->''Now 7 years later, Donnie's youngest sister, Samantha, seemingly alone and lost in the world, has run away from her home shattered by the death of her brother. Drowning in sadness and unable to dream, she has drifted deeper into the darkness of her sleep. And when darkness consumes the starlight, nightmares rule the night...''

Samantha "Sam" Darko (Creator/DaveighChase) and Corey Corn (Creator/BrianaEvigan) are two eighteen-year-olds on a road trip to California hoping to make it big as dancers there. Along the way, their car breaks down in Conejo Springs, a small town in Utah. [[AllGirlsWantBadBoys The town badass]], Randy Holt (Creator/EdWestwick), comes to their rescue, [[SmokingIsCool cigarette]] in hand.

As they end up staying for a while they meet a [[{{Expy}} Donnie look-a-like]] running amok in military clothes, a nerdy kid with a rash, a BadassPreacher and experience many a weird going-on.

The 2009 sequel to ''Film/DonnieDarko''.

----
!!This film provides examples of:
* BilingualBonus: Conejo Springs gets its name from the Spanish word for "rabbit" or "bunny".
* ContinuityNod: At the party scene, there is a girl in a white bikini who drapes herself in an American flag. In the original ''Donnie Darko'', Donnie had a poster with a white swimsuit model backgrounded by an American flag.
%%* DecoyProtagonist: DoubleSubverted.
%%* DefrostingIceQueen: Corey calls Sam one at one point.
* KarmaHoudini: The person killing the children, [[spoiler:implied to be Trudy]], never gets caught on-screen and does not seem to suffer any consequences for the deaths.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Jeremy's bizarre physical symptoms and personality change night be the result of delirium and radiation poisoning from the meteor...or he might be influenced by some otherworldly force.
* MindScrew: Intended, at least. Unfortunately, so much weird shit happens in this movie that in the end, you just stop thinking about it.
%%* NerdGlasses: Jeremy sports them (up until the end, when his SanitySlippage is in full force).
* NeverSpeakIllOfTheDead: In the original timeline, the townsfolk are dismissive of [[spoiler:Iraq Jack]] but when he goes back and is killed by [[spoiler:the meteorite]], they become quite upset.
* PimpedOutDress: The gold and white thrift store dress that Samantha wears in the "future visions", and later for real in the film's final act (as per taking on her role as the "princess"). It was actually a [[https://pin.it/3rx9sUA couture design]] by Elsie Katz, and consisted of over 300 individual silk circles.
* {{Retcon}}: Many things mentioned in S.Darko, such as their family still living in Virginia contradicts the WordOfGod from the first movie. Samantha also somehow got Donnie's copy of "The Philosophy of Time Travel", complete with Frank drawings by Donnie, even though he only got a copy of the book in the tangent universe in the original.
* SanitySlippage: Jeremy starts out a nervous geek. After he acquires a piece of the meteor, however, he becomes more aggressive (to the point of being almost feral) and manic, culminating in him attacking [[spoiler: (and accidentally killing)]] Samantha on their date.
%%* SceneryPorn: Really good scenery porn at that!
* ShellShockedVeteran: Iraq Jack. He claims to have done some [[KickTheDog bad things]] during the UsefulNotes/GulfWar, but nobody seems to take him seriously.
%%* StalkerWithACrush [[spoiler:Jeremy.]]
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: It seems as though all of the male leads were chosen for looking like Donnie Darko.
* TelevisionPortal: At night, the dead version of Samantha reaches through a TV screen and pulls out a glowing feather.
* TrailersAlwaysLie: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJfGNUk4Jx4 An early trailer for the movie]] made it appear as if it would take place during the events of ''Donnie Darko'', only from Samantha's [[POVSequel perspective]]. Doubles as WhatCouldHaveBeen.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: We never find out if [[spoiler: Billy is ever rescued from the abandoned mine or found]].
%%* WildTeenParty:
