* Beat Mike Tyson in ''Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!'' and he congratulates you on your ''[[BreakingTheFourthWall finger speed]]''.
* Two words: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2p6dQFDaQU Disco Kid!]]
** There's just something about that cheesy smile taunt he does during Title Defense that's just '''hilarious'''.
** Disco Kid's pre-fight intro in contender mode.
** Knocking him out causes him to spin around the ring, bouncing off the corners and lighting them up. It's hard not to laugh at just the absurdity of it, especially when he responds to this with a flat [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction "ouch"]].
** His between rounds animations in Title Defense mode. "Weeeeeee! I am Fab-u-lous!"
** Doc makes fun of Disco Kid's absurdity in Title Defense mode:
---> '''Doc:''' Hey Mac Baby... I didn't wanna spoil the surprise, but... I bought you a matching leotard for your birthday! Ha ha ha!
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR0WxoDZc98 This YTP]] makes fun of Disco Kid's absurdities.
* In the Wii game, King Hippo, when you select him, doesn't speak. He just ''roars'' at you, ''Godzilla style''.
** His knockout animation is him stumbling back, his big gut jiggling in slow motion, as pineapples and bananas fall around him, before he tumbles over the ring ropes with a ''very'' audible scream of terror, presumably from the poor audience member that gets smushed.
** If King Hippo wins, he does his classic win pose, only to end up pantsing himself!
*** Even funnier in the NES, where he doesn't care at all!
** Then there's the title defense bout, in which he covers his weak spot with a manhole cover [[DuctTapeForEverything taped to his belly]]. When Mac finally knocks it off, it [[AgonyOfTheFeet falls right onto Hippo's foot]], causing him to scream and ''damaging his health''.
* During intermissions while you're fighting Great Tiger, he may [[http://youtu.be/T2gpWisvzi8?t=2m35s change places with Doc Louis]]. Doc's reactions are priceless.
-->'''Doc:''' Where am I?! I can't even find my chocolate bar! I must be in the wrong corner!
** In Title Defense, shortly before the next round starts, Great Tiger's clones are having a conversation all by themselves, before being summoned back into the original Great Tiger.
** If Great Tiger wins in Contender Mode, he summons [[SelfDuplication clones]] of himself in different poses. Then raises his eyebrows twice.
* In the Wii version, you get to knock the ''croissants'' outta Glass Joe. Now say that out loud with the worst French accent you can.
** Let Glass Joe win in Contender Mode, and you get treated to Joe flexing his barely there muscles.
** Knock Glass Joe with a gut punch and his legs turns into jelly comically shaking before he drops down like a sack of potatoes.
* "[[MemeticMutation After this fight is over]], [[Website/{{YTMND}} I'm gonna go for a ride]] [[HeroStoleMyBike on your bike]]..."
* Super Macho Man's Title Defense intro. He tries to move into the spotlight, which keeps moving away from him.
--> ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis "Why. Don't. You love me?!"]]''
* Go ahead, [[SchmuckBait knock the chocolate out of Doc Louis' hands...]]
--> '''Doc Louis:''' [[BerserkButton Now you done it!]] [[YouWouldntLikeMeWhenImAngry You won't like Doc when he's angry!]]\
''(tears off his jacket to reveal a leopard-spotted shirt, [[{{Squick}} creeping out Little Mac]])''
** There's even a ''disclaimer'' when you do this.
---> '''WVBA Message:''' Removal of Doc Louis's chocolate bar may be hazardous to your health. The WVBA is not responsible for any frustration from this point onward.
* In the NES game, the only attempt at humor any of the characters make that actually is funny is when Bald Bull says, "My barber didn't know when to quit; do you?"
** From the same game there's also Soda Popinski's "I drink to prepare for a fight. Tonight I am very prepared!" and "I can't drive, so I'm gonna walk all over you!"
** Super Macho Man doing a PecFlex in time to "Music/RideOfTheValkyries".
* At one point between rounds on the Wii game, if you're doing well enough, instead of his usual advice, Doc tells Mac to remind him to pick up some milk after the fight. It just comes outta nowhere, making it hard not to at least chuckle at it.
** "Join the Nintendo Fun-- I mean, Club Nintendo today, Mac!" Hilarious in consideration where it sounds like the [[PrecisionFStrike F-word]].
*** The original Nintendo Fun Club line was pretty funny and out of nowhere as well.
** "What's your favorite flower, son? Mine's chocolate!"
** More of Doc's great advice: "There are many ways to eat a chocolate, but there is only one way to eat a chocolate bar!"
** "Listen up, son. I'm gonna tell you a secret. I LOVE chocolate bars."
* Decking Narcis Prince in the face can be quite amusing, given that he responds with an exaggerated and enraged "URRRRRGGGHHH!".
** Who needs to hit him in the face when hitting him in the stomach warrants [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/what_is_this_face.png these magnificent expressions?]]
** Heck, him making a sound as he gets punched around is just plain funny.
* Super Macho Man tends to get a lot of funny moments, but the best is how [[AttentionWhore even though he constantly plays to the crowd]], they always boo him. Goes up to eleven when he wins in Title Defense.
-->'''Super Macho Man:''' *With the crowd still booing him* Oh, now you love me. Now you love Macho Man. Well, it's too late...Maybe not!
* When Mac knocks his opponent down, the crowd cheers. When Mac knocks Aran Ryan or Super Macho Man down, the crowd goes ''[[AndThereWasMuchRejoicing absolutely nuts]]''.
* Some of the pre-fight cutscenes are worth a good chuckle. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiDsWK5a4Ck Title Defense Bald Bull]] will punch ''himself'' out for a few seconds, [[{{Beat}} only to pause briefly as if considering what he's doing]], then decide to punch himself once more before getting up for the real fight.
** And what about his sudden appearance in the camera's face?
** Also relating to Bald Bull, losing to him in contender mode results in the sight of a crazed Turkish boxer... doing a weird chicken dance.
** And his reaction to the Star Punch is not an OhCrap as with every other opponent. [[ThisIsGonnaSuck He merely sighs nervously]].
* Don Flamenco's ridiculously over-the-top defeat animation in the Wii version. He holds up a rose similar to old cartoon characters when they pretended to "die". Though unlike those guys, the rose ''[[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything wilts]]''. When you look at Don Flamenco after defeating him, he'll try to keep the rose straight, but it is always limp.
** Also from the Wii version: Don's anger when you knock off his toupee. The fact that the match had to momentarily stop just so he could react to it is also hilarious.
** Considering how Don acts in Title Defense to his win animation in Contender Mode, the moods are quite different.
** He has a [[FriendlyEnemy red rose]] for Mac in the Contender mode, and returns in Title Defense with a [[ThisMeansWar black rose]].
* Mr. Sandman's Title Defense victory cutscene, which has the referee trying to raise his arm in victory, but can't even budge it, and Sandman then lifts his arm into the air with the referee still holding onto it.
* Aran Ryan is a walking funny moment in the Wii version. Special mention should go to his fight loading screen, in which he runs around like a lunatic and yells in Mac's ear...without Mac even flinching. The audience for a blindfolded speedrun at WebVideo/GamesDoneQuick [[https://youtu.be/Cj5Dcsr1AkQ?t=1155 got a good laugh out of this one]], which isn't common as they more often laugh at the runner's comments or technical aspects of the game rather than intentionally comedic moments in the game itself.
** "YA DON'T LOOK IRISH!"
** "YA PROB'LY GOT ''CHEESEBURGERS'' IN THOSE GLOVES, HAVE YA MAC?"
*** Doubles as HypocriticalHumor, since he's asking Mac if he stuffs his gloves with something stereotypically American, when ''he himself'' is shown stuffing ''his'' gloves with something stereotypically Irish.
** If he wins in Contender Mode, Aran Ryan goes in to [[CameraAbuse shake the camera, and then headbutts it]].
** "ME ''SISTER'' HITS HARDER THAN YOU, BOY!"
** In between rounds in Title Defense mode he will actively challenge the audience to fight him... the crowd responds by pelting him with food and assorted garbage.
*** It should be mentioned that in spite of this, at no point does Aran Ryan stop threatening the audience.
---->'''Aran Ryan:''' OI! ''WHOZZAT?!'' LET'S GO! I'LL TAKE A PIECE O' YA NOW! AYE! THINK YER A ''MAN'', DO YE? OI, YE THINK THAT'S ''FUNNY'', COME ON!
* Bear Hugger in the Wii version bringing in a ''squirrel'' to help him box in Title Defense. Every time Bear Hugger gets knocked down, the squirrel comes out and jumps on his stomach to try to get him to wake up.
** And when you knock him out for good, the squirrel just flies off his head into the crowd!
** If Bear Hugger wins in Contender Mode, he pulls a page from [[WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook1967 Baloo]]'s book and uses the corner post as a back-scratching tree before falling asleep again.
** Every time he gets knocked down with a punch to the face: "TIMBERRRR!!".
* Doc can't help but fool around when Mac's fighting Franchise/DonkeyKong.
-->'''Doc:''' Listen up, son. If you're having trouble... maybe I should call [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros my plumber!]] Ha ha ha!\
'''Doc:''' Ok Mac, here's the deal... You go and distract this gorilla! Then I'll go and steal his bananas and make myself a chocolate sundae! Ha ha ha!
** Also funny, if you lose to Donkey Kong, he'll kidnap you.
*** Not kidnapping, ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros recruiting]]''.
* When the match goes to decision in the Wii version, the referee will walk to the centre of the ring, think for a second, then points to the winner. Sometimes he does a BaitAndSwitch where it looks like he's going to point to someone but then moves his finger to the other boxer. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i74OZ-RceQA&t=331s If he looks like he was going to point to Little Mac but then moves his finger to his opponent]]. He then faces the camera with a smirk on his face as if to {{troll}} the player.
* This video contains all the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZGEnsECwTM live-action commercials]] for ''Punch-Out!! Wii''. Special mention goes to the commercials featuring interviews with Great Tiger, Piston Hondo, and King Hippo, all of them who have had hilariously unsuccessful post-boxing careers.
** The interview with Great Tiger, who has attempted to get a career as a [[PissTakeRap rapper]], at one point performing at a retirement home, to the confusion of the elderly audience. At one point, the interviewer talks about an upcoming boxing match, and he points out that Great Tiger's punches keep on being intercepted because of the gem on his turban acting as a tell. Eventually, [[BerserkButton Great Tiger loses it]] and attacks a punching bag, right before cutting to him having a piece of duct tape over his gem.
--->''Send word to my mother; I'm in jail!''
** Piston Hondo attempts to run a restaurant and admits that he knows nothing about it.
** King Hippo as a blender salesman. Apparently, his blenders are of questionable quality, to the point that there was a complete recall.
* Mike Tyson couldn’t even [[https://youtu.be/mfEOHcGFchY beat himself]] in the NES game. He was even struggling with [[WarmUpBoss Glass Joe]].
* Each opponent in the Wii game received a [[https://boboomba.weebly.com/puch-out-wii-players-guide.html promotional comic strip]], which included such gems as:
** Glass Joe's ImagineSpot of being World Champion, in which he inscribes a ''baguette'' on the belt. This is immediately followed with him being literally smacked back into reality as Little Mac beats his face in.
** King Hippo, who is SuddenlySpeaking, gleefully admitting he doesn't know his own height, weight, age, or even what boxing is.
** After Don Flamenco punches a bull into the air, it then falls on him, resulting in him getting covered with InstantBandages.
** Aran Ryan being HoistByHisOwnPetard when his horseshoes weigh his gloves down so much, he can't even lift his arms, thus allowing his opponent to knock him down.
** Bald Bull can't even get peace [[ToiletHumor on the toilet]]! That might explain his anger issues...
** Super Macho Man flexing so hard, he rips his pants, leaving his bare ass on display, which makes the girls swooning over him turn away, [[LuminescentBlush blushing like tomatoes]].
* Sometimes, when he does his ''"Bonjour, bonjour! Je suis Glass Joe!"'' contender intro, Glass Joe will trip in the middle of his introduction. He'll proceed to chuckle, looking slightly embarrassed.
* During Title Bout, the typically stoic Piston Hondo will develop an almost [[SlasherSmile crazed-looking smile]] when performing his delayed uppercuts.
* Super Punch-Out is quite lacking in the funnies but their animations when your opponents try to beat the count after being knocked down can be humorous.
** If you knock down Bob Charlie quite quickly twice, he'll get up during the second countdown, shrugs, and then immediately falls down giving you the knockout.
** Administering a quick first beatdown to Mr. Sandman results in him quickly getting up, followed by quickly spinning around and falling back down as he realizes he's not as resilient as he thought.
** If Super Macho Man actually knocks you down, he'll pull a bunch of poses while you try to get up.
** It's extremely hard to do, but if you knock down Nick Bruiser twice with such severity, on his second knockdown, he does his glove-to-head bash but immediately falls down on his knee at 10, giving you the knockout. Heck, the champion of Super Punch Out getting ''knocked-out'' is funny on itself.
* In Super Punch Out, doing a counter punch to the face (countering when the opponent tries a jab) results in some pretty funny facial expressions as the opponents are stopped mid punch.
