelby-blessed juice is effective at harming a demon, well, err... RuleOfFunny?
** Since when did Ooo have Catholics? RuleOfFunny.

* In heat signatures why does Marceline claim that vampires cant defeat ghost despite kicking one of their brain sucking things a few seconds ago?
** Was the ghost defeated or simply moved?
** You can punch and kick someone all day long, but if they never actually go down...
*** Marceline doesn’t need to actually defeat the ghosts, she just needs to grab finn and jake and then fend off the ghosts attacks while she flies away, but instead she acts like finn and jake are doomed.

* In We Fixed a Truck, why does a diesel truck need spark plugs?
** Because MostWritersAreWriters giving us ArtMajorPhysics.
** My gearhead buddy was actually impressed with a lot of the detail they got right, but pointed out this one and a few minor placement issues in the engine block they had (mostly moved for plot convenience, he wagers, same as the sparkplugs). Also, its a 54/55 Chevy, for anyone wondering.

* If Marceline was half human half demon before she became a vampire, does that mean that now she’s half demon half vampire? or is she simply a vampire.
** Probably. Unless vampire blood is stronger than demon blood and somehow overwrote it, her human half was probably turned into a vampire half.
** We don't know that Marceline's mother was human, just that her father is a demon. Nor do we know whether vampirism in Ooo is a "disease" or a "race" or both. So all we know is that she's at least half demon and that she's been infected with vampirism. We know from Jake the Dog / Finn the Human that it's her vampirism that stops her from aging, but she's still immortal (but not ageless) as a demon non-vampire. Then again, her father (a full demon) doesn't seem to age, which would support her being half-demon half-something-mortal (most likely human). We don't know how much of the rest of her powers come from being part-demon, how much come from being a vampire, whether some come from some unique interaction between her demonic and vampiric powers, or whether she spent some of the last thousand years learning wizard magic, or what.
*** We do now. Marceline's mother was human.
** [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot She's a demon with vampire powers.]]

* Why have Finn and Jake never tried to help the ice king? they know that the crown caused Simon to go insane so you think they would try to find a way to lift the curse.
** For all his heroism, Finn's just a kid. He once spent ''days'' crying over his not-even-official girlfriend. And Jake really doesn't seem to care all that much about anything. Plus, the two of them are not the sharpest set in the drawer. Sure, they can beat up baddies easily enough, but they're nowhere near capable of tackling the Ice King's serious psychological issues.
*** I don’t expect Finn and Jake to actually lift the curse(or whatever it is), it just bugs me that chronic hero Finn never tried to help the ice king, plus you think most of ooo would gladly help if it means the ice king stops kidnapping their royalty.
** And as the crown is a dementia metaphor, it's insulting to the sadness/drama they've built up to have the solution be that easy.
** It WOULD make for an interesting story for them to try, though, all the more so considering that they'd be well-intentioned but almost certainly incompetent at it. The only thing I could think for them to do would be to snatch the crown off his head and hide it from him in the hopes that he'd get better without its constant influence. What would Simon do if he was separated from his crown with no obvious way to get it back? Would would ''the crown'' do if it were separated from a master it appears to have some loyalty? Chalk it up to Fanfic Bait, I guess.
*** I’ve actually considered writhing that fan fic.
** They don't LIKE The Ice King. Period. They may have some sympathy for him after watching the video, and grudgingly put him up out of guilt, but he's been nothing but a jerk and a pain in their neck since the show began. Why WOULD they go out of their way to help him?
** A better question is why Marceline hasn't been trying to help? Ice King was the closest thing she had to a father, and she has centuries to try and figure out what to do.
** Maybe she ''has'' and couldn't find anything that worked.
*** See "You Forgot your Floaties" and "King's Ransom". Betty Grof tried... and it cost her her ''own'' sanity. Also, while separated from his crown for a few hours, Ice King's face smoothed out to a more normal shape. However, as in "Betty", Simon will likely die within days if kept from the crown or it is somehow de-powered for too long.
** In Holly Jolly Secrets, Simon specifically asks people to look out for him while he tries to find his own way out of the labyrinth of his mind. Finn and Jake could have thought that ''Simon'' was the one who had to lift the "curse" since that's what he literally said.
* What the heck, PB!? Why'd she throw everyone in jail in "Apple Wedding"? I mean, yeah, she's kind of... ''out there'' at times but I don't remember her ever being that tyrannical.
** I agree, its especially odd if you compare it to her behavior in what have you done where she regrets unlawfully imprisoning the ice king despite having good reasons to do so, I’m guessing the king of ooo did something incredibly horrible or she’s becoming more amoral.
** Two things: first, the episode was supposed to air after "We Fixed A Truck" so she's just come off realizing the Candy Kingdom doesn't have much respect for her. Secondly, the King ''was'' a fraud, and suddenly everyone took his authority over hers. She wasn't right to do it, but you can understand where she's coming from.
*** Ooh, thanks for that. The idea of her becoming unhinged isn't really a stretch for me, but the timing (a friend's wedding) seemed a bit odd, until I read this.
** It wasn't supposed to be justified. It was just PB overreacting after having her authority questioned in favor of an exploitative fraud like the King of Ooo without being able to prove anything against him. When she calmed down, she ordered everyone out. It was supposed to be a joke playing off Tree Trunk's comment, not anything too serious.
* So was that just a random nightmare of Finn's, and not a strange premonition about what the grass sword was going to do to him? Or would it have eventually done that if he didn't accept it?
** I'm going to go with the second one, if only for the sole reason that it would be a pretty lame curse otherwise. (Though the guy who gave him the sword didn't seem like the brightest bulb, so, it's possible that being bound to the sword forever ''might have'' been the extent of the curse.) Maybe the magic that fuels the curse depends on the cursed person's mental/emotional state and his acceptance cancelled it out? [[WildMassGuessing That's my theory anyway.]]
*** Pretty sure that was what was implied. The curse only works if you think it's A Bad Thing. Finn thought it was actually pretty cool, and the grass sword became symbiotic with his acceptance. Had he continued to fight it, it would have consumed him. The guy who cursed him not handling people breaking Conventional Plot Tropes well might have also played into it.
** My issue is, why didn't they bother taking the sword to Princess Bubblegum? Sure, she's not the type to believe in magic or curses, but she's intelligent enough to have some inkling of how they work, and she probably would have been able to figure something out.
*** They probably would have if looking for the guy who cursed Finn didn't work out. But by the time they did find him Finn was cool with being CursedWithAwesome and stopped trying to get rid of the sword, hence no need to go to PB.
* What the absolute '''fuck''' went wrong with Lemongrab?! How did he go from being a mean-yet-still-halfway-decent [[BumblingDad family man]] and loving brother/loving father to being a child-torturing, domestic-abusing murderer?! "You Made Me" and "All Your Fault" implied that he had (somewhat) gotten his shit together and started being a more decent person, even starting a cute family, but what the fuck happened?!
** It's a cycle.
** My theory is that after he ate most of Lemongrab-2 it desensitized him torwards violence directed at his fellow Lemons. (Yes, he did torture those kids but he didn't show any of those types of tendencies torward Lemongrab-2 or the lemon-children.) So once he actually hurt one of them it took less to hurt them the next time they displeased him and then the next time it would be even easier and so on. So, basically, I think after the MoralEventHorizon of Eating Lemongrab-2 hurting his fellow Lemons [[ItGetsEasier got easier]] and he slowly started [[SlowlySlippingIntoEvil slipping into tyranny]] to the point where he put shock-collars on everyone and started taking food.
** Lemongrab is a terrible, horrible monster. But like many terrible people, he has occasional moments of not being horrible.
** Check out how they were playing with their Lemonsweets toy. Lemongrab 2 wanted him to stop dancing and go to bed, Lemongrab wanted him to keep dancing. Essentially, Lemongrab [[LackOfEmpathy doesn't actually care about Lemonsweets' well-being]], but rather [[ItsAllAboutMe Lemonsweets dancing for his entertainment.]] Essentially Lemongrab only cares about people who do what he want, and became a tyrant because he realized his Lemon people won't do whatever he wants. [[FridgeHorror He didn't find the candy people unacceptable because they didn't conform to his sense of morality, but simply didn't do what he wanted.]] In essence, Lemongrab was always a sociopath and any PetTheDog moment was simply because he got what he wanted.
* Why is it that the Lemongrabs referred to the lemon people as their children and "their boys," but in Too Old, Lemongrab 2 calls them his brothers? I always sort of assumed that the earls were like parents to the lemon people, not siblings.
** It may be as a symbol of solidarity with his children. LG-1 is acting as a tyrant and LG-2 is in the same boat as everyone else in the earldom. By saying "brothers", he's giving a last show of resistance to LG-1 and tries to give hope to his children.
* Why does Finn ruin his relationships? IMO he didn't have much of a chance with Peebles due to her needing to rule the Candy Kingdom and he botches his romance with FP in "Frost & Fire". He makes things weird in "The Red Throne" by acting like FP still likes him even though she doesn't.
** Because he's a teenage boy with more hormones than sense and absolutely no idea whatsoever what he's doing when it comes to romance and relationships. Its the most realistic thing about the show, hands down.
** And they're commenting on "Nice Guy Syndrome". His bitchery to FP arc started in "Reign Of Gunters" when he started reading "Mind Games", the mockery of PUA books.
** All of the above, plus he acts desperate and needy, so the harder he tries, the more he drives potential love interests away. His whole self-improvement kick ''could'' be attractive if it looked for an instant like he was actually doing it out of an honest desire to better himself, but the way he presents it, like an eager puppy dog begging for praise, displays a lack of self-confidence and undercuts his progress. Apparently Ooo's version of PUA lore leaves out an important part of real-world dating advice: that once you have well and definitively missed your mark, you ''move on'' to the next opportunity. Dogged nice-guy persistence only works in bad {{Rom Com}}s, but apparently Adventure Time, a freaking absurdist children's cartoon, is better at showing what that kind of behavior actually gets you than movies that are ostensibly about romance.
** Basically because Finn acts like a real human being (Making mistakes especially around girls around his age, he ''is'' a teenager) rather than a mutant or an adult. Finn really doesn't stand a chance at a relationship until he meets someone who doesn't put him either in the role of a knight who has little to no no emotional needs (Bubblegum), or a peasant who isn't worthy of their time (Flame Princess after ''Fire and Ice'').
*** Flame Princess never treats him like a "peasant" who isn't worthy of her time.
*** It's almost solely in ''The Red Throne'', but she does. It shows at first when she's clearly hesitant to ask him for help even when it could help her save her kingdom. Later on, she insists that her relationship with Finn is "just business", which means the whole, "we can still be friends" bit from ''Earth and Water'' was either complete BS or she changed her mind about it at some point. At any rate, it's clear she views Finn as at least somewhat beneath her.
*** Well that's [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation one way]] to read it. More charitably, perhaps she has an inkling what a bad place Finn is in and doesn't want to give him false hope that they're getting back together, considering that he very obviously considers "doing knight-type-stuff for a princess" to be Step 1 in "Operation: Get All Romantic With a Princess." She keeps him at arm's length because anything else would be giving him the wrong idea.
*** Wouldn't you be nervous about trusting someone again if the reason you broke up with him in the first place was that he lied to you solely because he wanted to have another wet dream?
*** I think it's less FP viewing Finn as an unworthy peasant because of their respective positions, and more due to the fact that she lost a ''lot'' of respect for him due to the whole "using her personal secrets to trick her into fighting the Ice King just because he he gets off on it" thing. Part of the reason that FP hooked up with Finn in the first place was because he was willing to put himself aside for her; he wanted to be with her even though her presence was physically painful. The events of "Frost and Fire" basically have him doing a 180; he tries to manipulate her into doing what ''he'' wants, even going so far as to use personal information she trusted him with against her. Given that she's kinda prone to massive mood swings, the idea that she might hold a grudge over him not being the person she thought he was isn't that odd.

* When does Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW! take place? Was this before or after Lemongrab started cannibalizing his brother?

* It has been several years in universe since the show began. Why is Marcy still insisting she's exactly "1000 years old?" Does she just round to the nearest decade or century?
** Maybe when you get that old, and you're mostly immortal beyond a few weaknesses that might kill you, birthdays have less meaning so she rounds things out.
** Because "I'm a 1003 years old" doesn't sound as good. Or maybe its a similar reasoning to ExactlyExtyYearsAgo
** PB, on the other hand, just uses her approximate biological age "18" from the beginning of the series and Finn never questioned it until "The Vault."
* Am I the only who is confused where Cinnamon Bun's color, and incredible sense of strength and ability came from in 'The Red Throne'? We've seen him not leave the Candy Kingdom and still at Bubblegum's wishes, but his ability to strike back against Flame Kingdom guards and actually put together coherent sentences doesn't make any sense. It's not like all that experimentation that PB did on him can be reversed. Also, compared to Finn, this level of forethought and ability comes right out of left field.
** He was getting baked in Fire Kingdom and Bubblegum did not make him stupid. His stupidity seemed more a result of that "Wall Accident" more than anything.
*** Yes, she did. It is made clear very early on in the first season that he can have a normal conversation with Finn and Jake, and then entered under PB's employ. He grew progressively less intelligent and less eloquent. There is certainly a reason who he dislikes Princess Bubblegum, and we already know she's used her own people for experimentation.
*** If we were meant to blame Bubblegum for his stupidity, I'm pretty sure we would have seen confirmation at some point.
*** CB had the flame shield, which was indicated by his blue color (that answers one of your questions). And we all know that the flame shield protects the user from heat. How could staying in the Fire Kingdom with a ''flame shield'' bake him?
*** He was there for a long time, and the last strong blast went right in his face.
*** Also, CB is an idiot. He probably forgot to renew the shield spell or something. When it wore off, he got fully baked, which made him smart enough to get it renewed.
* And Betty just left Simon. Again. With a new human now in Ooo, I should have hoped she might have decided to stay with the Ice King, helped him through his insanity? Is that too much to ask?
** Again the crown serves as a metaphor for dementia, Alzheimer's, etc. ThePowerOfLove doesn't work in situations like this.
** Remember the short scene with Betty running and hiding from Simon, who is yelling "WHERE IS MY BETTY?! WHERE IS MY PRINCESS?!" It's obvious she as scared for her life. I mean, she can see Ice King trapping Muscle Princess on the floor with ice. She wants to keep her distance from him until she can figure out how to make him normal again.
** She can't find a loophole by staying with the Ice King, or you know, stay safe. Not to mention they both wrote a book about magic time travel, so she probably had knowledge on the Crown's curse so nothing in Simon's library will be really useful. Sides, it seems she knows that Gunther is gonna look after him.
* As much as I enjoyed "Betty," I have one major Headscratcher about it: How in the world does Betty so quickly understand and accept what is happening, and intuitively know how to solve it? I mean, just seconds before, she's running away from her fiance who is screaming and shooting lightning, and then that same man suddenly appears in a portal claiming to be 1,000 years in the future. She says he "doesn't seem crazy" and decides to join him, only to discover he is dying after his connection with the magic crown is lost, [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu and then saves him by punching out an anti-magic monster who even Wizard City couldn't beat.]] I mean... wow. I could accept Betty just being a badass, but this goes much much further than that.
** She apparently co-authored the book with the time portal ritual Simon used. Maybe she and Simon were scientists studying magic (at the time thought to be crack science, but proven real in the future she traveled to), so she already had some knowledge about how magic worked.
** Also Bella Noche is an entity of anti-magic, not anti-being punched with ThePowerOfLove.
* In "Betty", why doesn't Simon use the time travel portal to warn Past!Simon not to put on the crown?
** That's what most people would do, but Simon was probably smart enough to avoid time paradoxes.
*** Not to mention that if Past!Simon never put on the crown, he probably would've died in the war, and then who would've taken care of Marceline?
* When it is revealed that Ice King was once Simon Petrikov, he mentions that after taking off the crown Betty gave him a look of contempt. How was she able to give him that look if [[spoiler: she traveled to the future]]?
** Maybe the scene in this episode wasn't the first time he wore the crown, and she had already given him the look.
* If the problem was Simon aging rapidly, why couldn't Marceline just turn him into a vampire? Sure the drawbacks of having to feed on red and being unable to come into direct contact with the sunlight come with not dying, but is it really that inconvenient? She could even convert Betty too, seeings how they'd then be set at the same age perpetually the two would always have each other and Marceline wouldn't have to worry about outliving Simon.
** We know very little about how vampirism works in the Oooniverse, since Marceline is the only one we've seen (WordOfGod has it that Ash is not one). We can infer that it's at least partially transmitted by bite, as Young Marcy doesn't have bite marks in "Simon and Marcy", nor does Old Marcy in Farmworld, but there may be more to it than that. It may take days or weeks to take full effect, for example, and in "Betty" Simon was literally minutes from death.
** How do we know she hasn't all ready tried and failed to do that?
*** There'd be no reason to since by the time Marceline was a vampire, Simon had already been under the crown's effects. This episode is so far the only scenario in which there would be a point in doing that.
*** Well, maybe. We don't know what would happen if Simon were separated from a still-powered crown for a long period of time. We know that he doesn't need to be wearing it at all times for it to recognize him as its master and have its sanity-slippage and lifespan-lengthening effects, but it's at least ''possible'' that those effects would wear off if she, say, stole the crown and hid it from him halfway across the world. On the other hand, the crown is a powerful and seemingly semi-sentient artifact, so attempting to do so could have unpredictable effects. There might be withdrawal symptoms, or the crown might go berserk and attempt to freeze the world like it did when he died in Farmworld. We just don't know.
** She was probably worried about screwing things up, wasn't sure that she actually could and the general shock of "OHMAHGLOB SIMON'S BACK!" would've skewed her priorities
** Considering "Vamps About, she probably didn't do it because of her hatred of vampires.
* A really minor, silly one. But in "Too Old," why was the Manfried expy lemon child wearing a little model of a sailboat on his head?
* Did finn and/or jake ever go to school?
** Well, in the Lemonhope story Finn is seen in the classroom with Lemonhope and PB gives him homework and tells him to bring it back like he goes there regularly so we can probably assume Finn's in school NOW at least. As for Jake... well, he probably learned how to read somewhere so I'm going to guess his parents homeschooled him (and probably Finn, too).
* Lemonhope gave no crap for his own people? Why? He certainly didn't have an Astral Owl dream-just odd ones about freedom and being tied down by destiny. He chose to be an asshole towards his people-and stay away for 1000 years. This let the entirety of the Lemon race die out, if we're to believe that the empty, lifeless Lemon Keep is to be believed, since it had no champion. Yeah, I don't see a good motive for his actions.
** He was meant to be selfish, as a {{foil}} for Finn's heroism. Both PB and Finn were upset about his choice.
** He's a lemon person, and thus has essentially what's an equivalent to human autism. Lemongrab's weirdness isn't just random jerkery, it's an exaggeration of a real human mental condition. Lemonhope is just much more subdued, and less empathy than other people is a symptom of similar conditions. It's not his fault, it's just how his brain works. They've got them, and he's got him.
** In fairness PB and Fin were trying to groom him and force him to be the savior of his own race, when Fin and Jake could have easily defeated Lemongrab themselves and freed the people. Lemonhope was selfish beyond a doubt. This could be a form of irony or poetic justice. PB only saved LH because he was the one who looked to be the most normal and had music talent, while left the ones who were less ideal to her standards of normal, but might have had more empathy and willing to save their people.
** It's also a subversion of the usual ending to this sort of ReluctantHero story. Usually the hero rejects the CallToAdventure, then through various means realizes he must, and becomes the hero they need in the end. Lemonhope follows through most of this, but it's all out of a desire to be free from the debt to his people for saving him. Once that's done, he has no desire whatsoever to be a hero and goes back out to do his own thing. Plus, why do you think they were wiped out because Lemonhope wasn't there? Remember that Candy Kingdom was barren too. So many things could have happened.
** Was it selfish for him not to want to save his people from an immediate danger (a cruel tyrant) when they freed him for the express purpose of doing so? Yes, probably. There was an implicit agreement there: we free you, you free us. If they didn't have an expectation that he would return to help them, why stick their necks out for him? But was it selfish for him to leave after the immediate danger was past? I'm inclined to say no. He had done his part; there was no way he could have known that "something" bad would happen centuries down the line, and it wasn't his responsibility in any case. To use a real-world analogy, is it selfish of an able-bodied person to refrain from defending their country if it is invaded? Maybe yes, maybe no, but you can at least make the argument. But is it selfish of an able-bodied person to refrain from entering military service in peacetime? Of course not.
* So just who the hell was Cotton Candy Princess? We know now that PB was the first candy person born from the candy goop, and that she created all other candy people. We also know that candy people have a near limitless lifespan unless killed - or at least can infer it pretty heavily from Peppermint Butler being alive centuries ago and PB's anti-death zombie formula. So who was she? We know PB had some sort of connection to her because she has a picture herself having tea with an elderly Cottoncandy Princess - which really doesn't make any sense given that candy people don't really age. I think the early implication was that she was a grandmother or mother to PB, but we now know that's impossible.
** She could've still been a surrogate parent. Maybe Bubblegum just took a really long time to grow up, and the faster-aging Cotton Candy Princess looked after her-possible as a sort of regent.
** It's also possible that different candy people age at different rates. There's a cemetery full of dead candy people, and many of them look elderly when they're brought back to life, suggesting they died of age-related causes.
** A bit of FridgeBrilliance: Cotton Candy Princess was both super-fat and old in that photo compared to how tiny and young she was when Billy rescued her. Perhaps that is the answer? In Too Young, it says Candy People age with biomass. Maybe they die from "old age" when they get too fat? Still doesn't explain WHO she really was, though.
** Actually, the aging at different rates idea seems to be a bit of FridgeBrilliance. Different types of candy expire and rot in different lengths of time in real life, right? So it makes sense that some types of candy would age and die quicker than others, and what sort of candy is near non-biodegradable? Gum. There has been non-fossilized gum found by archaeologists spanning hundreds of years back. Of course, while they were obviously made from different substances back then, the core fundamentals remain mainly unchanged. Knowing that, it makes sense that, if she were indeed younger than Peebles (or even her mother/grandmother-figure as some have suggested), then it would make sense that Cotton Candy Princess grew old and died before she did. As for who she was, exactly, we can only theorize. She was a princess, surely, but of what kingdom? PB built the Candy Kingdom herself, so unless she took a break and put CCP in charge, then it's quite the plot hole, though one that can be forgiven due to her only appearance being in a season 1 episode. If PB _did_ take a break and put CCP in charge, then that would probably explain some of PB's overprotective nature if something went wrong, in which case Cotton Candy Princess is likely to show up again in a future PB-Backstory episode. I also feel the need to say that it was never stated that _all_ candy people age via biomass, just that PB can change her own age by adding or removing her candy biomass.
* While I was watching the series, how come nobody just killed the lemon people, they are all evil and cruel beast that will one day go insane, i mean Lemonshope seem like a good kid, but turn out to be a selfish kid as well?
** Lemongrab 1 is the only one that went nuts. Lemonjon sacrifices himself so the rest of the lemon people could eat. Lemonhope didn't want to be the savior of his people, but he wasn't really evil or cruel. The lemon people are all a little crazy, but they're also individuals and not all are going to be evil.
*** Lemongrab 1 going evil was suggested because of his bad experiences in life. PB was baffled as to why Lemongrab 2 turned out so different from his brother when were made to be exactly the same. The only difference is 2 always had someone understood him since he was born, 1. The original was alone in the Lemon Kingdom, with PB ignoring him for his "faults," and didn't understand him, which made him isolated, alone, and a nuts. The lemon people can turn out to be good or evil depending on their or experiences or desires just like anyone else. They aren't a race of evil beings, just not like everyone else.

* Why in the heck were the Lemongrabs allowed to remain in power? In the early episodes it might be justified by giving Lemongrab his own earldom to teach him how to rule in preparation for taking over the Candy Kingdom if PB dies, but each subsequent episode demonstrates more and more clearly that ''Lemongrab is a terrible leader''. At best he's horribly incompetent, and at worst he's sadistic and abusive. He's repeatedly shown to horribly abuse any power he receives, and all he really does is end up creating tons of misery for himself and others. Which raises the question of ''why the hell is he still ruling the earldom''? The only reason he ruled it in the first place is because PB ''gave'' it to him, so I don't think it's outside of her authority to remove him now that he's proven to suck at ruling it. Yet any interaction with the Lemons always consists of the cast somehow attempting to merely make his rule not as awful, despite the fact that there's absolutely no justifiable reason for him to remain in power. No one even ''considers'' that most of the issues stemming from him would be solved if Lemongrab was in a mental hospital rather than being allowed to rule over a castle.
** The only thing I can think is that Princess Bubblegum is somewhere between LawfulGood and LawfulNeutral, verging on LawfulStupid, and she ''never'' invokes ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem. Take a drink every time she says that "according to Candy Kingdom Law" or "the Candy Kingdom-[other country] Treaty" the heroes can't solve the problem of the week in the most simple and straightforward way available. Presumably at some point she legally guaranteed the independence and sovereignty of Lemongrab's earldom, and in her mind, breaking that law or treaty would be a worse crime than letting the lemons suffer because their leader is a madman.
** True, though you'd think that ''someone'' would at least suggest it as a possible course of action. It would be understandable that ''she'' wouldn't want to do that, but you'd think that Finn or Jake might consider it a viable course of action. They've attacked/killed/deposed other characters for doing far less damage than Lemongrab does.
** It might have something to do with fandom reaction too. IIRC the creators know about the Lemongrab VocalMinority who despise Bubblegum for everything she does, and her trying to take him out of power might cause more trouble than it's worth. I'm sure there's other reasons, but I think that might be a factor.
** I think ''even if she tried'' Lemongrab probably wouldn't give up his authority willingly. And if she really pushed the issue I think war would break out with Lemongrab probably using his shock-collars on his children to make them fight and then there would just be innocent lemonade and candy blood spilled everywhere. During the Lemonhope story it looked like she was preparing him to take over one day; that way she could avoid war. How she planned to do this is unknown, though, since Lemonhope ran away before she was done prepping him.
* Marceline is half-demon. Demons [[ToiletHumour poop bananas.]] Does Marceline poop bananas?
** Maybe since she's only half-demon her digestive system "compromises" and makes banana-shaped poop? Or poop-shaped bananas? Hmm...
* How is the Lich able to corrupt the Citadel? This is a cosmic prison meant to hold universal threats greater than himself-things that have threatened universes, if Prismo is to be believed. far beyond the scope of his powers, being tied only to a mortal plane of Ooo.
** It was all apart of his Dangerous Genre Savvy, When he gets imprisoned by the Guardian, he leaves his mouth open, Being a walking death bringer who's very breath can kill anything, its not surprising to see that his breath corrupted the crystals too.
*** plus There's the idea (at least in my opinion) That the crystals aren't really crystals, there just some liquid crystalized to entrap prisoners in a cryogenic like state.
** If his speech about "an army sailing to a billion worlds" is to be believed, he must have more cosmic clout than was shown in previous episodes.
** It seems less 'the Lich wasn't bad enough to get to the Citadel' rather than 'everyone THOUGHT he was'. The Lich pretty much manipulated everyone into thinking he was harmless until he had the chance to strike. Given the sheer scope that the Lich is implied to be capable of, it seems less 'he wasn't a big enough baddie to get into the Citadel' or was too weak, but that he'd never had the ''chance'' to commit a bad enough crime until the chance to murder Prismo presented itself.
** The proof is in the pudding. You can't really argue that the Lich wasn't powerful enough to corrupt the Citadel, because he did, so he was. Other denizens of the Citadel include a mouth that eats heads, a smoking bureaucrat, and a chubby grifter, so it seems fair to say that the Lich had the street cred to earn a place there.
* How in the holy mackerel did Starchy's train end up in the Citadel when it was very explicitly stated that the only way to get there is committing a cosmic crime?
** One of the prisoners had the ability to open portals and stuff, right? I got the impression maybe he accidentally let Starchy in?
*** Yes, a scene had the prisoner open up a portal and Starchy's train crashed in through it.
*** RuleOfFunny mostly covers it for me, but the main thing that weirded me out is that this prisoner can do things not even reality-warping Prismo could. I guess that works, but even then it's somewhat of a DeusExMachina that the portal just happened to be to the Candy Kingdom.
*** [[WildMassGuessing Maybe learning how to cast portals in and out of places like The Citadel was the cosmic crime he was locked up for?]]
*** That is the case, The prisoner (Called a Void Caster) basically is a being who can rip open portals in Space and use them to his advantage, the sheer potential of harm a person like that could do with such power is Fridge Horror and a Very reasonable excuse for why people like it should be imprisoned. Kind of like the Door lords, though with their potential, I only see an evil one just being a master thief.
* Death is scared of the Lich? How . . . how does that even work?!
** The Lich is like Death's creepy insane stalker fanboy? Or maybe the undead are anathema to him?
** Death is like a farmer who "harvests" the souls of the dead. The Lich, on the other hand, is like a natural disaster that wants to not only ruin the harvest, but make it so he can never have another again.
*** It could also be, though crazy as it is, that Even Death could be killed by a Lich, where he goes is up to anyone's imagination, but it could happen. My bets on just ceasing to exist.
*** The Lich is implied to be a cosmic entity and refers to himself as "the last scholar of Golb," who Betty identifies as the most powerful being in the universe. It's possible the Lich really is more powerful or scary than Death.
* Why did the Lich revert to a ''human'' when he was regenerated when his body wasn't his original but that of Billy? Shouldn't he have reverted to a giant baby version of Billy instead?
** The Lich had merely been wearing Billy's skin as a disguise, as we can see by the fact that the Lich's actual face was hidden underneath it, rather than be Billy's own skull. That and when the guardian's blood was thrown onto the Lich, he didn't even have his own usual rotting flesh attached to him. All of it had burned off when he escaped from the crystal.
* How was it that the Lich ended up stuck in Prismo's time room? The last time Prismo appeared he firmly established that when someone makes a wish, they are immediately transported to their wish-altered world. Did he not get transported because his wish was merely to send Finn and Jake home?
** It's possible Prismo may have somehow rules lawyered the Lich into being trapped there or the above is true. Notice when Shelby wishes for something that's not a big reality changer, he doesn't get transported back. It appears to only count for big 'change everything' wishes.
** He wished for Finn and Jake to return home safely. Having the Lich return with them wouldn't count as safe.
** Maybe that was the catch. Every one of Prismo's wishes come with bad side-effects. The more specific you are you less can go wrong. The Lich's altered wish never said anything about the Lich going back to Ooo.
* Prismo allowing Finn and Jake to essentially kill his Wishmaster form to get to the Citadel seems like a nice and even selfless gesture, but surely he should've known that they would've been trapped in crystal for good? The only reason any of the inmates escaped their crystal was because the Lich destroyed the Citadel from the inside, and even if they ''could'' break their crystal or Finn's dad's, the only way any of them escaped the dimension at all was because one of them could cast portals between dimensions, and it wasn't Finn's dad.
** Prismo willingly allowing it might have gotten a 'lesser sentence'. Note when the Lich kills him, he specifically says 'I changed my mind!', taking back the 'willing' part.
* Where was Finn when Jake was running his gang of bank robbers "before he learned that stealing was wrong"? It's hard to imagine Jake doing all that without Finn's involvement or at least knowledge, but it's equally hard to imagine Finn being cool with it. And if Finn had any involvement, it's never mentioned or implied.
** Maybe Jake did that stuff when Finn was younger.
* Why did Bubblegum make Finn a useless candy arm when we know from "The Vault" that she can make mechanical arms?
** I think it had to do with what PB was expecting him to use it for. She's used to seeing Finn fight monsters, so she made an arm that could do that. Rewatch the episode; that arm isn't useless, it's incredible strong and destructive. It only exploded due to that phantom limb appearing in its place.
* If the Great Mushroom War wiped out all of the other humans besides Finn and it happened a thousand years ago (as the show's wiki says the show hints at) shouldn't Finn himself either by a thousand years old or long dead by now?
** It didn't wipe out all the humans, it wiped out most of the humans, and the survivors would go on to become the many humanoid species that populate the planet. Finn is one of the few remaining un-totally mutated humans on the planet.
*** Actually, Finn not having a visible nose is the result of mutations. So presumably there are no non-mutated humans left. Finn is just human enough to still be counted as a human.
*** First, the term used was "[[BuffySpeak un-totally]]" implying that Finn, while a mutant, is still human, second, both Betty and Simon don't have noses, and they're pre-Mushroom War humans, so either that is just an art style choice, or noselessness was a relatively common mutation even pre-Mushroom War.
*** It's most likely an art style choice. Finn has a nose, it's just not as distinct as, say, Farm World Finn's nose. Noses are only drawn when they're emphasized or focused on, like [[http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdch00jeLc1qew5ie.jpg here]], unless they're unusually long or big like Ice King or Farm World Finn.
* What's Finn's deal, nowadays? With each passing episode he's less and less heroic, what with betraying Flame Princess just so she would fight Ice King because he got off on it, kissing each and every princess just to prove that he could get over Flame Princess and Princess Bubblegum, basically crashing into PB's room and assaulting her for the gem in her crown just because of his hero worship for Billy, and countless other things you don't think he'd do. Basically, WhatTheHellHero
** He has depression and teenage boy hormones. The writer for Breezy said that whatever he had with LSP, was the climax of the first thing. And he's still pretty heroic, just having more issues. You would too if you were the last teenager after an apocalypse.
* How come Clarence owns a private mausoleum if he was buried outside?
** The mausoleum belonged to him and his family, but they couldn't bury him there because nobody knew his name at the time, which is why his grave says "some donkus".
* If the Gumball Guardians know Peppermint Butler is evil, why don't they do anything about him?
** Peppermint Butler practices dark magic and he's done some questionable things, but so far we don't know if he's outright evil. Adventure Time doesn't operate on black and white morality, and Peppermint Butler may not be super evil. Though even if he is outright evil, he probably has some trickery to prevent the Gumball Guardians from getting him.
** Not to mention that even with his dark practices, he is still very loyal to Princess Bubblegum and thus doesn't pose a threat to her or by extension the Candy Kingdom.
* Why doesn't Princess Bubblegum create some competent and intelligent guards?
** Well, she tried before, as seen in "Rattleballs" but since that didn't work out maybe she's wary of trying it again and is willing to settle for the Banana Guards (at least, for now)?
** PB only has nominal input over how her creations turn out, and there always seem to be trade-offs. Her banana guards are incompetent but kindly and loyal, while her gumball guards were effective but merciless. She's either unable to make a compromise guard or unwilling to risk it.
* The origin of Marceline's axe bass. So I watched the episode "It Came From The Nightosphere" and read the comic "Seeing Red" and now i'm confused. In "It Came From The Nightosphere" Marceline's dad, Hunson Abadeer, acted all surprised by what Marceline did to the axe. But in the comic "Seeing Red" it says that Hunson was the one who modified the axe into a guitar which he then gave to Marceline. So who modified the Axe?
** The comics are in a separate continuity from the show unless said otherwise.
* How common are knife storms? How much damage do they actually do? And what causes the knives to disappear when the storm ends?
* I don't get why (at least prior to "Too Old") a large junk of the fandom insisted how much the Lemongrabs "care" for their children, going so far to claim that the Lemon Children clearly have a "strange but loving family". Uhm.... no? To me it seems more like the Lemongrabs (or at least Lemongrab 1 in light of later evidence) just got satisfaction from the act of creating life, like it was soothing some sort of hurt or longing within them. As son as each kid was made the Lemongrabs seem to forget about them (they even shove Plop-Top of the table to create their next offspring). They don't care that their children are starving and neglected and they sure as hell don't care that Lemonjon sacrificed himself to same them and his brothers/sisters. And from that point on while Lemongrab 2 genuinely seems to develop something like parental feelings and responsibility, Lemongrab 1 becomes and outright abusive jackass. When was there ever the "strange but harmonic family" so many people want to see?
** [[MisaimedFandom Isn't]] [[DracoInLeatherPants it obvious?]]
* Why didn't Shoko just stay in the Candy Kingdom? The Gumball Guardians could protect her when the Bathboys show up to assassinate her.
** I got the impression that life has been very unkind to Shoko from a very young age, which has colored her worldview into a very cynical one with no faith in the forces of good. She likely sees PB's attempt at creating a working and safe civilization as hopelessly optimistic, and would rather look out for number one as best she can by not incurring the wrath of the Bathhouse Boys.
* If Marceline had already given Finn and Jake ownership of the Tree Fort wouldn't that mean the deed she sold to Kim Kil Whan would be worthless since she was no longer the owner?
** It was more that Marceline still owned the home but she was letting Finn and Jake live there because they are her friends.
* "The Mountain". WTF?
** It's a Spirit Quest; it doesn't have to make logical sense.
* Has Susan gained muscle mass between "Beautopia" and "Dark Purple" or is this just a case of different artists?
* Minor one, but in "Betty" the Anti-Magic being (Bella Noche I think?) drains all the magic around it, turning Ice King back into Simon, and he escapes by stealing Ash's magic carpet. But... Since its a MAGIC carpet, shouldn't it have lost its ability to fly due to all the magic being drained?
** It seemed to have drained wizards' magic, and was immune to other magic directed at it, and made use of Ron James's double negative potion, but there were still wizards shooting wands at the black block. It didn't seem to drain item magic, just wizard.
* What was Tree Trunks thinking hiring LSP of all people as a babysitter?
** Because she's old and senile and naive. Plus probably desperate to go out on a date.
* "Orgalorg" reveals Gunter is [[spoiler:[[EldritchAbomination a cosmic entity]] who, in trying to intercept a catalyst comet, [[SealedEvilInATeddyBear was cast down to his current state]] by decree of the King of Mars. It's pretty cool, but there's one problem-this happened at most recently, before human civilization, yet Abraham Lincoln is depicted as the King of Mars in spite of not even been born yet.]]
** You're assuming that time passes linearally for such a being as the King of Mars, which is hardly a safe assumption. Being a cosmic entity, it may be that he lived out a millennia-long lifetime as the King of Mars ''first,'' and then as a result of his deal with Death, was sent ''back in time'' to live a mortal life as Abraham Lincoln, until that life was claimed at Ford's Theatre.
* The Moon was pretty much immune to sunlight due to her healing factor. Marceline absorbed her powers, so why is she so vulnerable to sunshine, which apparently could even kill her?
** It's possible that Marceline only absorbs a watered-down version of the powers. Note that she doesn't seem to have The Empress' hypnotism ability.
* As much as I appreciate [[DeathIsCheap death actually meaning something for once]], why don't Finn and Jake try to bring back Billy the same way they brought back the princess plant? Their casual attitude in that episode implies that resurrecting things through a trip to the underworld is a well-known possibility.
** Death probably isn't willing to grant to many favours, even Abraham Lincoln who was pretty much a god had to give up his divine status to bring Jake back, from their dialogue it sounds like he already owed Death for a soul, and this time had to pay if he wanted another.
* If Finn was 12 when the show started in April 2010, and it's July 2016 as of now, shouldn't Finn be an adult by now? He would be 18.
** Generally it seems the show stopped progressing in real time after Finn turned 16, simply so he wouldn't outgrow the premise before the show ended.
* It is reveled in Evergreen that the ice crown was created to grant wishes. Did I miss the part when they say it is only the first wearers wish? if not why do the crown keep turning people in to dino Gunters idea of Evergreen?
** It wasn't created to grant wishes, it was designed to bound with its first wearer and grant their deepest greatest wish. In Evergreen's case that would have been to save the world from the comet, but dino Gunther's was to be Evergreen. As such the Crown is still granting his wish all these millennia later, turning its wearer into a facsimile of Evergreen.
* Okay, so Simon met Marceline as a young child, But there's a flash back that shows her as a young tween hanging with her mother. But then later she's seen with a older Simon when she's a older teen, or 20 something when he's about to leave her for the final time. When and where did Marceline find her mother, how does she fit into the time frame exactly??
* Why didn't any of the glass people told Glassboy that he could simply hide his crack? Almost everyone had a hidden crack, and unless everyone figured out by themself how to hide it, someone probably told them.
* How did someone as [[ObviouslyEvil blatantly,]] [[CardCarryingVillain deliciously]] evil as Hunson Aberdeer ever seduce someone as sweet and angelic as Marceline's mom?
* Ghost Princess has been interred at Hamburger Hills Cemetery longer than almost anybody else, but Clarence died recently enough that Jake, as an adult, watched him die, and recently enough that Finn remembers a time when Jake wasn't averse to Softy Cheese. Is Hamburger Hills a very recent graveyard, or did it just take Clarence a ''really'' long time to finally break down after killing Warrior Princess?
* How can Jake's children teleport? It seems to be derivitive of their Rainicorn side, but Rainicorns have never been shown to be able to teleport before.
** Jake's alien bio-dad Warren Ampersand could teleport, and who knows what else his species is capable of? Jake is half dog, and every other dog is shown to be nothing special besides being able to talk. It's not surprising that stretching, which is probably the least complex of their abilities, is the only thing he inherited to a much less powerful degree. The pups, being half rainicorn, must have inherited a chemical mixture of rainicorn and recessive alien genes resulting in their random assortment of powers.
* Who is Prismo’s boss? They’re mentioned exactly once, despite being presumably more powerful than Prismo.
** A lot more attention is drawn to them in the first season of Fionna and Cake, although they're never shown and their identity is still a mystery. The only thing we know so far is that they communicate by dropping a phone from the sky, so it's possible that none of their employees have seen them in person. For all we know the phone itself could be their physical being with nothing perceivable or something entirely incomprehensible at the other end of the cord.
