''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog'' is known by many to be a horror-comedy series. Just like some episodes tend to avoid the comedy part of its horror-comedy status, resulting in NightmareFuel, these episodes tend to avoid the ''horror'' angle of its horror-comedy status, resulting in hilarious moments... and as befitting a horror-comedy, [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs some have both.]] Here are some examples:
----
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:General]]
* The RunningGag of Eustace using his witch doctor mask to scare Courage. In one episode, he even uses it to scare away the jam monster.
-->'''Eustace''': (''puts on the witch doctor mask'') OOGA BOOGA BOOGA!!\
'''Courage''': ''AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!''
** Of course, there are plenty of times when Muriel will whollop him over the head for scaring Courage.
--->'''Eustace''': OW! [[NeverMyFault What did I do]]?
* Anytime Courage laughs at his own AmusingInjuries.
* Anything the computer snarks is simply hilarious:
-->'''Computer''': If Johnny has three apples and Davie has two apples, why don't they just shut up and eat?
* Whatever comes out of the stereotypical Indian Dr. Vindaloo's mouth is a gem.
-->'''Dr. Vindaloo''': [[CharacterCatchphrase Oh, there's nothing to worry about.]] [[BlatantLies Nothing at all!]] [[BrutalHonesty But there's nothing I can do.]]
* Every time Di Lung says his catchphrase despite usually being the one who isn't paying attention. His vocal delivery is what sells it.
-->'''Di Lung''': Watch where you're going, ya fool!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 1]]
[[AC:"Cajun Granny Stew"]]
* The whole thing plays like a WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes episode, and it pulls the humor off in flying colors.
** The reason why Fox Cajun always wears dark glasses is to hide his huge comically large eyes (image above).
** Courage being tossed [[AssShove seat-first]] onto a fountain. More specifically, onto the hand of the mermaid statue on top.
** The Cajun Fox has kidnapped Muriel and is getting away in a steamroller, so Courage tries to stop him with the old fake detour trick: he switches around a Road Closed sign so that the Fox will drive into a bunch of rocks instead of going the right way. [[SubvertedTrope The fox doesn't buy it]], runs over the sign and Courage, [[DoubleSubversion and then immediately falls off a cliff]].
*** "That dog is becoming a real pain in my--" ''[[CurseCutShort (voice muffled as he sinks into the lake)]]''
** "I was born lucky. [[TemptingFate You see? I win!]]" * WHAM*
*** Courage's AsideGlance telling the audience to keep quiet about the plan.
** "And I hate to fly!"
** "Nono! [[HoistByHisOwnPetard Fox stew is not for you!]]"
** "I'm rollin' this Granny in flour...makin' the dish of the hour..."
** The plane scene, where the fox displays a Courage-worthy toothy scream-twice in the space of about 30 seconds.
** Courage and the Fox futilely attempting to stop Muriel from sleepwalking off the side of the plane..only for her to walk underneath it...upside down.
--->'''Cajun Fox:''' (''after seeing Muriel under the wing'') [[BlatantLies ...I knew she was there all along.]]\
'''Courage:''' [[SarcasmMode Oh yeah, yeah.]]
** At one point, Muriel is catapulted hundreds of feet into the air and briefly wakes up. She observes her current surroundings and simply concludes that she's "[[DreamsOfFlying having one of those floating dreams]]" [[ComicallyMissingThePoint before going right back to sleep]].

[[AC:"The Shadow of Courage"]]
* Eustace has been convinced that Courage is making fun of him by the LivingShadow. He chases Courage to the kitchen and starts cartoonishly throttling him, telling him to "say 'uncle'!". Then Muriel dashes in in full MamaBear mode, OneWomanWail in the background, as she bonks Eustace with her rolling pin (off-camera). As she leaves the kitchen, Courage (who she's holding in her arms), quietly remarks "...Uncle?"
** The scene where the shadow briefly takes the form of Muriel to mess with Courage, then randomly rips 'her' head off, [[BlackComedy is funny in a darker sense]]. There's even a bit of blood gushing out, and Courage's scream is predictably louder than the last one.
** The poor shadow going through a VillainousBreakdown when Courage keeps turning his flashlight on and off. The terrifying images he had been showing Courage go from scary to silly until eventually he just screams "STOOOOOP ALREADY!!!!"
** Courage demands to know what the shadow did with Muriel. Turns out he didn't do anything to her and doesn't even know where she is. Cue a GilliganCut to Muriel walking out of the bathroom. Courage is surprised and the shadow is somewhat understandably offended at being accused of harming her.
*** And Eustace? He's outside hiding in his truck, with the shadow telling him that Eustace is a bigger coward than Courage.
* In "Dr. Le Quack Amnesia Specialist" Le Quack tries to rob Muriel when she has lost her memories so she can't report anything missing. But when he can't find anything to rob he decides to torture her to make her remember where everything is. His various tortures include TickleTorture, using a toy train to [[PieInTheFace smash pies into her]] and holding a stinky cheese in front of her.
** After all that, he actually does manage to get her memories back, but it was by [[NiceJobFixingItVillain complete accident]]. Before he chases Courage for the final time, he randomly bonks Muriel on the head with Eustace's mallet and then [[TakeThatKiss kisses her goodbye on the forehead in the spot he hit her]]. Once Courage unties Muriel she regains consciousness and has all her memories again.
** And Courage checks on Eustace who was bonked by Le Quack earlier, [[HereWeGoAgain also an amnesiac]]. Courage looks at him for a moment before smiling and leaving Eustace in the closet.

[[AC:"Courage Meets Bigfoot"]]
* Courage is worrying over the danger Muriel is in, and has a fantasy bubble of Bigfoot ''punting Muriel like a football, across the length of the field, and through the goal posts.''
** Later on, Courage and Bigfoot's food fight leads to them looking like fruit dancers and they actually start dancing together.

[[AC:"The Demon in the Mattress"]]
* Eustace reciting an exorcizing spell: "Hullabaloo, and howdy doo! Musty prawns, and Timbuktu! Yeltsy-by, and hibbety-hoo! Kick 'em in the dishpan! Hoo hoo hoo!!"
** Even better, after Eustace learns this, he turns to [[AsideGlance the audience]] and repeats "'[[WhoWritesThisCrap Kick 'em in the dishpan, hoo hoo hoo?]]'". He turns back to Courage who just shrugs and when Eustace fails, Courage does the spell himself, who all but slurs the chant in dog R's like Franchise/ScoobyDoo.
** "It would be lovely if I could have a cup... of... '''[[FauxHorrific TEA!]]'''" And immediately after, Courage screams, realizes what she said and wears a look that basically says "that's not scary!" [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lgl5XUXSb4 It's funnier than it sounds, trust us.]]

[[AC:"Freaky Fred"]]
* This part of "Freaky Fred," even though it was definitely a [[{{Pun}} freaky]] episode:
-->'''Freaky Fred:''' "Now now, [[NightmareRetardant you shouldn't play in the toilet.]]"
* From Fred's flashbacks, we have the [[DeathGlare reactions]] from his pet gerbil and his ex-girlfriend after he shaved them. Especially the way he narrates his ex-girlfriend's example.
-->'''Freaky Fred:''' The look on my beloved's face... was like lace, but in this case... I could tell she... ''[[{{Understatement}} needed space]]''...
* Fred's rather [[NotSoStoic surprised expression]] when he catches Courage trying to escape through the sink.
* And proving that [[EvenEvilHasStandards even deranged barbers have limits,]] "Afraid I'll shave your tail? That would be weird..."

[[AC:"Night of the Weremole"]]
* The whack-a-mole scene. And the MoodWhiplash it caused only added to the humor.
** And to think Eustace can't get any points in that scene because Weremole Muriel keeps on dodging his blows. That's likely not fair!
* While the moment is a terrifying jump scare, the SoundtrackDissonance of violins playing while Weremole Muriel is biting Doctor Vindaloo whole makes the moment come off as very slapstick.
* And while Courage is known for his {{Wild Take}}s, his reaction to seeing Weremole Muriel raiding the fridge and snarling at him starts out as one - and then he lets out a small whimper, [[HollywoodHeartAttack clutches his chest]], and keels over, prompting an AmbulanceCut. It's the AssPull that makes it so funny.

[[AC:"Mother's Day"]]
* The sight gag that makes Ma Bagge talking down to her son [[CrossesTheLineTwice so much funnier than it should be]].
-->'''Ma Bagge''': Your Pa was a ''real'' man! You can't fill his shoes!
-->[loud SmashCut to a '''gigantic''' [[LiteralMetaphor pair of shoes in the corner of the room]]]

[[AC:"The Duck Brothers"]]
* The "Rockem Sockem Robots"-style fight.
* The intermission of said fight where Courage explains the rules to the titular [[VillainOfTheWeek villains of the week.]] He prohibits (along with low blows, which prompted the pause) eye-poking, shin-kicking, and skull-bopping. All of which he demonstrated on the brothers with sound effects from ''Film/TheThreeStooges''. [[HoistByHisOwnPetard They then return the favor to let him know they get the gist.]]
* Courage trying (and failing) to use the Duck Brothers' MindControlDevice.
-->[cut to Muriel repeatedly running into the wall]\
[cut to Courage frantically pressing buttons on the remote]\
[cut back to Muriel, who is now walking on the ''ceiling'']
* ''(unexplained Austrian accent)'' "...DUCK!"
-->'''Cook''': Hey! Bring-a that duck back! What am I gonna serve?\
'''Courage''': (''Austrian accent'') Strudel.\
'''Cook''': Oh! Good idea!
* The fact that the Purple Duck keeps laying golden eggs despite Green telling him to stop and pointing out that they're brothers ([[MisterSeahorse and biologically incapable of even laying eggs]]). Yet Green turns out to be a hypocrite for not only throwing a stockpile of eggs at Courage, but [[NotSoAboveItAll laying eggs along with his brothers]], even as Purple and Red argue that he shouldn't question it.

[[AC:"King Ramses' Curse"]]
* King Ramses' second curse: A really annoying song (InUniverse at least). ''The man in gauze, the man in gauze! KING RAMSES! The man in gauze, the man in gauze! He's no Santa Claus!'' Considering that the first curse is flooding and the third is locusts, this is kind of [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Arson, Jaywalking, and Murder]].
** Even better: Ramses himself states that each plague will be "worse than the last". That's right: he somehow considered this to be ''worse than a flood''.
* "Judgin' by the markings and the obvious age of the relic, I'd have to say it's..... GARBAGE!"
** "Garbage! From King Garbage, of the Garbage Dynasty!"
** Then Eustace watches on TV that the same relic is worth a fortune. [[GilliganCut He quickly retrieves it after tossing it out, exclaiming "I'm RICH!"]]
*** Adding to this, a later scene has him rocking back and forth giddily, hugging the slab as he thinks about everything he'll be able to buy once he gets rich from this. The ''really'' funny part is that he's not planning on moving them into a mansion on a private island or something--no, it's all ''really tiny things'' that he can probably already afford but he's too miserly to spend money on otherwise, like sparkplugs, razorblades, and a new lightbulb for the attic.
* The [[FlatEarthAtheist absurd extremes of Eustace's insistence]] that King Ramses is just a ScoobyDooHoax rather than [[RealAfterAll an actual monster]], despite the separate supernatural and inexplicable experiences he has presumably already gone through, and despite King Ramses being one of the more unambiguously otherworldly antagonists to threaten the Bagges even in terms of animation style.
--> '''Eustace:''' Nice try, Professor! [''slams the door''] Who's he kidding? I can see the zipper on that cheap dime store costume.
* When the first curse is foiled, Ramses goes, "Aw, come on!"
** Most likely from the absurdity of a [[RuleOfFunny giant plug conveniently]] [[CrazyPrepared located in the basement]].
** Even better, he says it in the same tone and drawn out way as "Return the slab..."
* Eustace's shortsighted greed being a force so powerful that not even his implied death can contain it.
--> '''Eustace''': What's your offer?!

[[AC:"The Clutching Foot"]]
* "The Clutching Foot" starts off with Muriel attempting various "family remedies" to cure Eustace's fungus. Naturally, HilarityEnsues with a heaping dose of AmusingInjuries.
** The first "remedy" involves rubbing a cactus against his foot. After 20 seconds of [[AssholeVictim poor Eustace]] screaming, the only thing that happens is his foot swells up even more and now it's full of cactus barbs.
** The second one involves sticking his foot into a bucket full of live lobsters. It goes as well as expected.
** The third and final one involves dipping his foot into a vat of green chemical sludge full of unsavory crap like eyeballs, worms and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking used bandaids.]] All it does is burn his foot and causes it shrivel up like a raisin.

[[AC:"The Hunchback of Nowhere"]]
* Eustace tries insulting the Hunchback to leaving the table, and he just reads whatever Courage writes back as a comeback.
* "And you sir are extremely... bald."
** "Are you bald..? Yes."
** "Muriel, he called me bald!" "Oh Eustace, you ARE bald."
* There's also this:
--> '''Muriel:''' Eustace, have you no sense of hospitality?\
'''Eustace:''' [''with a big grin''] [[BluntNo Nope]].

[[AC:"The Gods Must Be Goosey"]]
* '''HONK HONK.'''
* "I am NOT his queen!"
* The ending:
-->'''Muriel:''' The Goose and Eustace's truck are getting married!\
(''outside to a depressed Eustace'')\
'''Eustace:''' I'm nothing without my truck! Come back to me, truck!

[[AC:"Queen of the Black Puddle"]]
* When the Queen controls Eustace into following her, it results in him sitting in a bucket and later putting his head into the bathtub's drain.
* After Courage rescues Eustace, Muriel happily hugs him before hitting him over the head for worrying her. Eustace is understandably confused over what happened.

[[AC:"Everyone Wants to Direct"]]
* There's something amusing about Benton's rather casual introduction; an [[PaperThinDisguise obviously rotting zombie wearing novelty glasses]] waving "hello" and the Bagges buy it completely.

[[AC:"Klub Katz"]]
* :
--> '''Muriel''': Boys, we're going on a cruise!\
'''Courage''': Yay!\
'''Eustace''': (''reading newspaper'') Blah blah blah! I'm not gettin' out of this chair!\
(''SmashCut to Eustace on the yacht, still on his armchair and reading his paper'')\
'''Eustace''': Nope, not gettin' out of this chair.
** Then a tidal wave occurs and causes the ship to tilt, sending Eustace and his chair flying into the ocean. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lar0fNuBA1U His response]]?
--->'''Eustace''': No sir, not gettin' out of this chair.
* "I say, don't you want your root beer?"
* The ending. After Courage rescues Muriel from Katz, Eustace sees the feline has his chair and after destroying it, Katz tries to [[NotSoStoic plead and]] [[AintTooProudToBeg beg Eustace to not hurt him.]]

[[AC:"The Revenge of the Chicken from Outer Space"]]
* As the chicken [[AsYouKnow shows Courage a film recapping the pilot]], we are shown how the chicken got cooked... [[ContinuitySnarl except here,]] it was "because" of Courage [[AdaptationalSelfDefense wrestling the gun from the chicken, and shooting him himself]][[note]]in the pilot, [[SelfServingMemory the chicken was the one who fired,]] [[PinballProjectile which Courage ducked, causing the blast to bounce back towards the chicken]][[/note]]. And given Courage's response was to awkwardly scratch the back of his head, it is ''heavily'' implied [[SoreLoser this was deliberate revisionism.]]
* The chicken's initial attempt at stealing Courage's head? Basically telling him to sit under the plunger.
-->'''Courage''': [[NoYou Make me!]]
-->'''Chicken''': [[RageBreakingPoint (throws pointer to the floor)]]
** And then the chicken switches tactics and tries removing ''Muriel's'' head, Courage manages to temporarily subvert this plan... [[CuttingTheKnot by just unplugging the UFO from a wall-socket in the barn.]]
* When Muriel gets abducted by the chicken, Courage attempts to get Eustace to do something to help. When Eustace refuses, Courage responds to this by [[TheDogBitesBack hitting Eustace]] with Muriel's slipper.
* While trying to escape the chicken (who now has Eustace's head), Courage slips and is holding for dear life leaving the chicken to start stepping on his paw. It the zooms out to show Courage safely on the ground as he lets go to send the chicken flying.

[[AC:"Journey to the Center of Nowhere"]]
* Courage is mistaken for a being called "The Great Eggplant" by an army of eggplants who plan to attack Muriel. Before he starts leading them away from Muriel, he does some warm-up exercises, each time saying "The Great Eggplant says..." In the one moment he doesn't say it, the Eggplants don't do what he does. The reason?
-->'''Bobby Ganoush:''' You didn't say "The Great Eggplant says".\
'''Courage:''' [[{{Touche}} Wow. That's a pretty sharp bunch of eggplants.]]

[[AC:"Little Muriel"]]
* ''Everything'' after Muriel gets de-aged. It helps that she sounds like [[WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}} Lil DeVille]] with a Scottish accent.
* When Courage carries her home, Muriel starts going on a rant of what she wants to do non-stop for the entire trip home.
* Courage goes to get Muriel a glass of water. When he comes back, he finds the rocking chair she was sitting in completely empty. Courage looks through a hole in the floor, and he sees Muriel in the basement, sitting on top of Eustace. When Eustace wakes up, Muriel introduces herself. Eustace gets confused, and he hits his head on a broken chunk of wood, knocking him unconscious once again. Muriel then proceeds to jump on Eustace screaming "I WANT AN EASTER EGG I WANT AN EASTER EGG I WANT AN EASTER EGG!" Then she complains that she's hungry.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdPGWEFa6UM The macaroni scene]] that follows afterwards is pure hilarity.
-->''(Courage prepares macaroni and cheese for Little Muriel, and puts the finished dish on the table for her to eat)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' This stinks! I hate it this way!\
'''Courage:''' What's wrong with it?\
'''Little Muriel:''' Less cheese!\
''(Courage prepares more mac and cheese, and puts the dish on the table)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' More macaroni!\
''(Courage prepares more mac and cheese again, [[AsideGlance looking at the screen]], and puts the dish on the table)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' Less macaroni!\
''(Courage prepares more mac and cheese [[RuleOfThree again]], with an annoyed expression, and puts the dish on the table)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' More cheese!\
''(Courage prepares more mac and cheese '''again''', with an angry expression, and puts the dish on the table)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' More cheese and macaroni!\
''(Courage prepares more mac and cheese '''AGAIN''', with angry, bloodshot eyes, and puts the dish on the table)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' [[SuddenlyShouting TOO MUCH MACARONI!!]]\
''(Courage prepares more mac and cheese '''[[OverlyLongGag YET AGAIN]]''', with an expression that conveys the fury of a thousand bulldogs, and puts the dish on the table)''\
'''Little Muriel:''' Oh, perfect! ''([[UngratefulBastard throws the mac and cheese at Courage, splattering him]])'' [[WhamLine I hate macaroni and cheese]].
* During the scene where Courage and Muriel are on a plane, Muriel runs up and down the aisle, arms spread apart, complete with airplane noises. Two people jump out of the plane, ''including the pilot'', because they can't put up with her anymore. Cut to Courage's completely deadpan expression, that can only be summed up into "The things I do for love."
* "I'm hungry, I'm tired, I'm dizzy, I'm ''naaaaau''seas. *falls on floor* I'm gonna hurl! I'm gonna blow ''chunks!''"
* The RunningGag in which Eustace keeps getting knocked out in the basement throughout the episode. Even when he finally regains conscienceness long enough to step out of the basement, he still gets knocked out the ends up back inside.
-->'''Eustace:''' "MURIEL! Where's my dinner!?" (''gets hit by an airplane that Courage is flying'')
* The tidal wave. "Crazy weather" indeed...
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 2]]
[[AC:"Magic Tree of Nowhere"]]
* The singing guard eel.
-->'''Eel:''' Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling.
* And shortly after when Eustace and the eel come out of the moat together.
-->'''Eustace and Eel singing in unison:''' If you will bend and tell me that you love me!\
'''Eel:''' BBBAAAHH! (''eats Eustace'')
* Courage lets out one of his screams which has him climbing up a cliff, screaming at the moon, and shattering the moon into pieces. Even funnier, because when he's climbing that cliff, he's a small speck and then he yells and is depicted with a ''really big head''.

[[AC:"Robot Randy"]]
* Randy has finally been accepted amongst his destructive brethren as a useful robot for his skill as a wooden reindeer carver and gets a medal. Three seconds later:
-->'''Robot in crowd''': [[TemptingFate Yeah, but can he make anything else?]]\
'''Randy''': (''[[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass snaps, arms laser cannon, and vaporizes the other robot]]'')
* Randy's entrance.
-->'''Robot Randy''': My name is Randy. I am the most powerful robot in the universe.\
'''Eustace''': That's it, I'm getting my mallet!
* The ultimate showdown between Randy and Courage: A DanceOff!
* This exchange:
-->'''Randy''': It's nothing, just a wooden reindeer.\
'''Eustace''': You're right! You are a failure!
* "What a waste of good wood!"
* Randy not taking any of Eustace's sass, but what ''really'' sells it is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKCc12UYih0 Eustace's reaction]].
-->'''Randy''': [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Get back! To! Work!]]
-->'''Eustace''': Make me!
-->''(Randy completely vaporizes Eustace down to almost nothing)''
-->'''Eustace''': ''({{Beat}})'' [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction Ow!]]

[[AC:"The Curse of Shirley"]]
* Eustace must sleep on the roof, then proceeds to lose his glasses. As Eustace's false perception forces him to believe he is seeing monsters, Courage makes his way up on the roof to bring him a blanket. When Eustace envisions Courage as one of the monsters, he attacks him, then throws him off the roof. This manages to stand out significantly because Courage, being a big screamer, shrieks when Eustace approaches him, but in ''Eustace's'' eyes, all he sees is the monster [[VocalDissonance roaring at him but sounding like a small dog]].

[[AC:"Courage in the Big Stinkin' City"]]
* When Courage attempts to escape the cop by jumping out of the train, he realizes that it would be doomed to crash [[NiceJobBreakingItHero due to him scaring the driver out]], so he jumps back in to help. Except the controls are too complicated for him, and it seems to know the trouble. Though it is funny how its voice just suddenly changes when providing the alert.
-->'''Train:''' Welcome to the nuclear-powered computerized bullet train.\
''([[OhCrap Courage gasps]])''\
'''Train:''' Sit back, relax, and [[SuddenlyShouting HANG ON FOR YOUR LIFE!]]\
''(Courage starts screaming and pulling levers)''
** He doesn't even successfully save the train. He somehow [[AchievementsInIgnorance manages to drive it into Schwick's place]].
* This exchange:
-->'''Eustace''': Briefs!
-->'''Shwick''': Boxers!
-->'''Eustace''': ''(stands up)'' ''Briefs!''
-->'''Shwick''': ''(stands up)'' ''Boxers!''
-->'''Eustace''': ''(rips off clothes)'' '''''[[RuleOfThree BRIEFS!!]]'''''
-->'''Shwick''': ''([[BeyondTheImpossible rips off carapace]])'' '''''[[RuleOfThree BOXERS!!!]]'''''
-->''(Muriel {{wolf whistle}}s [[DirtyOldWoman excitedly]])''
* In a later scene, Shwick and Eustace are comparing leg hairs, with Eustace's being longer.
* The payoff to that episode is quite hilarious. It begins with Shwick luring Muriel, Eustace and Courage into a dilapidated room with bones of victims strewn on the floor and the word "HELP" scribbled on the blackboard (which Shwick tries unsuccessfully to wipe off). He then sends Courage to receive and bring back a package, threatening that Muriel will be seriously hurt otherwise. A long time later, Courage finally succeeds in delivering the package, and it turns out it contained a wiper... and the only reason Shwick wanted it was to wipe [[ChekhovsGun the word "HELP"]] [[BrickJoke off the blackboard.]]
-->'''Shwick''': You bent my squeegee, now it's curtains for the sitar lady! [[UnstoppableRage NOBODY double-crosses Shwick!!!]]

[[AC:"Family Business"]]
* At the end where Courage and Muriel try to convince Basil to give up his life of crime. As he looks to Eustace for his input [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment Eustace is seen being attacked by a giant squirrel which was never mentioned or seen before then.]] The scene just cuts to him being attacked while the others were talking. This is made even funnier because everyone just ignores the attack and continues talking.
* As a whole, this is one of the funnier episodes of Courage. Basil's switches from 'hardcore criminal' to 'loving family member' are so bizarre that even ''Muriel'' admits he's insane.
* This sums up the episode:
-->'''Basil:''' Nigel, why are you tyin' up Mama Mashed-Potatoes and Uncle Twinkle-toes?\
(''Courage, Muriel and Eustace stare blankly'')
* When the group is having dinner, Eustace, Courage, and Basil are actually dancing while they wait for Muriel to finish cooking. When she comes out with a bowl of mashed potatoes and sets it on the table, Eustace goes flying into it face-first.

[[AC:"Courage Meets The Mummy"]]
* "COME ON BAYBAAAAAYY GIVE ME LIIIFE!"
* "I told you! I can't be hypnotized!"
* "*sobs* That's my favorite sheet!"
* The "trap" that woke up the mummy in the very beginning.
* The way the mummy hitches a ride from Di Lung. The mummy's entire trip counts, including scenes like the mummy impatiently waiting at a bus stop or jumping out of an airplane just to get away from an annoying skydiver (and the [[VisualPun random sleeping elephant sitting beside them]]).

[[AC:"Invisible Muriel"]]
* The multiple tests to find a cure for the jewel's invisibility causing powers performed on Eustace by Dr. Vindaloo in "Invisible Muriel", especially when Dr. Vindaloo manages to briefly make Eustace visible by pummeling him with a whale.
* The ineptitude and quirkiness of the government agents. From mistaking Courage for a child and telling him the equivalent of a TV public service announcement, to [[FailedASpotCheck finding nothing wrong with Eustace's floating hat]], to somehow completely failing to notice Dr. Vindaloo holding the invisibility stone while chasing Courage around for it.

[[AC:"Human Habitrail"]]
* :
--> '''Crazy Plunger Lint Lady:''' They're doin' terrrrrible thiiiiings over theeeere. Terrrrrible things! (''beat'') But they ain't gettin' ''my'' lint!
* "It's Doc Gerbil's world, it's Doc Gerbil's world..." [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am3i4tzURGY Courage's reaction to that song is hilarious.]]

[[AC:"Mission to the Sun"]]
* The scene immediately after Mustafa Al-Bacterius (a tiny space germ) takes control over Muriel. After spouting some gibberish and going crazy for a short bit, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhHhzzLwsBE she proceeds to physically torment and humiliate Eustace]].
-->'''Muriel:''' Birds!\
'''Eustace:''' Ah, you're seein' things. More turkey in a tube!\
'''Muriel:''' [[WordSaladHumor Halifax! Wicky-wicky-wicky, mambo time!]]
* Mustafa's introduction speech when he finally reveals himself controlling Muriel. It ends with "So, get a flashlight and some D cells, 'cause it's lights out, space clowns!"

[[AC:"Courage the Fly"]]
* Di Lung turns Courage into a fly: "I don't think so. Supposed to be buffalo."
-->'''Courage''': (''hitting a light bulb over and over'') I dunno why I'm doing this, but I like it.
* Eustace accidentally [[TearOffYourFace ripping off Muriel's face]] with flypaper:
-->'''Muriel:''' (faceless, skull exposed) Eustace, [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction put my face back where it belongs, or it's cold cuts for dinner!]]
-->(''Eustace puts her face back on upside-down'')
-->'''Muriel:''' (unamused) Oh, you are cheeky.
-->(''Eustace turns her face back to its proper position, she hits him with her rolling pin'')
-->'''Eustace:''' OW!!! (dizzily) What did I do?

[[AC:"Katz Kandy"]]
* When Courage and Muriel get brought to Katz, Eustace is left behind. However, he eventually arrives. How? By following and eating the trail that Katz's jelly monster left.
* When Eustace is attacked by the jelly monster, he actually manages to deal with it by using the same mask he frequently scares Courage with, which makes it shrink and run away. Doubles as a moment of awesome, which is a surprise to come from Eustace of all people.

[[AC:"Mega Muriel the Magnificent"]]
* When the computer starts moving in "Mega Muriel the Magnificent", he first possesses Eustace. However, he [[EpicFail runs into a wall and shatters him to pieces]].
-->'''Computer:''' Stupid body. I need a better one with more meat.
** Even funnier is that Eustace remains that way for the rest of the episode.
* Courage does everything to keep the computer from getting Muriel and itself killed, suffering injuries himself every time.
* On the last moment, Courage hears from Eustace that Mega Muriel is going skiing. Courage gives [[TemptingFate an expression of relief]]... Then Eustace further reveals that it's on top of the Empire State Building and into a sewer, causing Courage to groan.

[[AC:"The Transplant"]]
* The commotion of Eustace transforming into a giant, prehistoric kangaroo prompts Muriel to wake up Courage and ask him to check it out. Courage reluctantly obliges and drowsily walks to the bathroom, opens the door, sees the gigantic eye of the newly transformed Eustace, and calmly closes the door and walks back to the bedroom. It's only after Muriel asks him if everything was ok that he lets out one of his trademark screams.
* And then Courage, transforms into a kangaroo monster himself, eventually has to feed Eustace tons of croissants via a slingshot of all things, fattening him up to ludicrous proportions until he eventually falls off the Eiffel Tower and into a river... and then ends up on TV, still as a giant (albeit humorously overweight) kangaroo monster gleefully commenting on all the "free food" he's stuffing himself silly with.
* As for how Eustace got on the Eiffel Tower in the first place: when Courage tries to chase Eustace on the tower, a French policeman speaks through a megaphone that only one giant kangaroo is allowed on the tower instead of forbidding both from climbing it.

[[AC:"Car Broke, Phone Yes"]]
* The fight between the boss brain and mean Muriel is amusingly nothing more than the two of them childishly insulting each other.
-->'''Brain:''' Stupid planet!\
'''Muriel:''' Stupid brain!\
'''Brain:''' Stupid arms and legs!\
'''Muriel:''' Stupid tentacles!

[[AC:"Cowboy Courage"]]
* How The Whip is beaten. The sheriff tricks him into standing on a target so that a jet comes in to drop... [[PianoDrop a piano]].

[[AC:"Evil Weevil"]]
* The ending of "Evil Weevil". The titular villain is tricked into sucking his own body fat, which causes him to shrink to the size of a normal insect. He reacts by kicking Courage in the shin and calling him a "stupid dog" in a high-pitched voice, then casually walks away. Oh, and Eustace has become a flower.

[[AC:"[=McPhearson=] Phantom"]]
* If you [[FreezeFrameBonus look closely]] at Courage's certificate validating his position as a licensed therapist, you will see the phrases "Remember to eat your vegetables" and "I have courage. Try me, I dare you".
* When the [=McPhearson=] Phantom starts attacking Eustace's mother after realizing that it's actually ''her'' great great grandmother who fed her husband to the Loch Ness Monster, Eustace's mother [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere is quick to hightail it]] and the [=McPhearson=] Phantom goes after her with lobsters.
-->'''[=McPhearson=] Phantom:''' ''(Sadly)'' I feel so... Inadequate! ''[[MoodWhiplash (Cackles evilly as she holds up two lobsters and flies after Ma Bagge.)]]''

[[AC:"The House of Discontent"]]
* While "The House of Discontent" was very scary, it did have some funny moments, like Eustace's reaction when the Bagges first meet the Spirit of the Harvest Moon.
-->'''Eustace''': Would you look at that!\
'''Muriel''': It's a floating head!\
'''Eustace''': I was talking about that leaking pipe.
* "Hey! 1! 2! 3! 4! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
* When the Spirit of the Harvest Moon introduces itself, Eustace's reply is a curt "[[AndImTheQueenOfSheba and I'm a bucket of sardines]]."
* The argument between the Spirit of the Harvest Moon and Eustace is absolute gold.
-->'''Eustace''': At least I got arms and legs! You don't even have a ''neck!'' Hahaha!\
'''Spirit of the Harvest Moon''': Get out of my face.\
'''Eustace''': Make me!

[[AC:"The Sand Whale Strikes"]]
* :
-->'''Eustace''': (''sliding around inside his chair in the whale's mouth'') Look, I found my chair!\
'''Muriel''': (''deadpan'') I'm glad that ''you're'' comfortable...
* And later:
--->'''Eustace''': (''now inside a fridge inside the whale's mouth'') I found the refrigerator!
* "Well, I'm glad that all worked out." "But the whale got me Ma." Beat. "(''smiles'') I'm glad that all worked out."
** Why did the whale need an accordion anyway? Because he was in an accordion choir that was just finishing up before he got his and did the finishing notes.

[[AC:"The Tower of Dr. Zalost"]]
* This entire episode is a SugarWiki/{{Funny Moment|s}}. Everything, [[BlackComedy from a chicken getting hit by a truck trying to cross the road]], to Dr. Zalost wearing ''[[AmbiguouslyGay high heels]]'', is just plain funny.
* This bit of gold when Courage must solve a four letter hangman puzzle before a cannon loaded with unhappy ammo shoots him. It's about to go out when:
-->'''Courage:''' Uhhh... 'boom?' (''the wick stops, {{beat}} as Zalost fills in _OO_ on the board'')\
'''Zalost:''' [[NoFairCheating Ugh, you cheated!]] (''pulls cannon rope and it fires'')
* "We've been bamboozled!"
* When Zalost realizes he didn't get everyone in Nowhere with his unhappy cannonballs.
-->'''Zalost''': You missed one.\
(''Zalost points down at Eustace'')\
'''Zalost''': There's a happy person!\
'''Eustace''': (''honking his truck's horn at Zalost's tower'') Lousy, stinkin' hippies!
* When the tower erupts with pink Happy Plum infused cannonballs...
-->'''Eustace:''' "It's the end of the world!" (''screams, runs into the closet'')
** ...And when he comes out of the closet later: "Ha ha! I found me mallet!" (''Is hit by an unhappy cannonball and, due to tanking a few cannonballs throughout, turns to stone'') "Stupid dog!"
--->'''Dr. Zalost:''' If I can't be happy, [[IfICantHaveYou no one can be happy]]. [[HypocriticalHumor The nerve of him. People are so]] ''[[HypocriticalHumor selfish]]''.
* There's just something about Zalost's reaction to the pizza:
-->'''Zalost:''' "Pizza? I didn't order any pizza. ''[[FelonyMisdemeanor Get away from me!]]''"\
'''Rat:''' (''[[CharacterCatchphrase annoyed sigh]]'')
* As Zalost confronts Courage after his tower is destroyed.
-->'''Dr. Zalost''': You stupid dog!\
'''Eustace''': (''from the closet he was hiding in from Zalost's cannonballs'') That's what I tell him all the time. Stupid dog. You stupid dog!
* There's that weird TV show that kept cropping up in this episode involving two guys slapping each other with rubber chickens and fish...
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 3]]
[[AC:"Muriel Meets Her Match"]]
* After Mano steals Muriel's glasses at night, Courage tries to imitate what has just happened, to which Muriel responds:
-->'''Muriel''': You know I can't hear you without my glasses.

[[AC:"Courage vs. Mecha-Courage"]]
* The colosseum match where Mecha-Courage keeps outdoing Courage. Best part is where Courage tries shooting an arrow at Mecha-Courage, only for Mecha-Courage to shoot a bunch of arrows at Courage, pinning him to the wall in classic slapstick humor.
** Shortly afterwards, Courage tries to trip Mecha-Courage, but is flattened with a giant tire.

[[AC:"The Record Deal"]]
* The ending of "The Record Deal" is ''epic'' hilarity, especially this line:
-->'''Eustace''': ''(after getting sucked into a gramophone)'' But I don't do no do-si-do! I got a condition! ''(pathetic cries of pain can be heard)''

[[AC:"The Sandman Sleeps"]]
* In "The Sandman Sleeps", when Eustace orders a sleep-deprived Muriel to give him his toast, Muriel instead gives him a bowling ball. Eustace doesn't notice until he tries to take a bite out of the bowling ball, afterwards he ends up dropping the bowling ball and hurting his foot.
* "You're keeping me awake with that stupid rock-n-roll!!"

[[AC:"Hard Drive Courage"]]
* "Hard Drive Courage" is pure hilarity, especially when Muriel accidentally clicks on an adult website. Courage's reaction is priceless.
* The crazy error messages that appear when the computer first gets infected. "6x4=BOB!"
* The virus himself looks '''HILARIOUS''', with a GagNose and bulging eyes. The fact that he's sick and has a SnotBubble dripping down from his nose only fuels the fire.

[[AC:"Feast of the Bullfrogs"]]
* After Courage defeats the frogs, Buffo runs off to find new followers. He achieves this by joining a baseball team.

[[AC: "So In Louvre Are We Two"]]
* The entire episode is hilarious. After Venus and Mars align, all the paintings in sculptures in the museum come to life, leading to many funny interactions between the characters and the pieces of art.
* Right before the museum closes, the Bagges and Courage find an exhibition that resembles their home, complete with a rocking chair for Muriel and an armchair for Eustace, which they fall asleep in. This actually makes the guard mistake them for sculptures. What really makes it funny is the name of the exhibition - "American Stupeed".
* After The Thinker comes to life, Eustace tells the sculpture to put some clothes on. The Thinker beats Eustace, steals his clothes, and puts Eustace in his place in a thinking pose.
* After a failed date with The Thinker, Mona Lisa expresses desire for somebody to kiss her. Courage decides to make the man from The Kiss sculpture fall in love with her. To do this, he steals Cupid's arrow, so Courage gives him a ''game pad'' in return after he starts crying. What's also funny is how Cupid's baby voice is suddenly replaced with an adult voice when he starts giggling.
* Mona Lisa and the statue of the man accidentally kiss Muriel after Courage puts them in the former's painting.
* At the end of the episode, Eustace is still in the thinking pose in his underwear and he complains about his back itching. The guard passes by and calls him a "Stupid American".

[[AC:"Mondo Magic"]]
* At one point, Mondo turns Dr. Vindaloo into a head of lettuce. When Courage tries to use Mondo's magic dust to turn Muriel back to normal, she turns into, among other things, Dr. Vindaloo.
-->'''Dr. Vindaloo''': I am no longer a head of lettuce.

[[AC:"Watch the Birdies"]]
* :
-->'''Mama Bird''': If I come back here and find just one feather out of place on their little heads... '''[[SuddenlyShouting I'M GONNA EAT YA]] [[CutHisHeartOutWithASpoon WITH THIS CEREAL SPOON!]]'''

[[AC:"Angry Nasty People"]]
* Eustace in general. '''Holy crap.'''
* Eustace assaults a waitress by spraying her with mustard and ketchup, then asks if she "wants relish with that."
* And of course Mr. Nasty's introduction: "Hi, or in '''YOUR''' native language (monkey sounds)"
** Or really just about anything Mr. Nasty says.
*** This gem to Eustace:
--->'''Mr. Nasty:''' You can't grow hair, you can't grow plants, the only thing you can grow is ''stupider!''

[[AC:"The Swindlin' Wind"]]
* Muriel, as a one-man band, swindling Eustace out of his chair, his grandfather clock, and ''the floor'', which results in Courage getting hit by each one, but before she can swindle him out of anything else, [[HandGagging Courage covers her mouth to stop her]] and avoid getting hit by anything else.
* At the county fair, Courage finds a golden bear trap and keeps touching it, only for it not to move. Then he touches it with his tongue, feeling confident and smug... and it snaps shut on his tongue.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 4]]
[[AC:"A Beaver's Tale"]]
* The slideshow of the beaver's life that shows that his father forced him to work for a construction, while sad, ends up funny when it is for a company called "That Dam Beaver".

[[AC:"The Nutcracker"]]
* "The Nutcracker" end with Eustace taking Courage's nutcracker and breaking its teeth in an effort to open a walnut. When Courage looks at the now broken nutcracker, he grins to show off his own broken teeth.
* At one point, Eustace is seen watching a broken TV while wearing a moose head.
-->'''Eustace:''' Great reception! ''(picks up a nearby brush, and scrubs the moose's teeth)'' Oooh!

[[AC:"Windmill Vandals"]]
* When the Vandals attack, Eustace is decapitated. Disturbing? Yes. But then it cuts to the Vandal riding with his severed head in hand, and he sounds more ''annoyed'' than anything.
--> '''Eustace:''' Hey! Gimme back my body! Gimme back my hat! And get your finger outta my ear!
* Courage puts Eustace's head on him. Eustace then says "Now '''I'm''' a stupid dog!"
* The Computer saying "Lucky for us it's just a storrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..." before it shuts off.

[[AC:"Farmer-Hunter, Farmer-Hunted"]]
* :
-->'''Announcer:''' And now, for the final question!\
'''Courage:''' (''places a globe on the table'')\
'''Eustace:''' Oh, I know what it is! It's a bowlin' ball, covered in throw-up!
* The epic chase scene when the Deer starts hunting Eustace and Courage, complete with "[[OminousLatinChanting In the Hall of the Mountain King]]" in the background and the chase ends with Eustace getting mauled by [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment a Siberian Tiger]].
-->'''Tiger:''' [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment That was truly a traumatic experience, but I'm over it.]]

[[AC:"Bride of the Swamp Monster"]]
* When the Swamp Monster starts breaking into the house, we see a shot of Courage screaming, which turns out to be a cardboard cut-out that Courage propped up while he left to get a hot dog and some soda.
* Courage's frustration at Swamp Woman forgetting who he is and his informing her that the Swamp Monster is waiting for her after she [[IResembleThatRemark insists she isn't forgetful]].

[[AC:"The Mask"]]
* While this episode deals with one of the most serious stories in the whole series, there ''are'' some funny moments, but an especially good one is near the end as the B-plot of Muriel and Eustace having a bit of a fight wraps up:
-->'''Muriel:''' Oh, Eustace, I'm sorry for the terrible things I said.
-->'''Eustace:''' That's okay, Muriel. Nobody's perfect. ''(they hug)''
-->'''Muriel:''' I wonder where Courage has run off to?
-->'''Eustace:''' [[MoodWhiplash Who cares?!]]

[[AC:"Squatting Tiger Hidden Dog"]]
* "Poison darts! They be music haters!"
* When Di Lung's good aunt returns to the throne after the evil aunt perishes, Di Lung quickly restores Muriel's bones and vehemently insists that he's loyal to the good aunt now. He still does such a rushed job that Muriel's left hand and foot have switched places.

[[AC:"Food of the Dragon"]]
* Courage's attempts to get the dragon to fly.
** First, he has the dragon take a running start off the barn, which he does while accidentally knocking Courage to the ground in the process, then he falls on Courage after a few seconds of airtime.
** The second attempt is putting the dragon in a harness in front of a wind turbine. The harness comes off and he seems to be successfully flying until he gets launched through the back wall.
** Third is putting the dragon in a remote control propeller helmet, which also seems to work until it loses power and the dragon crashes, creating a nuclear explosion that [[StrippedToTheBone burns Courage's skin and flesh off]], [[EyesAreUnbreakable leaving only his eyes]].

[[AC:"Son of the Chicken from Outer Space"]]
* Eustace is fixing up the henhouse when from out of left field, ''a train plows through the henhouse while Eustace is still on it!''

[[AC:"Ball of Revenge"]]
* Katz's response to seeing the weremole eat one of the balls.
-->'''Katz:''' Who invited this unrefined beast?
* The group Eustace got to get rid of Courage, aside from Katz and Le Quack, includes a fox that should have been stew by now, a wild animal, a siren that previously tried to eat him, and ''his own foot.''

[[AC:"Wrath of the Librarian"]]
* While the TransformationSequence for Eustace and Muriel is [[TransformationTrauma pretty freaky]], Courage's reaction is utterly hilarious. It's difficult to describe, but instead of his usual scream of terror, Courage can only respond with some weird visual gags that can only be described as a visual version of a FlatWhat. Courage has lots of similarly hilarious reactions in other episodes. An example would be in "Profiles in Courage", when the two paper cutouts stole Eustace and Muriel's "lives". In both instances where that happened, Courage just [[HeroicBSOD stood there motionless]] as he got kicked by a random donkey appearing from nowhere or had his eyes shut off into static like a pair of broken televisions.

[[AC:"Remembrance of Courage Past"]]
* In one of the biggest TearJerker episodes in the whole series, baby Courage looks for his parents, and when he opens a door, a woman is taking a shower and screams. Courage promptly shuts the door, but a few seconds later, he opens it again. And smiles.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''The Fog of Courage'']]
* Eustace's reaction to being attacked by the titular fog is ''exactly what you'd expect.''
-->'''Eustace:''' Stupid [[{{Pun}} fog]]!
[[/folder]]
%%* Courage screaming ''through his tuba''. It actually forms a mouth as he blows.
%%* [[https://youtu.be/kusyDPg-wGY?t=6s Another one of Courage's screams]] has a cowboy riding a horse out of his mouth, firing his gun into the air, and then ''riding back into Courage's mouth''!
