* In the episode "Asspen", the dorky-hot-girl doesn't make a move on Stan after he wins the race despite clearly having a crush on him. In fact, she just tells him to be with Heather. Why? Because she knew Stan - or any other guy for that matter - would instantly find her repulsive as soon as they saw her "breasts."
* In the episode "The Death of Eric Cartman", all the kids discuss the fact that Stan, Kyle, and Kenny have all agreed to completely ignore Cartman. When ''all'' of the kids agree in unison to ignore Cartman as well, Timmy goes from being expressionless to smiling while they talk amongst themselves about how good an idea it is. Even Timmy hates Cartman.
** Another moment from the episode. After Cartman [[PokeThePoodle eats all the skin off his friends' KFC]], Kenny starts crying. At first, it seems like he's crying because, as Stan says, the skin is the best part. But if you think about it, Kenny's family is poor, so he probably doesn't get to have food that tastes as good to him often. Cartman just unknowingly ruined a rare moment for him to have something tasty. Doubles as a Fridge TearJerker.
** Adding to this, it makes a lot of sense why Stan, Kyle, and Kenny stopped talking to Cartman after this incident, even though he did way worse stuff in the past. It's not that Cartman ruined Stan and Kyle's dinner, it's that he ruined ''Kenny's'' and also drove him to tears. Kenny is the youngest of the four boys and the "The Vaccination Special" confirms that he is pretty much TheBabyOfTheBunch. While Cartman did make other people suffer way worse, Stan and Kyle weren't as close to those people as they are to Kenny. Also, after Cartman ate all the skin, Stan was the one who yelled at him, even though Kyle has a bigger temper and hates Cartman a lot more. Stan is also the one who claimed that Cartman went way too far, and who made the suggestion they should all ignore Cartman. Out of the group, [[BigBrotherInstinct Stan is the most protective towards Kenny]]; thus it makes sense he would be the most furious and that he would take action to stop Cartman from hurting Kenny again.
** His [[spoiler:future bond with Heidi after they leave Twitter likely has to do with this episode. Here, Cartman's former isolation allows him to sympathize with Heidi's situation, as he's experienced being ignored before.]]
** Although originally, Cartman could have had something up his sleeve when talking to Heidi. His actual redemption begins when he experiences an otherworldly effect as he lays eyes on Heidi's vagina.
* Combination Fridge Brilliance and Horror. Eric Cartman's mother has been shown to be a bad parent in early seasons, constantly bending to her son's will and doing whatever he wants after he prods and acts like a brat. Cartman, at this point, was really no worse than a typical whiny 8-year-old. Over the many, many years of the series, however, he may have realized that he's good at manipulating people, since he's able to get anything he wants from his mother even when the answer is initially no.\
\
One of Cartman's biggest tools in his more deranged goals (which occur later in the series) is his ability to influence people and get them to do what he wants. It's possible that he either learned this from practicing on his mom without her even attempting to nip it in the bud before it became an issue, or he learned through his upbringing with her that he's just naturally good at it. The events of the episode "Tsst" may have actually exacerbated the matter, since by then, Cartman was a full-fledged sociopath. His tendency/desire to control people may have shifted from his mother, who finally stopped letting him push her around, to the other kids/citizens of South Park. We've seen what Cartman can do [[{{Determinator}} when he really, REALLY wants something]] and needs to [[RousingSpeech rally people toward his cause]], no matter how ridiculous. He evolved from "But m-o-o-o-o-o-m..." to "Wie mussen die Juden ausrotten!"
* "Tsst" was really very clever. Take into account that by that point the writers admitted Cartman had become a kind of sub-human monster. They couldn't top him any more, so they took him back down. The Super-Nannies treated him as a normal child, but of course Cartman has become like a hybrid of UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler and Skeletor in the later episodes (the early ones, he was just a bratty fat kid who used whining and begging to make his mom do what he wants, not unlike how most kids are these days). Treating him as a child didn't work as he saw it as insulting to his intelligence. Cartman knows that a lot of people don't like him and he doesn't particuarly care most of the time. Being friendly is a sign of weakness, punishments are just another way of saying he's done something that bothers you. The answer? Bring in a ''dog trainer'' who gives him a taste of what it's like to be treated as less than human. If you refuse to act like a human being, you can't expect to be treated like one.
** The ''Film/AlteredStates'' part at the end jokes that for a while it's been some sort of sick demonic force controlling Cartman, rather than him. Oh, he's still spoiled and selfish and a JerkAss afterwards because StatusQuoIsGod, but most of his episodes after that have used his leadership abilities slightly more humanely - patrolling the halls like a mercenary cop, manipulating kids into giving him blood samples to test for nits, saving the World of Warcraft from a jerk, helping Mexican kids get into college by teaching them that cheating isn't so bad. Good deeds are now an option for his character, as well as selfish ones.
*** Well, Cartman has done more outwardly good deeds, but with hidden selfish motives. He's also done much worse than he has before Tsst; for example, manipulating Cthulhu to murder millions of people- and taking great pleasure while doing so.
*** There's an episode of ''Series/{{Angel}}'' where Angel and his crew investigate what appears to be a demon possessing a little boy, only to discover once they've exorcised the demon that the little boy was evil and sociopathic anyway. Similarly, even if Cartman was possessed by a demon, there's nothing to suggest he wasn't a complete {{Jerkass}} to begin with.
** Watch him insulting Nanny Stella. She's not angry at him for insulting her fertility or looks. Some women love kids but don't want to ''have'' them. But those are some seriously cruel words, right when she thought she was getting somewhere. He insulted her ability to judge and rehabilitate children. Doubtless a woman that plain has had a lot of insults about her appearance, but she prides herself on her job, and Cartman just showed her that she completely misjudged him. And worst of all, she knows that was his goal.
* Why does Bebe have such a bizarre name (for an American, at least)? Because her Mom is shown to be TheDitz, so it'd make sense for her to name Bebe a rather foreign, out-there name.
** Not entirely, actually, as "Bebe" is a fairly common name, as it's the French name meaning "baby" and French names are pretty popular, if not very common, here, however, the name "Bebe" tends to be short Beatrice or a name that begins with "Be", in which case it would be pronounced "Bee-Bee".
* Some Fridge Logic adds more [[HoYay Ho Yay]] between Stan and Kyle. During "The Jeffersons", when Stan hears a knock on his window, he says "Kyle?". Then, in "Crack Baby Athletic Association", Stan wakes up comepletely unfased by Kyle in his room. That's right. Stan's used to Kyle randomly coming to his room at night.
** Maybe they've snuck over to each other's houses to hang out against their parents orders. They are kids and best friends, after all.
* "Tonsil Trouble" (the [=AIDS=] episode) makes a lot more sense if you view it in the context of other WesternAnimation/SouthPark episodes (particularly ''Ginger Kids''). In many of those episodes, Cartman acts insensitively and so Kyle (and sometimes Stan) try to force him to "walk a mile in someone else's shoes", and it always backfires horribly. In this episode, it's reversed: Kyle acts insensitively towards Cartman for having [=AIDS=], so Cartman gives him [=AIDS=]to give him some perspective. Cartman not just giving Kyle perspective on [=AIDS=], he's also giving Kyle perspective on trying to teach him lessons!
** He acts insensitively most likely because of Cartman's OWN lack of recognition of his own lack of sensitivity. Cartman infecting Kyle isn't just his usual PayEvilUntoEvil mentality, but also another in a series of MoralEventHorizon crossing acts.
** Also consider how many times through the seasons that Cartman wishes or threatens [=AIDS=]on Kyle ... Stan even lampshades that Kyle finds it funny because of the irony.
* One might wonder what people like Gandhi and John F, Kennedy are doing in Hell. It's not because they were bad people. As "Probably" shows, only Mormons can get into Heaven.
* Cartman might've gotten his wish in ''Cartoon Wars''. They never ''did'' find the manatee ball that he removed. So, given that possibility, ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' was cancelled in the ''South Park'' universe.
** The gang did briefly watch an airing of ''Family Guy'' in "Canada on Strike", though that could have been a re-run.
*** In real life ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' has been ScrewedByTheNetwork just to be UnCancelled. This could've been the case.
* In The Coon/Cthulhu/Mysterion Saga, Cthulhu is animated with advanced computer animation in contrast to everyone else, who look like shitty little construction paper. While at first this may appear to just be another parody of the shows animation like the way Mecha Streisand was animated in "201", it can also be interpreted as illustrating how otherworldly Cthulhu is. The original stories of H.P. Lovecraft like "Call of Cthulhu" would go into great detail about how hideous Cthulhu was in his appearance, being so alien he drives men mad when they look at him. Having three dimensions and a more detailed body may just be the way his appearance manifests in the South Park universe.
** It says even more about [[TheSociopath Cartman]] in knowing that he was able to stare Cthulhu [[http://southparkstudios.mtvnimages.com/shared/downloads/images/season-14/1412/1412-cartman-cthulhu-press-image.jpg straight in the eyes]] [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight with no reaction whatsoever]].
* Kenny has, on several occasions, died due to engaging in self-destructive or self-sacrificial behavior. He electrocuted himself to restore power to a hospital. He cracked his head open to release Moses from a conch shell. He willingly contracted syphilis getting a BJ from a girl. He heard about autoerotic asphyxiation and immediately decided to try it, even knowing it would kill him. He's gotten addicted to cat pee and eaten horrific things for money. All of this behavior suddenly makes a lot more sense after the Coon trilogy, where he reveals that he knows about all his deaths and resurrections, and thus, has no reason to fear death (well, other than the pain involved).
** In "Going Native", well after the reason for Kenny's returns has been canonised, he's washed down a waterfall in Hawaii. But he tries not to be washed down it, just the same. Later he washes up on a riverbank, rather than out of his mom's vagina. So he knows that sometimes he ''does'' survive, and hell but it must hurt.
* Kenny's defining trait is [[DirtyKid his obsession with sex]]. There are a lot of explanations as to why he turned out this way:
** Going on the above, Kenny engages in reckless sexual behavior because he knows he can come back from the grave and nobody will remember what he did.
** Kenny's parents are neglectful drunks who get violent with one another and don't do a good job of supporting him. The combination of stress, poverty, and neglect drives him to promiscuity so he can fill the void where his parents' care should be.
** Kenny apparently has to be the one to care of his younger sister. This responsibility also adds to his stress.
* In "Kenny Dies", the Make-a-Wish foundation asks Kenny what he'd like, and he says "To not die." At first this makes little sense in hindsight since Kenny knows he'll just come back eventually after this death, but maybe what he really wants is to not die, ever again - not just this one time.
* At the end of "The Ring", Kenny's funeral looks as extravagant as it did in his past ("Kenny Dies", "Spontaneous Combustion", etc.) This begs the question of how his family could possibly pay for all of these services and burials when his deaths keep happening over and over again. One of the reasons they remain so poor is ''because'' they have to continue to pay for all of these funeral expenses.
** Maybe they have life-insurance on him? They get it paid up fast, he gets reborn, people forget and they take it out again. Of course, funerals are expensive, so every funeral eats it up again. That's why his parents are so miserable when he dies.
* A promo for Season 14 showed Cartman doing his own version of Coppercab's "GINGERS HAVE SOULS!" video. A few episodes into that season, Cartman learns that he is half-ginger, explaining why he's once again advocating for them.
* In "City Sushi," we learn that Tuong-Lu Kim, the owner of City Wok, [[spoiler:is actually a split personality of Dr. William Janus. This perfectly explains why he has always seemed like such an over-the-top, racist caricature of a Chinese man - because he IS actually a white man doing just that]].
* As mentioned in "T.M.I.", the smaller a person's penis is, the angrier they are. [[HairTriggerTemper Cartman of all people]] proved to have the smallest one.
** UsefulNotes/OsamaBinLaden was revealed to have a microscopic penis in [[Recap/SouthParkS5E9OsamaBinLadenHasFartyPants "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants"]]. Also take into account that the Japanese kept talking about their tiny penises in the Chinpokomon episode and their murderous vendetta that's been going on since WWII.
*** 'Chinpoko' is Japanese for 'tiny penis'; the [[GagPenis 'you American have big penis']] RunningGag just [[BilingualBonus took on an extra dimension.]] Makes sense since we know Trey lived in Japan and is fluent in the language.
* Kenny's possible connection to Cthulhu not only explains his immortality, but also ''why'' he dies so often--the universe doesn't want the spawn of Cthulhu to continue existing, so it's constantly trying to get rid of him to no avail.
* Cartman wasn't around for any of Kenny's immortal angst. It is possible that Cartman is the only one of the boys that is aware of Kenny's deaths, but is just too selfish to care.
** This is further magnified in the second season episode "Flashbacks". Cartman addresses an instance in which Kenny was previously crushed by a motorcycle, only to have the 'false' memory shot down by Stan and Kyle, who insist that Kenny was just killed by a monster earlier in the episode. "Kenny just died eight hours ago from that monster! How could he have died back then, too?" Cartman decides they must be right, and drops it.
*** That episode turned out to be all of Stan's dream, though this might imply that Cartman has mentioned Kenny’s deaths before enough for Stan to dream about it.
** Fridge Brilliance layered upon more Fridge Brilliance if you take into account the season 9 episode, "Best Friends Forever." After eight years, the South Park creators finally gave us a solid reason WHY Cartman was Kenny's best friend: because he remembers the most important thing about him!
*** Cartman has been possessed by a demonic spirit a la Film/AlteredStates ... maybe that's how he remembers ...
** In "The Succubus" Catman has his eyes surgically replaced with the eyes of a recently killed Kenny, maybe since then he's literally been seeing the world through Kenny's eyes.
* On the subject of the other three boys awareness of Kenny's deaths, it is possible that because they spend so much time with him, whatever dark magic was used to make Kenny immortal loses its influence on them from time to time. It would explain why sometimes the boys are horrified, but other times are very nonchalant about it.
** It should noted that in [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness early seasons]], being that it was considered a normal event, [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight it was treated more nonchalant by the cast]]. Past season 7 and Mysterion, [[RetCon it's almost always met with horror due to their minds being wiped every time.]]
* A meta example for Stan Marsh. Several episodes such as "Chef Aid", "Guitar Queer-O", and "Butterballs" displays HiddenDepths of him being musically talented. This makes sense because [[AuthorAvatar Stan is based on Trey Parker]], who earned a music major in college!
* In "Cherokee Hair Tampons", Stan is worried Kyle is going to die and mentions aloud that he can't handle this. Kenny then makes angry eyes at Stan, further proving that Kenny remembers his own deaths. Also, in "Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo", Kenny knowing he's supposed to die and the celebration at the end when he doesn't. Finally it makes sense!
* The parody of ''Inception'' was based on a College Humor parody, so that it means it's a parody of a parody, which really fits.
* When Kenny dies, Stan, Kyle and Eric replace him first with Butters, then with Tweek. But why? It's simple: hair colors. Stan is black-haired, Kyle is redhead, and Cartman is brunette. Kenny, Butters, and Tweek are all blondes.
** All three are voiced by Matt Stone as well, thus making two of the kids voiced by Trey Parker and the other two Matt Stone, no matter the combination.
* Although it showed it in the most MindScrew-y way possible, the episode "1%" was actually a ''huge'' moment of CharacterDevelopment for Cartman. After everyone spends the entire episode trying to find out who is murdering Cartman's stuffed animals one by one, it turns out to be ... [[spoiler: Polly Prissypants]]. But wait, it gets better. The doll ''isn't'' sentient. The true killer? [[spoiler: Cartman. His friends had told him to grow up and stop using his dolls for emotional support, and he did just that. And, Cartman being Cartman, he ended up turning his very last play-session with his beloved dolls into an (extremely disturbing) reenactment of a murder mystery.]] Notice how Cartman made himself the "victim" of the story, just like he does at his tea parties. The whole thing is brilliant, really.
** Quickly lapses into FridgeHorror when you consider that [[spoiler: Cartman ''set his own house on fire.'' With him and his mother '''still inside.''']]
** Adding onto the FridgeHorror, [[spoiler: Kyle points out that Cartman murdered his stuffed animals after he teased him and told him to grow up. ''How much of Cartman's actions have been sparked by the other kid's constant teasing?'']]
* In "Pandemic", Craig's Prophecy is FridgeBrilliance - Craig is special because he does not blindly go along with other people's stupid ideas, but decides to take control of his life, unlike everybody else allowing themselves to be a plaything of the universe. The prophecy of him defeating a giant guinea-pig is also a stupid idea, but a prophecy is something that ''must'' happen. Still, if he had actively stood there and ''tried'' to fulfil that prophecy he would have been allowing himself to be the universe's plaything - just like everybody else. But he decided to take control of his life even when faced with what should be fate, and resolved to walk away. And that was ''exactly'' what led to him accidentally [[spoiler:shooting ''lasers'' out of his eyes and destroying a giant guinea-pirate.]]
** The duology was about pointing out you don't have to be pushed around by the world, and that you should think for yourself - the reason everything went wrong was because everybody just did what the head of Homeland Security told them. They didn't even question ''why'' he was in charge, or try to question all the strange orders that just seemed stupid.
** This is a recurring theme in ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' - there are other 'Chosen Ones' and they have saved the world by taking control in some way. In ''South Park The Movie'' Cartman saves the world when he finally takes control of that bullying V-Chip. In ''Imaginationland'' Butters saves Imaginationland (and by extension the world) by understanding he can take full control of everything in Imaginationland because it's in his imagination.
*** Butters was stated to be a ChosenOne by Aslan; Craig was 'just' part of an ancient Peruvian prophecy. Cartman was not said by anybody to be a ChosenOne but both prophecies and Chosen Ones clearly exist in ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'', and if shooting lightning from all over your body and driving back the hordes of Hell doesn't make you a ChosenOne in some way ...
*** Kenny wasn't the one who killed Cthulu, but if he hadn't busted his way out of another dimension, by extension Mint Berry Crunch wouldn't have been there to do it. And keep in mind that Kenny's immortality is his ''only'' power (which is part of why he feels it sucks so much). He could never have beaten Cthulu.
* Also in the first episode of the Imaginationland trilogy, Butters asks the mayor if he was going to rape them. Think about it, the boys have had to deal with sexual deviants in two other episodes: one was about another grown man who rode around in a whimsical vehicle and ended up being into bestiality (''Chicken Lover''), and the other had a whole group of men who were into little boys (''Cartman Joins NAMBLA"). It's possible that his being wary of a strange grown man telling him to get on a hot air balloon was a result of these past experiences.
** In "The Return of Chef", Butters points out that his uncle used to molest him when one of the faculty members is licking a doll's crotch area to demonstrate potential molestation which they need to know whether or not Chef (who has been brainwashed into a pedophile by the Super Adventure Club) perpetrated against them, so Butters himself is well-aware due to confirmed sexual abuse in his family.
* In "T.M.I.", Butters has the best penis size in his age group (of the known boys; there are lots of boys on that list we don't know in the series). That proves the formula is right, and bigger penises make a guy happier!
** Considering how much people care about penis size, of course there are guys going to be happy about having a big penis. It doesn't mean everyone with a big penis is happy, but this rule does apply to some.
* Cartman's "killing" his dolls because he was told to grow up explains why he's becoming less of sociopathic JerkAss in Season 16: he's finally growing up, even if it's only a little bit.
** Cartman is still very much a sociopathic JerkAss in season 16 and onward, just much more calculating and subtle than previous seasons. He's also much more paranoid; a callback to his SanitySlippage from 1%. In fact, Cartman may be even more unhinged than previous seasons. Cartman may be growing up, but not for the better ...
* One clever thing from "Lesbo's" is that it is a parody of ''Film/ThreeHundred'. What is the original Lesbos? An island in Greece! What are its people called? Lesbians!
* Butters' "creamy goo" is a hit with all of South Park's "Sarcastaball" players ... until Randy samples it, and recognizes it as cum. Now, how would he know that, if not for [[AmbiguouslyGay personal experience ...]] He did watch another man masturbate before. He's also been in a pile of naked men to stop people from the future from coming back in time, so maybe he learned the taste there. (Remember him briefly wiping his mouth before speaking to the news reporter..) Or he could simply have tasted his own. Sometimes you spill it and lack paper towels ...
* In "Chickenlover", one of the plot points is the titular antagonist, who has sex with chickens. Yes it might be a [[BestialityIsDepraved rather line-crossing bestiality act]], but "chick", slang term for woman, is also how young chickens are called.
* In later seasons, especially in episodes like ''A History Channel Thanksgiving'' and ''Jewpacabra'', Kyle is extremely sceptical of anything supposedly paranormal or scientifically inexplicable. This is quite a contrast to Kyle in earlier seasons, being taken in by Blainetologists and John Edward and the like. Clearly his past experiences caused him to adopt a policy of rigorous scepticism and critical thinking. Though it does veer ever-so-slightly towards FlatEarthAtheist sometimes, given that he himself possesses concrete, first-hand knowledge of the existence of aliens, ghosts and cryptozoological animals.
* In the episode "Goobacks", a bunch of Rednecks, tired of Future Immigrants coming to their time and taking their jobs, decide that the only way to defeat them was to "Get Gay" and have a massive gay orgy in front of the Time machine until the entire future ceases to exist. At first, it seems like a completely stupid (and completely hilarious) idea, but this idea could actually work ... If it turned one guy gay, who ends up having the great great grand kid of the guy who made the original time machine! If the guy who will eventually have grand child who invents the time machine turns gay, then he cannot pass his genes down, and the person who invented the Time Machine wouldn't exist, thus, no one could go back in time! So it actually worked after all!
* In "Smug Alert", when all Southparkian fathers drove a Hybrid car and thought this would save the earth: Two brilliancies for the price of one! The Greek root has two main meanings, a) hybris, which translates as, well, hubris. b) The other being "mix", "union" (a hybrid car has both electric and gasoline motors), or the term mainly used in biology: bastard. "Oh my god! They're killing the earth!"
* In "A Nightmare On Face Time", the only times Randy snaps out of his [[Film/TheShining Jack Torrence-style madness]] over his Blockbuster Video store is when he talks to Shelley, his daughter. This is an inversion of the real life behind-the-scenes issues on ''Film/TheShining'', where there was a great deal of tension between director Stanley Kubrick and the female lead, ''Shelley'' Duvall.
* Creator/JayLeno appears in a couple of episodes looking like how he does in real life, but in "City on the Edge Forever" his chin is comically large to the point where it touches the floor. Since that episode was AllJustADream, it makes more sense why it's different in that one episode.
* Why does Music/EltonJohn show during Chef's song in "A Pig Makes Love to An Elephant?" It's established in "Chef Aid" the two were friends, he stopped by to help Chef with his song.
* The school undergoing ArtEvolution and a different layout in later episodes makes more sense when you remember it was rebuilt after burning down in season 7's "Butt Out"
* In "Butterballs", we see that Butter's grandma bullies him. A few seasons earlier in "Freak Strike", she had a stroke when she saw Butters on ''Maury Povich''. Either the stroke changed her personality or she was bullying him as revenge.
** Alternatively there's some sense in the abuse Butters receives from his parents under the notion [[TroubledAbuser one of them grew up with her as]] ''[[AbusiveParents their mother]]''.
* In "The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer", the boys end up having to make a deal with Shelly, to have the TV if they buy her tampons. Long story short, they end up forgetting and when they return to the house, they nearly drown in a wave of period blood. Considering ridiculously much Shelly apparently menstruates, it's revealed why she's always angry: She's always on her period.
** Either that or she became cynical and saw everything as shit once she turned 10, as "You're Growing Up" showed Stan experiencing. She's only 13, a few years older than Stan, and that could be why she refers to everyone as turds.
* On the Chinpokomon episode, it's been pointed out that when the kids are speaking Japanese, they call their teacher "Garrison-San" instead of "Garrison-Sensei." This is usually considered a mistake on the creators' part, but considering how little respect the kids have for Mr. Garrison, they may very well have been doing it intentionally.
* In "The Succubus" when the boys go to see Chef at his new job, they say he's the big guy with a beard and Chef's hat. The receptionist says "Oh the black guy," and the boys look stunned. It's established in "Chef Goes Nanners" they don't see a problem with the town flag due to being racially color blind, hence why they reacted that way.
* Why does Ike sound like more like Gerald when he takes hormones as opposed to Terrence or Phillip? He's been living in America most of his life, he's lost his Canadian accent.
* Cartman's hatred of gingers could stem from the events of "Scott Tennorman Must Die", given Scott himself was a redhead.
* Tweek is shorter than the other boys. His growth could be stunted from all the coffee he drinks.
* "The Ungroundable" is a [[StealthSequel sequel]] [[SequelEpisode episode]] to "Elementary School Musical." Both involve new trends like ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' and ''Film/HighSchoolMusical''. The kids simply moved from one fad to another.
* Saddam Hussein is BackFromTheDead in episodes such as "Krazy Kripples" and "It's Christmas in Canada." At the end of "Probably" Satan sends him to Heaven because he can't deal with him anymore. God and the residents of Heaven probably couldn't deal with him so they sent him back to Earth.
* The boys meet Stevie Nicks in [[Recap/SouthParkS5E9OsamaBinLadenHasFartyPants "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants"]] and she's portrayed as a goat. In "Chef Aid" when he's showing the boys pictures of musicians he used to know, it shows a picture of Chef in bed with a goat. Instead of a cheap joke about bestiality, Chef had made love to Stevie Nicks.
* Fictional characters we see coexisting with the characters such as [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Bart Simpson]] (Cartoon Wars Part II) and WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse (The Ring and Obama Wins!) could've possibly escaped from Imagination Land.
* At the end of "The Coon" [[TheUnreveal Mysterion reveals himself and is taken to jail.]] In The Coon Trilogy, we learn that Kenny is Mysterion and that he is reborn (with all memories intact) anytime he dies, and he's the only one who remembers it. Considering Kenny is out of jail in the next episode, it's possible he killed himself in his cell.
* In "The Biggest Douche in the Universe," Stan mocks John Edwards by saying that he nominates him as ... well the biggest douche in the universe. And sure enough, aliens abduct Edwards and bring him to the Biggest Douche in the Universe award ceremony as a nominee. At first, this just seems like RuleOfFunny is in play. That is, until you realize that, according to "Cancelled," Earth is part of an immense RealityShow that aliens all over the universe watch. So it makes sense that they would catch onto Stan's insult and [[ThrowItIn roll with it]] for the next pageant.
* At the end of "Cartmanland", after Cartman sells the amusement park, he loses his money to the IRS and the rest goes to Kenny's family after he's killed on a ride. Kenny's family is still shown to be poor in future episodes, and more than likely spend their money on dope and alcohol, but Kenny is seen to be able to afford things out of his spending range (Jonas Brothers Tickets, the Mysterion costume, a PSP, tickets to the amusement park, etc) Since Kenny comes back to life, he more than likely kept some of the money.
* Mr. Garrison's first name is revealed as Herbert in "The Entity", but his name in "Cherokee Hair Tampons" is shown to be Ethan P. Garrison. This is more likely a pen name than a RetCon.
* ''Butt Out'' appears at first to be a strange {{Aesop}}: cigarette companies aren't that bad, while the anti-smoking lobby is full of arrogant, {{manipulative|Bastard}} {{jerk|Ass}}s who are ready to go to any lengths to make people believe in the evils of smoking. The makers of the show were just reversing the classic cartoon cliché of "Evil Cigarette Companies trying to hide the truth about Tobacco and brainwash people into buying cigarettes".
** What's more, it's parodying ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' itself. Kyle constantly points out the show's format, and the [[StrawCharacter Strawman Political]] gets taken to its logical extreme on both sides. For a show whose main message is that people should stop taking everything so darn seriously, it's utterly fitting.
*** "If you ask me, your show has become so preachy and full of morals that you have forgotten how to be funny!". This and another similar quote appear in Cartoon Wars Part II, yet a lot of people still complain about how Stone and Parker can't make fun of themselves while making fun of Family Guy.
*** Everybody does "Evil Cigarette Companies". There's nowhere to really go with it. On the other hand, we all know smoking is bad for us but Matt and Trey are pointing out that despite this, people still smoke. They also point out that politicians are as usual a bunch of hypocrites; they put taxes on cigarettes under the ruse of discouraging people from smoking, when they could just flat out ban them like marijuana or LSD.
* The writers of the "Imaginationland" trilogy weren't trying to be offensive by putting Jesus in along with the Council of Nine (nine of the world's most revered imaginary characters), they were subtly pointing religions like Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and the like don't believe in Jesus.
** In Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism, Jesus is considered a respected teacher and holy man, but he is not their Messiah. As a result, many of his qualities are presumed by them to be imaginary. This means that they ''imagined'' that was the case, hence, why he was in Imaginationland.
** Jesus would've fit in Imagination land one way or another because Imaginary Jesus is based on a modern highly-fictionalized stereotype of how people think of Jesus rather than a real human being Jesus would've been ... which also explains why Imaginary Jesus doesn't recognize the boys who he's met several other times through the series, if only in passing.
** What if Imaginary Jesus isn't actually based on the Jesus who once existed, but the Jesus people believe will [[SecondComing return?]] Now consider the fact that the scientists have been creating a portal that opens up a doorway into Imaginationland, [[FluffyCloudHeaven a world of wonder and joy gated off]] from [[{{Hell}} a world of intense evil]], and how they [[VideoGame/HalfLife1 opened that portal]] and [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt caused the nightmare world to flood into ours]].'''
** In ''Go, God, Go!'', the Otter Tribe Elder is trying to talk his people out of religious genocide by proposing that believing in God makes him real. Cue ''Imaginationland''.
* In a biblical context, "Jubilee" is a term that goes back to biblical times and refers to release from things like land ownership agreements. When Kenny saved the Jews from Haman during the season 3 episode "Jewbilee", that became their year of release from him, explaining why Moses decrees that the New Scouts will return to the campsite every year and commemorate his heroic act by making macaroni pictures in his honor.
* In "Funnybot", Cartman is able to speak fluent German and have a conversation with German scientists. This may seem like HiddenDepths, but when you remember [[UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler a certain idol of his]] ...
** Ironically, his idol is Austrian but it does make sense.
*** Not really irony: Austrians speak German.
*** Actually, it's irony in the sense of how some, much like Cartman, wouldn't know that Hitler was actually Austrian, as opposed to German.
* In "200" and "201", various deities are depicted doing outrageous things to demonstrate the double standard of what they can get away with while still not being able to show the prophet Muhammad in any way. Probably the wildest one was Buddha's out-of-control cocaine habit. It makes sense that Buddhism would get the worst of it; the censored Aesop was about using violence to get your way, and Buddhism is well known for its pacifist values.
* The absence of the UsefulNotes/WiiU in the Black Friday trilogy makes sense from a kid their age's perspective. The system is often considered "babyish" or "nerdy" by gamers in [[PeripheryDemographic their demographic]] because it doesn't have games such as ''VideoGame/CallOfDuty'' and ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAuto'', let alone strong third-party support, a contributing factor to the console's commercial failure. Therefore, they would have no reason to buy it.
** Cartman wanted a Wii in The "Go God Go" two parter, but doesn't want one here. The Wii U doesn't have ports of those games, while the Wii had ports of more adult games like ''Franchise/MortalKombat'' and ''Franchise/ResidentEvil''. Alternatively, Cartman could already have a Wii U or going by the entry that the kids are growing up too fast, he's moved on to more mature gaming.
** On a meta level, it may be simply because ''VideoGame/SouthParkTheStickOfTruth'' is [[ProductPlacement available for [=PlayStation=] 4 and Xbox One,]] but not the Wii U.[[note]]It would later be available on the Nintendo Switch however, alongside ''The Fractured but Whole.''[[/note]]
* While Scott is a dick, why does he harass the boys for being American in "It's Christmas in Canada" and claim their country polices the world? He's resentful about [[WesternAnimation/SouthParkBiggerLongerAndUncut them starting a war with Canada.]]
* "Quintuplets 2000" shows the boys preparing their own version of Cirque de Soleil. It fails in the end, but future episodes such as ''Fingerbang'' and ''Helen Keller: The Musical'' show that they never let the dream die and have been putting their skills to good use on other projects.
** In fact, just about every episode post-2000 has the boys coming up with grander plans compared to the usual kid-level antics from the early seasons. That one episode must have been all it took to give them direction in life.
* In "The Entity," Bill Gates is one of the potential investors for Mr. Garrison's product. Look closely at his face; there's a band aid on his forehead. Looks like he survived getting shot in the head in the movie.
* In the beginning of the episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die", it's established that Scott Tenorman is a 9th-grader. But later, Kyle says he's an 8th-grader. This seems like a continuity error, but it makes perfect sense: the kids are 4th-graders, so they probably rarely interact with 8th-graders and 9th-graders, so it would make them more likely to forget what grade Scott is in.
* In "Chinpokomon", the ad executives try to get the boys to like new toys by making commercials that ''directly emulate'' the original Chinpokomon ad. On a second listen, the "Wild Wacky Action Bike" ad has a very similar chorus to the one for Chinpokomon, only it's "You can't ride it, you can't ride it, Wild Wacky Action Bike!" instead of "I gotta buy 'em, I gotta buy 'em, Chinpokomon!".
* The PC Frat House from ''Stunning and Brave'' looks hypocritical for having only white guys as members, but since there's only one black family in all of South Park (Token's) and all the women are above these antics, they can't hope to create a diverse environment.
** In fact, previous episodes have shown that the local minorities don't want to be put on pedestals and defended from bigotry.
** And it mirrors the fact that a lot of the overzealous and simplistic PC crusading comes from straight white dudes talking to other straight white dudes about marginalization without fully understanding or even listening to the people they claim to defend. One could imagine that, from the latter's perspective, it looks exactly like a bunch of shallow bros acting self-righteous.
* Cartman digesting Butters' semen in "Sarcastaball" and eating a burrito with some "special sour cream" in "You're Not Yelping" are both LaserGuidedKarma for selling "Ass Burgers", and to a lesser extent "Mr. and Mrs. Tenorman Chili".
* "Cow Days" reveals a key reason why Cartman would want to hang out in the same gang as Kyle: He sucks at math and isn't afraid to admit it. Given that he believes that all Jews are stereotypes, he assumes that Kyle would be useful in any financial situation. This pays off in "Crack Baby Athletic Association". "Red Sleigh Down" had Cartman seek out the other Kyle's help, presumably because his own Kyle would definitely not care if Cartman got nothing for Christmas.
* Why is PC Principal's name so meaningful? He lives by his principles!
* In "Truth and Advertising", we see the Ads reward Nathan with what he "wants" when a porn or dating webpage that upon close inspection appears to feature black female escorts, appears on his computer monitor. In the next episode, "PC Principal Final Justice", Nathan has purchased the services of Cl'assi, a "high class" black prostitute. In addition to being an [[EasterEgg subtle]] ContinuityNod, it show us how the ads are directly corrupting people, as opposed to simply manipulating them.
* Mr. Garrison's hatred of Canadian immigrants makes more sense when you remember that he was killed by Canadians [[WesternAnimation/SouthParkBiggerLongerAndUncut during the events of the movie]].
* In the "Coon Trilogy" we saw Cartman use Cthulhu to fulfill his KnightTemplar like ideas of making the world a better place was including destroying all Whole-Foods Markets, Cartman was presented as the villain of this episode but [[TheExtremistWasRight he was right]] as revealed at the end of season 19 Whole Foods is a sentient being that [[GreaterScopeVillain was responsible for everything that happened that season]] Cartman may have saved countless people from evil ads like Leslie.
** Also for the matter of what Whole Foods really is remember in "Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes" when Stan and Kyle met the human personification of UsefulNotes/WallMart he said that hes not just Wall-Mart but he also works through other big named brands like Target, Whole-Foods Market is his newest incarnation it can't use Cartman as a pawn anymore because its selling health food but it remembered how weak-willed Randy is the reason it disappeared when Randy told it to was because they knew how to kill it.
* As we've discussed, Cartman seemed to go through a sociopathic phase, to the point where he's (in)famous for it. And, also mentioned previously, "Tsst" implies he was controlled by a demonic force. May seem a bit out-of-nowhere ... But look back earlier into the series history. Like '''''way''''' back. One may recall the episode "Damien", where the titular new kid is the son of Satan, thus making him a demon. "Damien" is the only time Damien actually makes an appearance ... So where did he go? It's mostly just a personal theory, but what if Damien got bored one day and ''possessed Cartman without his awareness?'' Basically, he just remained dormant in Cartman's mind before deciding to make him do things Cartman hadn't considered before.
* Back in the day, ''South Park'' was a show that was made only to be offensive, until later shifting to its more satirical format. Except, in a sense, the earlier episodes ''were'' satirical. They satirized the way adults and the media view and portray children, specifically by subverting ChildrenAreInnocent.
* The Wormhole in [[spoiler:Creator/NataliePortman's vagina]] from "A History Channel Thanksgiving" could explain how the Visitors are still making appearances after [[spoiler:the Earth was sealed off.]]
* Season 20's anti-trolling plot is a reboot of TheMovie. e.g. One of Kyle's parents is TheHeavy, a war breaks out because some crude humor leads to somebody's death, Stan and Wendy's relationship faces a setback, the boys form a protest group and a gay villain is revealed to be under the influence of a much more sinister force.
** And Butters is basically the [[spoiler:Gregory of the relationship between Cartman and Heidi]]. Not to mention, Cartman suffers from the effects of the parents in both cases, [[spoiler:be it a V-Chip or having his electronics destroyed.]]
** There's another layer to this 'Member in "Canada on Strike" when the danish appeared looking like a hybrid of the Americans and Canadians (floppy heads but no beady eyes) they said they were gonna replace the Canadians because they were the Canada of Europe, it seems like Matt and Trey didn't 'member this but in the movie, they said that the American-Canadian war was turning into WorldWarIII, but [[InformedAttribute we never saw anyone other than those two countries fighting]], this time we're seeing how the war is affecting other countries meaning that Denmark isn't jut a PoorMansSubstitute for Canada they achieved what they couldn't.
*** Also despite the Danish in "Canada on Strike" having floppy heads but no beady eyes, this might have been retconned for spoiler reasons in the 20th season ... Lennart Bedrager is one of those "Danes" however ... the horrible truth is this had to be retconned because ... [[spoiler: he's not even Danish! Even his ''last name'' is Danish for "Imposter"]]!
* Whenever [=DildoSchwaggins=] addresses Gerald in Season 20, he calls him by his screen name, [=skankhunt42=], even immediately after Gerald asks him to stop. He's trolling him as LaserGuidedKarma!
* Tweek is shown to have the next-smallest penis of all the boys after Cartman in "T. M. I.", even after the scale is adjusted, but doesn't appear in anger management nor does he seem particularly angry. Of course, everybody in anger management has a small penis, but that doesn't mean everyone with a small penis has anger issues.
** To be more precise in Tweek's case, he's a nervous wreck, but doesn't have a big ego unlike Cartman or Randy, so not being remarkable doesn't affect him (as much). Also, he doesn't care about having a sex life and considering his AbusiveParents and the gnomes stealing his underwear, hw has more important stuff to worry about than penis size.
* Towelie's character concept is a little less random when you recall the common stoner practice of [[http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Towel%20the%20Door stuffing towels under the door]] to keep any incriminating smells from escaping the room.
* The "The Three Murderers" subplot in "Hell on Earth 2006" and how each killer acts makes perfect sense; Ted Bundy is the only one who doesn't kill anyone on impulse, which is ShownTheirWork on how each killer proceeded with their crimes in real life. Compared to Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy, Bundy was a lot more organised, intelligent, cautious and highly manipulative (which is how he constantly got away with so many crimes), plus that he only killed women. Dahmer and Gacy were homosexual killers with less precaution in their crimes; note that the only victims killed in the episode were male, so it would make sense for them to attack them.
* Everybody goes to Hell when they die except for Mormons at first seems like just Matt and Trey being irreverent for the sake of comedy. Then one watches episodes like "Night of the Living Homeless" and "Britney's New Look" and realizes that the characters [[HumansAreBastards all deserve it]].
* In "Death", ''The Terrence & Phillip Show'' airs at 8:00 p.m. on Cartoon Central. This particular time may have been chosen due to ''South Park'' having a 10:00 p.m. Eastern time slot on Comedy Central, a time where many children are expected to be put to bed. The show takes place in Colorado which is entirely in the Mountain Time Zone, two hours behind the Eastern Time Zone. Due to the time difference, it's easy to see why South Park's kids are hooked on ''Terrence & Phillip''.
* Satan is portrayed as CampGay because homosexuality is considered a sin in the major religions.
* A lot of people find it bizarre that Cartman doesn't care about [[spoiler: getting his own father killed ... but it's not like his father was there for him or supported him. He just left his kid with a single mother; why would he care about somebody who wasn't giving him what he wants? As far as he's concerned, having the ginger gene is more important to him because he never cared about somebody who ditched him in the first place! The other boys, who had much closer attachments to their fathers at the time, could never understand not caring about them.]]
* Having Strong Woman be far more even-tempered than [=PC=] Principal makes a lot of sense when you consider how much of [=PC=] Principal's character falls under the definition of Toxic Masculinity. As a feminist, she'd want to prove her strength through non-aggressive means.
* Despite [[VideoGame/SouthParkTheStickofTruth Stick of Truth]] and [[VideoGame/SouthParkTheFracturedButWhole Fractured But Whole]] being confirmed as canon to the show, there have so far not been any episodes where the kids of South Park resort to calling the New Kid over to help solve certain situations. But there are some legit explanations for why they might consider that option;
** First off, since the New Kid's appearance is player-customized, we have no canon default appearance to identify them with. So as far as we know, they could be any of the kids seen in the background or may have been at a different place whenever certain events in the show have transpired, they may even have already fallen victim to some of the events of certain episodes off-screen (like being kidnapped and later being rescued from the Witch in "Sons of Witches" for example).
** Also, most of the New Kid's solutions to problems have involved combat, and certain episodes have problems where resorting to violence can cause more problems than it would solve. And even putting that aside, the New Kid's ability to fight has always been largely dependent on the rules of what game they're playing, and suddenly throwing the New Kid into a fight when they're not part of a game could leave them confused and unsure of how to act.
* In "Royal Pudding," the Princess of Canada turns out to have been kidnapped by [[spoiler:the Tooth Decay monster]] because she [[spoiler:doesn't brush or floss.]] The episode is also an obvious parody of the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in England. [[spoiler:BritishTeeth]], anyone?
* Pip reveals in "Damien" that his actual name is Phillip, which his classmates refuse to call him. Given that the children -in particular the boys- adore the Terrance and Phillip show and idolize the two of them, of "course" they wouldn’t want to insult one of their heroes by referring to such a “Melvin” like Pip as the same name.
* Kyle's joy in "Cartman Finds Love" when he thinks the girls are romantically interested in him (despite him showing the least amount of interest in the opposite sex out of the Boys) makes more sense when one remembers "The List", where Kyle became immensely insecure about his appearance when he thought the girls ranked him the ugliest boy in school. For him, thinking the girls thought he was attractive would've been a particular boost to his self-confidence.
* How did Heidi lose all that fat she had gained by Season 21? She could have gone back to her vegan diet after finally realizing that Cartman had tricked her into eating meat. She could have also committed herself to daily exercises, making an effort to lose that weight. Moreover, her father is shown to be very muscular, so it may be possible that he helped her get back to top shape.
* In "Bike Parade", in the four-way bike, the Philippines' flag has the red above the blue. Normally, this only occurs when the country is at war, but it was stated later that it's Kenny's bike that has the flag. Kenny is in conflict towards joining the parade.
* The "SP and Me" promotional campaign feels a bit random, until you make the connection that they're parodying ''23 and Me'' for the ''23rd season.''
* Season 22 had the advertising campaign with the hashtag #cancelsouthpark. While this was obviously done as a parody of cancel culture, it's funny when you see that season 23 has the Tegridy Farms intro.
* "Red Hot Catholic Love" involves Father Maxi going all the way to the Vatican to directly discuss the problem of child molestation by Catholic priests, and is a bit surprised to see that a bunch of aliens called Gelgameks are part of the Church and participating in the debate. He really shouldn't be, though--there's a genuine policy by the Catholic Church that, should aliens actually exist, then they qualify for eternal salvation just like humans.
* It makes sense that Kyle would be cosplaying Thor in "A Nightmare on Face Time" when you remember how Thor is actually a redhead like Kyle in the original Norse mythology.
* Why is Stan usually the leader of the group? We are going to look at WatsonianVersusDoylist. InUniverse, Stan is the oldest of the boys. Granted, not by much, but the other boys might still feel that this gives him some authority and maturity. After all, the sixth graders are a threat to fourth graders. It's also possible that Stan himself believes that him being the oldest makes him the most responsible of the group. Of course, it's not just the age, Stan is WiseBeyondHisYears. So is Kyle, but while Kyle is more book smart and quite impulsive, Stan is rather [[TheSocialExpert emotionally smart]] and better at controlling his temper. Also, good leaders don't just give orders, they treat their followers with respect and are willing to listen to suggestions. He's kind (for the most part) towards Kyle and Kenny, and while he doesn't like Cartman, he goes along better with him than Kyle or even Kenny do. When the boys have a plan, they usually work as a team to make the plan, it's just that Stan has a good understanding of his friends' capabilities, thus he (usually) knows which tasks fit them best. He also knows how to motivate them to do certain things. Trey Parker, on which Stan is mostly based, is the leader of the production team (excluding the influence that the executives from Comedy Central have), so it makes sense that he would also make Stan the leader.
* Why does Cartman respect Stan much more than Kyle? Obviously because Stan doesn't belong to a group that Cartman hates, but not only doesn't Cartman pick up on Stan as much as on Kyle, but Stan is somehow a MoralityPet for Cartman and this is saying something. Simply not belonging to a group Cartman hates isn't enough to make you respect you this much. It's because Stan, while willing to stand his ground and even beat up Cartman in certain situations, is a lot less impulsive than Kyle and generally better with people. He managed to read Cartman enough in order to gain some respect from him.
* You know that usually when the main boys are riding a vehicle, Stan is at the wheel? That's because he's usually the leader, so he leads where they are going.
* In "Free Willzyx", it seems very stupid from the boys to believe the whale was really talking and coming from the moon, but considering the weirdness happening on a daily basis, like TalkingPoo and having multiple religious figures as superheroes, it's actually understandable they would believe the story about the whale.
* "Go God Go XII":
** The otters insist that the atheists should call themselves the Allied Atheist Alliance because "it has three As", suggesting they place a great deal of importance on AddedAlliterativeAppeal. What animals do the otters use as steeds? Ostriches!
** The various atheist factions, despite rejecting religion, behave like a fanatical cult in many ways.
*** Killing over what to call their society mirrors how religious factions have fought over the most basic scripture.
*** At one point, Cartman uses the time-traveling phone to call Garrison, the person who created the new world, to ask him what they should call an atheist society. Surely enough, this resembles a religious society asking their prophet about how to live life.
* In "Raisins", Stan tries to win Wendy back by playing Music/PeterGabriel outside her window a la ''Film/SayAnything''. However, instead of playing "In Your Eyes", Stan plays "Shock the Monkey" to Wendy and by extension [[OnTheRebound Token]]. While the humor comes from the [[InnocentlyInsensitive accidental racism and unromantic nature]] of the choice, "Monkey" is also about how jealousy can release one's basic instincts, such as Stan's last-ditch effort to salvage his relationship with Wendy and his PassiveAggressiveKombat towards them by the end of the episode.
* In The Post Covid Special Kenny dies and stays dead despite the plot carrying over a number of days. While this can be attributed to the same continuity shrug as the season where Kenny died 'permanently', it could also be because his mother is too old to continue giving birth to him.
* Kenny's defining feature (beyond his immortality power) is the fact that he [[InTheHood never takes his hood off]]. While he never explains why he's constantly wearing his parka, it's possible that there's a very simple reason: he's always cold. Now, it's definitely cold in South Park (hence why everyone wears winter clothing all the time), but Kenny is the only one who covers his whole body. So why does he feel the temperature more than other kids? Well, one of the classic signs of malnutrition and not eating enough is poor blood circulation, because the body has to focus its energy on digesting what little food it has; hence, malnourished people tend to have cold limbs and heads ... which are covered by Kenny's parka. And why is Kenny malnourished? ''He's the poorest kid in South Park!'' His parents can't afford proper meals for their children, so Kenny never gets enough to eat--and is thus always chilly.
* Shelley hates weed with a passion. This isn't totally out of the blue - she often demonstrates her low tolerance for Randy's hypocrisy and brainless schemes, and moving out of town because of her vaping just to open a weed farm is exactly this.
* Leslie always pops up unexpectedly because PC Principle interrupts whatever is going on to yell at her annoying behavior. She is an ad, so all of this makes sense.
* In season 18, Cartman wonders out loud why Lady Gaga is singing christmas songs as a jew. Lady Gaga isn't jewish, but Cartman believes everybody in the entertainment industry is.
* Pip was hated by not only the characters within the show itself, but by Creator/TreyParkerAndMattStone themselves, so they got rid of him. Well, when you eat a fruit, like an apple or orange, what's the part that you don't eat and instead throw away? The pips (seeds)!
* Kenny and Butters being best friends in "Going Natives" seems like an intentionally PlayedForLaughs AssPull due to their lack of interaction and Kenny's limited screen time. But when you think about the screen time Kenny has got, he and Butters are actually very similar characters. They're both incredibly selfless and compassionate kids who are [[ThePollyanna usually cheerful]] despite their [[ButtMonkey difficult circumstances]], they both have to deal with fathers with HairTriggerTemper's, constant mockery from Cartman and [[WithFriendsLikeThese and being patronised and ignored by their other friends]], and they're both [[TheAntiNihilist much smarter]] [[BewareTheNiceOnes and]] [[BewareTheQuietOnes stronger]] than they seem. The only difference between the two is Butters [[KiddieKid acts more naive]] while Kenny acts [[DirtyKid a bit too grown up for his age]] effectively making him a CoolBigBro.
* Making the cult that Chef was brainwashed into joining in "The Return of Chef" specifically a cult of child molesters probably stemmed naturally from using ManipulativeEditing for all his lines in the episode: Chef has a VerbalTic of referring to the kids collectively as "children", he ReallyGetsAround, and an early running gag had him frequently [[ThatRemindsMeOfASong breaking into songs]] that inevitably turn sexual - so it's pretty easy to edit dialogue from a character who's always talking about sex or children to to make it seem like he's talking about sex ''with'' children.
* In "The Jeffersons" Kenny tells Stan they owe him for going along with their plan, to which Stan responds, that at least now Kenny is finally doing something. Sometimes Kenny [[TheSLacker slack around while the other boys solve the problem]], so Stan does have a valid point.
* in "Simpsons Already Did It", the reason why Cartman and Tweak were seen as the gods of the Sea People could be because, they were the ones, who dropped the packages of sea people in the water, with Cartman dropping the first package in the small tank and Tweek being the one who dropped the second package in the larger tank.
* Cartman seems to care more about Kenny than about Stan and Kyle. Of course, Cartman isn't above mocking or exploiting Kenny, but you get the point. In earlier seasons Kenny would often join Cartman's schemes and he sometimes does this in newer seasons as well, while Stan and Kyle are less likely to do so. Furthemore, both Cartman and Kenny have a similar sense of humor and are generally less mature than Stan and Kyle. Cartman likes people that resemble him.
* Stan deleted his Facebook account yet he willingly uses a twitter account. He stated he hates Facebook, because it uses the term friends for followers, meaning that it encourages people to get friends for status. meanwhile Twitter uses the word followers, so maybe Stan prefers Twitter because [[AtLeastIAdmitIt they are at least honest about their platform]].
[[/folder]]

!!FridgeHorror:
[[folder:Unsorted]]
* While Cartman almost always proves somewhat immoral and sociopathic behavior, it's somewhat frightening if you think about what he will be like when he grows up. If he has done one of the most sadistic and cruel acts in a TV series ever done (but played for laughs), as shown in "Scott Tenorman Must Die", as a child, imagine how inhumane he could be as an adult.
** However he's shown to grow up to be more or less a stable adult, as seen on "My Future Self and Me" (at least until Cartman binges on doughnuts and turns his slim future self into a fat wreck).
*** Which gives the other question about it- where Cartman willingly made himself a wreck from that point, and went further down the rabbit hole- you get the realization: Cartman's made the conscious choice to do all of these atrocities, solely to screw over his future self.
*** On that subject, who's to say the first version of "Future Cartman" is really all that "stable"? He could still be the same manipulative, sociopathic megalomaniac he was as a child, but as he matured he learned to hide it better (ala Hannibal Lecter), and slimmed down for good measure ...
*** To be fair, Cartman was convinced that the 'future self' was simply another actor much like the one Stan had to deal with. It wasn't that he willingly made himself a wreck to screw over the future self, he was more going 'You think I'm gonna fall for what failed earlier? [[PrecisionFStrike Fuck]] that.' His future self screwed things up by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
*** Also, Future Cartman isn’t canon.
*** Fortunately the Post-COVID special showed that he'll either reform and become a decent (if misguided) family man or a drunk bum. Far from the psychopathic mastermind his childhood self aspired to be.
* The ending of Red Sleigh Down, where Santa brings Christmas to Iraq, a predominantly Muslim country. Because nothing says happiness like forcing your religious holidays on other cultures. By bombing them with it, no less.
** Keep in mind that they shocked Santa's balls.
** And plenty of episodes after this showed that radical Muslims are still engaging in acts of terror against both the West and their own people. Who's to say the interventions of Santa, Jesus and the boys didn't spur them on?
* After Chef was reconstructed into Darth Chef, everyone expected his return. But he never came back. What does that mean? The rebuilt remains of Chef, our beloved Chef, is still with the Super Adventure Club raping little boys.
** Or, if ''The Stick of Truth'' is canon, [[spoiler:ressurected as a Nazi Zombie by Clyde.]] For what it's worth, he at least got his face back.
* Several characters on the show have [[DirtyKid had some form of sexual experience well before any of them even hit puberty]]. Kenny got a blowjob from his fifth grade girlfriend (which resulted in his [[TheyKilledKennyAgain death by Syphilis]]), Ike and Jimmy have both had consensual sex (Ike with his teacher and Jimmy with a prostitute). Remember the age of consent in America is (usually) 16. Ike was only a toddler.
* In "Fat Camp", Kenny proves that he is not above prostitution for ''very'' low prices. Consider that he always seems to have enough money to keep up with toy, electronic and clothing fashions. Consider that he is immortal. Consider the existence of snuff films.
** Debatable, as snuff films are the stuff of urban legend, often used as an example of how low entertainment can sink in terms of excessive sex and violence. And the kind of prostitution Kenny was into on "Fat Camp" (before he got busted for giving Howard Stern a hummer) is actually no different than the sick, disgusting acts that Tom Green and Johnny Knoxville were known for in the late 1990s into the early 2000s.
* "Mysterion Rises" reveals that Kenny not only remembers having died before, he had ''experienced'' all those deaths first-hand. Now, remember the ways he dies in early seasons: decapitated, burned alive, literally torn apart, electrocuted, crushed - the 9-year old kid had '''felt all that''' and somehow manage to retain his sanity. And the worst part? His friends never remember him dying, even though they saw it or in some cases ''have killed him themselves''. It is simply terrifying to think what the poor kid must feel.
** How is this ''Fridge'' Horror? Kenny very clearly elaborated on everything just mentioned onscreen.
** Think ''that's'' bad? It gets worse. Kenny is reborn through a [[spoiler: spontaneous childbirth through his mother whenever he dies, and his parents take the soon-to-be-completely-sentient Kenny to his bed, with a new parka.]] Alright. That's fine. But what happens after [[spoiler: ''she'']] dies? Will Kenny still be reborn when she's buried six-feet-under? [[NightmareFuel And if that happens forever-]][[AndIMustScream Oh god.]]
*** On a (possibly) lighter note, what would happen [[spoiler:if Kenny's mom is cremated]]?
*** Perhaps he only truly dies when he reaches old age.
*** Another episode showed him just appearing out of nowhere. All Stan says about this is [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight "Oh, hey Kenny."]]
*** It's a good thing that South Park's inhabitants [[NotAllowedToGrowUp do not age as a general rule]]. When they do, it takes several seasons for them to grow a year older (8 at the beginning, 9 at Season 4-5, and 10 at Season ''15''). Not to mention that Christmas has passed 7 times over the series, and they've only aged 2 years.
** With the revelation that Kenny is an immortal, the subplot of "Cartman Joins NAMBLA" becomes disturbing when you realize that Kenny was trying to murder his mom's unborn son (which turns out to be him) and Kenny's parents are aware that Kenny being reborn has happened to them at least 52 times.
*** And just like that, the context of the story suddenly is no longer about Kenny not wanting any siblings, but Kenny becoming aware of his upcoming imminent death AND attempting to commit suicide. What if Kenny succeeded? Is it possible that by killing his yet-to-be born self he may have stopped the cycle? Who knows ...
*** Kenny mentions that he remembers going to Heaven and Hell. But if Kenny remembers going to Heaven and Hell, then he knows that nearly everyone who dies goes to Hell. If so, by not telling anyone else this, isn't he technically guilty of treason?
*** In South Park, only Mormons go to Heaven because [[InfernalParadise only Mormons like it there]]. [[AHellOfATime Hell isn't actually bad, non-Mormons actually prefer it there]]. Besides, nobody would believe Kenny about that anyway.
*** Want some more Fridge Horror? We've seen a few of Kenny's funerals. If [[spoiler: everyone's memories are erased following his rebirths]], no one would remember they buried him. There are over a hundred graves in South Park that contain the same child's mutilated corpse.
* In "The [=HUMANCENTiPAD=]", Cartman goes on Dr. Phil and accuses his mom of "fucking" him by not buying an iPad or whatever else Cartman wants. While Cartman means it ''figuratively'', everyone else interprets it [[ParentalIncest differently]]. Cartman's mom is then confronted about not even kissing her son before she "fucks" him by a man in the audience ... who goes on to kiss his son twice.
** You think ''that's'' the only FridgeHorror to be found in ''Human Cent-iPad''? As we all know, this episode is a parody of ''Film/TheHumanCentipede''. In it, Creator/SteveJobs believes that by creating a Human Centipede with an Asian man in front, [[ChewToy Kyle]] in the middle, and a young woman in the bottom, they can power an iPad so that it has the capacity for apps that allow it to walk and read on its own. The FridgeHorror kicks in when the Human Cent-iPad is unveiled. No-one is appalled or disgusted at the fact that three people's lives are uprooted (one of which is a [[WouldHurtAChild little boy]]) just to give the iPad a completely unnecessary upgrade, they all just "ooh" and "aah" at it as if it were a normal "next big thing", so to speak. Even Kyle's dad, who subscribed to [[AppleComputer Apple]] in hopes of freeing Kyle, believes that the Human Cent-iPad truly is the device of the future [[note]]which leads to some ''more'' FridgeHorror when you consider how subscribing to [[AppleComputer Apple]] was depicted and how Gerald emerged for it a staunch [[AppleComputer Apple]] supporter[[/note]]. The only reason Kyle [[StatusQuoIsGod was saved]] was because Gerald delivered AnAesop about taking a break from creating the future to enjoy the present. What this means is that sometime in the future (possibly ignoring the FloatingTimeline), [[AppleComputer Apple]] will begin tricking people with an unreadably long product agreement into legally allowing them to uproot their lives in the manufacturing of Human Cent-iPads, and no-one (except possibly [[OnlySaneMan Stan and Kyle]]) will bat an eyelash that their shiny new gadget was once [[PoweredByAForsakenChild THREE PEOPLE with lives of their own]] [[AndIMustScream who now exist to convenience someone else in the most disgusting way possible]].
** What about the Human Centipede sequels where more people are added? As technology becomes more advanced, ''[[{{Squick}} that could happen too]]''.
* At the end of the "Imaginationland" trilogy, Imaginationland is finally nuked and Butters, the only survivor, imagines everything back. This can only mean that the Stan, Kyle, and Cartman we know today are just products of Butters' imagination, while the originals are dead! Even though they decided that imaginary beings are real, but that was more of a unanimous opinion than proven fact.
** Given what they [[CerebusRetcon did with Kenny]], it's not far off to see this played out in a future episode. Something akin to a ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' parody comes quickly to mind, since, like [[spoiler:Tidus]], they would be "made from dreams". No doubt such an episode would be [[{{Squick}} terrifying]] and [[TearJerker gut-wrenching]], with the three on the constant verge of [[NightmareFuel fading out of existence]] and Butters having to spend the rest of his life straining his brain just to keep his friends alive on top of [[TheWoobie everything else he has to deal with]].
** After the nuke, Cartman was able to imagine Kyle sucking his balls. It doesn't say if imaginary people can imagine. It was closer to turning back time.
*** Imaginary people ''can'' imagine (as evidenced by the Mayor conjuring up a balloon) but they can't do so on the scale of Butters, which is why they needed him. Cartman making an imaginary Cartman and Kyle doesn't exactly prove that he's "real", but it doesn't matter since Stan, Kyle and Cartman [[NegativeContinuity are identical to their originals in every way and the show is unlikely to ever address it]]. Plus imagining or unimagining things in and out of existence doesn't work in the real world, so there's no risk of them being undone by Butters or anyone else.
** Technically, the entire ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' universe is imaginary (since it's a fictional cartoon show), thus adding an extra dose of irony to the situation.
** There's no rule that says once the creator dies, then everything he/she imagined dies. At least one of those Imaginationland creatures had to have been created by someone who's dead now.
*** Like Gandalf.
** Speaking of Imaginationland, they planned to send a nuke into our imagination, and was only repaired because Butters had become TheChosenOne. If Butters wasn't there, best case scenario is that we'd forget every fictional character, story and setting ever thought up. Worst case scenario is that the entire human race ''would be stripped of the ability to imagine.''
* In the end of "Ass Burgers", it appears that everything is back to normal; Stan's parents are back together, Kyle and Cartman aren't friends, and Stan has gotten over being a cynical ass-hole ... by becoming an alcoholic. This has not been mentioned since, but given the show's nature, it is fair to say that Stan is probably still an alcoholic, still unable to deal with his cynicism. Think about it, every episode we've seen since "Ass Burger", Stan has been drunk. A little boy, to deal with the pressures of adulthood, is drunk almost every day of the week.
** Also, take these things into account: Alcoholism is Genetic, and it is something that affects a child's genes ... Randy likes beer ... Stan has been doing things you could see his dad do (A film/book to make him famous, or some kind of statement to make him a big deal) ... [[TurnOutLikeHisFather Could it Be?]]
*** As the Post-COVID special showed, the worst that happens to Stan is he becomes a bitter, lonely man rather than the loud destructive idiot Randy turned into.
* In "Insecurity," when all the husbands in South Park are concerned because they think the UPS man is sleeping with their wives, the old farmer man tells all the husbands that the milkman used to fuck all the women back then. The milkman was probably still around back when they were kids, meaning the milkman must have [[[{{Squick}} slept with their mothers!]].
** What's really worse is that, in "Insecurity", we all know that neither the UPS Man nor the Security Installer were having sex with anyone's wife. Who's to say the Milkman was actually having sex with anyone's wife either?
* In "Pinewood Derby," an alien named Babyfark [=McGeezax=] shows up and holds the entire planet hostage, killing someone on the far side of the world with his ray gun to demonstrate that he is serious. At the end of the episode, [[spoiler: the whole thing turns out to be a setup by the SpacePolice to see if the Earth is morally upright enough to join Galactic Society. So, wait. The SpacePolice ''killed an innocent person'' just to prove a point, and then they judge ''our'' morality? Maybe we're better off cordoned away from such a [[CrapsackWorld Crapsack Galaxy]].]]
** He didn't kill them, just stung them with a dart so they sat down. He did however blow up the Italian government building, which likely caused a lot of injuries and fatalities. [[spoiler: Add to that complicating the matter of just telling the police by holding a terrified Stan hostage, he was definitely taking the facade to extremes.]]
* Early on in the episode "Whale Whores" the Japanese slaughter the Miami Dolphins along with all of the actual dolphins and whales. Later on, they start slaughtering cows and chickens instead. What would happen if they ever find out about the south park school football team, the cows?
* In "Canada on Strike", various Internet celebrities violently kill each other in a huge melee. Even though we don't see all of them die, the boys are free to take the next spot in line when it's over. So ... ''what happened to the laughing baby?''
* "The Poor Kid" has a touching side plot with Kenny posing as Mysterion to act as his little sister, Karen's "guardian angel" whenever she's in trouble. She is relieved by this, however at the same time, since Kenny must change into Mysterion each time she realizes that Kenny is missing. In attempting to give her hope, Kenny also makes her believe her big brother is continuously abandoning her in her times of need.
** [[spoiler: This actually gets touched upon in the Casa Bonita DLC for the FBW. She admits to Mysterion that she hung out with the Vamp kids because she's lonely and wants someone to play with. She considers Kenny her best friend, but is often too busy to hang out with her. (Fortunately, he reassures that he'll play with her more.)]]
* "Butters' Bottom Bitch" has Butters become a pimp who sells girl's kisses to his male classmates. Then he expands and starts recruiting actual sex workers. It's mentioned that some of his clients are grown men who want ''a lot more'' than just a kiss. Now remember that he's still got 9-year-old girls working for him ...
** Hopefully nothing, as he categorized them to prevent such encounters (i.e he set up the girls at the school and the women on the streets).
* "Wacky Molestation Adventure" sees the kids all accuse their parents of sexually abusing them, then having their parents forcibly rehabilitated. When the parents all come back, ''they genuinely believe that they molested their children''. Now that all the parents are convinced that they're sick degenerates, what's to stop one, two or maybe all of them from having a relapse and ''actually molesting a child?''
* Apparently Mr. and Mrs. Stotch believe themselves to be good parents as implied in "City Sushi" but they are seemingly oblivious to the fact that their parenting and discipline methods come off as abuse. If all this is true then what kind of mindset in the name of parenting were they thinking selling their son to Paris Hilton for $250 Million? Another example of fridge horror to think of is not once did Social Services ever did anything about such abuse that if parents in real life have done, would've been taken away along time ago!
* In "A History Channel Thanksgiving" Miles Standish shows Kyle a map of the planets featuring Franchise/GreenLantern homeworld which according to Miles nobody really cares about. This may have been a throwaway joke but think about it Green Lantern rings are powered by the wearers will power and [[Characters/SouthParkEricCartman who]] in the ''South Park'' universe has [[{{Determinator}} the most will power.]]
* Principal Victoria all but states that the conflict between Wendy and Cartman in "Breast Cancer Show Ever" is a metaphor for, well, breast cancer. If so, [[LittlestCancerPatient what does that mean for Wendy?]]
* As of the Season 20 finale, The Member Berries are still out there ... that is all.
** Proven true in "Doubling Down".
* By "Moss Piglets", Heidi [[spoiler: is just like Cartman. Her gradual descent into being like him implies he wasn't always this bad, and something kept dragging him down. Meaning that whatever happened to him, nobody cares about, because even Kyle has lost faith in her. And her voice is reminiscent of his third-grade voice.]]
** More fun: [[spoiler: Heidi's not the only person with a relation to Cartman that's a lot like him at this point. How much of his extended family went through the same trials and tribulations as her?]]
** [[spoiler: She's lucky enough to have escaped from the situation before becoming a complete victim and reverted back to her old self by Season 22. The others ... weren't.]]
* Terrance and Philip, as opposed to the rest of the cast, have shown to be visibly aged (being old men, as opposed to being in their prime in earlier seasons). In TheMovie, it's pointed out that over half of Canada's economy is centered around them. Since Terrance and Philip are close to death, Canada is close to a terrible economic recession (if not collapse), and that's if they're able to get out of being nuked without becoming a ''Mad Max''-esque WretchedHive.
* [[spoiler: The Fact that Kyle knows that his father is [=Skankhunt42=] and that the gender war still continues in season 21 proves that Kyle is willing to allow the gender war to continue just to protect his father's ass. This will cause problems between Kyle and Stan or to a extent the other boys if word ever got out.]]
** Worse, if one take into consideration what may happen to him (and Ike) if he [[spoiler: reveals that his dad is [=Skankhunt42=]]] if his ''mother'' finds out. Remember how Sheila has been acting (read: [[spoiler: being more aggressive and hateful]]) towards him and Ike ...?
* Back in season 19, PC Principal once appeared alongside Leslie in an ad, and even though he is extremely confused about it and is their biggest enemy before the end of the season, it is never actually stated if the ad was a fake made to demoralize him or if he really was an ad who managed to defect to humanity’s side and forget about this. Now that he [[spoiler:has reproduced]] as of Season 22, one had better hope that the first of those interpretations is true ...
* "Tegridy Farms" has Cartman and Butters carry a hooker's corpse to frame the vape dealer. Did they just happen to find the dead body or did they kill the hooker themselves? It wouldn't be above Cartman to kill someone, but ''Butters'' having no problems being an accomplice to murder is very disturbing to think about.
* In "Time To Get Cereal", Heidi Turner is not seen amongst the crowd of kids in the playground evacuation witnessing one of [=ManBearPig's=] kills. Given the she hasn't been seen since "The Problem With A Poo", this leaves disturbing implications that [=ManBearPig=] killed her or she was killed in a school shooting.
** Thankfully, this theory becomes Jossed in season 22's finale where Heidi is seen alive and well participating in the Bike Parade with the rest of the kids.
* Before Season 19, Leslie Meyers made brief appearances in "Ginger Kids" and "The Cissy". Given the revelation that she was an ad, just what happened back then?
* The end of "The Ring" indicates that Tammy [[spoiler:gave Kenny syphilis, and caused his death.]] It's PlayedForLaughs, but consider that Tammy [[spoiler:at the very least carries the disease,]] and doesn't have Kenny's powers of regeneration, and a [[BusCrash dark theory]] forms as to why we haven't seen Tammy since her debut episode ...
* It’s insinuated that Butter’s grandmother behaved so sadistically towards him in an attempt to make him less of a “sissy,” and get him to fight back— act more “masculine,” that is to say. Butter’s father, Stephen, who is shown many times to be a DepravedHomosexual ArmoredClosetGay, is shown in one of the video games having a nightmare about his mother (Butter’s grandmother) abusing him. This could imply that Butter’s grandmother found out about or suspected Stephen’s homosexuality when he was a kid and bullied and abused him into suppressing it, and has taken Butter’s cheerfulness as an indication that he is also gay and is attempting to beat it out of him, too. It’s also worth noting that a lot of Stephen’s own abuse of Butters is rooted in an attempt to make Butters be or behave in a way deemed “normal” and socially acceptable.
* The 300th episode established that Cartman had never had a vaccine in his life, which proved troublesome as he was less-than-cautious when it came to spreading germs (sneezing into his hands and such). Upsetting enough on its own, the herd immunity logic presented in the episode at least lessens the possibility of any outbreak spurning because of him ... but then you remember a couple episodes earlier, Cartman was in a tight cold detention camp, interacting with many vulnerable children, who would likely not be vaccinated. Note that RealLife children in these camps [[https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/20/the-us-wont-vaccinate-migrant-children-against-the-flu-at-border-camps.html have died as a result of diseases from the flu,]] and who knows what Cartman could have picked up from the children trapped there, or vice versa?
* "Pandemic Special" establishes that Randy caught the novel coronavirus following the events of "Band In China." It's no wonder why it spread so quickly in that universe: during the period of time Randy was contagious, he was attending publicity events (such as his MilestoneCelebration parade in "Shots!!!") and handling a product that hundreds of people around the world put in their mouths.
* Taking the description of TheAntichrist's birth according to the (fictional in-universe, but still possibly true to life as of "Imaginationland") Woodland Christmas Critters makes Damien's existence more frightening. He's not a human child of Satan; his body is that of a real unbaptized child who was brutally killed and [[DemonicPossession possessed]] by the spirit of the Antichrist.
** The fact that we can't know for sure somehow makes it [[NothingIsScarier even scarier]].
* You know when characters underreact to dangerous or even supernatural events, but would overreact over small things. This isn't just RuleOfFunny. Some characters react that way because they're stupid and the more level-headed ones have SeenItAll considering the CrapsackWorld they live in, and don't get (too) affected by scary events and at the same time they are so attached to certain minor events, because those are some of the things that bring them pleasure, and they also feel more or less pressured by the majority to act the way that they do.
* In "Whale Whores", Kenny stated he doesn't care if dolphins and whales get killed by the Japanese. And he doesn't care at all if they die? He's not a sociopath. But here's the thing, he always dies and comes back to life, this very liekly influenced him to not care about the dolphins and whales. Luckily, as seen in "Cock Magic", Kenny started to care more for animal rights.
* In "Stanley's Cup", Stan recruits Ike for his hockey team. Kyle is hesitant, because Shelia is worried that Ike will get injured, but Stan assures him Ike will be safe. During the final game, Ike is one of the team members who is brutally beaten. It's very likely that Shelia won't take this well when Kyle and Stan return; she may have even seen it on the TV broadcast.
* In "Board Girls" absolutely nobody is willing to bring up the fact that Heather Swanson is faking transgenderism. Remember how in "Ginger Kids" a minority group were treated like outcasts before finding themselves allied with the very person who put that stigma on them. Who's to say the same won't happen for the trans community?
** Sure, there is a lot of idiocy in this show, but unless someone started a hate campaign against transgenders, I don't think transgenders would've turned agains society en mass because of this. Considering that Cartman out of all people got along with Heather, it is safe to assume at least he didn't start a hate campaign against transgenders as he did against gingers.
* The fact that Randy set up Tegridy Farms, a marijuana farm, and gets Stan (and Sharon and Shelley) to help him out in running the business becomes ''very'' concerning once you remember that "Sexual Harassment Panda" revealed that Stan suffers from asthma. And cigarette smoke causes asthma attacks[[note]]Contrary to some online sources, there isn't enough tangible evidence to suggest marijuana can actually ''cure'' asthma.[[/note]]. Maybe Stan's not only angry at his dad for making the family live in an isolated part of the town and work in a dead-end job, but also because his physical health is literally being put at risk.
** Considering the fact that Stan having asthma was never even hinted after "Sexual Harassment Panda", so it could be that him having asthma was retconned or he somehow got cured.
* Could Butter's fragile and extremely naive nature be the result of his abusive childhood? Since he rarely stands up to his parents it seems this is the reason he generally doesn't stand up to himself. Furthermore, his parents would ground him over the slightest mistake or even perceived mistakes, this probably messed up his ability to think for himself.
[[/folder]]

!!FridgeLogic:
[[folder:Unsorted]]
* Speaking of imaginary characters, Freddy Krueger is an evil imaginary character in the ''Imaginationland'' trilogy, but he is shown as a real person, complete with wife and kids, in "[[Recap/SouthParkS14E10Insheeption Insheeption]]". Obviously the people remember the stories of Freddy's murders of the children and have imagined him as some horrible monster when he was, in reality, a kind family man who was made to do that by the government. So there's two Freddy Krueger's out there and both can murder you. Sleep tight!
* The disclaimer for the "Alabama Man" [[ShowWithinAShow ad]] in the Season 3 episode "Chinpokomon" has a disclaimer saying [[subscript:"Not all people from Alabama are [[DomesticAbuse wife-beaters]]."]] Notice that they said "not all ''people''." Thus, you could say that '''49%''' of '''people''' from Alabama are wife-beaters and still play the {{stereotype}} completely straight.[[note]]In case you didn't get it, it means all ''men'' from Alabama are wife-beaters, since the term "people" includes both genders and 49% of all people are male.[[/note]]
* "[=HumancentiPad=]" features a bizarre case: At the beginning of the episode, several students have their very own iPads. Strange because South Park has a rather high population of families that need welfare (the iPads are shown in the episode to cost about $1000), and it was mentioned not too long ago that the economy is in poor condition.
* In "Butt Out", Cartman considers Rob Reiner a hero because of his tactics to manipulate people. Rob Reiner is Jewish so why didn't this bother Cartman? Even Hitler (who Cartman dressed as for Halloween in the Season One episode "Pinkeye") had Jews he admired, mostly entertainers, though he expressed regret that they weren't Aryan.
* In "Towelie", Towelie fiddles with a security keypad until he finally gets ... the riff from "Funky Town". This is so funny, it may be some time before you wonder why (other than RuleOfFunny) a security pad would have different tones for each key. [[DontExplainTheJoke The pin number can only be entered by playing a song with the keys in order]].
