* The series itself is officially branded as a "Magical Transformation Comedy", meaning even little things like the calling cards tend to come with punchlines:
** Chapter 3/Episode 4: Saint Tail writes it on his face while he's sleeping, which initially gets him to freak out... before he decides he doesn't want to wash it off.
** Chapter/Episode 7: written in a bizarrely flirtatious lunchbox that makes Asuka Jr. weirded out while the other boys in class demand to eat it.
** Chapter/Episode 8: a note hidden in a soccer ball that explodes in Asuka Jr.'s face after he gets whacked by it. Meimi is concerned if he's even going to be able to read it at all at that point.
** Chapter/Episode 9: posted as a large notice in the classroom's bulletin wall, getting Asuka Jr. so distracted by it that he walks right into another wall.
** Chapter/Episode 10: explodes out of Asuka Jr.'s egg as he was preparing breakfast (with the word "peep" on it). The calling card is still burnt by the time he gives it to Takamiya. A later non-calling card note comes out of a can of soda that explodes while he's coping with being [[{{Gaslighting}} gaslighted]] about Saint Tail's identity.
** Chapter 11/Episode 3: Asuka Jr. is caught sleeping in class, and is forced to read out loud from the book... ''and reads out loud Saint Tail's message sneaked in the book''. [[{{Beat}} It takes him a few seconds to realize what he just did.]]
** Episode 14: written on a package of hanpen that Asuka Jr. had pulled out while grocery shopping, weirding him out regarding how Saint Tail would know his preferences in oden.
** Episode 17: posted on the wall of an art classroom while Asuka Jr. is cleaning, resulting in him accidentally modifying it with a paintbrush stroke to imply that Saint Tail wants the "heart" of the school's ChickMagnet instead of a notebook...
** Episode 21: only delivered to Asuka Jr. after he follows a bunch of street signs that lead him to smash into a wall saying "good work!" (he calls this one out as her toying with him).
** Episode 22: parachuted down from a toy UFO right after he'd gotten in a debate with Meimi over whether [=UFOs=] are real
** Episode 26: explodes out of a soccer ball hitting Asuka Jr.'s face again, only this time ''[[EpicFail Asuka Jr. himself kicked it]]'' (with a double take to assure us that yes, Asuka Jr. really did it... and he wasn't even playing this time).
** Episode 27: [[CovertPervert written on Asuka Jr.'s bath towel]] (somehow, the only thing he's concerned about is the short notice she sent it on).
** Episode 34: skywritten with fireworks in such a hasty and outlandish way that even Asuka Jr. comments on it.
** Episode 35: explodes out of a strange-looking flower that had showed up as a "delivery" in his yard.
** Episode 36: written on his popsicle stick in a way of giving him a calling card as a "prize", prompting him to realize he'd ''licked'' the calling card and getting the other boys to want to lick it.
** Episode 43: 'a zeppelin in front of the whole city...whole city''... that accidentally hits Rosemary's BerserkButton by having her EmbarrassingFirstName on it (something Lucifer had originally done to spite Rosemary but had been merely copied accidentally on Meimi's part). This is immediately followed by Rosemary swearing to make her pay for this, scaring the patrons of a restaurant with her rage-generated BattleAura. Even better, because Rosemary's EmbarrassingFirstName isn't exactly very embarrassing unless you ''go out of your way'' to make it embarrassing, the patrons have absolutely no idea what got her to be so angry all of a sudden.
* Saint Tail {{Gaslighting}} Takamiya and Asuka Jr. into thinking that she's an adult man leads to them being so frozen in shock that neither of them are able to function for the rest of the night (and Takamiya until the next morning). Takamiya ''still'' continues to believe Saint Tail is an adult man until at least very late in the series.
* The very first caper depicted in the series gets exposed by the AssholeVictim complaining about how hard it was to scam the owner out of the painting.
* Chapter 4/Episode 12:
** Saint Tail is informed that she'll need to steal a pet named "Tama", which is described as "black in color, with a ribbon". She makes the natural assumption that Tama must be a cat... only to find that it's [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes a giant lizard that she's absolutely terrified of]]. She ends up having to make it levitate out (and in the anime, she doesn't even succeed on the first try).
** In the anime version, Detective Asuka attempting to chase Saint Tail lands him a midnight bath in the river. In ''winter''.
** In the manga, Asuka Jr. is so emotionally compromised by Saint Tail not sending a calling card that he starts devolving into saying things like "why a secret giant lizard..." incoherently.
** Asuka Jr. then tries to get Saint Tail's attention by ''hijacking the evening news''.
** After being summoned by Asuka Jr. on pain of having her identity revealed, Saint Tail shows up to the park and follows Seira's advice in trying to intimidate him with her magic. Asuka Jr.'s reaction is... to call her on the cell phone he placed for her use and yell at her to cut it out, before revealing it was all a bluff.
* Chapter/Episode 5:
** Asuka Jr. approaches Meimi to ask about Wonder Castle and the puppets there, which are said to bring happiness to any couple who watches it together. Meimi starts excitedly wondering if he's about to ask her out... before he rudely asks how much they're worth, because his head is so full of Saint Tail that he can only think about the night's caper. Neimi is not amused. (Bonus points when taking into account the RewatchBonus implying that the reason he'd gotten so obsessed was that Meimi had claimed she'd only take him seriously if he caught Saint Tail earlier in the chapter/episode; she dug her own hole with this one!)
** From the same episode: the parade of Saint Tails gets Asuka Jr. to desperately yell at the park owner demanding to know if they have a Saint Tail parade there (of course they don't).
* Chapter/Episode 6:
** In the anime version of events, Asuka Jr. decides to run away to plan to capture Saint Tail while Takamiya ''gives chase'' to find out who Saint Tail is (she has just arrived in town). He refuses out of spite, but Takamiya convinces him thanks to her very persuasive [[WrestlerInAllOfUs Octopus Stretch and Boston Crab]].
* When Takamiya reveals that Asuka Jr. can't keep her off the Saint Tail case because she has {{Nepotism}} on her side, the boys all flinch, with the manga version even wondering [[PaintingTheMedium why she's glowing all of a sudden]].
** In the manga version of events, Takamiya says that apparently she would have been "flirting" with Asuka Jr. harder if she hadn't initially mistaken him for an elementary school kid, getting to completely blow a fuse sarcastically yelling how helpful that is.
** In the same chapter/episode, Asuka Jr. is organizing the surveillance on Saint Tail's next target. When Takamiya butts in again, [[TemptingFate he tells her that she's not authorized and has to go home]]... until she whips out letter from her uncle the mayor telling Asuka Jr. to let her help. To drive in the irony, the letter says that she'll "probably be very useful".
** During Saint Tail's caper, Rina butts in with the excuse her family has loaned paintings to the targeted museum. At one point as they chase Saint Tail, Takamiya reveals she lied... and Asuka Jr. ends up hitting a wall face-first before spitting out [[{{Malaproper}} incoherent mangled idioms]].
** After Takamiya's tear gas attack, Asuka Jr. protects her by clutching her even at risk of breathing in the gas himself. Saint Tail can't bring herself to escape, but fortunately, Asuka Jr. can't see her... because his eyes are full of tears. Not just because of the gas, but also because he was ''scared shitless''.
* Chapter/Episode 8:
** The anime version of events has Meimi pull out her own (very terribly scored) math test in place of the tickets she was supposed to have for the upcoming game.
** Asuka Jr.'s reaction to finding out that his favorite baseball pitcher's glove was stolen, followed by Takamiya's face at losing the tickets.
* Chapter/Episode 9:
** Apparently, TransformationIsAFreeAction does not apply to it being very hard to do ''quietly''.
** Saint Tail reaches the wedding contest stage by... hiding under the skirt of another contestant.
** While pretending to be Meimi in order to fabricate an alibi for her, Seira has to wear the wedding dress that Meimi is modeling with, and comments on [[NaughtyNuns the irony of wearing one as a nun]].
** Saint Tail has to steal the gown while the model is still wearing it... and thus replaces it with a ridiculous dinosaur costume.
** How does Saint Tail cover her escape? She throws a dozen bouquets, causing half the girls in the audience to trample Asuka Jr. while trying to catch them. But what about Takamiya? [[NotSoAboveItAll She was too busy grabbing a bouquet to give chase.]]
* Chapter/Episode 10:
** Meimi makes a borderline FreudianSlip saying that if Asuka Jr. and Takamiya are going to make a bet on Saint Tail's identity, she sure doesn't want to get ''caught'' now, leading Seira to question whether this means Meimi wanted to get caught beforehand. An extremely flustered Meimi can only yell otherwise.
** Asuka Jr. isn't entirely sure what to make of Saint Tail giving him a pseudo-LoveConfession in the form of "if I had to be caught, I'd want tob e caught by you," and the manga tops it off by [[ObliviousToLove making fun of him for not getting it]].
* Chapter 11/Episode 3:
** Meimi describes going to see Ruby as a "date", mystifying Ryoko and Kyoko. It later turns out that she'd been planning on getting Ruby for some "hedgehog magic", something Seira is mystified by (but which Saint Tail [[BrickJoke uses later in the episode anyway]]).
** While on the elevator with Hayase, Asuka Jr. sees Saint Tail in the other elevator and mentally begs for to turn so he could see her face... And then she does, but she holds Ruby in front of her face to blow a raspberry.
* Chapter 12/Episode 11:
** The boys stuff Asuka Jr. in a money pouch. He's irritated that they even think this is funny. Later in the episode, they stuff him ''and'' Sawatari in them for good measure.
** Meimi's classmates try to force a Saint Tail costume on her against her protests, and Asuka Jr. steps in to get them to back off, especially because he thinks it's weird to be making a costume out of a phantom thief to begin with... but unfortunately, the way he phrases this is by implying that [[YourCostumeNeedsWork putting one on Meimi would be ruining Saint Tail's image]].
** Later during the festival, Asuka Jr. is chasing fake Saint Tails up and down the school, until he barges into a classroom where ''all of the girls in school'' are dressed as Saint Tail, even running a campaign to get a whole million of them.
** Sawatari tries to hide his camera film (the target for the heist) in his locker, but is soon accosted by a bunch of first-year fangirls who want his lock (since hanging one on the school roof fence will supposedly get the owner to dance with you). Since he only has one lock, the girls have now brought a ton of their own to hang on his locker door so they can get redefined as "Sawatari's locks" if they stay there long enough, and he's such an AttentionWhore that he doesn't even have it in him to tell them to stop.
** After noticing Asuka Jr.'s locker is open, he decides to hide the film inside it, since he thinks [[WhatDoesSheSeeInHim no girl would ever want to dance with Asuka Jr.]] He can barely hide the film inside before Takamiya shows up and scares him into accidentally closing the lock. Taklamiya complains that she can't get Asuka Jr.'s lock anymore, completely mystifying Sawatari.
** Once Takamiya goes back to complain about what Sawatari had done, not only is Asuka Jr. so terribly dense with romance matters that he doesn't even know what the locks are for, he even gets close to giving it to Takamiya for that reason. He then suddenly retracts it, getting Meimi to be hopeful for a bit... before he says it's because he forgot the combination.
* How did Meimi get permission to buy and keep her pet hedgehog Ruby? Easy: she proposed the name Ruby after her mother's engagement ring, and took advantage of her parents' attack of romanticism.
* Chapter/Episode 13:
** Sawatari blames Saint Tail for the theft of a mirror and publishes it on the school newspaper. Two seconds after they find out, Meimi and Asuka Jr. rise up at the same time, grab his arms, and haul him away for interrogation. Asuka Jr. is so upset at him that he starts [[MaliciousMisnaming maliciously calling him a monkey]] for the rest of the series.
** Sawatari claims that nothing will ''ever'' get him to rewrite a story... until a Saint Tail calling card appears, getting him to claim it for his "scoop". Later in the episode, he tries to claim that nothing will get him to spill about "top-secret" information, only for him to start blabbering the moment Meimi asks him about it (in front of a very unamused Asuka Jr.).
** To try and milk him for information, Meimi feigns interest in Sawatari's job as SchoolNewspaperNewsHound only to be told, to her horror, that Sawatari has just fallen in love with her because [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe she was the only girl nice enough to look past his looks]]. Meanwhile, Asuka Jr. is standing outside and is ''just'' about to excuse himself over (effectively) not wanting to be a CrazyJealousGuy... only for Sawatari to start aggressively smothering Meimi, leading to Asuka Jr. barging in to bang a bucket over Sawatari's head before he's able to ask Meimi out.
* Episode 14 (the first of the various {{Filler}}s):
** Meimi becomes enthusiastic about helping John and Minako, fantasizing about them being StarCrossedLovers (based on her having recently seen one about them). Seira is bemused about Meimi projecting on them like this... only for it to turn out that they ''really are'' lovers.
** [[ItMakesSenseInContext Ruby on a tricycle]].
** Saint Tail appears on Tatsuo's video game console to berate him for the theft.
** Saint Tail steals the bike and starts flying away on it with the help of some balloons, making an effective ShoutOut to ''Film/{{ET}}'' [[OhCrap Then she notices a crow looking at the balloons]]...
* Episode 15:
** Right at the start of episode 15, Meimi chases Little for running off with her meat bun, only to end up humiliated herself.
** Later in the episode, Saint Tail supposedly appears, hanging onto her balloons. Asuka Jr. gives chase, grabs her... And has an OhCrap when realizes it's a decoy that, as usual, promptly explodes.
* Episode 16:
** Saint Tail's target is stealing a prominent chef, and to pull it off, she needs to distract both the police ''and'' a group of gangsters exploiting the restaurant for money laundering in order to sell poached animals. What does she do? She transforms all the meat dishes into cartoonish versions of the live animals and has it attack the police, gangsters and chef to create a distraction. And when Asuka Jr. runs with the chef, she replaces the chef's arm he was holding with a rubber arm.
** The sheer image of the chef hanging from Saint Tail's balloons must be seen to be believed.
* Episode 17:
** After Meimi starts having a {{Tsundere}} reaction to the idea of giving Asuka Jr. any ChocolateOfRomance, Asuka Jr. is so insensitive that he completely dismisses the idea of getting any at all to wanting takoyaki instead.
** Asuka Jr. is a childhood friend of the local ChickMagnet, but is irritated by his very presence, partially because he's an excessively wishy-washy airhead... but also because he's a year younger and OneHeadTaller than the [[TheNapoleon noticeably short]] Asuka Jr.
** Tohru's way of flaunting his good looks involves recommending this most photogenic angles.
** Later, a mishap causes Saint Tail's calling card to be misread as her "[[MistakenForFlirting taking Tohru's heart]]", and even the infamously dense Asuka Jr. starts having inklings about what that would mean... but is ''so deeply'' in denial that it could possibly be true (something that, to his credit, [[CassandraTruth he's technically correct about]]) that he goes out of his way trying to find some other explanation. Meanwhile, Tohru is so much of a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} that he comes up with suggestions like Saint Tail [[LiteralMinded operating on his literal heart]] before the most obvious idea comes to mind.
** Tohru's antics to properly "receive" Saint Tail, while Asuka Jr.'s incoming jealousy gets him to start entertaining the idea that ''being arrested'' would be a better fate for Saint Tail than having to date someone like Tohru.
** Once Saint Tail clears up the misunderstanding, Asuka Jr.'s face is a mix of embarrassment and ''sheer relief''.
* Chapter 14/Episode 19:
** At the start of episode 19, Meimi and her classmates are talking about what they'd take with them to run away from a CometOfDoom hitting Earth. Sawatari takes the opportunity to flirt with Meimi by declaring they'll "flee to the ends of the Earth" together, an act that's so cringeworthy that even the entire class is wincing.
** In the anime, Meimi catches her parents watching a movie about Earth being destroyed by a comet, which they watch in a SickeninglySweethearts mood because they'd watched it during their first date. Then, in a BrickJoke at the end of the episode, Saint Tail dupes the scientist of the local observatory into believing a piece of a comet is about to hit them by showing them that movie through their instruments' screens. Made funnier by Asuka Jr.'s face when he notices the ''VHS player'' linked to the instruments, getting him to protest "Is this even allowed?!"
* Episode 20:
** Meimi is sitting under a tree, fantasizing about being an explorer. Cue terror when [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes a lizard]] falls on the book on her lap. Immediately after, a passing Asuka Jr. mocks Meimi for her fear and throws the lizard behind him, [[OhCrap right on the face of one of the teachers]], who sentences him to cleaning the chicken coop before fainting.
** Professor Hyuga brags that he has no need for the Asukas to help him in stopping Saint Tail, for he has a secret weapon: his assistants making a bad Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}} shout-out. Sure, the backpacks are actually tranquillizer guns, but they look ''ridiculous''.
** Before the confrontation, Hyuga swears his technology will allow him to either capture Saint Tail or reveal her identity, or he'll shave his head bald. [[BrickJoke Near the end of the episode]], we see Asuka Jr. cackling as he reads a newspaper showing a picture of Hyuga with his head bald.
* Episode 22: Ryoko and Kyoko use InsaneTrollLogic to conclude that a UFO coming to Seika means Saint Tail must be a phantom thief from outer space. Seira and Meimi can only react with exasperation.
* Episode 25:
** Asuka Jr. has been taken off the case and replaced by Kaede Kitamura, an inspector from Tokyo Metropolitan Police who uses electronic trackers to chase Saint Tail. As Saint Tail is committing a caper, Takamiya is bugging her uncle to get Asuka Jr. back on the case, but the mayor replies that by then Kitamura must have already caught Saint Tail... Cue Kitamura breaking in the room, accusing 'Takamiya'', of all people, of being Saint Tail, and engaging her in an epic contest at throwing each other across the room, with the mayor and Kitamura's sidekick wondering what the hell is happening and Ruby (who had brought the tracker there) just watching there laughing her ass off. Needless to say, Asuka Jr. gets the case back by the end of the episode.
** After meeting Kitamura, Sawatari decides to tell the class everything about her, including her body measurements.
* Episode 26:
** Right at the start, Meimi is almost run over by a luxury car. The guy on it, Ryutaro Tomikoji, comes out to see if Meimi needs help, looks at her completely charmed by her beauty... before [[OffScreenTeleportation his butler appears from nowhere right on Meimi's face]] and apologizes. This continues [[RunningGag multiple times]] over the course of the episode.
** Ryutaro has fallen for Meimi, and shows up at her school requesting the headmaster's permission to take her out. The headmaster has no problems with it (because Ryutaro, being the son of a very rich woman, [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney has offered a generous contribution to the school in exchange]]), and pressures Meimi to make her agree... by blackmailing her with her tardiness that morning.
** To try and get rid of him during the date, [[ImpossibleTask Meimi decides to ask Ryotaro the impossible]], namely going to a restaurant with an obnoxiously long line, a very expensive musical, and then the Wonder Garden amusement park, all in a single day. To Meimi's annoyance, Mrs. Tomikoji is a sponsor of the restaurant and has reserved seats at the theatre of the musical.
** Saint Tail's target is an heirloom necklace someone named "Madame Ranko" stole from one of her employees. Upon learning of it, Meimi is happy to have something to do that doesn't involve Ryutaro... [[OhCrap Only to be horrified when she learns that Madame Ranko]] ''[[OhCrap Tomikoji]]'' [[OhCrap is Ryotaro's mother, and the only chance to steal it is to go at the party where Ryutaro wants to introduce her as his fiancée]].
** Of course, Meimi decides to ''not'' go at the party, and leaves from the window to go and sneak in. [[RunningGag The butler intercepts her]]. Meimi reasons that at this point, she might as well not waste the nice dress it comes with.
** How does Saint Tail escape Asuka Jr. this time? By dropping a hypnotized Ryutaro on him.
** For recovering the necklace (actually the same fake she had given to the real owner), Madame Ranko decides to give him anything he asks. Ryutaro, not being a complete idiot, takes the chance to refuse the ArrangedMarriage she wanted for him, because he wants to marry... ''Saint Tail''. According to the butler, [[OhNoNotAgain it happens with depressing regularity]]. Meimi is not amused at basically having been a toy the entire episode.
* Chapter 16/Episode 30:
** Sawatari drops a "[[ThatCameOutWrong special]]" photo of Meimi, causing Asuka Jr. to downright ''panic'' with (to quote the manga) "[[CovertPervert the active imagination of a 14-year-old boy.]]" (Fortunately, it's just a normal one.)
** Soon after, Asuka jr. has been told that Ruby is a plushie. He doesn't want to let Meimi go and end his questioning, but is stopped by Sawatari on the grounds that [[HypocriticalHumor being too pushy will turn Meimi off]], something that just [[MoreInsultingThanIntended drives in the knife further]] for Asuka Jr.'s fear of invading her space.
** Later, Sawatari offers Asuka Jr. his help into finding out if Ruby is a plushie or not. The resulting scene is a ''disaster'' with Sawatari trying to exploit the situation to ask Meimi on a date, Asuka Jr. lashing out in protective jealousy, Takamiya trying to latch onto Asuka Jr. regarding making him Valentine's chocolate (manga)/food for his night patrol (anime), setting off Meimi's jealousy and getting her to accept Sawatari's date on a whim... leading Seira to [[ThisIsGonnaSuck look on in dread]] while Asuka Jr. is mortified at the realization that Meimi had actually ''willingly accepted'' one of Sawatari's advances.
** Meimi figures that she can get by with the farce of getting Ruby to [[ToyDisguise disguise as a plush]]... only for Seira to point out that [[OhCrap they're out of stock]].
** Asuka Jr. puts on an EmbarrassingAnimalSuit under the pretense of needing to stake out for the Saint Tail caper (anime)/check to see if Ruby is a plush or not (both). He is [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial not bothered by Meimi and Sawatari being together]], he swears.
** Meimi sees through Asuka Jr. in the plush fox disguise because he's apparently [[GeekPhysiques apocalyptically clumsy]] to recognizable extents.
** In the manga version, Asuka Jr. takes note of Saint Tail having sent him a Valentine's gift but, perceiving it only as shallow flirting, [[IfOnlyYouKnew jokes about the idea of Saint Tail actually liking him]] to Meimi. Meimi understandably has very mixed feelings about this.
* Chapter 17/Episode 27:
** Takamiya is, apparently, still convinced that Saint Tail is an adult man DisguisedInDrag -- and takes this to be reason Asuka Jr. shouldn't be chasing "him" anymore, as if the chase is only supposed to be a romantic pursuit for him.
** Asuka Jr. takes the calling card back from Takamiya, and Takamiya is startled... about the fact [[OneHeadTaller he's gotten taller]].
** In the anime, Genichiro [[BoyfriendBlockingDad freaks out at the idea of Meimi having a boyfriend]], leading Meimi to point out that Meimi's never said she likes a certain boy. This leads Genichiro to conclude that [[MistakenForGay Meimi must be into girls]], and an exasperated Meimi can only respond by [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere retiring to her room]].
** Meimi is forced to participate in the idol contest thanks to Sawatari's pushiness, and not only is she really not up for being there, she gets sent into a full-on LuminescentBlush when she's asked about her "ideal type" of boy ''right in front of Asuka Jr.''... leading her to blurt out "someone like my father!" before realizing that [[EpicFail she'd just instantly failed the audition this way]]. After all the contestants have been questioned, Meimi returns as Saint Tail... and the benefit of having her identity hidden means she can now act completely different without self-consciousness. (This ends up being subject to CerebusRetcon later when it turns out that Asuka Jr. is [[StepfordSmiler well aware of the implications of this]] and is ''very'' disturbed by them.)
** Still upset at having gone overboard with his HairTriggerTemper earlier, Asuka Jr. tries to appeal to Meimi and get her to stop with the idol business by going "...if I were your father..." [[ObliviousToLove The full implications of this still go completely over Meimi's head.]]
* Chapter 19/Episode 29:
** Asuka Jr. and Saint Tail are both captured by the villains, who lock them in a room. As soon as they decide to form an EnemyMine to get back the stolen object of the episode, Saint Tail opens the window and jumps out. Asuka Jr. jumps behind her in panic about her jumping out a second-floor window... until he misses and Saint Tail is flying on her balloons.
** In the anime, just as Asuka Jr. is about to escape with the Swan, Yabe grabs Asuka Jr. by the leg to keep him from getting away. He gets a kick in the face, but he says he didn't feel a thing. Cue a few dozen kicks and two broken teeth.
* In episode 31, Sawatari manages to take a picture of Saint Tail, but when he and Asuka Jr. try to process the picture... they end up with a photo of themselves in an embarrassing position during the caper, because Meimi had swapped out the film.
* Episode 33:
** Saint Tail manages to bamboozle the police officers with ''multiple'' levels of mind game, with the "balloon" that had fallen in front of them deflating and doing absolutely nothing... ''right'' up until they finally decide it's safe enough to get close, leading to it [[SchmuckBait promptly exploding glue on them]].
** Saint Tail is facing a whole Kendo dojo. [[CurbStompBattle She defeats them in five seconds and has them do a line dance]], complaining that they don't have any female dancers to fill the set.
* Episode 34:
** The episode's villain, a man named Soma, cheats his way into taking the thoroughbred horse Billy from his owner by scaring said horse into (allegedly) breaking the leg of one of his own racehorses (a lie, but backed by a forged medical report). But how did he scare Billy? Easy: he took off his hat and ''showed off his shining BaldOfEvil''. (It's only later when we find out that he was signaling to a man with a slingshot.)
* Episode 35:
** Saint Tail uses stage magic to simulate [[WhenTreesAttack a tree getting furious at having the owner of its nature park carving it up]]. The man is absolutely ''mortified''... but Asuka Jr. has [[PragmaticHero seen way too many of Saint Tail's tricks]] to be remotely fazed.
** Saint Tail is flying away with the tree, and Asuka Jr. and the cops are giving chase... until she warns him to look where he's going when he runs. They all promptly slam into a tree.
* Episode 36:
** The girls find out that Takamiya ''does'' have something she's afraid of: [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes bagworms]].
** Apparently, the Asuka family notoriously has "trouble with women", getting Asuka Jr. (who's still moping about having gotten Meimi mad at him earlier) to ''throw a plate at his dad's teeth'' for bringing it up.
** The episode ends on the note of Asuka Jr. giving Sawatari a flying kick for taking an embarrassing photo with him, complete with FunnyBruceLeeNoises.
* Episode 37:
** Detective Asuka becomes abnormally motivated in catching Saint Tail to try and impress visiting FairCop Tomoko Nagata. Later, when Asuka Jr. is still trying to show her around the town, Detective Asuka is ''still'' trying to court her, and shows up declaring he'll show her an adult's hospitality. Then, to Asuka Jr. and Tomoko's embarrassment, he produces a bouquet of red roses... but before Asuka Jr. can properly scold him, the bouquet explodes and produces a calling card from Saint Tail.
** Sugawara declares at a press conference that Saint Tail has been misinformed about him having the painting ''Wings of Freedom'' (which he had bought and then switched with a fake to cheat money from the art dealers, Tomoko's parents) and swears to God he doesn't have it. ''Then'' he notices that Saint Tail has hung the painting right behind him...
* Episode 38:
** [[ThoseTwoGuys Ryoko and Kyoko]] have decided to try and arrest Saint Tail before Asuka Jr. can do it. Unfortunately, not only do they try to recruit Meimi herself, they even [[IfOnlyYouKnew ask her for her advice]] in how Saint Tail would think.
** Ryoko and Kyoko's first plan is to catch Saint Tail as she delivers a calling card... and immediately identify a young boy as Saint Tail, just because a fly ball from the baseball game he'd been in had hit Asuka Jr. in the head. Meanwhile, the ''actual'' Saint Tail uses the commotion to get the real calling card in Asuka Jr.'s pocket.
** Ryoko and Kyoko's second attempt has them butting in when Saint Tail actually attempts the caper, but they do so by jumping in so obviously that Asuka Jr. ends up becoming the most responsible person in the vicinity. Then they started throwing raw eggs at Saint Tail-shaped balloons.
** Ruby has to cover for Meimi by using a pre-recorded tape casette player, making one wonder how CrazyPrepared they must have been.
* Chapter 20/Episode 39:
** Sawatari is so smitten by the sight of both Meimi ''and'' Seira that he starts [[SmallNameBigEgo deluding himself]] into believing he's about to put Meimi and Seira in a LoveTriangle, then making a prayer to the Lord to "forgive him" for his sins. Cue Asuka Jr. and Rina inviting themselves in the outing Sawatari had planned only for himself, Rina and Meimi.
** In the anime, Sawatari tries to protest that he only has five tickets... only for a {{Beat}} to pass and for him to realize there really are exactly five people about to go.
** Also in the anime, when Asuka Jr. manages to pull Meimi onto the elevator, he completely disregards the fact that he'd just pushed another guy out.
** Sawatari declares that he'll do "anything" Seira wants, including... mastering [[ItMakesSenseInContext "any kind of breathing"]] for her sake.
* Chapter 22/Episode 41:
** Asuka Jr. gets teased to hell and back by his classmates about dating Meimi now, with them even claiming that he'd want to catch Saint Tail to impress Meimi. Even more ironically, if you go back through the early series, a RewatchBonus indicates that ''they're probably [[CassandraTruth exactly right]]'' (or at least, about the fact he thought like this at one point), hence why they end up hitting Asuka Jr.'s HairTriggerTemper so hard.
** Sawatari copes with having lost Meimi to Asuka Jr. by... immediately deciding Seira is his new biggest crush as if nothing had ever happened. Takamiya, meanwhile, decides that making Sawatari [[KarmicButtMonkey her new punching bag]] makes her feel better.
** Seira tells Meimi that if her capers ever become too painful, then she can take her place to Phantom Thief Saint Seira. This is accompanied by Meimi having an ImagineSpot of Seira in her outfit.
** Saint Tail is confronting Maju, who whips out her scent-based hypnosis. Saint Tail is mortified... but briefly identifies it as "toilet scent". Maju angrily retorts that it's ''lavender'', thank you very much.
* Chapter 23/Episode 42:
** Upon seeing her mother's old calling card, Meimi comments that [[HypocriticalHumor her mom was quite a show-off]].
** Meimi's visit to Pandora: she's greeted by Maju wearing a ''snake hair wig'', Rosemary's first reaction to Meimi is to [[CutenessProximity hug her for her cuteness]], and turns out to have the exact same rant against Lucifer that Eimi had against her in return. Also, Rosemary considers her real name to be such an EmbarrassingFirstName that it's her BerserkButton, despite it being so obscurely difficult to read that Meimi has no idea Rosemary would even consider it to be offensive until after a {{Beat}}. Then, finally, Rosemary and Maju tease Meimi about blaming Saint Tail for her crimes to her face so hard that Meimi blows a fuse and decides ItsPersonal.
** To get revenge for Meimi hitting her BerserkButton, Rosemary goes to kidnap Asuka Jr.... [[RunningGag But not without]] [[CutenessProximity hugging him for his cuteness]], [[MoodWhiplash before returning to acting creepy]].
** Saint Tail's payback to Maju for all the crap she'd put her through (the one she knows about, at least): curtain ghosts.
* Chapter 24/Episode 43:
** While comforting Meimi on Asuka Jr.'s disappearance, Takamiya comments that Asuka Jr. is probably still eating when he needs to eat and sleeping when he needs to sleep. As it turns out, [[CutawayGag that's exactly what he's doing]], despite being locked up in a tower forced to mull over the revelation of Saint Tail's identity.
** Maju's exasperated reaction to [[ObliviousToLove Asuka Jr.'s infamous denseness]]: "Boys are so dumb..."
** The one who helps Asuka Jr. get the key back is none other than Ruby, who does so by jumping on Maju's ''face'' to attack her.
* The third anime ending, "Dreaming Melody", is accompanied by a video that starts showing pictures of the various characters. At one point, there's a picture of Takamiya pissed off while Sawatari looks smug... before they're promptly replaced by one of Takamiya having just punched him while Sawatari holds his head in pain.
* The prequel manga chapter showing how Meimi first met Seira and Asuka Jr. and started going around as Saint Tail:
** Meimi's magic abilities are accidentally exposed when she tries to perform in secret and summons a kangaroo with a bowtie... only to be spotted by Seira and a nearby young boy.
** Meimi has her very first fight with Asuka Jr. over whether stage magic is a scam or not... befire Seira terrifies Meimi by praising her, leading a flustered Meimi trying to desperately cover it up.
** Asuka Jr. finds out about the boy having stolen the key and learns that he'd done it because his friends had challenged him to prove himself as "strong" by stealing something from the chapell. Asuka Jr. tells him that this isn't exactly going to do anything to make him strong, and that there's no way he could have seen a kangaroo in a bowtie... [[InstantlyProvenWrong right before he sees a horde of bowtie-wearing kangaroos]]. ''Dancing''.
** After Saint Tail leaves, the kid decides to label her as a PhantomThief, all while Asuka Jr. is ''crying in despair because he can't understand what had just happened''.
** The day after, Seira shows Meimi the school journal with a bad picture of her dubbing her a PhantomThief, and, in an instance of SureLetsGoWithThat, tells her she would go by Saint Tail and [[JustLikeRobinHood steal stolen things and give them back to their legitimate owners]], all while talking about appropriating the confessional with a smile and whipping out a "Lamb List" like she'd been planning this the whole time. Meimi is ''not'' amused.
** How does the chapter end? With Asuka Jr. reading about kangaroos to make sense of Saint Tail's trick while his father ([[TheGhost in his]] ''[[TheGhost only]]'' [[TheGhost appearance in the manga]]) threatened to disown him if he tried to raise a kangaroo.
