!!Sam
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sam_68.jpg]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/QuinnLord

A strange young trick-or-treater wearing a flour sack mask and orange pyjamas, Sam appears throughout the film [[ChekhovsGunman without much purpose.]] He originally appeared in Michael Dougherty's short "Seasons Greetings". However, it becomes clear there's more to Sam than there appears. He is revealed to be the Spirit of Halloween, laying the law down on those who break the rules of Halloween (wear a costume, give out candy, never extinguish a jack o'lantern before midnight) with killing intent and revealed to be an ImprobableWeaponUser and a KillerRabbit. His fight with Mr. Kreeg reveals him to be a pumpkin-headed demon of sorts, hence why he wears the mask.
----
* AffablyEvil: Sam isn't evil so much as he is on a [[BlueAndOrangeMorality different moral wavelength altogether]], but he's quite friendly to those that don't break the rules of Halloween.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: The spirit of the season itself, there to enforce its rules and regulations upon those ignorant or uninterested enough to stray off the path, and seeing to it that they pay for their folly. Fittingly, his name, Sam, can be interpreted as a shorter version of ''Samhain''.
* AntiVillain: He's not evil, but if you disrespect Halloween, you do so at your own peril.
* AwesomeBackpack: Sam carries a sack around with him which contains candy and weapons.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Sam appears to be a regular innocent trick-or-treater. Guess again.
* BigBadEnsemble: Sam is the most consistent (and arguably the most powerful) villain in the movie, but he's content to just attack people who break the rules, unlike SerialKiller Principal Wilkins or [[spoiler:Mr. Kreeg]].
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Sam attacks those who break the rules of Halloween and peacefully interacts with those who obey them. [[spoiler:He even spares Kreeg because Sam's own actions led to him unwittingly following the rules.]]
* CeilingCling: This proves that Sam's [[spoiler:not human]].
* ChekhovsGunman: Appears in very minor roles throughout the segments, but eventually is revealed to be [[spoiler:the spirit of Halloween itself]].
* CoolMask: His burlap sack mask with button eyes certainly looks impressive.
* CreepyChild: Much shorter than any of the adult characters (and some of the kids, for that matter), he presents himself as a young trick-or-treater in a very, very creepy mask.
* CuteAndPsycho: There is something infantile and childish about the way he behaves (whilst not killing people, anyway).
* DidYouJustHaveTeaWithCthulhu: Steven, Rhonda, and Mr. Kreeg to an extent share this trope with him, Steven and Mr. Kreeg giving him candy whilst Rhonda pretty much worships Samhain (the original form of Halloween). [[spoiler:He also observes the werewolves' surprise party.]]
* TheDogBitesBack: The [=FEARnet=] "Back to School" video has Sam [[spoiler:kill a group of kids who bullied him at the bus stop]].
* EarlyBirdCameo: Over ten years before the film was made, he was the main character in a short film titled ''Season's Greetings''.
* EldritchAbomination: ''Days of the Dead" takes him into this territory.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Despite not talking and generally causing several deaths in the movie, he will leave people alone if they follow Halloween tradition and did look a bit taken aback in The School Bus Massacre Revisited in comparison to Surprise Party.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Sam's a pretty mundane name for a person who goes about killing people for violating Halloween's rules. Then again, it’s likely a modernised and shortened version of the word Samhain...
* GigglingVillain: Only ever giggles or screams, in fact.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He’s present in all segments, but only has an active role in one. It helps that he’s the spirit of Halloween, so he's not technically a villain and more of a neutral entity that only attacks certain people for certain reasons.
* HalloweenEpisode: He exists for UsefulNotes/AllHallowsEve.
* HumanoidAbomination: Even though he’s a preternatural entity linked to Halloween itself, he looks like an little boy. However, he also displays an unnatural agility, is so tough that hurting him, let alone killing him, is a labor in and of itself, and if one were to take off his mask, they would find that his face resembles that of a pumpkin, revealing his true nature for all to see. His morality is also not the most conventional either, considering that those who disdain or ignore the tenets of Halloween are marked for a good beating, being outright killed, or possibly something even worse, while anyone who follows his rules need not fear him.
* ImplacableMan: Mr. Kreeg finds to his terror that there's no escaping him.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Sam carries a sack of candy with him... which he uses as weapons. He [[spoiler:attacks Kreeg]] with a razor blade in a chocolate bar, and then turns a lollipop into a bladed weapon which he uses to [[spoiler:kill Emma]].
* IronicNurseryTune: ''"Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat..."''
* KickTheDog: Literally. It's implied that he harms Mr. Kreeg's attack dog.
* KidsAreCruel: He can be vicious, but only if people break or ignore the rules of Halloween.
* KillerRabbit: Actually played for laughs in an Easter trailer promoting [=FEARnet=]'s future 24 hour marathon of the film.
* LittleMissAlmighty: GenderFlip. He is a young trick-or-treater who (in the [=FEARnet=] promos) still goes to school, while also being [[spoiler:the spirit of Halloween itself]].
* MascotVillain: The face of the movie and its most marketable character.
* MeaningfulName: Sam is actually short for "Samhain", the Celtic god of death and harvest, and the original form of Halloween. Even more meaningful when it's revealed that he [[spoiler:''is'' the spirit of Halloween]].
* NeverHurtAnInnocent: "Innocent" as in those who obey the rules of Halloween. Those people he'll leave alone.
* NightmareFace: Sam's face is really [[spoiler:a skull-like pumpkin head]].
* NighInvulnerable: He can survive [[spoiler:having a bullet blown through his head]].
* NobleDemon: He'll only go after those who disrespect Halloween tradition or attack him first, but if he does come after you, pray to God he's in a forgiving mood. He's also not above charitability either, so he can be a rather nice fellow at times, like when he plays catch with the guy who lost his loved ones in order to console him over his loss.
* PetTheDog:
** He shows his charitable side in some of the [=FEARnet=] promos, but especially the Father's Day short (where he plays catch with a man depressed over the apparent loss of his family) and Winter short (where he plays in the snow with a girl after helping her build a snowman).
** He also gives Rhonda some non-verbal approval at the end of The School Bus Massacre Revisited.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Despite being a wee little lad, he's able to easily overpower and kill teenagers and adults much bigger than he is.
* PokingDeadThingsWithAStick: In the flashback to the "Halloween School Bus Massacre," Sam is seen on the outskirts of town, poking at a dead crow with a stick.
%%* PsychicPowers
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:He's a pumpkin-headed serial killer-like spirit of Halloween.]]
* RoomFullOfCrazy: Sam decorates Mr. Kreeg's bedroom with a flaming pumpkin, and blood written across the walls and ceilings of the IronicNurseryTune.
* ScaryScarecrows: He's dressed like a scarecrow and is indeed intimidating and creepy.
* ScaryStitches: His mask has stitches for added creepiness.
* VocalDissonance: He doesn't speak, but the only sounds to come from him are childish giggles.
* TheVoiceless: Sam doesn't say a word aside from giggling and screaming.

[[folder:Main Characters in "The Principal"]]

!!Principal Steven Wilkins
->'''Played By:''' Creator/DylanBaker

A seemingly innocent school principal who loves Halloween, Steven Wilkins actually ''hates'' those who disrespect the customs of Halloween and kills those who break the rules. He has a son, Billy, who he appears to be molding into his DaddysLittleVillain. [[spoiler:He later moonlights as a vampire-like man wearing a hooded cloak, and stalks Laurie. Unfortunately, this doesn't go well when Laurie is revealed to be a werewolf wanting her first kill, and Steven is the unlucky victim.]]
----
* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:He's a SerialKiller and implied rapist that gets offed by the girl he attempted to attack. It's ''very'' satisfying to watch Laurie kill him.]]
* BeneathTheMask: Behind the seemingly wholesome suburban dad and school principal, is a depraved serial killer with a knack for targeting children, and is apparently raising his son to be like him.
* BuriedAlive: He buries dead kids in his backyard, and a few who are still alive.
* ChekhovsGun: The chocolate bar Steven gives Sam is later used to fight Mr. Kreeg.
* DeadlyPrank: Steven poisons Charlie and acts like it was meant to be a Halloween trick.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Is shown to act like a Doting Dad towards Billy.
* FamilyValuesVillain: Scolds his son for using the word 'asshole'.
* FauxAffablyEvil: In his everyday Principal guise, he comes off as charming. Outside of it, though, he shows his true colors.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: He wears glasses and is a horrible person.
* FreudianExcuse: Downplayed, but he mentions that he learned his lessons from his father, suggesting his father groomed him like he did Billy.
* HateSink: Given how he's a serial killer whose main targets were children, it's pretty clear that the audience isn't supposed to side with him.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:He gets killed breaking the same rule as Charlie: forgetting [[RazorApples things aren't always]] as [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent they seem.]]]]
* IronicEcho:
** Mr. Kreeg says "Screw you!" to Steven when he wishes him happy Halloween. Steven uses this on Mr. Kreeg later, unaware he is being attacked by Sam.
** [[spoiler:Steven also says to Laurie "My my, what big eyes you have" while he's attacking her. She says those exact words back to him before she eats him.]]
* MalevolentMaskedMen: [[spoiler:When he becomes the vampire stalker.]]
* MeaningfulBackgroundEvent: Steven can be seen [[spoiler:following Laurie around the celebrations for most of the film]].
* MuggingTheMonster: [[spoiler:He attempts to make Laurie his next victim. Shame she happened to be a werewolf.]]
* SadistTeacher: Only to those kids who mistreat Halloween. Charlie gets the worst of his wrath by being tricked into eating poisoned chocolate.
* SerialKiller: He's murdered multiple children and probably several women.
* TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse: Playing a psycho who manages to blend in with normal people is Dylan Baker's specialty, really.
* VampireBitesSuck: [[spoiler:Steven kills a woman while dressed as a vampire using false fangs for sheer fun.]]
* VillainProtagonist: The scene of him trying to hide the fact that he's burying kids in his backyard feels like a wacky sitcom moment.
* WouldHurtAChild: His EstablishingCharacterMoment is him poisoning a kid to death.

!!Billy Wilkins
->'''Played By:''' Creator/ConnorChristopherLevins

Billy is Steven's loud, but beloved child who loves spending time with his father, particularly on Halloween. He's very enthusiastic about carving the jack o'lantern, actually Charlie's severed head. He also considers [[WesternAnimation/ItsTheGreatPumpkinCharlieBrown Charlie Brown]] to be an asshole.
----

* CheerfulChild: He's pretty endearing despite being a [[spoiler:lunatic]].
* ConditionedToAcceptHorror: [[spoiler:He really enjoys carving "pumpkins" with his dad.]]
* CreepyChild: [[spoiler:He doesn't see anything wrong with helping his dad carve a jack-o-lantern from the severed head of one of his victims.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Surprisingly played straight, as [[spoiler:Steven really does love him and the threatening comments were just talk.]]
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Played on when Billy is ''dressed'' as his father at the end of the film.
* MissingMom: It's implied that Billy's mother is gone because his father killed her.
* OffingTheOffspring: [[spoiler:Steven looks like he is going to kill Billy after being annoyed by him, but [[SubvertedTrope actually]] takes the first stab at Charlie's head.]]

!!Charlie
->'''Played By:''' Creator/BrettKelly

A FatBastard kid who uses Halloween to cause mischief and steal candy, even though he's diabetic. His attempt to steal candy from Steven's porch results in Steven poisoning him. His head is then removed and used as a jack o'lantern.
----
* AssholeVictim: Downplayed. While he may be a bully who stole candy and smashed up jack-o-lanterns out of spite, he didn't really deserve to die the way he did. His death scene serves more to demonstrate Principal's Wilkins' true nature than to show Charlie getting his comeuppance.
* TheBully: He's so hated that Sam flips him off in a deleted scene.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:Post-mortem, and not shown, but when Billy and Steven start carving his head, Billy asks his father to help him with the eyes.]]
* FatBastard: He's obese and unpleasant.
* OffWithHisHead: His head gets cut off and carved into a jack-o-lantern after his death.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: A combo of blood and chocolate is shot down Steven's front porch by Charlie.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Main Characters in "The School Bus Massacre Revisited"]]

!!Macy
->'''Played By:''' Creator/BrittMcKillip
----
* AlphaBitch: She has the air of an unpleasant clique leader.
* AssholeVictim: Because of how mean she was to Rhonda, she was asking for it when [[spoiler:the zombies of the victims of the School Bus Massacre killed her]].
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She's dressed like an angel, but her behavior is anything but angelic.
* TheBully: She [[spoiler:scares Rhonda out of her wits for shits and giggles]].
* CowardlyLion: She might be a sneering bully, but to her credit, she does try to [[spoiler:rescue Sara when she's dragged off to her death; Schrader has to hold Macy back]].
* DeadlyPrank: Her prank on [[spoiler:Rhonda]] works too well, causing everyone to briefly worry that they may have accidentally killed her.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:Scares Rhonda out of her mind with a prank based on the School Bus Massacre and ends up being killed by the undead children who were victims of the incident in question.]]
* KidsAreCruel: [[spoiler:Scaring someone to the point that they end up crying is definitely beyond the pale.]]
* LackOfEmpathy: She shows no emotion when telling the story about the school bus kids, and almost seems to relish the details. [[spoiler:She also has no remorse for her cruel prank on Rhonda like Schrader does, or even unease like Sara and Chip do. She's completely cold-hearted.]]
* {{Sadist}}: She takes a sadistic enjoyment in the story of how a bunch of handicapped kids were murdered, and plays a cruel prank on Rhonda just to see her cry.
* TemptingFate: Macy irritably kicking the last lit jack-o'-lantern into the water is certainly an unfavourable portent.

!!Schrader
->'''Played By:''' Creator/JeanLucBilodeau
----
* AssholeVictim: Subverted. [[spoiler:While he may have been rude towards Rhonda and played a hand in Macy's cruel prank on her, he did feel bad about it afterwards and didn't deserve to die in that manner.]]
* DeadlyPrank: He and everyone else briefly worries that the prank on [[spoiler:Rhonda may have accidentally killed her]].
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: [[spoiler:Gets killed immediately after feeling bad for his part in the prank that hurt Rhonda.]]
* HockeyMaskAndChainsaw: His costume is a hockey mask and a chainsaw.
* HoneyTrap: A mild, tween, male version, [[spoiler:targeted toward Rhonda]].
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:For his hand in Macy's prank, he ends up murdered by the undead children from the School Bus Massacre, who were the basis of the prank.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:He's the only one to genuinely feel bad for what he and his friends did to Rhonda. He even stays with her for a while to comfort her, though Sara and Chip look uncomfortable as well. It's not enough to save him, though.]]
* NiceGuy: Friendly to Rhonda and seems to genuinely like her, [[spoiler:but ultimately, not nice enough]].

!!Sara
->'''Played By:''' Creator/IsabelleDeluce
----
* AssholeVictim: Downplayed.[[spoiler: She may have been cruel to Rhonda, but she certainly didn't deserve to die the way she did.]]
* BetaBitch: Much nicer than her alpha, [[spoiler:but not quite an InnocentBetaBitch.]]
* BracesOfOrthodonticOverkill: She wears her braces like headgear.
* DeadlyPrank: She and the others are initially concerned that their prank [[spoiler:may have killed Rhonda]].
* TheGrays: Her costume is the typical depiction of the bulbous-headed alien with almond-shaped eyes of pure blackness.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:The undead children of the School Bus Massacre kill her and the others for their cruel prank on Rhonda revolving around the School Bus Massacre.]]
* KidsAreCruel: [[spoiler:Had no qualms with scaring Rhonda to the point of tears.]]

!!Chip
->'''Played By:''' Creator/AlbertoGhisi
----
* AssholeVictim: Downplayed. [[spoiler:He assisted the other kids in their prank on Rhonda, but he didn't deserve to die.]]
* DeadlyPrank: He and the others are initially concerned that their prank [[spoiler:may have killed Rhonda]].
* DirtyCoward: [[spoiler:Tries to save his own skin and leave Rhonda in peril.]]
* KarmicDeath: He gets killed by [[spoiler:the school bus kids after being involved in a prank that traumatically scared Rhonda]].
* KidsAreCruel: He [[spoiler:was an accomplice in a rather cruel prank on Rhonda]].
* {{Pirate}}: His Halloween costume is that of a stereotypical pirate.
* SmarterThanYouLook: It’s subtly implied that he has caught onto Steven Wilkins' latest murder, judging by his unsettlement towards him. However, Chip is still the youngest and most naive of the bullies.

!!Rhonda
->'''Played By:''' Creator/SammTodd
----
* AmbiguousInnocence: [[spoiler:It's never stated if Rhonda left the others in the quarry with the intention of killing them or left them behind because she didn't believe their hysterical claims. In the ending of the film, she appears catatonic while she walks back home from the event; she didn't look happy with leaving the others behind and when she was nearly run over by the werewolves, she didn't even respond to it.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: [[spoiler:She may not have been as mean as her tormentors, but she still had no problem with leaving them to die.]]
* BlindWithoutEm: She needs her glasses to see.
* TheCloudCuckooLanderWasRight: Her interest in Halloween lore and superstitions probably saved her life.
* CuteWitch: Her costume is a witch.
* DeadlyPrank: [[spoiler:She's the target, although it's subverted since she just hit her head against a rock. In fact, she's actually the only one of the children to survive.]]
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler:She leaves her tormentors to the school bus kids.]]
* IdiotSavant: What the other kids call her, although they don't really have any idea what's "wrong" with her.
* TranquilFury: [[spoiler:Acts completely nonplussed when leaving the others to die at the hands of the zombie children.]]

!!The School Bus Kids

Eight disturbed children who were sent to their watery deaths thirty years ago. They’re brought back from the dead by Sam to exact their GhostlyGoals on Halloween.
----
* AbusiveParents: Their parents ''paid'' [[spoiler:Mr. Kreeg]] to drown their children so they could be free of their burdens.
* BackFromTheDead: Thanks to [[spoiler:Macy kicking a jack o'lantern into the lake the bus fell into, they come back as zombies]].
* BuryYourDisabled: They were mentally disabled and all got killed.
* BusFullOfInnocents: They drowned in a bus.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: They were perfectly harmless children before they died.
* CreepyChild: There are eight undead kids, and all are wearing their Halloween costumes and desiring revenge on their tormentor.
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler:After 30 years, they return to exact revenge on their killer.]]
* ExtremeMeleeRevenge: [[spoiler:Judging from the comic book detailing Kreeg's death at their hands, it looks like they took their time taking him apart for his participation in their murder.]]
* GhostlyGoals: To get revenge on those who wronged them, and those who torment other kids who are "different".
* IdiotSavant: Implied in the case of at least one of them, who is heard reciting pi in a flashback.
* PreMortemOneLiner: Before they [[spoiler:kill Mr. Kreeg]].
-->''"Trick or treat."''
* RevenantZombie: They're not mindless husks controlled by the will of another; they can speak [[ItCanThink and definitely know what they’re doing]].
* TranquilFury: [[spoiler:When confronting Kreeg, they give off the demeanour of run-of-the-mill trick or treaters with a taste for the macabre, even holding out a candy bag. But it's clear despite their somewhat jovial if flat attitude that they intend on making Kreeg pay in blood for what he did to them, and as the comic book shows, [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge they would go on to do exactly that.]]]]
* TheUndead: They're zombies.
* UndeadChild: They're children who have come back as zombies.
* WeHelpTheHelpless: A possible interpretation for their [[spoiler:murder of Rhonda's tormentors]] is that they're willing to help out anyone in trouble who they come across.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Main Characters in "Surprise Party"]]

!!Laurie
->'''Played By:''' Creator/AnnaPaquin
[[FinalGirl A young, pretty girl]], Laurie wishes to spend this Halloween trying to have her "first time". She's accompanied by her older sister Danielle, and two other friends, who are all going to a party together. She spends much of the film wandering around dressed as Literature/LittleRedRidingHood until she's attacked by a vampire, [[spoiler:actually Steven. However, she turns the tables on him and reveals she is in fact a werewolf, and her first time is actually killing and eating a man]].
----
* BewareTheQuietOnes: She's a shy, introverted girl [[spoiler:who's also a werewolf]].
* {{Fanservice}}: Anna Paquin dressed as a nursery rhyme character is likely to attract some people...until the FanDisservice that occurs later in the film.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Sure, she killed and ate a serial killer, but given her involvement in the "party" where plenty of innocent men were devoured, one can't help but wonder if she got off a little too easy.]]
* LittleDeadRidingHood: She dresses as Little Red Riding Hood in the film.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: [[spoiler:She's a werewolf who changes by ripping off her human skin to reveal her wolf form.]]
* PayEvilUntoEvil: [[spoiler:She kills and eats Steven Wilkins, which is ''exactly'' what the sick freak deserved]].
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:The fact that she and the other women are werewolves and that they actually eat the people they date is probably the most surprising reveal of the film.]]
* ShoutOut: Her name may be a nod to ''Film/{{Halloween 1978}}''[='=]s FinalGirl, Laurie Strode.
* VillainProtagonist: She unapologetically helps her sister and friends [[spoiler:kill people, so she qualifies as an evil protagonist in her story. Although in her case, [[AssholeVictim her victim definitely had it coming]]]].

!!Danielle
->'''Played By:''' Creator/LaurenLeeSmith
----

* CoolBigSis: She's close to Laurie and tries to look out for her.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Though Wilkins easily deserved his fate, one can't help but think that Danielle and her cohorts got off a ''little'' too easy for the innocent men that they killed.]]
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: [[spoiler:She's a werewolf who changes into wolf form by ripping off her human form's skin.]]
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:Turns out she and the other women she's with are werewolves.]]

* AmbiguouslyBi: She once [[spoiler:ate]] a woman, and mentions not having any gender preference, despite the group traditionally going for men.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Though Wilkins easily deserved his fate, one can't help but think that Maria and her cohorts got off a ''little'' too easy for the innocent men that they killed.]]
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: [[spoiler:Changes into wolf form by ripping off her human skin.]]
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:She and the other women are revealed to be werewolves and their dates are actually chosen for sustenance.]]

Steven's neighbour, an aging {{Jerkass}} recluse with a DarkAndTroubledPast. He has an AngryGuardDog named Spite (seriously), and arms himself with a shotgun if there's trouble. In the film, Mr. Kreeg hates Halloween and gets an unwelcome visit from Sam, resulting in a HopelessBossFight with the supernatural child. [[spoiler:It's revealed that he is the bus driver who planned on driving eight special-needs children to their deaths thirty or so years ago, being the only survivor after the school bus the kids were on was accidentally driven into a lake by one of the scared children. Mr. Kreeg survives his encounter with Sam, but is later visited by the undead bus children, who proceed to kill him.]]
----
* AngryGuardDog: He has a small dog named Spite who he uses to scare away trick-or-treaters.
* AssholeVictim: He [[spoiler:accepted a bribe to murder eight children. Years later, those children murder ''him''. Yeah, he had it coming]].
* ChekhovsGun:
** The chocolate bar Mr. Kreeg puts down before Sam arrives saves his life.
** A more literal example is his early reference to owning a shotgun. Of course, the shotgun later is used to fight Sam.
* CoolOldGuy: He puts up a good fight against Sam, despite falling down a flight of stairs, and getting glass stuck in his hands.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: The reason why he's a shut-in and hates Halloween.
* TheDriver: [[spoiler:He drove the school bus that the kids drowned on.]]
* {{Hikikomori}}: He spends all his time indoors.
* HopelessBossFight: He had no chance of defeating Sam in the end.
* {{Jerkass}}: He’s ''not'' a nice man.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:After three decades of not receiving repercussions for his act of pitching a school bus full of disabled kids into the nearby lake, he ends up reaping what he had sown that day when said kids return from the dead and [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge get the payback they have likely longed for all those years of festering on the lakebed]]]].
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Suffers this twice over the course of the film. The first one is dealt by Sam, but despite beating him bloody, he lets him live, albeit thanks to a chocolate bar. [[spoiler:The second is from the children from the school bus he pitched into the lake, and they aren’t so lenient.]]
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: [[spoiler:After surviving his encounter with Sam, he ends up getting a new appreciation for Halloween and begins following its rules...only for the victims of the school bus incident that he took part in to arrive on his front doorstep and tear him to pieces later on that night.]]
* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: "I've got an NRA membership in my pocket, and a shotgun over the fireplace!"

!!Emma and Henry
->'''Played By:''' Creator/LeslieBibb & Creator/TahmohPenikett

A loving couple who have an unpleasant Halloween with their various run-ins with the other characters, plus Emma wearing a bulky robot costume. Returning home, Henry runs inside to watch a sex tape whilst Emma clears up the Halloween decorations before midnight, resulting in Sam paying her a visit and killing her by slashing her throat with a broken lollipop.
----
* ContinuityCameo: Emma and Henry appear throughout the film, often helping to establish continuity in the AnachronicOrder.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Since Emma is chronologically the last person to die in the film, Sam is so annoyed at this point with rulebreakers that he slashes her throat and then cuts her body up and hangs it on display about the garden.
* DeadStarWalking: Emma dies before the opening credits, although chronologically, she's the last casualty of the night.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Especially compared to the other characters, Emma's only crime appears to be that she tried to put away the decorations too early. She just had the misfortune of doing so in front of Sam after Sam was already having a rather stressful night.
* LazyHusband: Apparently, he sleeps for half the day, plays video games for the other, and likes watching sex tapes.
* RobotGirl: Invoked, but she's only wearing a robot costume.

!!Shadow Man

A mysterious man shrouded in darkness who stalks Sam in the short ''Season's Greetings''. He follows Sam into an alley way, and appears to beat him up. That is, until Sam emerges carrying the man in his sack. Does not appear in the film proper, but is featured in the ''Season's Greetings'' short.
----
* CurbStompBattle: Gets the short end of the stick when he tries to take on Sam.
* FateWorseThanDeath: Now that Sam's got his hands on him, he's certain to suffer immensely.
* MuggingTheMonster: Let’s just say he learns the hard way why you don’t pick a fight with a HumanoidAbomination.

!!Princess Girl
->'''Played By:''' Creator/MollyLamont
An odd little girl who does not appear in the movie, but does have the main role in the ''Trick 'r Treat: 4 rules'' short Vignettes. With long wavy blond hair, she wears a white and pink princess dress and a paper crown upon her head with only socks on her feet. She is usually seen ominously staring at their camera as bodies litter the area around her and she remains staring and smiling at the viewer. She seems indifferent to the terrifying sights that surround her and is shown to be friends with Sam.
----
* AmbiguousInnocence: She is the only living human that is present in the scene she is in; it is unclear whether or not she caused the deaths or if she is just a indifferent survivor.
* BeastAndBeauty: in Rule #2 Pass Out Treats, the little princess is seen walking past a dead body and going up to meet Sam. She gives him a candy bar and they hold hands, walking out of the dead woman’s house.
* CreepyChild: she seems very out of place with her disturbing lack of reaction of the dead bodies that are always littered around her.
* CreepyCute: Despite the horror around her, she is adorable in her little princess dress.
* DissonantSerenity: Bodies everywhere? No big deal.
* EmotionlessGirl: She never shows any emotion at her surroundings.
* EvenEvilCanBeLoved: The little princess is shown to be very kind to Sam and they seem to be good friends.
* NastyParty: in Rule #4 - Check your candy, we see a group of children sitting around a set dinner table of sweets all seemingly dead and slumped over in their seats. Not even the maid survived. This does not stop the little princess from having a small bite, however.
* ShipTease: Many fans assume that the affectionate sharing and hand-holding in the Passing out Treats shorts might be a case of creepy PuppyLove.
* SoleSurvivor: The only human alive in each segment, probably because she was the only one to follow the rules of Halloween.
* StepfordSmiler: She is always seen happily smiling at the camera.
