One of its most interesting aspects is how the author chose to portray the characters as not always getting along, even to the point of forming rivalries. This is particularly true for the princesses themselves. While it is a more general, plot-based story, there is also a romance plotline focused on Cinderella and ''Captain Jack Sparrow'' of all people, which the author somehow made work. Be warned that this story is DarkerAndEdgier than many other stories set in the Disney parks and is an incredibly emotional ride from start to finish.

Imagining the princesses as old ladies is not too difficult if you imagine their character as being completely the same. While a few parts are DarkerAndEdgier, there is something for everyone.

But it's still a worthwhile read, especially if you're reading in Halloween season.
