Fagin provides shelter as long as the boys work, but is constantly hounded by Bill Sikes for the money the boys bring in. Sikes' pregnant girlfriend, Nancy (Michèle-Barbara Pelletier), works as a waitress in a cafe and is sympathetic toward the boys.
