* "English-speaking ears".
* [[RunningGag "BOOM"!]]
* "Mrs. [=BAUMbach=]! Mrs. [=BAUMbach=]!" (Turtle trolling after a bomb scare.)
* "...will be the one who finds the--" "ASHES!" [[spoiler: A huge plot point.]]
* "[[TheTapeKnewYouWouldSayThat Sit down, Grace Windsor Wexler]]."
* During the reading of the will, the heirs' names and "positions" are read aloud, based on how they signed for their letters.
** Jake wrote "standing or sitting when not lying down." Before the second will-reading, Jake absent-mindedly writes "bookie" as his position in life and is chagrined when Ed reads that out loud.
** Angela wrote "none," causing her fiance to wonder "what in the world did Angela mean by 'nun'?"
** The position names are also all important {{Establishing Character Moment}}s for everyone.
* Immediately after the will refers to Edgar Plum as a "brilliant young attorney," he misplaces a document and has to fumble to find it.
* Sydelle constantly bringing up twins at the party.
** When the guests take a vote over the source of "May God thy gold refine" they all choose Shakespeare or the Bible; she votes for Literature/TheBobbseyTwins.
* Doug Hoo running himself into the ground tagging after Otis Amber.
* Angela and Sydelle cobble together the phrase "good gracious from hood space" from some of the clues, and later, Angela tries searching under the hoods of the cars in the parking lot. Next day, when Mrs. Baumbach drives Turtle to the stockbroker's, her car's hood flies open unexpectedly. Guess a certain snooper didn't latch it properly...
* Mr. Hoo's constant bad-mouthing of the coffee shop in a transparent attempt to drum up business. In one scene, after hearing the will suggest Westing did not die a natural death, Mr. Hoo suggests he died from poisoning after drinking at the coffee shop (which has been taking away business from the Hoo restaurant).
* Absolutely everybody kissing up to Sydelle Pulaski in hope of being allowed a peek at her shorthand notes. All in ''exactly'' the same way.
* When Grace suggests one clue means the culprit lives in apartment 4c, her annoyed partner in the game reminds her that ''he'' lives in that apartment.
* Turtle kicking Theo in the shin as retaliation for a nasty note about her… which Doug, not Theo, had written.
* Jake and especially Grace Wexler showing up tipsy for the final session of the Game.
