** The stand-off scene in which Chris disarmed a former government worker was inspired from ''Film/MurderAt1600''.
** Jill killing off the first Hunter is a reference to ''Film/HardTarget''.
** Chris using the line "Don't you trust your partner" is the same line Jill uses on him in VideoGame/ResidentEvil5.
** Chris using the Rolling Sobat and Jill using the Death Tower slam are from Franchise/StreetFighter
** Rebecca spraying Chris in the face with bug spray is referenced from the S.P. Perry novel The Umbrella Conspiracy. Caliban Cove is also referenced in the fanfic as well. The name Stacey Kelso (who is Chris' second ex-girlfriend in the story) is from City of the Dead.
* ShownTheirWork: The author researching the viruses used in the series, as it is shown in the meeting of the Umbrella executives in how the T-virus works. The nuclear destruction of Raccoon City also falls under this trope, as the author researched how a nuclear detonation actually worked.
* SideEffectsInclude...: Jill's eyes were originally brown. [[spoiler: Wesker does tell her that she has nice blue eyes as a result of the side effects to P20]].
* WorthyOpponent: Vector of The Wolfpack sees Chris as this.
