* ReplacementScrappy: {{Invoked|Trope}}. Droz started out as just a friend of the Road Warriors, but as Hawk's "personal demons" took control of him, Droz started angling to replace him entirely. Animal was oblivious and Hawk wasn't able to make his case, but the fans could see what Droz was up to and ''did not'' like him.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: Droz could vomit at will, which is why he got the nickname 'Puke.'

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/funaki_7311.jpg]]
* DarkHorseVictory: Few expected him to become number one contender to the cruiserweight championship. Fewer expected him to win it yet he did, held on to it, and successfully defended it in Tokyo.
* GagDub: As voiced by Howard Finkel "Indeed" in 2000-2001
* GratuitousEnglish: "Smackdown announcer number one!" He got better.
** '''''[[LargeHam INNNNNNNNNNDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDD!!!!]]'''''
* [[IKnowKarate I Know Kung Fu]]: When he came back from interviewing as Kung Fu Naki, after taking a little rap by R-Truth to heart.
* {{Jobber}}: One of the more well known examples, which was probably why Stephanie made him an interviewer. To elaborate, you can typically tell if a wrestler is going to job if they don't even get entrance music going into a match. Often times WWE will bring out guys not on the roster and sometimes not even in any long term relationship with the company, just to have them get beat by stars they have signed that have nothing else to do. Funaki lost to one of those guys, after he came out with entrance music even when the other guy didn't. Diamondback today is only remembered as that nobody who beat Funaki!
** To be fair, "Diamondback" was actually a WWE contracted star (Brian Kendrick) and did, in fact, get an entrance that night. It was still presented, however, as a major upset (despite Funaki jobbing everywhere else)
* LaughablyEvil: As part of Kaientai.
* RedBaron: "Kung Fu" Naki
