!Autobot Rescue Force Sigma-17
[[folder:In General]]
* {{Action Duo}}s: The human-robot duos. One is an ordinary human [[BadassNormal trained for search and rescue]], while the other is a [[TheBigGuy huge Autobot with superhuman strength]].
* AllAPartOfTheJob: Though [[KnightInSourArmor some members]] of the team are a little less willing to put up with the acquired scrap that comes with having [[TheMasquerade to work with humans.]]
* {{Ambadassador}}s: Optimus even assigned them as ambassadors of the humans.
* BadassCrew: A non-combat version, while they aren't trained to go to war like the other Autobots. They're still a force to be reckoned with thanks to the natural strength of being a Cybertronian, they face their fair share of threats and antagonists but still manage to take them down.
* CarFu: When a threat comes up, the bots are willing to use their vehicle modes to ram any opponents.
%%* ChromaticArrangement: The bots fit this trope to a tee.
* CoolShades: All of the Rescuebots (except for Boulder) have built-in retractable visors which they use to hide their identities.
* FourPhilosophyEnsemble: Heatwave (The Cynic), Chase (The Realist), Boulder (The Optimist), and Blades (The Conflicted).
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Heatwave (The Rational), Chase (Melancholic), Boulder (Sanguine), and Blades (Phlegmatic).
* {{Humongous Mecha}}s[=/=]MechanicalLifeforms: This ''is'' ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' after all.
* LastOfHisKind: They may very well be all that remain of the Rescue Bots.
* {{Meaningful Name}}s: ''Heatwave'' is a ''fire'' truck[[note]]it also applies to his other alt-form, a ''fireboat''[[/note]], ''Chase'' is a police car who pursues criminals, ''Boulder'' is a bulldozer who's tough and strong, and ''Blades'' is a helicopter propelled by rotors. Also ''Blurr'' is a race car, ''Salvage'' is a garbage truck, ''Quickshadow'' is a spy, and ''High Tide'' is a submarine.
* {{Nice Guy}}s: All the bots except [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Heatwave]], really.
* PapaWolf: The Rescue Bots are very protective towards their humans, especially Cody. You could even say that Cody has ''five'' daddies. [[ThatCameOutWrong Wait...]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: They were around since before Cybertron was abandoned but have been in stasis for millions of years
* RedOniBlueOni: Heatwave is hot-headed, while Chase is calm and collected.
** Also, Boulder is a friendly and emotional fellow, while Blades is a timid and anxious one.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Blades is sensitive and Heatwave is manly.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: In the cartoon, Cody, Charlie, Optimus, Bumblebee, and the original four Rescue Bots were given ''significant'' redesigns compared to the then-contemporary toys and storybooks.

-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/SteveBlum

A Rescue-Bot that transforms into a fire engine and is partnered with Kade Burns (he is also the leader of the Rescue Bots). He dislikes the fact the Rescue Bots have to pretend they are mindless robots. He has a temper at times, but understands the need to place saving lives above all else.
-----
* BadButt: Heatwave is the biggest badass on the show. However, he was not designed for combat and only has his fists, [[ImprobableWeaponUser a fire hose]] and other fire fighting equipment at his disposal.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: In Season 4, [[spoiler:he gets his wish of no longer needing to hide his true nature from the Griffin Rock populace, however this comes with the caveat of the team becoming popular and having lots of attention drawn towards them. Chase even lampshades it by name dropping the trope]].
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Big Guy to Kade's Little Guy.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: Is thoroughly irritated at being forced to act like a robotic drone and relinquish all the praise and credit for his heroism to his human partner.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Technically, he has no ''actual'' weapons, so he uses either [[MakingASplash water]] or his other tools.
* InNameOnly: The first Heatwave was an alternate-universe Decepticon missile truck who is generally pleasant - if a little scatterbrained - to be around, even if he isn't exactly motivated. This Heatwave is instead an Autobot fire truck in the main dimension, and despite being more motivated and composed has a far grouchier attitude that makes him rather unpleasant to be with. In fact, almost all future incarnations of Heatwave take after the Rescue Bot incarnation, which was probably helped by the fact that the Shattered Glass Heatwave was a ''very'' obscure character.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's the grouchiest of the group, but he still has good intentions and at times proves that he cares about his fellow Rescue Bots and the Burns family.
%%* TheKirk
* KillItWithFire: Heatwave's new energize tool can fire both water and fire.
* KnightInSourArmor: Thing is, Heatwave ''does'' believe in truth, justice and all that other stuff. He's also very devoted to the Rescue Bot cause. He just doesn't like not being recognized by ''anybody'' for his hard work and dedication, hence the sour.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: The only red member of the group and also it's leader.
* TheLeader
* MakingASplash: He uses a fire hose for putting out fires and [[ImprobableWeaponUser kicking some tailpipe!]]
* MidSeasonUpgrade: [[spoiler: In season 2, he learns to be a Triple Changer and gets a fireboat as his third form.]]
* PapaWolf: Never, ever, EVER threaten Cody or Frankie in front of him. The Morbot found out the hard way.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Red coat, yellow lights, and blue windows.
* RedIsHeroic: He's colored red and is the leader of the Rescue Bots.
* RefusedByTheCall: It's implied that he'd very much like to be with Team Prime, contributing directly to the war effort, but Optimus gently turns him down.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: He's quite tall due to obviously being a Cybertronian, he's got a pretty sour and dark dispositon, and has lots of snark to dispense.

-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/DCDouglas

A Rescue-Bot that transforms into a police car and is partnered with Chief Charlie Burns. Chase has a "by-the-book" personality and tends to fuss over any new concept that violates any law he is familiar with, though at times his sense of humor and understanding emerges. He gets along well with his human partner Chief Charlie Burns.
-----
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Big Guy to Chief's Little Guy.
* ByTheBookCop: A stickler for following rules and laws to the letter.
** Since he has no frame of reference to gauge the spirit of the law, he's glad to be paired with Charlie Burns, who knows everyone in town.
* CannotTellAJoke: Chase's attempts at humor almost ''always'' fall flat, and his choice of vocabulary means that even ''classic'' jokes aren't effective whenever he uses them.
* TheComicallySerious: Comes with showing little emotion and constantly speaking in a flat-sounding and somewhat robotic voice.
* CoolCar: His alt-mode is a muscle car-like police cruiser.
* CrazyPrepared: His main specialty is caution, which means that he would never go on a dangerous mission without any sort of backup plan. This comes into play when a task to distribute dangerous chemicals to Dr. Greene goes wrong, which Chase expected would happen and asked him to develop a gas which would disperse the chemical in case of an accident.
* IGaveMyWord: Following ByTheBookCop above, he '''''never''''' disobeys orders from Chief Burns. This comes into play when a [[PoorCommunicationKills corrupted phone call by Cody]] led the Rescue Bots into thinking that they were under threat by a bear. Chase outright refuses to come due to prior orders, but begrudgingly follows them, only to still keep to his orders by stopping at the point he was told not to pass. Because of this, he wasn't affected by the EMP zone by accident.
* InNameOnly: The first Chase was a Throttlebot braggart who could and would tell a yarn over the most mundane of things, is very sociable when it comes to others, and is generally impulsive in action. This Chase, however, is far more patient and is generally strict about honor and regulations, and in contrast, is relatively robotic when it comes to relations with others.
* TheLancer: Seems to be the closest thing the bots have to a "second in command".
* MayorPain: [[spoiler: After the Rescue Bots reveal their true nature in Season 4, he runs against Luskey and wins. However, [[TheSpock his]] [[ByTheBookCop own]] [[RulesLawyer quirks]] didn't make him any better, so he resigns and Luskey resumes the post.]]
* MyGreatestFailure: Regrets that he wasn't able to defeat the Energon eater.
* NoSenseOfHumor: Chase couldn't tell a decent joke to save his life, much less understand one.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Despite being far more robotic in behavior than his teammates, Chase has let loose more than once on multiple occasions.
* RulesLawyer: He always obeys the rules. It comes into use in the episode "Rules and Regulations" where he listens to Chief Burns in not following him, and as a result stays active while the rest of the team are deactivated in an electric dead zone. He then uses all the instructions he learned from camping manuals to assist them with help from the rest of the Burns'.
* ShockAndAwe: Is able to create electricity in his stegosaurus alt form.
* TheSmartGuy: He tends to be the one to point out the most sensible solutions.
* TheSpock: Though a more compassionate version than some others, coupled with a strong sense of morality, if his immediate disregard of the rules to stop a potentially dangerous and/or lethal toxic waste spill in "The Alien Invasion of Griffin Rock" is any indication.
* ShieldBash: He doesn't actually have a shield, but he's generally seen preferring to use forearm bashes or using his energize claw tool as a bludgeon.
* SpockSpeak: Speaks in a very stoic and intelligent way, although this tends to make him TheComicallySerious.
* UndercoverCopReveal: Went undercover to see what Evan and Miles were planning... without telling the others.

-->'''Voiced by''': Imari Williams

A Rescue-Bot that transforms into a bulldozer and is partnered with Graham Burns. Boulder is fascinated with Earth culture and is always eager to learn more from books and other sources. He has a very kind and friendly demeanor.
-----
* AlienArtsAreAppreciated: He's a big fan of painting.
* BadassBookworm
* TheBigGuy: He tends to be the toughest of the group.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Big Guy to Graham's Little Guy
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: Loves animals, flowers, and painting.
* CanonForeigner: While this applies to the entire team in general, Boulder is the only bot of the main four not to reuse a name from a past character.
* DitzyGenius: Had some trouble processing that a ''lion'' wasn't exactly the best choice for a TeamPet.
* {{Expy}}: Design-wise he's very similar to Bulkhead from ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'', sharing his love and intrigue for both art and human culture.
* EyeColorChange: They change from yellow (normal, talking mode) to blue (idle, robot mode), to make himself appear like a machine he changes his eye color due to not having the retractable visor like the others.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: He very much enjoys how different Earth is from Cybertron and has an appreciation for all life on the planet.
* GeniusBruiser: Boulder has brains and brawns a plenty, working alongside Graham to use their engineering and construction skills during rescues.
-->"Hydraulic conductivity is ''fascinating!''"
* GentleGiant: One of the bigger bots on the team and is also very gentle.
* ManChild: Loves to play in the snow.
* NatureLover: Loves nature and gardening.
* NatureLovingRobot: He's quite fond of nature.
* SmarterThanYouLook: He is surprisingly intelligent for his size.

[[caption-width-right:300:"Fear is a great motivator."]]

-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/ParveshCheena

A Rescue-Bot that transforms into a rescue helicopter and is partnered with Dani Burns. Back on Cybertron, Blades had a land-based vehicle mode and is not used to flying, thus culminating in a fairly significant fear of heights. Out of the Rescue Bots, he is the most expressive emotionally.
-----
* AcrophobicBird: He never had the ability to fly until he landed on Earth. He was ''not'' happy about the change.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: As several of the other tropes show, he's ''very far'' removed from the violent sociopath his G1 namesake was, being a genuinely nice CowardlyLion.
* BadassAdorable: The cutest, softest, sweetest of all the Rescue Bots, still won't hesitate to put his spark on the line to save people.
* ButtMonkey: Is usually the but of jokes due to either his cowardice or being a huge goofball.
* CoolShades: Appears to have a pair of aviator sunglasses in robot mode.
* CowardlyLion: He scares easily, but he always helps people when they need it.
* CuteMachines: The entire team is arguably cute, due to either the cartoon's ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic''-esque aesthetic or each of their endearing [[BruiserWithASoftCenter personalities]], but Blades takes the cake. Seriously, he reaches dangerously ''WesternAnimation/WallE'' levels of cuteness from time to time.
* GenreSavvy: Horror movies have taught him that you should never split up the group.t.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: The Huge Guy to Dani's Tiny Girl.
* HumanityEnsues: A temporary and non-supernatural variant: Depressed by the fact that he can't get promoted in Lad Pioneers due to the event occurring on the mainland, Graham thinks of a solution and designs a human form for Blades using a portable hologram emitter based on technology used to hide the Mainland Training Centre.
* InkSuitActor: {{Downplayed|Trope}}: His human disguise resembles a younger version of Parvesh.
* InNameOnly: One of the most extreme cases for the entire Autobot cast; The original Blades is part of a combiner team, and despite being a ''rescue'' vehicle he's a dirty fighter who would rather fight than perform his typical duties. ''This'' Blades is ''very'' far removed, as not only can he not combine with others, but most of his other traits are very much the ''antithesis'' to the G1 original.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Feminine Boy to Dani's Masculine Girl. A Non-romantic example.
* RealMenWearPink: Finds Priscilla's Cathy doll from "Spellbound" to be charming.
* TokenFlyer: Blades is the only member of the team to have a flying vehicle mode, in the form of a helicopter - though he only gained it after they arrived on Earth ([[IronicFear and he turns out to be afraid of heights]]). While several new Autobots are introduced over the series, none of them can turn into flying vehicles, keeping Blades unique. In season 3, the team gain the ability to transform into dinobot forms, with Blades still being the only one whose new form (a pterodactyl) can fly.
* WeakButSkilled: The smallest and lightest of all bots on the team, but he makes up for it by being the only one capable of flight.

[[caption-width-right:250:"Ah, ya got gumption, blip, I'll give ya that. I hate gumption! So stay out of things that aren't your concern, ya hear me?"]]

-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MichaelBell

A crusty old sea dog and super tough drill instructor who doesn't suffer fools gladly. He transforms into a submarine and can also combine with his ship for a super mode. He is an old friend of Optimus Prime and instructs the Rescue Bots in sea rescue tactics.
-----
* TheAce: He's a master of marine operations and rescue.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: Heroic variant, he owns a large ship that he combines with to become a robot that can rival in size with either [[HumongousMecha Omega Supreme]] or any combiners.
* CanonForeigner: He is the first and currently ''only'' character to ever bear this name.
* CastingGag: High Tide is an elderly character who has a larger robot mode and is an old associate of Optimus Prime; His voice actor, Michael Bell, has voiced numerous Autobots, two combiner team members (including First Aid, a member of an Autobot combiner team), and like Peter Cullen (who once again voices Optimus Prime) is a ''Transformers'' veteran (Cullen also voiced Streetwise, a fellow member of First Aid's combiner team).
* CoolBoat: He can transform into a submarine.
* CoolOldGuy: Old enough to have fond memories serving with Optimus and has a lot of great stories to tell.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Originally started off as this but became better at the end of the ep.
* GrumpyOldMan: He could give a Kup or Ratchet a run for their money.
* PoweredArmor: One that also doubles as both his HumongousMecha and as his ship. Also counts as a MythologyGag if you know what a Headmaster or [[Anime/TransformersVictory Brainmaster]] is.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Blurr]]
!Blurr
!!Function: Rescue Force Trainee
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blurr_rescue_bots.jpg]]
-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/MaxMittelman

A hot rod racer and pilot who, along with his partner Salvage, crashed on Earth during caveman times and went into stasis to survive. At first he doesn't think much of Earth or the Rescue Bot mission but eventually learns better and becomes part of the team. He transforms into a racecar.
-----
* AdaptationalJerkass: Blurr is usually brave, helpful and selfless. This Blurr, however, is cowardly, selfish and self-serving. He does get better in subsequent appearances however.
* AdaptationalWimp: He is much, much slower than other versions of the character. Averted as seen in "Hot Rod Bot".
* AesopAmnesia: As Heatwave points out he has trouble learning from his many mistakes especially when it comes to charging in half-cocked.
* ConscienceMakesYouGoBack: He can't bring himself to abandon the team or the island, when disaster strikes.
* ConsummateLiar: A heroic example, as seen below. There's also the question if he really came from Cybertron, as the novel ''Transformers: Exiles'' shows him as Velocitronian, which may indicate he is an even bigger liar then previously established.
** This may be a production error as all signs point to him being from Velocitron as he misses the planet as though he was homesick and envisioned racing against the planet's leader, Override and Racemaster(Rapido), who in the IDW G1 comics was also a Velocitron.
* {{Determinator}}: Say what you will about his personality, but he really is persistent.
* DirtyCoward: Shows traits of this, as he ran away from helping the cave people escape the island in the past, and in the present he tried to leave a man to get crushed by a crane. Eventually gets better and becomes a lot more selfless.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: He ''is'' a racecar.
* {{Expy}}: He resembles Mirage of the ''Generation 1'' cartoon, only purple instead of blue.
* GloryHound: Mostly when it comes to racing.
* GoodIsNotNice: At first at least. Later he gets some CharacterDevelopment and becomes much nicer.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Stuck up as he is, he genuinely had concern for Salvage's well-being when the two came out of stasis.
* PromotionToOpeningTitles: He and Salvage have been added to the Season 4 intro.
* WhatTheHellHero: Gets this from the other characters after what he did above.
* WestCoastTeam: Optimus plans for him and Salvage to work at another location.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: A ZigZaggedTrope in the Aligned continuity as he has a unique design here, separate from his Generation 1 namesake -- yet while he does appear in ''WesternAnimation/TransformersRobotsInDisguise2015'', he's redesigned to be closer to the G1 Blurr.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Salvage]]
!Salvage
!!Function: Rescue Force Trainee
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maxresdefault_361.jpg]]
-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/JasonMarsden

A former loader by trade, Salvage's ship crashed on Earth during ancient times and he and his partner Blurr were found by the Rescue Bots thousands of years later. A gentle giant with a penchant for tinkering, Salvage loves to collect old "junk" and rebuild it into something new and useful. He transforms into a garbage truck.
-----
* AwesomeButImpractical: Why he choose a garbage truck as his vehicle mode. He took a liking to how much he could carry in that form, but Chase suggests using a vehicle that would be of more practical use, like a nearby jeep. Optimus Prime tells Chase that sometimes the vehicle chooses the robot and gives Salvage the okay to scan it.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Normally very kind and laid back, but when he caught Blurr attempting to leave Earth without him in the middle of a meteor shower, he lost it and attacked him.
* {{Expy}}: Just like Boulder, he's very reminiscent of the Bulkhead from ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated''. Having a similar jaw design and also quite interested when it comes to creating things out of junk.
* GentleGiant: Just like Boulder, he's a big bot with an even bigger spark.
* InNameOnly: A surprisingly downplayed case of this, as the first major Salvage (a red pickup truck from the 2007 movie toyline) actually shares much of this version's characterization. The only main differences between the two are designs, origins, human allies, and the fact that ''this'' Salvage ''actually appeared in a cartoon''.
* {{MacGyvering}}: He's quite a expert at this: he was able to create a electromagnet with junk to stop a crane from crashing into City Hall. He also created a working harmonica out of junk and played it.
* MeaningfulName: He really likes sifting through garbage. He even has a recycle symbol on his chest. [[spoiler: Until Optimus lasers it off and replaced it with a Rescue Bots insignia.]]
* NaiveNewcomer: Like all Cybertronians, takes a little while to adapt to life on Earth.
* OutOfFocus: The only new Rescue Bot not to get his own spotlight episode.
* PromotionToOpeningTitles: He and Blurr have been added to the Season 4 intro.
* SouthernFriedGenius: Can build pretty much anything out of the junk in his trailer.
* SouthernFriedPrivate: While it should be noted he is a trainee, he does have the accent.
* {{Squee}}: When Cody shows him the junkyard.
* WestCoastTeam: Optimus plans for him and Blurr to work at another location.

!Quickshadow
!!Function: Rescue Force Recruit
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/resue_bots_quickshadow.jpg]]
-->Voiced by Creator/AlexKingston

A covert operations specialist sent by Optimus Prime to assist the Griffin Rock Rescue Bots. Quickshadow is very effective at what she does and prefers to work alone rather than rely on a team. She transforms into a sports car.
-----
* TheAce: Extremely competent. It's easy to understand why she prefers working alone.
* AliensOfLondon: She has a British accent in spite of being an alien robot.
* ApologeticAttacker: When Evan and Myles manage to hijack her with a device stuck on her undercarriage and cause her to perform havoc.
* BadassInDistress: Suffer this with her confrontation with Evan and Myles.
* CanonForeigner: Like High Tide, the name Quickshadow had never been used prior to ''Rescue Bots'' and has yet to be reused following the show's conclusion.
* CoolCar: Scanned a car from a spy movie and in turn gained some of the gadgets that were in it.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Her main flaw: She always plans for the scenario that a plan will go right, but fails to prepare for the scenario it would go wrong.
* ExpectingSomeoneTaller: Expected Heatwave to be taller.
* {{Expy}}: Out of all of the aliases she's operated under, only Overdrive is a name used before in the Transformers franchise and he just happens to turn into a combat car with front mounted blasters and fold-out wings, not too unlike all of Quickshadow's spy gear. Not to mention she is the only member of the team to have combat abilities in vehicle mode without any addons. Additionally she's about just as skilled as he is.
* IHaveManyNames: She also operates under the aliases Slipchain, Bootlatch, and Overdrive.
* ShipTease: Takes a bit of a liking to Heatwave.
* SeparatedByACommonLanguage: Uses a lot of British terms and idioms, sometimes confusing the rest of the cast. She herself was confused when Cody referred to her trunk, soon realizing he meant her "boot".
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She is the only female Transformer featured on this show.
* StuffyBrit: At least in voice and attitude.
* SuddenlySpeaking: Doesn't speak for a majority of her first appearance.

!Optimus Prime
!!Function: Autobot Leader
-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/PeterCullen

Leader of the Autobots, who gave the Rescue Bots their mission. He appears mainly via view-screen but at times makes his way to Griffin Rock for certain missions, discoveries or emergencies.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: In "It's a Bot Time" when the bots are stuck in the 1930s and Morocco has them pinned with an electromagnet ready for dissection, Optimus and Bumblebee burst through the wall and save everyone, having been alerted to the situation and going back in time to save everyone.]]
* BigGood: As the leader of the Autobots and an all-around good, kind and noble individual, he serves as one for the Cybertronians.
* TheComicallySerious: A carryover from his portrayal in ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime''.
* GreaterScopeParagon: From the perspective of the Rescue Bots, as while he was the one who called them to Earth in order to help against the Decepticons, he rarely gets directly involved otherwise past situations where the Rescue Bots are completely out of their depth to handle.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: As expected of Optimus, he's stoic, serious yet understanding leader.
* SupportingLeader: Due to having his own problems to deal with, though he offers advice or help to the Rescue team when needed.
* ThisIsADrill: [[spoiler: Has one on the tail of his Tyrannosaurus Rex altmode just like the Dragonzord in ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' and and an {{Expy}} of the Q-rex (dino-mode) in ''Series/PowerRangersSuperMegaforce''.]]

!Bumblebee
!!Function: Scout [[spoiler:(Leader of Bee Team)]]
-->'''Voiced by''': Nicole Dubuc (Season 1-2), [[spoiler:Creator/WillFriedle (Season 4)]]

Legendary Autobot Scout, war hero, and member of Optimus Prime's team of Autobots. As seen in ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'', Bumblebee lost his voice box in the line of duty (really, it was Megatron torturing him, but this was glossed over) and possesses a unique form of speech. [[spoiler:When he returns in "Uninvited Guest" the team learned that he had his voice box fixed and is now [[WesternAnimation/TransformersRobotsInDisguise2015 a team leader]], much to the surprise of the entire team, especially Blades]].
----
* CuteMute: Thanks to an injury to his voice box he sustained during the war, Bumblebee can only communicate through [[Franchise/StarWars R2-D2-esque]] beeps and whirrs.
* IntelligibleUnintelligible: While most humans (including the viewers) can't understand Bumblebee's beeping language, no Transformer ever seems to have this problem. [[spoiler: As of "Uninvited Guest" he's had his voice box fixed and speaks with his ''WesternAnimation/TransformersRobotsInDisguise'' voice.]] See SuddenlySpeaking below.
* SuddenlySpeaking: [[spoiler: He speaks in "Uninvited Guest". None of the Rescue Bots nor the Burns family recognize his voice at first until he reveals himself. This causes a one-sided rift to happen between him and Blades due to the latter having trouble getting used to changes Bumblebee undertook during ''Prime'' and ''Robots in Disguise'', although after a short spark-to-spark the two reconciled quickly]].

[[folder:Sideswipe]]
!Sideswipe
!!Function: [[spoiler:Bee Team Member]]
A rebellious, confident and competitive punk who found himself becoming a member of [[spoiler:Bumblebee's Earth-stationed team after Strongarm dragged him along when apprehending the Autobot Scout]]. He found himself on Griffin Rock thanks to an earth bridge mishap while apprehending the Mini-con Bounce, then getting into a tussle with Blurr believing him to be a Decepticon in the guise of a Rescue bot. Although meeting the rest of the Sigma-17 makes him stand down.
----
* LockedOutOfTheLoop:
** He was unaware that there were still any Rescue Bots left after the Great War, to the point he actually confused Blurr for a Decepticon disguised as a Rescue Bot.
** He also makes a snarky comment about Dinobots but it's not really surprising for the Griffin Rock team, much to his confusion.

!!Burns Family
[[folder:In General]]
* AllAPartOfTheJob: A commonality between the Burns and their robot companions, though the family doesn't have to hide their sentience or any such thing.
* ActionDuo: The human-robot duos. One is an ordinary human [[BadassNormal trained for search and rescue]], while the other is a [[TheBigGuy huge Autobot with superhuman strength]].
* BadassFamily: They're all useful allies to the Rescue Bots.
* {{Badass Normal}}s: They're able to provide helpful assistance to the Rescue Bots even though they're just humans.
* MissingMom: Absolutely no mention is made of Graham, Dani, Kade and Cody's mother.

Griffin Rock's chief of police and leader of its Rescue Team. He is also the father of Cody, Kade, Dani, and Graham. He gets along well with his partner Chase and is a very levelheaded man.
-----
* ActionDad: He actively helps his children and the Rescue Bots on their missions.
* AdaptationalJobChange: In the original toyline and storybooks that slightly predated the cartoon, Charlie Burns was a fire chief. The animated series turns him into a police chief.
* BadassNormal: Being the Chief doesn't stop him from doing fieldwork.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Little Guy to Chase's Big Guy.
* TheCommissionerGordon: Not only does he fulfill this role but he even looks like the spitting image of the [=GCPD=] Commissioner too.
* DaChief: Both the Chief of Police but also a Rescue Station Chief.
* GoodParents: He's a stern yet loving and warm father to his children.
* TheLeader: Due to the rescue team being made up of his children ''and'' being the chief of Police/Rescue, he naturally takes the role of being their leader.
* OnlySaneMan: Thanks to his age and experience, he is the most serious and level-headed of the rescue team. Keeping his children and the rescue bots in line due to their mix of energy and personalities.
* OhCrap: A mild one when he finds out that the "Old Man" Prof. Baranova wanted to help with explosives happened to be him.
* PapaWolf: ''Don't'' endanger his kids, or in his own words, he ''will'' come after you.
* RealMenCook: He's often the one to cook for the family and even wears a rather amusing apron at it too.

[[quoteright:185:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kade.jpg]]
Cody's older brother and Griffin Rock firefighter. He is somewhat of a glory-hog and isn't too keen on working with Heatwave at first, though they eventually come to respect each other (though neither would admit it).
-----
* TheBigGuy: Just like his father, Kade is one of the more larger and muscular members of the family thanks to being a Fireman, going out of his way to get hands-on with the rescues if needed.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Little Guy to Heatwave's Big Guy.
* BreakTheHaughty: Quite a lot of episodes in the show have him get into trouble due to his prideful, abrasive and irritable attitude.
* ContinuityNod: In "Back to Virtual Reality", Kade says that Doctor Morocco is in the future, in France, prompting everyone to give him a weird look and he says he pays attention.
* DecompositeCharacter: He gains his younger brother Cody's job as a firefighter from the toyline and storybooks that predated the animated series.
* FantasticRacism: Kade at first thinks of the bots as just vehicles/tools for a long while before growing bonds close enough to consider them as family.
* FireForgedFriends: Pun aside, he starts off with a bit of FantasticRacism before steadily becoming close friends with Heatwave.
* FieryRedhead: He's a redhead and tends to be the more gung-ho and hot-blooded out of the group.
* GlorySeeker: In his worst moments he can come off as this, down-playing his siblings' and father's role in the rescues and taking credit for his Autobot partner's heroics.
* JerkJock: He acts like one and used to be a quarterback too. Seems like he has a hard time leaving that personality behind
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold:
** While he was quite selfish near the beginning, he's really warmed up to Heatwave by "Small Blessings" and really does care about his partner.
** And even before the CharacterDevelopment that led to the above change, he cares deeply about his family and is particularly [[BigBrotherInstinct protective of Cody]].
* TheLancer: Often plays this role to either his father, Cody or Heatwave. Despite his brash and fiery personality, he always has the back of his family.
* InterspeciesFriendship: He's a human who is friends with Cybertronians Heatwave and Optimus Prime.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Is this with both Heatwave and his family, while he tends to be obnoxious and self-centered, but when the chips are down he's reliable and caring.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Graham Burns]]
!!Graham Burns
!!!Function: Engineer
-->'''Voiced by''': Shannon [=McKain=]

Cody's older brother and Griffin Rock construction engineer. At first he has trouble working Boulder due in part to his own misconceptions. Though he is fascinated by Boulder and wishes to learn about Cybertron, he mistakenly believes that because Boulder is from an advanced alien civilization, there is little he (someone from a more primitive civilization like Earth's) could possibly teach him.
-----
* BadassBookworm: He is the most intelligent of the Burns family and uses his brain to formulate solutions to their problems.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Little Guy to Boulder's Big Guy.
* CannotTalkToWomen: In an episode, he meets a female engineer named Amy and gets shy around her, at the end he gets the courage to ask her to see his blueprints.
* TheEngineer: A construction engineer at that too.
* GadgeteerGenius: Graham works well with software and hardware.
* NerdGlasses: He's the smartest member of the team and fittingly enough also wears square and thick-framed glasses.
* NiceGuy: He's always pleasant and helpful. When the bots and humans were having their initial disagreements Graham had no real problem with Boulder, only feeling that he fell under SufficientlyAdvancedAliens and thus wouldn't need his help.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: He's got some problems wih socializing but overall he's a nice guy.
* TheSmartGuy: The team's construction engineer and works regularly with either Boulder or Doc Greene when brains are needed to help with an emergency.

Cody's older sister and Griffin Rock rescue helicopter pilot. Unlike her partner Blades, Dani loves flying and has trouble getting along with Blades due to his fear of heights, but eventually learns how to work with him. Their bonding creating a very close and trusting friendship.
-----
* AcePilot: She's not only an impressive helicopter pilot but also a regular test pilot for many experimental aircraft. From jets to even man-made spaceships. Although the latter usually don't go too well for her.
* ActionGirl: A non-combat example, to contrast with Blades she's more gung-ho and willing to get into danger when it comes to rescue work. Using her AcePilot skills to pull risky maneuvers if needed. Even one of her hobbies is rock climbing.
* [[DrivesLikeCrazy Flies Like Crazy]]: Poor Blades thinks so, although he learns to get used to it but he still has his reservations.
* FieryRedhead: Just like Kade, she's red-headed (although her hair is a darker shade) and is quite spunky at that.
* {{Gasshole}}: Can unleash [[ScreenShake screen-shaking]] burps on command with barely any effort.
* HartmanHips: She has noticeably wide hips which are sometimes given [[MaleGaze emphasis by the camera]].
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: The Tiny Girl to Blades' Huge Guy.
* ImprobablePilotingSkills: She can not only fly through a wind farm but can also fly Blades ''upside-down''!
* LethalChef: The series doesn't hesitate to showcase or mention her culinary disasters, from completely burning a practice pizza to using ''olives'' in her ''cookies''. Any time someone tries something she cooked, the reaction is almost universally one of disgust.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: A more action-oriented, tough Masculine Girl to Blades' softer, nervous Feminine Boy. A platonic example.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: For a while, she was the only major female member of the team. She was quite overjoyed when the female Quickshadow joined the group.
* {{Squee}}: Noted to frequently do this when on the subject of the S.S. Phantom Voyager.
* ShipperOnDeck: ''Nearly'' quoted by the Burnses like the situation above. She's this for Captain Ambrose and his fiance; Lillian, who sadly never got married since he and his ship disappeared, with Lillian [[IWillWaitForYou seeing the ship briefly every ten years.]] [[spoiler: Thanks to the repair of Doctor Morocco's malfunctioning time machine which allowed everyone to return to their times, Dani is overjoyed after learning their wedding made an important part of Griffin Rock's history.]]

[[quoteright:220:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cody_burns.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:220: ''"Noble!"'']]
The youngest member of the Burns family. Despite his age, he acts as the team's communications officer. He also acts to help the bots become accustomed to life on Earth and guide them. He acts as a mediator between them and his older siblings. Occasionally, he helps out in the field (such as riding in Blades with Dani).
-----
* AgeLift: He is a child when the original toyline and its storybooks depicted him as a young adult.
* BadassAdorable: Comes with being the youngest of the Burns family.
* CatchPhrase: "Noble!" which is his way of referring to something as cool or awesome.
* CheerfulChild: It's really hard to get him down and overall he keeps a optimistic disposition.
* ChildrenAreInnocent
* CoolBoard: His multipurpose [=ComTab=] can also turn into a sweet hoverboard.
* DecompositeCharacter: The animated series gives Kade his original toyline and storybook counterpart's age and career as a firefighter. Amusingly enough "One for the Ages" has Cody age up into a young adult and has to wear a [[MythologyGag firefighter's outfit]] due to his former clothes no longer being able to fit.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: In "Rescue Boy" thanks to getting Doc Greene's Repulsor badge.
* TheHeart: While Cody is the team's MissionControl, the biggest reason he's part of the crew is that he alone can unify the Rescue Bots and their human teammates. Heatwave flat-out refuses to work without him in the first episode.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Is very eager to be a member of the Rescue team and gets his chance once he learns about the secret of the Autobots.
* KidAppealCharacter: He definitely counts due to being the youngest of the main characters.
* KidSidekick: He assists in anyway he can and also serves as the MissionControl.
* {{Protectorate}}: To the whole team; threatening Cody in any way, shape, or form will get all of them ''out for blood''.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: In "One for the Ages" after getting aged up into an adult, he looks like a younger version of his dad. With Boulder commenting that he has a similar lip warmer to his father.
* TagAlongKid: In some adventures, he tends to be this but on others, he does a good job at being the MissionControl.
* TokenMiniMoe: He is the only child in the entire Rescue Team.
* VocalEvolution: As of Season 3, his voice has gotten deeper. This is due to his voice actor hitting puberty.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: While less obvious than Frankie, he has several moments where he comes off as much more rational and levelheaded than most of his siblings, such as when he points out to Kade that starting a conversation with his sister by being angry and demanding is not only going to end in a fight, but probably not going to get him what he wants.

Griffin Rock's inventor, scientist, and father of Francine Greene. Though many of his inventions he creates are meant to be helpful or with good intention, they have a tendency to go haywire or cause trouble in Griffin Rock, which the Rescue Bots and the Burns Family are forced to deal with. As a result, Doc Greene often finds himself being rescued from various mishaps caused by his inventions. His inventions include a solar-powered car, Floatium (a substitute for helium) and a high-powered communications dish.
-----
* AbsentMindedProfessor: He tends to get lost in either his own thoughts or other responsibilities which at times causes his inventions to go haywire either with or without his supervision.
* BunglingInventor: When his inventions don't function the way they should (and they do so with [[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 Wheeljack]]-esque regularity, really), he falls into this.
* DitzyGenius: He sometimes causes disasters because of failure to consider every possible way his experiments can go wrong.
* {{Expy}}: He's clearly inspired by [[Franchise/BackToTheFuture Doc Brown]], from having a similar outfit, frizzy slicked back yet messy hair, color-based surname, owning his own [=DeLorean=]][[labelnote:*]]although his is a solar-powered vehicle rather than being a time machine[[/note]], and gets himself wrapped up in time travel plots with "Phantom of the Sea" giving him a completely stark white hair!
* HappilyMarried: After quite a bit of ShipTease between the two, Ezra finally proposes to Ana Baranova and is shown to have a happy marriage as of Season Four.
* SecretKeeper: In the Season 1 finale: "Bot To The Future", he's also informed that the rescue bots are actually sentient beings. Due to Chief Burns believing that with the gravity of their situation it's would be wise to let him now.
* ShipTease: In the debut episode of Ana Baranova, Doc Greene offers to recreate the Project Midgard lab for her which frankly quickly (and correctly) deduces as him having a crush on her. They officially tie the knot in the finale of Season 3.
* {{Technobabble}}: It's hard to get him to speak simple English.

[[folder:Frankie Greene]]
!!Frankie Greene

Doc Greene's daughter and friend of Cody's. She is somewhat suspicious of the Rescue Bots. In "Countdown," it is revealed that Francine is afraid of the dark. In "The Haunting of Griffin Rock," it is revealed that Francine's middle name is Elma named after Griffin Rock's first scientist Elma Hendrickson.
-----
* ActionGirl: [[spoiler: Wants to join the rescue team and uses phase technology to briefly become a superhero. She's shown to be a pretty dependable rescue worker in her own right but she chooses to get some more training in at Heatwave's behest.]]
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: She's not only adorable, but given she lives with Griffin Rock's top scientist, she has the brains to help on the field.
* CheerfulChild: While she's very deadpan and sarcastic, Frankie is very much Cody's age, and in one situation is even ''less'' mature than him.
* ChildrenAreInnocent
* ChildProdigy: She's the daughter of the town's top scientist and she's pretty smart on her own.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: [[spoiler:Just like Cody she gets some special technology made by her father and becomes Rescue Girl]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Considering who she hangs out with, this is to be expected.
* GirlishPigtails: She's got big round pig tails and while she does show some have a tomboy-ish streak she mostly enjoys girly things (and also scientific things).
* [[IntangibleMan Intangible Girl]]: [[spoiler: Borrows one of her father's inventions to briefly become Rescue Girl. She gets to keep the prototype which become useful in a few occasions especially the series finale]].
* MissingMom: Ana Baranova eventually becomes her stepmother, but it is never explained what happened to her birth mother.
* NiceGirl: Despite the sass, she's very brave, kind and loving.
* PluckyGirl: She's quite sassy, spunky and has lots of pluck. Helps that she's also very smart and talented in her own right.
* SecretChaser: She was this since "The Alien Invasion of Griffin Rock", when she noticed the Rescue Bots were driving themselves.
* SecretKeeper: She finds out that the Rescue Bots are fully-sentient alien robots. Once she learns the details, she admits she [[KnewItAllAlong knew it all along]].
* [[SassyBlackWoman Sassy Black Girl]]: In a sense.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: Thanks to her father and being a natural prodigy, she's shown to be very knowledgeable when it comes to science and subjects far above her grade. Although despite all that she still acts like a kid and enjoys her childhood.

A scientist of Griffon Rock who disappeared years ago when she went to stop the Griffon Rock Triangle with her sub-aquatic ship the Midgard. In the present day the Rescue team found her and with her help stopped the Triangle. She now lives in Griffon Rock and would later on become engaged with Ezra Greene in the finale of Season 3.
---
* HappilyMarried: She happily accepts Ezra's marriage proposal and is in a happy marriage with him as of Season Four.
* NoSocialSkills: Mostly due to being trapped in a submarine for twenty-eight years, she's getting better though.
* SecretKeeper: As of "Quarry vs. Quarry" she knows the Rescue Bots are sentient.
* SwiperNoSwiping: After Dither goes on a toaster binge due to an infected bio-circuit and steals toasters, Ana gets him to stop by ''answering his question'': "Toast?"

[[folder:Mayor Luskey]]
!!Mayor H.B. Luskey
-->Voiced by Creator/JeffBennett
The mayor of Griffin Rock.
----
* DodgyToupee: And much like [[WesternAnimation/SWATKats another mayor in a hi-tech city]], it doesn't even match his real hair and tends to come off a lot.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As seen in Hot Rod Bot, he has shown, that he at least knows it's a bad idea to place the speeder device all the way to the red.
** There's also the fact that despite it possibly making him money, he at least was smart enough to send people to make sure the oil platform was safe to do so.
* FreudianExcuse: In "Hot Rod Bot", it's revealed his ill-thought-out schemes are at least partly due to him trying to upstage his older brother, who is the mayor of a much bigger city on the mainland.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Takes credit for other people's ideas and work and will try to take center stage wherever he is.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's a bit of a self-serving jerk, but when it comes to protecting his citizens, he ''will'' stand up for them.
* MayorPain: Sometimes his political ambitions get the best of him and sometimes this causes trouble for the town. [[spoiler: After the Rescue Bots reveal their true nature in Season 4, this finally bites him in the ass and Chase runs against him and wins. However, Chase himself wasn't much better and he resigned, letting Luskey resume the post.]]
* NeverMyFault: He refuses to take responsibility for the mistakes he makes and tries to shift blame onto others.
* SleazyPolitician: In general, he's a self-serving asshole. [[spoiler: "Part-Time Heroes" happened because he took the funds meant for a new cell phone tower and used them to buy an inflatable stadium.]] Basically, if there's any opportunity to to bring more fame to Griffin Rock (and by extension, ''him''), you'll bet your wigs he'll do anything to exploit it... at the cost of his reputation amongst the townsfolk.
* TooDumbToLive: A comprehensive list of such moments could fill a book. Two standout examples include hawking old, Spam-like canned meat that turned the consumer into a werebeast (granted, he didn't know about that, but still should have known better than to sell ''old meat''), and ordering [[AIIsACrapshoot a computer charged with protecting the island turned up to full power]] after it gained sentience and demonstrated its fascist-like way of doing so.

[[folder:Huxley Prescott]]
!!Huxley Prescott
--> Voiced by Creator/JeffBennett
The resident news reporter who never goes anywhere without his hovering robo-camera by his side.
----
* ChekhovsGunman: After Evan and Myles threaten to upload footage of Quickshadow confirming her identity as a Cybertronian to get the Burnses arrested for harboring aliens, Cody remembers the old radio broadcast he listened to in class and with the help of the townsfolk and especially Huxley, the latter broadcasts a news bulletin of an "[[ScoobyDooHoax alien invasion]]" online to deem both videos as outright fakes.
* DeadlineNews: Prescott ends up in many bad situations to get a good story, his "I Dare Me" show is excellent proof.
* GloryHound: Nearly uploads footage of [[spoiler: The Rescue Bots revealing their identities to the residents]] for the sake of being promoted to prime-time television. He gets interrupted by an urgent notice to attend a town meeting and decides to do it later. [[spoiler: He later vows to not publish his story.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: Downplayed. He's initially mildly suspicious of the Rescue Bots, and contributes to the Morbot's rise in fame by downplaying all of its destructive acts all for the sake of ratings. When the Rescue Bots leave, Prescott becomes a vocal critic of Morocco and the Morbot, and admits to missing the team. Subsequent episodes show him to be much friendlier to them, no longer showing his paranoid bias.
* IntrepidReporter: He's a kook of a reporter who's given the rescue team enough trouble to keep them busy.
* TooDumbToLive: Almost rivals the mayor in terms of schemes, ideas, or overall carelessness that causes trouble for the townsfolk and rescue team.
* WhatMightHaveBeen: His alternate timeline self never went into the news business, something he laments.

[[folder:Dr. Morocco]]
!!Doctor Thaddeus Morocco
-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/TimCurry (season 1), Creator/GregEllis (season 2 and onward)

The recurring antagonist of the series. Dr. Thaddeus Morocco is a mad scientist who invents things to cause damage. He is behind several of the incidents that occurred in Griffin Rock. He plotted revenge against Chief Charlie Burns, Mayor Luskey, and Doc Greene for making him an outcast.
-----
* BigBad: Morocco is the closest the series has come to an over-arching villain.
* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler:Sort of, in "Back to Virtual Reality", in the form of a sentient computer virus modeled after him.]]
* EvilBrit: He speaks in a British accent.
* EvilGenius: While he may have stolen a lot of his inventions rather than discovered them, Morocco is still a brilliant scientist having [[spoiler:reverse engineered Dither and building an empire out of technology made far from his day in an alternate future]].
* EvilVirtues: While the man has many faults, ''many'', a lack of gratitude is apparently not one of them since he once saved the Burns family from drowning after they first saved him from a salvage fiasco when he could have simply left them all to die.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He seems rather amicable at first but his friendly facade hides a sinister mind.
* FountainOfYouth: Thaddeus Morocco seems to have invented (stolen) a machine that has kept him in the prime of his youth instead of a old man, as seen in "Bot to the Future".
* HeelFaceBrainwashing: [[spoiler: In a way, Jules Verne wipes his memory so he returns to how he was before he turned to crime.]]
* HighClassGlass: He has a monocle.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: He tends to weasel out of any comeuppance he appears to get [[spoiler:until he is brought to justice at the end of season two.]]
* KillerRobot: His Morbots. [[spoiler: Thanks to technology he stole from the firehouse, they can be pretty much considered homemade Decepticons.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: He's a pretty sinister villain, especially since the show had no real antagonists until he came along.
* ManOfWealthAndTaste: Most of Morocco's intentions are mainly around pirating inventions for profit, and much of his screentime shows a number of very posh furnishings.
* MechaMooks: His Morbots, again. In the main timeline, he's built at least a few but in the alternate timeline where he rules supreme, he's managed to make an entire army.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: He's a villainous inventor with the title of Doctor.
* OlderThanTheyLook [[spoiler: Back before he used the machine to keep him at his prime, he used to be friends with Jules Verne.]]
* SuckSessor: Attempts to replace Dr. Greene as the island's chief scientist. He also tries to use his Morbots to replace the Burns family and the Rescue Bots. As expected he does a terrible job at both of those things, from just planning to use Dr. Greene's research and devices for profit and his Morbot causing more damage during it's "rescues" rather than preventing them.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: At first his Morbot shows up the Rescue Bots at every turn, saving people faster than before and quickly solving all of the hazards that Morocco creates. Prescott is quick to praise the rescue bot at the expense of the team and the Mayor puts an unreasonable amount of faith in such a shady man. After Morocco takes over, this starts to wane with the Morbot's DestructiveSavior antics causing far more havoc than helping. Prescott and most of the town turn on him after that (without the heroes needing to expose him as a fraud), but Morocco is indifferent, having access to Doc Greene's inventions, and the Mayor's blind faith still in hand.
