'''Warning''': Unmarked spoilers ahead for Seasons 1 and 2.

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Keroro Platoon]]

!!Sergeant Keroro
!!!Voiced by Mugiwara Yoshi
In the Abridged series, Keroro is a useless, self-absorbed JerkAss who can't accomplish anything (big shocker, right?). He occasionally makes an effort to come up with an invasion plan, but sadly his plans wouldn't make sense to a two-year old. Has a fear of being useful, is in a relationship with subordinate Tamama, and is apparently [[GratuitousSpanish Hispanic]]. The entire series revolves around his friends and peers wanting to kill him because they hate him so much.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: Averted in the early episodes. As soon as he makes a pass at Tamama when the character is introduced, he outright says "I'm gay! The end!". Also inverted, because he seems to have an attraction to women but won't come forward about it like he will his attraction to Tamama. Subverted by Episode 11, where he comes to grips with his sexuality and decides he is bi. Doesn't stop his relationship with Tamama from getting any worse.
* GratuitousSpanish: Due to his voice actor being Dominican.
* JerkAss: [[ExaggeratedTrope Exaggerated]] in many ways. Keroro is a terrible person who treats people horribly for his own amusement, is afraid of being useful in any capacity, and sees all of his life's problems as being NeverMyFault. The MythArc of the series is people hating and wanting to kill him either for this or his uselessness. The end of Season 2 through Season 3 is based around pulling him out of this state into someone who is capable of thinking of others.
%%* LovableSexManiac
%%* IdiotHero
* MikeNelsonDestroyerOfWorlds: Despite being an invader by (failed) profession, his only real successful destruction of life was an accident.
* TheNeidermeyer: His platoon might hate him even more than the [[Manga/SgtFrog original series' counterparts]].
* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: PlayedWith, depending on the situation.
* TheProtagonist: He's the lead character and goes through development throughout the series, though it doesn't always make him ''better''.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Whereas his original series counterpart is at least a celebrity on Keron, ''everyone'' hates this Keroro, yet his ego is still enormous.
%%* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist

!!Private Tamama
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
Tamama is Keroro's adorable boyfriend, until he is revealed to be a "she" at the end of Season 1. Tends to act stupid like the rest of the platoon, but occasionally exhibits rational thought.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: Averted in the first season, where one of her nicknames before her gender reveal is "fagmuffin". Becomes subverted when he ends up being straight only because he is a "she".
* AmbiguousGender: Both in and out-of-universe. Even Tamama herself didn't know she was a girl.
%%* CloudCuckoolander
%%* TheDitz
* UnsettlingGenderReveal: Tamama turns out to be female, much to the surprise of everyone, including herself. This sent Keroro into 'straight panic' in episode 11.
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: WordOfGod says Tamama is in the [[OlderThanTheyLook Keronian age-equivalent of her twenties]], except she has Keronian dwarfism.

!!Corporal Giroro
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
Giroro is Keroro and Dororo's lifelong friend, though he is less than pleased with Keroro's failures and would like their platoon to successfully invade Earth. Had a transparent crush on Natsumi until getting together with and eventually marrying Dororo, and is a transvestite. After the wedding, Giroro no longer wants to invade Earth, and instead just wants to live a peaceful life.
----
* CanNotSpitItOut: Averted. He outright says he loves Natsumi in Episode 5; nobody seems to notice or care, not even Natsumi.
%%* CatchPhrase: "Fuck this!"
%%* CrossDresser
* DisguisedInDrag: Doesn't even try, but he pretends to be famous singer Sumomo in Episode 6. Leads to his crossdresser reveal.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Keroro wasn't against the idea, and Dororo made a pass at him after his transvestism came to light. The latter eventually got him.
* HappilyMarried: He and Dororo as of Episode 15.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He acted sweet towards Natsumi and developed his friendship with Dororo much more than with any of the others. By the end of Season 2 he clearly cares about his friends and protecting them.
* PrettyBoy: Perhaps according to him.
-->"At least I'm PRETTY!"
%%* TheLancer
%%* StraightMan: To the rest of his platoon. Usually.
%%* SurroundedByIdiots: Though he's not immune to the IdiotBall himself.
* [[{{Deuteragonist}} Tritagonist]]: His character development is more subtle than Keroro's and Dororo's, but he is nearly as much the focus as them.
%%* WeaksauceWeakness: Colouring. As in "crayon-on-paper".

!!Lance Corporal Dororo
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
After being stranded in the forest with a broken leg, the lonely, depressed, mentally damaged, socially awkward, unpopular rich kid Dororo became a ninja. He appears to have a form of Stockholm Syndrome in relation to Keroro and Giroro, but his only true friends may indeed by Giroro and Koyuki; nobody else seems to care about him. By Season 2, heaps of CharacterDevelopment has led him to not take Keroro's crap so much anymore and settle into a happy relationship with Giroro.
----

* {{BFS}}: His Giant Ninja Fuck-You Star, which he had to meditate for two episodes to learn how to use. The first two times he uses it [[EpicFail fail catastrophically]]. The third time, while he's in a combat high, works like a charm.
* BreakoutCharacter: Even Yoshi didn't care about him until they finally introduced him. He almost immediately became a fan and creator favourite, and he was voted Travis, Yoshi and Thorn's favourite and best-developed character at the end of the second season.
* ButtMonkey: His role as forgotten ButtMonkey in [[Manga/SgtFrog the original]] is replaced with that of a directly/emotionally-abused punching bag.
* CatchPhrase: "I'm lonely" and "(X) makes me lonely". Doesn't speak it directly much after Season 1, though it has been [[ContinuityNod referenced in places]].
* CloudCuckoolander: Perhaps downright mentally disturbed.
* CountryMatters: Uses the c-word in his character song "The Lonely Dance".
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Develops the most out of all the cast, and is nearly as much the focus as Keroro.
* HappilyMarried: He and Giroro as of Episode 15.
%%* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: And like any good AbridgedSeries, it's exaggerated.
* MaliciousMisnaming: The longest running gag of the series. Characters often switch his name with something starting with D (Doorknob, Dorito) or something completely random (Laryngitis, Hangnail).
* MommasBoy: Suggested in flashback episodes of Season 1 but subverted in Episode 10, where he reveals resentment towards his mother. He is very uneasy about seeing her again in Episode 19.
* ObliviousToLove: Koyuki sees him as a good friend, but for the most part he seems oblivious and just wants his platoon to be his friends (which he actually ''did'' accomplish with Giroro; [[RelationshipUpgrade then they kept going]]).
* StraightGay: ''Podcast/AskGiroDoroSFA'' confirms him as the only conclusively gay character.
* StraightMan: After getting over his family and friendship issues, and settling into a happy relationship with Giroro, he develops into this from late-Season 2 onward.
* TookALevelInBadass: While always physically capable thanks to the instincts he developed by Keroro and Giroro's childhood abuse, most of the series is written at his expense. He is finally able to put his skills to use and come into his own as a powerful hero in Season 3, namely against Robobo.
* WorthyOpponent: Pururu sets him up as being indestructible, and Zoruru challenges him to a fight to prove it wrong. In his own weird way, Dororo proves himself to be this.

!!Sergeant Major Kululu
!!!Voiced by [=InfamousGentleman=]
The biggest personality reversal from the original ''Sgt. Frog''. Kululu isn't the transparently scheming, constantly-giggling TokenEvilTeammate like his counterpart, but is rather an understated, keeps-to-himself, sarcastic, apathetic JerkAss.
----

* BrilliantButLazy: Kululu has the skills and resources to build large mechs for the platoon's use or to tape a whole planet back together, but he rarely ever does anything. It takes him three hours to build a drill when he had thirty minutes, yet it takes him mere minutes to cannibalize Shurara's mech for the platoon's own personal Gundam. After the events of Season 1, the platoon are mostly glad that Kululu keeps to himself and stays out of the way.
%%* CloudCuckoolander: And aware of it.
%%* JerkAss
* StartOfDarkness: Discussed in Episode 12, as the team are in fear of him turning into Future Kululu. Ultimately averted, as he turns out to be pretty mellow about the team.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Subverted. Throughout the first season he's about as blatant as his [[Manga/SgtFrog main series counterpart]]. However it was mostly his future doppelganger. The real Kululu returns at the beginning of Season 2, and he mellows out considerably.
* {{Troll}}: He once trolled a leading economic power and the leaders of the world ''at once'', and he collapsed all of Uganda with porn.
* UnEvilLaugh: Has switched out to the much less menacing, much more nasally "HEGH!"

!!Angol Mois
!!!Voiced by codeblackhayate
Mois is a sweet alien girl with a big crush on her longtime family friend Keroro. As opposed to the [[Manga/SgtFrog original Mois]], this character accomplished her mission to destroy the world. She now just hangs out with the platoon and doesn't do much of anything.
----

%%* AffablyEvil: Her only reason to be on Earth is to destroy it.
%%* TheCutie
* DemotedToExtra: Due to a mixture of her voice actor being busy and the writers just not having a use for her.
%%* TheDitz: Though not so much stupid as innocent.
%%* SatelliteCharacter: To Keroro after Episode 5.

[[/folder]]
[[folder:Humans]]

!!Fuyuki Hinata
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
The scatterbrained and fairly stupid brother of Natsumi and son of Aki. Keroro may be his only friend, and by the end of Season 2 he is definitely Keroro's only friend.
----

%%* BetaCouple: With Alisa in Episode 13.
* CloudCuckoolander: The most obvious of them, as most of his lines are strange leaps of logic or non-sequiturs.
%%* TheDitz
%%* NonSequitur: His default conversation type.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Towards the end of Episode 13, after Mokoma's death by head explosion, he makes several puns at her expense.

!!Natsumi Hinata
!!!Voiced by [=LillyLivers=]
The girl of the house who is less than amused by the Keronians, and one of the more capable and sane members of the cast. She is the center of attention at her school by all of the females, and she wishes she could just have a friend instead of an admirer.
----

%%* ActionGirl: But not very often.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Literally every girl at her school is obsessed with her, even the teachers.
%%* [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]]
%%* SurroundedByIdiots
%%* [[StraightMan Straight Woman]]

!!Aki Hinata
!!!Voiced by [=LillyLivers=]
The mom. She is a manga editor who is so desperate for ideas that she will take anything.
----

%%* CloudCuckooLander: Fuyuki gets it from her
* TheTease:
--->'''Keroro''': [[GratuitousSpanish ''(In Spanish)'']] ''I'm the house inspector?''
--->'''Aki''': [[MarshmallowHell ''(Pulls him into her breasts)'']]: "Well you'd better be thorough!"
--->'''Keroro''': "Soy un major yes."

!!Koyuki Azumaya
!!!Voiced by Revy Moonshine (Episode 4-18), Thaichestnuts (Episode 22-present)
A cheerful ninja girl with a crush on Natsumi. One of Dororo's few real friends (and Natsumi's for that matter).
----

%%* ActionGirl
%%* CloudCuckoolander
%%* TheCutie: Emphasized more starting with Episode 10
* [[DoggedNiceGuy Dogged Nice Girl]]: Her to Natsumi in Seasons 1 and 2. Natsumi only wants her as a friend. They finally start a relationship in the Season 2 finale.

!!Momoka Nishizawa
!!!Voiced by Dobuchu
Fuyuki's secret admirer with an extreme split personality.
----
* BackFromTheDead: As of Episode 22, Paul managed to bring her back to life...[[ItRunsOnNonsenseoleum as a tank.]] [[ItMakesSenseInContext Luckily everyone else had been turned into machines at the time, so when they turned back, so did she.]]
* ContrivedCoincidence: Momoka comes back to life during Robobo's attack in Episode 22. This is only because Paul resurrected her as a tank, while Robobo had everyone else fused with machinery. When Robobo's killed and everyone returns to normal, so does Momoka.
%%* HairTriggerTemper
* KilledOffForReal: At the end of Episode 13. Subverted in Episode 22 with her return.
%%* LiterallyShatteredLives: Comes about from Fuyuki accepting Alisa as his girlfriend.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Parodied with Paul's Puppet Momoka, which he uses after her death to keep people from knowing she's dead so that he can keep his job.
* RevolvingDoorCasting: She was voiced in Episode [=2R=] by [=LillyLivers=] as a backup, following many failed attempts to find and hold down a voice actor for her before she ever debuted. She finally found a stable VA in Dobuchu before her death and later resurrection. This trope is the reason she was removed from most of Season 1 out of spite.
* TakeThat: She makes two silent appearances in Season 1 that mock her due to the trouble the team had finding a voice for her: first in Episode 5 where the intro cuts away from her before she can speak; second in the Episode 9 intro where all of the characters have their eyes censored, except for Momoka who has her entire face blacked out.
%%* YourHeadAsplode

!!Paul Moriyama
!!!Voiced by [=BigTUnit1=]
Momoka's butler and enabler of the impossible. He can do anything without trying, regardless of the laws of physics, though the most he does is cause explosions by moving.

----
* MemeticBadass: Invoked a'la the Creator/ChuckNorris meme.
-->''"Hello, Karate Butler Paul at your service. Would you like a cup of tea? I can brew it with my bare hands. Or maybe you’d rather a slice of cake? I can bake a cake just by looking at it."''
* StuffBlowingUp: His powers mostly manifest in causing things to explode, just by moving his body.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Parodied with Paul's Puppet Momoka, which he uses after her death to keep people from knowing she's dead so that he can keep his job.
* TakeThat: His Puppet Momoka actively mocks Momoka's angry personality.

!!Mutsumi Saburo

Natsumi's secret crush. He has a radio show, despite being mute, or at least unable to say a single word without being interrupted.
----

* ButtMonkey: Every time he opens his mouth to talk, someone else starts talking. Even Natsumi, the girl with a crush on him, failed to notice him in Episode 1, leaving him sad and crying. His lack of respect is comparable to [[Manga/SgtFrog the original Dororo's]] role.
* CuteMute: He never speaks. This is because he was planned to be voiced by [[TheOtherDarrin DragonFatman]] as a drunk Irishman, and Yoshi and Thorn didn't care for the idea. When Fatman was kicked from the team after Episode 1R, [[RuleOfFunny Thorn and Yoshi decided to simply leave Saburo without a voice]].
* HeWhoMustNotBeHeard: He's tried talking, but he keeps getting interrupted, even on his own radio show.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: His magic pen was never addressed in the series, and he doesn't speak so he can't explain anything. Thus comes Episode 17 when he rescues the Hinatas with a drawing of a shield, and Episode 20 when he suddenly gains explosive powers and [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext incendiary spray paint]].
* SuddenlyVoiced: [[spoiler:Albeit briefly, by fellow voice-based running gag [=MrFailGame=] in the series finale.]]

[[/folder]]
[[folder:Other Recurring Characters]]

!!Narrator/[=ThornBrain=]

Writer [=ThornBrain=] occasionally acts as the disembodied voice that details the setting of a scene and makes sarcastic remarks. His role as narrator is considerably smaller than the Manga/SgtFrog counterpart, and he rarely shows up after Season 1.
----

* AuthorAvatar: The ''Podcast/AskGiroDoroSFA'' audio blog revealed that it and ''SFA'' reach the real world via transmission from Thorn.
* CrossDresser: Thorn makes a visual appearance as the Narrator at the end of Episode 18. He's wearing lip gloss, a striped top and ([[WordOfGod out-of-shot]]) a tartan skirt.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
%%* LemonyNarrator

!!Viper
!!!Voiced by [=BigTUnit1=]
Viper is a half-snake, half-humanoid space pirate whose TangledFamilyTree serves as a major plot driver for most of the series. His initial appearance in Episode 4 suggests he has a history with the Keroro Platoon, and Episode 7 reveals that he's Dororo's dad; Dororo's multitude of issues can be traced back to Viper. Episode 18 reveals that he is also [[spoiler:Keroro's]] father, and many of his issues can also be traced to Viper. After Season 2, Viper takes the effort to connect with his sons more.
----

* HeelFaceTurn: Appears in Episode 4 as a villain and kidnaps Dororo and Koyuki. By Episode 18 he's on friendly terms with the platoon.
* LukeIAmYourFather:
** Averted at first with Dororo. The characters just seem to know Viper's Dororo's father already.
** Subverted after Season 1, as Dororo isn't sure if Viper is his biological father when he grows up. Double subverted by the end of the second season where, despite the father debate never being settled, Dororo is at least well-adjusted enough to not be burdened by the issue any longer. As such, Viper is simply accepted as his father.
** An additional subversion occurs in the Season 2 finale: he is revealed to also be [[spoiler:Keroro's]] father, and both Viper and Dororo know this. However [[spoiler:Keroro]], [[IdiotHero despite laying out all of the hints himself, is too stupid to put all of the pieces together]], so there is never a big reveal [[spoiler:[[Podcast/AskGiroDoroSFA until Keroro appears in the Q&A blog]].]]
* ReallyGetsAround: The list of his children is constantly growing.
* TangledFamilyTree: It seems straightforward at first: Viper, his father, his wife, their sons. But then in Episode 19 we meet his "Mom-Son" and "[[ItMakesSenseInContext Dad-Train]]"...

!!Future Kululu
!!!Voiced by [=InfamousGentleman=]
Kululu's future self. He is apparently the Kululu seen from Episode 6 through Episode 10, and the present-day Kululu [[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 is trapped in a box labelled "HAMDINGERS"]] in the meantime. Kululu turns into him at the end of Season 2, then back to normal in ''Reset''.
----

%%* TheAntagonist: For the first season.
* BeardOfEvil: Has a pencil mustache, [[ShoutOut as inspired by Ron Mael of]] Music/{{Sparks}}.
* EvilLaughter: He alternates between the "HEGH" laugh and an actual evil cackle.
* KnightTemplar: [[spoiler:He's trying to kill Keroro]] so that the mission to invade Earth actually gets accomplished.

!!HQ
!!!Voiced by Jiggly Jacob
An unnamed Admiral (demoted to Captain in Season 3) in the Keron Army with a lethal loathing of the Keroro Platoon. He dumps the platoon on Earth to get rid of them, only to send people and weapons after them to kill them. Generally speaks in a bored monotone.
----

%%* TheAntagonist: For all of Seasons 1 and 2, and returns to this spot for Episode 23.
%%* BadBoss
%%* BigBad: For all of Seasons 1 and 2.
* DrivenToSuicide: In Episode 16, Kilili hits HQ with all of his stored negative energy, severely depressing him. [[SuicideAsComedy Everyone in the universe commits suicide shortly after]]. The suicide is undone in ''Reset''.
* DullSurprise: His usual speaking voice. You get the sense that he's not crazy about his job. He gets more energy from constant coffee drinking for his return in Episode 22.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Kululu records him saying he doesn't care if his plan will destroy Earth or not, giving him enough rope to hang himself and get dishonorably discharged by the end of Episode 23.
* InterimVillain: He's reduced to this in season 3, where he returns to being the BigBad for episode 23. Once he's dealt with, the series immediately returns to the Shurara Corp StoryArc.
* {{Jerkass}}: He dumped the platoon on Earth with the implication that he just wanted them out of the way. He never made clear that they still had an invasion mission, and now he's trying to kill them for wasting time doing nothing.
* MustHaveCaffeine: Drinking coffee is part of his job description, but it's not very good coffee. Keroro teaches him how to make good coffee in ''SFA: Reset'', and the next time we see him he's drunk so much of it that he's been awake for four straight months, been demoted from Admiral to Captain, and talks to his empty coffee cups like they're his subordinates.
* PetTheDog: He remains a jackass for most of the series but he appears to have a genuine heart to heart with Keroro in ''Reset'', even admitting to enjoying their conversation a little bit and gives the Platoon a second chance at invading earth. This... ''doesn't'' go over well when he gets demoted and returns four months later to find that they're ''still'' dicking around with no progress made.
-->'''HQ''': I gave you guy a second chance. Even ''I'' didn't get a second chance! Yet, here we are, four months of you squandering my generosity later with "spending time with loved ones and making new frie-..." ''(falls asleep)''
* TheVoice: Until Episode 22, he's never seen; only heard over intercoms, answering machines, or while having a monologue to a black screen.

!!Chief Medic Pururu
!!!Voiced by [=LillyLivers=]
A childhood friend of Keroro, Giroro and Dororo with something of a loony streak. Arrives out of nowhere to give the platoon checkups, which is just a cover for her to find out the platoon's weaknesses.
----

* ADegreeInUseless: WordOfGod says she got her medical degree in the Keron equivalent of Coney Island, which her voice actor [=LillyLivers=] describes as the "most backwards fucking place in the world". Her [[EntertaininglyWrong completely wrong]] diagnoses of the platoon confirm that in-universe.
* CloudCuckoolander: Most obvious as a kid. She seems fairly focused as an adult, but still has moments where her warped mind is noticeable.
* CuteAndPsycho: Attractive and pleasant; secretly harvesting organs for cash.
* DistaffCounterpart: To Keroro in many ways, including having a casual approach to sex and sexuality, being pretty rubbish at her job, and having her own "Serious Pururu" moment (as in "I'm so serious, even the jokes I tell are serious" Pururu).
* TheDitz: As a child, she doesn't seem aware of her surroundings or make clear conversation.
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood
-->"When [[TheAlcoholic my mommy drinks juice]], nobody's happy."
* TheMole: She's really there to learn the platoon's weaknesses and relay them to Garuru.
* StickyFingers: She reveals in her Season 2 finale reappearance that she's been pickpocketing the time-locked populace and shoplifting stores. In the audio blog, Giroro and Dororo reveal that she also stole a ''house''.

!!Solid Snake
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
The main character of the ''VideoGame/MetalGear'' games makes recurring cameos to reference said series. He mostly appeared as a recurring OneLiner gag, but became an actual InUniverse entity in Episode 7.
----

* AscendedExtra: He was originally just a random gag, but he became an actual character in Episode 7.
* DuelToTheDeath: With Raiden in the Season 2 finale. According to the credits, both lost. They're both back to life in ''Reset''.
* ReferenceOverdosed: To ''VideoGame/MetalGear'', specifically the first few ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid'' games.

!!Raiden
!!!Voiced by [=BigTUnit1=]
The fellow main character of the ''VideoGame/MetalGear'' games has also started appearing in Season 2. He does not reference [=MGS=] so much as act like a walking metrosexual Facebook/Twitter feed.
----

%%* TheDitz
* DuelToTheDeath: With Snake in the series finale. According to the credits, both lost. They're both back to life in ''Reset''.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He thinks he rocks. Almost no characters are aware of his presence.

!!Ocelot
!!!''[[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater MGS3]]'' Young Ocelot - Voiced by Xcaliborg (Episode 19), [=BigTUnit1=] (Episode 22)
!!!''[[VideoGame/MetalGearSolidVThePhantomPain MGSV]]'' Revolver Ocelot - Voiced by Jiggly Jacob (Episode 24)
Ocelot starts appearing in Season 3, at first as his ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater'' version, and then getting progressively older. Starting with Episode 22 he quotes various strange things Jiggly Jacob has said.
----

* ShoutOut: His lines in Episodes 22 and 24 are quotes from one of Jiggly Jacob's ''Sims 4'' videos.

[[/folder]]
[[folder:Garuru Platoon]]

!!Lieutenant Garuru
!!!Voiced by [=BigTUnit1=]
The ridiculously friendly, yet surprisingly dangerous, commanding officer of the Garuru Platoon and the older brother of Giroro. He is under the illusion that Keroro is a military genius when he's really a complete idiot, and thus anything Keroro does is mistaken for a brilliant strategy. He and his platoon are sent to Earth to finish off the Keroro Platoon in the event that the Kiruru from Episode 16 did not kill them all.
----

* TheAce: He's a highly skilled soldier who easily takes out his opponents... unless his opponent is Keroro, in which case he loses [[LogicBomb to himself]].
* AffablyEvil: He's so nice, it drives Giroro insane. [[spoiler:He later admits that he was overly polite in regards to Giroro because he didn't want to make his brother feel bad about all of his faults.]]
-->[[spoiler:"You have a ''lot'' of them".]]
* ArcVillain: For the two-part Season 2 finale.
* TheComicallySerious: Utterly deadpan and commanding. The one time he says anything remotely silly (E.G. "Well that was wacky"), he's completely straight-faced.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Implied at the end of Episode 18, and WordOfGod states this was the intention.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: His ship unceremoniously explodes. This is undone in ''Reset''.
* EvilCounterpart: To Giroro, though mostly as a result of ProtagonistCenteredMorality.
* KnightOfCerebus: The mood and dialogue take a much darker turn when he and his platoon arrive.
* LargeHam: Garuru loves the sound of his own voice, which is almost always oozing drama.
* NiceGuy: Or as his brother puts it:
-->'''Giroro''': "Warm-hearted ''bastard''!"
* SoProudOfYou: To Giroro, but mostly for mundane things from years back such as teaching him how to read. He is also aware that Giroro is a failed soldier, but he is convinced that his brother has survived thus far because of whatever skills he learned anyway. ''Reset'' also shows that[[spoiler:, despite his niceness being exaggerated for the sake of Giroro's self esteem,]] his pride in Giroro is completely genuine.
* VillainousBreakdown: He mistakes everything Keroro does as a genius maneuver, causing him to have a few mental battles ''with himself'' over it ([[LogicBomb and lose]]). By the end he finally snaps and just orders his platoon to attack.
* WorthyOpponent: To Giroro. Seems to think Keroro is this when he's really a complete idiot.

!!Lance Corporal Zoruru
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
The Garuru Platoon's half-cyborg assassin who kills by using a blade hidden in his robotic arm and speaks in a sneering whisper through a speaker. Being the cold-blooded opposite of Dororo, he is convinced that everyone wants to be his friend and that no one will leave him alone. He has heard rumours that Dororo is indestructible and wishes to prove them wrong.
----

* AxCrazy: He's all about murder and little else.
* CloudCuckoolander: Is paranoid that everyone wants to be his friend.
* DefeatEqualsFriendship: Played with. He never fights Dororo, but Dororo mistaking him for Robocop is enough to convince Zoruru that ''someone'' out there doesn't know about him. He leaves very happy, and as with Garuru, it is implied that he is on good terms with the Keroro Platoon afterward.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: His ship unceremoniously explodes. This is undone in ''Reset''.
* EvilCounterpart: To Dororo, even in personality: where Dororo used to feel lonely despite often being with friends, Zoruru is paranoid that people won't leave him alone and all want to befriend him, despite him usually working alone.
* EvilLaugh: Gives a low, quiet one before [[spoiler:killing Saburo]].
* HarmlessVillain: His introduction marks the first aversion of this trope in the series.
* KnightOfCerebus: He kills [[spoiler:Koyuki]] after his [[PreMortemOneLiner very first line]]. Practically every paranoia-drenched scene after subverts this.
* NoMouth: Talks through a speaker.
* WorthyOpponent: Wishes to prove that Dororo is not this. In his own weird way, it turns out he was.

!!Private Taruru
!!!Voiced by [=LillyLivers=]
The Garuru Platoon's frontline soldier who went to boot camp with Tamama and apparently drove her crazy.
----

* CheerfulChild: Despite looking physically matured, he is played as an always-upbeat child.
* CloudCuckoolander: Blissfully unaware that Tamama is very much not his "mentor" and was actively trying to kill him to get rid of him.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: His ship unceremoniously explodes. This is undone in ''Reset''.
* EyeBeams: His one-time method of attack.
* HarmlessVillain: The only reason he defeated Tamama was because Tamama defeated herself, and she redirects that power properly the next time they meet. The one time he does an attack, [[EyeScream he apparently hurts himself]].

!!Recruit Tororo
!!!Voiced by [=BigTUnit1=]
The hyperactive techie of the Garuru Platoon, Kululu's son, and a big fan of ''Mint's Hints''. He spends his time hacking Kululu's system and laughing maniacally for no reason.
----

* CloudCuckoolander: Talks to a piece of cheese he calls "Mister Triangle", and he unironically likes ''[[StylisticSuck Mint's Hints]]''.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: His ship unceremoniously explodes. This is undone in ''Reset''.
%%* EvilLaugh: A big, maniacal one, constantly.
%%* HarmlessVillain: Kululu defeats him fairly easily.
* TheHyena: Every scene with him is full of evil laughter.
%%* LargeHam
%%* MadScientist
%%* PlayfulHacker
%%* WellDoneSonGuy: Kululu is this to him.

[[/folder]]
[[folder:Shurara Corps]]

!!Shurara
!!!Voiced by [=ThornBrain=]
Leader and namesake of the Shurara Corps, and yet another person with a big grudge on Keroro. He has a flair for drama, a very literal mind, and is highly abusive of his own Corps. He is revealed to be [[spoiler:yet another child of Viper, his mother is Joriri, and a lifetime of taking Joriri's advice and being ignored by Joriri drove him insane. He and Keroro reconcile at the end of the series.]]
----

* ArtShift: Underneath his helmet is a [[spoiler:realistic snake head.]]
* BadBoss: He abuses and intimidates his subordinates, particularly the meek Nuii, and he reveals he kidnapped most of them.
* BerserkButton: Don't talk about how bad your life is, especially if you're Keroro. Shurara will respond with a furious rant and a relentless pummeling.
* BigBad: For Season 3.
* CaptainErsatz: His personality takes many cues from ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'', [[VideoGame/{{Borderlands2}} Handsome Jack]] and [[WebVideo/TheAudioLogsOfDrSquid Dr. Squid]].
* ChewingTheScenery: A large amount for a man with his head always in a helmet. Shurara is one of the most dramatic characters in the series who speaks with lots of enunciation and, as his VillainousBreakdown takes hold, righteous, furious screaming. [[spoiler:Once his helmet comes off, he's completely calm and collected.]]
* ColdHam: Much of his hammy JerkAss behaviour early on is spoken with complete calm.
* EasilyForgiven: [[spoiler:Due to Keroro seeing all of his own bad traits in Shurara, he lets Shurara off with "only two or three hard feelings", and they both agree to come out of the ordeal for the better.]]
%%* EvilIsHammy
* EvilLaugh: Lets one out in Episode 25 before immediately saying to "[[HypocriticalHumor Stop laughing!!!]]" As the episode progresses, his laughter changes from a signal of villainy to a [[LaughingMad gauge of his]] VillainousBreakdown.
* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler:His father is Viper, who left him to his mother, Joriri. This, taking Joriri's advice his whole life, and Joriri leaving him alone to go hang out with Keroro, made him go insane.]] He now sees Keroro as the root of all of his misery.
* GiantMecha: Uses a revived Big Robobo called Shurobobo as his personal mecha when fighting the Keroro Platoon.
* HearingVoices: The advice of his mother [[spoiler:Joriri]] continues to swirl around in his head, influencing his actions a'la Norman Bates and his mother from ''Film/{{Psycho}}''.
* HiddenDepths: Genuinely misses [[spoiler:Mekeke]] after he's killed in action.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: Acts proud and mighty, while underneath he's drowning in self-loathing.
%%* {{Jerkass}}
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:A special aversion in the Shurara Corps, alongside Kagege. Most other members either died during the course of the season (E.G.: Putata, Mekeke, Nuii) or were dead and resurrected in their backstories (E.G.: Dokuku, Giruru, Robobo). Shurara survives the whole season.]]
%%* LargeHam
* LaughingMad: The more cacophonous his laughter, the more insane he's becoming.
* LiteralMinded: Stock phrases such as "give them no quarter", "I ''ass''ume you are the one behind this", and "shower me in your reverence" take on different meanings in Shurara's mind.
* {{Revenge}}: He sees Keroro as the root of his life of misery. [[spoiler:His mother, Joriri, gave him obscure advice his whole life which, after being abandoned by Joriri to go hang out with Keroro, he interpreted as a mission to kill Keroro. This was compounded with Viper reconnecting with Keroro but continuing to not know or care about Shurara.]]
%%* PreAssKickingOneLiner: "Mother's orders."
* SchoolyardBullyAllGrownUp: Much of his abuse of Nuii is childish, hinting back to her being his doll in his childhood.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Has a javelin for a hand and a helmet with horns and side axe blades.
* SuddenlyShouting: One of his intimidation tactics used on his corps.
--> '''Gyororo''': "Sir! Something weird's going on with the platoon now. There's some kind of power struggle with one of their captains."\
'''Shurara''': "Well then good thing you're here! 'Cause if you weren't I could actually ''SEE IT! '''GO'''''!"
* TranquilFury: While he spends most of his fight yelling in anger, he drops to an eerie calm [[spoiler:as he hears Joriri tell him to kill Keroro, delivering the final blow.]]
* WellDoneSonGuy: He is angry that [[spoiler:Joriri left him to spend time with Keroro, and that Viper was happy to reconnect with Keroro in adulthood but continued to not know or care about Shurara]].
* VillainousBreakdown: Becomes increasingly furious and unhinged as the season progresses and more of his Corps [[spoiler:die]] to the Keroro platoon. When he becomes directly involved in Episode 25, he drops all pretense of being cool and threatening, instead letting out all of his hatred and madness in the platoon's direction.

!!Nuii
!!!Voiced by King Theo (''Reset''-Episode 20), Thaichestnuts (Episode 22-Episode 24)
A meek Keronian-shaped doll who can transform herself and anyone around her into teddies. She was Shurara's doll as a child, and she is the subject of most of his abuse.
----

* AntiVillain: Doesn't want to hurt anyone, but is forced to out of both fear and loyalty to Shurara.
* ApologeticAttacker: Shurara forces her to take out the platoon, and she apologizes profusely while doing so.
* ApologizesALot: Shurara's abuse makes her instinctively apologize for anything that could be seen as a mistake.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: [[spoiler:Natsumi's kindness convinces her to turn on Shurara and stop Gyororo.]]
* BecomingTheMask: She [[spoiler:pretends to be Natsumi's teddy bear]], and Natsumi's love and kindness reminds her of Shurara's childhood love. She implies her feelings of wishing to stay with Natsumi while still in disguise.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:Episode 24 ends with her flying directly into Todd Sirkowski's hot air balloon and exploding, right after a [[BlackComedy heartfelt goodbye with Natsumi]]]].
* ForcedTransformation: Her special power is to transform living people into teddy bear versions of themselves.
* FreudianExcuse: Despite Shurara's constant abuse of her, she stays with him because she was his favorite toy when he was a child.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Natsumi convinces her to defy Shurara, and she helps stop Gyororo]].
* LivingToys: Shurara's childhood doll, which he brought to life when he assembled his corps.
* TragicVillain: Loyal to her former owner who no longer treats her kindly, wishes she could stay with Natsumi but acknowledges it would be wrong, and [[spoiler:[[DroppedABridgeOnHim gets blown up by Todd while saying goodbye]]]].
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Is able to transform into [[spoiler:the exact appearance of Natsumi's childhood teddy bear in order to infiltrate the Hinata house]].

!!Mekeke
!!!Voiced by Vorhias
The puppeteer and mind-controller of the Shurara Corps, and Shurara's YesMan.
----

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:Saburo sets him on fire at the climax of Episode 20. Dokuku reveals in the post-credits that Mekeke did not survive.]]
* EvilLaugh: Laughs maniacally and frequently once he is properly introduced.
* MarionetteMaster: Uses a spider marionette to fight along with PeoplePuppets.
* MindControl: He can possess the minds of the people he strings up.
* PeoplePuppets: His method of controlling people is to string them up from above.
* YesMan: Despite being willing to tell Shurara when he's making a dumb decision, he usually sucks up to Shurara as well.
-->'''Shurara''': "It gave me goosebumps!"
-->'''Mekeke''': "''My'' goose was thoroughly bumped!"

!!Putata
!!!Voiced by Thorn
The MadArtist of the Shurara Corps who can bring his art to life. Speaks in a TotallyRadical NonSequitur cavalcade.
----

* ArtInitiatesLife: Has the power to bring anything he paints on the wall into existence, be it robots or monsters.
* BlackComedy: Buried in the piles of his {{non sequitur}}s are mentions of being molested as a child by his uncle and hating his father. [[spoiler:[[BoomHeadshot His death is darkly comical as well]].]]
* BoomHeadshot: [[spoiler:Giroro takes him out with one clean shot through the head.]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Everything he says is a ridiculous, TotallyRadical NonSequitur sandwich.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:Invoked. Thorn decided that the only satisfying way to kill off such a supremely annoying character is to do it as quickly, anti-climatically, and unceremoniously as possible.]]
* {{Expy}}: His voice and mannerisms are taken directly from Thorn's versions of VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog and Davis from ''WebVideo/TamersAbridged''.
%%* MadArtist
* NonSequitur: Everything he says is this, spoken in a TotallyRadical avalanche.
%%* TotallyRadical
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: [[spoiler:How Giroro takes him out, and how Thorn could only think of how to wrap up such an annoying character]].

!!Dokuku
!!!Voiced by [[https://www.youtube.com/user/GuttedWrenStudios ShazMyBot]] (Episode 20), Jiggly Jacob (Episode 21)
The Shurara Corps's resident ghost who hates his boss.
----

* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Shurara killed Dokuku and forced him to work for him by making him a ghost and claiming that Dokuku is now bound to him. [[spoiler:Giruru points out that Dokuku couldn't leave Shurara's side if that were the case, and Dokuku promptly leaves.]]
* AntiVillain: He's only after Keroro so that Shurara will finally free him.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: Ours is made of steam and has a scythe for a hand.
%%* RedRightHand: His scythe arm.
* TakeAThirdOption: His job is to kill Keroro, and it's either do that or return to Shurara. When he finds his brother, Giruru, he instead opts to hide out in the platoon's vaults until Shurara's gone.

!!Giruru
!!!Voiced by Jiggly Jacob
A gel Keronian and Dokuku's brother who was locked in the Keroro Platoon's vaults.
----

* BlobMonster: Was liquefied when Shurara killed him.
* BrutalHonesty: Outright tells his brother that he's stupid, but that it's okay.
%%* NoMouth

!!Robobo
!!!Voiced by Thorn
A robot Keronian programmed to make friends, kill said friends, and party. He has magnetic powers utilized by his magnet hands, and he can fuse people with nearby machinery. He comes in two forms: a normal Keronian-sized body and a giant mecha. He later comes back in a second giant mecha body, Shurobobo, piloted directly by Shurara. Kululu cannibalizes this body when Shurara isn't looking to create Kerobobo, a more charismatic Gundam for the platoon's use.
----

* BrainUploading: He was once a living Keronian soldier who exploded after Keroro called him a nerd. Unlike other Shurara Corps members, who were resurrected in new forms to become part of the team, he was instead uploaded into a robot.
* CaptainErsatz: His speaking mannerisms are based on Robot from ''WebVideo/TheAudioLogsOfDrSquid'', who was also voiced by Thorn [[NoIndoorVoice in a constant yell]] through a ring modulator.
* DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist: Defeated in both forms by Dororo in Episode 22, two of Dororo's few badass moments in the entire series, but being a robot, Shurara easily brings him back in Episode 25. He survives this time, even after getting torn apart by Kululu to become the Keroro Platoon's new giant mech.
* ForcedTransformation: One of his abilities is combining people with nearby machinery.
* HeelFaceTurn: He becomes the Keroro Platoon's new giant mech after Kululu tears him apart to make Kerobobo.
* HumongousMecha: His second, third and fourth forms.
* KillerRobot: He's programmed to "show love inefficiently", I.E. murder everyone.
* LargeHam: After becoming Kerobobo, he speaks with more flair, charisma and bravado.
-->"May your sinuses forever be quenched!"
* LetsGetDangerous: After becoming Kerobobo:
-->"What this party needs is an ''ass kicking''!"
* LifeOfTheParty: How he views himself.
-->"What this party needs is a ''love machine''!"
* NoIndoorVoice: His principal voice is a constant yell. He is able to speak at a normal volume as Kerobobo, but he's still usually yelling.
* ObliviouslyEvil: He is programmed to view the platoon as his new friends, and he is eager to show them love. Unfortunately he shows it with murder.
-->"I have been programmed to show love inefficiently. By the orders of Shurara, you are my new friends. '''ADD ME'''!"

!!Gyororo
!!!Voiced by [=LillyLivers=]
A young Keronian covered in eyes and has invisibility and laser powers. He acts as Shurara's eyes while spying on the platoon. He is only helping Shurara because he is endlessly entertained by Shurara's insanity.
----

* EyeBeams: Has laser eye abilities, but only ever uses them once.
* ExtraEyes: Has multiple eyes covering his body.
* FacelessEye: When he is invisible, one single radiating eye can still be seen.
* {{Invisibility}}: Can disappear into the walls, but one single radiating eye is left visible. Dororo is the only person who can detect him in this form.
* ItAmusedMe: He is a peculiar version of a voyeur: he likes to watch insane people because it entertains him. Thus, he is only helping Shurara because he gets to watch Shurara be completely nuts.
-->"Seriously, if he wasn't around, I'd be watching [the Keroro Platoon] permanently. You're horrible people, but he's ''cracked''!"
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:One of the few aversions of the Shurara Corps. He survives his episode and is simply locked in the vaults after getting captured in a bubble]].
* MrExposition: Once Dororo outs him, he explains his and Nuii's relationships with Shurara.

!!Yukiki
!!!Voiced by [[Creator/EdwynTiong Omahdon]]
A snowman Keronian with snow and ice powers. When [[spoiler:Mekeke dies]], he takes over as Shurara's right hand man. He was Keroro's commanding sergeant during a battle on Planet Fukitsculdere, but a toilet balloon landed on him. Keroro stole his sergeant's star and left him to die in the frozen tundra.
----

* AnIcePerson: After dying on Planet Fukitsculdere, Shurara revived him as a snowman with snow powers.
* AntiVillain: Sees Keroro as a murderer and ruiner of innocent lives, and he wants to see Keroro's reign of destruction brought to an end.
* TheDragon: After Mekeke kicked the bucket, Yukiki essentially took over as second-in-command for the rest of the season, up until his own death in the finale.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:After a few minutes of threatening the platoon, Kululu simply blasts him with a burning hot laser, melting him into a puddle.]]
* HarmlessVillain: Despite trying his damnedest, and at best taking out Giroro's gun, he proves to be no threat to the platoon.
* LargeHam: Is very theatrical when he takes on the platoon himself.
-->"Master of ice and snow! Freezer-off-er of your ''butt''! I am Yukikiiiii!"
* {{Revenge}}: He has a personal vendetta against Keroro for taking his job and leaving him to die.
* {{Snowlems}}: Brought back as a living snowman.
* TragicVillain: Had both his career usurped and life taken from him in one night.

!!Kagege
!!!Voiced by [=BigTUnit1=]
A mysterious, faceless Keronian with the ability to bring shadows to life. Keroro called him a wiener in front of his mom, and now he seeks revenge.
----

* AntiClimax: Invoked with his crying. Travis gave him a deep wheeze followed by a pitiful grunt as a joke about people who dramatically build up a sneeze, but the sneeze itself is small.
* CastingAShadow: His ability is to bring people's shadows to life, which have roughly the same abilities as the original person.
* TheDragon: Only through process of elimination. He's the final obstacle the Keroro Platoon faces before confronting Shurara.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:A special aversion in the Shurara Corps, alongside Shurara himself. All of the other subordinates either died during the course of the season (E.G.: Putata, Mekeke, Nuii) or were dead before and resurrected by Shurara in their backstories (E.G.: Dokuku, Giruru, Robobo). Kagege was always alive prior[[note]]He was presumed dead in the past but he was simply in hiding[[/note]] and he survives the whole season.]]
* InelegantBlubbering: His sobbing is a loud wheeze followed by a pitiful grunt.
* NoMouth: His face lacks a mouth.
* PragmaticVillain: He knows that fighting the platoon himself would be hopeless due to their track record of killing his colleagues, so he uses the Keroro Platoon's shadows against them as an equal fight instead.
* {{Revenge}}: Keroro called him a wiener in front of his mom. This had as big an impact on him as Yukiki being left to die.
* SomethingWeForgot: [[spoiler:The platoon defeat him and tie him up halfway through the episode. At the very end, he's still lying there in the mansion sobbing.]]
