* On a bonus clip for the DVD of ''[[WesternAnimation/ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnythingAVeggieTalesMovie The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything]]'', one of Elliot's fears is Buzz-saw Louie. Elliot is played by Larry. In ''The Toy that Saved Christmas'', Larry is standing right next to Louie the first time Louie ever brings out his buzz-saw, and while Louie was perfectly justified in doing so under the circumstances, he didn't warn Larry that he was going to beforehand, and having someone bring out a sharp pointy object right next to you without warning you would be a very nerve-wracking experience. It makes sense he'd appear on a list of things a character played by Larry was afraid of.
* "Dave and the Giant Pickle"
** While David is singing about how with God's help, "I know I can do big things!", he momentarily hops up on King Saul[=/=]Archibald Asparagus' seat. It may be nothing, but it could also be a subtle {{foreshadowing}} of David later taking over the throne through God's help.
** In the same episode, the French Peas call King Saul's men, "Pigs". [[StealthInsult Seeing how pork isn't kosher....]]
* The entire show is about the [[StealthPun Fruit of the Spirit.]]
* Pa Grape's transition from white trash to AmbiguouslyJewish was followed by him primarily appearing in [[Literature/TheBible Old Testament]] episodes (for those who don't know, the Old Testament is the Jewish scripture, known to the Jews as the Tanakh).
* All of the [=DVDs=] released before 2010 have {{Easter Egg}}s on them. And what is Easter? A Christian holiday.
* In "Rack, Shack, & Benny", Mr. Nezzer noticed (after he let his employees eat as many bunnies as they want) that the title characters were standing up when everyone else was lying down. Later, when he makes his employees worship the Bunny, everyone was lying (bowing) down, but the main characters were standing up for what they believed in. Very subtle {{Foreshadowing}}.
* The Bad Apple uses temptation to bend others to her will. The fruit that Adam and Eve were tempted into eating in the book of Genesis is usually depicted as an apple.
* ''Lord of the Beans'':
** The fellowship gets imprisoned by the Elders of the Razzberry Forest for laughing at [[BlowingARaspberry their language]]. Given that Scaryman eventually reveals that the Elders are working with him, it's possible that they intentionally lured the heroes into a jail-worthy offense so that they could detain them for Scaryman without raising suspicion.
** The eagle the fellowship tries to use to escape seems to come out of nowhere...unless you're familiar with the Eagles from Tolkien's work and the massive conflict in the fanbase about why the questers there didn't convince the Eagles to fly them to Mt. Doom. In this case, the reason was that the eagle refused.
* Junior is extremely cowardly in ''The League of Incredible Vegetables''. Don't forget that this version of Junior was kidnapped by a giant fib, brought to the top of the water tower, and could have been eaten. Who wouldn't be scarred for life after that?
* The last episode to play the original theme song (on first-print [=DVDs=]) was ''Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella,'' an episode where Larry learns to overcome his fear of being laughed at. Come the new version of the theme song, Larry is no longer afraid of playing the tuba, his cries of "I'll look silly!" and "They better not laugh" being removed from the sequence altogether. He finally found his confidence!

* Veggies eating veggies:
** In "Sweetpea Beauty," the titular character, played by Petunia Rhubarb, is singing a cute little song about how not so nice or pretty things like bees and mud are useful and are in some way beautiful. Then she sings a line about peeling an onion. In a world populated by sentient vegetables.
** In the song "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldnLxqCo3dU Pizza Angel]]" Larry spends the song desiring his pizza, with TOMATO sauce.
*** Which makes the numerous references to pizza throughout the series much creepier.
** At the end of "Where's God When I'm S-scared?", Qwerty accidentally shows a recipe for "yummy meatloaf" instead of a Bible verse. The recipe says to use half an onion.
** In the infamous "Forgive-O-Matic" skit from "God Wants Me to Forgive Them?!", the scallion mentions that the Forgive-O-Matic can also make french fries. Even creepier because a potato actually appears as a character earlier in that skit.
** In "The New and Improved Bunny Song" from "Very Silly Songs", Nezzer laments that he didn't eat his salad.
** WordOfGod is that it's okay to eat non-sentient food items; presumably the vegetables above weren't sentient.
** "Moe and the Big Exit" has the "river of blood" plague be "river of tomato juice", presumably ''sentient'' tomato juice given that Bob's character falls over in a dead faint when the substance is identified. Then again, [[FridgeBrilliance what else would the VeggieTales equivalent of blood be but the fruit and vegetable juice of the sentient characters?]] Sure it's morbid in context but no more morbid than the original tale when translated back to human terms.
** During the "Feel The Beat" musical number in "Celery Night Fever", Khalil, a caterpillar, chops up several non-sentinent vegetables in front of sentinent vegetables.
* The "Island of [[TickleTorture Perpetual Tickling]]" mentioned in ''Esther'' is intended to be a G-rated version of the hangings in the original Bible story, but once you know that there have been at least ten recorded cases in RealLife of people [[DieLaughing dying of laughter]], it doesn't take too long to realize that being banished there would be a very painful way to die.
** If it's any consolation, it's a humiliating punishment at worst since none of the characters have any lungs, or even internal organs for that matter, [[LiteralMinded because they are fruits and veggies.]] Talking and living fruits and veggies with nothing but mouths and eyes, yes, but still fruits and veggies!
** Ditto for the babies floating "up the river" in "Moe and the Big Exit": the baskets would likely be soaked and sink, causing the babies to drown.
* In "An Easter Carol", Hope shows Ebenezer what the world would look like without the hope of Easter, which culminates in the reveal that Edmund has passed away. However, this isn't actually the most likely future: during the church service, the French Peas arrive to tear down the church ''from the inside'', and Ebenezer just barely stops them in time. If he had been a second later, ''everyone'' would have died. Ebenezer would have had to live with that guilt for the rest of his life.
