An American anime licensor originally founded in 1990, their big claims to fame were ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena'' and ''Literature/{{Slayers}}''. Now defunct, sadly.

Some of their earlier dubs were given new music scores, as was a common practice at the time. Though this is mostly due to those early dubs being handled by Creator/MangaEntertainment, who infamously did this back in their early days, to supposedly make them more accessible to an American audience and avoid paying to license the use of the original music. The Japanese and English soundtracks of ''Dominion: Tank Police'' can seem like two different shows.

Their divisions included "U.S. Manga Corps", "Software Sculptors", and "Anime 18", as well as a manga[=/=]comics division.

One of CPM's former employees, Justin Sevakis (who worked in subtitling and DVD editing), founded Anime News Network and now runs [=MediaOCD=] who does video authoring for several companies, most notably Creator/DiscotekMedia and Anime Limited.

Another former employee, John Sirabella, co-founded Creator/MediaBlasters and early on their hentai licenses were even distributed by CPM, but Media Blasters eventually split off from them.
