Michael Tremain Sinterniklaas (born August 13, 1972 in Nice, France) started in ADR as a director/voice actor for many North Carolina-based English dubs for Creator/AnimEigo back in TheNineties, such as Anime/BubblegumCrisis and Manga/UruseiYatsura. He later moved to New York, and began collaborating with Creator/FourKidsEntertainment, but actually, he's one of the more talented actor/directors they had, simply because he managed to land some really good roles elsewhere, including both Nnoitora Jiruga and Luppi from Manga/Bleach, and some occasional roles for Creator/FUNimation. Western cartoon fans know him best as the voice of Dean Venture of WesternAnimation/TheVentureBros and Leonardo from WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003. He's got a decent range which allows him to play anything from a teenage boy to a Anime/TheSeries. He's not as popular as, say, Creator/DanGreen, but then again, it's kinda hard to top that voice. Michael seems to attract a lot of crazy fan girls at conventions and other public events.

Besides voice acting he also founded the recording studio Creator/NYAVPost, which bases its model on bi-coastal collaboration- shows he directs tend to feature actors from both sides of the States. Dubs for Creator/MediaBlasters anime series and some WesternAnimation like WesternAnimation/TheVentureBros and WesternAnimation/CareBearsWelcomeToCareALot are recorded there, for which he is often the voice director. WesternAnimation/KappaMikey was also recorded there, as well as basically any other of Creator/AnimationCollective's shows, considering they're just several blocks from each other. He is one of the few voice actors who is quite well-known of a lot of cross region work with a total of three major voice acting locations (the said founded NYAV Post in New York City, Creator/FUNimation in Dallas, Texas, and many Los Angeles based studios like Creator/Studiopolis). Pretty much, the only things missing in the list are Creator/SeraphimDigitalStudios (Houston, Texas) and Creator/TheOceanGroup (Vancouver, Canada), but it wouldn't be a surprise if his name started popping up there.Though it should be noted that doing professional work in a foreign country isn't the easiest thing to get a quick foothold in.

!!Tropes associated with Michael Sinterniklaas:
* BilingualBonus: He was born in France and raised in the UK and Switzerland. This has helped him produce the English dub for French animated movies licensed by Gkids, such as Ernest And Celestine, WesternAnimation/ACatInParis and Mia And Magoo. His last name is the Dutch word for Saint Nicholas, who is Santa Claus in America or Father Christmas if you're from the UK. Also, he knows Japanese and has even formed healthy business relations with Japanese animation studios.
* ChronicallyKilledActor: Roughly one third of the characters he voices usually end up dying, especially since he'll often end up playing a minor RedShirt or VictimOfTheWeek who bites it such as in Anime/TheGalaxyRailways, Manga/CaseClosed, Manga/Jormungand, and VideoGame/SoulcaliburVI. Even some of his leading characters end up dying, though they don't always necessarily stay dead.
* ManOfAThousandVoices: He's pulled off teen heroes, old men, accented characters such as in Manga/BlackButler and Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers and even cute little animals or creatures such as all the Hemkas.
* PigeonholedVoiceActor: Less so than others, but in all his projects he plays either the straight young, male hero, a charismatic antagonist, or a dorky wimp. His roles are usually on either end of an unrequited crush. And usually the object of said relationship will always be voiced by Creator/StephanieSheh, who will also be producing alongside him. He also has a habit for playing characters with very short life expectancies.
** Said first and third typecast is reinforced with Ivan Karelin, who is one of the lowest ranking superheroes in the series due to his powers.
** He also has a knack for playing unintelligible Ridiculously Cute Critters, such as Seviper, Punipuni, several Hemkas, Cozy Heart Penguin (who's a female), and now Vinny.
* PlayingAgainstType: Nnoitora. So much.
** Ditto with Angelo Sauper: a young, Jerkass AntiVillain with a fierce loyalty and an unrequited crush on his direct superior... And backed with HairTriggerTemper.
** Long before that, there was Ichi the Killer in the animated adaptation. Yes that Ichi.
** 004 has him as a more stoic character pulling a much deeper voice than he usually does.
** Gan Ning whose a HotBlooded BloodKnight. And from the same type of that, let's not forget that he was the voice actor of the King of Braves, Guy Shishioh, during his short dub run.
** [[spoiler:Orphan and Animus.]] While he has voiced a good amount of villains as noted, rarely do they come in the form of a borderline EldritchAbomination or a .
* TheOtherDarrin: If a cast member drops out right before recording a show Sinterniklaas directs, and the character is male, 99% of the time he'll fill in for him.
* UncreditedRole: Many of his earlier roles with Creator/Studiopolis from the late 00's and early 10's, such as Manga/Bleach, Manga/Kekkaishi, and the majority of Anime/TigerAndBunny, see him uncredited in the English credits, likely due to union issues. This has changed since around the early-mid 10's onward, with him listed in later English credits of shows they've dubbed including the end of Anime/TigerAndBunny as well as both its films, Anime/DigimonFusion, and Anime/MarvelFutureAvengers.
