%% NOTE - the Administrivia/RealLifeTroping policy states that we can only trope people appearing on a RealityShow as 'characters' if "there is clearly an intent to portray a fictional narrative", e.g. by using selective editing.
%%
%% That rule broadly covers the contestants, especially when in their drag personas - but we can only trope them in the context of the show, not as real people. For hosts, judges and other non-contestants, we can only trope them here if we can demonstrate that they adopt a distinct persona for the show.
%%
%% This rule also means that we can't list Administrivia/NoRealLifeExamplesPlease tropes against a real person.
%%
%% Per this ATT https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=114200&type=att, this also means we should not add real names or other personal information that is not explicitly given on the show.

!The Judges
For the shows where they're a judge, [=RuPaul=] has the final say in who stays, who goes, and who ultimately wins the crown, but is also joined by a pair of other judges to bounce opinions back and forth. For the original ''[=RuPaul=]'s Drag Race'' show they've had the power to bring back a previously-eliminated queen since season 3, but only if the judges can agree on one.

In addition, they're joined by one or more celebrities each week, who'll assist with the challenges and/or participate as guest judges for the critiques.[[note]]General rule of thumb, if a guest judge is a female singer, the song for the proceeding ''"Lip Sync for Your Life"'' will usually be one of their songs.[[/note]]

For ''Drag Race UK'', [=RuPaul=] sits on the judges' panel along with Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr (rotating on a single seat like Carson and Ross), plus one celebrity guest judge.

For ''Drag Race Down Under'', [=RuPaul=] and Michelle are most often joined only by Rhys Nicholson, with celebrities more commonly making their appearances via Zoom call.

In international iterations that don't include [=RuPaul=] and Michelle, the judging panel generally consists of a nationally renowned drag queen as host and senior judge, a female friend of said drag queen who's involved with the fashion industry, and sometimes one or two judges who are involved with the TV industry; though this is not a hard rule and varies somewhat across shows and seasons.

Some of the international judges have also made other appearances in the franchise - in addition to judging, some were previously competitors on one or more ''Drag Race'' shows or have made guest appearances as Lipsync Assassins. At least one has entered another ''Drag Race'' show as a competitor after serving as a regular judge on her national show.

This page is primarily for tropes regarding their roles as judges. If a judge has also been a competitor, tropes specific to their competition appearances will be listed against the relevant seasons, not here.

->'''From''': San Diego, California

->"If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an amen?"
----

* ArtisticLicenseBiology: While giving Adore Delano a pep talk she talks about how when a bone breaks, the place where it heals becomes the strongest point on that bone ... this is actually a medical myth, research has shown there is no evidence that a healed fracture site on a bone is any stronger or weaker than the rest of the bone.
* ArtisticLicenseHistory: Claims that the term "DRAG" is derived from Creator/WilliamShakespeare himself meaning [=Dressed Resembling A Girl=] ... however, this is just a myth and is easily disproven due to the fact that not only are [[FunWithAcronyms acronyms]] a product of the last century (and not used during Shakespeare's time period), but the term "girl" at the time was only used to describe a female child, and was not interchanged with "young woman" like it has been in more modern times.
* CatchPhrase: As the show's host and [[OneJudgeToRuleThemAll lead judge]] she has several, most delivered at least once an episode, including:
** ''"Good luck, and [[PrecisionFStrike don't fuck it up]]"''
** ''"Hello, hello, hello!"'' whenever she first enters the workroom.
** ''"Eleganza Extravaganza!"'' as well as ''"Gag on my Eleganza!"''
** ''"You'd better work!"'', from her song ''Supermodel''.
** ''"Gentlemen, start your engines ... and may the best woman win!"'' This has been modified to ''"Racers, start your engines, and may the best drag queen win!"'' Notably, this debuted in season 13, the first season of ''any'' incarnation of the show to feature a trans man.
** When Ru gets a glowing compliment from one of her judges about the gown she's wearing that week, she will occasionally reply with a ''"This old thing?"''
** ''"Condragulations"'' to the queen who wins the challenge of the week.
** ''"Shantay, you stay"'' for the queen who wins the Lip Sync for Their Life.
** ''"[[EliminationCatchphrase Now sashay ... away]]"'' for the queen who is eliminated that week.
** ''"If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an amen? (AMEN!) [[DancePartyEnding Now let the music play]]!"'' at the end of every episode.
** ''"You've got she-mail!"'' has been officially retired as of Season 6, due to the backlash from the transgender community, and has been replaced in Season 7 with ''"Ooo! She’d already done had herses!"''
** BorrowedCatchphrase: She has officially pilfered Alaska's signature ''"Hiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee!"''
* DareToBeBadass: All Stars 8 developed a Werk Room environment that got so heated and tense, that by episode 7 a ''second'' queen threatened to quit after one already walked off set in episode 5. In response, Ru himself (of his own volition or possibly production's) surprised the queens by walking in unannounced, and gave them a speech to shake them out of their funk and light a fire under their asses again. It's a reminder that Ru values ''fire'' in his contestants.
* DoItYourselfThemeTune: [[RunningGag Available on iTunes]]!
* FunWithAcronyms: All of her queens have to come to the competition ready to show off their '''C'''harisma, '''U'''niqueness, '''N'''erve, and '''T'''alent.
%%* GenderBlenderName
* TheHyena: Ru's laugh is even on one of the show's eyecatches. Ru has a campy, sleazy sense of humor, and admits she loves to laugh. We're talking a full-blown cackle here.
* ItSeemedLikeAGoodIdeaAtTheTime: Her hindsight reaction to Season 2's "[[TastesLikeChicken Chicken or What?]]'' mini-challenge. She says it looked like a good idea on paper ... but the end result ([[{{Squick}} in particular the smell]]) still gives her nightmares.
** Also her reaction upon realizing she sat guest judge Leah Remini right next to Michelle Visage. As she predicted, the two end up bickering hilariously like alley cats the entire time.
* TheMentor: Besides serving this role in the workroom, Ru also once a season sits down with the final three (or four) contestants for a "lunch" (consisting of a single Tic-Tac for the contestant) and talks to them, frequently about their life experiences and struggles.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: It is ''very'' rare indeed for Ru to ever admit she was wrong, however in Season 7 she admitted that she and the show had made a mistake in the very unflattering editing they gave Jasmine Masters, which caused Jasmine to become the target of hateful racial slurs and even death threats online (causing Jasmine to become genuinely afraid for her safety). Come the reunion, she felt she needed to make amends for this, and set up a personalized video message for Jasmine from her favorite celebrity, Patti [=LaBelle=], to 'lift her back up' after the show made her feel so down.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Believe it or not, she's in her 60s.
* OneJudgeToRuleThemAll: Makes no effort to hide the fact that her choice as to who to eliminate or crown is final, though she will take the other judges' words into consideration.
* PungeonMaster: Invokes this trope and inserts "Ru" into as many challenge titles as possible. They can't just have a musical, they have to have a ''Ru''sical.
* RageBreakingPoint: Occasionally, Ru administers a little tough love, but it's even rarer when the queens fail hard enough to ''truly'' piss her off. She reached one after the ''[=ShakesQueer=]'' maxi-challenge in season 7, in which just about every member of the losing team made excuses and refused to [[NeverMyFault accept any responsibility]] for their poor performance. Just one queen doing this is enough to irk her, but ''six'' was just too much for Mama Ru as she told them to stop making excuses and to step up their game! (Rumor has it Ru's actual tirade was much, much longer than what was shown during the episode, but she actually had the cameras turned off at one point for most of it.)
-->'''[=RuPaul=]:''' For all you girls up there, I don’t want to hear any god damn excuses! [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Make. it. work.]] Fucking make it happen!
** Ru reached another one during UK season 2, directly after the cast returned from a seven-month sabbatical due to the UsefulNotes/Covid19Pandemic. Ru noticed (and by noticed, we're talking a full DeathGlare here) that a few looks were not up to par, especially for queens who've had seven months to refine them. The Breaking Point came when Joe Black had the gall to joke about getting her look in the girl group challenge from ''H&M'' (in other words, off the rack), causing Ru to go off on everyone on stage that they should hold themselves to a higher standard than that.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: PlayedForLaughs, as she likes to jokingly claim she's really 200 years old.
* SassyBlackWoman: While in drag ... and sometimes even while in Boy Mode.
* SeriousBusiness: Any of [=RuPaul=]'s product lines are serious business to her (such as with her music CD's or her 'Glamazon' make-up line). When the queens have to advertise a fake product, Ru seems to lean more towards the silly and campy when it comes to the SlidingScaleOfSillinessVersusSeriousness, however, when it comes to her ''own'' products, although Ru enjoys an amusing ad, she wants the queens to treat her merchandise with proper respect, and not as a joke.
* ShamelessSelfPromoter: Done with a wink and a nudge, keeping it on the right side of {{Camp}}, but still done ''very'' often.
* SharpDressedMan: In Boy Mode, is hardly ever seen without a nicely tailored suit. This has led to comments that it's impossible for Ru to look anything less than stunning as either gender, much to the dismay of people who have difficultly looking good even as one!
* ShatteringTheIllusion: One of her biggest pet peeves is when queens use their own hair in drag, especially when they have a masculine buzzcut/hairline.
* ShipperOnDeck: Has no qualms about telling queens (or Santino) that she thinks they need to hook up. When she ships Ivy and Jinkx at the reunion and is told the reason they can't hook up is because Ivy already has a boyfriend, she just points out [[ThreesomeSubtext they should get Ivy's boyfriend involved as well]]!
* SignatureMove: Raising her left arm and posing in beat with "Covergirl", when introducing the runway part of each episode.
* SirSwearsalot: Is certainly no stranger to dropping F-bombs, it's even included in one of her most common [[CatchPhrase catch phrases]]. It's said she gained this trait from her loving mother, who had the mouth of a sailor (instead of just saying "don't fuck it up", Mother Ru would say "don't fuck it up, you [[VulgarHumor pussy-mouthed motherfucker!]]").
** {{Hypocrite}}: Despite this, she will usually be the first to chastise her queens on their naughty language during a challenge.
* SplitPersonality: [=RuPaul=] in a suit is a caring mentor figure who helps the queens show their best face in the challenges. [=RuPaul=] in a dress is the Final Judge whose word is law.
** There's also a third personality that most commonly shows up during the ClipShow or during a [=RuVealed=] season, that's a more in-character and scripted [=RuPaul=] which employs a liberal use of the stock "kiki" voice and generally is a lot less serious than how she seems un-(or at least ''less-'')scripted.
* StatuesqueStunner: Stands a staggering 6'4 ... ''before'' heels and hair! Rather appropriate given Ru's gigantic stature in the drag world in general.
* StealthInsult:
** As "Workroom Ru" she specializes in these when she feels a queen she's checking up on is going in the wrong direction for a challenge. Depending on the queen they may or may not get it.
** Multiple times during the All Stars 2 reunion she calls Phi Phi out ... although she doesn't mention her by name, its painfully obvious she's calling BS on Phi Phi's claims against the show.
* ThisIsACompetition: As she has said, ''"this (show), like everything else in life, is a competition."''
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Michelle Visage]]
!Creator/MichelleVisage [-(Season 3 - present; ''UK'' Series 1 - present; ''Down Under'' Series 1 - present)-]

->'''From''': Perth Amboy, New Jersey

->"Stop relying on that body!"
----

* AccentuateTheNegative: Quite a few queens have called her out on her harsh and bitchy criticisms in her personalized view of what drag should be. However ...
** DrillSergeantNasty: Behind the scenes (especially during her aftershow ''Whatcha Packin' with Michelle Visage'') she has gone on record saying she thinks every single Drag Queen on the show is fabulous in their own way, and explains that when she's on the judge's panel she only critiques so harshly because she wants her queens to hone and improve their skills.
* BerserkButton: Due to the bullying she was subjected to when she was in school, she absolutely loathes bullies and cliques, and hates seeing the queens enter into them to work to single out other queens, like with Season 3's Heathers and Season 5's Rolaskatox. She even hates it when queens ''pretend'' to act like bullies, like when she venomously criticized Season 6's Adore and Laganja's make-up ad if only because of their assigned theme of "Mean Girls".
* BigBreastPride: Loves to show off her big breasts. Also not afraid to admit she bought them and has no issue telling you so.
** This was the case until 2019 when she revealed she had undergone "explant" (breast reduction) surgery to remove the implants as she felt they were causing and exacerbating an autoimmune disease she had developed shortly after the original breast augmentation surgery.
* ButtMonkey: Is Ru's personal butt monkey, and she loves every minute of it!
-->'''Sharon Needles''': "Robin Mansion's face repels beauty! I tell you, nothing makes a girl feel prettier than standing next to this one here."
-->'''[=RuPaul=]''': "Well, that's why I hang out with Michelle Visage!"
* CatchPhrase: "Stop relying on that body!" ever since Season 3, given to any queen whom Michelle feels is serving too much "fish" and not enough talent.
** BorrowedCatchphrase: Gets borrowed by plenty of the other queens in later seasons, too.
* FagHag: Definitely something she prides herself on, which the queens take the opportunity to point out at roasts:
-->'''Detox''': "Michelle's favorite movie in the world is ''Film/{{Showgirls}}''. And much like Nomi Malone, she relies on the talents of her black friend."
-->'''Peppermint''': "Not since Destiny's Child has there been a Michelle so famous for riding somebody else's coattails!"
* TheHyena: Possibly as much as [=RuPaul=] herself, her extremely loud and boisterous laugh is legendary. When Sharon Needles impersonates her for season 4's Snatch Game, she imitates [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL9KmqigZxA Visage's infamous cackle]], which according to her, could be heard from anywhere backstage.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Her dislike of the color green, even though it stems due to the fact it doesn't look good ''on her'', the fashion industry also treats green as a very difficult color to work with, as it rarely photos very well and just isn't very flattering on a lot of people. In addition, when a queen ''does'' pull off green, Michelle will normally (begrudgingly) admit it.
** Also a number of her critiques do actually make sense at times, even if the delivery comes off a little bitchy or harsh.
* {{Joisey}}: Often mocked, and she has the accent, demeanor and look down pat.
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: Occasionally critiques something about a queen's presentation or styling only to have the queen explain it's actually part of their body. A mild example was asking Thorgy Thor what was with the bump-it (Thorgy has butt-length dreadlocks, which were bundled up under her wig); more seriously embarrassing was commenting on The Vivienne's prosthetic nose for her Queen Elizabeth II runway. It was not a prosthetic. This became a running gag for the rest of Drag Race UK season 1.
* PretentiousPronunciation: When Santino calls her out on mispronouncing "Brocade" she tries to claim that's how they [[EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench say it in France]] ... as an actual Fashion Designer, he doesn't buy that even for a second.
* ShatteringTheIllusion: Has a pet peeve against queens who constantly use a breast plate as a major aspect of their runway look. She once even whipped out her own breasts during a rant on how the plates just don't look like the real thing (the breastplate in this case could be spotted as fake by any random on the street!). Which is ironic considering she's freely admitted to having implants herself, but also occasionally receives a HypocrisyNod.
* WhatTheHellHero: Will not hesitate to call the queens out for targeting a fellow competitor, like when Roxxxy, Alaska, and Detox (or Rolodex as she called them) gang up on Jinkx Monsoon to vote her out.

->"Be you but don’t be you. Give us less but more!"
----

* TheFashionista: As the "fashion savant" from ''Series/QueerEye'', he took over [[PutOnABus Santino Rice]]'s role as judge.
* PhraseCatcher: "Style superstar Carson Kressley!"
* PutOnABus: Was almost completely absent from judging in Season 11, finally reappearing in Episode 12 to which they joke about his season-long absence.
** Happened again in Season 15, due to contracting COVID-19. He was only in three episodes and missed most of the second half of the season, though the reason was only confirmed later.
* RevolvingDoorCasting: He shares the position of second permanent judge with Ross Mathews and they alternate on the chair every episode or so, with Carson usually being present for the fashion challenges. They are both present for finales, or if there's only one special guest judge.

->"As quite possibly the biggest super fan of ''[=RuPaul=]’s Drag Race'' in the entire galaxy, I take my position as a judge very seriously and will proudly serve as a voice for my fellow super fans ... albeit a [[VocalDissonance very high-pitched voice]]."
----

* AscendedExtra: Was a guest judge in season 4 and was then upgraded to full-time judge (sharing the position with Carson Kressley) since Season 7, replacing Santino Rice.
* TheBeard: After Michelle reads Season 7's Kandy Ho for painting herself with a beard: "I had a beard once, a lovely girl."
* CatchPhrase: Has a tendency when he gives positive critique to give a very specific situation to try and get his point across:
-->"You know when you (Insert very specific analogy here), that's you!"
* DoWellButNotPerfect: When he judges the queens, he prefers them to 'have a little stank on them' and not be ''too'' pretty.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Three seasons before becoming a full-time judge, he appeared as a celebrity guest judge in season 4's Snatch Game episode.
* EffeminateVoice: Ross' high pitched voice has been the subject of gags throughout his time on the show.
* PhraseCatcher: Usually it's "the hilarious Ross Mathews!", sometimes "funny man Ross Mathews".
* PungeonMaster: And it's glorious!
-->'''Ross''': ''The other girls better ketchup. They mustard about her. I want you to relish this moment. Somebody stop me!''
* RevolvingDoorCasting: He shares the position of second permanent judge with Carson Kressley and they alternate on the chair every episode or so, with Ross usually being present for the comedy challenges. They are both present for finales, or if there's only one special guest judge.
* VocalDissonance: Has quite a high-pitched {{Camp}} voice, [[SelfDeprecation which he himself pokes fun of]].

!Ts Madison [-(Season 15 - present)-]

----
* AscendedExtra: Was a guest judge over 3 episodes of seasons 13 and 14, before being promoted to regular judge on Ross and Carson's rotating seat. She was also portrayed by Silky Nutmeg Ganache in season 11's Snatch Game.
* RevolvingDoorCasting: She joins Ross Mathews and Carson Kressley for the spot of second permanent judge, with one of the three occupying the seat every episode.

----

* AccentuateTheNegative: Most of his critiques, to the frustration of some queens such as Shannel and Latrice Royale who find them more mean-spirited than anything.
* AesopAmnesia: After he likens Latrice Royale's runway look to a "couch from Rent-A-Center," she lays into him for giving critiques that aren't helpful, just insulting for the sake of humor. Although Rice does apologize, he does the exact same thing the following season when he likens Roxxxy Andrew's long-fringed runway look to [[Franchise/StarWars Chewbacca]]. It almost feels like [[LaserGuidedKarma karma]] when guest judge [[Series/ThirdRockFromTheSun Kristen Johnston]] immediately tells him to shut up, calling Roxxxy's look "perfection".
%%* DeadpanSnarker
* DemotedToExtra: [[PutOnABus Sashayed away]] as full-time judge for Season 7, only being brought back for a single episode as a guest judge.
* TheFashionista: Something of a male example and his role in the show as a judge, as he's a gay/bisexual fashion designer best known for his role on ''Series/ProjectRunway''.
* InSeriesNickname: Sometimes teasingly referred to as "Clown-Fucker", which is slang for a guy who likes to have sex with drag queens.
* PhraseCatcher: "Shake the dice and steal the rice, it's Santino!", or some variation thereof.
* PrematurelyBald: Often when the queens retaliate to his critiques this is something they bring up. Santino for his part usually laughs along. As a note, as of Season 6 Santino has shaved his head completely smooth.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: Another thing they'll point out is that he was the runner-up on his season of ''Project Runway.''

!Merle Ginsberg [-(Seasons 1-2)-]

->"When I heard the name Ongina, I thought, 'Oh my dear. This sounds like a cross between a heart attack and a yeast infection.'"
----

* BoringButPractical: Although she certainly had all the credentials to be a judge, she just did not have the same level of camp that Ru and Santino (and her eventual replacement, Michelle) had.
%%* TheFashionista
%%* FagHag
* PutOnABus: Was only a judge during the first two seasons before being permanently replaced by Michelle Visage.
** TheBusCameBack: [[http://www.newnownext.com/rupauls-drag-race-season-7-premiere-date-announced/01/2015/ As a guest judge for season 7.]]
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Not only was she replaced come season 3, she's also never mentioned in the context of the show ever again. Also, the true nature of her departure is somewhat of a mystery, as neither Ru nor Merle have ever provided any explanation (or even an acknowledgement).
** This trope was played with to hilarious effect in the season 7 episode with Merle as a guest judge. The maxi challenge featured the queens performing in three different (all equally ridiculous) versions of what really happened to result in Michelle replacing Merle.
** Two of the most prevalent theories are that she left the show to pursue new opportunities, or that she was [[PoorMansSubstitute just a placeholder]] for when Michelle Visage could be brought in as a judge.

* AscendedExtra: He occupies a permanent spot at the judges' table during All Stars 2.
* DemotedToExtra: After All Stars 2 he reverted to guest judge status.
* OnceASeason: Since Season 8, he shows up in one or two episodes to help the queens with a challenge as vocal coach and/or choreographer, then joins Ru as a guest judge.

I think that’s a real difference that you get watching the other versions. No matter how dramatic or tense it is the British queens are still having a laugh."
----

* EarlyBirdCameo: He was a guest judge for an episode of ''All Stars 2'', a few years before getting the permanent judge spot in ''UK''.
* GentleTouchVsFirmHand: Whereas Alan can be quite waspish, and doesn't always ''get'' what the girls have put together for a given week, Graham is much more likely to accentuate the positive.
* SharpDressedMan: Always sports beautifully tailored, often wildly patterned jackets for his judging duties.

->"Put a comb through your bloody hair!"
----

* CheshireCatGrin: Sports a famously downturned, sarcastic smile showing off his gappy teeth.
* GentleTouchVsFirmHand: Whereas Graham has the pop-cultural smarts and carefree personality to understand what the girls have put together each week, whilst still offering supportive critique, Alan is much more blunt and more easily annoyed by concepts less overtly camp and blatant.

->'''From''': Bangkok, Central Thailand

->"This is a 'lip-sync for your life'. I don't see life in it."
----
* BorrowedCatchphrase: Since her role on ''Thailand'' is analogous to that of [=RuPaul=] on the American franchise, she frequently finds herself repeating Ru's show-specific catchphrases, particularly "Gentlemen, start your engines..." and "Don't fuck it up!".
* BrutalHonesty: Art is very straightforward with and very critical of the queens, even when they're at their lowest moments. She does make it clear that she cares about the queens and wants them to live up to their potential, which keeps her from falling into CausticCritic territory, but she nevertheless tends to be the harshest voice on the judges' panel.
* GratuitousEnglish: Not to the same extent as Pangina, who is noticeably more fluent in the language, but she does slip random English phrases into her speech every now and then, and when addressing queens who don't speak Thai, she switches entirely into English.
* RedOniBlueOni: Art (the blue) is elegant, quite stern, and typically maintains her composure, while Pangina (the red) is louder, more animated, and yells encouragement from the sidelines.
* TheStoic: She maintains a deadpan countenance at all times when judging. In contrast to Pangina, who will spring from her seat and cheer at any opportunity, not even the most thrilling lip-sync or stunning outfit can elicit so much as a smile out of Art.
* VerbalTic: When addressing a queen directly, she has a tendency to append "dahling" to the end of every other sentence.

->'''From''': Bangkok, Central Thailand

->"Fight for your life!"
----

* FrontlineGeneral:
** Pangina is the first queen to host a ''Drag Race'' series and then be a contestant on another one, having never been a full-fledged contestant prior (Brooke Lynn Hytes was a contestant on Season 11 of the American series before becoming a host and judge on ''Canada's Drag Race'').
** Pangina also participated in ''Thailand'' Season 2's blindfolded makeup mini-challenge, as the challenge required the queens to pair off but without Pangina's inclusion there would have been an odd number of queens. In general, if an opportunity arises for a member of the Thai hosting duumvirate to temporarily step down from her pedestal, Pangina is the one to take it.
* GratuitousEnglish: Pangina is fluent in both Thai and English, and tends to pepper her speech with English quite a bit while hosting ''Thailand''.
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: While she does have some composure out of drag, when she's at the judges' panel, she's as enthusiastic as can be, loudly cheering on the queens as they walk the runway and shouting encouragements from the sidelines during lip-syncs.
* RedOniBlueOni: Pangina (the red) is louder, more animated, and yells encouragement from the sidelines, whereas Art (the blue) is elegant, quite stern, and typically maintains her composure.
* SharpDressedMan: When appearing in the Werk Room, she usually sports a beautifully tailored suit, and is a TallDarkAndHandsome man out of drag.
* SwappedRoles: Sportingly (and with arguably the most to lose reputationally) Pangina opened herself up for judgement by participating on equal footing with a group of international queens on the first series of ''UK Versus The World''.

----

* AloofBigBrother: Brooke's judging style is cool, calm and collected, refusing to succumb to high drama or outbursts of emotion (unless ''really'' pushed) and maintaining an elegant poise (and a certain formality) at all times.
* RankUp: From runner-up in the original U.S. series to co-host in her native Canada.
* TheRunnerUpTakesItAll: Lost the Season 11 crown to Yvie Oddly, but eventually became the first ''[=RuPaul=]'s Drag Race'' alumna to host an official iteration of the franchise.

->"Dag schaaaaat!"
----

* BrutalHonesty: Due to the Netherlands' own cultural predisposition for directness, ''Drag Race Holland'' is easily the bluntest iteration of the series when it comes to critiquing -- some of which occurs whilst the queens are actually walking the runway, as opposed to when judging officially begins -- and Fred is the bluntest of the lot.
* {{Catchphrase}}: A few:
** "Stilte!!!" (Silence!) -- his own version of Ru's hushing technique when she's heard enough, though Fred positively ''screams'' when delivering the line.
** "Dag schat" (bye, dear) -- delivered very nasally, and typically used to dismiss the queens from the stage.
* SplitPersonality: Whereas both Ru and Supremme act pretty much the same in the Werk Room out of drag as they do when glammed up whilst judging, Fred (a congenial, jolly guy) adopts an imposing, commanding attitude when in drag.
* NoIndoorVoice: Speaks with a booming tone -- when happy, or when irritated.
* SternTeacher: In the Werk Room, he's a giggly, laugh a minute, but when in his drag character, he's easily the most blunt, commanding judge across the franchise -- even Ru herself isn't as bombastic as Fred.

* CoolTeacher: Supremme, both in drag and out, is easily the warmest of all judges across the ''Drag Race'' franchise, and treats her queens with an almost maternal level of care -- especially when compared to the generally aloof, stately [=RuPaul=] and the downright stern Fred van Leer.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: Took her drag name from the motown super-group, Music/TheSupremes.
* ParentalSubstitute: She thoroughly takes her girls under her wings whilst they compete, and is a kind, maternal mentor.
