[[folder:A-C]]
* ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'': [[PunchClockVillain Marller]] captures Urd and splits her demon and goddess halves and transfers the demon half into an artificial body. One of the first things Demon Urd does is seal Urd's younger sister Skuld in a magic mirror. Marller thinks this was a little harsh.
* ''Manga/AkameGaKill'':
** The self-proclaimed guardian of justice, Seryu Ubiquitous, a CuteAndPsycho cop who [[SmitingEvilFeelsGood takes insane pleasure in killing those she perceives as evil]]. Of course, however, she openly and sincerely cries over the loss of her comrades, friends, and loved ones, showing that, as ruthless as she may be towards "villains", she is not a despicable monster. She also loves playing with children since [[ChildrenAreInnocent children, from her perspective, are unable to be tainted by evil]] [[spoiler:(at least except for Aria, who already died before Seryu even first appeared anyway]]). Also, even she felt that Borick was not worth the Jaegers' protection.
** [[TheBaroness General Esdeath]] is one of the clearer examples among the Jaegers. As much of a sadist as she may be, she finds Wild Hunt to be obnoxious and disgusting, most notably, and she found Seryu to be far too AxCrazy, so she told Kurome and Wave to loosen her up and reel in her SanitySlippage.
** Speaking of the Jaegers, of course, even the worst members of the group itself have a strict moral code.
** [[BigBad Prime Minister Honest]] may be an EvilChancellor, a ManipulativeBastard, and the root of all corruption in the empire, but even ''he'' actually feels sorry for [[TheHero Tatsumi]] when he ends up being roped into being [[AxCrazy Esdeath]]'s "lover" against his will. Subverted as he quickly gets over it, and it is more of an offhand comment than anything else.
* ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'':
** Koro-sensei has promised that he will destroy the world in one year's time unless he can be defeated, yet when one of his students endangers the life (or at least well-being) of a classmate, he flies into a [[BerserkButton berserker rage]] and threatens to kill the boy's family if he ever tries something like that again. And that's just episode one; most of the time, he's so quirky or kind that it's kind of hard to remember that he's evil in the first place. [[spoiler:He isn't. He's TheAtoner who's making use of the time he has before [[EarthShatteringKaboom his body self-destructs]] to fulfill the last wish of the only person who ever loved him]].
** Principal Asano is ruthlessly determined to maintain E Class's ostracization and keep the status quo in check, despite the fact that E Class is the only hope of ''stopping the planet from getting blown up at the end of Spring.'' But he shows zero tolerance for [[BitchInSheepsClothing Takaoka]]'s [[DrillSergeantNasty teaching]] [[WouldHurtAChild methods]] in "Talent Time" and fires him on the spot.
--->'''Asano''': I came to see our new hire in action. ''(OminousPipeOrgan)'' And it must be said, your methods are nothing short of a travesty. Granted, fear is the engine of education, but a teacher able to instill fear only through violence is nothing but a brute. And I do not employ brutes.
** After [[spoiler:Nagisa]] defeats [[spoiler:Takaoka the second time]], the three assassins [[spoiler:Takaoka]] hired as his EliteMooks reveal that they did not infect the class with [[spoiler:a lethal synthesized virus, like he planned]], instead giving them a very nasty but temporary case of food poisoning. Even professional assassins draw the line at [[WouldNotHurtAChild killing kids]]. Especially when [[spoiler:Takaoka was just going to destroy the antidote to the real virus.]]
** Asano's son Gakushuu is almost as prideful as his father, but he draws a clear line when the principal [[spoiler:{{Mind Rape}}s A-Class into single-target zombies]]. He immediately asks E-Class to [[spoiler:take the top 50 in the second term finals to give everyone in the main campus a lesson]].
* ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'': Even the paranoid, vicious commander of the Military Police Brigade who was eagerly trying to [[spoiler: have Eren executed a few moments ago]] is stunned at how far Levi goes in his NoHoldsBarredBeatdown.
** Kenny Ackerman is a former SerialKiller with around a hundred murders to his name, but even he is disgusted by [[spoiler:Rod Reiss' self-serving treatment of his daughter, Historia. This despite the fact the he himself slit her mother's throat in front of her when she was only twelve, and was perfectly willing to murder her, too]]. Kenny also notes that he wasn't heartless enough to leave his nephew [[spoiler: Levi]] to die when he found him half-starved in the Underground City, but on the other hand his standards only go so far, and he promptly abandoned the kid once he believed he was strong enough to survive on his own.
* ''Anime/BeastSaga'': Bilsword is disgusted at the fact that his fellow officers would deliberately kill subordinates who have families to return to without hesitation.
* ''Manga/BlackButler'': Sebastian may be a demon who eats children's souls and kills remorselessly, but even he expresses distaste for [[spoiler: Grell]] breaking shinigami rules and killing unapproved victims.
** While he definitely WouldHurtAChild, Sebastian apparently still has morals above what some of the villains in the series have shown.
--->'''Sebastian''': Society has monsters lurking that are far nastier than a demon like me, a child such as the young master would be perfect prey.
** He seems to consider himself some sort of NobleDemon InUniverse, saying that he is superior to his fellow demons because he only holds one contract at a time and fasts until he finds a soul he finds worth eating, rather than indiscriminately devouring souls.
* In ''Manga/BlackCat'', Train Heartnet, a professional assassin who has killed plenty of people, will NOT kill women or children. Once he was going to kill his target and then he noticed that his intended victim was holding a young child, and he hesitated and couldn't pull the trigger, which led to him getting shot. Considering that he reforms later on in the series, this, [[spoiler:along with Saya's death at the hands of his partner Creed]] is probably what caused him to give it up.
* ''Manga/BlackLagoon'': You can throw a stone anywhere in [[WretchedHive Roanapur]] and you'll find that whoever it hits or lands near will have more standards than Chaka. Even the [[ThoseWackyNazis Neo-Nazis]] had more class than him.
--> '''[[AxCrazy Revy]]''': Wow, this is surprising. You shot your own subordinates. ''Despicable to the end.'' (setting aside the fact that she herself has killed non-combatants on more than one occasion. Well, non-combatants that she had no attachment to.)
** And when the [[CreepyTwins Romanian twins]] come to town, while [[LadyOfWar Balalaika]] is not ''pleased'' that they killed her men...she considers [[ColdBloodedTorture what they did to the one they captured]] particularly [[ThisIsUnforgivable unforgivable]]...and she makes very certain that the twins pay for this in one of the absolute coldest moves in the series proper.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** Ulquiorra is willing to psychologically and emotionally torture the captive Orihime, but when Nnoitra suggests he's also in a position to molest or rape her, Ulquiorra is disgusted.
** Grimmjow's only interest is becoming strong enough to be the 'king' over everyone else. He doesn't even mourn his own subordinates after they die in battle. However, he believes in a fair fight enough to ensure Ichigo's injuries are healed before they fight to the death, and he insists on Orihime healing her own injuries before healing anyone else's.
** Kaname Tousen has an immense hatred of senseless slaughter. He expressed disdain towards [[BloodKnight Zaraki]] for killing his predecessor to become captain and sliced off Grimmjow's arm as punishment for mobilizing five Arrancar against orders which resulted in their deaths.
* ''Anime/BlueCometSPTLayzner'': [[BigBad Ru-Kain]] is, without question, a racist dick... [[VillainousValor but he always fights fair.]] When [[spoiler: Gosterro]] [[CombatPragmatist uses hidden snipers to cripple David and Simone mid-duel]], Ru-Kain has him jailed.
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
** Although the mysterious and beautiful criminal Vermouth has killed many people, she will not kill the protagonist or his love interest; this probably has to do with the fact that they saved her life a year ago, and [[spoiler: Conan is the son of Vermouth's friend Yukiko Kudo]]. Things get really interesting when Ran sneaks in the trunk of Jodie's car and tries to stop Vermouth; her mook immediately starts shooting, but Vermouth yells at him and tells him to stop shooting. As Ran protects Haibara, (whom Vermouth hates), Vermouth shoots ''around'' her, and tries to get her to release Haibara.
** Chianti is a psychotic DarkActionGirl and Korn is a ColdSniper, but they have quite the VillainousFriendship between themselves and with the deceased Calvados. As such, they ''really'' despise [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder Vermouth]] and blame her for "letting Calvados die".
* ''Manga/{{Claymore}}'':
** Priscilla. While she's ready to kill and eat men, women and boys, she doesn't kill girls. [[spoiler: Because helpless girls remind her of her childhood trauma: when she was a child, she watched as her father was possessed by a monster and ate the guts of her mother and siblings right before her eyes, and while he chowed down on her sister, she snuck up behind him and cut off his head with a knife.]] No wonder she has issues.
** Later on, the freshly resurrected and awakened [[NamestoRunAwayFromReallyFast Hysteria]] says that [[YouWillBeSpared she'll spare any Claymore who removes the sword from her neck]]. One steps up and does so, and she keeps her word, avoiding that Claymore while slaughtering the rest.
** Teresa hunts yoma, who are [[ToServeMan man-eating demons]]. In an arc, she encounters a group of robbers who murder, plunder, and rape for sheer joy. While yoma are not responsible for having to eat human guts, these robbers chose their atrocities on purpose. Teresa is disgusted and tells them that they are worse than yoma. When the robbers continue to provoke her, [[AssholeVictim things happen as they must]].
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'':
** [[TheEmperor Emperor Charles zi Britannia]] is a man who allows his people to brutalize, slaughter and abuse anyone in captured areas, simply because they aren't Britannian. He's ''not'' a nice man, and most of the world hates him for very good reasons. That said, he will not stand for lying. [[spoiler:Growing up, Charles watched his family murder each other in power grabs with lies, and absolutely despises anyone who plays a role. As a result, when he found out that his brother, V.V., had lied to him about killing his wife and Lelouch's mother Marianne, he swore to get rid of his lying brother the moment an opportunity presented itself. The moment V.V. suffered grievous injuries fighting Lelouch in ''R2'', Charles [[PayEvilUntoEvil stole his Code of Immortality and let him die]] despite V.V.'s pleas for help]]. This does make him a bit of a {{Hypocrite}}, as Lelouch points out. [[spoiler:He put on his own mask as Emperor to hide his true goal of making a world without lies]].
** Princess Cornelia li Britannia is a LadyOfWar, and had her share of war crimes against enemy's population, taking part in ethnic cleansing and never taking prisoners. But if your plan involves nuking your own population, she'll never side with you. Notice that Cornelia hasn't done anything evil since… at least the declaration at the school festival.
** Prince Schniezel el Britannia's right-hand man, Kanon Maldini, may be willing to support his prince's plans, but even Kanon was shocked when Schneizel revealed he has no intention of rescuing [[spoiler:his own half-sister Nunnally]], since he was using her as a bait to kill Lelouch.
** And Schneizel himself is shocked when [[spoiler:his sister Euphie]] apparently went crazy and started killing innocent Japanese left and right. Although in this case, [[spoiler:she was inadvertently placed under a Geass, not intentionally being evil.]]
** Schneizel also [[spoiler:abandons [[EunuchsAreEvil the Chinese High Eunuchs]] when they call nations dirt, leaders replaceable figureheads, and the people ants. He rescinds their deal to become Britannian nobles and leaves them to their fate at Li Xingke's hands.]]
* In ''Manga/ACruelGodReigns'', Gregory Rowland is a sadist who's fine with sexually abusing his stepson, Jeremy. Yet, when Jeremy gets drunk after losing the therapist who was helping him deal with the abuse, Greg leaves him alone that night, calling him a "child who can't handle his liquor yet."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:D-F]]
* ''Anime/{{Daltanious}}'': Kloppen is a nationalistic GeneralRipper who's killed many in his conquest to colonize the entire space system. When Dolmen tasks him to kill his adoptive father, Dr. Namil, Kloppen stares in blank silence and hesitates to press the button. [[spoiler: He kills him anyway]].
* In the manga adaptation of ''VisualNovel/DanganronpaTriggerHappyHavoc'', when Monokuma [[spoiler:[[DudeLooksLikeALady reveals Chihiro's true gender]]]], he [[PoliticallyCorrectVillain objects to]] [[spoiler:Hifumi's use of the term "trap."]]
* ''Manga/DeathNote'':
** Towards the end of the LiveActionAdaptation, Misa Amane, previously an amoral mass-murderer at worst and a PsychopathicManchild at best, is genuinely shocked and starts to cry when Light [[spoiler:writes his own father's name into the Death Note]]. Which is justified, since it comes from [[spoiler:her being an orphan with serious issues about it and having that side of her being given much more attention than in other DN media.]]
** Light also keeps his family safe and refuses to write their names into the Death Note, particularly his father's, though he does wonder if writing his sister's might be necessary at one point... but is still disgusted when he finds out that Mello kidnapped her, thinking he was going over the line. However, when his father [[spoiler:offers himself to take the Shinigami eyes deal in order to take down Mello, Light doesn't try to stop him, though he originally wanted Matsuda to take the deal. This indicates that while he did care about the safety of his family, he was more concerned about disposing of his enemies.]]
** Initially, he states that if he were Kira (and the audience knows he ''is''), that Kira wouldn't kill people that had killed for [[IDidWhatIHadToDo survival]] or [[KillingInSelfDefense self-defense]] reasons, or people that had been convicted of (usually petty) crimes but had since served their sentences and made a commitment to being functional, law-abiding citizens. And he ''usually'' saved his ([[AGodAmI not-so]]) "[[TheScourgeOfGod divine retribution]]" for people that had been convicted of major crimes like rape or murder... though [[DisproportionateRetribution not always]]. (On the other hand, he's not above killing people who had been exonerated, or found to be not guilty in a court of law due to lack of evidence, or people that were facing charges but had yet to be convicted.) However, by the end, whatever standards he had went out the window.
** In the Mello/Near arc, Light makes it obvious that he's not too thrilled with Demegawa, who was hosting a "pro-Kira" show, suddenly turned his mind to the money he could make. Though this has less to do with his {{greed}} and more of the fact that Demegawa could potentially ruin a chance to make people support Kira even more.
** During the Yotsuba arc, after Matsuda trapped himself in a spur of the moment lie when he accidentally interrupted the Yotsuba group's meeting about who Kira should kill next, the task force tells Matsuda that he has to fall off the balcony of the hotel room he and the executives are in, and that they'll catch him on the way down and throw a dummy the rest of the way to make it look like he dies on the pavement below. When Matsuda pretends to be wasted and starts to climb up onto the ledge, one of the executives tries to coax him down, telling him that he's drunk and putting himself in danger. He proceeds to do a ''handstand'', and all the other executives freak out too, screaming at him to get down. They may be murderous, power-hungry scumbags, but at the very least they didn't want to see this guy who they thought was just a hapless talent agent get himself killed.
* Akaza, the Upper Three Ranked demon in ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'' might be ruthless enough to target weaklings ([[BloodKnight according to his definition]]), but he doesn't eat women and children, putting him in odds with various demons in the Upper Ranks who have no such concerns.
* ''Literature/DirtyPair'': Billionaire Moon de Goldjeff refuses to acknowledge the relationship between his son Clicky and Lilis Joanca because Joanca is a trans woman, but even for all his hatred of her he still refers to her as a woman and uses the right pronouns. In fact, his one and only complaint in his words is that Joanca "''used'' to be a man."
* ''Manga/DGrayMan'': [[spoiler:Wisely]] used an ExpositionBeam to show another character [[spoiler:Kanda's childhood memories.]] [[spoiler:Allen is sickened and profoundly pissed off, and Kanda is in a HeroicBSOD state. ''[[TheStoic Kanda.]]'']] Even the local villainous CreepyChild Road, who delights in Mind Raping people, seems to be upset by it.
* ''Franchise/DragonBall'':
** The Crane Hermit from the original ''Manga/DragonBall'' may be Master Roshi's EvilCounterpart, and train his students to become {{Professional Killer}}s, but it's noted that he's well aware of how dangerous and evil [[SatanicArchetype King Piccolo]] is, and would ''never'' consider releasing him.
** Similarly, Staff Officer Black is the second-in-command of the Red Ribbon Army, the most evil criminal organization in the world, and has no compunctions against [[WouldHurtAChild killing children]] to take over the world. But once he discovers that Commander Red wanted the Dragon Balls to become taller rather than to take over the world, he is infuriated at the waste of manpower, and kills Red.
** Piccolo has his moments in ''Anime/DragonBallZ'':
*** Piccolo decides to aid Goku in fighting Raditz because he wants to TakeOverTheWorld as opposed to Raditz' plan to kill everyone on Earth to make way for the Galactic Frieza Empire. This and his time with Gohan are the impetus for his HeelFaceTurn. He's also pretty seriously indignant at the implication that he's going to eat Gohan when he takes him for training.
*** Piccolo is also disgusted when Vegeta kills one of his Saibamen for failing to kill Tien (which makes sense since even King Piccolo was AFatherToHisMen). Nappa is equally shocked.
** Despite Vegeta's attempts to hide it, he's visibly disturbed when Frieza is crushing Gohan's head with his foot. In the original English Dub at least, despite his hatred of Goku, he's absolutely disgusted at Android 19 for [[KickThemWhileTheyAreDown ruthlessly beating on Goku and sucking the life out of him while he is suffering from a deadly heart virus]], even going so far as to call him out on it while beating him up. [[SubvertedTrope In the manga and the Kai re-dub, however, he's pissed with Goku for going into battle with the heart virus.]] [[{{Hypocrite}} In both interations, though, he too kicks Goku while he's down,]] though at least he knocks him into Piccolo, who catches him.
** Vegeta also looks downright ''disturbed'' by the brutish alien Recoome crushing the neck of a badly injured Gohan with a single kick, leaving the tiny boy ''twitching'' and bleeding from the mouth on the ground.
** Cooler has a moment of this in [[Anime/DragonBallZCoolersRevenge fifth movie]]. Despite being a planet destoying GalacticConquerer himself who is perfectly okay with trying to kill the five year old Gohan with his EyeBeams, even he still reacts with clear distaste at the sight of his brother Frieza's gleeful EvilLaugh while committing genocide on the Saiyan race in the opening of the film.
** Though Android 17 is a killer cyborg specifically created to kill Goku, he actually hates Dr. Gero and only follows his programming out of boredom, so he doesn't endanger innocent people; thus, he's ''disgusted'' when he hears that Cell literally ''[[ImAHumanitarian drank]]'' [[ImAHumanitarian 600,000 people]].
** In spite of being enslaved by Babidi's magic, Yamu retains enough of his humanity to be disgusted and angered by Spopovich's ColdBloodedTorture of Videl in their battle. When the latter was about to kill the girl by crushing her head under his foot, he could tolerate it no longer and erupts:
---> '''Yamu:''' ''ENOUGH'', Spopovich! '''(with a look of genuine pity and sadness for Videl):''' This isn't what we came here to do; ring-out the girl and finish this match.
** In ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'', Ro and Sidra, the Supreme Kai and God of Destruction of Universe 9, is shocked when Frieza offers to join Universe 9 instead of being in Universe 7. Despite being the more amoral of the weaker universes, both are shocked when, in attempting to appeal to something that Frieza may like in Universe 7, Frieza wholeheartedly admits that wouldn't mind if Universe 7 rolled over and died.
---> '''Ro:''' He's a psychopath who doesn't care if his own universe gets erased!
** ''Frieza'' of all people is shocked to witness the two Zen'o erase Universe 9 from existence. It's not so much the act itself (which he does recognize as horrendous), but [[DissonantSerenity their playful attitude]] and AmbiguousInnocence towards it.
** In ''Anime/DragonBallSuperBroly'', when Broly is about to beat up a man in rage for harassing his newly made friend (Cheelai), Paragus immediately uses the ShockCollar to painfully subdue him and force him to stand down. This horrifies all the other Frieza Force members, with one member even proclaiming him to be worse than his own father.
* In the GagDub of ''Anime/DuelMasters'' this trope (like so many) is PlayedForLaughs. One episode features [[BigBad the Master]] and [[TheHeavy Hakuoh]] learning the Temple hasn't been paying for its cable and subsequently commenting "''Wow''. We ''are'' evil." Not that it stopped them from doing so in the first place of course.
* ''Manga/FairyTail'':
** Despite everything AlphaBitch Minerva has done at this point, from brutalizing Lucy and Milliana to joining the dark guild Succubus Eye, even she was frightened to see [[spoiler:her Succubus Eye guildmates turned into mere paper by Kyouka of Tartaros, but considering her possible survival and boost in power this might be nothing. Still, she also had decided not to just kill Erza when she was in her child form but Minerva replied she was just keeping her alive for her own pride.]]
** Kyouka herself qualifies as well. She may not be above torturing prisoners of war, but she is nice to her own allies, (Except Crawford) and objected to when [[spoiler: her boss, Mard Geer sacrificed so many Tartaros foot soldiers to use a spell to dispose of the Fairy Tail members invading his base.]]
** Azuma doesn't agree to some of the orders Hades gives him, but [[MyMasterRightOrWrong due to a sense of obligation, he follows them anyway.]] [[spoiler:After being resurrected as a Historia in the final arc, he's disgusted when Kyoka's Historia starts torturing Erza.]]
** [[MadBomber Jackal]] of Tartaros is a [[AxCrazy completely batshit insane murderer,]] and is one of the vilest villains in the whole series, but he dislikes the fact that his current target, [[DirtyCoward Michello,]] [[MoralEventHorizon ran and left his granddaughter for dead to save his own skin.]]
* ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'': Raoh is an EvilOverlord who believes in peace through tyranny and had clashed with his brothers more than once. However, he despises torture and at one point, '''''slaps the head off of a rapist in his army who thought he was dead'''''. In the manga, he even hated what his even older brother Kaioh has become, and requests Kenshiro to defeat him if he's defeated himself.
* ''Anime/FlintTheTimeDetective'': Petra is more than upset to realize the Dark Lord is actually a kid in disguise.
* ''Manga/FrankenFran'': While Victoria Madaraki is not really "evil", she ''is'' an ArtificialHuman created for the express purpose of being a highly efficient LivingWeapon and had likely [[OneWomanArmy killed people in the hundreds]] before she was even introduced. Since she was created for killing, that's also [[NoSocialSkills pretty much all she knows]] and, as a consequence, she thinks MurderIsTheBestSolution in pretty much any situation she's presented with. Her sister, [[MadDoctor Fran Madaraki]], is [[SiblingYinYang the exact opposite]]: She's an ArtificialHuman created for the express purpose of saving lives, no matter what... When Victoria sees first-hand [[BodyHorror the extremes]] her sister can go to in order to ensure that no lives are lost, she can only stare at [[FateWorseThanDeath the result]] in horror and ask if Fran isn't going to MercyKill her patients. In turn, however, Fran notices Victoria's willingness to kill people for ''calling her names'' and points out she doesn't have the moral high ground.
* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'': Oddly enough, [[spoiler:Solf J. Kimblee]] comes off as this. He's perfectly willing to let [[spoiler:Pride]] kill Edward Elric so long as he does it in a sufficiently dignified and awesome way. [[spoiler:Kimblee]] comes to Ed's aid simply because he can't stand the idea of someone supposedly innately superior trying to save themselves by clinging desperately to an inferior's body and [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech verbally bitch-smacks]] [[spoiler:Pride]] before [[DyingMomentOfAwesome leaving the planet for good.]] Kimblee has a strict code by which he lives and judges others. This code has nothing to do with morality, but rather being true to one's convictions. To him, the lowest of the low are {{hypocrite}}s.
** In ''Anime/FullmetalAlchemist2003'', when [[spoiler:Dante erases Gluttony's tattoo and turns him into a mindless eating machine]], even [[JerkAss Envy]] looks a bit horrified. Keep in mind that, [[AdaptationalVillainy in this continuity]], Envy is ''pure evil.''
[[/folder]]

[[folder:G-K]]
* ''Anime/{{Gasaraki}}'': Kiyotsugu Gowa is a MadScientist, but he's appalled when he finds out that [[spoiler: his own sister Misuzu is a kai (a person able to synchronize with the mecha of the series)]] and refuses to tell this to [[spoiler: his brother Kazukiyo]] out of fear of what he'll do to her. He also refuses to use an untested and fatal PsychoSerum on test pilots, so another MadScientist does it instead.
* ''Manga/{{Hellsing}}'':
** Alucard may be an AxCrazy CombatSadomasochist, but he knows that he's a monster and when someone goes too far. One of the reasons he serves Hellsing is because he hates the vampires of the modern era not only for being far weaker than he is but also for abusing what little power they do have. Specifically by turning people into ghouls, and Alucard is above that. And the [[BigBad Major]] starting a war on England just because he likes war... even Alucard thought he was a lunatic! (Specifically, a lunatic on par with ''himself.'') Sure, he killed a bunch of human police officers when they stormed into the hotel he was staying in, but they were the ones attacking him! Plus, due to his UndyingLoyalty to the Hellsing Organization, he has a strong distaste for traitors. [[spoiler: Lookin' at you, Walter.]] And becoming a monster for the sake of defeating him? He... doesn't approve of that, either. [[spoiler: Anderson finds this out the hard way.]]
** Speaking of [[HolyHitman Father]] [[BloodKnight Alexander]] [[NobleDemon Anderson]], the [[BadassPreacher good priest]] tends to follow his own set of rules, regardless of what Maxwell tells him. He willingly protects Integra despite being given orders to kill her, which appears to stem from genuine respect and the possibility that she'll lead him to [[TheRival Alucard]]. He scolds his Iscariot followers and protégés for mistreating and threatening her, reminding all of them that they're "paladins, ''not'' rapists". Even the thought of manhandling Integra seems to disturb him. He's also a GentleGiant who adores children and will not fight Alucard when civilians are in the immediate vicinity. However, the biggest comes when Maxwell goes [[DrunkWithPower absolutely nuts with power]] and kills the innocent survivors of the London attack for no reason other than their (assumed) Protestant beliefs. Anderson believed that he betrayed God and the Vatican for his actions and decided to waste him. [[spoiler:He even became a monster only because he believed there was truly no other way to defeat Alucard and that his humanity was God's to take; [[KnightTemplar he always felt himself more as God's blade]].]]
* ''Literature/TheHeroicLegendOfArslan'':
** In the 2015 anime, high-ranking Lusitanian officers like Guiscard and Montferrat are disgusted by Bodin's extreme and senseless murders of innocent Parsians and burning of the libraries, which are all potential assets. Other soldiers also voice their objections about Bodin's torture of the captive Shapur.
** Guiscard also expresses disdain for Bodin's fanaticism while Innocentis is visibly distressed when Bodin burns several Parsian text.
** When finding out that Innocentis coated his sword with poison during his challenge against Andragoras for Tahamine's hand, the Lusitanian soldiers lose what little respect they have for their king. [[spoiler: They did not realize the Zahhak sorcerors poisoned the sword to turn Innocentis against his men.]]
* ''Manga/{{Holyland}}'': Most gangsters don't respect CombatByChampion and gang up on the victor if he's not the one on their side. Thus, it stands out when the gangsters gathered to watch [[spoiler: Yuu fight Katou]] refused to gang up on the former and when the latter was beaten, some of them, including [[spoiler: Tsuchiya]], did not want to lynch the victor. [[spoiler: This foreshadows Tsuchiya's HeelFaceTurn.]]
** Later on, even Ryuu, the more insane of King's two henchmen, is creeped out by Katou.
* ''Manga/HunterXHunter'': Depraved BloodKnight Hisoka has an unhealthy interest in the potential of Gon and Killua to become worthy opponents he can fight and kill in the future. Even he thinks that Illumi's obsession with his younger brother Killua is creepy. On a more normal use of this trope, Hisoka enjoys praise and admiration from audiences--and when fighting Chrollo in a competition, Hisoka is visibly disgusted when Chrollo starts using audience members as tools and as cover.
* ''Idaten Jump'': Taiga Samejima is TheDragon to his EnfanteTerrible brother Gabu, but he's a rather fair competitor and despises cheating. When Gabu [[spoiler: has WorthyOpponent [[{{Ninja}} Koei]]'s DelicateAndSickly little sister Kiku kidnapped to [[IWillPunishYourFriendForYourFailure force him back into his "service"]]]], [[NobleDemon Taiga]] is so disgusted that he [[spoiler: ''willingly'' tells this to Sho and his friends so they can rescue Kiku.]]
* ''[[Anime/TheIdolmaster THE iDOLM@STER]]'' - The Jupiter boys are not pleased when they discover that their boss keeps crossing the MoralEventHorizon seemingly without a care in the world.
* ''VideoGame/InazumaEleven'' has a few of these, and a lot of the examples go on to create a HeelFaceTurn.
** Tsurugi in Go, starts out as a SEED, working for Fifth Sector who was sent to Raimon to act as a SEED in their team. But he begins to turn against Fifth Sector when their other SEEDS attempted to break Tenma's legs on purpose. His disgust at this is mainly due to his brother having broken legs, and therefore not being able to play soccer. What really sets him off, and makes him charge towards the goal to score for Raimon, was the line "Someone like him doesn't even deserve to play soccer".
** Kidou in the original series although not a bad guy, is portrayed as being the captain of the "enemy team" at first. He is completely disgusted when he sees the team's coach, Kageyama's plan to crush the entire Raimon team to death fail. Kidou works said plan out ahead just in time and warns Endou.
** Kageyama himself is an unredeemable bastard who has done many heinous things throughout the show, such as the aforementioned attempt to crush the opposing team to death just so the team he coaches could win and one year before the start of the series, he ran over with a truck the opposing team's captain's younger sister so he could run away from the match and the opposing team would be disqualified. However, his murder attempts only resume to people involved with soccer. He feels guilty when Rushe, a little girl who has nothing to do with it, got involved in one of his schemes and lost her eyesight, so he does an act of kindness by paying for her operation bills to restore her eyesight.
** Again, not "evil" so much as arrogant Arbega, Captain of Gurdon's team, is enraged at Rodan's trap to crush Earth Eleven under magma rocks, saying that he went way too far.
** Happens a lot, where a team that's portrayed as "evil" finds one of their fellow team-mates/coach's methods of winning a match unjust.
* ''Manga/{{InuYasha}}'':
** With the exception of Byakuya and those who were killed way too fast for them to actually form an opinion, not even Naraku's various detachments can stand him. That's right, even the parts of Naraku's ''own body'' hate him; he's ''that'' much of a dick.
** Garamaru, the brother of the moth demon bandit Gatenmaru, finds his brother's preference to drink human blood uncouth, and thus laughs off Inuyasha's assumption that he came after him to avenge his brother's death.
* ''Anime/IsekaiQuartet'' sees that even the {{villain protagonist}}s of ''Literature/Overlord2012'' and ''Literature/TheSagaOfTanyaTheEvil'' are among those disturbed by the depths of [[Literature/KonoSuba Darkness]]'s masochism.
* ''Manga/IsItMyFaultThatIGotBullied''
** [[PlayingWithATrope Played With]]. Shinji might be a prick who hates Aizawa, but even he balks at the idea of killing him, simply to get him off his back. Come his VillainousBreakdown and he fully loses those standards even trying to organize a hit on Aizawa [[spoiler:not knowing it was a {{Frameup}} by Aizawa to make him lose his job]].
** He hates his wife for [[BabyTrap trapping him and forcing them to settle down]], but he eventually comes to genuinely love their child. But due to their strained marriage, he has an affair with Yazaki. When he comes home, he's genuinely horrified to discover her in the bathtub with slit wrists. Subverted when he runs off to call an ambulance since he's mostly worried over his promotion and confused over her chilling words of how she trusted him. [[OhCrap Then Shiori walks up]] and Shinji desperately tries to protect her from witnessing her mother on the brink of death then rushes to his wife's side to bandage her wrists. Shiori does reveal the parent-teacher meeting and Yazaki meeting them by chance, horrifying Shinji since she likely found out the truth, but denies any knowledge to not traumatize Shiori any further.
** As for his affair with Yazaki? He only sees her as a walking sex toy, but even he’s put off whenever Yazaki believes Shiori would accept her as her new mom, and continuing this hopeful thought after her mother nearly kills herself because Yazaki taunted her with the affair. This was the final straw for Shinji and who proceeds to dump her.
** Again Played With in regards to Nagumo, the leader of the GangOfBullies who is understandably creeped out when she realizes the full extent of Yazaki's MadLove towards Shinji. That being said, however, she is more than willing to use said MadLove in order to manipulate her into helping her get back at Aizawa.
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** While he was an AntiVillain at worst, and his later actions clearly put him on the side of good, Robert E. O. Speedwagon, despite being the leader of a street gang, shows nothing but disgust towards [[BigBad Dio]], largely due to Dio committing evil [[ForTheEvulz simply for the sake of it]].
** Of the villains from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency Battle Tendency]]'':
*** [[BigBad Kars]] is a FauxAffablyEvil {{Jerkass}} and incredibly [[EvilIsPetty petty]], but he would never harm animals, as shown when he saves a puppy from a drunk driver. Ultimately, it's subverted once he becomes the UltimateLifeForm, though; he isn't opposed to harming animals and plants because he has regard for their lives, but because he's not sure he's superior to them. Once he knows he ''is'' superior to them, they're fair game.
*** [[NobleDemon Wamuu]] will always keep his promises, and would [[WouldNotHurtAChild never hurt children]] or those too weak to defend themselves.
*** The Nazis. While they're initially willing to throw away human lives and commit other questionable acts just to study Santana, they quickly realize that the Pillar Men are ''[[EvilIsNotAToy bad news for everyone]]'' and dedicate their efforts to keeping them from ever waking up, and fight them when they do. [[spoiler:They even pull a BigDamnHeroes moment in the end!]]
** Jotaro Kujo, despite being a protagonist, is openly introduced as [[JapaneseDelinquents rough delinquent]] who [[AtLeastIAdmitIt casually admits that he's a bad person]], but even ''he'' has lines he won't cross in his fight with [[BrainwashedAndCrazy Kakyoin]]:
---> ''"Look. No one ever said Jotaro Kujo was a nice guy. I beat the crap out of people, more than I have to; some of them are still in the hospital. I've had idiot teachers who liked to talk big, so I taught them a lesson... and they never came back to class. If I go to a restaurant and the food's bad, I make it a policy to stiff 'em with the bill. But... even a bastard like me... can spot true evil when he sees it! True evil are those who use the weak for their own gain, then crush them with their foot when they're through! Especially an innocent woman! And that is exactly what you've done, isn't it?! And your [[FightingSpirit Stand]] gets to hide from the victim, the law and the consequences! That's why... '''I will judge you myself'''!"''
** Of the villains from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Stardust Crusaders]]'':
*** The fake Captain Tennille may be a murderous assassin, but he clearly looks down on those who throw litter into the ocean.
*** Hol Horse is a cold-blooded, [[DirtyCoward cowardly]] mercenary who's [[OnlyInItForTheMoney only working for DIO for a paycheck,]] but when Enya questions him about the death of her son, J. Geil (a deranged and depraved SerialKiller/[[SerialRapist rapist]] that Hol Horse was paired up with), he [[BlatantLies lies]] about what a "great friend" he was, strenuously struggling to find even ''one'' nice thing to say about the man. He also [[WouldntHitAGirl refuses to hit women,]] and becomes furious at Boingo when his Stand, Thoth makes a prediction that he's going to kick a bypassing woman in the neck for seemingly no reason (though it's revealed that [[StabTheScorpion there was a scorpion hidden in her scarf).]]
*** N'Doul is willing to do anything in the name of DIO, but even he's rather appalled when Jotaro throws [[TeamPet Iggy]], a dog, at him.
*** As shown with his brother, [[FauxAffablyEvil Terence]], [[TheGambler Daniel J. D'Arby]] has the ability to keep the [[YourSoulIsMine souls he steals]] conscious, but chooses to keep them dormant.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Diamond is Unbreakable]]'':
*** Angelo has no tolerance for those who litter or leave dog poop on the ground. His [[DisproportionateRetribution response]] to these people [[{{Understatement}} may be a bit too much]], though.
*** [[AxCrazy Toshikazu]] [[TheSociopath Hazamada]] is insanely creeped out by Rohan's eccentricities.
*** On the flip side, even prior to making his HeelFaceTurn, [[{{Jerkass}} Rohan]] [[ItsAllAboutMe Kishibe]] is absolutely disgusted by Hazamada, considering him poor inspiration material that no one would enjoy reading.
*** Yoshikage Kira may be a SerialKiller willing to [[WouldHurtAChild murder a child]], but he's clearly disgusted when he encounters a stalker, going as far as to [[PayEvilUntoEvil murder him]].
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Golden Wind]]'':
*** While his screen time is brief, of what we see of [[SmallRoleBigImpact Giorno's Hero]], he's a ruthless mafioso, but absolutely won't tolerate drug-dealing. The anime has him bluntly tell a grieving and angry boy that he killed the latter's father for dealing drugs to children.
*** [[AntiVillain La Squadra]] may a group of {{Professional Killers}}, but most of them are shown to be disgusted by [[TokenEvilTeammate Melone]]'s lecherous nature, and ''all of them'' are absolutely horrified by how the Boss chose to kill [[PosthumousCharacter Sorbet]].
*** [[spoiler:[[TheDon Diavolo]]]], the BigBad of the Part, is the head of the Passione mafia. He is not above drug-dealing, and he's perfectly willing to murder his own daughter (who ''has never met him'') in order to keep his identity secret. But all that said, ''even he'' despises [[MadDoctor Cioccolata]], to the point of dismissing him as "human garbage". The only reason Diavolo keeps Cioccolata around is because it's better to have his [[WalkingWasteland abilities]] working ''for'' him rather than ''against'' him.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]]'': Even child molesters can't stand Kenzō, an egomaniac with a god complex and the former guru of a religious sect who manipulated all his followers into committing suicide (and would've died with them had he not survived his attempt).
* ''Manga/{{Jormungand}}'': Koko Hekmatyar may be a weapons dealer not above making a profit off of war and crime, but you do ''not'' harm her subordinates or children in her presence, despite of the fact that she has contributed to the deaths of myriads of people with some children inevitably among them (but hey, since they were not in her presence it's okay right?). And don't even ''think'' of paying her in drugs. ([[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Or credit]]).
* The Kengan Association of ''Manga/KenganAshura'' is an underground fighting ring operated by all of the world's richest corporations, with {{Corrupt Corporate Executive}}s [[AbsurdlyHighStakesGame betting their livelihoods on potential death matches]]. However, even by their low moral standards the psychotic SerialKiller Akoya Seishu, who would go out of his way to attempt to inflict a CruelAndUnusualDeath on his opponents, was deemed too extreme and suspended from future tournaments by the time of ''Kengan Omega''.
* ''Manga/KenichiTheMightiestDisciple'':
** Akira Hongo, the "God Fist" of the antagonist YAMI group, proves to be an interesting case of this trope. At one point, while he's confronting Kenichi and Miu about the death of his disciple Shou Kanou in the earlier D of D Tournament arc, Ryozanpakou masters Shigure and Apachai attack him. However, he effortlessly puts them off without actually fighting back, because Apachai is still injured from his earlier fight with his rival Agaard (a fellow YAMI member) and because [[WouldNotHitAGirl Shigure is a woman]].
*** Speaking of Kanou, a flashback near the end of the D of D arc reveals that, for all his cool-mannered exterior, Hongo really did care about his disciple. In the present day, Hongo was greatly displeased upon first learning that Kanou was dead.
*** Much later, Hongo did not take it well when a fellow YAMI member Silcardo Junazard [[spoiler:tricked him into almost killing Kenichi while he (Akira) was fighting in an unconscious state]] in order to fulfill his bigger objective of [[spoiler:kidnapping Miu. He wound up in an EnemyMine alliance with Ryozanpakou because of it]].
*** And most recently, Hongo has called out Junazard [[spoiler:for [[TookAThirdOption taking a very different path from the Living Fist and Killing Fist philosophies]], namely "Gedou" (which means "path of the demon"), which is seemingly following a path of simply killing for its own sake until you yourself are eventually killed]].
** Apparently, the One Shadow Nine Fists group leading Yami has a good degree of standards, as nearly all of them care about their respective disciples in their own way and are at least willing to submit to the unspoken rule between them and Ryozanpaku that master-class fighters should not interfere in their disciples' fights nor interfere in a match between two other master-class warriors. The sole exception among the Nine Fists is Silcardo Junazard, who has broken both rules, showing himself to be very willing to kill his own disciples if they don't meet his standards, and crossed the MoralEventHorizon [[spoiler:by his aforementioned manipulation of Hongo to nearly kill Kenichi so he himself could take advantage of Miu's chaotic mental state and kidnap her to brainwash her]].
*** In fact, Junazard's misconduct is so severe that we get to see just how the One Shadow Nine Fists group has standards despite being the series' antagonists who advocate the killing-fist aspect of martial arts: [[spoiler:Hongo seeks audience with the One Shadow prior to undergoing the above-mentioned EnemyMine, presumably to get permission to fight and kill Junazard, and [[PapaWolf the One Shadow himself]] also gets involved in Miu's rescue, albeit going there incognito]].
** Isshinsai Ogata, another member of the One Shadow Nine Fists, won't hold back against opponents who step up to challenge him and won't hesitate to kill you if you fight him with the determination of a martial artist. But as a flashback reveals, he was not happy to discover that [[spoiler:he'd unknowingly killed an unborn child when a pregnant fighter stepped up to challenge him]]. He actually calls that discovery an unfortunate tragedy when it's revealed in the present day.
** The disciples of the unarmed division of YOMI do ''not'' like the way the armed division fights. The unarmed branch all agree to one on one duels, while the armed branch is just fine with ZergRush tactics.
* In ''Literature/KonoSuba'', after Megumin repeatedly casts [[HavingABlast Explosion]] on his castle day after day, [[HeadlessHorseman Beldia the Dullahan]] rides to Axel and tries to curse Megumin to die in a week, though the curse is intercepted by Darkness. While [[PhysicalGod Aqua]] is able to easily remove the curse after Beldia leaves, he returns over a week later, [[LockedOutOfTheLoop absolutely enraged that no one went to his castle to force him to undo the curse and save Darkness or at least try to avenge her]] (and that Megumin ''still'' continues to blow up his castle). Beldia is then extremely surprised, to say the least, [[ThisCannotBe when he finds Darkness still alive and no worse for wear]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:L-N]]
* ''Manga/{{Lady}}'': Mary Waverly is an AlphaBitch who frequently bullies Lynn, loves seeing her break and once implied that it was her fault her mother died in a car accident. Despite this, she felt horrible after stealing the Lady's Key from Lynn and put it back. By then Lynn had ventured out in the snow to look for it and fainted from the atmosphere. If it wasn't for Alexandra the horse bravely breaking out of her stable and showing Edward and Arthur where she was, she would have likely died.
* ''Manga/LiarGame'': AntiHero Fukunaga, despite perfectly willing to deceive and lie to others to benefit herself/himself, [[PapaWolf snapped on a teammate]] during the Musical Chair Game when he suggested that Nao should be the one to be degraded to the Gaya group (where she would have no chance in advancing to the next round), declaring that they shouldn't put that kind of pressure on Nao who isn't even the room at the moment. So naturally Akagi [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this.
* ''Franchise/LupinIII'', the titular Lupin might be [[VillainProtagonist a thief]] but he's a ''GentlemanThief'', and he reminds anyone who asks that the people from whom he steals are people who can take the loss, and that there are worse people than he in this world. He also shows a chivalrous streak that compels him [[WeHelpTheHelpless to help those less fortunate than he is]] ([[ChivalrousPervert especially attractive women]]). Furthermore, Lupin often takes it upon himself and his gang to stop criminals engaged in more violent crimes and leave them for the SympatheticInspectorAntagonist (Inspector Zenigata) to arrest. Regarding Zenigata or any other law figures who chase him, Lupin always seeks to elude, not to harm; he lives for the chase and actually prefers his pursuers left embarrassed but otherwise in one piece. One time in the second series, he tries to steal a very rare bottle of French wine but ends up accidentally stealing a load of Christmas toys. Zenigata starts railing at Lupin on television for that, but as soon as he realized the mistake, Lupin immediately airdropped the toys to the gathered children who were the intended recipients.
** Note that this is the '''complete opposite''' of his original portrayal in the 60's manga, wherein Lupin was ruthless, murdered without a second thought, committed multiple rapes in front of the audience, '''lynched two police officers''', and was generally far more cutthroat.
* ''Manga/MagicalGirlApocalypse'': Parasite-M is a homicidal maniac, but is disgusted when Akuta offers to betray his comrades in exchange for having his life spared. She calls him a piece of shit.
* ''Manga/MagicalGirlSite'':
** In the anime, Sarina cusses out Yatsumura for the gruesome torture of the criminal of who she swore revenge. She claims it's even worse than what she ever did to Aya. She also isn't stupid enough to not realize the ulterior motives of the Site Admins.
** Anjou exposes Reiko Maguchi as the person who hung up the nude photos of Tsurara and even she seems at least slightly disgusted by the woman. She also loathes the Mahou Shoujo Site and wants to destroy it.
** While conducting his experiments on lifespan, Misumi and Alice couldn't bring themselves to sacrifice innocent young women just to find Louise. They opted to use condemned criminals and those who escaped punishment from the law. To that end, they used Anjou only because she attempted to kill them first.
* ''Manga/MissKuroitsuFromTheMonsterDevelopmentDepartment'':
** While terrorizing the world and fighting heroes are in the job description of villainy, Agastia, Megistus most especially, are against anything that will outright harm the general populace, whether it's directly attacking civilians or sending out a monster with even a tinge of WalkingWasteland potential, like Melty's chocolate body being contaminated with poisonous levels of metal flakes. While this could count as PragmaticVillainy given how harming the world population would be problematic for ruling it, they genuinely are too morally upstanding to do such horrific actions even for CombatPragmatism reasons.
** Agastia also has some ethical rules when it comes to what can or can't be done when it comes to villainy. They do not hire underage people to work there, as they realize that some of the heroes that they'd be fighting (like Rose and Zwart) are still kids. Also, while Kuroitsu does base some of her monster ideas around this, she and the rest of the MDD do not alter humans when it comes to the monster creation progress, with all of them being made from scratch instead.
* ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'': Omnipresent. Even many {{Mooks}} draw the line at killing women or children, and Ramba Ral dies as a result of such morality. The most obvious use is in the case of Prince Gihren Zabi, an individual so vile that many of his mass-murdering allies find him disturbing. His father, himself a fascist dictator who likely murdered his predecessor in order to gain power, [[GodwinsLaw compares the man to Hitler unfavorably]] (which he [[InsultBackfire takes as a compliment]]). And his sister Princess Kycilia, who's spent her time establishing her uberbitch credentials, hates him so much that [[spoiler:she ends up killing the man for ordering patricide.]]
** Also, in ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam'' the Titans are a brutal elite force that fights the Anti-Earth Union Group and commits lots of atrocities while at it, but many of its members are repulsed when it comes to gassing entire colonies. In fact, [[spoiler: the {{Face Heel Turn}} [[DarkActionGirl Reccoa Londe]] killed [[TheDragon Bask Ohm]] for having sent her on a mission that, well... had her gassing a colony.]]
** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'', OZ leader Treize Khushrenada was vehemently opposed to the [[WarForFunAndProfit Romefeller Foundation's]] [[MechaMooks Mobile Doll]] System, feeling that they would make humans unnecessary for battle and desensitize them to war. As a result, [[ResignInProtest he resigned as Chairman of Romefeller]], and OZ soldiers loyal to Treize split off to form the [[DefectorFromDecadence Treize Faction]].
*** In Episode 13, two of Noin's former students, named Alex and Mueller, are pretty ruthless when they attack remnant forces of the Alliance, and refuse to accept surrenders even when they're offered. When [[AcePilot Zechs Merquise]] joins with them in a later attack, he orders the Alliance forces to surrender and is appalled that Alex and Mueller are still attacking surrendering troops. Then they ouright act like Zechs betrayed his word in an attempt to frame him for disobeying orders, and attempt to kill him. Zechs is ''not happy'' with the two and immediately kills Mueller, slicing his Aries in two. Alex continues his attack on Zechs, partly out of vengeance for his friend, and partly because he felt Zechs was too lenient on the enemy forces. When Zechs finally gets ahold of the petulant, bloodthirsty Alex's Cancer, Zechs deems him an irredeemable piece of work and [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe tears the Mobile Suit in half]] with the Tallgeese's ''hands.''
** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'', the people inside Jachin Due are shocked when they hear [[GeneralRipper Patrick Zala]] give the order to aim [[KillSat GENESIS]] at the Earth. One aide, Ray Yuki, tells him that it would kill half of Earth's population and destroy the surface. [[spoiler:[[BadBoss Patrick]] not only disregards Ray's worries... he ''[[KickTheDog shoots him]]'' for disagreeing with his course of action, since Earth's population is mostly Naturals, the very people Patrick [[FinalSolution wants to exterminate]]]]. When another aide warns him that the other ZAFT soldiers are in the line of fire, Patrick waves it off and tells them it's for their victory and that the Naturals ''must'' be eradicated. [[spoiler:As Patrick devolves into a total VillainousBreakdown demanding his underlings to fire GENESIS, Ray uses the last of his life to pull a gun and [[TheDogBitesBack empty its entire clip into Patrick's chest]], fatally wounding the ZAFT leader.]]
*** A more specific example, Yzak Joule spends a lot of the series [[TheSocialDarwinist disparaging the "inferior" Naturals]], and is shown to be more than willing to gun down retreating enemies. However, even ''he'' is horrified when ZAFT forces start massacring ''[[TakeNoPrisoners surrendering]]'' soldiers after the Battle of Panama. This forms the basis of his CharacterDevelopment [[spoiler: and ultimately HeelFaceTurn]].
** Marida Cruz from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn'' is a TykeBomb and former ChildSoldier, but draws the line at killing non-combatants. During the first episode, she revives a group of workers she had knocked out during her pursuit of Princess Mineva, and later saves the life of one her captors after a hole is blown in the side of the Nahel Argama. She's even shown to be distraught upon seeing that her attack on Industrial 7 has resulted in civilian casualties.
* ''Anime/MyHeroAcademia'':
** The Hero Killer Stain goes around [[DisproportionateRetribution killing Pro Heroes for the crime of doing good things for the wrong reasons]]. However, he believes villains who use their powers to commit evil for petty reasons are just as deserving of death. Stain initially judges [[BigBad Shigaraki]] to be such a person, but spares him because he sees "the seeds of conviction" sprouting within Shigaraki.
** Overhaul attempted to eradicate quirks by using his adoptive daughter's quirk in conjunction with his own to create bullets that permanently disable the target's quirk. Shigaraki was quick to point out the hypocrisy after Overhaul was defeated.
** Don't let [[PoliticallyCorrectVillain Twice]] hear you misgender Big Sis Magne, or he'll make you regret it.
* ''Anime/MyHime'': A comedic example in the sound dramas: Nagi may be a ManipulativeBastard who is working for the evil Obsidian Lord, but he reminds the viewers not to drink before they're 20, unlike Mai, Natsuki, Mikoto, Nao, [[ThoseTwoGuys Chie and Aoi]].
* ''Anime/TheMysteriousCitiesOfGold'': Malinche suggests poisoning a village to get at the gold in the lake as well as to keep the kids from being sacrificed. The doctor's response to this suggestion is, "What?!" and says he hates doing it this way, but all it takes for him to get over it is Malinche reminding him of the gold.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'': Rather frequent.
** Zabuza Momochi expresses his disgust with Gato for double crossing him (and desecrating Haku's corpse), and is extremely pissed off because Kabuto brought him and several others back from the dead to use as mindless drones.
---> '''Zabuza''': This is bullshit, I don't want to fight for someone who would stoop this low.
** When [[spoiler:Kabuto]] revives [[spoiler:the real Madara Uchiha as an Edo zombie]], the nine-tailed fox sealed inside of Naruto [[EnemyMine offers to give Naruto some of his power (without trying to take over his body)]]. Why? Because he REALLY hates [[spoiler:Madara]]. Anyone halfway decent hates [[spoiler:Madara Uchiha]], even Kurama, even '''[[TheUnfettered Tobi]]'''.
** Hidan, for all the violence he inflicts due to [[ReligionOfEvil Jashinism]] objects heavily to breaking into a temple.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:O-Q]]
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** DragonInChief Rob Lucci is an ArrogantKungFuGuy, PsychoForHire whose idea of a hostage rescue is "massacre everyone so they don't have to live with the shame." However, he is visibly disgusted when his far weaker boss Spandam beats Nico Robin while she is tied up, helpless, and unable to use her powers to fight back.
*** He also sneers at him when asked about why he didn't do anything about Chimney following them and finding the way to the gate, later telling Luffy how to get there as well. Whether that's because he dislikes Spandam or he simply doesn't wish to kill children is up to your interpretation, though.
*** While it makes sense that Lucci wouldn't be interested in killing a defenseless child, he refrained from stopping Chimney because he wanted Luffy to find him so they could fight. It's obvious that he dislikes Spandam either way, though.
*** [=CP9=] as a whole (except Spandam) fits this considering their solidarity; after [[spoiler:the World Government turns against them thanks to the Enies Lobby incident being pinned on them]], they all try their hardest to raise the money necessary for Rob Lucci's medical treatment. They also show that they care for the land where they were born and raised, shown when they stand menacingly against an army of Marines that would have disturbed it.
** Even Spandine was horrified when [[MoralEventHorizon Vice-Admiral Sakazuki destroyed the evacuation ship]] during the Buster Call on Ohara.
** Absalom, who is a huge pervert that has no qualms about engaging in sexual assault, likes weaker women who can't fight back, and stabs Sanji in the back during their fight, seems genuinely concerned with Perona's abuse of Bearsy.
** Eustace Kid, probably Luffy's biggest rival among the Supernovas and also one of the nastiest members, is surprisingly shown to have a couple of these:
*** He's a sociopath with a HUGE body count on his head, killing people for being weaker than him, [[FelonyMisdemeanor for belittling him in any way]], or just ForTheEvulz. But slavery is something he would never involve himself in. Kid's reasoning is AtLeastIAdmitIt: sure, he's done his share of killing and pillaging, but taking into account that he's a ''pirate'', it's to be expected. The Marines and World Government, on the other hand, espouse "Justice" while allowing slave rings to operate unchecked, making them ''{{hypocrite}}s'' on top of being evil.
*** In his alliance with Scratchmen Apoo and Basil Hawkins, he doesn't get along with them at all (especially Apoo), and almost immediately nearly gets into a fight with them soon after they all meet up. [[spoiler:But despite his dislike for them, he apparently ''was'' sincere about the alliance and doesn't think highly of betraying allies. When Kid learns that Apoo set up him and Hawkins, and then sees Hawkins turn on him as well, Kid is disgusted with both of them, and later calls Apoo "pure scum" when they meet face-to-face again.]]
** Trafalgar Law, another Supernova, has a pretty nasty reputation as a pirate as well, and we learn that he became a Warlord of the Sea by ''sending the still-beating hearts of 100 pirates to the World Government''. (Considering the nature of most pirates in the series, it's quite likely that most or all of them were {{Asshole Victim}}s, but it's still pretty dark.) Still, he is shown multiple times to have some standards:
*** When Caesar Clown tells him that he drugged the children he kidnapped in order to prevent them from escaping, even Law is disgusted, and essentially stops working with him right then and there. And despite being reluctant at first to help these kids because it's somewhat inconvenient, he ends up treating them and removing the drugs from their system.
*** There's also the respect that he shows to Luffy, allegedly due to him being a WorthyOpponent. But in light of the Dressrosa arc, it's more likely because [[spoiler:they both bear the name of D.]]
*** His plan to bring down Doflamingo could have potentially caused a lot of casualties in Dressrosa if Kaido had shown up there and rampaged. Still, Law is disgusted with Doflamingo's enslavement of the kingdom's population, and when he sarcastically pretends to agree to a deal Doflamingo offers him, one of his conditions is that Doflamingo kiss the ass of every single citizen in the country. In general, he seems to want to avoid getting innocents directly involved in the alliance's problems, as also seen with the Minks of Zou.
** Impel Down is probably the [[HellholePrison worst prison in fiction]], built specifically to subject the worst criminals in the world to a torturous death. Leaving aside the fact that that makes the vast majority of the prisoners [[AssholeVictim Asshole Victims]], the one thing that [[NobleDemon Warden Magellan]] frowns upon is killing prisoners without even a half-decent reason. A former member of staff, Shiliew of the Rain, had a habit of rampaging and killing prisoners [[AxCrazy purely for fun]]. Magellan's response was to lock him up in the prison's deepest dungeon and await the death penalty.
** Blackbeard is quickly becoming part of the BigBadEnsemble of ''Manga/OnePiece'', having killed a crewmate for a Devil Fruit, handing in his former commander Ace and thus causing the Whitebeard War that lead to the [[EndOfAnAge end of the Great Age of Piracy]] and the [[DawnOfAnEra beginning of the lawless hell that is the New Age,]] recruited crew members by having the residents of TheAlcatraz rip each other to shreds and taking whoever was left, but even ''he'' listened to Coby's speech for them to stop fighting. He also respects the dreams of others, and would never mock them.
** Helmeppo has no morals about lying to prisoners, bullying townspeople, or throwing kids over the fence. Killing kids is another story and he's genuinely shocked when his father kills off an officer for disobeying a kid-slaying order. Probably why he gets a genuine HeelFaceTurn when he is pressganged into the Marines.
** While Luffy is far from evil, he can be pretty chaotic as a pirate and does what he wants. During the Impel Down arc, he was willing to ally with several potentially dangerous criminals and former enemies in his quest to save Ace. However, he draws the line at freeing Crocodile, as even Luffy can't overlook what he's done. [[spoiler: He's freed anyway]].
** Arlong is a [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain racist]] who crossed the MoralEventHorizon by killing Nami's adoptive mother, and [[WouldHurtAChild treated Nami like crap for years.]] But he treats his own men like [[AFatherToHisMen family]] and called Luffy a coward when the latter used his TrueCompanions as a shield. Furthermore, in a flashback to when he was still a member of the Sun Pirates, even he was appalled at how much a young human girl had been broken as a slave by the World Nobles.
*** Many other otherwise despicable pirates in the series have shown the slightest goodness in that they have that much care for their own crew, such as Blackbeard, Donquixote Doflamingo, and Bartolomeo (though considering the fact that he downright ''worships'' Luffy, it's sort of hard to see him as despicable). Heck, Bartolomeo takes it a step further by protecting [[spoiler:Bellamy]] after one of his boss's underlings tried to have him killed, claiming that thanks to the fact that they had just fought in the same ring, they were FireForgedFriends. Buggy fits to a lesser extent; he only becomes A Father to His Men after Luffy defeats him, and he may be the least hardened villain in the series.
** When Sanji and Franky witness an example of YouHaveFailedMe from Rob Lucci, their reactions are this:
--->'''Sanji:''' ''These'' are the agents of justice...?\
'''Franky:''' They're more evil than we are.
** The G-5 Marines are sick bastards who like to torture captured pirates just for fun. But when they encounter [[spoiler: Trafalgar Law, who became one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea after sending the hearts of 100 pirates to the World Government (Given Law's power, [[FridgeHorror there's no guarantee]] [[FateWorseThanDeath that they're even dead]])]], they got scared and called [[spoiler: him]] "insane" and "a creep".
*** A better example is given at the end of that arc, after [[spoiler:their EnemyMine with the Straw Hats]]. They badmouth the Straw Hats as if they were the usual variety of pirates because [[spoiler:if they don't, they'll admire them.]]
*** Later, Smoker and Tashigi are discussing cases of [[spoiler: children being kidnapped in recent years]]. Tashigi thinks that someone in G-5 was involved in those cases, and tried to cover up for them by sending fake reports to the headquarters. When Smoker pointed out that this is what Tashigi meant, the G-5 Marines got pissed as soon as they heard that, saying that even though they are army rejects, they still have their pride as Marines. Really, it speaks volumes on just how truly horrible the World Government is when G-5 is shown to be the ''most moral'' of the Marine squads.
** Perhaps the biggest ''One Piece'' example of this trope (to this point) is the World Government's attitude toward WMD. Apparently, the same organization that invented the Buster Call and is responsible for multiple forms of genocide and other atrocities is somehow appalled at the usage of [[spoiler:chemical warfare]], such that they've deemed it illegal and attempted to imprison one of the leading researchers on it (and of it, considering his Devil Fruit), albeit after the latter created an "accident" at a research facility.
** Subverted with Don Krieg; the main reason he stopped at the Baratie restaurant was not just so he could eat because he was starving, but because his crew was starving as well and he couldn't just stand by and let them starve…[[PragmaticVillainy because he didn't want to lose the manpower at hand.]]
** Diamante, one of the top executives of the Donquixote Pirates, beats the tar out of some Colosseum thugs who claimed Rebecca hadn't "really" won her block of the tournament and thus shouldn't be in the finals. This is the same Diamante who killed Rebecca's mother in cold blood ten years earlier.
** Diamante's boss Doflamingo is a self-centered dick and easily among the nastiest of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, but he's not the type to start fights over dreams, and he even if he is, he'd make sure he didn't lose, which is why he personally (well, [[PeoplePuppets almost personally]]) [[spoiler:beat up and dismissed Bellamy]].
*** When Doflamingo and his crew discovered that [[spoiler: the aforementioned Trafalgar Law]] was from Flevance, [[DoomedHometown a country no longer existing]] due to a tragedy involving a substance called Amber Lead, he berates Giolla for bringing it up, since it clearly disturbs that person. He along with his crew explain the truth about Flevance: [[spoiler: Amber Lead was poisonous yet the World Government let them get rich from it before abandoning the country when everyone got sick, sending the population into wars out of desperation to escape and resources.]] Doflamingo is QUITE the bastard, but even ''he'' found the fate of Flevance to be an atrocity [[spoiler: plus reading about it caused him to dwell on his own DarkAndTroubledPast, causing him nightmares.]]
** In the [[Anime/OnePieceFilmZ twelfth movie]], Akainu found Z to be a bit extreme with his methods. '''[[GeneralRipper Admiral (Ripper)]] Akainu''', who as mentioned above (using his real name, Sakazuki) would sacrifice a thousand innocent people to ''potentially'' kill one criminal, and has done so before, thought ''he'' was extreme.
*** Which makes sense, considering that Z's plan involved turning the entire Grand Line into a fiery wasteland. While it would undoubtedly kill all pirates, the sheer amount of property damage and civilian casualties, plus the thousands of Marines that would die in the crossfire, was too much, even for Akainu.
** The Vinsmoke family is a group of ruthless assassins who easily sacrifice members of their clone army and will ruthlessly beat a young woman for serving food they don't like, but they're still visibly disturbed at Big Mom's collection of unusual humans and animals. Said collection is kept in books via an underling's Devil Fruit that keeps them from dying and is held there by enormous pins.
** For all his faults, even Akainu despises the fact that the Marines are essentially attack dogs for the [[AristocratsAreEvil World Nobles]] and calls out the Five Elder Stars for allowing Doflamingo to fake his resignation.
** Scratchmen Apoo [[spoiler:had betrayed the alliance between his, Hawkins and Kid's crews to join Kaido from the beginning]], but even he's shocked and disturbed when Kaido's Lead Performer Queen fires bullets that infect whoever's hit with a disease that turns them into ice demons, which spreads through contact. Admittedly, part of this was due to self-preservation, since he was at risk of being infected and killed, and Queen ended up putting a target on his back by giving him the antibodies.
** [[AxCrazy Big Mom]] shows gratitude to those who share their food with her with no reservation. [[spoiler:As such, when she learns from Tama that Okobore, the town whose people shared what little food they had when Big Mom had amnesia, was burned down by the Animal Kingdom Pirates, she immediately ignores Nami and Usopp, who were with Tama, and takes down Page One, who was chasing them.]]
---> "You ingrates... The pirate world may be cruel, but there are still standards!! Damn vermin!!"
** For all of Kaido's sadism, he is a very honorable warrior and respects fair combat. He despises underhanded tactics and will not take cheap shots if they are available; preferring to achieve victory his own way. [[spoiler: This extends to even Luffy during their final battle. When a CP-0 agent attempts to kill Luffy during their fight, Kaido sincerely apologizes and takes out the agent.]]
** Edward Weevil might be a DumbMuscle with ElmuhFuddSyndwome who responded to everyone who told him Whitebeard (his self-proclaimed father) ''had'' no treasure by beating them and the entire town they were in up, but once he hears corrupt Marines were attacking Whitebeard's hometown, he attacks said Marines with such ferocity one of the [[RankScalesWithAsskicking Admirals]] was needed to stop him. Especially because Whitebeard's former crew tried to keep him away from said village for fear he'd destroy it.
** Subverted with the Five Elders (Gorosei) [[spoiler: they do have some objections towards some of Imu's more questionable actions, but when the latter double clarifies that he wants something done, they'll stand down and get it done without batting an eye.]]
* ''Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt'' features the Demon Sisters Scanty and Kneesocks who are pretty determined to take down the human race, but are [[AffablyEvil much more polite and rule-abiding]] compared to the {{Jerkass}} angel protagonists. Perhaps the crowning moment is when Scanty expresses a great disgust when Panty and Stocking are perfectly willing to let Brief die at the Demon Sisters' hands, much less not bother to say his real name.
** Likewise, on the angel's side, Panty has almost no moral standards whatsoever, and yet as foulmouthed as she is, she can't stand hearing the word "moist".
* ''Manga/{{Pluto}}'': The German [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman anti-robot]] KKK-expy is nonetheless appalled by the murder of robot children, even though they don't look remotely human ([[WhatMeasureIsANonCute or even cuddly]]).
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** Although they're not evil, Jessie and James are Team Rocket agents - kidnapping Pokémon is part of their MO. They do ''not'' believe in trainers ''hurting'' Pokémon, however, and this is why they (and Meowth) were appalled by Paul's method of training.
--->'''James''': Team Rocket may be rotten cheaters, but we're not in the business of destroying children's dreams![[note]]At least, not yet.[[/note]]
** This also shows in how they treat '''their''' own Pokémon with a great deal of care. They also have been shown to be disgusted by more brutal Pokémon Poachers and trainers and haven't been shown being brutal or overly mean to their captives, unlike some other more evil Team Rocket members shown in the series.
*** In one of the most heartwarming/tearjerking episodes of the series, "A Poached Ego!" includes the trio finding a group of poached Ekans and Koffing, the pre-evolved forms of Jesse and James' longtime main Pokémon pals, Arbok and Weezing respectively. A bit later into the episode, they run into their poacher, Rico, who uses Pupitar to fend off the Rocket trio after denying to give them their evolved forms of the Pokémon, which would've given him a financial bonus. With obvious incentive, they fight hard for the Ekans' and Koffing's freedom. Eventually, they come at a point where they are unbalanced against Rico's powerful newly-evolved Tyranitar and its constant Hyper Beams. Having freed the poached Pokémon prior, and nothing left to defend themselves with, they ordered Arbok and Weezing (who have been with their partners since their childhood, and were birthday and Christmas gifts, respectively) to escape to safety to take care of their kind. The trio even continued to fight the Tyranitar by themselves, even Jessie and James to the best of their ability. The size of the sacrifice just goes to show that they truly wanted what was best for them, even if it meant enduring both substantial emotional and physical pain.
*** Also, when Team Rocket, or at least Meowth, learned about Giovanni planning [[MoralEventHorizon to have the cloned Pokémon experimented on with a high chance of a mortality rate]] if Mewtwo doesn't submit to him, they were legitimately horrified. [[DarkActionGirl Domino]] may have agreed to allow Giovanni recapture Mewtwo and spearheaded the operation, but when Giovanni was perfectly willing to keep Mewtwo tortured and willing to have him die quite painfully from the torture, ''she'' felt he crossed the line right there (KickTheDog can only go so far until all PragmaticVillainy is lost, after all).
*** In "The Stun Spore Detour", after Misty helped James and Meowth heal Jessie's paralysis from the Vileplume's fumes, the female Team Rocket member still wanted to try and capture Ash's Pokémon thinking he and his friends would still be weak from trying to recover from their own wounds. James and Meowth refused to help, Meowth even looking physically sickened by Jessie's coldness, and when she got knocked out by her own Pokémon, they chastised her for being ungrateful.
** In ''Anime/Pokemon4Ever: Celebi: Voice of the Forest'': Jessie, James, and Meowth initially accompany the [[BigBad Iron-Masked Marauder]] to catch Celebi (out of hero worship initially, but very quickly fear of him). However, they're genuinely horrified of the Marauder's ''methods'' in doing so (I.E. brutally electrocuting Celebi, and brainwashing it into destroying the forest). The trio may love stealing Pokemon, but they would ''never'' sadistically torture and manipulate them.
*** Jessie is also horrified when the Marauder tells her that he plans to use Celebi to [[spoiler: overthrow Giovanni and rule Team Rocket]].
** In "Unova's Survival Crisis", Team Rocket works to awaken and control Unova's legendary trio in order to take over the region, and eventually the world. However, after the power drives Giovanni mad to the point of deciding to destroy the world instead, the trio and their associates abort the plan and help the heroes free the Legendary Pokémon (and their boss) before retreating.
** In ''Anime/PokemonVolcanionAndTheMechanicalMarvel'', Jessie, James, and Meowth at first ally themselves with Alva and his mission, solely in the hopes of finally stealing Pikachu. However, after Alva takes Magearna's Soul-Heart and dismisses the value of its life other than being a tool in his own plot, and Meowth hears Magearna's voice from within the Soul-Heart, the trio becomes horrified and disgusted by Alva's callous ruthlessness and turns against him, only for Alva to eject Jessie and James from his ship mid-air and take Meowth hostage to use as a monitor for Magearna's voice. The former two then spend the rest of the film trying to rescue their comrade from Alva and help stop his plans, and at the end, when everything has been resolved, the trio watches Ash, Pikachu, and everyone else in satisfaction for a while before slipping away unnoticed without bothering them.
** In ''Anime/PokemonSecretsOfTheJungle'', [[spoiler: they're visibly disturbed by finding out Dr. Zed's plans for the Spring of Healing and how Dr. Zed was responsible for the car accident that killed Koko's real parents; and play a key role in getting the truth about what happened to the authorities.]]
** In ''Sun and Moon'', Jessie and James briefly work with Faba of the Aether Foundation, but put their feet down when he tasks them with kidnapping Lillie so he can use his Hypno to wipe her memories of an incident four years before where she was traumatized by an Ultra Beast he had illicitly summoned. They explicitly state they are for ''righteous'' evil, not ForTheEvulz.
** [[JerkAss Paul]] himself has several, while it is true that he releases his Pokemon after they're [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness no longer useful to him]] or [[YouHaveFailedMe failed him]]. He is [[AtLeastIAdmitIt at least upfront]] about his harsh training, compared to the other abusive trainers in the past such as Damian (Charmander's previous trainer). Upfront to Pokemon, that is. While Damian lied to Charmander that he'd come back, he had no problem telling people how he feels about "useless" Pokemon.
*** Paul was also loudly against the Sunyshore gym's then current policy of just handing out a badge to anyone who came to the door. Jerk or not, Paul definitely doesn't cheat his way to his goal.
** The manga ''Manga/PokemonDiamondAndPearlAdventure'' establishes [[TheStarscream Charon]] as so vile, wicked, and completely EVIL that even his former boss fights him. Said former boss had [[OmnicidalManiac just tried to]] [[KnightTemplar unmake all of creation]] [[AGodAmI to recreate it as a god]].
* ''Anime/PrettyCure''
** In ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure'', Pisard, for how arrogant he is, does have a sense of honor, enough to give Honoka back her transformation device.
** In ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureSplashStar'', while narrow minded, Kintolesky rather fights fairly than using dirty tricks like the other enemies. Also, when he accidentaly hits the statue Saki and Mai made with the other students for the school festival, he apologizes.
** In ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'', some villains (namely Bunbee, Hadenya and Bloody) are against using the black card, considering it too dangerous. Bunbee even warns Arachnea to not use it, although she doesn't listen to him.
** ''Anime/HeartCatchPrettyCure'' has a strange one. In Episode 25, Cobraja won't attack the Cures because the moon was too beautiful and waits the next day.
** In ''Anime/HugttoPrettyCure'', Dr. Traum is certainly one of the most twisted villains of the season [[spoiler:before being purified]], but even he has higher morals than George.
** ''Anime/StarTwinklePrettyCure'' has Kappard, in Episode 45, telling the Notreis with him to stand back as they will be in danger since his weapon is extremely powerful. And considering what happens next... Also, this last resort of him comes from the fact that he was against following Darknest's mysterious (and dangerous) plan.
*** Another comes from Garouoga, who wants to control the universe, not destroy it. [[spoiler: This also is the root of his HeelFaceTurn, after he finds out that's exactly what Darknest/Ophiuchus wants (finding out that she destroyed his home planet helped too)...and also after he's purified]].
** Chongiire and Numerii from ''Anime/TropicalRougePrettyCure'' truly care for Elda and when she's missing they are genuinely worried, enough to go look for her. The three also seem to not like Butler's attitude at all.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:R-T]]
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'': ComedicSociopathy is the norm.
** Yet even Nabiki, heartless enough to sell photos of Ranma's female side to hornball men as a supplement to her pocket money, and who went so far as to sorta whore ''him'' out during her stint as his fiancée, is disgusted when Genma reveals he regularly stole food from the juvenile Ranma.
** Phoenix King Saffron, a spoiled brat who mistreats his subjects and thinks nothing of kidnapping, killing, or blackmailing, tries to incinerate Ranma with one of his [[PlayingWithFire fireballs]]. In response, Ranma tosses Akane's doll-like body [[note]][[NinjaLog not really, it was just her clothes]][[/note]] as a decoy, since it absorbs heat. Saffron is aghast and declares Ranma to be a wretched coward.
* ''Anime/RidingBean'': In the OAV, Bean Bandit is a professional wheelman with a soft spot for kids. In ''Manga/GunsmithCats'', nothing's changed. In one volume, Rally sees Bean, after delivering a package of drugs, stuff a drug dealer down a manhole for trying to sell drugs to kids. Rally challenges him to a race on the condition that if she wins, he'll give up doing drug-related jobs ''period''. They finish in a draw, but evidently the Bean Bandit was so eager to give up dope-running that he concedes defeat.
* ''Anime/RollingGirls'': Kuniko's supporters begin to turn on her after her plot to lure Maccha Green into a confrontation begins to endanger the lives of the hostages they took. They were more than willing to ''kidnap'' a bunch of teens to set up the trap in the first place, but actually killing them was something nobody but Kuniko had ever actually considered.
** This is the whole reason Ai ends up joining the other girls in their trip across Japan. She was originally one of the {{Mook}}s working for Kuniko, but got kicked out of the group after she tried to punch Nozomi in the face. Her former teammates even comment that it's illegal to physically assault non-combatants.
* ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'': Kahlua actually begged Gyokuro to reconsider when the latter put a hit on [[spoiler:Kokoa]].
* ''Manga/RurouniKenshin'':
** Aoshi Shinomori may be a [[TheStoic cold-blooded]] ProfessionalKiller, but he's also AFatherToHisMen. His current contractor, [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Takeda Kanryu,]] [[YouHaveFailedMe sentences his men to death for failing to capture his ex-employee Megumi,]] and casually asks Aoshi why he doesn't do the same with ''his'' men. Aoshi is visibly disgusted.
** Invoked by Makoto [[MagnificentBastard Shishio]], who roped [[ReligiousBruiser Anji Yukyuzan]] into the Juppongatana with the promise of letting him decide about the life and death of his enemies since he knew [[NobleDemon Anji was still very lawful and honor-bound.]] Predictably, when Anji sees Usui attempt to stab a defenseless Misao InTheBack, he invokes this trope and stops Usui with his bare hands. Overall, Shishio is evil and [[CardCarryingVillain well aware of it]], but at least he's ''honest'' about his villainy and can't stand the dishonesty and hypocrisy of the government whenever it commits comparably heinous acts while claiming to represent democracy and peace.
** Can also be seen in Gein, who is extremely disliked by his own companions.
* ''VisualNovel/SchoolDays'': Girls like [[AlphaBitch Otome]] and her GirlPosse throw themselves at the feet of [[JerkAss Makoto]] and backstab each other to have sex with him. Yet when they learn that [[spoiler:Makoto has abandoned Sekai after she claimed that he actually ''impregnated'' her (and with a reasonably good back-up, also)]], they all abandon him for that. [[spoiler: Otome ''openly'' tells him how full of shit he is, [[TookALevelInJerkAss and how he wasn't like that in his past]].]]
** Even Makoto has one as he despises [[BullyHunter bullies]] in one of the game's endings where he stood up to the GirlPosse [[spoiler:the same ones who backstabbed her friend by videotaping her having sex with Makoto, ''then'' having sex with him, and showing the tape to the whole school.]]
* ''Literature/{{Slayers}} Next''. Gaav concentrates all his resources on trying to kill Lina, because he believes his archenemy Hellmaster Fibrizo will use her to destroy him. However when confronting Lina he still gives her the chance to fight back; and when she casts the Ragna Blade and Gaav ''knows'' the spell could kill him, he still gives her the chance to attack first and doesn't try to pull any dirty tricks. [[spoiler: Ultimately this leads to his demise; although the Ragna Blade doesn't kill him it weakens him enough for Fibrizo to step in and destroy him]].
* ''Anime/SonicX'':
** Dr. Eggman once tried to blow up a city of completely innocent people, but he can't stand ''torturing'' victims, as shown when he witnesses [[WouldHurtAChild Black Narcissus torturing Chris and Cosmo]] and says, "I'm not above evil myself, but torturing people is just plain wrong."
** He also in one episode alerts his arch-nemesis, Sonic, that the Metarex are planning to kill him and his friends stating that "If anyone is to get revenge on that hedgehog it's going to be me! And through less brutal means!"
** When Sonic is apparently stuck on earth while his friends are in their world, Tails, an 8 year old, takes on Eggman's new space carrier in his plane. Eggman orders his Hench-robots to fire a homing missile which homes in on the plane. When the missile is near to hitting Eggman says to call it back (he only sent it towards the plane to scare Tails) however is told that there is no "call back" button. Eggman is horrified at the thought that he has killed a child. Tails, however, is saved in the end.
--->"I'm going to have to live with the thought of killing Tails forever!".
** Eggman seems to have a soft spot for characters such as Chris or Tails perhaps because they're the smart, logically inclined inventors of the group and thus maybe they remind him of himself. When Tails has to kill Cosmo in the third season finale, Eggman is the one who talks him through it and reassures him that he knows how difficult it is, but it's this or the end of the universe. While he accepts that it's necessary, he doesn't celebrate killing a child, nor does he celebrate the fact that one of his arch-nemesis's friends is the one who has to do it.
** As shown in the season one finale, where his robot is going insane and beating poor Sonic to death. Chris [[DistressedDude (who was Eggman's prisoner at the time)]] is crying for him to stop. Eggman '''tries to get his robot to stop.'''
* ''Manga/SoulEater'': Could be argued of Stein to Medusa given their fight was on the basis of pitching two violent anarchists against one another to see [[InLoveWithYourCarnage what happened]]. Stein is clearly attracted to Medusa's point of view (amongst other [[InterplayOfSexAndViolence things]]) and claims that only fear of a higher authority (i.e Lord Death) holds him back. But when Medusa claims she is the ''mother'' of the child she's been experimenting on - Crona - and that she would gladly sacrifice [[ItIsDehumanizing 'it']] if necessary, Stein is visibly angered by her. However, later chapters make an attempt to make Stein appear more humane and not simply the 'hedonistic sadist' Spirit pegs him as during the fight, so the 'evil' is debateable.
** Arachne was dubbed a 'heretic' by her own kind when she killed a witch in order to create the first Weapon. As the witches are largely presented as Always Chaotic Evil, this probably counts.
* ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato'': In the second season, the evil emperor-without-an-empire Dessler discovers that the court intrigues of his allies on the White Comet transgress even his moral limits. Particularly when he winds up in their prison cell.
** In ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato2199'', Wolf Frakken is troubled by the abuse suffered by a Zaltzi soldier at the hands of a cruel and [[FantasticRacist racist]] warden of a prison planet. He holds one of his crew back from interfering, but is moments away from belting the warden himself before Yuki Mori intervenes.
* ''Manga/SpyXFamily'':
** The isolationist terrorists who discover Anya eavesdropping are noticeably uncomfortable with the thought of killing her and have to be strong-armed into doing so by their leader Keith.
** A group of assassins are targeting the wife and child of a mob boss on a cruise ship. When one of their more psychopathic members suggests simply killing ''every'' mother and child on the ship just to be sure they have the right one, the other assassins immediately kill him and throw his corpse overboard. These assassins WouldHurtAChild, but they're not going out of their way to kill ''every mother and baby on the ship'' ForTheEvulz.
* ''Anime/{{Tamagotchi}}'': The primary objective of the antagonistic Spacy Brothers (Spacytchi, Akaspetchi, and Pipospetchi) is to dominate Tamagotchi Planet, and the trio has planned various schemes to take it over throughout the course of the series. However, whenever Pipospetchi chips in, Spacytchi and Akaspetchi either cower in fear, tell him he's going too far, or both. Since Pipospetchi [[SpeaksInBinary only makes beeping noises]], the audience doesn't know Pipospetchi's mindset, but it is twisted enough to be objected by (and outright scare) his fellow Spacy Brothers.
* ''Manga/TisTimeForTorturePrincess'': The [[PokeThePoodle "tortures"]] inflicted on the Princess are hardly evil to begin with, but the animal-loving Beast Master Krall [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone quickly regrets]] [[KickTheDog making a baby polar bear cry by stealing its toy]].
* ''Anime/TransformersArmada'': When Starscream defects to the Autobots, Hot Shot points out that Sideways has already betrayed them. Starscream gets angry that they would compare him to that bastard.
* ''Manga/{{Trigun}}'': Among the first things Legato Bluesummers does is wipe out a group of slave traders. While he ''is'' an OmnicidalManiac, he then goes up to their "merchandise" and tells them to make the most of their lives (because they're going to be short if he has any say in it).
** This has a lot to do with Legato's undisclosed-in-the-anime past. He was a former SexSlave, so although he hates humanity in general, he hates slave traders most of all.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:U-Z]]
* ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'': The sadistic [[HotWitch Beatrice]] takes [[CreepyChild young Maria Ushiromiya]] [[MoralityPet under her wing]], because she's utterly disgusted by [[AbusiveParents her mother's Rosa's abuse of her.]] This action is the downplayed variant of the trope, however, not stopping her from killing every other member of Maria's family in horrible, horrible ways -- including the people in it who are actually nice to her... and more strangely, she also [[spoiler: allows Maria to go CallingTheOldManOut to fatal levels, while commenting on how Rosa and Maria's relationship is sad and poisoned.]] Beatrice also ''really'' dislikes a witch that is worse [[EvilerThanThou than she is]] [[spoiler: (Eva-Beatrice)]], and in the games she tells that to her very face, especially the horrible torture she inflicts on Maria and her mother, [[spoiler:and winds up delivering a MercyKill to Maria to make her death quick.]]
* ''Manga/UshioAndTora'': the titular Youkai Tora is a 2000 years old monster who, across the centuries, has killed and eaten a huge amount of people and passes himself as a CardCarryingVillain (though he's more of a NobleDemon in truth). When confronting the sky-faring Youkai Fusuma he calls him an unsightly glutton when the latter boasts about having devoured 200 humans in a single go the last time he attacked an airplane and, across the series, is shown to be much less brutal and devious than many other Youkai. He ([[AllThereInTheManual and many other old Youkai]]) also considers absolute scum those Youkai, especially the younger ones, who'll go as far as [[HostageSituation using a human as a shield]].
* ''Manga/VampireGame'': The heroine's aunt Ramia may be an AlphaBitch who mistreats her sons and favors one over the other, but when a vampire suggests that she [[spoiler: kill her adopted son's mother]], who is a prostitute and whom Ramia strongly dislikes, she responds by saying that even though she doesn't like the woman, she's still a citizen of this country, and she's obligated to protect her. She then tells the vampire to beat it. She also cannot stand their uncle's misdeeds.
* ''Anime/VoltesV'': [[spoiler: Prince Heinel is disgusted at Emperor Zambajil for pitting him against his own father, Prince Gohl/Kentaro Go, and younger half-brothers, Kenichi, Daijiro and Hiyoshi. When Zambajil tries to push the blame on him for his actions, Heinel reacts by killing him, putting an end to his oppressive and tyrannical regime. In a way, he also avenged Zambajil disgracing his father long before he was born]].
* ''Manga/YuGiOh'':
** When [[AffablyEvil Pegasus]] notices [[CheatersNeverProsper Bandit Keith]] pulling cards from his wristband during his duel with Joey, he waits for Joey to win, then calls Keith out both on his cheating during the duel, and stealing Joey's entry card to try and get him disqualified. Pegasus then has his security guards haul Keith away and congratulates Joey on winning in spite of Keith's dirty tactics. In the manga, when Keith decides to ''threaten'' him for the prize, Pegasus is disgusted enough to kill him with a Penalty Game by turning Keith's hand into a gun and forcing him to commit suicide for his impudent actions, ''all the while making the most serious face he's made up 'til that point''.
** Speaking of Pegasus, we should keep in mind that Joey, Tristan, Téa, and Bakura were not invited to his tournament at all (they had to stow away on the ship in order to even get there) and he could have had them all thrown off the island at any moment. Instead, he allowed them into his home and gave them rooms and food like the four finalists. Plus, Mai had previously been defeated and lost all her star chips to a Player Killer, and only got them back after Yugi beat him for her, so Pegasus could have easily had her disqualified as well. Aside from his plan to take the Millennium Puzzle, Pegasus was a remarkably good sport about things.
** Played with in Battle City. Marik decides to cheat by using Odion, who is posing as him, to use the (fake) Millennium Rod to "release" Bakura's good half, who is confused and wincing in pain from the stabbed arm Dark Bakura gave him prior, since Dark Yugi wouldn't be likely to attack his friend in that state. Dark Bakura subsequently betrays Marik, but he doesn't do it because he has standards or because he cares about Bakura; he only does it because if Bakura is killed, ''he'll'' cease to exist. Though he ''does'' give Marik a look of disgust before he takes back control over Bakura, implying that this trope is a part of his motivations.
** [[Anime.YuGiOh In a filler arc of the anime]], Noah intervenes to stop Johnson from cheating with his duel with Joey, irritated since he wants his cronies to best Seto and his friends fair and square. If it weren't for Joey convincing him to let the duel continue, Noah was set to stop the duel since, by all accounts, Joey would have won by then if Johnson hadn't cheated.
** In another anime filler, Raphael refuses to allow any of his monsters to remain in the graveyard, even sacrificing his own life points to return them. This is [[AntiVillain sympathetically explained]] [[spoiler:because he's an orphan who horribly lost his whole family.]]
** In the original manga, Kaiba has this reaction when he sees Marik's duel arena for Yugi to fight the brainwashed Joey — designed so that one of them will be killed in the end — believing that even at his worst, he would not have stooped so low as to create a challenge with no other alternative. Bear in mind that his worst is an AxCrazy JerkAss who spent a fortune to build an amusement park with five levels of deadly devices and games, complete with an expert torturer, two ex-military specialists, a contract killer, and a serial killer, all in the name of revenge for "the other Yugi" beating him at a Shadow Game of Duel Monsters... well, that and the [[MindRape Penalty Game]] he got as a result, which had haunted him in his nightmares since. In his view, as bad as all those things were, they were still fully-beatable games and puzzles that could be solved on their own terms without any consequences if the person entering was good enough; meanwhile, Marik's game is little more than a glorified SadisticChoice.
* ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'': Yubel is an insane {{Yandere}} [[StalkerWithACrush stalker]], who wants nothing less than to make protagonist Judai's life a living hell. However, this is because [[LoveMakesYouCrazy in their insanity]], Yubel genuinely thinks that [[TheMasochismTango pain and love are the same thing]]. When Yubel discovers that lesser villain Amon doesn't feel a thing after [[HumanSacrifice sacrificing]] his LoveInterest Echo, Yubel is ''disgusted''.
* ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'':
** [[BigBad Rex Goodwin]] has nothing but disdain for Mr. Armstrong, a prison warden who abuses his power, frames the inmates for rules violations (among other abuses), cheats as a duelist, and is generally a disgusting person, eventually fired him.[[note]]''After'' he loses in a duel to Yusei, ''in spite'' of all the cheating ''and'' with Yusei playing with a deck literally scrapped together from cards given by fellow inmates.[[/note]]
** Even the Dark Signers didn't dare unleash the Crimson Devil, because it was too violent and unpredictable.
* In ''Anime/YuGiOhZEXAL'', Vector is more evil ''by far'' than the other six Barian Emperors, and ''none'' of them like him very much. (Alito, especially, seems to have nothing but contempt for him, and Dumon actually has to [[LetMeAtHim hold an angry Mizar back]] to prevent him from attacking Vector after he insults the defeated Alito and Girag.) In fact, Vector appears to be the only one who has actually does ''anything'' that could be truly considered "evil", other than fighting the good guys. (Girag [[{{Brainwashed}} brainwashes]] a few people, but such victims don't seem to be permanently harmed by it.)
* ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'': The younger Toguro brother, while having sold his soul and became a contract killer, obeys a strict code of honor, almost never killing people unless it's specifically part of his current job, and displaying great dislike for those who commit dishonorable acts. When the older Toguro brother plays mind games during his fight with Kuwabara, the younger Toguro demands that his brother stop, and is pretty visibly pissed off. Also, when his same brother attempts to interrupt his one-on-one fight with Yusuke, little brother finally gets fed up with his elder and [[spoiler:nearly annihilates him with a single punch]]. Toguro also killed the entire tournament committee because they tried to tip the scales of the Urameshi/Masho round in Team Masho's favor using their executive power. Seriously, do '''not''' act dishonorably in front of the younger Toguro.
** Granted, elder Toguro was practically spitting on Genkai's name, [[spoiler: who younger Toguro loved and killed the night before]]. It's possible he was still very bitter about the whole incident.
** During the Urameshi/Masho round, Kurama passed out while standing after the second consecutive victory. Due to the aforementioned committee, he was forced to fight the third round ''while unconcious'' against Bakken. [[CurbStompBattle it went about as well as you think it would.]] The fight was in such bad taste, even the sadistic announcer tried to stop the fight numerous times just because Kurama wasn't conscious to "enjoy" the beating, too.
*** Granted, Koto's sadism [[CharacterExaggeration was a result of the dub]].
*** [[DubText The same dub also gave Koto a crush on Kurama, which taints anything she says about him.]]
