6	Paul [=McClaran=] Dini (born August 7, 1957 in UsefulNotes/NewYorkCity) is a five-time Emmy award-winning American television writer and producer of animated cartoons. He is best known as a producer and writer for several Creator/WarnerBros/Creator/DCComics series, including ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'', ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'', ''WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries'', The New Batman/Superman Adventures, ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond'', ''WebAnimation/GothamGirls'' and ''WesternAnimation/DuckDodgers''. He also developed and scripted ''WesternAnimation/KryptoTheSuperdog'' and contributed scripts to many other shows (both for and outside WB), such as ''WesternAnimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse1983'' (a job he and fellow writer J. After leaving Warner Bros. in early 2004, Dini went on to write and story edit the popular Creator/{{ABC}} adventure series ''Series/{{Lost}}''. Often times when the character of ComicBook/HarleyQuinn appears in another animated movie or series, Paul Dini usually has a hand in writing the script somewhere.

8	Dini has also written several comics stories for DC Comics, including an acclaimed oversized graphic novel series illustrated by painter Creator/AlexRoss. (A hardcover collection of the Dini and Ross stories was published in late summer 2005 under the title The World's Greatest Superheroes.) Other books written by Dini for DC have featured his Batman Animated [[CanonForeigner creation]] ComicBook/HarleyQuinn, as well as classic characters Superman, Batman, [[ComicBook/{{Shazam}} Captain Marvel]], and ComicBook/{{Zatanna}}.

10	Best known among Dini's original creations is ''ComicBook/JingleBelle'', the rebellious teen-age daughter of SantaClaus. Dini also created Sheriff Ida Red, the super-powered cowgirl star of a series of books set in Dini's mythical town of Mutant, Texas.

12	In 2006, Dini became the writer for ''ComicBook/DetectiveComics'', his first regular comic assignment. In 2009, he became writer of new Batman titles, ''ComicBook/BatmanStreetsOfGotham'' and ''ComicBook/GothamCitySirens''. He also launched the short-lived ''Zatanna'' [[ComicBook/Zatanna2010 solo series]], which ended just prior to DC's ''ComicBook/New52'' relaunch.

14	In 2010 he created the live action series ''Series/TowerPrep'', which aired on the Creator/CartoonNetwork. While an excellent series, it came a bad time when [=CN=] was clumsily experimenting with live action shows and had the misfortune to follow after their disastrous ''CN Real'' campaign. It only lasted one season as a result.

16	Dini is involved in the ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'' animated series and is behind ''[[WesternAnimation/HulkAndTheAgentsOfSMASH Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.]]'', both produced by Creator/MarvelAnimation for the WesternAnimation/{{Marvel Universe\|DisneyXD}} block on Creator/DisneyXD.

18	He was also the co-writer of the live-action Disney movie ''Film/{{Maleficent}}'' based on ''WesternAnimation/SleepingBeauty'' starring Creator/AngelinaJolie. In addition, he co-wrote one other live action film——the infamous ''Film/DoubleDragon1994'' adaptation.

20	In 2016, he put out a very dark and unsettling autobiography detailing the events surrounding a traumatic robbery he was a victim of in 1993 while writing ''Batman: The Animated Series'' called ''ComicBook/DarkNightATrueBatmanStory''.
