* "[[Recap/ScoobyDooWhereAreYouS1E2HassleInTheCastle Hassle in the Castle]]":
** Shaggy's conversation with a talking skull.
---> '''Shaggy:''' Uh-oh. Like, which way did they go?
---> '''[[OracularHead Skull]]:''' They went that-a-way.
---> '''Shaggy:''' [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight Oh, thanks, man.]]
---> '''Skull:''' ''[imitating Señor Wences]'' S'aight.
---> ''[Shaggy and Scooby [[DelayedReaction realize what's happening]] and take off running.]''
** After running from the skull, Shaggy wishes he had a ham sandwich. A ham sandwich appears right out of nowhere. He then complains that it needs mustard. And then a jar of mustard appears.
--->'''Shaggy:''' This has gotta be my imagination, otherwise, I'd be scared stiff!
** Shaggy then asks for his imagination to cut the sandwich in half. The nearby suit of armor drops its ax right onto the sandwich, cutting it perfectly in half. Scooby and Shaggy run away...after which Shaggy returns to pick up the sandwich.
** Daphne ends up seperated from the rest of the gang then hears someone coming. She ends up clubbing Shaggy over the head with a vase! (Pretty darn hard as the entire screen shakes when the vase connects!)
--->'''Daphne:'''(Surprised) Shaggy!
--->'''Shaggy:''' Oooh, hi Daphne. ''Collapses''
--->'''Velma:''' Look! Shaggy found Daphne!
--->'''Fred:''' For once he used his head.
--->'''Daphne:''' Are you alright?
--->'''Shaggy:''' Sure, just as soon as I have [[BigEater six or seven sandwiches.]] ''Scooby licks him''
--->'''Velma:''' He's alright, all right!
* In the episode "Mystery Mask Mix-Up", Shaggy tries pretending to not be scared to keep the masked figure, Zen Tuo, away. How does he do this? He picks up a stick and draws a line on the dirt floor, daring Zen Tuo to cross it. Shaggy does this several times before Zen Tuo finally just takes Shaggy's stick and breaks it.
** Scooby is somehow able to [[BilingualBonus speak to the owner of a Chinese laundromat]] (or at least [[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign try to]]) before borrowing a shirt presser and make a steam smoke screen in order for him and the gang to get away from Zen Tuo's henchmen.
** Also from the same episode, as Shaggy and Scooby escape Zen Tuo, this exchange occurs as they board up a door to hide behind:
--->'''Shaggy:''' Ha! [[TemptingFate He won't be getting through]] ''[[TemptingFate that]]'' [[TemptingFate door!]]\
''[The entire wall the villain's behind lifts up like a curtain.]''\
'''Shaggy:''' [[LampshadeHanging ...And wouldn't you know he comes through the wall?]]
** Zen Tuo wasn't done being funny, either:
--->'''Shaggy:''' Don't you know it's illegal to shoot off fireworks and wreck a store room?\
'''Zen Tuo:''' We will build a new store room!\
'''Shaggy:''' I wonder who's gonna build a new us?
** The entirety of the "I Can Make You Happy" chase involving Fred driving like crazy to get away from the Scare Pair including through a hotel and ending with the Mystery Machine slipping on a BananaPeel, spinning out of control and crashing into a pile of fish at Fisherman's Wharf and the Scare Pair screeching to a halt to throw Scooby off. Not to mention, the Scare Pair somehow grabbed Daphne anyways. There's also this dialogue between Fred and Velma after the crash into the fish:
---> '''Fred''': Well, they say fish is supposed to be good for you!\
'''Velma''': Yeah, but this is overdoing it!
* "A Night of Fright Is No Delight":
** Shaggy takes the fish's fish food for his sandwich, and the snarling sound the fish makes is just hilarious.
** When the walls start closing in on them when Scooby attempts to "feed" the organ, they ask Scooby to do something. He agrees, and hides in the storage area of the bench.
** The camera pans over the other potential inheritors, all looking rather sketchy, and ends on Scooby sitting upright in a chair looking unusually sketchy.
* "[[Recap/ScoobyDooWhereAreYouS2E7WhosAfraidOfTheBigBadWerewolf Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Werewolf?]]":
** After spending an entire scene chasing Shaggy and Scooby around, the werewolf is shocked when his prey escapes a tight spot by using a pair of trash can lids as makeshift wings, and then has to duck when they accidentally glide above him and nearly take his head off.
** Shaggy and Scooby's barber shop skit.
--->'''Shaggy:''' ''[grabs werewolf's paw]'' Step right in, sir. No waiting. ''[places him in barbershop chair]'' I know, just a light trim, sir. We're all wearing it a bit longer these days!\
'''Scooby:''' Bad nails!\
'''Shaggy:''' ''[having given the werewolf a [[GagHaircut short, uneven haircut]]]'' You have a dandruff problem, too, sir! ''[the werewolf begins growling]'' Something wrong, sir? Scooby, scat!
** This bit of dialogue when Shaggy wonders aloud how the MonsterOfTheWeek fits into the mystery, which naturally cues Fred to say that they're going to figure it out:
--->'''Shaggy:''' [[YouJustHadToSayIt Oh, why don't I just keep quiet?]]\
'''Scooby:''' ''[angrily]'' Yeah!
* From "Never Ape an Ape Man", as Shaggy and Scooby-Doo try on costumes:
--> '''Shaggy:''' Give me liberty, or give me pizza pie.
* From the episode "What the Hex Going On?":
-->'''Shaggy:''' Like, I've found a clue.\
'''Fred:''' Groovy. What is it?\
'''Shaggy:''' Him. ''[cut to Shaggy pointing to the ghost of Elias Kingston with his hand on Shaggy's shoulder]''
* Scooby and Shaggy hiding from Mr. Hyde in a TV set in "[[Recap/ScoobyDooWherAreYouS2E1NowhereToHyde Nowhere to Hyde]]".
-->''Hyde turns on the TV. Shaggy pops up, dressed as a clown.''\
'''Shaggy:''' Hi, kids. Uncle Happy Time here, once again, with your favorite dog star, King of the Wild Blue Yonder.\
'''Scooby:''' ''[dressed as a pilot, waving]'' Hi, kiddies!\
''Hyde changes the channel. Shaggy and Scooby, dressed as an UsefulNotes/AmericanCivilWar soldier and a Native American, pop up.''\
'''Shaggy:''' If you don't sign the treaty, Running Dog, we'll take back the trinkets and beads!\
'''Scooby:''' Uh-uh. Indian giver!\
'''Shaggy:''' Then go! ''[ends up sticking his finger into Hyde's stomach while pointing]'' Whoops!\
''Hyde lifts up the TV.''\
'''Shaggy:''' ''[chuckles]'' You know, you ought to get this set fixed!
* In "A Tiki Scare Is No Fair", [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyra8m6zKAk#t=55s this part.]] The Witch Doctor hits a button, causing a wall to rotate, and keeps hitting it upon said rotation revealing Shaggy and Scooby in various odd positions (Scooby taking a bath, Shaggy in costume and dancing, Scooby doing the hula, Shaggy juggling plates) before finally hitting it repeatedly and sending them flying into the bushes... where they get covered in palm fronds and stagger out, causing him to mistake them for a monster and run away in fright.
* "Go Away, Ghost Ship":
** The OpenSesame moment. A hidden warehouse is guarded by a (mechanical) talking skull that demands a password. Fred tries "Sixteen men on a pirate's chest," which doesn't work; Velma tries "Yo ho ho and blow the man down," which doesn't work either. Shaggy tries "Yum yum yum and a liverwurst à la mode" as a joke ''and it does.''
--->'''Shaggy:''' Wow, some password!
*** On top of that, it's a CallBack to "Scooby-Doo and a Mummy Too" (see below).
** Redbeard realizes that Shaggy and Scooby sabotaged a stew they made for him, so he makes them eat it. Fortunately, they put soap in it so they spit bubbles at him to escape.
* "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts",
** The vampire tells the gang that they're not welcome in the castle and tells them to leave. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijmCEYWefks Velma tells him to stop that because they're allowed to be here]]
** The items in the fridge are [[ForeignQueasine Pickled Vampire Wings, Werewolf Snacks (Chunky Style), and Fried Moonbeams (New and Improved)]].
** During their trip to the fortuneteller, she warns them that they're in danger of "evil forces from the world of the dead" in the mountains. Scooby hides under the table, being afraid of the werewolves.
--->'''Shaggy:''' ''[angrily]'' There are no werewolves, Scooby! You get back here!
** Coming into the castle laboratory, Shaggy and Scooby come across what appears to be Frankenstein's monster (or "Old Square Head", as Shaggy calls him) sleeping on a table under a sheet. So what do they do? Play a little prank on him by having Scooby pull away the sheet so Shaggy douses him with a hose. However, it turns out to be a wire-frame under the covers, so Shaggy instead ends up soaking Scooby and then himself after Scooby shields himself with a tray that reflects the blast.
** Afterwards, Shaggy and Scooby pretend they are a MadScientist and his assistant [[TheIgor Igor]] mixing up a potion that "turns werewolves into pussycats". Their concoction turns out be a foul-smelling liquid, so Shaggy tosses it away backwards... where it crashes and explodes at the feet of the werewolf preparing to ambush them, causing him to retreat into his hiding spot coughing.
* In "Which Witch Is Which?", after only finding a voodoo doll of Zeb:
-->'''Fred:''' There's only one place to find the answer.\
'''Shaggy:''' [[DidntWantAnAdventure Like, in the phone book, I hope.]]
** Then, the gang finds voodoo dolls of themselves. Fred and Velma don't buy into it since they don't believe in voodoo magic, so Scooby pokes a needle into the back of the Shaggy doll to see if they're right or not.
--> '''Shaggy:''' Yeow! I've been voodooed!\
'''Fred:''' Hold it, Shaggy. ''(pulls out a fork that somehow got into Shaggy's back)'' All you did was back into this fork.
** Shaggy cheating at the coin toss: "Heads I win, tails you lose."
* "Haunted House Hang-Up":
** After going through a long, multi-syllabic explanation of how silly it is for Shaggy to be freaked out by a phantom in the well, Velma simply states that ghosts don't exist.
--->'''Shaggy:''' Yeah, but does the ghost know that?
** When the gang tries to decide who should open the mysterious box, Shaggy jokingly scratches Scooby's ear. This causes Scooby to raise his paw to swat away Shaggy's finger, but at the same time accidentally volunteering to open the box.
--->'''Fred''': Ah, a volunteer. Good boy, Scooby!
--->'''Velma''': Good boy, you're our hero!
--->'''Daphne''': Hooray for Scooby!
*** When he actually does open the box, revealing the (obviously fake) severed head of Jefferson Stillwall:
--->'''Shaggy''': Oh, my gosh! It's Jefferson Stillwall!
--->'''Scooby''': ''(Faints in shock)''
--->'''Fred''': ''(Knocking on the head)'' It's only a wooden dummy!
--->'''Velma''': Somebody did this to deliberately scare us.
--->'''Daphne''': ''(Looking at Scooby's unconscious body)'' ...And they did a pretty good job, too.
** Shaggy and Velma entering a pitch-black room:
--->'''Shaggy''': I ain't going in there! Nooooo way!
--->'''Velma''': How about '''that''' way? ''(Shoves him inside in complete darkness except ByTheLightsOfTheirEyes)''
--->'''Shaggy''': I feel like I've been dipped in ink and let loose in the coal mine!
--->'''Velma''': Let's hold hands so we don't get separated. ''(They do so, slowly walking towards opposite end of room)''
--->'''Shaggy''': For a girl, you sure got cold, clammy hands, Velma.
--->'''Velma''': ''Your'' hands are like a couple of fish right out of the lake!
--->''(They exit the room; [[FrightBesideThem it's revealed whose hands they're both holding...]])''
--->'''Velma''': Yipes! There ''is'' a Headless Specter!
--->'''Headless Specter''': ''(Laughs evilly)''
* In "Decoy For A Dognapper", when Shaggy and Velma are swarmed by bats:
--> '''Shaggy:''' If I ever get out of this, we'll call this dance the [[{{pun}} Bat]][[Series/Batman1966 usi]]!
** Also this quick exchange
--->'''Scooby:''' Ri, Raggy.\
'''Shaggy:''' Ri, Rooby.
* In "Spooky Space Kook", Scooby and Shaggy lock themselves in a shack. Shaggy tasks Scooby to take the key in a safe place, and Scooby resorts to just throwing it out the window. When they barricade a different door, only to find that the Space Kook was able to open it the other way, Shaggy asks Scooby for the key, the one Scooby just threw out the window. Rather than just jump out the window and bail, they jump out, grab the key, jump back in, and open the door.
* "Scooby-Doo and a Mummy Too":
** The chef at the malt shop makes a comment on Shaggy and Scooby's BizarreTasteInFood.
--->'''Chef:''' Liverwurst and ice cream?! What will they think of next?
** Stuck with the mummy, Velma and Shaggy attempt to make him leave. Velma tells him to go away. Shaggy tells him his mummy's calling him. When this fails, Shaggy bribes Scooby with Scooby snacks to make him make the mummy go away. Scooby then attempts to punch the mummy, causing his paw to resemble an accordion.
** Scooby's temporary transformation into a frog.
** Fred, Daphne, and Velma's attempt to hide from the mummy in a shed fails when Shaggy accidentally breaks the door down with a runaway power mower. When the dazed Shaggy asks what happened, Velma tells him that he let the mummy in, in the same tone as if she were scolding him for tracking in mud.
* "[[Recap/ScoobyDooWhereAreYouS1E10BedlamInTheBigTop Bedlam in the Big Top]]":
** In order to snap Daphne out of her hypnotic trance, Scooby tries to talk an elephant into [[WaterWakeUp squirting her with water]]. However, his words come out unintelligibly, so the elephant misunderstands and squirts ''him'' instead.
--->'''Scooby''': Not me! Her! ''(points to Daphne, prompting the elephant to squirt her awake)''
** The Ghost Clown acting like a chimpanzee after Scooby and Shaggy trick him into hypnotizing himself. And then Shaggy puts him on a leash while Scooby gets him to follow by tying a bunch of bananas to his tail. Doubles as CMOA for Scooby and Shaggy.
** Shaggy and Velma attempt to rescue Scooby from the trapeze wire with an umbrella and trampoline. Everything seems to be going smoothly until the umbrella breaks, causing Scooby to go into a freefall and onto the trampoline. The force of the landing causes Shaggy to fly into the air and break the platform Velma is standing on. Fortunately, this unintentionally saves her from the Ghost Clown, who attempted to reach out for her. The three of them end up bouncing up and down on the trampoline from their high flies and falls before Scooby lands in a house containing helium balloons.
* In "Scooby’s Night with a Frozen Fright", when Scooby and Shaggy are hiding from the caveman behind a curtain, Scooby’s tail is hanging out under the curtain, so the caveman comes over and stomps on it. Scooby is in so much pain that Shaggy hands him a paper bag, which he screams into, closes the bag, and hands it to the villain. The caveman opens it, and Scooby’s yowls come tumbling out.
* "Jeepers, It's the Creeper":
** After the gang found the bank guard lying in the road following his run-in with the Creeper, Shaggy finds a piece of paper. Before Shaggy can read it, Scooby pops up between him and the paper like toast from a toaster, blocking his view. Shaggy irritably pushes him down so he can actually get a look.
** During the song-and-chase scene, the gang's wagon reaches a cliff. Despite hauling four teenagers, a dog, and a cart, the gang's commandeered horse majestically leaps the gap, while the Creeper's horse (which has only him) falls short and has to bounce back up using CartoonPhysics.
** Scooby and Shaggy hide from the titular monster inside a chicken coop, with Shaggy hiding underneath a chicken’s nest, and Scooby impersonating a chicken. After the Creeper leaves, an egg Scooby just sat on hatches and a chick emerges and instantly thinks Scooby is his mother. As Scooby tries to set the chick straight:
---> '''Scooby:''' You ''(cheeps)'', me ''(barks)''\
'''Chick:''' ''([[ComicallyMissingThePoint barks like a dog]])''\
'''Shaggy:''' Oh great. Now he thinks he's a dog.\
'''Scooby:''' ''(facepalms)'' Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
*** And so, the chick follows Scooby for the remainder of the episode.
** The gang comes across a cave on the other side of a rickety bridge, and inside they meet a weird hermit who invites them for dinner. Said dinner being squirrel stew with pickled bat wings and crab grass roots.
--->'''Hermit''': Here, have some more.\
'''Shaggy''': N-no thanks. I just remembered I'm on a strict squirrel-free diet.\
'''Scooby''': Me too!
** During the final chase scene, the Creeper chases Fred, who trips just before the monster grabs him, sending Creeper flying over his head and into something else. Fred apologizes. The Creeper snarls, and [[TheLeader Fred]] disappears in a flash of color the way [[LovableCoward Shaggy and Scooby]] normally do.
* In "A Clue for Scooby Doo" Mrs. Cutler talks to the gang while stirring a bowl of something. Scooby helps himself to a spoonful and likes it... only for Mrs. Cutler to then ask if they mind her doing the washing while they ask her questions. Scooby is disgusted at what he just drank.
* In "Foul Play in Funland", when the gang follows Charlie into the Tunnel of Love, the robot torpedoes into the boat and knocking them into the water. We see Shaggy frantically dog paddling, and yelling that he would save them. He stops when we see Velma standing in the water and suggesting they just walk out of the tunnel.
