Megan Denise Fox (born May 16, 1986 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee) is an American actress and model. She began acting in the early 2000s, and by the end of the decade was one of the most famous actresses and sex symbols in the industry.

In 2004, Fox made her major film debut with a role in the teen comedy Film/ConfessionsOfATeenageDramaQueen. In 2007, she co-starred as Mikaela Banes, the s of Creator/ShiaLaBeouf's character, in the blockbuster action film Film/2007, which became her StarMakingRole and cemented her as a defining sex symbol of her time. Fox reprised her role in the 2009 sequel, Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen. Later in 2009, she starred as the eponymous lead in the black comedy horror film Film/JennifersBody.

She also became known for practicing BrutalHonesty, being extremely blunt in interviews about her opinion on her public image, her bisexuality, how awful her movies are, how she didn't really act in Transformers, how Creator/MichaelBay is nuts, etc. When asked if she wanted to play Franchise/WonderWoman, for example, Fox quickly dissed the character, making her unpopular with some segments of comic book fandom. (Ironically, Fox has since starred in two DC comics-inspired films: in Film/2010 and a WesternAnimation/RobotChicken crossover with Creator/DCComics.)

Fox was not included in Film/TransformersDarkOfTheMoon because of statements she made in which she compared working under Bay to working for Hitlerthough the context was more about how Bay drove people to work on the set than anything about him personally. (Bay said in June 2009 that Fox was fired on orders of executive producer Creator/StevenSpielberg, who, being Jewish, disapproved of her comments about Bay, while Spielberg himself denied this ever happened.) Fox and Bay apparently reconciled sometime afterward, and she was cast as April O'Neil in the Bay-produced remake of Film/2014 and its 2016 sequel.

She married fellow actor Creator/BrianAustinGreen in 2010, and the two eventually separated in 2020. She has three sons with Green named Neil, Bodhi and Journey. She is currently in a relationship with the American rapper and singer Music/MachineGunKelly, with the two going public in summer 2020; they later announced their engagement in early 2022.

!!Tropes in her work include:
* ActionGirl: In neither the Transformers nor Ninja Turtles films does she play the damsel, and often gets just as involved in the action as the heroes.
* AdamWesting:
** In Film/TheDictator, where she plays a version of herself that has affairs with rich dictators.
** Also in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, where she plays a ditzy young Hollywood starlet who can barely act and only gets roles because of her good looks.
* CastingGag:
** An episode of Series/HopeAndFaith has Sydney Squeeing that her aunt met Brian Austin Green. They were already together at this point.
** Creator/NoelFisher played her fiance on Series/TwoAndAHalfMen. He later plays Michelangelo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Michelangelo is Megan's favourite of the turtles.
** Fox and Creator/AlanRitchson both co-starred together in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They would later star together in Above The Shadows.
** Her starring role in Film/JennifersBody as a succubus served as a major inspiration for her casting as the vampire Nitara in VideoGame/MortalKombat1. The film is even referenced in one of the character's interactions with Kung Lao.
* DawsonCasting:invoked
** In Film/2007 she was twenty playing seventeen.
** And in Film/JennifersBody she was twenty-one as a high schooler.
* DomesticAbuse: She doesn't regularly play these, but she's very good at playing them, as two of her most well-received performances were ones where she played a woman stuck in an abusive relationship. The first is "The Girlfriend" in "Love the Way You Lie", and the other is Film/TillDeath, both of which earned her immense praise.
* DullSurprise: She's generally not well-known for her emoting. This was particularly criticized when she played April O'Neil in Film/2014. Though some of her performances show that she is capable of effective emoting.
* DyeingForYourArt:invoked She went down to 97 pounds in Film/JennifersBody to play a corpse.
* HideYourPregnancy: She was pregnant during Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and a couple of scenes had to be rewritten.
* HollywoodHypeMachine: The second Transformers became a huge hit; she was instantly propelled into worldwide fame, with near-constant hype from many sources. She took a few years off when other films didn't do as well.
* MsFanservice: She's one of the biggest sex symbols of the late 2000s.
* OldShame: invoked Like most of the cast and crew, she disliked Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen. She isn't a fan of Film/2010 either, saying that she doesn't want her children to ever see it.
* TheOtherDarrin: invoked
** She replaced the nearly nine-years-older Nicole Paggi as Faith Ford's oldest child for seasons two and three of Hope & Faith. There has never been an official reason for the change, but Faith Ford has implied it was because Kelly Ripa didn't get along with Nicole during Season 1.
** She filled in for Zooey Deschanel in Season 5 of Series/NewGirl.
* PrettyInMink: She's worn fur wraps in some of her movies, when playing a rich, glamorous woman.
* PromotedFangirl: She's a fan of Music/Eminem, and jumped at the opportunity to play "The Girlfriend" in the music video for "Love the Way You Lie".
* RomanceOnTheSet: With Music/MachineGunKelly on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass.
* SugarWiki/SheReallyCanAct:
** She received this reaction for playing "The Girlfriend" in the music video for "Love the Way You Lie". Many single out the moment when Creator/DominicMonaghan throws her against the wall and punches a hole in it next to her head as an extremely powerful moment that she really brought to life.
** In 2021, her lead role in the drama-heavy thriller Film/TillDeath received near-universal acclaim from both professional critics and regular audiences alike, with many calling it her best performance by a long shot and a potential career rebirth.
* SoMyKidsCanWatch: Invoked. She cited this as a major reason she starred in Film/2014.
* TypeCasting: invoked Was cast as the AlphaBitch on a few occasions (pre-Transformers). Now she's shed that, only to be typecast as Action Girls - although there are of course worst type-castings. Her character in Film/JennifersBody was almost a combination of the two types.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:invoked
** Megan Fox would have reprised her role in Film/TransformersDarkOfTheMoon, if she had not insulted Michael Bay. The female lead of the film, played by Rosie-Huntington Whiteley, is clearly a SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute of Fox's character.
** She turned down the Film/2010 film initially - finding it too violent and misogynistic. She changed her mind when Josh Brolin came on board but still calls it her worst movie.
** She holds the rights for a potential movie adaptation of the comic book ComicBook/Fathom and intended to produce and star in it circa 2009, but has recently acknowledged that by now she has aged out of the role while the project remained in development hell.
* Yandere: Plays one in the music video for Music/MachineGunKelly's "Bloody Valentine".
