* Why doesn't Neru sing in "Triple Baka" despite the fact that both Miku and Teto do? Because unlike Miku and Teto, [[TheVoiceless Neru doesn't have her own voice!]]
* The Hachi-P song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8RDiHUypo8 Lynne]] contains many allusions to rebirth (ex., the cicada's cries, continuously circling around the same track). Listening to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmQOshp1LGc the music box version]] clarifies between each group of stanzas, there is a set of tones in the background that loops four times each time it changes. Why? Because FourIsDeath.
* Just an interesting tidbit, but in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8L75guzMn4 The Tailor Shop on Enbizaka]], the tailor [[spoiler: kills people with her scissors]]. This is similar to the Greek Fates, who would [[spoiler:cut people's life thread with their scissors]].
** This song is part of a series depicting the Seven Deadly Sins, with this one being Envy. The difference between envy and jealousy is that envy is wanting what you don't have (i.e. I'm envious of your cool skateboard), while jealousy is someone else getting something you feel you should get (i.e. I'm jealous of the attention my boyfriend goves other girls). Knowing that, you might think that the song better describes jealousy than envy... [[spoiler: Until you learn that he wasn't her husband, thus making her envious of the women who had him, as oppossed to jealous for the attention he's giving them.]]
* A ''lot'' of the weirdness in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwPcD4Zwr78 "Sweet Float Flats"]] can be explained away if you consider that the narrator is [[ThroughTheEyesOfMadness on shrooms the whole time.]]
* What does the "infinity" sign in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQih8wmIn_M‎ Bad End Night]] means? Upon watching the sequels, and discovering that the story is presented as some sort of GroundhogDayLoop, the infinity symbol is to signify the endless loops that have continued indefinitely.
* That weird squarish thing on IA's neckband? It's a natural, a lesser-known [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_sign musical notation symbol]] that cancels out sharps and flats. Which is appropriate, because her voice provider is a woman with an unusually deep voice.
* When you think about it, almost everyone in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl2upvUhugY "The Music Wizard of Oz"]] (except Miku, who just wants to go home) wants something to help them escape negative reactions from their peers; Kaito the Scarecrow wants a brain because he's mocked for his perceived lack of intelligence, Luka the Tin Woman wants a heart because she those who see her dance claim "her dancing lacks heart" (despite the fact that she puts so much effort and passion into it) and dismiss her, Rin and Len the [[VegetarianCarnivore Vegetarian Scaredy-Cats]] want courage because they are teased by the other lions for not eating meat and Meiko the [[DarkIsNotEvil not-so-wicked]] Witch steals the Wizard's guitar because she is feared by all and wants somebody to be her friend.
* Rin and Len's most common fanon portrayal, with Rin being more emotional and impulsive and Len being more rational and composed, makes sense when you think of their motif; Rin and Len are typically seen as two halves of a whole, with ''Ri''n being the ''ri''ght half and ''Le''n being the ''le''ft. The right side of the brain is typically associated with emotion while the left side is associated with logic.
* In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC8Nv6RG5dA "Akane-chan will listen to whatever you say"]], late into the song Akane drops the [[YesMan yes-woman]] act and basically calls Yukari stupid for being a SoreLoser and advises her to quit playing. She still ''is'' listening to whatever Yukari says. [[ExactWords The title never said she would care or be supportive of her.]]
* Why does the Observer in "Diary of Underage Observation" know to immediately run to the implied singer of My R when the girl has been showing up frequently on the roof? ''She was on the other side of the railing.''
* The line "I want to become the governor of the Philippines" in "The Banana Song" may sound like a weird NonSequitur at first - until you learn that bananas are one of the Philippines' primary exports and are firmly entrenched in their culinary culture. Of course Len would want to be the leader of a country that has so much of his TrademarkFavoriteFood!

[[AC:FridgeHorror]]
* Kaito invokes one of these with his (well, Kettaro's) version of the song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTOngDS0dRI&feature=related Hatsune Miku no Soushitsu]]. Initially, it sounds just like a strange techno-pop Kaito song with static in. But then you watch the video... wait. Why is Kaito suddenly screaming in agony in the middle of the verse? Why did the screen suddenly go grayscale, with bursts of static intruding on the image? How come the lyrics went out of sync with his mouth? Why are his movements getting weaker, like it's difficult to stand? Why is he collapsing to his knees, clutching his head, but still wearing that serene smile and singing the peppy techno song? Well, that's an easy one: his file is being corrupted, ''hard''. In the middle of a song - and Kaito knows it. But he's a computer program designed to sing and dance, not show emotion. So despite the fact that he's managed to break through earlier, in order to scream, well... he's got a program to run. Face stuck in a static smile, being eaten apart by a virus, Kaito sings his song.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gfG2zPNL_c The original version using Miku]] is even sadder when at least one translation has her ''begging'' to be saved. The poor girl is dying, she knows it, and all she can do is carry out her program and plead with her creator ("master") to help her.
* More a case of Fridge {{Squick}}: ''Duke Venomania's Madness'' shows a list of women who have disappeared into Gackpo's mansion to join his harem. One name on the list is Josephine - which happens to be the name of Rin's horse in ''Daughter of Evil.''(That said, Music/{{mothy}} has confirmed that ''Venomania'' takes place centuries before ''Daughter of Evil'', so it's most likely a MythologyGag.)
** There is another name on the list - "Yukina Kaina". Sounds like Yuki Kaai, ''who is only ten years old''. However, in the video, her age is listed as a ''censored, single digit'' instead. That poor girl...
* In "Gift from the Princess who brought sleep", we have Margarita, who snapped and continued to give her "gift" out to people after she most definitely knew what the real effect was. Newspapers were writing about the incidents. How many people might have found out she was behind it all? And how many people did she have to force-feed the "gift" to???
* "Trick And Treat" is a song about luring children into the woods, capturing them, drugging them, and removing their hearts (and possibly other organs).
** In a twist reminiscent of Banette from Pokemon, in the animated PV, Rin and Len are Miku's childhood dolls who have been reanimated by demonic rituals to seek revenge on the girl who abandoned them. Don't ever leave your dolls, kids; they'll kill ya!
* In one PV for ''Hello, Planet,'' we are shown that the mailbox in Miku's shelter is sentient -- at the beginning of the video, it makes a sad face and dips its head down. Miku and the mailbox are the only sentient/living things on the planet. At the end of the song, Miku dies and goes to heaven, meaning that poor mailbox will be alone forever.
* In Hatsune Miku and Hatsune Mikuo's duet, Hikari (Light), the computer detects Mikuo as a bug, and he's subsequently destroyed. Fastforward a bit, and we come to The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, where she's being eaten alive by a virus. Could quite possibly be leftover remnants of Mikuo's bug.
* Thinking about Circus Monster I realized something. It tells about a monster that no one really sees but everyone loves hearing it singing and about it's suffering because it's apart from only person important to it. Now,thinking about the lyrics....they could be telling about the "life" of a Vocaloid. No one really sees them, only fanarts or fanmade videos about them or projections in shows. And the person that they really want to see could the composers of their songs.
* In "Rotten Girl, Grotesque Romance", Miku is a Yandere who kills Luka and mails her head and torso to Kaito. We then see him sitting in his room with the corpse, petting its hair, while Miku sings about how she'll leave a gift wrapped box containing a kitten head outside his door every day. Then, we see Kaito, still sitting in the same spot with Luka, and there are several of these boxes in the background that weren't there before. Those kittens, not to mention Luka, would have been fairly decomposed by then...
* Even worse when in there's a rumor that it's might have been based off of a real murder case of in Japan, which hasn't been released in Japan. The one piece of information I've got from the rumor is that one of the victims, a cat-lover, was sent kitten heads before he died.
* A lot of songs involving Yanderes combine this with Paranoia Fuel when you realize that the victims barely even knew these people, or had only met them a few times ( as in "Rotten Girl, Grotesque Romance", "Love Disease", and "The Tailor Shop on Enbizaka Street"). It gets even creepier when you realize that your neighbor, or that pretty girl at the cafe, or any random acquaintance, could be stalking you right now and you would never know until it was too late.
* If the vocaloids are [[AnimatedActors Animated Actors]], then, judging from the songs where they play themselves, they are probably [[TrueCompanions True Companions]]. Now consider all the songs where they ''rape, murder, and otherwise horribly traumatize one another.''
* In ''Kagome, Kagome (Circle You, Circle You)'', poor Ruko can be seen getting their [[OffWithHisHead head cut off]] by the scientists in charge of the [[ImmortalityImmorality immortality project]]. After the deed is done, you can see their head far away from his body and crying. AKA, ''still'' crying. ''[[AndIMustScream Their head is still alive!]]''
* When you get past the fanservice, ''Spice!'' has some...rather unsettling implications that can turn [[TheCasanova Len]] into a borderline VillainProtagonist; he courts girls constantly, has sex with them, dumps them the minute he gets what he wants, and repeats the process as much as he pleases, all while expressing a cheerfully nihilistic attitude about the whole thing and not caring about any of the girls he hurts (to put it into perspective, WordOfGod says that ''RIP=RELEASE'' is the sequel to ''Spice!''; the song is about Luka being driven [[{{Yandere}} insane]], and wondering about [[IfICantHaveYou killing him if he doesn't fall in love with her]].
* [=VY2=]'s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82LVCMyjoB0 "Via Stingrays, My Proposal Bends Iron"]] has an example in the PV; the girl Yuuma's proposing to looks familiar, doesn't she? She's the same girl from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdSUMFi5FYE "A Clingy Boy Sticking for 15 Years"]]. [[spoiler:''[[TearJerker She's going to die]]'']].
** These are actually stock designs representing VY1 and VY2 in Manbo-P's videos - they just represent the voices, and most of his songs are unconnected unless explicitly stated to be.
** To quote the composer: "Some people think that the protagonists of "A Clingy Boy Sticking for 15 Years" and "Via Stingrays, My Proposal Bends Iron" are the same, but I never said that. [[ShrugOfGod But I won’t deny that it’s an interesting idea. Do as you will."]]
* Speaking of "A Clingy Boy [...]"; Toward the end of the song, there is a line saying that [[spoiler:the boy thought he would see his beloved soon, but that she disappeared again]]. Combine that with his behaviour during years 1-6 - he keeps hurting himself in various ways, even saying that all his bones were broken, and doesn't care that his house is burning, only surviving through sheer luck. Was he repeatedly trying to commit suicide [[spoiler:because he couldn't get over her death]]?
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsjTBdiPq8o Dark Woods Circus]].[[HumansAreBastards The fact that people who ran such a Circus would do this in]] RealLife [[NightmareFuel just makes you both sick to your stomach]] [[TearJerker and in tears]].
** For those not familiar, this song is based off of the Japanese Freak Circuses from quite a long time ago. The song includes mentions of the children being raped and forced to eat human flesh. The PV explains things in more detail; these sideshow freaks are actually kids taken off the streets, dragged into the woods, and mutilated in ways including two twins being stitched together and kids having acid poured on their face. As in, sulfuric acid on their bare flesh. And while the song mentions a lot of these kids having suicidal thoughts, one of them is actually seen hanged in the PV.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIH2tTuz8WQ Party x Party]]" is a really upbeat song about Miku leading a bunch of adventurers to get some gold, and in the end [[spoiler:it's revealed in the end that she's the Game Master]], and they party even more. [[spoiler:However, Miku is actually one of TheFairFolk, she led the adventurers to her castle to a '''party that never ends''', turning them into dolls. It's no wonder if appear stories that nobody would ever heard about those adventurers after that]].
** Or it's about a [[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation girl playing a RPG with a bunch of dolls from the game with her.]]
** Additionally, there's a doll of Miku herself there too. Unless Miku somehow managed to both stay normal ''and'' turn herself into a doll [[MindScrew at the exact same time]], it's safe to say that this isn't what happened.
* In Twilight Night, the previous loop shown has Miku bursting in on a party and killing everyone [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse except Gumi and Gakupo]]. However, Meiko and Luka are lying dead on the ground before she breaks in. What happened there?
* In Portrait of the Pirate F, we see Rin as Tinkerbell take Len to Neverland and him acting out the role of Peter Pan... until he grows bored of the peace resulting in defeating Hook and he decides to take over the ship himself and be the pirate. We see pictures implying that Kaito as Hook arrived the same way Len did and we see a Miku who is obviously supposed to be Wendy at the end, so this begs the question, for just how long has Rin been doing this over and over again?
** Also, notice how each new Captain Hook has a hook for a hand. After Len dons his Hook garb, he now has a hook in place of his left hand. Could this mean that to play the part, each new Captain had to ''chop his own hand off?''
* Miku's backstory itself states that she is an android from the future where [[spoiler: all music has been lost.]] Now combine that with the fact that she exists in this reality.
** This in turn leads to some interesting and heartwarming FridgeBrilliance--Miku was sent here from that future to [[spoiler:''prevent'' all music from being lost]]. And considering how famous she's become and how much music she has been making, ''it's working''.
* Fukase's design is that of a young boy with [[ScarsAreForever severe burns/scarring on the left side of his face]] that appear to have [[EyeScream caused some damage to his eye]]. Just what on Earth happened there?
* In ''*Hello, Planet.'', how does Miku's master [[spoiler:have a coffin already built for himself]] if he's the last human on Earth, not to mention the fact his body is [[spoiler:locked up tight in the coffin before Miku arrives?]] Did he just happen to find an [[spoiler:empty coffin prior to his death, and laid down in it? Would that mean he ''knew'' he was about to die?]]
* Something seems to wrong with the singer (Miku) from "XxX Cat" from Kikuo. She kicks pebbles every day and wears holes through the front of shoes. Her back and neck are also bent, similarly to that of cat. She also says by the end of the song that the painful and pleasurable things in life can't be seen, heard, spoken of, or smelled. [[spoiler: Given how the chorus sings about [[BodyHorror the crushing of various body parts, including the eyes, nose, ears, nails, shoulders, kneecaps, elbows, shins, and the "soft insides of its head,"]] the singer may be the one being crushed bit by bit. The singer, if true, likely has permanent brain damage from having "soft parts" of her head crushed addition to being horribly disfigured. The singer likely can't help but kick pebbles on the ground (as she can barely walk and drags her feet); is physically incapable of straightening up; has lost her senses of sight, sound, and smell; and can no longer speak by the end of the song. Also, the singer wanting to forget about the incident may be her try to repress the mental trauma of what happened. The detail that, at some point, the singer heard laughter, indicates that, whatever happened wasn't an accident.]]
* With ''My R'' the reason that the girl can't talk herself out of it ultimately is that all her counters were never actually counters. Her counter to losing her crush is - "You're lucky that you haven't gotten robbed of anything." - The ''next'' girl complains of being robbed and is countered that "You are loved at home". And the thing is that "home" is the problem. Hence why losing the crush kick-started everything - he was the counter to the implied abusive home.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn4fAx2JqT4 Sleepyhead,]] Steampianist's most upbeat and happy song, at first seems like it's about a girl sleeping in too late on her seventh birthday, but as the song goes on, the vocals occasionally glitch up or hit a note off key, and ''then'' Oliver sings the line "Do you want to be ASLEEP FOREVER?!". It's pretty apparent now that the song is actually about a girl who ''fell into a coma'' on said birthday. Piecing together the lyrics reveals that the family also refused to believe she was dead, even saving cake for her and leaving her plush bunny in her room to comfort her. It's also shown in the PV that she dies just before the last chorus, as the video shows a funeral shrine, complete with angel statues and stuffed animals in attendance.
* "Okaasan" is terrifying enough by itself, a simplistic song about the singer getting [[NeckSnap Neck Snapped]] by their own mother. But for those with knowledge of Japanese, the lyrics are written in hiragana[[note]]the primary Japanese alphabet[[/note]], without katakana[[note]]mainly used for foreign loanwords[[/note]] or kanji[[note]]Chinese characters, which are more complex than either hiragana or katakana[[/note]]. Because standard Japanese writing uses all three writing systems at once, writing entirely in hiragana is considered childish because it implies you don't know foreign words or how to write the complicated kanji characters. Implying that the singer is a ''little girl''.

[[AC:FridgeLogic]]
* In Meltdown, why choose the method of jumping into a nuclear reactor? It's a little over the top, isn't it? Why don't you slit your throat or put a bullet through your brain? Also, nuclear reactors are highly guarded places. You would need frickin' security clearance to get into the nuclear power plant, let alone the reactor. Does the singer have security clearance? What is this even?
** It might be symbolic. ''Might''.
