%%* ''Franchise/TomAndJerry'' cartoons.

* In "Underworld Connections" of ''[[WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfZelda1989 The Legend of Zelda]]'' episodes, when Link hangs upside down, his nightshirt falls over his head to reveal heart-printed boxer shorts.
* These show up at least twice in ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'', first in a dream sequence, then when Chan loses his pants due to a bad luck curse and not wearing a belt in a Season 2 St. Patrick's Day episode.
* Two examples from ''WesternAnimation/TaleSpin'': A security guard stripped of his uniform (Baloo and friends [[MuggedForDisguise swiped it]] for a [[DressingAsTheEnemy disguise]]) in the "Baloo Thunder" episode, and an undressed partygoer in the "My Fair Baloo" episode, which involved the entire cast disrobing to construct a hot-air balloon from their clothing to fly them out of the jungle in which their plane crashed.
** In one of the ''Magazine/DisneyAdventures'' comics, they're in a FantasyCounterpartCulture to Japan and Baloo is forced to participate in a sumo wrestling match - wearing the requisite huge white breechcloth. He's grateful no one he knows is in the crowd, because otherwise [[NeverLiveItDown "I'd be hearing diaper jokes until the end of time!"]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheMask'' episode Magic, Lieutenant Kellaway is deprived of his outerwear by the Mask, revealing heart-printed boxers. In a unique form of extra humiliation, the Mask shortly thereafter [[{{Wedgie}} pulls the boxers over Kellaway's head.]]
* Seems to be the preferred undergarment of Disney's Goofy in [[WesternAnimation/HouseOfMouse his more recent appearances]].
** In his [[WesternAnimation/ClassicDisneyShorts oldest appearances]], Goofy seemed to prefer red long underwear, as this was the norm for underwear gags in cartoons at the time. Later he wore these same long johns as his alter ego Super Goof.
** His son Max wears white briefs as a teenager.
** Pete's son, PJ also wears white briefs as a teenager and later as a young adult in college.
* Various characters in ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}''.

* In the classic ''[[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]]'' cartoon episode "Attack of Big Macc", the title robot causes a security guard's pants to fall down and reveal these boxers. As they're retreating, Raphael [[LampshadeHanging hangs a lampshade]] on this by responding to Macc's statement that he detests violence by saying "I kinda feel the same way about underwear with hearts on 'em!"
** In another episode, Rocksteady is wearing identical boxers when Leonardo cuts through his belt.
* Lucky Piquel from ''WesternAnimation/{{Bonkers}}'' often has his clothes torn off, often with boxers with hearts on them underneath.
* Pete from ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'' has had them several times.
* They're pink hearts, not red, but they appear on a cop and off of Gandhi in ''WesternAnimation/CloneHigh''.
* ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'': In the GrandFinale "Graduation," when Shego steals Dr. Possible's spacesuit to accompany Ron on the space shuttle to rescue Kim and Drakken, she leaves him in a pair of black boxers with pink hearts. He is not amused:
-->'''Dr. Possible:''' (banging on shuttle portal, yelling)\
'''Shego:''' Is he always this excitable?\
'''Ron:''' Yeah, he doesn't have [[RunningGag the same "missing trouser" experience as I do]].
* Lucius on ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes'', in an EmbarrassingOldPhoto.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSpectacularSpiderMan'': "Okay, the thermals with the hearts were half-price and in no way reflect my very high macho quotient!"
* Binky the Clown in ''WesternAnimation/GarfieldAndFriends'' had heart-print boxers revealed during a song sequence on the show.
* A pair of these showed up in the KKK's game of "Who's Got the Silliest Thing On Under Their Robe" in the ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' episode "Chef Goes Nanners".
* In the ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder'' episode "The Troll", two Baaaaa-hallans [[FunnyBackgroundEvent knitting a tapestry from their own wool]] are wearing these.

* ''WesternAnimation/BikerMiceFromMars'': The episode "A Mouse and His Motorcycle" of the 1996 series involves a toxic goo and dust that neutralizes it. At the end of the episode, Greasepit falls in a puddle of the goo and then gets sprinkled with the dust, causing his overalls to disappear as well and leaving him in heart-print boxers.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheNewAdventuresOfBatman'': Bat-Mite is shown wearing heart-print boxers in the Bat Message segment of the "Have an Evil Day" two-part episode.

* In ''WesternAnimation/TheRaccoons'' special "Recap/TheRaccoonsAndTheLostStar", Cyril's troopers can be seen wearing boxer shorts with Cyril's face printed on them. You see them thrice, once as the guard loses his pants after the Raccoons accidentally took his belt, and twice after the guard is MuggedForDisguise. Either [[RunningGag he's one very unlucky guard]], or [[CultOfPersonality Cyril's entire army has his face printed on their underwear]].
* A RunningGag on ''WesternAnimation/TheCritic'' involved Jay Sherman losing his pants to reveal a pair of underwear with a (usually embarrassing) movie title printed on the rear (such as ''Back Draft'' and ''My Own Private Idaho''). This is a subset of a RunningGag established in the pilot: he never buys clothes because studios always send him free items as payment for his movie reviews.
* A RunningGag on ''WesternAnimation/KaBlam'' was the introduction of the "surprising shorts," animated shorts that were not part of any of the show's recurring series. Whenever Henry announced the shorts, June would promptly run over and pull down his pants, revealing embarrassing boxer shorts before announcing "Surprising!"
* In ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'', being an unfortunate teen whose powers are triggered by his emotions, his pants phase down, revealing boxers with red polka-dots.
** At another time, Danny's English teacher, Mr. Lancer, was revealed to be wearing pink boxers with little Shakespeare heads on them twice.
* Blanka/Charlie in the USA ''WesternAnimation/StreetFighter'' cartoon is shown wearing lightning-bolt underpants after returning to human form, likely a visual pun on his electricity attack in the original games.

** Tails even lampshades this when he questions the mayor's taste in boxers.

* In ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' one fight sequence between the nefarious Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his nemesis Perry the Platypus resulted in the loss of his pants, exposing boxers with Perry's face printed on them, another jab at their FoeRomanceSubtext-type relationship.
-->'''Doofenshmirtz:''' For your information, [[BlatantLies I had these]] ''[[BlatantLies way]]'' [[BlatantLies before I met you!]]
** In "Monsters from the Id", Doofenshmirtz creates an "Underwear-Inator" to put ratty, embarrassing underwear on anyone shot by it. It usually does briefs, but it does give Norm the Giant Robot Man a pair of white boxer shorts with red polka dots.
** Perry the Platypus has lost his fur on a couple of occasions, revealing both polka-dot and heart-print boxers.

* The Green Goblin in ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManUnlimited'' [[ItMakesSenseInContext loses his pants to a]] BlobMonster, revealing appropriately Halloween-themed underpants.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheReplacements'':
** "Master Pho" had these revealed twice from a ninja trick that removes the belt from your pants and reveals your underpants. First to Todd (revealing his light yellow boxers with purple polka dots) when his replacement, the titular Ninja Master Pho, teaches it to him; and second later on to Todd's school bully Donny Rottweiler after he gets what's coming to him via the trick, revealing his boxers with unicorns, rainbows, stars and planets printed on them. This is apparently merchandise from [[MyLittlePhony a movie Riley and Dick saw]] earlier in the episode.
--->'''Riley''': Aww, those boxers are so cute!\
'''Dick''': I want a pair!
** And speaking of Dick, he gets his fair share in "Skate-Gate", wearing boxers with the American flag printed on them while lounging and moping in the living room watching an old broadcast showcasing him in his daredevil prime.
** And a third time in "Abra-K-Dabra", where after he won his school's talent show for his magic act, Todd bests his rival Buzz by stuffing him in his (Todd's) magic box and performs a disappearing trick, revealing not only Buzz's shorts are gone, but also his pink boxers with bunny faces prints all over, to his humiliation. Todd himself is shown to wear boxers with bunny faces on them as well in both this episode and "Todd Busters".
* ''WesternAnimation/CampLazlo'' episode "Campers All Pull Pants" is about Edward attempting to pants everyone in Camp Kidney. Guess what just about every camper is wearing?
* The cartoon version of ''VideoGame/SpaceAce'':
** In "Perilous Partners", Borf is shown wearing red boxers with yellow polka dots on them.

The Goofalotatots light the fuses of the bombs to create a small explosion. [[NonFatalExplosions The Mask is unharmed]], apart from sporting a bit of black soot and boxers that are now just plain blue.
** Since The Mask often gives atomic wedgies to his enemies, various goofy print boxers have ended up over their wearers' heads, along with more traditional tighty-whiteys and plain boxers.
