A ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' fanfic by [[http://www.fanfiction.net/u/3487087/agreenparrot agreenparrot]]

The cast is composed of sixteen original characters who compete for one million dollars, while Blaineley and Chef co-host. Taking a cue from the popular ''Fanfic/TotalDramaComebackSeries'', the challenges alternate between the real world and inside a virtual reality machine. For an added twist, two sets of teams are devised that the cast randomly alternate between.

Like it's popular sister fanfic, ''Fanfic/TotalDramaStranded'', the story dabbles in the theme of GreyAndGrayMorality, although not quite to the same extent.

Along with Stranded, another popular fanfic by the same writer with its own page here is ''Fanfic/TotalDramaRefresh''.

The story is now complete and can be viewed [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8619259/1/Total-Drama-Switcheroo here]]

In 2013, the author announced an All-Star season, using various cast members from Stranded, Switcheroo, and Refresh. It was announced that Gene, Kyle, Mason, Missy, Willow, and Zola from this story would be competing.

In 2014 a sequel to the story was released call Total Drama Switcheroni with a brand new cast of 20 and even more team switching and the return of the virtual reality challenges.

!!Tropes present in Total Drama Switcheroo:

* TheAce: When left to her own devices, Simone.
* {{Acrofatic}}: Zola falls into this, though one challenge that requires her to run leaves her panting.
** Chance is initially characterized as having a round figure, but it's never brought up when he's doing anything athletic.
** Ashley's a more textbook example.
* ActionGirl: Again, Simone. Corrina counts as well.
* AlliterativeName: Montegomery Mint, the OC producer character.
* AndYouThoughtItWasAGame: The contestants, at least in the beginning, wonder if the storm around the island is just another challenge they have to do.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Zola mostly shows disdain for Collin, but she does eventually show genuine affection for him.
* BigDisasterPlot: Late into the season, a storm hits the island an entire chapter is about how the cast deals with it.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: When it comes down to it, Missy. She genuinely ''wants'' to be friendly, but her idea of what's nice is so narrow she ends up coming across as a totalitarian figure, denouncing someone mean if they focus on anything other than all smiles all the time.
* BlindWithoutThem: Kitty is absolutely useless without her glasses.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Words cannot describe how horrifyingly screwy Alison is. All things considered, Missy's moral compass is also pretty broken.
* CasanovaWannabe: Collin.
* ClosetKey: [[spoiler: Inverted with Corrina, who makes Chance realize he's bi and not gay.]]
* CloudCuckooLander: Charlie, Corrina and Alison, who's an example of how this trope isn't always funny.
**CloudCuckooLand: At least half the cast can be called kooky, even more depending on your interpretation.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Mason's backstory.
* TheDeterminator: Simone never gives up. Gene takes this up for an episode [[spoiler: when the rest of his team throws the challenge to try to get rid of him.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Simone from time to time.
* DifferentInEveryEpisode: A central theme. The teams, stakes and type of challenge are decided by flags at random at the start of each episode and they are a great source of tension.
* TheDitz: Charlie, though it's mostly with being slow on the uptake.
* DumbBlonde: It never gets attention called to it, but the story averts this with every single blonde character. Kitty and Ken are both portayed as being very smart and Blaineley is at the very least a competent host. Blond-with-pink-streaks Alison is a little airy at times but is never said to be ''dumb''.
* DysfunctionJunction: By the time the merge comes, everyone seems to have trouble with everyone..
* GadgeteerGenius: Arthur, although his inventions don't always work.
* GrayAndGrayMorality: Not quite to the extent of Stranded, but it's definitely there.
* GirlishPigtails: Kitty's signature hairstyle. Simone also sports them.
* TheFashionista: Zola, who critiques everyone's fashion sense.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Alison ''is'' this trope. She actually seems to relish the unnerving quality of appearing nice while saying horrifying things.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Missy to an unbelievable degree. Kitty shows shades of this.
* IncompatibleOrientation: Chance and Corrina. Unfortunately Chance is too in denial to tell Corrina.
** [[spoiler: IfItsYouItsOkay: However, in a {{Subversion}}, after he tells her his story, he realizes he ''still'' loves Corrina and they stay decide to stay together.]]
* InsistentTerminology: Kitty is not an underdog. She is an "Undercat:
* ImNotHereToMakeFriends: Inverted with Missy, who seems more concerned with being friends with everyone than winning. At first anyway.
* {{Jerkass}}: Ashley, with no regret.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While not really a jerk per se, Zola does seem initially rough around the edges. However, she genuinely works her hardest to get rid of villains like Mason and especially Alison, and is usually just irritated by others not putting the same level of focus towards it.
* LoonyFan: Willow for the Twilight series.
* LoveTriangle: An odd example as both Missy and Alison fight over Charlie, who would rather be JustFriends with both of them.
* ManicPixieDreamGirl: Missy wants to be this, but it goes downhill for her.
* NiceGuy: Ken and Charlie. Missy says she's a Nice Girl, but really comes across more as domineering.
* OddFriendship: Simone and Willow.
* ThePollyanna: Missy, who wants everyone on her team to be friends.
* PutOnABusToHell: Chris, who loses his position on the show by being forced to clean up the toxic waste after the events of the canon fourth season.
* RedOniBlueOni: Two pairs of this are in the Final Four: [[spoiler: Simone and Kitty for the girls and Chance and Gene for the boys.]]
* SanitySlippage: Missy ''seriously'' becomes messed after a while.
* ScheherezadeGambit: [[spoiler: Simone tries to get Kitty to take her to the final three by pointing out that Chance would make a predictable and boring winner.]]
* SmugSnake: Gene.
* TakeThat: Apparently, the only thing Mr. Mint ever regretted in his life was casting Staci for Total Drama Revenge of the Island.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Simone and Missy have this dynamic when [[spoiler: they are a two-person team against eight.]]
** Simone also has this dynamic with Willow.
** Another one with Simone; she manages to also be the girly girl in her scenes with Kitty.
* TransparentCloset: Chance, although only the reader and Gene seem to notice.
* TruthTellingSession: Subverted, Blaineley doesn't let anyone else talk during what would've been one.
* WildCard: Kitty. Her entire intention is just to make the game more interesting.
* WhereDoesHeGetAllThoseWonderfulToys: Corrina seems to have a costume for everything. A stand-out example would be having a Simone costume ''despite never meeting her before coming to the island.''
* WomanScorned: [[spoiler: Contributes to Missy's SanitySlippage.]]

!!Tropes present in Total Drama Switcheroni:

* BigBad: [[spoiler:Neil]]
* ChekhovsGun: [[spoiler: Neil briefly mentioning his skill with computers in the dating challenge]] became a vital clue to who the mystery villain was and how they get their information.
* DeadpanSnarker: Considering the author, every character dabbles in this role somewhat, though Jodi, Roy, and Sharidan seem to favor it more than others.
* FairPlayWhodunnit: Figuring out the mystery villain's identity. Some people figured it out early on, though doubts were cast, to the point where names like Hilary and even Mr. Mint were mentioned by readers as potential candidates.
* GenkiGirl: '''Noriko'''
** Skye also counts ... when she's in a good mood.
* GreyAndGrayMorality: It starts off relatively Black and White, but the lines between good and evil start to blur as the season goes on.
* HiddenVillain: Somebody on the island is a [[spoiler:dangerous sociopath, who taunts his/her victims with cryptic notes, blackmail of dark secrets and occasional physical violence.]] All the while, they remain incognito.
** ParanoiaFuel: The villain could be ''anybody''. Think you're talking to a close ally? What if it's the villain?
* LampshadeHanging: Roy does this frequently.
* MonochromeCasting: Every member of Team Blaineriffic is white. Lampshaded by Jacquie at one point
* MoodSwinger: '''SKYE'''. She can go from sweet and happy to crazy and shrieking at the drop of a hat.
* OneSteveLimit: Semi-averted, with the inclusion of Skye, who's not to be confused with the girl on the real show named Sky.
* PutOnABusToHell: Like last season, Chris falls victim to this due to Blaineley sending him on a one-way flight to Alaska.
* ShootTheMessenger: [[spoiler: A downplayed example is how Loren gets eliminated. He passes on a vote decision from Lynne onto his friend Noroko; Noriko passed it onto Strike who is none-too-happy with Loren 'getting ideas' and has him eliminated despite him just carrying a message.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: There was some initial confusion as to whether or not Neil's name was spelled "Neal" or "Neil", due to the former spelling appearing on the author's teaser for the season on deviantART, and the latter being used in the fic proper. The author confirmed that "Neil" is the officially correct spelling.
