''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3933832/1/Harry_Potter_and_the_Invincible_TechnoMage Harry Potter and the Invincible TechnoMage]]'' is a ''Franchise/HarryPotter''[=/=]''ComicBook/IronMan'' Crossover Fanfic written by [[http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1298529/Clell65619 Clell65619]]. The plot involves a 5-year-old Harry and the Dursleys visiting Stark Enterprises. Dudley pushes some buttons and accidentally causes a chain reaction that kills the Dursleys but Harry is saved by accidental magic. Tony Stark, at first shocked that someone survived the explosion, eventually decides to adopt Harry giving him the name he is known by throughout the fic: Harry Stark.

At its heart the story is a crossover between Franchise/HarryPotter and the Franchise/MarvelUniverse with increasing cameos from Marvel outside of Iron Man. Eventually Harry is found by Dumbledore and invited to Hogwarts on his eleventh birthday. Harry is reluctant, but having been told of the dire consequences should he not go eventually convinces him that he is needed at Hogwarts.

Apparently inspired ''Fanfic/ChildOfTheStorm'' - though by 'inspired', we mean 'the author decided he'd seen one crossover of this type too many and decided to write his own'. Suffice it to say, he's not a fan.

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:A-M]]
* AesopAmnesia: Despite the Marvelverse characters ''continuously'' showing why underestimating them is a bad idea, the Wizarding World doesn't seem to ever get the memo. This includes the time when Captain Britain, Merlin's representative in that reality, said specifically "Stop doing what you're doing."
* AllOfThem: Harry and Tony Stark start preparing to sue Dumbledore in case Dumbledore fails to prevent Harry from being entered against his will in the Triwizard Tournament. When Dumbledore asks which wizarding law firms Tony Stark has contacted in that preparation, Harry Stark answers "All of them." Later it's revealed that Tony Stark hired half the wizarding legal firms and Sirius Black hired the other half, adding up to ''all'' the wizarding legal firms.
* BadassAdorable: Harry Stark, Franklin Richards.
* BodyHorror:
** Lucius Malfoy [[spoiler:after being subjected to brutal torture in response to his handing the Diary to Luna Lovegood.]] There is a reference to Lucius caressing the "flawless bone white surface of his 'new face'".
*** Technically, that's not body horror, it was referring to the half mask he wears because of the horrible disfigurement he was subjected to. Phantom of the Opera-style, not Red Skull.
** Peter Pettigrew [[spoiler: attempts to shapeshift into a rat without taking into account that he's full of steel screws after recent injuries.]]
* BrickJoke: When Sirius is waiting to meet Tony he has a slinky and a yo-yo to keep himself occupied. Later on Snape mentions that these two toys were fads during his school days and that [[spoiler:he tried to set a school record for most steps descended by a slinky]].
** While preventing his father from taking over his school project, Harry mentions he is glad Doctor Doom didn't have any kids in the same school district as him. Cue fourth year [[spoiler:and it turns out Doctor Doom is Viktor Krum's godfather.]]
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: Harry remarks that him being kidnapped for Voldemort's resurrection was boring as far as kidnappings go. [[spoiler:It probably helped that Tom's new body ended up splattered over half the graveyard]].
* TheCameo: Tons and tons of Franchise/MarvelUniverse characters are referenced, both well known and obscure. There are also a few brief but specific references to Creator/DCComics characters like Franchise/{{Batman}} and ComicBook/GreenArrow.
* CatsAreSuperior: Millicent Bulstrode's cat certainly thinks so.
* ChainedHeat: The second task of the Triwizard Tournament finds Harry connected to Tracey, his "hostage" by a magical yard-long golden cord between their wrists.
* ChildrenRaiseYou: Tony is noticeably more mature and self-controlled than he is in Marvel canon due entirely to having raised Harry.
* ChivalrousPervert: Harry seems like a budding example of one in this story with the way he talks to Hermione and Padma Patil.
** [[JustifiedTrope He WAS raised by Tony Stark...]]
* CrossoverRelatives: Harry being adopted by Tony Stark might not count, but then we find out Viktor Krum's godfather is a certain [[ComicBook/DoctorDoom Viktor Von Doom]]...
* CurbstompBattle: The Marvel Universe outclasses the ''Franchise/HarryPotter'' universe in almost every way in this story. Not only can a {{Muggle}} like ComicBook/IronMan breach the security wards of Hogwarts (finding it with the help of Captain Britain and Meggan, two magical Marvel Universe heroes), Harry was trained by ''Comicbook/DoctorStrange'' of all people, effectively eliminating his need for a magical education. Also, magical culture is shown to be stagnant and backwards, filled with ridiculous amounts of FantasticRacism and corrupt to high heaven. The two reasons the Potterverse shows up at all are because Harry [[BecauseDestinySaysSo can't avoid the prophecy]], and because (per WordOfGod) even though there exist god-like beings (as well as actual gods) in the Marvel Universe, many of them focus more on the Galactuses and the Doctor Dooms, while leaving lesser heroes to take care of lesser villains, which Voldemort counts as in this world. The specific example given is that there exists a super villain named "Paste-Pot Pete," who acts as an antagonist to Spider-Man or Daredevil, but would obviously not be of much use against, say, Thor, the god of Thunder.
* DistractedByTheSexy: How [[spoiler:Fleur Delacour ends up winning her grappling duel with Harry and, thus, the Triwizard Tournament. Steve, Sirius, Cedric and Viktor give Harry a good teasing over it later--but Sirius warns Hermione and Padma looked pretty upset (and as Steve put it, "Though, in fairness, I think it was a tossup if they were angrier with the French girl for being all curvy and oiled up, or with you for noticing.")]]
* DoomyDoomsOfDoom: The Longbottom family has a Doom Bell that they ring whenever they declare war on somebody.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Lucius Malfoy gets badly wounded. Rather than swear vengeance, he slips into depression, isolating himself from his family and from his allies. While his actions did precipitate his wounding, his family is shown to be very concerned about him, and even Draco is upset about how different his father is acting, and it's shown as affecting even for those who aren't directly under Malfoy's umbrella (Crabbe, Goyle, and Harry all stop to give Draco their condolences).
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Tracey Davis' grandfather orders her to seduce Harry in order to ensure the Potter fortune ends up in the Davis' family's hands. Any actions Tracey takes as just being Harry's friend are mostly taken as in-roads towards fulfilling those orders, without taking into account that, maybe, she cares not for the orders.
* ExactWords: Hermione is able to get permission for Franklin to accompany her to the Yule Ball by asking [=McGonagall=] if there are rules against inviting someone as a date who isn't a student at Hogwarts; [=McGonagall=] assumed that Hermione was asking on behalf of the offer she had received from Viktor Krum, but Hermione can honestly state that she asked for and received permission to bring Franklin.
* ForWantOfANail: Due to being raised by Tony, Harry ends up in Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor. Hermione does as well. Also, see ChildrenRaiseYou.
* FriendlyEnemy: Harry manages to turn Draco, Crabbe and Goyle into these, and Draco in this story on some level seems to see Harry as a WorthyOpponent.
* GuileHero: Harry. [[spoiler: Fleur has some traits of this as well, having used a summon spell to summon ''Cedric's boots'' to take him off of his feet, then using her feminine wiles to keep Harry DistractedByTheSexy enough to get the win in the Triwizard Tournament.]]
* HopelessWithTech: Hermione and Tracey attempt to take apart a computer to see how it works- key word here is "attempt". Hermione immediately hits a stumbling block because the instruction manual doesn't say what direction that screws are supposed to turn in, and was using the wrong type of screwdriver. Tracey was magical raised and, in the words of Stuart Granger, "is frightened by every single thing in [the Granger's] house."
* HypocriticalHumor: Sirius brings a woman to his (and Remus') house in Hogsmeade, with the obvious intention of having sex with her, when they find a drunk Remus in there. The woman complains to Sirius using a wrong name, and Sirius is angry that the woman does not know his name... and he himself does not really know the woman's name.
** When Kitty sends Harry a poster of herself in skin-tight clothes, Hermione calls him a pervert. Harry points out that she (Hermione) has a life-sized shirtless poster of Captain Britain. Hermione proceeds to ask for Kitty's poster.
* IWarnedYou: Franklin warned Snape he'd be watching him. When Snape goes after Hermione AFTER the Yule Ball, Franklin decides her well-being is [[WorthIt worth facing Professor Xavier's wrath]] when he drags Snape's mind into the Mindscape. All while Franklin is in America and Snape's at Hogwarts. He shows Snape he wasn't bluffing with an empty threat. He did also make TheBet with Harry that Franklin thought Snape would go after Hermione in particular, especially after the Yule Ball fiasco. Harry disagreed, and 50 US dollars was the wager. When Harry saw what happened with Snape and that Franklin had to act, he realizes he's out 50 dollars.
* {{Kidfic}}: The premise of the story is Tony Stark raising Harry Potter.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: Peter Pettigrew. In order, he was: mauled by a cat while he was in his rat form, dropped from the Hogwarts train while it was moving, probably was in the middle of a field for hours before being found, taken to a hospital, where he was subjected to a large series of operations, and then, when he tried to leave the hospital, he transformed again into his rat form, without realizing about the steel screws in his bones. He ends up bleeding out, with several of his bones broken.]] ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill, indeed.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Lucius Malfoy [[spoiler:pays dearly for handing Tom Riddle's diary to Luna Lovegood.]]
* {{Magitek}}: After Reed Richards from the ComicBook/FantasticFour discovers how ''Harry Potter'' magic works, Tony uses this knowledge to design ComicBook/IronMan armours that can work within Hogwarts' anti-technology field (such as the exo-skeleton he gives Harry). Later on, Muggle electronics such as cell phones and CD players are introduced to Hogwarts, causing much frustration for Dumbledore. Finally, Harry's senior project is to design a magical computer that partially involves replacing circuits with ancient runes.
** Dumbledore doesn't like that the electronics can now run on Hogwarts' magic, which is draining the wards of the school. Chandrahas Patil, Parvati and Padma's father, had built a tower outside of Hogsmeade on property he owned, and both he and Tony are partners in a Magical Consumer Electronics Shop in Diagon Alley. Filius and Snape tell Dumbledore once the novelty wears off, they'll be back to normal.
** Vibranium apparently enhances Potterverse magic by a lot.
* MuggingTheMonster: A hick wizard that had been living in NYC by robbing rich teens makes the mistake of taking Franklin hostage since he deemed Neville and Harry, both wizards, to be a bigger threat. Though Harry by himself can decimate half of the city before he is stopped, Franklin, being an omega class mutant, [[PersonofMassDestruction can destroy all the world if he loses control.]]
* MugglesDoItBetter: Reed Richards utterly defies his own [[ReedRichardsIsUseless trope]] (while playing [[AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome another one]] dead straight) and makes Harry-Potter magic functional around technology, and Tony manages to make a cheap energy source out of it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:N-Z]]
* NoodleIncident: Apparently Reed Richards' robotic butlers have a tendency to go nuts.
--> If this one ran amok and tried to kill them like the last two had, she and her loving husband would be having words about the capabilities he designed into his robotic domestics.
* NotSoHarmless: Captain America taught Harry to take advantage of the fact that people usually underestimate young children. In a flashback Harry is seen kicking a would-be kidnapper's ass.
* OhCrap:
** Tony gives a joking version of this when he hears that Sirius Black has a Slinky. ItMakesSenseInContext.
** Another one given as a reaction to Sirius, a group of terrorists show up at a charity dinner to do general terrorist/robber things. Sirius, trying to play himself off as a costumed hero, decides to call himself "The Wizard," inadvertently taking the name of a fairly notorious Marvel Supervillain. The reaction subsides when the terrorists/robbers realize that it isn't the same Wizard that they were thinking of, but comes back when Sirius beats them all.
** Harry's usual reaction to Steve Rogers's TrainingFromHell.
** Once Snape realizes Master Alchemist Esteban Corazón de Ablo was the one who belittled him in front of the staff, he puts one on (as he had de Albo's text which included brews he didn't even try to make himself). Dumbledore gets one as he finds de Albo's found Neville's the student that inspired the Alchemist to teach again ("The boy has potential, a sense of wonder, and a willingness to learn I've rarely encountered over the years.")—and is considering NEVILLE for an apprenticeship (which Dumbledore himself never got from de Albo).
** Hermione, Neville, Padma and Tracey when [[spoiler:they are kidnapped by the Kree and realise they are in orbit.]]
** Harry's reaction when he realises Krum's godfather is [[spoiler:ComicBook/DoctorDoom]]. Luckily, he didn't come to fight.
* OhNoNotAgain: Harry's reaction to Padma saying "We think we've been kidnapped" is to ask, "Again?" Neville is a bit disturbed at the implication that Harry has been kidnapped before.
* PapaWolf: Tony Stark becomes this to Harry. Even deciding to put Hogwarts under threat of orbital bombardment after Madame Web warns Harry about the impending Triwizard Tournament.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Once Franklin reveals to them he's a psionic with telepath and telekinetic powers as well, he shows WHY you don't mess with him.
* PowerLimiter: Harry has one for his [[spoiler:Chaos magic]].
** As does [[Comicbook/FantasticFour Franklin Richards]], Harry's best friend.
* ThePrankster: The Weasley Twins are as usual [[spoiler:and Neville, after he gets alchemy training from Master Alchemist Esteban Corazón de Ablo, letting him brew a potion will let him animate anything it touches for half an hour to his commands. This is a big role in him helping his classmates get the better of Kree who kidnap them: make duplicates of ComicBook/SpiderMan action figures that respond to Neville]].
* ScrewYouElves: The tone of this story makes it ''very'' clear the author is not a fan of how the wizards' culture and society in the Potterverse operate. While individual wizards and witches are generally treated on a case-by-case basis, ranging from good to downright horrible, the culture itself is repeatedly called out for being ridiculously racist and [[MedievalStasis stagnant]]. Somewhat justified, as Rowling herself is on record as saying that someone with a gun will generally beat someone with a wand - and the Marvel characters have ''much'' better tech than guns.
** Not to ''actual'' elves, though - those Harry is rather nice towards.
* ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing: Played in a horrible enough manner with [[spoiler:Peter Pettigrew, who, after being severely injured, attempts to shapeshift into a rat... not taking into account he's full of steel screws.]]
* ShoutOut: There are several brief references to Gotham City from the Franchise/DCUniverse put in as an in-joke. Also, Harry is reading a ''ComicStrip/{{Garfield}}'' book while on trial by the Ministry as they attempt to declare Tony Stark's adoption illegal.
** Also, there's a nod to the [[Film/IronMan1 2008 Iron Man film]] where Tony and Harry discuss [[CelebrityParadox who should play the former in a biopic of his life]], and Harry thinks that Creator/RobertDowneyJr did a good job in ''Chaplin'', so...
*** After offering Burt Reynolds as a first choice.
** While he has Neville in the States, Harry and Franklin bring him to an arcade, where he turns out to be a prodigy at playing ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}''.
** While the Dursleys were taking the tour, a French company owned by [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration the Picard Family]] is in attendance as well.
** [[Film/ShortCircuit ''Short Circuit'']] is referenced when Harry, the fifth in his class is razzed with "Number Five is alive!"
* StrawLoser: Severus, Dumbledore, Fudge... much of the fic is a continual "You suck" to the Magical World and the Potterverse.
* SummonBiggerFish: During his custody trial, Harry decides to call in a member of the super-powered community to stand by his side... and decides on calling ''Thor.'' He even has fairly good reasons for doing so (wizarding courts wouldn't have listened to Tony as he's a muggle, Doctor Strange and Agatha Harkness are criminals by the wizarding world's standards, Wanda would have needed to throw around too much power to get anyone to listen to her, Hercules would have broken heads on principle, and Sersi would have likely transfigured everyone, where Thor's intimidating enough to make an impression while being level-headed enough not to start killing everyone the second they disagree with him).
* SupermanStaysOutOfGotham: {{Justified}}. Thor, Iron Man, Dr. Strange, and the other top-tier Marvel heroes could easily crush Voldemort and his Death Eaters... if they could spare the time from dealing with the villains who ''can'' compete on their tier.
* TakeThat: In addition to the discussion of "Who would play the cast of an Iron Man Movie" mentioned above, Tony scoffs at the idea that Jarvis would be played by an A.I and not a human being like the ''real'' Jarvis (who in the comics is the BattleButler of [[ComicBook/TheAvengers The Avengers]]).
** HilariousInHindsight: ''Series/AgentCarter'' reveals that Edwin Jarvis was Howard Stark's butler, and that Tony probably named J.A.R.V.I.S. after the real deal.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Grab any chapter. ANY CHAPTER. If you don't find at least three by the end you are reading the wrong fic.
* TooDumbToLive: The Dursleys. Dudley causes an accident that causes not only their deaths but others that were trying to stop them.
** Dudley is almost excusable: he's six. Worse is the fact Vernon actually ''hindered'' attempts to get Dudley to stop.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:George, a good hearted clone of MODOC implanted with a genetic kill switch beyond Reed's ability to defuse]].
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: Dudley plays with an entire control panel's worth of buttons in Stark Enterprises, leading to explosive results, and [[IncitingIncident kickstarting the story]].
* YouCantFightFate: After the Wizengamot led by Fudge, Umbridge and Dumbledore try to separate Harry from Tony in order "to fulfill his destiny," The Boy Who Lived is [[ScrewDestiny not about to help do so]]. After this, Madame Web tells Harry he'll eventually have to face Voldemort, but [[SadisticChoice does he face his parents' murderer in three years, or after Voldemort has consoldated power in Britain (and none of Harry's acquaintances survived it)?]] For the sake of his friends, he goes back (but not without some guarantees on both sides this time).
* YouWouldntLikeMeWhenImAngry: Franklin Richards tells this to Snape, Dumbledore and [=McGonagall=] when they point their wands at him, and their own FantasticRacism against Muggles and non-wand using magicians shows through as they tear down Hermione for going with Franklin and not the expected Viktor Krum as her Yule Ball date.
