All of the OCs, including main protagonist JB Jennings, are distinct and likable, with cool decks and somewhat cliche but enjoyable personalities. The duels are the focus, and the duels are great. The fic hasn't been updated since 2008 so it's pretty much dead, but I still want other tropers to read what I think is a good fanfic.

Well written and developed original characters, especially Jaden's twin, as well as interesting takes on existing characters. It has everything you could want in a story. Angst, drama, friendship, family, you name it. I highly recommend it. A spin-off and Season 2 are in the works as of now!

Also [[spoiler:The Author replaces the Seven Stars with [[Franchise/DotHack the Eight Phases of the Cursed Wave]], and then has [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot the audacity to have The Epitaph of Twilight be a real poem in the setting without The World also existing in the story]], thus making the whole thing all the more ridiculous and out of place.]] Not to mention [[spoiler:[[StayInTheKitchen the Subject]] of the HannibalLecture Kaiser Ryoko is given to convince her to give in to her dark side.]] Ugh. And then there's what the Author did to [[spoiler:Daitokuji, turning him into [[RonTheDeathEater an unrepentant cackling villain]] before promptly killing him off.]] Also, Asuka, who goes from being competent to rapidly approaching BlackHoleSue territory in the Sequel [[spoiler:by way of avoiding being brainwashed by Saio despite losing to him in a duel, AND being seen as more of a threat to his plans than Judai is for some reason.]] I could go on even further than this, but I should really stop here. A lot of things about this series just grinds my nerves, but it's well written enough that I'm sure plenty people will like it anyway and it's at least worth taking a look at.

The character is a bit arrogant when it comes to his skills as a duelist, but he has every right to be when he has Duel Spirits on his side. His interactions with other characters are very entertaining to read, and he does have a good side to him; he cares for all the spirits who jojn him and wants to make sure that they all have a chnace to shine, becuase he recognises that even the weakest card can give a large advantage.

Yarden is a boring, generic MartyStu who's too cool for everyone, does what he pleases without repercussions, is the source of adoration for all the characters the author likes and the envy of those he hates, has a bevy of snarky Duel Spirits providing running commentary for everything, and overcomes every challenge effortlessly. I stopped reading when he won a duel against Zane of all people without losing a single Life Point. The way he continually refers to the girls as "eye candy" ''to their faces'' and is rewarded with the same girls admiring his "self-confidence" and fawning over him is beyond annoying. Dreck.

Some of the changes, such as the addition of a few OCs and the absolute shake-up of the Shadow Riders roster, feel a tad unnecessary, but other elements work well (like the Author's explanation as to why there as so few girls outside the Blue Dorm). The Duels, however, are pretty high quality stuff and are a highlight of the series to me. Also has a trope page at Fanfic/YuGiOhReGX.
84	** {{Tropers/Olstheway}}: Honestly, a solid fic. Author is really good at their duel scripting and building up to the big events. The Villains don't come off as passive or inactive; they're always doing something even if we don't get to see it. Nightshroud (Shadow Rider) in this is so much more impressive than his Anime Counterpart and the Society of Light arc is quickly shaping up to be even better than the Shadow Riders Arc.
85	** {{Tropers/Leblanc}}: Honestly this my favorite GX rewrite fanfic of all time. The author doesn't copy and paste any scenes and dialogue from the anime. The duels are good quality and the author does a good job in keeping female characters relevant and writing everyone in-character. The villains are more competent and are a threat compared to anime and the story is more dark and matured and doesn't have some forced comedy scenes. Another best part of this fic, is there is no unwanted fillers.
