''Evilspeak'' is a horror movie from the year 1981.

Things suck for Stanley Coopersmith (Creator/ClintHoward). He's a welfare student for a {{military school}} and is basically at the bottom of the pecking order. One day it all changes when he is given a punishment duty of cleaning the academy's chapel's basement. There he discovers belongings of late Father Esteban Lorenzo (Creator/RichardMoll), who was exiled from Spain for [[HollywoodSatanism Satanism]] in the 16th century. Coopersmith then starts studying Lorenzo's material and later uses his newly gained power to turn the tables against his tormentors.

* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: Coopersmith's bullies kill a puppy he recently adopted. Finding the dog's remains was the last straw that starts his deal with the devil.
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil: Coopersmith.
* CobwebOfDisuse: When Coopersmith first finds the basement where Esteban Lorenzo's satanic work was kept, it was very unkempt.

* FatBastard: Ox Baker, one of Douglas's cronies.
* FetusTerrible: In Coopersmith's nightmare, an embryo in a jar tries to angrily escape its confines.

* HateSink: The majority of the supporting cast due to their cruel treatment of Coopersmith.
* HeartbeatSoundtrack: Used for the ending text scroll.
* HumanSacrifice: Human blood is required to finish the black mass.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: One of the staff members is used as a human sacrifice by being thrown up to a hanging pentagram littered with spikes. The blood dripping down fuels the satanic ritual.
* {{Jerkass}}: Everyone except [=JoJo=] and the mess hall cook towards Coopersmith.
* ManOnFire: One of the soccer team members dies by fire when the satanic powers erupt in the chapel.

* MilesGloriosus: TheNeidermeyer macho student and teacher bullies are reduced to squirming {{Dirty Coward}}s once Coopersmith slaughters them all.
* NeckSnap: Satanic power forces Sarge's neck to twist itself 180 degrees.
* TheNeidermeyer: The male students and teaching staff of the military school are this towards Coopersmith.
* NightmareDreams: Coopersmith has a nightmare after reading Father Esteban's works for the first time.
* OffWithHisHead: In the opening scene and couple more in the climax.
* OminousLatinChanting: Sprinkled all throughout the film's music... it usually signals something terrible is going to happen.
* PowerFloats: Stanley, now possessed by Esteban, hovers above the boars devouring his persecutors.
* SadlyMythtaken: The oath that Coopersmith makes to Satan ("By the four beasts before the throne. By the fire which is about the throne"), while sinister-sounding, is actually lifted from the Book of Revelation's description of God's throne room in Heaven, which would make it the exact opposite of being Satanic in nature.
* ShowerScene: Ms. Friedemeyer has one before she is killed.
* SinisterMinister: Father Esteban and Reverend Jameson.
* SpitefulSpit: Father Esteban spits at the man of God who gives him his judgement in the opening scene.
* ATasteOfTheLash: Col. Kincaid beats Coopersmith with a horsewhip to punish him.
-->''"Assume the position."''
* {{Unishment}}: The Spanish Church authorities, instead of killing or imprisoning EvilSorceror Esteban, they say they are going to exile him from Spain, along with all of his magical books, items and followers, and leave him completely alone to do whatever he pleases without interference in the hopes that he will see the light on his own and change for the better. Even Esteban can't conceal the huge smirk on his face at the generous conditions of this 'punishment'. Literally the scene after this 'sentence' is laid down, Esteban and his followers perform a human sacrifice as though in celebration.
* VideoNasties: It was one of the 39 prosecuted films.
* VillainousBreakdown: After [[JerkJock Bubba's]] friend Ox gets eaten by pigs in the climax, he completely loses it and [[DirtyCoward breaks down crying]]. Some pigs maul him, but he manages to escape to the basement [[spoiler:only for the now undead Sarge to rip his heart out with his bare hands.]]
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: After completing the ritual, Stanley attacks and kills everyone trapped in the church. The ending text claims he's now in a mental asylum over the realization of what he's done.
** Or is that the case? The ominous "I will return" text on the computer has the name Esteban replaced with "Stanley Coopersmith" and a different pixelated face appears. Is Stanley's soul now bound in place of Esteban's?
* WorldOfJerkass: The military academy turns out to be a WretchedHive with [=JoJo=] and the mess hall cook as exceptions.
