* More Fun Comics #85 had Aquaman left for dead on a desert island and dying from the heat, with crooks ready to shoot if he tried to leave, when something unexpected happened: it rained. (This didn't solve the problem entirely, but it helped him figure out a way to escape by digging a tunnel with soft sand.)
* In Adventure Comics #127, a battle with Black Jack leaves Aquaman with amnesia. Realizing he likes water but unsure as to why, he gives himself the name "Seven-Seas Saunders" and joins Black Jack's crew as a mess boy. Black Jack's plan to frame Aquaman for bad deeds goes nowhere partly because his crew keep laughing that Aquaman is the mess boy, and partly because while working in the kitchens, a bonk on the head restores Aquaman's memory and he soundly defeats them.
* Adventure Comics #151 had the pirate captain Black Jack kidnap a writer to make a book about his exploits, which Aquaman promptly sabotaged to make him a laughingstock, including shooting at an iceberg he thought was a ship, sabotaging a derelict ship, and having Aquaman infiltrate his ship in disguise. It ends with Aquaman reading the book to him. Even funnier, this is Black Jack's last chronological appearance.
* Adventure Comics #183 had Aquaman create an underwater jail for mischievous fishes, including sharks that swam too close to shore and scared bathers and bad-tempered crabs. They eventually staged a breakout and saved Aquaman from crooks, leading him to give them a full pardon.
* Adventure Comics #195 had some crooks think they killed Aquaman on an iceberg...only to immediately regret it when the sun started to rise, melting the ice, and one of the crooks couldn't even swim. Naturally, Aquaman was very much alive and was trolling them by having a whale shake the iceberg and lead it out into open water, where he captured the crooks.
-->Crook 1: If only Aquaman were alive, he'd save us! Why did we bump him off?\
Crook 2: Shaddup! Stop shivering! You're tilting the iceberg!
* Arthur and Mera's Silver Age marriage in Aquaman #18 almost didn't happen for a really silly reason. When Aquaman was crowned King of Atlantis for the first time, Vulko cheered the news and immediately told him that, per the custom, he had to choose an Atlantean girl to be his wife. (Cue an OhCrap face and dozens of eligible and not-so-eligible women clamoring for him.) Since Mera wasn't Atlantean, Aquaman couldn't marry her and told her he couldn't, but not why. She was so angry she swam off before he could further explain, got in with an usurper to the throne, and came very close to killing Arthur before realizing she still loved him and saved his life. She was then EasilyForgiven and Aquaman made her an honorary Atlantean, letting the marriage proceed.
* A guest appearance in ComicBook/WonderWoman #215 had Aquaman trail Diana in civilian clothes, only to nearly die when he was out of water for almost an hour. When Mars turned a nearby water fountain into oil and his voice was too parched to tell bystanders how to help, Aquaman seemed doomed...until he made a kid spill their soda on him, rejuvenating him just enough to be okay. Aquaman then gave the kid a dollar as thanks for the soda.
* Adventure Comics #437 had Aquaman trying to have a day off to just swim, only to be attacked by Black Manta, get lost in a cave and ask nearby fish for directions, battle an octopus too stupid to be affected by his telepathy, and rescue an Atlantean child from being hurt by a farming device. After the rough day he immediately passes out and is taken to the hospital, where Mera scolds him for working too hard and suggests he rest.
* Adventure Comics #446 has Aqualad get captured by Black Manta, when a caption box describes the latter's voice as being as irritating as sandpaper on a blister.
* ComicBook/Aquaman1991 #5 has, in the middle of a tense standoff between Aquaman and Black Manta, a mercenary from Tritonis trying and failing to use a gun.
-->Ritar: Now, Lord Iqula, I will repay you for the humiliation of Tritonis. With this magic weapon that Manta...Uh...Uh...Fire, you blasted thing! Maybe if I point it this way and press that...No...
* ComicBook/Aquaman1991 #9 has a single panel of Aquaman in a plane thinking "God, I hate flying" which makes it look like the plane itself is thinking it.
* Aquaman Secret Files #1 includes a xenofiction story about a curious fish who's never heard of Aquaman trying to find him. He learns that to dolphins he has a weird fungus on his head, to an octopus he's an ungainly creature with only four stiff limbs, a manta ray sees his hook hand "barb" as unnatural, to a whale he's small and to a starfish he's huge, to a crab he's horrifically ugly, and to sharks he has one long tooth. Cue the little fish running into Aquaman to warn him about the terrible creature he's heard of, belatedly realizing that the "weird fish" he saw might help him find Aquaman.
* In Creator/PeterDavid's runs, specifically ComicBook/Aquaman1994 #4, Aquaman finds out that sharks are the ocean's Ditzes:
-->Shark 1: [seeing a hole Aquaman cut in a net to help them out] It's true. Look, he has cut a hole in it.\
Shark 2: It's a very nice hole.\
Shark 3: Yes, let's look at it some more.
** In Aquaman: Time and Tide, Aquaman warns sharks away from eating the Flash, and they're puzzled as to why he's there when they were the ones who called him there to begin with.
** ComicBook/Aquaman1994 #10 has many sea creatures passing on a message to Aquaman that the Old One, an ancient shark, is dying and must see him. By the time Aquaman reaches him, Old One forgot what he meant to warn him about.
* In ComicBook/Aquaman1994 #13, Aquaman learns that the realm Thanatos occupies is a reverse purgatory where those who are deemed evil enough go free, while good people are detained until they become sufficiently evil. Cue Arthur shouting "Do I look like I could ever be evil?" while brandishing his harpoon hand with a threatening look on his face, as Dolphin, Mera, and AJ refuse to answer but roll their eyes.
* In ComicBook/Aquaman1994 Annual #3, Arthur gets captured by some goons who threaten him with an ExactTimeToFailure about his one hour outside of water weakness. He melodramatically fakes his death, then ponders who comes up with this stuff when they throw the 'body' overboard.
* The page image, from ComicBook/MarvelVersusDC. "That's your weakness, Namor. You're too noble to cheat."
* Store owner Randy. He's such a CardCarryingVillain, it's hard not to laugh. You're pretty much expecting his employee, Jennifer, to suddenly say "We're talking about sexual harassment here, and I don't have to take it."
* Arthur's reaction to finding himself in the middle of a desert.
-->Aquaman: Uh-oh.
* ComicBook/AquamanRebirth #36, an otherwise tense issue, opens with Aquaman as a PlayAlongPrisoner who frees himself by the end of the first page. Meanwhile, Captain Murk does such BadBadActing his dialogue is in quotes, and Arthur tells him to knock it off.
* ComicBook/AquamanRebirth Annual #2 had Aquaman and Jackson Hyde attacked by a would-be usurper calling himself "Sea Daddy". Everyone in earshot agrees it's a terrible name.
* The ghost of an Atlantean statesman in the DC Rebirth era actually referring to Orm as a "blowhard."
* Aquaman 80th Anniversary Special featured the return of Aquabeast, who finally clawed his way out of the Forbidden Place while Arthur and Mera were having a surface cookout. Aquabeast grabbed Garth, told them that 95% of family cookouts end in a fight, and he brought dessert.
* A Subway advertisement comic starring Aquaman and his villains, as well as the Justice League, features one of the pettiest things Black Manta has ever done...stealing a guy's Subway sandwich and refusing to share with Ocean Master.
