* According to their Super Sentai's counterpart character page, Theo's counterpart's actor had a twin who showed up in an episode as his evil twin and R.J.'s counterpart was his in-show brother. Suddenly Lewin makes so much more sense...
* When ''Series/PowerRangersJungleFury'' aired, a lot of people considered Red Ranger Casey {{the Scrappy}}, mostly due to his constant {{wangst}}ing about being a rookie who gets everything later than his more experienced teammates. Then it hit me: Casey is a deconstruction of the RookieRedRanger trope as, unlike past Rookie Reds who {{jumped at the call}} and quickly adjusted to their roles, Casey showed to have actual concerns about his own progress (not being able to catch up, being the last to find a master, etc.) And by the finale, he's finally got his act together and is now a Martial Arts instructor! Bruce Kalish may get a lot of flack, but you have to give it up to him for this one.
* Master Mao's spirit is of a cat. All four of his students' spirits are also all based on cats: Casey the Tiger, Theo the Jaguar, Lily the Cheetah and Jarrod the Lion.
* R.J.'s Wolf Spirit can create a duplicated version of Tiger and Jaguar Spirit to combine into Wolf Pride Megazord. R.J.'s color is purple. Purple = Red (Tiger) + Blue (Jaguar). This might also be a matter of Student teaches Master similar to how the three learn how to acquire the other spirits and zords of their respective masters, he probably learned how to channel their animal spirits too.
* While a carryover from Sentai, this can be applied to both versions. Jarrod’s spirit is a lion, which has always been associated with Red Rangers, serving as yet another symbol of how he and Casey are foils. The last time a tiger was represented on the team, they fought as a follower while the lion served as leader.
* Camille's eventually HeelFaceTurn make sense when you realize that she's been away for Dai Shi's influence for 10,000 years. She may have had a lot to time to reevaluate her life of servitude and probably considered leaving the palace until she sensed her master's return. But seeing Dai Shi in a handsome human body made her to be in his good grace which eventually formed into love.
* A running gag in the series is RJ’s chair and how no one else is allowed in it, he only allowed Casey to do so once when he was badly injured. In other words, he’s territorial about it. What else is known to be territorial? Wolves. Could this RunningGag have been written as foreshadowing RJ becoming the Wolf Ranger?
* Casey's mentor was Master Finn, bearer of the Shark Animal Spirit. Casey was the Red Tiger Ranger. With Master Finn's training and bestowing of the Shark Sabers, Casey was now a [[{{Pun}} tiger shark]].
* The master's test isn't just a sparring session to see if the main trio are ready to promote to master, it's also a way to judge their character by the way they fight. They are trying to see if the lessons they learned not just stick, but if they improved on it to be a leader in their own right and in their own way.
** Starting with the obvious, Master Finn fails Casey despite defeating him. He already knew Casey wasn't confident coming into the test, Casey outright says it, but he also wasn't really following his own conviction. During the test he wasn't focused, he had looked away from his opponent to get some kind of inspiration from Theo and Lily. He didn't get inspiration from them instinctively by incorporating what he knew about their styles, something a leader would know just by spending time with them, he took his eyes away from his goal just to see works. To quote RJ, "a leader cannot be a follower", but he didn't believe in hiself, he hesitated, and ultimately just went through the paces. He only heard the words "defeat your master" and that was it.
*** That being said, this was probably never meant to be his Master Test in the first place. Rather Casey's destiny was always to save Jarrod from Dai Shi. Being a master, Master Finn probably already knew this and had to fail him from the start as Casey can't save Jarrod as a master, but rather as the cub who stood up to him from the start of the season. Thus Casey ended up being tested by Master Mao. Compare his hesitation during the Master Test as opposed to Master Mao's last attempt to stop Casey from storming Dai Shi's temple potentially getting himself destroyed. Mao hits him with escalating questions that Jarrod cannot be saved, but Casey held firm, his responses are sharp and to the point, and even when Mao spun the question asking if he's there to really save Jarrod or redeem himself, Casey knew is was partially to redeem himself, but redemption or not, he needed to save Jarrod. From there, Master Mao knew that Casey was truly fit to become a Master.
** Master Swoop already knew Theo had it in him to be a master but Theo, as discussed in his debut episode, tends to overthink and overestimate his abilities. Once Swoop taught Theo how to focus himself, Theo just needed to apply himself to his lessons. Defeating Swoop also demonstrated this as if Theo wasn't in the same mindset, he wouldn't be focused on trying to defeat Swoop, instead he'd be thinking about some complex strategy to defeat swoop like sneaking up on him, something RJ actually demonstrated to Casey and Lily early in the series.
** Master Phant also knew from experience that Lily would be a great master. His debut episode sees Lily persistent about having Phant teach her the Jungle Mace. But not just that, being the heart of the team, she's also kind and patient as demonstrated when she was teaching Phant's niece. Her test, while not as complex as the other two, is to see if she's still that same persistant but kind girl that he saw before as he knows that battle can wear down even the most wide-eyed and gentle soul.
* The Spirit Rangers have white accents on their suits in base form. This is because they are the ranger forms of masters, which also explains why Jungle Master Mode has white accents but only as an upgrade.
