* Remy and Emile getting struck by lightning while cooking on the roof of the old lady's house.
** After Remy tastes his creation, he asks what Emile would call the flavor.
--->'''Emile:''' Lightning-y?
* While in the old lady's kitchen, Emile is surprised (then worried) about how Remy's so familiar doing all these human-like things, mainly because of how their dad might think of it all.
-->'''Emile:''' It- it's like you're involving me in crimes, and I ''let'' you. ''Why'' do I let you?
* Remy passes by two lovers arguing, one threatening to shoot the other. The gun goes off... and they immediately start making out. [[FreezeFrameBonus Sharp-eyed viewers may see Remy actually rolling his eyes at this.]]
** On Linguini's television: a man and a woman arguing, throwing themselves at each other in the heat of fury... and ''they'' [[SlapSlapKiss immediately start making out]].
** All of which sets it up ''so'' nicely for the moment when Remy decides a ShutUpKiss is the only way to keep Linguini from blabbing everything to Colette...
* "BUT HE'S ''RUINING THE SOUP!''"
** For context, said when Linguini is making soup and Remy worries that he's ruining it. He tells the imaginary Gusteau to do something, but when he points out [[LampshadeHanging he's imaginary]], Remy shouts this line, which also ends him having him fall down into the kitchen sink currently full of water and pans. Not long afterward, he gets out only to nearly run into Colette frying a dish with a roaring flame; in other words, [[VisualPun out of the frying pan, and into the fire]].
* Remy's reaction (namely, he gags) upon smelling [[LethalChef Linguini's]] cooking, which becomes funnier if you know that [[ArtisticLicenceBiology rats don't have a gag reflex]]. [[EpicFail In other words, Linguini's cooking is apparently so bad it]] ''[[BeyondTheImpossible breaks the laws of biology]]''.
** On top of that is Remy repeatedly turning around as his brain keeps switching between fixing the soup and escaping. Initially, after keeping his breakfast down, Remy steps over to the seasonings, grabs some and throws them in, and almost turns to head for the window but stops to waft more of the scent to his nose... then realizes what he's doing and starts running for the window... only to hold up a finger like he's telling himself "Just a minute!" and grabs a few more to throw in the pot. It's entirely silent and quite amusing seeing the rat in a minor conflict with himself like this.
** Just as Remy finishes fixing the soup, Linguini turns on the light and sees him standing on the edge of the soup pot, [[MusicalisInterruptus bringing the background music to an abrupt stop.]] Both of them stare at each other in shock for a couple seconds. Remy drops one more thing into the pot...while still staring at Linguini.
* Skinner apparently thinks it's ''actually legal'' for him to have Linguini drawn and quartered for "tampering with" the soup.
** If you're aware of what "drawn and quartered" means[[labelnote: It's not pretty.]]It was an old punishment for treason in 14th century England, and it consisted of, in order: [[CruelAndUnusualDeath being fastened to a wooden panel, dragged behind a horse, hung to near death,]] [[GroinAttack emasculated,]] [[CruelAndUnusualDeath disemboweled, beheaded, and chopped into four pieces.]] [[/labelnote]], it approaches CrossingTheLineTwice that Skinner thinks [[DisproportionateRetribution it's a suitable punishment for a botched cooking attempt.]]
* This line said by Skinner after finding out the soup was changed, that isn't a sentence you hear every day:
-->'''Skinner:''' Stop that soup!
** Not to mention the fact that directly after Skinner runs after the waiter carrying the soup, letting out a BigNo, but stops once he enters the dining room, attracting the attention of every diner. He promptly runs back inside the kitchen in embarrassment.
* Larousse with his pastry blowtorch. It's when Remy gets caught by Linguini, and Larousse is psyched to kill him with fire, only for Skinner to shoot the suggestion down. Watch his face right after Skinner says "Are you mad?!?"
** He finally gets to torch something after Linguini inherits the restaurant and Skinner is thrown out -- boxes of the cheap microwaveable food Skinner was hocking in Gusteau's name. His delight is obvious.
* Linguini finding out that Remy understands him:
-->'''Linguini:''' Did you nod? ''(Remy nods again)'' Have you been nodding ''(Remy nods again)'' You understand me?! ''(Remy nods a fourth time)'' Then I'm not crazy!! ''(Remy makes a "so-so" gesture)''
* Some of Remy's facial expressions are hysterical.
-->'''Linguini:''' I can't cook, right?\
'''Remy:''' (Nods)\
'''Linguini:''' But ''you'' can, right?\
'''Remy:''' (Shrugs as if to say, "Eh, kind of")\
'''Linguini:''' Look, don't be modest, you're a rat for Pete's sake.
** The face he makes when he says "We're thieves, Dad. And what we're stealing is, let's face it, ''GARBAGE''!" is funny too.
* Linguini [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whQHK_G3hH8 accidentally knocking Remy in a jar into a river.]]
* Skinner's "Welcome to Hell." declaration, complete with a smirk.
** Perhaps a PrecisionFStrike for some MoralGuardians, which makes it even better.
** Also a potential ShoutOut to [[Series/HellsKitchen a certain show]].
* Linguini's second day at work. All of it.
** While trying to find a place for Rémy to hide, he briefly suggests his underwear. Rémy understandably begs him not to.
** Linguini's FailedAttemptAtDrama as he slams open the double doors.
** Linguini and Remy fighting over control, with Linguini trying to hit the latter (and ending up hitting himself in the process) and Rémy biting him all over every time he grabs a wrong ingredient, while the rest of the cooks look on worryingly at him randomly spasming.
** Linguini is caught talking to Remy in the pantry by Skinner. The look on his face before he turns the light out is hilarious.
** Linguini spazzing out in the freezer after Remy bites him. He rips his shirt open, exposing his chest and arms, which are covered in bite marks. He understandably screams at this, then looks at Remy accusingly while screaming, and gestures at the bite marks... ''[[RuleOfThree while still screaming.]]'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BwPkcrFrng&t=2s Mere words don't do it justice.]]
*** Made even better when you look very, very closely at Remy. His eyes get bigger and he draws further back with each outburst Linguini has. It's a tiny detail that you really have to give the animators credit for.
** His excuse for being in the fridge is because he was familiarising himself with vegetables, etc. Skinner's reply is [[DemographicallyInappropriateHumour "One can get]] ''[[DemographicallyInappropriateHumour too]]'' [[DemographicallyInappropriateHumour familiar with vegetables, you know!"]]
** One of the things Linguini shouts in the fridge is, "I'm insane! I'm insane! I'm in a refrigerator, talking to a rat about working in a gourmet restaurant!!".
* "So... let's think this through. You know how to cook. And I know how to... appear human." (said by Linguini upon finding out Remy can cook.)
* When Remy and Linguini are practicing how to cook together, Remy accidentally throws a frying pan (including the omelette) out of the window, causing a car crash. Linguini tentatively lifts up his blindfold, only for Remy to push it back down [[YouDoNotWantToKnow for his own sake.]]
** Remy's EpicFail in the same scene of trying to get Linguini to lift the wine glass for him (Remy). He causes Linguini to ''drench them both by pouring it over his own head''. It's even funnier if you realize that Linguini just soaked his head, while poor Remy got drenched from head to foot.
** The TrainingMontage is capped off by Remy moving to actual cutting and chopping of vegetables, complete with an intimidating "shing" as he pulls up the knife. Good thing they already did all the wacky stuff...
** Remy has Linguini bring up two tomatoes for him to sniff for quality. He rejects the first, and approves of the second... only for Linguini to accidentally squish it, drenching Remy with tomato paste.
* One of the things [[HotBlooded Colette]] critiques Linguini about is his station not being clear. She says, "I'll make this easy to remember -- keep your station clear, or I WILL KILL YOU!" This currently provides the page image.
* One of the chefs, Horst, is a former jailbird who always [[MultipleChoicePast changes the story]] when someone asks [[AmbiguousCriminalHistory what he did time for]]. The last one is "I [[OnceKilledAManWithANoodleImplement killed a man... with THIS thumb]]."
** It gets a hilarious callback when Skinner is trying to sneak back into the kitchen. He gets caught by Horst, who doesn't say anything, but silently and menacingly [[MundaneMadeAwesome holds up his thumb]] before we cut to Skinner getting tossed out as we hear Horst yelling incoherently.
** He also claims to have robbed a bank using only a ballpoint pen or created a hole in the ozone layer over Avignon. One of them ("I defrauded a major corporation") even looks like he said it ''during his job interview''.
* Larousse's background. According to Colette:
-->'''Colette:''' Larousse ran guns for [[LaResistance the resistance]].\
'''Linguini:''' Which resistance?\
'''Colette:''' He won't say -- apparently, [[YourTerroristsAreOurFreedomFighters they didn't win]].
* How did "Sweetbread a la Gusteau" turn out so badly that it involved [[NoodleIncident anchovy licorice sauce]]?
** Becomes both better AND worse if you know "sweetbread" is a NonIndicativeName, it's actually a meat dish made from "sweet" meat cuts (such as stomach, throat, testes, or neck meat) and not a dessert bread. The "sweet" meat cuts compliment some part of the recipe... and not the others. It comes off as though Gusteau forgot what kind of meal he was making halfway through.
** The scene that leads to Skinner assigning Linguini to try and cook this is just plain hilarious. A customer asks if the restaurant has anything new to add to the menu ''[[OhCrap and the staff immediately panics.]]''
--->'''Mustafa:''' ''(bursts into kitchen) Someone has asked what is new!''\
'''Horst:''' NEW?!\
'''Mustafa:''' Yes! What do I tell them?!\
'''Horst:''' Well, what DID you tell them?\
'''Mustafa:''' I told them I would ask!\
'''Skinner:''' What are you blathering about?\
'''Horst:''' Customers are asking what is new!\
'''Mustafa:''' What should I tell them?!\
'''Skinner:''' What DID you tell them?\
'''Mustafa:''' '''''[[SuddenlyShouting I TOLD THEM I WOULD ASK!!!]]'''''
* Skinner attempts to expose Remy:
-->DAH! ''(rips off Linguini's toque only to find nothing in there and then covers up for it)'' Got your toque!
* You could pick any moment from the drunk Linguini segment and it'd be funny, but the part when he starts rambling about ratatouille is the crowner.
-->'''Skinner:''' Have you ever had a pet rat?\
'''Linguini:''' ''*visibly drunk*'' Nope.\
'''Skinner:''' Did you work in a lab with rats?\
'''Linguini:''' Nope.\
'''Skinner:''' Perhaps you lived in squalor at some point!\
'''Linguini:''' Nopity-nopity-no.\
'''Skinner:''' YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT RATS!! YOU KNOW YOU DO!!!\
'''Linguini:''' You know who know do. Whacka do. Ratta tatta- hey! Why do they call it that?\
'''Skinner:''' What?!\
'''Linguini:''' [[TitleDrop Ratatouille.]] It's like a stew, right? ''[[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace *getting up in Skinner's face as he asks*]]'' Why do they call it that? If you're gonna name a food, you should give it a name that sounds...''delicious!'' "Ratatouille" doesn't sound delicious; it sounds like "rat" and "patootie." "Rat-patootie!", which does ''not'' sound delicious. ''*notices his glass is empty and holds it out for Skinner to refill for the umpteenth time*''\
'''Skinner:''' ''[[TranquilFury *out of patience*]]'' Regrettably... ''*drops the wine bottle in the trash*'' We are all. Out. Of wine.\
'''Linguini:''' ''*looks at his wine glass with the most dejected expression.*''
* Remy controlling Linguini ''while the latter is unconscious'' can look pretty funny if viewed from an outside perspective of Linguini.
* During the scene where Linguini tries to tell Colette about Remy, [[ParentalBonus pay close attention to her eyes when he says "I have a tiny..little..."]]
** Which becomes funnier when he gets interviewed after becoming successful and Colette states, "He calls it 'his little chef'".
** He also says, "I have a ra..." and trails off. Colette says, "You have a rash?!".
* Linguini just barely avoids declaring love to Colette...
-->'''Linguini:''' I would've followed the recipe, I would've followed your advice, I would've followed your advice to the ends of the Earth because I love yoo''[[LastSecondWordSwap oouur advice]]''. But...
* Anton Ego is known as "The Grim Eater"; all the more fitting as his office from overhead is shaped like a ''coffin'', and the back of his typewriter looks like a skull face.
* Anton Ego stopping his own SpitTake, checking the wine he's drinking, then deciding it's better he swallows it... and [[GeniusBonus zooming in on the wine bottle reveals that he's right, as it's]] [[https://www.decanter.com/learn/wine-legend-chateau-cheval-blanc-1947-369917/ a bottle of Cheval Blanc '47]], a wine so rare that a bottle of it sold in 2010 for roughly ''[[https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/8138500/304375-bottle-of-Cheval-Blanc-sets-new-world-record.html £192,000]]'', or ''$304,375.''
** And when Ego is at Gusteau's for the climax, what does he want to drink? [[BrickJoke Cheval Blanc 1947!]]
** The '61 Chateau Latour Skinner serves two whole bottles of to Linguini in an attempt to loosen his tongue is also a very rare wine, as it goes for upwards of $5,000 a bottle. And he wastes all of it on a fruitless attempt to make Linguini talk about the secret to his success.
* Anton Ego reads an excerpt from his original review of Gusteau's
-->'''Anton:''' Gusteau has finally found his rightful place in history alongside another equally famous chef; [[TakeThat Monsieur Boyardee]]...
* The entire scene when Linguini is confirmed to be Gusteau's son and Skinner has a nervous breakdown, ranting about seeing rats everywhere. Talon thinks his client has gone insane:
-->'''Skinner:''' ''(After getting a confirmation that Linguini is indeed Gusteau's son)'' No...no...no, no, NO, NOOO!! '''[[BigNo NOOOO!!!!]]''' (''Kicks drawer'')\
'''Talon:''' The DNA matches, the timing works, everything checks out. He is Gusteau's son.\
'''Skinner:''' T-t-this can't just ''happen''! The whole thing is a setup! The boy KNOWS! ''(Skinner goes to his window and parts the blinds to the kitchen)'' Look at him out there, [[ObfuscatingStupidity pretending to be an]] ''[[ObfuscatingStupidity idiot]]''! He's toying with my mind like a cat with a ball of... something!\
'''Talon:''' String...?\
'''Skinner:''' Yes! Playing dumb! Taunting me with that rat!\
'''Talon:''' Rat...?\
'''Skinner:''' Yes! He’s consorting with it! Deliberately trying to make me think it's important!\
'''Talon:''' The...rat...\
'''Skinner:''' Exactly!\
'''Talon:''' ''(delicately)'' Is the rat... ''important''?\
'''Skinner:''' Of course not! He just wants me to ''think'' that it is! Oh, I see the theatricality of it; a rat appears on the boy's first night, I order him to kill it and now he wants me to see it everywhere! ''(high voice)'' OOOH!! ''(snaps fingers wildly)'' It's here, no it isn't, it's HERE! Am I seeing things, am I crazy, is there a phantom rat or is there ''not''!? But ohhh no! I refuse to be sucked into his little game... of... ''(Suddenly aware Talon is staring at him)''\
'''Talon:''' ''[a little freaked out]'' ... Should I be concerned about this? About... ''you''?
** Made even better when Linguini cheerfully ''waves'' at him while Skinner says he's pretending to be an idiot!
** Really, Skinner's SanitySlippage overall. Even better, he's RIGHT! Not about Linguini trying to pull some sort of scam on him, but about the rat. He becomes completely obsessed with Remy, thinking he's tied into some conspiracy Linguini is orchestrating, and [[EntertaininglyWrong completely overlooks what's actually going on]].
* Talon's line after it's confirmed that Linguini is Gusteau's illegitimate heir.
-->'''Talon:''' I was worried about the hair sample you gave me. I had to send them back to the lab.\
'''Skinner:''' Why?\
'''Talon:''' Because the first time, it came back identified as... ''rodent'' hair.\
''(Skinner has a perplexed look on his face)''
* Remy talks to the imaginary Gusteau in his office then starts imagining the Gusteau cut-outs advertising the frozen food products talking to him, including the "Guesteau's Corn Dogs" concept sheet (which plays out as Gusteau as a [[LiteralMinded literal dog in a corn suit]]), which leads to Remy giving them all a BigShutUp.
* Remy's FreakOut when he stumbles across the letter that reveals that Linguini is Gusteau's son, and the Gusteau Sprite being just as shocked, since he's (probably) just Remy's imagination, and doesn't know anything that Remy doesn't. The movie is ambigious about whether or not he's really Gusteau's spirit, especially since it's not made clear if the real Gusteau knew he had a son.
* There's something enjoyably ridiculous about the chase scene when Skinner is chasing Remy throughout Paris.
** He then gets hung up on when he claims that the rat stole his documents.
* This little gem as Linguini is ushered out of the press conference:
-->'''Colette:''' Listen, we hate to be rude, but... we're French, and it's dinner time.\
'''Linguini:''' She meant to say "It's dinner time a-and we're French"!
* "''I'm not your puppet! And you're not my [[BuffySpeak puppet... controlling... guy]]!''" (said by Linguini when he's mad at Remy and is a bit groggy due to being hungover).
* The serious look on Linguini's face when he tells the kitchen staff that "Appetite is coming, and he's going to have [[FreudianSlip a big ego]]".
* Mustafa, the waiter of Gusteau's, is taking Ego's dinner order, and Ego is gleefully taking the opportunity to [[StealthInsult comment on the lack of perspective available]]; Mustafa never catches on that he's being told to have the chef bring Ego his finest, and Ego just ends up spelling it out in no uncertain terms.
-->[''irate''] Tell your chef Linguini that I want whatever he dares to serve me! Tell him to "hit me with his best shot"!
* The poor health inspector, who doesn't realize that all the rats have cleaned themselves and so thinks it's very unsanitary, then gets [[BoundAndGagged tied up]]. And for extra funny, Colette is there to see the rats carrying him through the kitchen door, then throw and lock him in the closet; her expression afterward is best described as "Uhh... ooookaaay..."
* When Skinner busts in on Remy and the clan in the kitchen:
-->'''Skinner:''' WHO COOKED THE [[TitleDrop RATATOUILLE]]!? I DEMAND TO KNOW!\
''(Skinner removes his sunglasses and discovers that the ''entire kitchen'' is filled with rats, [[OhCrap then drops his glasses as he gapes in horror]]. Cut to Skinner, all trussed up, chucked into the pantry alongside the health inspector.)''
* Remy's delivery of his line at the very end of the movie, explaining why the restaurant got shut down, because of the vague note of exasperation that he has to say this out loud.
--> "I mean... we had to let Skinner and the health inspector loose [eventually]! And of course they ratted us out."
