''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda'' Fanfiction, written by [[http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1292951/Nenilein Nenilein]], ''aka'' Tropers/MeikyuButterfly. It is best described as a CrossOver, starting out covering ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker'' and ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime'', but eventually expanding to ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess'', while continuing to incorporate more and more elements of most of the other games as well, like ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask'' and even ''VideoGame/ZeldaIITheAdventureOfLink''.

Roughly a year after the events of ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker The Wind Waker]]'' (and half a year after the events of ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaPhantomHourglass Phantom Hourglass]]''), Link and Tetra return to Outset Island, in order to celebrate a traditional festival. One of the stories told there, however, gets Link curious for the fate of the legendary Hero of Time and tempts him to go and try how far the powers of the [[MagicMusic ancient kingdom's music and his baton]] actually reach. The next day, he wakes up to face a completely clueless second boy in green clothes in his room, who insists that he's called "Link" and the Hero of Time.
Meanwhile, the Triforce suddenly reappears, Tetra starts having visions of ancient Hyrule and Ganondorf, which obviously can't be a good sign and the two Links realize that moving away from each other for some reason causes [=OoT!Link=] to get his energy drained and slowly fade into oblivion.

Also, there's the Great Fairy Queen's warning of the impending [[TheEndofTheWorldAsWeKnowIt Apocalypse]].

Originally written and published in German on [[http://www.fanfiktion.de Fanfiktion.de]] ([[XtremeKoolLetterz Yes, that's how it's spelt]]) under the title [[CompletelyDifferentTitle "Unify]][[GratuitousEnglish -Breaking the frontiers"]], where it is, with 66 chapters, still ongoing, the English version is basically the author trying to expand and enhance the original story, by filling it's {{Plot Hole}}s and improving the pacing, as well as the dialogue. Earlier chapters suffer from RougeAnglesOfSatin though, due to the (non-native-speaker) author being too impatient to let her beta-reader catch up, but newer chapters resolved this issue by "hiring" a second beta-reader. [[MoodWhiplash The prose and mood of the story change a lot between chapter 20 and 30]]

!!Linked Chronicles provides examples of:

%%* AlternateTimeline: As confusing as ever. Not even the sages are 100% sure how it works.
%%* BadassAdorable: The Links, naturally.
* BagOfHolding: Slightly implied, in order to avoid {{Hammerspace}}. Seems to not be present in any scene where carrying a bag would be inconvenient.
* ChaosArchitecture: Both {{Lampshaded}} and {{Subverted}} through [=OoT!Link=] comparing the Islands of the Great Sea to the Hyrule of his era.
%%* CharacterizationMarchesOn: [=OoT!Link=]
%%* CheerfulChild: Aryll.
* CuteWitch: Wizrova, [[spoiler: except she's an EnfantTerrible]]. Earlier on, [=TWW!Link=] envisions his sister Aryll as one, when it is mentioned that she might have a lot of potential for casting magic.
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: [[spoiler: Wizrova]] uses this on [[spoiler: the Links to catch them off guard.]]
* DramaticEllipsis: ''Massively'' overused, to the point that one could call them a ''tic'' of the author.
* EnfantTerrible: [[spoiler: Wizrova, a monster which looks like a 7 years old girl but is actually a psychopathic Wizrobe.]]
* {{Exposition}}: Lots of it, done in various ways, mostly attempting to make sense of the [[ContinuitySnarl Timeline]]. The sage's speeches however tend to become pure InfoDump.
%%* FairyCompanion: Eyne.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: [=OoT!Link=]. MedievalStasis helps to avoid many of the usual characteristics of this trope though.
* FlatWhat: Used several times by the characters, usually to express how dumbfounded they are by something.
* ForcedTransformation: Medli's spell crystal turns out to be [[spoiler: The "FAIRY"-spell from ''VideoGame/ZeldaIITheAdventureOfLink'', after Aryll accidently uses it on her brother...]] HilarityEnsues.
* GratuitousJapanese: The two Links take on nicknames based on both the magical items they are most well-known for, as well as their respective titles, in order to avoid confusion. Plotwise, the nicknames are supposed to be in ancient Hylian Language. In RealLife, they are merely the Japanese words for "Time" ("Toki") and "Wind" ("Kaze").
* HeyThatsMyLine: When Aryll snatches an item and does Link's standart ''Item Get!''-stance.
* IdiotBall: The second half of Chapter 27 has the Links acting incredibly naive twice in a row. It is {{Lampshaded}} and the author herself has [[ShrugOfGod no explanation]] for it either, except for ''"They should have seen it coming; Let's say it wasn't their day."''
%%* IncrediblyLamePun: Just take look at the title and do the math.
* IronWoobie: [=OoT!Link=], after [[spoiler: regaining the memories of his remaining life]] is more worried about people feeling sorry for him then about going back to being dead again and stops angsting about the loss of "his" Hyrule the moment he learns of the existence of the other Timeline. He continues to angst and have nightmares about Termina though.
%%* LittleMissSnarker: Tetra.
* LotusEaterMachine: [[spoiler: The Links are trapped in one by Wizrova during the battle in the Water Temple. TWW Link's dream gave him back his parents and the rest of the childhood he had to sacrifice for his travels, whereas OOT Link's dream gives him both Navi and Saria and an eternal childhood in Kokiri forest. The dreams also cause their memories of ever being heroes to gradually fade.]]
%%* MagicMusic
%%* MotorMouth: Eyne, whenever she wants to tell the boys to ''hurry''.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: [[spoiler: Eyne.]] It is obvious that she knows a lot more than she is claiming. Adding the fact that she [[spoiler: is capable of casting magic a fairy of her rank shouldn't be able to cast...]]
** [[spoiler: ...it should have really been obvious that she was [[TheMole going to backstab them.]]]]
* OneHeadTaller: It eventually transpires that [=TWW!Link=] has apparently barely grown at all since his first adventure, leaving him several inches shorter than Tetra and still at least two inches shorter than his counterpart from 1000 years before.
%%* PsychicDreamsForEveryone: Both Links and Tetra. [=TP!Link=] and Zelda as well.
* PsychicLink: The Links, to some extent, but it causes them more problems than good, since it basically halfs their power and makes them unable to move away to far from each other without endangering [=OoT!Link's life=] [[spoiler: and latter, the life of [=TWW!Link=]]]
* {{Reincarnation}}: Used by the sages to explain the existence of [[LegacyCharacter Legacy Characters]]. And to make the two Links feel like [[MindScrew someone who just watched the last 2 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion.]]
* SelfDeprecation: Eyne, who keeps calling herself a "low-tier fairy" and at one point even smiles while stating that nobody would want to be a fairy.
* ShoutOut: Numerous, mostly to other Zelda games, except in the [[spoiler: drinking chapter]], where most of the current cast, to quote the author's note, "turns into walking Internet Memes".
* SlipknotPonytail: Tetra is forced to wear her hair open, after she looses her barette in a storm, causing her to resemble Princess Zelda even more than she already did. It happened off-screen, the reader only finds out about it once Link askes her about her change in hairstyle. In a more straight example, Eyne's braids come undone, when [[spoiler: she increases her size in order to attack the Links.]]
* SplitPersonalityMerge: Saria uses this on the Links in order to prove to them that they're [[{{Reincarnation}} Reincarnations]], but ends up almost accidently [[MindRape crushing their individual minds]] by doing so.
* StayInTheKitchen: Played with: Tetra believes Link was invoking this for her, while he really just is convinced that ''everyone'' near them is in mortal danger, due to the LegionsOfHell going after them. Also, [[spoiler: inverted, as Tetra tried to keep ''Link'' out of the battles this time by trapping him on Windfall Island.]]
* TechnicolorEyes: [=Tww!Link=]'s eyes appear different in color, depending on the angle you look into them. It's supposed to be a reference to a change his artwork received in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaPhantomHourglass Phantom Hourglass]]'' (making his eyes look blue-greenish in the upper half of the iris/pupil and brownish in the lower half.), but there's supposedly also another reason behind this. Regardless, the clishee-ness of this is promptly {{Lampshaded}}.
%%* TheyCallHimSword: See GratuitousJapanese above.
* TradeSnark:
-> "Oh, I get it, let me guess! The [[TheHero Great Mighty Hero™]] can't help but feel humiliated, because I refuse to play the role of the [[PrincessClassic Fair Pure Princess™]], who [[StayInTheKitchen nicely stays behind]] and waits until he's done with boosting his ego on some stupid quest."
* {{Tsundere}}: Tetra, Midna.
* VerbalTic: The fairy Eyne has a habit of repeating certain words exactly thrice when she's nervous (read: Most of the time.)
* YourDaysAreNumbered: [[spoiler: [=OoT!Link=], due to not belonging into the timeline. Once it's fixed again, he will disappear.]]
