----
* ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'': In one of the weirder cases of this trope, Marshall Lee is this to Marceline, being a {{Gender Flip}}ped AuthorAvatar of her. He's a much darker and crueler reflection of her, and Marcy almost seems to ''wish'' she could be like him. That said, for a ShadowArchetype, Marshall sure seems to hate seeing Fionna cry.
* In an episode of ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfSamAndMaxFreelancePolice'', the eponymous duo accidentally release Dangly Deever, a Howdy Doody-style children's show marionette, while futzing with one of the Geek's numerous research projects. This seems harmless enough, until the Geek returns in time for an evil version of Dangly, and several other puppets who didn't get good counterparts, to break free. At the climax, the two Danglies are struggling for dominance while the heroes try to pick out their target.
* ''WesternAnimation/AladdinTheSeries''
** Mozenrath to Aladdin. Both of them are very clever and quick-witted, yet they are prone to letting their youthful impatience and boredom get in their way of completely reaching their [[GuileHero full]] [[MagnificentBastard potential]], and they're both hinted to have rather unpleasant pasts. Oh, and neither of them is ever seen without their faithful animal companions.
** Abiz Mal is this to the Sultan. They are designed similarly (short and pudgy) and both are inept. They both have Jaffar as their second-in-command also.
* ''WesternAnimation/AllHailKingJulien'' features the evil Fanaloka Karl who explicitly declares himself to be in a battle of light and dark with King Julien, and he's not too far off; both are eccentric and have huge egos and both make their HomeBase in the ruins of a crashed human aircraft.
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'': TheAntichrist is the exact opposite of Jesus in ''every way''. His opening line is "Condemn them, mother, for they know exactly what they're doing"[[note]]Opposite of "Forgive them, father, for they know not what they do"[[/note]], he builds a deathtrap where Jesus is suffocated in earth (to see if he can swim in land), but the death trap instantly falls apart, since Jesus was a carpenter, while the antichrist isn't handy at all.
* In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'':
** There's a clear parallel between the two families of Southern Water Tribe and Fire Nation Royal Family, especially since it's consists of a father (Ozai and Hakoda), son (Sokka and Zuko) and daughter (Katara and Azula) and a MissingMom (Kya and ‎Ursa‎). But of course, while the Water Tribe family is heroic, the Fire Nation family is villainous though Zuko [[HeelFaceTurn got better]].
*** Ozai and Hakoda have surprising similarities despite the former being [[spoiler:[[DePower formerly]]]] a Firebender and the latter a BadassNormal. Both are the leaders of their respective countries, both are expert strategists when it comes to warfare, both can be very distant with their children and they even have similar facial features (as noted by fans). However, while Hakoda dearly loved his wife Kya, as well as cherishing Sokka and Katara whom he missed every day since he went to war, Ozai on the other hand forcibly married Ursa against her will, physically abuses Zuko, psychologically twists Azula and happily banishes or casts aside his family in the pursuit of power. This contrast is depicted when Katara reveals her anger towards Hakoda, who takes her criticisms in stride and reassures her that he loves her and Sokka without them having to do anything for it, then immediately cutting to Zuko meeting Ozai for the first time in years where Ozai reaffirms his "love" for Zuko because he met the right conditions for it.
*** Zuko and Sokka were originally this and even when Zuko TookALevelInKindness he and Sokka and still [[CommonalityConnection discover they're not that different]]. Both Zuko and Sokka looked up to their fathers and had heavy responsibilities placed upon them from a young age, both Zuko and Sokka do their best to be intimidating but often embarrass themselves in dorky fashion, Zuko and Sokka are/become MasterSwordsmen and are both [[ChickMagnet Chick Magnets]]. However, while Sokka had a loving relationship with Hakoda and (despite the bickering) an equally healthy relationship with his sister Katara to the point where Sokka can't even remember his mother Kya and when he does he just pictures Katara, Zuko is at violent odds with his father and sister. In fact, Ozai and Azula's pretense to care about him is nothing more than manipulation, causing Zuko to turn back to the dark side in Season 2. After joining the heroes, Zuko even copies Sokka's ways in the ''ComicBook/AvatarTheLastAirbenderTheSearch'' being inspired when Sokka expresses his care for Katara to put a blanket over a sleeping Azula.
*** Katara and Azula: roughly the same [[ImprobableAge age]], both the daughters of leaders with leadership skills of their own, both freakishly [[TheGift powerful and talented]] prodigies with their elements, both at least occasionally overbearing control freaks and possessed of a dangerous temper when provoked. On opposite lines of the RedOniBlueOni divide they may be, but taking into account their fathers' personalities/influences they are far more alike than one may think.
** Azula also serves as an Evil Counterpart to Iroh. Both Azula and Iroh try to steer Zuko down different life paths, but while Iroh encourages him to become a better Fire Lord, Azula instead encourages him to become just like Ozai. This is {{lampshade|Hanging}}d in a nightmare Zuko has, in which two dragons appear on either side of him. The red dragon, who advocates changing the Fire Nation's legacy, has Iroh's voice, while the blue, who advocates continuing Ozai's way, has Azula's. This situation becomes reality in Book 2's finale, where Zuko [[spoiler:goes Azula's way]]. Over the course of Book 3, Zuko realizes that he isn't at all happy with this decision, and subsequently [[spoiler: switches to Iroh's way]].
** Zuko has one in Zhao who is older than him, experienced in war, willing to sacrifice others to further his own career, and seems to have favor within the Fire Nation helping him go through the ranks. It is also shown with the fact that they're also unfriendly rivals in the show always fighting whether physically or over Aang. They also attempt to capture Aang for different reasons; Zuko so he can restore his honor and return home with the love of his [[BigBad abusive father]], and Zhao as a vanity project.
** [[spoiler:[[EvilMentor Hama]]]] serves as another Evil Counterpart to Katara. Both of them went through horrible things during the war against the Fire Nation (Katara lost her mother; [[spoiler:Hama]] was captured and left to rot in a prison cell); however, [[spoiler:Hama]] became so obsessed with revenge that she became [[HeWhoFightsMonsters no better than those who hurt her]], even going as far as imprisoning innocent civilians in a cave simply because they were Fire Nation.
*** [[spoiler:Hama]] could also be considered an Evil Counterpart to Pakku. Both serve as mentors to Katara, but their positions and relationship with her change as the episodes go on. [[spoiler:Hama]] is woman from the Southern Water Tribe who establishes a rapport with Katara over their similar backstories, while Pakku is a man from the Northern Water Tribe who Katara initially hates because of his upholding of the sexist Northern Water Tribe laws. The difference between them is that Pakku undergoes CharacterDevelopment after learning that Katara is the granddaughter of his lost love, and relents, allowing Katara to reach her full potential as a waterbender. In contrast, [[spoiler:Hama]] forces Katara to learn a horrifying waterbending technique against her will.
** Jet to Sokka. Both are teenagers whose villages were attacked by the Fire Nation while they were young and are skilled non-benders who can keep up with powerful benders. Both also harbored prejudices towards the Fire Nation because of what they experienced, but Jet took his prejudice and [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope jumped off the slippery slope with them]] while Sokka quickly learned not all firebenders are monsters.
* The titular heroes of ''WesternAnimation/AvengerPenguins'' have evil counterparts in a rival biker gang called the Stink Brothers.
* ''WesternAnimation/AvengersAssemble''
** Red Skull to Captain America, as per usual. [[spoiler: Later he's this for both Cap and Iron Man.]]
** The Squadron Supreme (Supervillains here, like the Squadron Sinister in the comics) serve as Evil Counterparts to the Avengers, but they're even more directly counterparts to DC rivals the Justice League (Nighthawk = ComicBook/{{Batman}}, Hyperion = ComicBook/{{Superman}}, Speed Demon = ComicBook/TheFlash, Zarda = ComicBook/WonderWoman, Doctor Spectrum = ComicBook/GreenLantern)
* Rataxes is Babar's evil counterpart in ''WesternAnimation/{{Babar}}'': both are kings of animal nations but whilst Babar is a [[TheGoodKing benevolent, fair and peace-loving monarch]], Rataxes is a mean dictator.
* ''ComicStrip/{{Bananaman}}'' had an evil counterpart in Appleman.
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'':
** [[Characters/BatmanSupportingCast The Creeper]] was presented as the Joker's ''good counterpart'', being doused by the Joker's PsychoSerum as well as the same chemicals, but turning out as a well-intentioned mad man. He is just as obsessively attracted to Harley Quinn as she is to the Joker, creeping her out. It also puts the lie into any idea that the Joker's origin makes a FreudianExcuse: the same thing happened to another man, but while he became just as delightfully insane, he doesn't go around killing people.
** [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Roland Daggett]] is one to [[HonestCorporateExecutive Bruce Wayne]], an evil man who uses his wealth to achieve ends with very destructive means vs. a responsible billionaire who uses his wealth to improve lives and risks his life to defeat criminals.
** In a rare villain to villain example, Grant Walker to Mr. Freeze. As pointed out by [[http://worldsfinestonline.com/WF/batman/btas/episodes/deepfreeze/ a reviewer for the episode "Deep Freeze"]], Mr. Freeze is a man who claims to be dead to emotions, but whose emotions -- mainly his love for his wife -- drive his actions, and what prevents him from carrying out Walker's plan, not to mention hating his frozen state. Walker is a seemingly kind man, who thinks nothing of freezing all but a select few to create his own world, and who prefers the confinement of Mr. Freeze. This made him more of a Mr. Freeze than the original one.
* ''Franchise/Ben10'':
** Kevin, aka "Kevin 11". Only a little in his first appearance, but more and more each time he shows up. He starts as a sociopathic kid a little older than Ben with the ability to absorb energy. He absorbs energy from the Omnitrix twice in his debut episode, each time transforming him halfway into one of Ben's alien forms. By the time he resurfaces in his second episode, he's all alien, and can change between them, but can't stay human very long. At the end of that episode, he winds up as a freaky hybrid, incorporating a little bit of human form and aspects of all 10 original aliens, and from then on he's stuck that way.
** Gwen also became a ''Good'' Counterpart to [[BlackMagicianGirl Charmcaster]] after stealing her spellbook and using it to learn magic.
** In ''[[WesternAnimation/Ben10AlienForce Alien Force]]'', Kevin pulls a HeelFaceTurn and gets his own Evil Counterpart as a result, Mike Morningstar/Darkstar, who also has energy absorption powers. Ben, in the meantime, gets a new Evil Counterpart in Albedo, who doubles as his EvilTwin.
** In ''[[WesternAnimation/Ben10UltimateAlien Ultimate Alien]]'', the explanation is finally given for Kevin's HeelFaceTurn and it just highlights how much new BigBad Aggregor is Kevin's Evil Counterpart. Both are Osmosians, and using their powers to absorb energy rather than matter is severely and rapidly damaging to an Osmosian's sanity. But while in between the original series and ''Alien Force'' Kevin struggled to overcome the induced sociopathic tendencies and (more or less) went straight after getting out of prison, Aggregor ''reveled'' in them because he was already evil from the start rather than being corrupted by accidental misuse of his powers.
** ''[[WesternAnimation/Ben10Omniverse Omniverse]]'' has Khyber's alien dog Zed who can transform into monstrous predators with the aid of the Nemetrix, a technological example of this trope to Ben's Omnitrix.
** [[MadScientist Dr. Psychobos]], the creator of the Nemetrix, acts as this to Azmuth, convinced that his race, the Cerebrocrustaceans, are intellectually superior to the Galvans. And [[MadScientist Albedo]] is still ''trying'' to be Azmuth's Evil Counterpart, but as Ben points out he doesn't actually have sufficient intelligence for that role.
** The [[WesternAnimation/Ben102016 reboot]] turns Kevin into a CompositeCharacter of him and Albedo with his own Omnitrix called the Antitrix, which is similar to Albedo's second Ultimatrix from ''Omniverse''. Like Albedo, the Antitrix turns Kevin into darker and stronger versions of Ben's aliens, but Kevin also gives them different names, usually edgier-sounding: Wreckingbolt for Cannonbolt, Thornblade for Wildvine, Undertow for Overflow, Dark Matter for Grey Matter, Quad Smack for Fourarms, Hot Shot for Heatblast, Crystal Fist for Diamondhead, Bootleg for Upgrade, Skunkmoth for Stinkfly, Rush for [=XLR8=], and Bashmouth for Rath.
* ''WesternAnimation/BlazeAndTheMonsterMachines'': Crusher to Blaze.
** Blaze is a bright heroic red while Crusher is a dark villainous blue.
** Both have a fire motif on their decals; however, Crusher's looks more like lightning bolt.
** Blaze is friendly, supportive, and always plays by the rules. Crusher is a narcissistic {{Jerkass}} who only thinks of himself and constantly cheats to win. Blaze is also TheAce and is adored by everyone, whereas Crusher is the ButtMonkey and his only friend is [[PublicHaterPrivateFan Pickle]].
* ''WesternAnimation/BobsBurgers'':
** {{Jerkass}} Jimmy Pesto is this to OnlySaneMan Bob. Where Bob is a good, supportive father and a really good chef, but a bad businessman, Jimmy is a good businessman but all of his food is frozen, and the little he actually does make tastes terrible, and he's generally a bad father, with Jimmy Jr. being particularly upset at him for not supporting his dancing passion, divorced from his wife and, secretly, a sex deviant.
** AlphaBitch Tammy Larson to the SociallyAwkwardHero Tina. Tina is a shy, boy crazy and nice girl. Tammy is every bit as boy crazy as Tina, but is not nice at all and often faces against her.
** TheSociopath Millie to {{Comedic Sociopath|y}} Louise. Millie has every bit of Louise's intelligence, resourcefulness and cunning, but has none of Louise's (guaranteedly weak) moral compass, or Louise's support network pushing her to do the right thing with her skills. While Louise likes to be alone or to be with her family, Millie will never leave her alone and is a StalkerWithoutACrush for her.
* ''WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommand'' has two: XL, the psychotic [[BetaTestBaddie prototype of XR]], and Warp Darkmatter, Buzz's ex-partner turned amoral mercenary.
** Gravitina is often cited as being an evil counterpart of Mira and many fans pointing to Torgue the bounty hunter as a counterpart for Booster.
* ''WesternAnimation/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers'':
** Captain Planet has a (created) evil counterpart in Captain Pollution, composed of the polluting powers of Super Radiation, Deforestation, Smog, Toxics, and Hate.
** Zarm is a villainous equivalent to Gaia, originally being a spirit of the Earth like her, but choosing to become much more malevolent and destructive.
* Season 3 of ''WesternAnimation/CarmenSandiego'' introduces The Troll, V.I.L.E.'s answer to [[MissionControl Player]] -- both are masters of HollywoodHacking, who use their technical skills to aid their respective side remotely.
* ''WesternAnimation/Castlevania2017'':
** {{Dracula}} is ultimately this for Trevor in that they have both become misanthropic as a direct result of the CorruptChurch wrongly prosecuting them and their loved ones; they're also both extremely cynical and hesitant to open up and show how compassionate they are on the inside. The difference is while Dracula goes on RoaringRampageOfRevenge at loss of his MoralityPet wife Lisa and turns into a mad DeathSeeker, Trevor, while jaded, manages to find the drive to be a hero thanks to Sypha. At the end of Season 2, the scene of Sypha urging Trevor to go with her, perfectly echoes Lisa urging Dracula to get out in the world at the start of the series. In Season 3, Trevor is darkly dressed and wears a black BadassCape making him look eerily similar to Drac.
** Unlike the games this is a DefiedTrope with [[{{Dhampyr}} Alucard]] and Dracula. Despite getting his nickname for seemly being his father's opposite, Lisa strove to raise her son to ''not'' be the antithesis of her husband. In fact, Alucard, despite being considered a MessianicArchetype by the Speakers, isn't too much better than his father; he wanted revenge for Lisa's death just as much as Dracula. Where the father and son really differed was Alucard wanted to narrow the scope to those directly responsible, while Dracula preferred to KillAllHumans. [[spoiler: After a HeelRealization and a MercyKill, Alucard becomes the owner of Dracula's castle in his father's place. At the end of the Season 3 Alucard has even started [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice planting his enemies on spikes]] outside his castle,]] just like dear old dad.
** More subtle example but Carmilla is actually the Evil Counterpart to Lisa, both are blue-eyed, red garbed, ambitious, determined, strong-willed and persuasive women. Both Lisa and Carmilla also willingly traveled to a vampire’s castle to seek betterment and knowledge, but while Lisa impressed Dracula making him fall in love and marry her, Carmilla on other hand... got turned into a vampire. Unlike Lisa, Carmilla is embittered, conveying, and cruel, along with a lust for power due to being enslaved for so long. It's telling that Carmilla writes off Dracula loving Lisa off as him "keeping a pet" and [[EvilCannotComprehendGood Carmilla can't understand why]] Dracula didn't just turn her into a vampire (like her) if he wanted to keep Lisa safe.
** Another subtle example would be Sypha and Lenore, both are redheaded, book smart, have magic powers, stronger than they look, and are attracted to a human man (Trevor and Hector) whom they sleep with. They both also get their respective love interests to open up and trust them, but while Sypha [[TrueLoveIsExceptional genuinely loves]] Trevor and sees him as an equal, [[spoiler: Lenore [[TheVamp uses]] Hector's sexual attraction to her to trick him and bind him to her will as she only sees him as a possession]].
* The ''WesternAnimation/ChalkZone'' episode "Reggie the Red" had Reggie Bullnerd find a piece of red chalk and end up in [=ChalkZone=]. Until the red chalk is eliminated, Reggie becomes an evil counterpart to series protagonist Rudy Tabootie by using the red chalk to cause misery and destruction when Rudy would use his magic chalk to instead solve the problems of the denizens of [=ChalkZone=] and save them from whatever threatens them.
* ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'': The Delightful Children are the Evil Counterparts of Sector V.
** This is [[InvertedTrope inverted]] in operation Z.E.R.O. when it's revealed that [[spoiler:they are the [[FallenHero fallen heroes]] of Sector Z]]. And they fight most of Sector V to [[spoiler:save]] the word from adult tyranny.[[spoiler:Talk about {{irony}}.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/DanVs'': In an inversion of this trope, Elise can be seen as a Good Counterpart to the VillainProtagonist, Dan. Both are [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]], [[TheCynic cynical]], [[TheTrickster deceptive]] {{Determinator}}s from [[AbusiveParents abusive families]] who are so vindictive that they can (and do) go to AxCrazy lengths to seek revenge on whatever has wronged them. In addition, both are associated with [[ExtremeDoormat Chris]] to the extent that they serve as VitriolicBestBuds to him. Elise has admitted that she actually enjoys some of Dan's revenge schemes. She even does the SkywardScream whenever something angers her, and in one episode literally participates in Dan's opening scream. The difference is that Dan is a misanthropic AntiRoleModel who can sometimes be a source of NightmareFuel, whereas Elise is the sanest of the three. Regarding Chris, Dan emphasizes the abuse while Elise emphasizes the caring.
* ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'':
** Vlad Plasmius became half-ghost as the result of a portal experiment by Danny's father Jack Fenton like Danny did, albeit having better mastery of his abilities due to having 20 years of experience. True to the trope, the NotSoDifferentRemark is one of Vlad's favourite tactics, leading to the expected denial from Danny.
** "The Ultimate Enemy" has the main villain being Dark Danny, who is [[FutureMeScaresMe Danny's evil future self]] from a BadFuture where Danny's friends and family died in a horrible accident, Vlad tried to help Danny get a normal life by removing his ghost half and the ghost half proceeded to merge with Vlad's ghost half and kill human Danny before becoming a bloodthirsty tyrant who spreads a swath of terror and destruction throughout Amity Park. Present Danny in the end averts the series of events that lead to him becoming Dark Danny and traps his evil future self in a Fenton Thermos, but the episode ends with an [[AbortedArc unresolved]] SequelHook where Dark Danny appears close to breaking free.
* ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'':
** Negaduck -- both versions, the first arguably moreso, as he is the the dark half of Darkwing's personality, given form after he is zapped by Megavolt's Tron Splitter device. He resolves to kill his Posiduck counterpart, so as to conquer the underworld undeterred. The second, from a MirrorUniverse, is no less evil, as he delights in the thought of murder, and at one point tries to destroy all of St. Canard in one fell swoop.
** There is another evil counterpart of Darkwing known as Darkwarrior Duck from a BadFuture. Gosalyn disappears when she accidentally hitches a ride with the time travel device that took her to Darkwarrior's time. The loss broke him so much that Darkwing started to take a much more [[KnightTemplar hardline stance towards fighting criminals]], running all of them out of town before turning Saint Canard into a full-fledged PoliceState where AllCrimesAreEqual.
* ''WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory''. Dexter and Dee Dee had Mandark and Lalavava.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Dinotrux}}'' has Ty Rux and his friend Revvit, to D-Structs and his servant Skrap-It.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheDragonPrince'': [[Characters/TheDragonPrinceViren Lord Viren]] is one to [[Characters/TheDragonPrinceCallum Prince Callum]] -- Both are mages (Viren a Dark Mage, Callum a Primal Mage) who are insecure about their place in the world. However, whereas Viren is a fan of using "creative" or expedient solutions to problems, such as Dark Magic, Callum utterly rejects this after using a Dark Magic spell once. Viren also uses and seeks out magic primarily to gain power, while Callum does so to protect and empower his friends and loved ones. Viren succumbs to his hatred of elves and dragons, while Callum learns to forgive and move past his hatred.
* In ''WesternAnimation/DragonsRidersOfBerk'' Hiccup is given one in the form of EgomaniacHunter and leader of the Berserker tribe Dagur the Deranged. Where Hiccup wants to befriend dragons, Dagur starts out wanting to simply hunt them before deciding he wants to use their power for himself and has his sights set on taking Toothless from Hiccup. Dagur's status as Hiccup's opposite is confirmed in "A View to a Skrill, Part 2" when [[spoiler:he forces the captured Skrill to attack Alvin the Treacherous against its will.]]
** Another example would be Viggo Grimborn, the leader of the Dragon Hunters as an evil counterpart to Hiccup, especially [[spoiler:after Dagur's HeelFaceTurn]]. Viggo is also incredibly savvy of dragon behavior and an expert on dragons but, unlike Hiccup, his goal is to use this knowledge to, well, hunt dragons for profit. The Dragon Hunters are also kind of an evil counterpart to the Dragon Riders of Berk as a group.
** Alvin the Treacherous is an evil version of Stoick: Both are strong, competent leaders and viking warriors, albeit in different sides of the moral allegiance. They even look similar.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheDreamstone'' utilizes a non character example, instead one of the title MacGuffin. The Nightmare Stone, much like the Dreamstone is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin, a magical gem able to send nightmares to sleeping residents while fending off good dreams. In another reversal, the heroes are made to steal the Nightmare Stone from the villains much like the latter try to steal the Dreamstone throughout the series.
** For a character-based example Zordrak may be this to the Dream Maker, an intelligent and highly powerful sorcerer who uses his power to send dreams to the world around him and watches over a population of somewhat loyal bumbling creatures. In contrast to the benevolent Dream Maker however, Zordrak is a BadBoss vehement on conquest and spreading nightmares.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'': Just like in the comics, Flintheart Glomgold is designed as Evil Counterpart for Scrooge [=McDuck=], being [[AlwaysSecondBest the second-richest duck in the world]] behind Scrooge. Where Scrooge made his money fair and square as an [[HonestCorporateExecutive honest]] SelfMadeMan who runs a financial empire, Flintheart is a conman and CorruptCorporateExecutive. Additionally to his traits from the comics [[AdaptationalNationality this version of Glomgold even is Scottish]], just like Scrooge.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017'':
** The reboot takes it even further, as Flintheart designed himself as Scrooge's Evil Counterpart for Scrooge, as [[spoiler:he's really Duke Balony who was given a dime by Scrooge in his youth and failed betrayed by him]]. He now obsessivly wants to proof to the whole world he's a far better business man - and more Scottish - than Scrooge. [[spoiler:[[{{Fauxreigner}} It turns out he's not really Scottish, but South-African]]]].
** Steelbeak is one for Launchpad [=McQuack=]: Both are the DumbMuscle [[TheBigGuy Big Guys]] in their respective teams, F.O.W.L. and the [=McDuck=]-family. But while Launchpad is a NiceGuy, Steelbeak is a {{Narcissist}}ic minion.
* On ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'',
** Timmy might have three: Remy Buxaplenty, Mr. Crocker, and his imaginary friend Gary. Remy is a rich kid with a fairy godparent and Crocker had fairies (Cosmo and Wanda) [[spoiler:until [[StableTimeLoop Timmy caused them to be revealed when he went back in time]]]]. Timmy has had moments of commonality with Remy and Crocker before. Gary is a stereotypical cool kid similar in build to Timmy, who can also make Cosmo and Wanda grant wishes for him due to originating from Timmy's psyche.
** The fairies have these in the form of the anti-fairies and pixies, but the anti-fairies are the true Evil Counterparts, as they are [[PaletteSwap the Fairies with blue skin, pointy ears, and fangs]], and taken further with [[EnfantTerrible Foop]], who is cube-shaped.
** The Crimson Chin has The Nega-Chin, who is a parody of {{Evil Twin}}s and [[EvilKnockoff Knockoffs]] in fiction.
* {{Subverted|Trope}} in an episode of ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'', where Mac's BigBrotherBully Terrence attempts to make his own imaginary friend to deal with Bloo, who constantly manages to humiliate and outsmart him whenever he starts picking on Mac. Not only is he square in contrast to Bloo's round, blob-like appearance, he's red and, appropriately, named Red. It's subverted, though, in that, despite being made to be an Evil Counterpart to take on Bloo, Bloo easily outsmarts and humiliates him at every turn, and once he begins to realize Red isn't that bad a guy after he pushes his pranking too far, offers to be friends with him. Red quickly realizes that GoodFeelsGood and starts going after ''[[HoistByHisOwnPetard Terrence]]'' for picking on Mac. All in all, he's arguably a nicer imaginary friend than Bloo himself!
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'', Fry assumes that the character Flexo is this to Bender but his jealousy blinds him to the fact that it's [[SubvertedTrope actually]] [[InvertedTrope the other way around]].
-->'''Fry:''' How can I live my life if I can't even tell good from evil?\
'''Bender:''' [[{{Jerkass}} Eh, they're both fine choices. Whatever floats your boat.]]
* [[SdrawkcabName Thailog]] of ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' is an Evil Counterpart to both [[TheHero Goliath]] ''and'' [[MagnificentBastard Xanatos]], ironically enough. He's Goliath's evil clone, but he also embodies the depths of evil of which Xanatos would become capable if he lost the last threads holding him to his humanity. Both characters see Thailog as one of their most dangerous enemies, if not the most.
** Appropriately, in a later appearance he and Demona make clones of the rest of the Manhattan Clan to serve as ''their'' Evil Counterparts; as a joke, they're all named after places in L.A., to contrast the heroes' New York names. Thailog also secretly made a clone to be his new mate, mixing DNA from both [[BadassNormal Elisa]] ''and'' [[BigBad Demona]], Goliath's current and former LoveInterests.
* ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'':
** Gideon is this to both Dipper and Stan; he has knowledge of the supernatural and a desire to unlock the secrets of the town comparable to Dipper, and he and Stan are both [[ConMan con men]] [[spoiler: while both also having links to the genuine paranormal]], but where Stan is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, Gideon is a psychopathic SmallTownTyrant bent on taking over the town.
** WordOfGod said Pacifica was written to have a personality opposite to that of Mabel. In the second season, she goes through massive CharacterDevelopment, even becoming an ImpliedLoveInterest for Dipper.
* The [[WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget2015 2015 Inspector Gadget cartoon]] has a new character named Talon, who is an evil counterpart to Penny. Penny is a very intelligent girl who aids her Uncle Gadget while Talon is the nephew of Dr. Claw and uses his genius to help his evil uncle in his schemes.
* ''WesternAnimation/IronManArmoredAdventures'':
** Justin Hammer is an evil reflection of Tony -- similar origins (though with a lot more ambiguity on Justin's part), similar roles in lives, both young men who are (or will in Tony's case), heading incredibly huge companies. Thanks to these, Justin sees himself and Tony as almost kindred spirits. Tony does not agree. [[spoiler:Hammer intentionally invokes this with Titanium Man, which he had built specifically to be superior to Iron Man.]] They're even visually opposite each other, Tony's dark hair and coloration contrasting with Justin's [[LightIsNotGood blond hair and light clothing]].
** Hammer's secretary Sasha is basically an older Platinum-blonde version of Pepper.
** [[spoiler:The Living Laser]] has his good and evil sides split after he's brought back to life, resulting in the good one needing Tony's help to rejoin with the bad one.
* ''WesternAnimation/IvanhoeTheKingsKnight'' features two:
** Deirdre to Rebecca. Rebecca is a maiden and Deirdre is a crone, they are both wise in the ways of medicines, potions and the like with Deirdre being wise when it comes to the occult and both are presumably the only non-Saxon/Norman of their group. Rebecca, while never stated, is Jewish and Deirdre, if her name is any indication but considering Gawain is a Saxon she might not be, is Celtic.
** Prince John is also one to King Richard, no better shown than in "A Friend in Need" where a peasant says that there were "fewer taxes under good King Richard."
* ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'': [[EvilSorcerer Daolon Wong]] is this to [[OldMaster Uncle]]. They're both old and experienced Chinese chi wizards with a no-nonsense attitude that makes them berate verbally and physically their younger comrades/subordinates. They're both also [[GrumpyOldMan grouchy]] and at least somewhat [[TechnologicallyBlindElders out of touch with modern technology]]. This in {{lampshade|Hanging}}d InUniverse by Jade often calling Wong "the anti-Uncle". Once Wong himself lampshades this to Uncle when he needed his nemesis' presence in order to invoke a spell.
-->'''Daolon Wong''': It would appear you are the appropriate Yin to my Yang, good wizard.
** [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Hak Foo]] to [[TheBigGuy Tohru]] after the latter [[HeelFaceTurn reforms]]. Even in Hak Foo's debut episode, in which Tohru is still a Dark Hand Enforcer, the [[LargeHam hammy]] master martial artist is presented as a more brutal and less intelligent version of the reserved sumo.
** If Jade has any EvilCounterpart, it would be [[DraconicHumanoid Drago]]. They're both the youngest members of their respective sides who might seem at first glance the most harmless ones. They're [[HotBlooded reckless]], [[DeadpanSnarker sharp-tongued]] and rebellious, yet also more flexible thinkers than their elders. They have potential in a variety of skills (like martial arts, stealth, magic and leadership), and despite their rebelliousness, they want their achievements to be acknowledged by their elders (namely [[HeroHarassesHelpers Jackie]] and [[WellDoneSonGuy Shendu]]).
** In the episode, "The J-Tots", Bartholomew Chang assembles a group of criminals that are meant to be this to the J-Team. Jackie's counterpart is Tommy Chung, one of China's most wanted and a deadly martial artist. El Toro Fuerte's counterpart is Bob "The Bopper" Halfcock, an American pro wrestler. Tohru's counterpart is Helga Sorenson, the world's strongest woman. Viper's counterpart is Phillip Crane, a fellow master thief.
* In ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'', [[BigBad Dr. Drakken]] and [[TheDragon Shego]] are this to [[TheHero Kim]] and [[BumblingSidekick Ron]].
** Drakken and Kim are both proactive and driven go-getters while being stubborn and with a need for control (compare Drakken's management of henchmen and determination for world domination to Kim doing something for school or saving the world) while having sidekicks who are much more laidback.
** Kim and Shego are both powerful and clever young women who also have a taste for fashion, often annoyed by their brothers, and have a close relationship with a more bumbling male. Shego also used to be a teen hero herself.
** Drakken and Ron are both dorky and goofy guys who are partnered with smart and powerful women. Though they themselves are not particularly good fighters and typically leave the fighting to their female companions, they can be just as if not more dangerous under the right circumstances (such as Drakken's near-success in TheMovie and Ron's hidden potential.)
** Ron and Shego are both more laid-back than their driven and proactive partners, content with [[TheSlacker kicking back and relaxing]], whether it's Ron chilling or Shego sunbathing. They tend to be bothered whenever their downtime is disturbed, but when they need to get up and do what they need to, they're always there. Additionally, both of them are fine with following their partners, yet at the same time have shown just as much, if not more, potential greatness. Shego once conquered the world, and whenever Ron is turned evil, he becomes a manically laughing but surprisingly and ruthlessly clever villain who is capable of frightening Shego into compliance.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'', the titular protagonist is pitted against various antagonists that reflect her in some fashion.
** Unalaq ''literally'' becomes Korra's evil counterpart [[spoiler:by fusing with a spirit as the Avatar]].
*** [[spoiler:The spirit in question, Vaatu is this to Raava, the spirit fused with Korra.]]
** The final ArcVillain of the series, Kuvira. WordOfGod even describes it as Korra, post-CharacterDevelopment, having to fight a past version of herself. (Though one notable difference: Kuvira is TheStoic while early Korra was HotBlooded.)
** Baatar Jr. serves as this to Asami; both betrayed their families over ideological differences, both are skilled engineers and pilots, and both, non-benders and both are the love interest of a powerful bender who is trying to bring Balance/Order to the world. However, where Asami is often shown as being kind and selfless, Baatar Jr. is shown to be rather self-centered and far more violent.
** Though much younger, Zaheer is the counterpart to Tenzin. Both are skilled Airbenders (though Zaheer [[EmpoweredBadassNormal wasn't at first]]) and very dedicated to the Air Nomad way of life, but while Tenzin used that as a basis to become a ReasonableAuthorityFigure, Zaheer interprets the philosophy to form a group of BombThrowingAnarchists.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLionGuard'':
** Just as Scar was one for Simba in ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994'' (see [[EvilCounterpart/AnimatedFilms here]]), he's also one to Kion, representing what Kion [[ShadowArchetype can become]] if he let his anger, self-doubts, and envy consume him to the point he becomes power-hungry. Kion often fears he'll end up like Scar, hence why he frequently regulates the use of [[MightyRoar the Roar of the Elders]], having been made aware that Scar was stripped of the Roar for destroying his own Lion Guard when they refused to help him overthrow Mufasa. [[spoiler:Some scenes in Season 3 of ''The Lion Guard'' even depict Scar [[TheCorrupter actively attempting]] to corrupt Kion.]]
** Ushari is one to Zazu. Both are the ServileSnarker sidekicks of the lions they serve (Mufasa and Scar) and suffer comical abuse. Though while Zazu remains loyal to Mufasa even after Scar killed him and forced him to be his court jester, Ushari snaps after suffering too much abuse from the Guard and aids Janja and his Hyena clan in reviving Scar, eventually becoming his right hand man. Hell, a python was originally going to be Scar's sidekick in ''The Lion King'', before it became Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed.
* ''WesternAnimation/MenInBlackTheSeries'':
** Alpha is an evil counterpart of K. Both are veteran agents and both have a wide knowledge of alien life forms and biology, but Alpha used his for his own benefits to become superhuman and immortal with no moral or ethical restraints of any sort.
** The Fmeks are the evil counterpart of the Arquilians; both are small {{Lilliputian|s}} aliens, but whilst the Arquilians are pacifists, the Smecs are sociopathic warriors with a [[TheNapoleon Napoleonic Complex]].
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Metajets}}'', The Stunt-Hawks are a trio of criminals flying newer, more advanced transforming jets designed by the same man who designed the good Metajets.
* Tooley to Texas in ''{{WesternAnimation/Motorcity}}''. "Threat Level: Texas!" has the two of them interacting for most of the episode('s real time). Kaia is this to Mike, as they both want to stop Kane, but Kaia is willing to harm innocent people in the process. During the MushroomSamba of "Mayhem Night", Mike sees a literal evil version of himself, possibly as a reminder of his past working for Kane.
* In ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeAsATeenageRobot'', the Lonely Hearts Club gang for Sheldon. The former cause trouble because they were [[FreudianExcuse rejected by the woman they loved]]. Sheldon was himself ''brutally'' rejected by Jenny, and was even offered membership, but still chose to save Jenny from them.
** Jenny has one in Misty. They both consider themselves to be outcasts, but Jenny’s friends and family inspire her to use her powers for good, while Misty uses her powers for evil since she has no friends or family.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'':
** [[GreenEyedMonster Nightmare]] [[FallenAngel Moon]] in the pilot is this to [[TheHighQueen Princess]] [[BigGood Celestia]], [[AnthropomorphicPersonification Discord]] in the second season premiere is a character-to-MacGuffin example to the Elements of Harmony, [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Queen]] [[TheFairFolk Chrysalis]] in the second season finale to Princess Cadence, and Trixie to lead protagonist Twilight Sparkle when [[DrunkOnTheDarkSide under the effects]] of an ArtifactOfDoom.
** In Season 3 there's Lightning Dust, who's like Rainbow Dash, just a little bit more reckless in her quest to become the best flier in Equestria.
** In Season 4, there's Suri Polomare, an evil counterpart to Rarity. Both wish to make a name for themselves in the world of fashion, but while Rarity is known for her generosity, Suri is selfish and manipulative. She sucks up to Rarity just long enough to take advantage of her generosity and is more than willing to lie, cheat, and steal in pursuit of fame.
** ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls'' gives us Sunset Shimmer, a former student of Princess Celestia. Unlike Trixie, Sunset is actually a perfect counterpart to Twilight as Sunset couldn't give two flips about studying, believed herself to be superior, would go so far as to use underhanded tricks to shatter friendships and ruin other people's fun for her own sake. [[spoiler:Oh, and turning into a [[OneWingedAngel friggin' demon]] might have a factor in this.]]
*** Ironically, in ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsRainbowRocks'', Sunset herself would gain one after [[HeelFaceTurn changing her ways]], in the form of Adagio Dazzle. Adagio is basically every bit as selfish, cruel, and power-hungry as Sunset was, only she has none of the few redeeming traits Sunset had, and the talent to be a threat rather than the local high school bully.
*** In ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsFriendshipGames'', the Shadowbolts of Crystel Prep are this to the Wondercolts of Canterlot High, having the same competitive edge, but none of the team spirit. After the ACADECA, Sunset gets a warm congratulations from her teammates despite losing, while Human Twilight gets little more than half-hearted applause, despite winning.
*** Abacus Cinch, Crystal Prep's principal, is this to both Princess and Principal Celestia. While the latter two care about the people (or ponies) under their charge, Cinch sees her students as tools to victory. While Princess Celestia has guided Princess Twilight to the path of good, Cinch blackmailed Human Twilight into serving her ends, [[spoiler:and later forced her to unleash her collected magic, which turned Twilight into a dangerous, cosmic-level threat]]. Fortunately, at the end of the movie, [[spoiler:Cinch loses all influence she had over Twilight, who proceeds to start a new, better life in Canterlot High]].
** Twilight gains another one in Season 5 named [[DarkMagicalGirl Starlight Glimmer]]. Both seek to spread friendship across the land, but Twilight offers genuine friendship while Starlight offers a false one through brainwashing. Twilight studies and trains to overcome her limitations and encourages others to do their best, while Starlight became bitterly jealous of others and so found a spell that can take away the talents of others, so nopony can ever be better than her. While Twilight became a new Princess of Friendship in Equestria, Starlight became a sociopathic dictator in a FalseUtopia town, with aspirations to take her message [[TodayXTomorrowTheWorld outside of her town]]. It also reflects in their backstories. Twilight Sparkle has had friends, social status, and guidance since youth and had the benefit of being a magical prodigy mentored under the tutelage of Princess Celestia, not to mention her ''special cutie mark connection'' with the other Mane Five. Starlight Glimmer on the other hand, has had [[DarkAndTroubledPast no such fortune whatsoever]]. As a filly, Starlight had minimal guidance, no special cutie mark connection and in fact suffered a ''broken'' friendship due to her closest friend ''receiving his cutie mark'', and was forced to have pretty much spend most of her life [[FriendlessBackground alone]], which [[StartOfDarkness led]] to her increasing bitterness and hatred towards cutie marks and talents. It's even lampshaded when the two meet, as Starlight becomes increasingly [[GreenEyedMonster jealous]] and [[TheResenter resentful]] of Twilight's talent and fortune, to the point where Starlight develops a personal vendetta against Twilight and her friends that [[RevengeBeforeReason grew even stronger]] after the Season 5 premiere. [[spoiler: Twilight Sparkle [[SympathyForTheDevil understood Starlight's plight]] and takes it upon herself to befriend Starlight and teach her about Friendship as her own mentor.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'':
** [[Characters/TheOwlHouseAmityBlight Amity Blight]] has Boscha; Amity was never a true jerk like Boscha was and never wanted to be mean. She was only forced to be friends with Boscha at the request of her parents. She also only used the facade to cover up her insecurities and is mistreated by her mother. Unlike Boscha, who appears to have always been mean.
** [[Characters/TheOwlHouseLuzNoceda Luz Noceda]] and the gang are similar to [[Characters/TheOwlHouseEmperorBelos Emperor Belos]] and his [[Characters/TheOwlHouseTheEmperorsCoven Emperor's Coven]]:
*** Like Luz, [[Characters/TheOwlHouseTheGoldenGuard The Golden Guard]] comes off as playful and easy-going despite working under the Emperor. He also found King oddly endearing much like how Luz's first response to seeing the "king of demons" was to glomp him.
*** Eda Clawthorne and Belos both function as mentors to their students and are known as some of the most powerful witches on the Boiling Isles. However, Belos strictly believes in quashing anything that does not conform to his order whereas Eda believes in individuality and little restrictions on magic.
*** Kikimora and King. They are both the smallest members of their teams, and are demons (or at least less humanoid in appearance, as Kikimora is able to cast spells unlike King).
** [[Recap/TheOwlHouseS2E12ElsewhereAndElsewhen "Elsewhere and Elsewhen"]] gives Luz an even stronger one in the form of [[spoiler:Philip Wittibane/[[TwoAliasesOneCharacter Emperor Belos]]. They're both humans that ended up trapped in the Boiling Isles and seek to find a way home. But while Luz is kind and empathetic, and loves the Isles and only seeks to return home to reunite with her mother, having even found love with a witch, Philip is manipulative and selfish, willing to sacrifice his "companions" at the drop of a hat if he thinks it will benefit him, and hates witches. Philip even notes that it took years for him to track down the glyphs, almost as if something was trying to keep him from finding them, while Luz found all four in a matter of weeks]].
** Emperor Belos
*** To Eda. They are both mentors to young witches and are known as two of the most powerful witches on the Boiling Isles. However, while Eda advocates for freedom and individuality, Belos enforces conformity through his coven system. [[spoiler:"Hunting Palismen" reveals that he also is struggling to control a mysterious magical affliction that is gradually turning him into a monster. However, unlike Eda his method of controlling it involves killing Palismen to absorb their wild magic.]] They're also both famously powerful witches who have both taken [[spoiler: magicless]] prodigies under their wing, forming close bonds with them in the process. But while Eda is highly supportive of Luz and promises to be with her on any path she chooses, Belos is [[spoiler:a far harsher taskmaster, forbidding Hunter from studying wild magic and keeping a very unequal balance of power between the two of them]]. [[spoiler:In season two, both Eda and Belos manage to get better control of their afflictions in a mental realm, but while Eda managed to gain a better understanding of the Owl Beast and come to an agreement after Hooty sends her into her dreams, Belos deliberately seeks out and destroys the embodiment of the Palismen souls that he's consumed.]]
*** To Luz Noceda. [[spoiler:Both are humans who got trapped in the Demon Realm, adapted to living there, learned magic, and gained a mentor of sorts in Eda and the Collector respectively. In "Hollow Mind", Belos even uses the same line that Luz had used earlier ("Can't reason with crazy"). Both have an impact on the society of the Boiling Isles, be it by making it a crueler and more Social Darwinist in Belos' case or bringing out the best in the people around them in Luz'. Luz is a WideEyedIdealist who genuinely loves and wishes to learn magic, whereas Belos is a cruel and tyrannical man who uses magic as a means to an end to ''wipe it all out''.]]
** [[Characters/TheOwlHouseTheCollector The Collector]] is one to King; both are deceptively powerful beings who are described/implied to be the youngest of their races, since King is baby Titan and the Collector is specifically a "Child from the Stars". Both also have close relationships to powerful magic users, Eda and Belos, but the latter proved that the Collector was nothing but a stepping stone, whilst Eda loves King like her own child. And whilst King slowly begins to mature and does so even after discovering he's essentially a demigod, the Collector seems dead-set in his sociopathically childish ways, even after it likely got him centuries of imprisonment.
* In an episode of ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'', the titular boys compete with a pair of similar kids named Thaddeus and Thor. They're not evil, per se, but Thaddeus at least is a {{Jerkass}} compared to [[CheerfulChild Phineas]].
* ''Franchise/ThePowerpuffGirls'':
** The main girls themselves has ''three'' examples:
*** The Rowdyruff Boys are a group of little boys with the same powers but the opposite morality, and were created by Mojo Jojo from snips, snails, and puppy dog tails.
*** Princess Morbucks, to each of the girls individually and as a group—as a group, she's essentially a character who desires their powers (and sometimes gets them or finds some way of copying them), yet has no qualities that make her worthy of them. After her first appearance, she even dresses like them most of the time.
*** While Blossom can be bossy and vain at times, she's much more compassionate and has more competence as a leader and is much more of a FieryRedhead than an EvilRedhead like Princess is.
*** Buttercup can be insensitive and short-tempered to boot and so is Princess, but Buttercup displays great bravery and courage along with a will to help others and a nicer side to her personality, unlike Princess who's a coward with no empathy for anyone other than herself.
*** While both Bubbles and Princess are very girly and feminine, Bubbles (like Blossom) is much more compassionate than Princess and is more SpoiledSweet while Princess is just a condescending SpoiledBrat.
** Dick Hardly is one for Professor Utonium, being little more than a sleazy money-grubbing scientist who made knockoffs of the Powerpuff Girls with no legitimate love for them.
* ''WesternAnimation/RobotChicken'':
** Parodied in one sketch with "Negative Franchise/WonderWoman". The most evil thing she does in the sketch involves merely robbing a bank, but she does make herself known to act cruder than the real Wonder Woman. As for costume, since Wonder Woman's leotard leaves her arms and legs exposed, but covers up certain feminine parts, Negative Wonder Woman wears an outfit that covers up her arms and legs, but leaves those feminine parts exposed.
** The Robot Chicken himself gets one in the form of an evil cybernetic rooster named Darkmeat, created by the son of the MadScientist who experimented on the titular character.
* ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'': The episode "Jack versus Mad Jack" deals with Jack's inner rage building to a peak when he gets bombarded by nearly a dozen bounty hunters. Aku, watching Jack's anger boil, sees that his fury is powerful in its own right and decides to manifest an evil duplicate called Mad Jack to turn it against him. However, Jack soon discovers that Mad Jack's existence is tied to the rage that currently resides in him, so Jack takes a second to cool his head and purge his mind of that rage, which wipes Mad Jack from existence.
* ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated'' posits that there was a group of teen mystery busters before Scooby and his crew (also called Mystery Inc.), and their team mascot was a parrot named Professor Pericles. When the Gang learned that Conquistadors left a treasure in their hometown of Crystal Cove and clues to finding it, Pericles became corrupted and struck a deal with a team member, only to be double-crossed and committed to an asylum. In contrast to Scooby -- a dimwitted but lovable animal companion known for his unfailing loyalty -- Pericles is ''frighteningly'' intelligent, but also entirely amoral, and he's more than willing to stab his friends in the back to make his visions come true.
** The PosthumousCharacter Abigail Gluck is framed as an EvilCounterpart to Velma, taking her famous intelligence and social awkwardness to chilling levels. She served as {{the smart g|uy}}irl of the Benevolent Lodge of Mystery in the 1880's, but was apparently just as amoral as Professor Pericles, devoting her scientific acumen to building deadly weapons of war in her old age -- and she may well have been involved with ''the Nazis'' at one point. [[note]] This being a kid's show, no one ever actually says "Nazis". But she's outright said to have built robotic soldiers in the 1930's, her robots wear UsefulNotes/WorldWarII-era German helmets, and they all have German names. Do the math.[[/note]] She apparently served as an EvilMentor to Pericles, and eventually secluded herself in an underwater base that she built herself, where she eventually died of old age -- alone and unmourned.
* From ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'', Maggie Simpson had her arch-nemesis Gerald the unibrow baby.
** Watch the episodes with Sideshow Bob and you'll realize he and Bart are more alike than either would care to admit. They're both manipulative, clever, and quite self-centered. The difference is that Bart is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold deep down and shows genuine remorse for his actions (when they go wrong), whilst Sideshow Bob only cares about accomplishing his goals and eliminates anyone who gets in his way.
** [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS6E7BartsGirlfriend Jessica Lovejoy]] is also one to Bart. While Bart is openly a troublemaker, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold he also has moments of sympathy and morality]]. Jessica, however, [[BitchInSheepsClothing hides behind an image of being the pure-hearted]] Reverend's daughter, while acting in ways that horrify even Bart.
** Bob is also an evil counterpart to Sideshow Mel. Both of them are refined Ivy League graduates who ended up becoming the ClassicallyTrainedExtra sidekick to Krusty the Clown, with both of them hating Krusty for his BadBoss nature. However, Mel is otherwise shown to be a decent guy in spite of his less-than-favorable career, while Bob ended up framing Krusty for armed robbery in order to take over the show. This led Bob to ultimately go down the path of a criminal, while Mel keeps himself professional in spite of it all.
** Depending on the viewer, the Flanders are the "good" counterpart of the Simpsons themselves.
** Helen Lovejoy is shown to be this to Marge. Both are MoralGuardians, but while Marge really does want the best for everyone in the end, Helen [[ObnoxiousEntitledHousewife demands for things to be the way she likes]] in order to [[GossipyHens get as much dirt on others as possible]] and make people miserable for no reason other than [[ItAmusedMe because she wants to]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'':
** Homnibus is the good counterpart of Gargamel, being a good, lighthearted and kind wizard, friend of the smurfs.
** Gargamel himself can be considered an evil counterpart of Papa Smurf as they both are wizards but one uses his magic to help people and do good and the other for selfish and cruel reasons, they both are father figures for Smurfette and Sasette but one because is a gentle adoptive father and the other because is a negligent creator, they both have apprentices (Brainy and Scruple) but while Papa Smurf is a patient and wise teacher Gargamel mistreats and exploits Scruple, and they are both old for their respective species.
** Scruple could be considered an evil counterpart of several characters; of the Smurflings as he is a child version of Gargamel in a similar way how the Smurflings are child versions of adult Smurfs. Of Prince Gerald as Gerald is also a child who knows the existence of the Smurfs but is a kindhearted good boy. Of Denisa (Baltazar's niece) who is also a goodhearted sweet girl who befriends the Smurfs.
** Hogatha can be an evil counterpart for Smurfette as both are interested in improving their look and look pretty, but while Smurfette antics always cause unintentional damage, Hogatha is outright sadistic and indifferent to others suffering.
* ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars'':
** Asajj Ventress is this to Anakin. They both used to be slaves on a remote CrapsackWorld, have been rescued by a Jedi, who were considered somewhat "rogues" by others, both of their rescuers died, and both of them became the apprentices of a Sith Lord. Interesting to note, that while Anakin started slipping closer and closer to the Dark Side in Season 4, she seems to have started to work on a HeelFaceTurn at the end of the same season.
** To a lesser extent, Ventress is a counterpart to Ahsoka as well: both of their masters were Jedi who fell to Dark Side, both of them strove to prove themselves worthy of their respective masters, they both started by using a single green-bladed ligthsaber, and picked up DualWielding later, and finally the way the Jedi Council abandoned Ahsoka under pressure from the Senate, eerily resembles to how Dooku betrayed Ventress on Sidious's order. [[NotSoDifferentRemark They have even come to realize that they have a lot in common]].
** Darth Maul served as evil version of both Obi-Wan and Anakin.
*** To Anakin Skywalker (pre-FaceHeelTurn) -- Both were slaves as children and then passed down to be taught the ways of the Force; both are incredibly skilled and powerful at a young age; both form master-apprentice and brotherly relationships with another (Obi-Wan with Anakin and Savage with Maul); both were nearly killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi and restored to life using machinery; and finally, both are cast aside by Darth Sidious in favor of another potential apprentice (Maul for Anakin, and Anakin for Luke).
*** More significantly, Maul became an evil version of [[ArchEnemy Obi-Wan Kenobi]]. Like Kenobi, Maul is a skilled tactician and swordsman, has a dry sense of humor, and harbors a brotherly relationship with an apprentice who was lost to Darth Sidious (Obi-Wan in a [[FallenHero metaphorical]] fashion, Maul in a [[CharacterDeath literal]] one).
** The Daughter and the Son are respectively the embodiments of the Light, and {{The Dark Side}}s of the Force.
* In ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels'', Darth Maul has become this to Ahsoka. Both were former members of one of the great orders of Force-users who left after a betrayal and no longer consider themselves to be a member of the order, yet are still similar enough in outlook to their former order to be considered a member by other people. They also both express the philosophy that "to defeat your enemy, you must understand/know them", and both got at least part of the lightsabers they wield from an Inquisitor they defeated. Maul himself calls attention to this when he's trying [[WeCanRuleTogether to recruit her]] during "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS7E10ThePhantomApprentice The Phantom Apprentice]]".
* In ''WesternAnimation/StanLeesSuperheroKindergarten'', the Academy for Superior Children teaches four supervillains, who have powers and personalities to counter the heroes.
* In ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'', [[Characters/StevenUniverseJasper Jasper]] to [[Characters/StevenUniverseAmethyst Amethyst]]. Both are hot-blooded, rude, brash, rely on brute strength, and love to fight. But while Amethyst loves to goof off and has love and compassion for others, Jasper exists to fight, is always serious, and doesn't get the importance of love. She also shares Amethyst's hair style and is physically similar to her, but larger, and they both attack with a spin dash. To further push the matter, Jasper is colored orange, complementary to Amethyst's purple. "Too Far" reveals that Amethyst is a Quartz Gem like Jasper, with Jasper representing what a successful Kindergarten Gem should look like. By contrast, Amethyst is an "overcooked runt" that stayed in the ground too long, hence her short stature and comparatively weaker abilities. This comes to a head in "Crack the Whip", where they finally fight. Jasper, thanks to a combination of training and her superior capabilities, beats her down easily. "Beta" takes this even further by revealing [[spoiler:that Jasper was also made on Earth, in the Beta Kindergarten. All the other holes are misshapen while hers is the only one that's perfect.]] And while Amethyst sees Jasper as her Arch-Enemy, Jasper views her as an embarrassment.
* A recurring nemesis for the ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' across several cartoon continuities is Slash, a humanoid turtle much like them. While usually more of an AntiHero or misguided than outright evil, he still usually starts as a direct antagonist. His appearance is often warped compared to the Turtles, usually appearing wider and bulkie, and having a spiked shell, emphasizing his brutal berserker nature and strength compared to the Turtles' use of teamwork and skill.
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003'':
** Red X to Robin, although Red eventually was more of a "[[WildCard Morally Ambigious]] Counterpart".
** Blackfire to Starfire. Similar everything, but Blackfire lost any conscience she had long ago, while Star is often overly bound by conscience.
** WordOfGod says they designed Slade to be an evil version of Batman, though Batman himself never appears in the series (except possibly once, in silhouette).
** From a team standpoint, the HIVE are the evil counterparts to the Titans, at least before they became {{Flanderiz|ation}}ed into joke villains. Brother Blood doesn't start out as an Evil Counterpart to his ArchEnemy Cyborg, but becomes such during the events of the third season finale.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'', the arrogant upper-class Perfecto Prep students Roderick and Rhubella Rat (no relation), Danforth Drake and Margot Mallard are this to Babs and Buster, Plucky and Shirley, respectively. Especially in their role as the OpposingSportsTeam, which almost always sets each of them opposite their Acme Loo counterpart (for instance, a football game with Buster and Roderick as team captains and Babs and Rhubella as head cheerleaders; or a synchronised swimming event with Babs and Shirley versus Rhubella and Margot).
* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'':
** Chris [=McLean=] is this to Don. While Don wants everyone to play fair and be more faithful to the rules, Chris always changes rules at every twist and turn, resulting in some unfair losses and eliminations. It is worth noting in the later seasons, Chris becomes more sociopathic at the turn of each season. As if Chris' prison experience at the end of Season 4 (''Revenge of the Island'') did not make him better. After Chris was let out of prison in time for ''All-Stars'' and ''Pahkitew Island'', Chris' behavior became worse. As for Don, while the poster man of a hedonistic host who prefers fair play, he is not as sadistic as Chris. Don is even willing to double check the challenges to ensure it is safe, even if some of them are dangerous (i.e. the Botch or Watch in the Mediterranean, or the Either/Or in Dubai).
** [[Characters/TotalDramaHeather Heather]] is one to Gwen in unmitigated spades. Both of them start off as loners, and quickly develop an antagonistic relationship with Chris. Both are beautiful females who attract plenty of interest from the opposite sex. However, Heather is a representation of everything that Gwen is absolutely not, especially in Island. Gwen is a loner by voluntary choice, and generally minds her own choices. Heather, by contrast, winds up a loner because of her abuse of her allies. Gwen, despite having a cynical and snarky side, genuinely cares for her friends, and won't hesitate to risk losing the challenge to help them. Heather puts on a nice facade, but the friendship she offers is false, and backstabs them once they are no longer needed. Gwen is shown to accomplish most of her victories on her own merit, while Heather relies on her allies, and all of her individual wins are through sheer luck. Gwen is adamant on winning the competition fairly, even against friends. Heather will not hesitate to cheat to win. Gwen is shown in both her online biographies and the video message from her family to have a good relationship with her family, while Heather has a dysfunctional one. Gwen's relationships with Trent and Duncan were healthy, and they failed because of odd actions on Trent and Duncan's side. Heather's relationship with Alejandro swings from one pendulum to the next. In other words, Heather represents everything that Gwen appears to be, but is not.
** [[Characters/TotalDramaDuncan Duncan]] is this to Trent. While Duncan is not exactly evil, there are some distinctions between him and Trent. Trent seems to get along very well with most of the contestants (even the ones he dislikes), Duncan easily makes enemies (especially Harold, who is involved in a band with Trent). While Trent's relationship with Gwen became unhealthy at the start of the second season, Duncan's was healthier in the third season. Even though Trent threw challenges for Gwen to prove his love for her, Duncan will stop at nothing to cheat (which was evident in some episodes, including "The Princess Pride").
** Amy and Samey are this to Katie and Sadie. Both knew each other before the show, dress the same, have similar names and are treated by everyone as TheDividual. But Katie and Sadie are HeterosexualLifePartners who are TheDividual because they enjoy each others company so much, whereas Amy is a [[BigBrotherBully Big Sister Bully]] who copies everything Samey does in order to outshine her and take away any individuality she tries to gain to ensure she always be the more popular of the two. Even their similar names are invoked by an EmbarrassingNickname Amy gave her sister, whose actual name is Sammy. While treated as TheDividual they are actually PolarOppositeTwins. Even their titles demonstrate this, Katie and Sadie are [[NiceGirl "The Sweet Girl"]] and [[TrueCompanions "The Sweet Girls Friend"]] whereas they're [[SiblingYinYang "The Good Cheerleader Twin" and "The Evil Cheerleader Twin"]].
** Sugar and Ripper are these to Owen. The three of them are overweight teenagers that [[{{Gasshole}} have a tendency to fart a lot]], but whereas Owen is a nice and friendly person, Sugar and Ripper disregard those around them and treat their fellow campers rather poorly.
* ''WesternAnimation/TUFFPuppy'':
** The main villain Verminious Snaptrap easily qualifies as a villainous equivalent to Dudley Puppy due to both characters being very stupid and immature. Snaptrap and Dudley have even been established to both be {{Basement Dweller}}s.
** Recurring villain Bird Brain is an evil genius as well as a social outcast and the only known specimen of his kind, making him the evil counterpart to T.U.F.F.'s nerdy tech expert Keswick.
* Lotor's Robeast in ''Anime/{{Voltron}}: The Fleet of Doom'' is an Evil Counterpart to Lion Voltron and Vehicle Voltron.
** Dracotron in ''WesternAnimation/VoltronTheThirdDimension'', which is made up of 5 robot dragons, is an Evil Counterpart of Voltron.
** Likewise the Predator Robeast in ''WesternAnimation/VoltronForce'', a minotaur enhanced with a snake and dragon for arms (plus the dragon's wings), and a wolf and shark for legs.
** And again in ''WesternAnimation/VoltronLegendaryDefender'', where Lotor creates the Sincline trio of ships (and CombiningMecha) from the unique ore of a trans-dimensional comet, just as Allura's father King Alfor created Voltron from the same substance millenia ago. Sincline, however, is more technological in design, actually looking recognizably like spacecraft rather than being based on animals.
* ''WesternAnimation/WackyRaces'': Dick Dastardly is this to Peter Perfect. They both have names that are alliterations with the surname being a descriptor of their nature, the moral contrasts being that Peter Perfect is a selfless and noble man while Dick Dastardly is a CardCarryingVillain who frequently tries to cheat in the races.
* ''WesternAnimation/WinxClub'' 's Bloom somehow has ''two'' evil counterparts.
** The first, Icy, is a dark magical girl while Bloom is a magical girl, she is the leader of the Trix while Bloom is the leader of the Winx, and her powers are [[AnIcePerson ice]] while Bloom has fire powers.
** Valtor is the second; while his life is dissimilar to Bloom, he was created from a spark of Dragonfire, the entity that gives Bloom her powers, and their powers make them good-evil counterparts, while Lord Darkar's Shadowhaunt powers make him her opposite.
* Yuck from ''WesternAnimation/YinYangYo'' was formed accidentally by Yin and Yang's bad qualities, specifically Yin's [[ControlFreak obsession with control]] and Yang's [[HotBlooded aggression]]. He shows himself to be pretty [[ManipulativeBastard manipulative]] and an overall {{Jerkass}} compared to the two.
* ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010'': ''Phantoms'' sets Lady Shiva up to be one to Cheshire. Both are lethal DragonLady assassins who are also mothers. Coincidentally, Cheshire's voice actress Creator/KellyHu had voiced Shiva in [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOrigins previous adaptations]]. The difference is that Cheshire's love for her daughter was what caused her to renounce her ties to the League of Shadows and her absence from Lian's life was out of fear that her daughter might turn out like her, while Shiva sees her own daughter as nothing more than a killing machine for the Shadows and wants Cassandra to be like her.
