3	* DarthWiki/DarthWiki, fits the Vader/Anakin character. Darth Wiki is place part to have fun in and Vader is one of the coolest characters, but Darth Wiki is also a place for whining and Anakin is full of wangst in eyes of many fans.
4	%%* When Website/TVTropes switched the default search device to Google, I was annoyed considering how inaccurate Google can be. And there were all the reasons to consider (less wear on the server, spelling is less of a big deal, etc.) but none of them really sold me on it. Then I realized something: During Archive/TheGreatCrash what was [[NoPlansNoPrototypeNoBackup the main type of backup]] we had? Google caches.
5	* The trope title AerithAndBob is meant to invoke the AliceAndBob page, but also matches with the long-standing (but ultimately false) ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' rumor that Aerith's name was supposed to be "Alice," and the name makes even ''more'' sense.
6	%%** Not only that, but try pronouncing the name from its country of origin, Japan. It was pronounced as "Aerisu". Since the letter "u" in Japan is silent, it can also be pronounced "Aeris", as it was in the translation of the original ''Final Fantasy VII''. And since in Japan the letter "l" and "r" can mix, the name can also be pronounced as "Aelis", or "Alice".
7	%%** Additionally, "Aeris" would be more recognizable as a pun on "Alice", but the trope name spells it "Aerith" ''because the trope is about names that don't fit together being in the same work!'' The trope name is self-demonstrating!
8	* EveryoneIsJesusInPurgatory can be misread as "If you're in purgatory then you're Jesus." However, it's making fun of people reading too far into things, ultimately leading to them saying, "Everyone is Jesus, also they're in Purgatory."
9	* The meaning of the words "SequelHook": The question mark looks like a hook.
10	* How long did it take you to realize that there's a reason the Website/TVTropes logo has a [[LampshadeHanging lampshade hung]] on it?

12	%%* I was going through NothingIsScarier and I thought the title meant, "Nothing is scarier than nothing." But then I realized it was more of, "Nothing is scarier than everything else."
13	%%* I was writing an essay on {{Fandom}}s and social linking through them and was halfway down my paragraph about Fan Dumb, when it hit me: "Fan Dumb? Fan Dumb... Oh! ''{{Fandom}}!''" Then I proceeded to laugh myself stupid for not noticing the pun sooner.
14	* When people refer to a "scoop" of Eye Scream, it's a pun on the term "a scoop of ice cream," and makes further sense since the character gets their eyes scooped out.
15	* Many people think that in scifi/fantasy, the common BizarreSexualDimorphism where the female of a race looks like a CuteMonsterGirl and the male most definitely looks monstrous/unhuman ismeant to appeal to male fans. It makes sense, right? But if you think about it wouldn't that also mean that even the manliest human would look a lot like a female of their own species to an alien male? Cue the fanfics...
16	%%** Creator/TheodoreSturgeon's short sci-fi story "[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_Well_Lost The World Well Lost]]" is based on exactly this. In it an alien couple land on Earth and request asylum. They never reveal exactly why they're on the run, but everyone they meet are so touched by their relationship that they agree to help them. Later on it's revealed that [[spoiler:although they look like a straight couple to humans, they are in fact both male -- their females look completely different. They were on the run because their people disapproved of homosexuality, and they were relatively safe on Earth because, to their culture, Earth is a planet of [[DepravedHomosexual depraved homosexuals]] and best avoided.]]
17	* MiningAccidentOnTroy is a StealthPun - combining MoleMiner (the trope of a character, like a mole, who mines) and TheMole's (Villainous spy pretending to be an ally to the heroes) background - so naturally it would be a ''mining'' accident.
18	* In DarthWiki/HowNotToWriteATLPDraft, there were potholes for YourTrope. You might have clicked on it expecting to see some humorous lecture about how tropes belong to everyone, but the page is empty. There is literally no such thing as YourTrope.
19	* Alice talks to Bob, and starts with WithAllDueRespect followed immediately by a string of swears or insults. The usual reasoning is that it creates [[SophisticatedAsHell humorous contrast]], but it could much simpler than that: Alice is giving Bob [[ExactWords all the respect she feels he's due]].
20	* When you read the trope DeadHorseGenre, you come to the realization that: a.) practically anything and everything that ever got a lick of success anywhere in the world gets to be a DHG eventually; b.) a lot of the styles mentioned as a DHG were competing against each other in the same pop culture space, and maybe were even ''conceived'' as an antidote or antithesis to another popular style; c.) if they were popular once, [[PopularityPolynomial they may well become popular again]] with at least ''somebody'', at least if given a new lease on life, and d.) because the styles did become [[HypeBacklash popular to the point of overkill]], HypeBacklash and a certain amount of Fan Dumb will always be a factor in the perception of those styles of music. The critics and tastemakers who declared them "dead" often ''were'' [[AscendedFan ascended fans]], after all, perhaps [[ItsPopularNowItSucks overreacting to a style's overexposure]], [[OpinionMyopia not necessarily fans of the style (or fans of a different style) to begin with]], and/or [[SturgeonsLaw whining about the amount of below-average examples that inevitably rears its head as more and more people adopt that genre]].
21	* The trope name MindScrew is a Bowdlerised version of the phrase Mind Fuck.
22	%%* At first, I didn't get the rationale behind Administrivia/InUniverseExamplesOnly, thinking that the only cases where that would apply would be works about a ShowWithinAShow which would severely limit the examples. I also wondered if these pages would ever even be proposed as tropes for storytelling as opposed to audience reactions, and thought it was just a cheap way to basically cut a page without cutting it by [[InNameOnly totally redefining it to something different than its original intent]]. Then I actually read some of the pages that were subjected to this treatment and discovered that not only are there a ''lot'' of ShowWithinAShow examples of things such as AdaptationDecay, but that there are a lot of other ways for audience reactions to be reflected in-universe. Maybe the characters just have the same reaction as the audience probably has to a situation, or maybe the show has NoFourthWall and directly comments on its own storytelling techniques. So making a page have Administrivia/InUniverseExamplesOnly doesn't cripple it nearly as much as I thought.
23	* On the page for ''Film/ETTheExtraTerrestrial'', someone changed ChekhovsGun to Chekhov's Walkie-Talkie. This is a reference to the special edition where the guns were changed to walkie-talkies. [[note]]This would normally have been a casualty of the policy change banning potholed trope names, but it was retained as part of a note.[[/note]]
24	* The DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment image says "Cat Toy; for cats". This isn't just RuleOfFunny or for a SelfDemonstratingArticle: it means that this cat toy is made ''specifically'' for cats, and not supposed to be used by any other animals e.g. no loaning to other animals.
25	* When looking at the second entry of [[YMMV/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic the Friendship is Magic YMMV page]] under "OlderThanTheyThink", you read

Well, if you go by the correct definitions of many slang terms, "gay, faggot, fag," gay means happy, faggot usually means a pile of sticks but can technically mean a pile of anything, and fag means cigarette, so what's really being said is, "faggot gay fag," which is what bronies get called a lot of the time. Whoever that editor is, s/he's a genius.
28	* In the older versions of OverlyLongGag, the page image shows up repeatedly ''inside'' the folders. This is ''not'' a technical glitch; rather, it's a sneaky joke that makes the page a SelfDemonstratingArticle.
29	* The reason why the ThatOneLevel, ThatOneAchievement, and ThatOneBoss tropes are called that? It means "Yeah, the game isn't hard, it's just that one level/achievement/boss."
30	* The images in SugarWiki/SugarWiki's and DarthWiki/DarthWiki's home pages are opposites: a dark character turned sweet, and a sweet character turned dark.
31	* LouisCypher is usually a trope that unsubtlty hints that someone is the Devil or a demon and can be a little silly. But it actually makes sense theologically. Satan is above all guilty of {{pride}}, so of course he can't resist putting in a reference to himself even when he's supposed to be incognito.
