4	The [[https://www.discovery.com Discovery Channel]] (or simply as Discovery) is a cable television channel which began broadcasting in June [[TheEighties 1985]].

6	It used to be a ScienceShow oriented network. Nowadays, [[NetworkDecay it's kind of hard to tell]]. Most notable for being the network with ''Series/MythBusters'', ''Series/ManVsWild'', ''Series/DeadliestCatch'' and ''Series/DirtyJobs''. Also has a [[ThreateningShark Shark Week]] every year since 1987, usually in mid-summer. They often employ the DocuDrama approach to their shows.

10	It is the co-flagship brand and co-namesake of Creator/WarnerBrosDiscovery, which was created in 2022 with the merger of the former Discovery, Inc. and [=WarnerMedia=], which was spun-off from [=AT&T=] (which had essentially dug them into a hole during their tenure as owner). The combined entity has a scripted entertainment segment which includes Creator/WarnerBros, Creator/{{HBO}}, Creator/{{TBS}}, Creator/{{TNT}} and Creator/CartoonNetwork[=/=]Creator/AdultSwim. WBD's non-scripted business includes alongside this channel Creator/AnimalPlanet, Creator/DiscoveryFamily, Creator/{{TLC}}, HGTV and Creator/FoodNetwork (the last two entering the Discovery fold with the Scripps Networks Interactive acquisition in 2018). The company operates the streaming services '''Discovery+''' as well as Creator/{{Max}} (formerly HBO Max), a general entertainment service which includes content from the legacy Discovery brands.
