The hero. Haru Glory came from a small island that's referred to as incredibly far out in the sticks and lacks knowledge of most any world history or geographical features. He's incredibly strong willed and noted for having a good heart. He was chosen to be the Rave Master who was to eliminate the Dark Bring.

-->Voiced by: Creator/TomokazuSeki (JP), Creator/YuriLowenthal (EN), Creator/VictorUgarte (LA SP)
-----
* AccidentalPervert: He ends up in unintentionally perverted situations with Elie several times. He has accidentally looked up her skirt while he's crawling under a table (this was their first meeting), groped her and seen her naked ''twice''.
* AllLovingHero: He's merciful, compassionate and very naive.
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: Haru fights a youth-restored Shiba and is getting his ass handed to him. Haru tries to motivate himself by thinking about how the world will be doomed if he loses, but it doesn't work. Then he thinks about how if he loses, Elie will cry, then defeats his opponent in a single blow.
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:In the finale, the Star Memory revives Haru one year after his HeroicSacrifice.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: As the Oracion Seis found out.
* BigBrotherInstinct: {{Inverted}} since he's the younger brother. Branch suffers ''a lot'' for harming Haru's sister.
* BoisterousBruiser: Despite being a TechnicalPacifist he often yells a lot in battle.
* BullyHunter: Started when he punished Branch for abusing Cattleya.
* CallingYourAttacks: He always blurts out any change to his sword.
* CannotSpitItOut: He doesn't get to confess to Elie for ''thirty four'' volumes (she isn't in the first). [[spoiler: When he does confess, it's a DyingDeclarationOfLove]].
* TheChampion: During his duel with a youth-restored Shiba, Haru is forced to find his reason to fight and save the world. Thinking about his friends and family can't give him enough strength. His sword obtains overwhelming power only when he thinks about Elie and how much he wants to protect her from anything that makes her cry. It's then that Haru knows for sure Elie is the one he fights for.
* TheChosenOne: He was chosen to be the Rave Master who will save the world.
* CoveredInScars: After his fight with Doryu, some of the scars from the battle remain on his body for the rest of the series.
* CovertPervert: He supports the idea of Elie wearing a very revealing dancing outfit.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Downplayed, but he has admitted that one of the reasons he hates Lucia is because he kissed Elie right in front of him.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: A large chunk of the manga's humor comes from stupid things that leave his mouth, but he's still the strongest character among the Rave Warriors.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: He has grey eyes and grey hair.
* DeclarationOfProtection: He declares that protecting Elie is his main motivation.
* {{Determinator}}: It doesn't matter how much he gets beat up or how outclassed he is, he never quits.
* DubNameChange: Not Haru himself, but rather the Ten Commandments, which becomes the Ten Powers.
* DyingDeclarationOfLove: [[spoiler:He confesses his love to Elie right before she destroys the Endless with him inside. He comes BackFromTheDead one year later]].
* ElementalRivalry: As revealed by Ruby in the Doryu Arc, Haru is elementally aligned with Light, which makes him a nemesis of the Darkness-aligned Doryu and Lucia.
* EyeScream: PlayedForLaughs. Whenever Haru does accidental pervert things, Elie will sometimes stick her Tonfas in his eyes.
* TheFettered: He has set morals that prevent him from going extreme against evil. To cite one specific example, he's very much opposed to needless killing.
* TheHero: He is the central good guy working against Demon Card's evil activities.
* HeroicSacrifice: In the final battle, [[spoiler:Haru gets stuck inside Endless and asks Elie to destroy it with him inside. He gets better]].
* HiddenDepths: Has proven smarter than he looks when facing a villain's MotiveRant. In the face of Let's BloodKnight desires and talk of honor, he criticizes how meaningless honor is when fighting evil. When he hears Lucia's reasons for hating the world, he rightly points out that the world doesn't exist just for him and his suffering doesn't mean others don't have the right to live.
* HotBlooded: He tends to [[LeeroyJenkins run quickly into a fight]]. [[LikeFatherLikeSon Runs in the family]].
* HowDoIShotWeb: He doesn't know how to use the Ten Commandments at first but he learns fast. One of the usual justifications for him learning the Ten Commandments' other forms is that the Rave of knowledge grants him innate wisdom just at the exact moment it's needed.
* IdealHero: Caring, compassionate, idealistic and always ready to fight for what's right.
* IdiotHero: It's not too extreme, but he has some pretty dumb moments.
* InstantExpert: Justified by the Rave of Wisdom.
* JusticeWillPrevail: He often preaches about peace and harmony for all.
* LeeroyJenkins: LikeFatherLikeSon, as both he and his dad often rush into things blindly.
* LegacyCharacter: The second one to inherit the title of Rave Master in the story.
* LightIsGood; He is elementally aliened with Light, and his MorphWeapon has a form, "Million Suns".
%%* MadeOfIron
* MagneticHero: Almost no story arc passes without him acquiring one new team member, starting with Plue, then Griff, Elie, Musica, Shuda, Ruby, Sieg Hart, Evermary, Lazenby, and eventually [[spoiler:Julius]] right before the final battle.
%%* ManlyTears: Often.
* MorphWeapon: The Ten Commandments, a sword with ten different forms.
* MrFanservice: He's often shirtless or exposing his chest.
* MultiformBalance: Haru's sword counts as this as each one give him a different set of abilities
** Eisenmeteor is the default form as it has not special abilities, but [[RockBeatsLaser it can easily overcome anything magical]].
** Explosion is a GlassCannon as it can unleash explosions, but can quickly use up stamina.
** Silfarion is a FragileSpeedster as it makes Haru light.
** Rune Save is AntiMagic as it can seal magic and be able to damage anything intangible, but it can't cut anything physical.
** Blue Crimson is a dual ElementalPowers sword as it uses [[PlayingWithFire Fire]] and [[AnIcePerson Ice]].
** Melforce is a LightningBruiser as he is able to easily blow anything away or paralyze them.
** Gravity Core is MightyGlacier as it can break any heavy objects, but requires great strength to wield.
** Million Suns is LightEmUp as it is able to destroy darkness.
** Sacrifar is a TheBerserker DeadlyUpgrade as it gives Haru immense power, but at the cost of him being filled with anger.
** Ravelt is a SuperMode as it give Haru the full power of Rave.
* MySisterIsOffLimits: He's ''very'' pissed when he hears Shuda is now his "brother-in-law". Especially because he saw [[DidTheyOrDidntThey Cattleya in her underwear in Shuda's memories]].
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: He explicitly has the power to learn a new form for his sword whenever he's in a sticky spot. It comes from the Rave of knowledge.
* NiceGuy: In typical StockShonenHero fashion, he's a bit simple-minded but makes up for this with his kind, compassionate nature.
%%* NormallyIWouldBeDeadNow: Lampshaded a little.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:Haru marries Elie at the end of the manga.]]
* OneManArmy: A stand-alone example would be when he takes on 10,000 demons all by himself.
* PowersViaWeapon: He wields the Ten Commandments, a magical sword that has ten different forms which each give him a power, such as supersonic speed, increased power via anger, and holy light.
* RefusalOfTheCall: Because his sister forbade it.
* RoyalBlood: [[spoiler:His grandfather was the last king of Symphonia]].
* SecondLove: To Elie. [[spoiler:Her first love was Shiba]].
* SheIsNotMyGirlfriend: He tries denying there's anything more than friendship between him and Elie. He's not fooling anyone there.
* ShonenHair: He has spiky, messy hair, as befits a traditional Shonen protagonist.
* StarCrossedLovers: [[spoiler:Subverted at the end of the story. Haru is trapped inside the Endless and Elie is the only one who can destroy the monster before it destroys the world. Haru asks Elie to destroy the Endless alongside him and the two declare their love for each other as Elie tearfully complies his request. After the battle is over, Elie loses her memories again, possibly due to wanting to forget the pain of losing Haru. Fortunately, Haru is revived by the Star Memory and reunites with Elie, who recovers her memories when she sees Haru again.]]
* StockShonenHero: Haru is energetic, naive and simpleminded sometimes to the point of stupidity, but still a determined, kind and compassionate guy with a strong sense of justice. He gathers many friends and allies throughout the story, some of which started as his enemies. He's very strong, but his true power comes from his desire to protect his friends and Elie.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Looks nearly identical to his dad.
* TakeAThirdOption: Stab Elie or let the power of Etherion inside her destroy the world? Use Rune Save to seal Etherion.
* TechnicalPacifist: He won't kill his enemies if he can avoid it, but will fight whenever he needs to.
* TemporalThemeNaming: Hiro Mashima's lead always has a season based name. His means "spring."
* ThouShaltNotKill: He refuses to kill people if given the choice.
* TookALevelInBadass: Although it cannot be denied that Haru was already a badass in the series' beginning, it's when he believes that his dad is the one who leads Demon Card that he takes a whole new level of badass since he beats King's entire army ''single-handedly''.
* UnresolvedSexualTension: Haru has strong feelings for Elie in the same way she has for him, not that any of them ever goes around to actually be open about they feel for each other.
* UnstoppableRage:
** When he uses Sacrifar and when Lucia [[spoiler: ''almost'' kills Shuda]].
** [[spoiler: How can one forget how he went apeshit on the Oracion Seis after they [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat his friends so gruesomely]]?]]
* WideEyedIdealist: Believes in the inner good of everyone, even when they don't listen to reason.

[[folder:Plue]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/RM_Plue_239.jpg]]

Rave's bearer. Plue is a dog(?) with an unknown gender and age who travels with either the wielder of Etherion or the Rave (or both) and helps guide them. He doesn't do much as far as guiding them, but he does occasionally help either Haru or Elie when they're in a tight spot. He came dangerously close to being renamed Shabutaro by Haru and Cattleya.

-->Voiced by: Yukiji (JP), Creator/MonaMarshall (EN), Fabián Mejía (LA SP)
-----
%%* AttentionDeficitOohShiny
%%* BalloonBelly
* CallASmeerpARabbit: Or a fish, a dog, a bug, a cat, an alien, a dinosaur, a water demon, and a snowman.
* CartoonCreature: No one, not even the writer, is sure what he is. All we know is that he looks like a snowman but has paw pads like a dog or cat and that, in ''Fairy Tail'' lore, he's a celestial spirit.
* ExtremeOmnivore: He's known to have eaten suckers, beetles, and a porcelain doll.
* MistakenForBadass: By the islanders in the backstory of how Plue met Griffon. He is mistakenly thought to have held back an entire battleship with brute strength.
* NonHumanSidekick: He's a dog-creature that serves as Haru's main companion.
* PokemonSpeak: He can only say his own name.
* SuperDrowningSkills: For all his skills, he cannot swim-
* SweetTooth: Loves his sweets. [[NoodleIncident But not pudding]].
* TooDumbToLive: He frequently goes into water knowing he'll drown.

[[folder:Elie]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/RM_Elie_7489.jpg]]

The main female. Elie is a cheerful amnesiac girl who's just a little off and ''really'' likes bugs. She and Haru met in a racing track (a casino, in the anime) where she quickly fell for him because of his kind heart. She follows him around and is revealed to possess the ultimate magic, known as Etherion. She also bears a strong resemblance to Resha Valentine, who passed away fifty years ago, to everyone's continuous confusion.

-->Voiced by: Creator/AyakoKawasumi (JP), Creator/MichelleRuff (EN), Ana Lucía Ramos (LA SP)
-----
* ActionGirl: She started actively fighting on her own the first time the team fought the Oracion Six, and [[CharacterDevelopment as time goes on,]] she's ultimately strong enough to blow holes in [[CosmicHorror Cosmic Horrors]].
* AgonyOfTheFeet: Suffers this when she runs out into the badlands with no shoes on to go find a plant that could possibly cure a deflated Plue and doesn't realize she went barefoot until after smacking her foot on a rock and discovering and rubbing a ton of scrapes on her soles. When he finds her, Haru tears a sleeve and bandages her feet, then carries her piggyback. In the manga, she had on sandals that she took off in exhaustion from numerous failed attempts to re-inflate Plue, while in the anime, she was just too neglectful and hasty to put her boots on after leaving the hot spring and stayed barefoot.
* AmnesiacHero: Elie doesn't have memories of her past nor her identity. She's travelling to find clues of who she is. It's not a big surprise that she turns out to have a big connection to the Rave stones [[spoiler:because she created them]].
* AmnesiaDanger: Had she retained her memories she could have wiped every villain from existence rather than being kidnapped by each and every one (save King).
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: [[spoiler:She tells Haru she loves him right before she's forced to blow him up along with the Endless]].
* ApocalypseMaiden: Sieg Hart initially tries to kill Elie because he deems the power of Etherion inside her body to be a threat to the world. This is later subverted; [[spoiler:Elie's Etherion is the only thing that can destroy the Endless and save the world from it]].
* BabiesEverAfter: [[spoiler:The very last scene of the manga is Haru and Elie getting married. This is followed up by us seeing their son, Levin in a short and humorous epilogue with Nakajima involved and the older couple comes back with a present for him to find he's been fully converted into Nakajima's disciple.]]
* BlessedWithSuck: Etherion, until she regains control of it.
* BornLucky: She's usually in charge of winning money for the group through gambling because she has such good luck that the best way to gain money fast is to set her loose in a casino.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Doesn't like seeing Haru with other girls.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: It's hard to understand her strange ideas and behaviors. For example, when Plue deflated, what was the solution she came up with? Let's bury him, that'll help. He needs dirt.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: A brown-haired girl with brown eyes.
* TheCutie: She's the cute and bubbly girl of the main team.
* DamselInDistress: At least once per ArcVillain except King, she will be captured as part of the plot. By the fifth time around, she's [[DamselOutOfDistress gotten better at handling it.]]
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Although her forgotten memories make up a huge bulk of the story's past, it's ultimately Haru who keeps the story going in the present.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: In response to Lucia's AndNowYouMustMarryMe in the finale, [[spoiler: and her powers are sealed by an AntiMagic bracelet, she tries shooting him the face. Even though she sees she can't hurt him, she still defies him and spits in his face, knowing fully well how easily he could kill her.]]
* DudeMagnet: Haru, [[spoiler:Shiba back when she was Resha]] and many other males are instantly drawn to her. Unfortunately, it also gets negative attention. To clarify, Lucia [[spoiler: when he becomes the ruler of the original world]] wants her to be his bride and Ogre wants her to be his plaything.
* FearOfThunder: Elie has a paralyzing fear of storms. It's Sieg's fault; the first thing Elie remembers after getting amnesia is Sieg almost killing her by electrocution.
* FirstGirlWins: Elie is the first to become Haru's travelling companion. She's Haru's indisputable main love interest throughout the entire series and [[spoiler:she gets married and has a son with him at the end]].
* ForgottenFirstMeeting: She had one of sorts with Haru. [[spoiler:Haru met her as Resha back in Symphonia when he traveled back in time.]]
* GenkiGirl: She's continually cheerful and optimistic.
* GhostMemory: Assumed by everyone after Elie reveals she has a connection to Resha Valentine's memories, but [[spoiler:they are actually her own memories]].
* GivenNameReveal: "Elie" is a nickname she gave to herself because she doesn't remember her real name. Her true name is finally revealed towards the end of the story; [[spoiler:Resha Valentine]].
%%* GroinAttack: On Julius.
* GunsAkimbo: Her fighting style consists of firing bullets from the pair of tonfa-blasters she wields on each arm.
* GunsAreUseless: She has two tonfas with built in guns. At best they cause AmusingInjuries.
* HumanPopsicle: [[spoiler:Shortly after she abandoned her identity as Resha Valentine and lost her memory, Elie used a spell to freeze her body for 50 years.]]
* IdentityAmnesia: Elie doesn't have any memories of her past and true identity. [[spoiler:She is actually Resha Valentine, who lost her memories from the effects of overusing Etherion.]]
* KillTheOnesYouLove: [[spoiler:In the final battle, she's forced to destroy the Endless with Haru inside. Fortunately, Haru is revived by the Star Memory.]]
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Having no idea who she is or how to use her magic doesn't stop her from reading a dead language.
* LineOfSightName: When she woke up at the destroyed Etherion Research Center, she didn't even remember her own name. She saw the ELIE tattoo in her arm and then decided to call herself Elie.
* MacGuffinSuperPerson: Many villains seek her for her power. For example, Doryu wants her for her Etherion power and Hardner [[spoiler:wants [[FusionDance wants to merge with her in order to merge with the Endless]]]].
* MagicStaff: Gets one in the Blue Guardians arc, to which she uses it to harness her true power.
* MeaningfulName: Elie's name is initially thought to be a test subject mark, [[spoiler: but is actually the coordinates for her empty grave]].
* MsFanservice: As if her short skirt, long legs, and tank top revealing her full arms and most of her stomach that she wears as her casual outfit weren't enough, Elie also has by far the biggest breasts out of the female cast which her outfit gladly shows off. Episode 19 has her flat out dressing in a bikini and later on dressing up as a belly dancer [[spoiler:which she did when she was Resha]]. Slightly lessened once Belinka, Celia and Julia came along and took some of the load off her, though it didn't stop Elie from the being the go-to fanservice girl of the franchise. Elie even gets a major FanservicePack upgrade in the one-shot OVA crossover with ''Anime/FairyTail'' with her breasts even ''bigger'' and on full display.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:When she remembers she's Resha, Elie nearly breaks down from guilt at seeing all of the Symphonia kingdom from the past grieving over Resha's "death".]]
* NameAmnesia: She doesn't remember her true name, only calling herself "Elie" because of the tattoo in her arm. [[spoiler:She eventually remembers her real name is Resha Valentine.]]
* NeverGotToSayGoodbye: [[spoiler:Elie arrives at the end of Haru's duel with Shiba and Shiba uses his last bit of strength to hug Elie, having realized Elie is Resha. Elie doesn't remember her true identity until after she travels to the past. The overwhelming regret over never apologizing to Shiba for making him think she died nearly drives Elie to reveal herself to the Shiba from the past, but Haru stops her so history doesn't change.]]
* NiceGirl: While a little immature, she's nothing but a sweet, kindhearted and positive individual who, not surprisingly, falls for the hero thanks to his kindness.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:Elie and Haru get married at the end of the manga.]]
* OlderThanSheLooks: [[spoiler:Elie is actually 66 years old, but still looks like a 16-year-old because she spent 50 years frozen in ice.]]
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: She doesn't remember her true name; Elie is the name she chose to call herself based on the tattoo located on her upper arm. [[spoiler:Near the end of the series, her true name is revealed (or confirmed) to be Resha Valentine, but since she abandoned her old identity 50 years ago, she wants her friends to continue calling her Elie even after remembering her entire past.]]
* PluckyGirl: Elie's best feature is her spunkiness.
* PowerIncontinence: [[spoiler:Elie, as Resha, did not learn to use Etherion willingly. Etherion was infused in her as part of an experiment to make her an all-powerful force that could oppose the Dark Bring, but gave her so much power that she couldn't properly control it. Etherion surged wildly and went into a catastrophic meltdown that ultimately catapulted her 50 years forward in time and erased her memories. When others find out she has this magic inside her, Elie continues to be unable to control it, and when it gets used in full once more, it threatens to surge again.]]
* ProneToTears: She's a heck of a lot more prone to tears after [[spoiler:getting back her memory]].
* {{Protectorate}}: The person Haru wants to protect the most is Elie.
* QuestForIdentity: At first, she travels in order to find her memory. However, later she begins to fear recovering her memory, knowing she might become a different person.
* SacredFirstKiss: Lucia stole her first kiss, leaving her in tears.
* {{Shorttank}}: A perfect example. Elie is the feisty female lead in a {{Shonen}} series, wears a tanktop and a miniskirt, and can fire rounds of bullets with her tonfa blasters.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She quickly fell for Haru because of his kind heart.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Unlike Julia joins much later, Elie is the only girl in Haru's team.
* StoryBreakerPower: Etherion is the ultimate magic. If she knew how to use it from the start, there would be no point in having other Rave Warriors.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: According to a childhood memory of her parents, Elie takes after her mother [[spoiler:especially when Elie had longer hair as Resha]].
* TheThreeFacesOfEve: The bubbly, simple-minded Child of the female Rave Warriors.
* TomatoInTheMirror: Elie's uncanny resemblance to the deceased creator of the Rave stones, Resha Valentine, is one of the biggest mysteries in the series. [[spoiler:Near the end of the series, she finally remembers that she ''is'' Resha Valentine.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: During the second half of the series, she becomes a far more powerful fighter than she was throughout the first.
* TownGirls: The Neither. Elie is girlier than [[TheLadette Julia]] yet somewhat of a tomboy when compared to [[ShrinkingViolet Belnika]].
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: In the epilogue of the manga, [[spoiler:Elie once again lost her memory due to the trauma of being forced to kill the man she loves to save the world. Her memory immediately returns when Haru is brought back safely by the Star Memory.]]
* TriggerHappy: [[CharacterizationMarchesOn At least in the beginning,]] she usually takes out her tonfas when she gets angry.
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: [[spoiler:In the final volumes, Elie and Resha Valentine are revealed to be one and the same.]]
* UnresolvedSexualTension: Elie and Haru spend the entire manga completely unable of coming around and being open about their obvious attraction to each other.
* YouAreNumberSix: Sieg claims she is an experiment created to bring back Resha's Etherion and the tattoo in her arm doesn't mean Elie, but Test Subject 3173. [[spoiler:However, turns out Sieg was wrong; ELIE 3173 are really the coordinates to Resha Valentine's empty grave.]]
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: [[spoiler:Her home country Symphonia no longer exists]].

A strange blue creature originally recruited by Elie to help her and Haru reach the mountain they suspect a Rave stone to be at. He quickly becomes a member of the main cast, and is supposed to be very skilled at map making. His hobby is peeping on Elie. [[TheScrappy Every other character is better than him]].

-----
* TheLoad: Invaluable as he is as a cartographer and navigator, he is completely useless in a fight.
%%* LovableSexManiac: Or the not so lovable one.
* NonHumanSidekick: Though, like Plue, we never learn what kind of creature he is.
* NormallyIWouldBeDeadNow: Being sliced in two does normally kill one. What kind of bizarre natural selection gives someone the ability to become two people after being sliced in two? What kind of bizarre natural selection makes ''anything'' like Griff, for that matter.
* ThePeepingTom: Downplayed in the dub, where he's more obsessed with Master Plue, than peeping on Elie.

* BattleCouple: He and Reina defeat Ogre together.
* TheBlacksmith: [[spoiler:He forges for Haru the final form of his Ten Commandments.]]
* ChickMagnet: His ex-girlfriend Melodia, Remi, Reina, Nagisa...
%%* ChivalrousPervert
* DatingCatwoman: Musica develops a mutual attraction with Reina, a member of Oracion Seis, while fighting each other on opposite sides. However, by the time she does consider changing sides [[spoiler:she has to sacrifice herself in order to stop the Silver Ray from causing a potentially catastrophic explosion]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Very often when talking to Haru.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: [[spoiler:Reina is the only woman who ever was a serious romantic option for him, but she sacrifices her life just when a romance was starting to blossom between them.]]
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: He changes his hairstyle for a spiky one during the Shuda mini-arc, after which he permanently joins the Rave Warriors.
* ExtraOreDinary: He can change the shape of silver (and later, any metal) at will.
* HeartbrokenBadass: [[spoiler:Reina dies right after she shared her one and only kiss with Musica. With her sacrifice, however, Musica gets a new spear made from his silver and Reina's, and he continues to fight alongside the Rave Warriors while carrying Reina's memory.]]
* ICallItVera: [[spoiler:After Reina dies, some of her silver merges with his, and he occasionally refers to his spear by her name]].
* ImpossibleTheft: He somehow steals Nagisa's panties while she's still wearing them and she doesn't even notice it for a while.
* LastNameBasis: Only his grandfather calls him Hamrio.
* LikesOlderWomen: He develops romantic feelings for Reina, who is five years older than him.
* MorphWeapon: The silver he carries with him.
* TheMourningAfter: [[spoiler:After Reina dies, he has no serious romantic relationship with anyone else for the rest of the story]].
* PantyThief: He steals Nagisa's panties when they first meet. He also steals her bra a couple of times.

Originally he was only interested in a challenging fight, and working for King as part of his QuirkyMiniBossSquad in order to find them. Let goes over to Haru's side after being awed by Haru's pure heart and desire to protect the whole world.

-->Voiced by: Takehiro Murozono (JP), Doug Stone (EN), Ricardo Bautista (LA SP)
-----
* AdaptationDyeJob: In the manga and ''Manga/FairyTail'' crossover his hair is white. In the anime, it's blond.
* AnimeHair: [[Anime/DragonBallZ Super Saiyan 3]] style no less, until he became human. Even after he became human, his hair still looks like a Super Saiyan's one.
* BattleCouple: Once he reverts his girlfriend Julia back to her human form, she's revealed to be as much of a badass as Let and they often fight together.
* BishonenLine: A heroic example, undergoing a ritual to banish his reptilian nature to achieve greater strength. [[spoiler: This is later inverted in the finale as he becomes more draconic till he becomes a full dragon to defeat his enemy]].
* BloodKnight: Initially as a member of King's QuirkyMiniBossSquad. Downplayed when he became a TechnicalPacifist like the rest of the group, but still has shades of it.
* BreathWeapon: He can breathe fire.
* ChastityCouple: Let and Julia look and act like they're VitriolicBestBuds most of the time (or Julia acts this way, and Let acts like the team grandpa). While a relationship is there if you know to look for it, you only know to look because each has a single occasion where they openly say there's something between them.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: He was friends with his girlfriend Julia since childhood.
* TheComicallySerious: Let is TheStoic and suffers from HonorBeforeReason at times. So of course his girlfriend is a hard drinking party girl.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Julia knows that Let can get violently jealous and usually warns any man who makes a pass at her, although it's more of an InformedAttribute.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Several suicide attacks. He manages to use three. In a story with lots of death, he's good at slipping around it.
* DraconicHumanoid: At least initially. All members of the Dragon Race go through a phase where they spend some time in this state, before either conquering or succumbing to their inner dragon. Let conquers his and becomes more human-like in appearance afterward. His former flame, Julia, succumbed, and ended up a full-fledged dragon. At least until he cures her.
* ElementalBaggage: Fire-breathing.
* HeelFaceTurn: Introduced as part of King's QuirkyMiniBossSquad.
* InsistentTerminology: He's ''dragon race'', not an alligator, and definitely not a human.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Even working for King, he refuses to use a Dark Bring and prefers hand-to-hand combat, though he's not above breathing fire on occasion.
* LimitedWardrobe: Most of the cast is better about it.
* MeaningfulName: His name is based off of Ma'''let''', which Hiro Mashima chose to describe his fighting style.
* NobleDemon: In the beginning, he claims he's only traveling with Haru and co so he can study their weaknesses for the next time they fight. He grows out of this pretty quick though.
* OneWingedAngel: A heroic one in which he crosses the BishonenLine into the form he remains in the rest of the series. [[spoiler: [[http://www.mangahere.com/manga/rave_master/v34/c281/13.html He temporarily becomes a huge dragon in the finale]].]]
* OppositesAttract: Let is calm, collected and cool-headed, while his girlfriend Julia is loud, brash, and hot-headed.
* PunchClockVillain: He's not nearly as kill happy as most of the Demon Card, only interested in fights prior his HeelFaceTurn.
* RedemptionPromotion: While he was by no means weak in his debut, after his HeelFaceTurn, he manages to win a fight against Jegan, whom was stronger than him for most of his life [[note]]Jegan also had a powerful Dark Bring as one of the Oracion Seis[[/note]] and would have won his fight with Hardner if not for Hardner's HealingFactor [[spoiler: and he still managed to deal enough damage to help Haru win.]]
* RedOniBlueOni:
** Two ways, the more pragmatic and level headed to Haru's brash impulsiveness and Musica's more frivolous behavior.
** Even to his own girlfriend, who's more hot-tempered than he is.
* ScarsAreForever: From Jegan's attack, he initially had it covered under a headband prior his crossing the BishonenLine.
* SssnakeTalk: In the dub, initially prior his BishonenLine, when he talks normally.
* TheStoic: Early on, he shows little to no emotion. He becomes NotSoStoic after becoming human.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Jegan. However, Jegan denies that they were friends in the first place.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Manga only. Before his HeelFaceTurn. [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/27477_100001031701580_4008_n_4485.jpg Originally he was this.]]

A penguin-like creature who inherited a large sum of money and giant floating casino from his late father. He's dismayed to learn he's been funding a criminal origination and ends up going to Haru for protection when he refuses to continue giving Doryu money. He becomes their first ''safe'' magic user after Sieg reveals he has the gift, but he's generally considered useless by the cast.

-----
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: He's pink.
* AttackReflector: Can also use this type of spell in combat.
* BadLiar: The heroic version of BondVillainStupidity.
* CannotKeepASecret: See BadLiar above, with the exception of one, important secret: [[spoiler: the fact that Haru choose him as the third Rave Master should he perish]].
* CollectorOfTheStrange: A trait which was used by Doryu's gang to milk him for cash. He does have standards, though, as he refuses to accept stolen items and when he receives an endangered but gorgeous bird he decides to set him free.
* TheDitz: He's comically inguenue, has little common sense and doesn't seem really smart. Yet somehow he masters magic.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: He becomes ecstatic when Sieg Hart tells him he has the potential to be a mage. He doesn't disappoint.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: A bell [[spoiler:that can turn into a sword. It originally belonged to Dalmatian, one of the Four Knights of the Blue Sky]].
* TheMillstone: At times due to his inability to lie and his annoying tendency to blurt out whatever he's thinking, alerting the bad guys.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When he realizes that the people he thought were his best friends, like Doryu, were criminals who were using him to fund their operations.
* NonHumanSidekick: He doesn't look like a penguin, like a pig-bird at least.
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: He's not good at keeping track of his money.
* SecretKeeper: Haru trusts him enough to [[spoiler: tell him who the next Rave Master will be after Haru dies]]. Amazingly, he keeps ''this'' secret.
* TalkingAnimal: A penguin?
* TookALevelInBadass: Once he learns magic.
* VerbalTic: "Poyo!" And it's contagious. When the gang first encounters it several try to imitate it. At one point, even TheComicallySerious Sieg uses it.
* WideEyedIdealist: He still insist in seeing something good in Doryuu even after learning his backstory.

Let's polar-opposite girlfriend. She spent a good deal of time stuck as a dragon under Jegan's control, but once she changes back she joins Haru's team. She's the most violent member of the team, especially when it comes to her boyfriend, but she also takes on a somewhat motherly role. She also really wants Haru and Elie to hook up.

-->Voiced by: Kyoko Namekawa (JP - Fairy Tail x RAVE OVA)
-----
* ActionGirl: She beats the crap out of people a lot more than her boyfriend. And especially her boyfriend.
* BattleCouple: With Let. They're romantically involved and they also fight together once they're reunited.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler: She spends a long time as a dragon under Jegan's control.]]
* BreathWeapon: Like Let, she can breathe Fire. Most notably, it's the only Dragon Race technique she ever uses.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: For a long while, she was portrayed as the GirlNextDoor to Let. Cue to the Blue Guardians Arc, where this is changed to more of an ActionGirl with a drinking problem and [[ShamelessFanserviceGirl no problem with her nudity]]. Let [[NeverSpeakIllOfTheDead most likely heavily idealized]] her and her memory. It also helps that we only get brief glimpses of his memories of her.
* ChastityCouple: Let and Julia look and act like they're VitriolicBestBuds most of the time (or Julia acts this way, and Let acts like the team grandpa). While a relationship is there if you know to look for it, you only know to look because each has a single occasion where they openly say there's something between them.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: She and Let have been close since they were kids and became a couple when they got older.
* CoolBigSis: She's the headstrong, but caring older sister figure of the Rave Master team.
* DeathFakedForYou: Let believed Julia was killed by Jegan, but the truth is Jegan only made someone else's corpse look like Julia so Let would give up on her and Jegan could have Julia to himself. It's when Let meets Jegan again that he finds out Julia is still alive, but trapped in the form of a dragon.
* ForcedTransformation: Her race go through a phase where they become {{Draconic Humanoid}}s and must go to a temple to perform a ritual and return to human form. Julia performed the ritual outside a temple and got trapped in the form of a giant dragon.
* FullFrontalAssault: When Julia faces off with an especially perverted member of the Six Guard who tries to submit her to DefeatByModesty by using his powers to blow apart her clothing, Julia ''rips off the remains of her own bra'' to prove the point that modesty will not defeat her. She then proceeds to kick his ass with no regard to her nudity.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: She once gets drunk enough to use a wine bottle like a walkie-talkie.
* IntimateHealing: [[spoiler:After Let defeats Jegan and Julia returns to her human form with a elixir, Julia saves Let by sharing the elixir with him through a kiss.]]
* KissOfDeath: How she finishes off [[spoiler:Jiero]], with a fire breath right down her throat.
* TheLadette: Noisy, brash, aggressive, and a bigger drinker than any of the guys in the main team.
* MsFanservice: She's very attractive and also a ShamelessFanserviceGirl who ends up in skimpy bikinis more than once.
* OppositesAttract: Julia is loud, brash, and hot-headed, while her boyfriend Let is calm, collected and cool-headed.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Her dragon form is that of a massive, dark-colored dragon with six wings, horns and fins on the sides of her head. She's also mindless and under the control of Jegan, at the time.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Julia doesn't give a damn about others seeing her naked.
* ShipperOnDeck: As stated above, for Haru and Elie.
* TakingYouWithMe: Attempted during one fight against an opponent who could turn himself into acid. When her regular attacks don't work, she resorts to throw herself and him out of the airship they were fighting on and tricks him into liquefying that he evaporates into nothing while she fully intended to fall to her death. Luckily a nearby dragon happened to show up and save her.
* TheThreeFacesOfEve: The fiery and [[ShamelessFanserviceGirl shameless]] Seductress of the female Rave Warriors.
* TownGirls: The Butch. To contrast [[ShrinkingViolet Belnika]] and [[PluckyGirl Elie]], Julia is definitely more action-prone, rough and violent.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Her style is more akin to grappling rather then martial arts that her boyfriend uses.

-----
* EleventhHourRanger: She joins the Rave Warriors in the last parts of the manga.
* AntiMagic: [[spoiler:Her real ability, aside from the Etherion-like ones she first displayed]].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She goes ''ballistic'' on [[spoiler: Jiero, one of the Four Demon Kings.]]
* CelibateHeroine: She always spurns Musica's advances, which kind of creep her out. She does take a liking to Haru, though.
* CovertPervert: Despite having many ProperLady traits and being a bit shy in general, she certainly isn't above staring intently at Haru's crotch when he gets naked the evening before the final battle.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blue hair to match her blue eyes.
* EatingTheEyeCandy: When a drunk Haru strips down in front of everyone, Belnika can't keep her eyes off of his exposed crotch.
* TheMedic: She's also good with healing magic. In her first encounter with Haru she provides him a cloth band that placates the wounds he got from Doryuu.
* ShyBlueHairedGirl: At first she is shy but becomes assertive later on.
* SilkHidingSteel: A NiceGirl but don't forget her magic.
* PowerAtAPrice: Her magic was obtained through rigorous training that they heavily imply was incredibly painful, but her magic is pretty sweet.
* TheThreeFacesOfEve: The demure and well-mannered Wife of the female Rave Warriors.
* TownGirls: The Femme. Belnika is much more traditionally feminine and ladylike than [[PluckyGirl Elie]] and [[TheLadette Julia]] could ever be.

* AnimeHair: He's the [[Franchise/DragonBall Vegeta]] of this universe.
* ArtificialLimbs: After he removes the real one.
* BigOlEyebrows: Sports pretty large, saw-like eyebrows, as commented once by Musica.
* BroughtDownToBadass: His second Dark Bring is destroyed when he tries to use it against Lucia, but he doesn't let it slow him down.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He was ''not'' happy to meet Cattleya's ex.

* CurbStompBattle: Dishes out one to Haru in their first fight until Haru breaks his Dark Bring and leaves.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Though it's implied he changed sides more because he was already close to Haru's dad and sister.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Appears to be one but then becomes TheDragon.
* DiscardAndDraw: Gave his old Dark Bring to one of his underlings at the start of the series because he was receiving a better one. After it was broken by Haru, he replaced it with another new one by the time they fought again.
* FieryRedhead: A hot blooded redhead with appropriate fire-based powers.
* ExtraOreDinary: His very first Dark Bring, which he gave to Favel, allowed him to turn his body into shiny metal.
* FourStarBadass: He is a general in the Demon Card.
* IGaveMyWord: He sticks by Haru because Gale tearfully made him swear he would protect his son.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Though not in the sense of projectile aiming, his Dark Bring does require this kind of ability.
* LifeOrLimbDecision: It isn't really that situation, and he opts for neither, but it reminds you of one.
* NoOneShouldSurviveThat: We still don't know how he survived a 1000+ foot fall after lopping of an arm. Leads too...
* NormallyIWouldBeDeadNow: The most we get of anyone mentioning this is scolding Sieg for sounding disappointed when saying he thought Shuda died.
* OffscreenRomance: After the death of Haru's father Gale, Shuda travels to Garage Island to deliver the news to Haru's sister Cattleya. The next time we see him, Shuda shows Haru's group fragments of his memories with Cattleya which end with Cattleya in her underwear and Shuda telling Haru they're brothers-in-law now.
* PlayingWithFire: His Dark Brings' power. The first created flames, the second created explosions.
* RealMenWearPink: And are the king of ballet.
* SeriousBusiness: For him, dancing contests. To an almost ridicolous degree.

** ShockAndAwe: The reason why Elie knows him at first as the "Lightning Man".

* InstantRunes: Which is supposed to be tricky.
* NormallyIWouldBeDeadNow: He can be pretty active for a guy who just got his gut ripped open.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: He has a magic battle that lasts seven whole days. Only the first couple spells and the last strikes of the match are shown.
* OneManArmy: When Haja turns his village against him and he escapes. He takes on the whole village ''by himself''. Even better, he did it without a ''single fatality'' using nothing but a sword and low magic power. To be fair, the sword absorbed the villagers' mana.
* PostVictoryCollapse: After his fight with Haja. In his defense, he went a whole week without food or water, since it's the most ridiculously long fight in the series.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: [[spoiler:Death came late for him, though]].

* PetTheDog: Revealed after his death, he did love Deep Snow like a son and wanted to keep him away from his war.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: Leads the Demon Card and is by far the strongest member at the start of the series. 638* BigBad: He takes over the position of the biggest main villain after King dies.
* BlowYouAway: Not just people. He splits the earth with ''wind''.
* CallingYourAttacks: Just like Haru, but with the word "dark" added before each sword form.
* CosmicPlaything: One of the rules of the universe is [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer literally]] that his bloodline has to suffer.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Spent virtually his entire childhood in a dark prison before it was destroyed after his father died.
* DoomMagnet: Sinclaire was attracted to his madness, making him more [[AxCrazy deranged]].
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: Despite all but boasting that his father's death didn't affect him, his mother's clearly did. He mentions her death as the first thing to go wrong in his life (while not even touching on his father) and named the final form of his sword after her.
* EvilCounterpart: Done as much as possible with Haru. Both are teenage boys born on July 7th, 0050, had fathers named Gale, grandfathers of royalty, carry swords with ten different forms, and have a crush on Elie. Their personality is what sets them apart; Haru is an AllLovingHero while Lucia is an OmnicidalManiac.
* ForcefulKiss: Steals Elie's [[SacredFirstKiss first kiss.]]
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: He has a piece of the Sinclair Dark Bring, and he almost never uses it.
* FreudianExcuse: His getting caught up in the first attack on Demon Card and being locked away in Mega Unit.
* GenderBlenderName: Lucia is male despite having a feminine-sounding name.
* GenerationXerox: His fight with Haru is much like their father's reasons to fight each other.
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: In general, locking a small child up in a maximum security prison and depriving them of contact with the rest of the world for ten years is bad for one's mental health.

* InstantExpert: Has less time with the Decalogue sword than his father did but by the time he faces Haru, he's learned to use nine of its ten forms.
%%* LaserGuidedTykebomb: Courtesy of the Sinclaire stone.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: One of the biggest plot twists regarding Lucia is that he isn't dead. The reader is even treated to his StartOfDarkness several volumes before learning his character exists as more than a one off in somebody else's tragic backstory.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Very much, except a little more paranoid and more of a {{Jerkass}}.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: One of the reasons he tries to kill Haru is so he can have Elie to himself.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: [[spoiler:His body slowly disintegrates after Haru defeats him.]]
* OneManArmy: After breaking out of prison he killed an entire army single handedly, and then traveled to meet Haru by coercing an infamous crime syndicate into letting him use their airship. This was before he got the Decalogue sword.
* ParentalAbandonment: He lost his mother in an attack at age six, and because King didn't know he survived that attack, he was basically left to rot in Mega Unit while his father went off committing random acts of terrorism rather than trying to rescue him.
%%* ThePowerOfHate: The tenth form of his sword, [[spoiler:Dark Emilia]].
* RoomFullOfCrazy: Sieg discovers Lucia's room, which he finds with the walls covered with ominous messages and disturbing drawings.

* ThenLetMeBeEvil: Coming from a family with a history of villainy, the Empire decided to get it over with and preemptively arrest Lucia. When he was six. That he went to prison because he was expected to become a villain is, ultimately, his motive for becoming a villain.
* UnholyNuke: Seemingly one of the powers of his Mother Dark Bring, which he calls "Distortion", is to create a vortex of destruction that annihilates anything inside. [[spoiler: Does nothing to a Sacrifar-empowered Haru.]]
* UsedToBeASweetKid: The first flashback of him as a kid even has him hiding from a stranger behind his mom. Then an ambitious [[GlorySeeker position seeker]] shoots down his entire family and he is then locked up in a cell for a decade, leading to his insanity and hatred of the world to fester.
* VillainousBreakdown: Has a minor one when fighting Haru for a second one as the latter proved stronger then he was and [[SympathyForTheDevil tried to feel sorry for him]], making this also a case of DontYouDarePityMe.
** [[spoiler: Then their last fight has him basically blurting out the reasons for wanting the world to die with tears in his eyes.]]
* VillainousCrush: He has a dangerous infatuation with Elie, TheHero's love interest.

* AxCrazy: He's dangerously insane, obsessive, and murderous.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: He became obsessed with Julia because she was the only one who approached him in his loneliness.
* {{BFS}}: His weapon of choice outside of Dark Bring is a massive black sword which he usually carries with one hand. Reina even commented on this.
* CainAndAbel: He's the Cain to Jade's Abel, the latter being a respected and famous Empire General while Jegan is a morally bankrupt swordsman working for an evil organization.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: He was in love with Julia since childhood, but she always chose Let over him.
* CrazyJealousGuy: He never stopped hating Let's guts for being the man Julia chose to love.

* EvilFormerFriend: Let considered Jegan a [[FriendlyRivalry friendly rival]], but the feeling wasn't mutual. When he realized Julia would always choose Let over him, Jegan decided to get rid of all obstacles to be with Julia and became Let's biggest enemy by making him think he killed Julia.

-->Voiced by: Souichirou Tanaka (JP), Creator/KirkThornton (EN)
-----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Has a rather cocky demeanor most of the time, though he shows fear when confronted by a stern Haja or by Megido.
* BloodKnight: He destroyed a giant city known for its steel walls just to kill some time. He also express boredom when Haru is unable to hurt him, and he's the first of his group to accept Lucia once he hears his plans of war and destruction.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He shows up once before the battle with King after having destoryed a town out of boredom, but has no role at all until after Lucia is freed.
* HornedHumanoid: They make him look even more demon-like. During the coronation ceremony he wears a hood that conceal most of them.
* DishingOutDirt: His Dark Bring, "The Earth". He mostly uses it to attack people with fists of stone and shift the soil under their very feet.
* InformedAbility: He's supposed to be the strongest general, but all the others gave the heroes a much harder time. He does, however, utterly curbstomps Haru in their first combat and, objectively, he only fought them on two occasions, the second of which was much, much later in the story, when our heroes have grown stronger.
* MeaningfulName: Mashima took his name from the Ars Goetia's Berial.
* NoSell: The first time he fights the heroes he's able to catch TMC with his canines and tank Blue Crinsom's attack with no effort at all.

The sixth, and vain, Demon Card general. Julius has serious moments once in a blue moon, and usually only because the enemy dared to strike him in the face. In spite of his goofy attitude, he's a powerful fighter, and the other generals tolerate his behavior. He seems to be the only general who acknowledges Shuda as an equal.

-->Voiced by: Akira Sasanuma (JP), Creator/JeffNimoy (EN)
----
* AffablyEvil: Easily one of the nicer people in Demon Card unless you hurt his face, in which case he gets mad only to return to his usual narcissistic nature.
* TheBeautifulElite: His face is SeriousBusiness.
* BerserkButton: Hitting his face makes him go berserk.
* ButtMonkey: During the encounter between the heroes and the Oracion Seis in Symphonia he was kicked in the nads by Elie and thrown around like a ragdoll by Haru and Sieg.
* CloudCuckooLander: He's one of the seven evil generals that the cast fights throughout the series, but he's more often concerned with all that is beautiful (especially himself) and can act pretty stupid for as much credit as King gives him.
* CoolSword: The form of his Dark Bring.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadAss: On the rare occasions where he's serious.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: [[spoiler:Defeat in a dance contest, mind you]].

* GroinAttack: He dodges most of Elie's attacks, but falls victim to one that cripples him. Too bad for Elie, he goes from paralized to berserk when she shoots his face next.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Due to Elie being a better dancer]].
* AnIcePerson: His Dark Bring's power, Ama d'Etoile. He can also "freeze" people in place without actually covering them in ice.

* AntiVillain: He only wants to do his father proud.
* BodyHorror: He's able to bend literally anything that moves in any manner he chooses, ''including people''! He also has a second Dark Bring embedded in his chest.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: [[spoiler:His forbidden Dark Bring is able to awaken the hidden power of humans, enough to beat the crap of Shuda.]]
* ImprobableAge: Explained away by him aging 2.5 times faster than a normal person, but he was a baby when Emilia and Sakura died. In other words, he's only been alive about ten years during the events of the story. And even if you count him as 25, he's still a 25 year old who was one of the Empire's top generals, despite having no connections to propel him to that point and, at most, eight years to climb the social ladder. (Or three, if you don't want to count the time it would take him to reach a reasonable age to enlist.)
* MakingASplash: Able to bend water, though his Dark Bring Zero Stream works on everything that has a stream, including [[BlowYouAway wind]] and [[BodyHorror blood]].
* MeaningfulName: Kind of. It was snowing heavily when King named him.

-----
* AllThereInTheManual: Most of their backgrounds are revealed in the back pages of the book.
* InformedAbility: These five are said to have powers greater than a 1000 [[OurDemonsAreDifferent demonoids]], yet they go down much quicker than most of the later QuirkyMiniBossSquad of the series.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: These five are much more detailed in design, especially compared to the later [[QuirkyMiniBossSquad guardians]] of the major antagonists who would later appear in the story; especially L'Tiangle, who is noted to be the hardest character to draw in the whole series.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Like Berial's case, it's not made clear if they are of a separate race from the Demon Lords' race; but it's clear that each of the members come from different types of Demonoid, with Ron and L'Tiangle being AnimatedArmor, Rionette being a tall blue creature with a long neck, skinny arms, and a tail coming out of its back and Racas being a yellow, segmented pointy eared humanoid.
* QuirkyMiniBossSquad: The most notable of the series, with Racas and Rionette being the oddest of the group.

* CastingAShadow: He uses his Dark Bring, "Shadow Doll", can turn into a shadow to avoid attacks and use ShadowPin to block his enemies.
* GlassCannon: Rionette is quite powerful and dangerous to deal with, but once his powers are removed Elie can make short work of him.

* ActionGirl: Sopra is a capable warrior, able to wipe the floor with a room full of Onigami soldiers alone. When she was just supposed to keep Range from being interrupted.

* GirlishPigtails: Range's hairstyle, appropriately enough considering her age and attitude.
* GondorCallsForAid: [[spoiler: When Lucia is about to bring forth TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt, they lead the Amazons to help Haru along with everyone else.]]
* InTheBack: Both Sopra and Range are taken out of commission when Gob uses his Dark Bring to backstab them.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Sopra is 17 and Range is 14, but they go along very well.

* RedOniBlueOni: Range is the Red, being short, young, overly cute and playful, while Sopra is tall, tomboyish and serious.
* SuperScream: Range's Dark Bring and only weapon is Used Sound: after a few seconds' worth of countdown, she can unleash an eardrum-popping scream capable of taking anyone out of order. However, she's vulnerable while she charges the attack (at least ten seconds) and covering one's ears will nullify the effect.

-----
* EvilGenius: He was this to Demon Card back when King was in charge. [[spoiler: Then Haja sealed him.]]
* {{Gonk}}: Has a downright unpleasant appearence, especially with that tube-thing connected to a plate on his head.
* HateSink: Probably the most repulsive and unlikeable member of Demon Card.
* KickThemWhileTheyReDown: [[spoiler: He unleashes his fury on a powerless Miltz, Nibel and Hilde and even kicks savagely Haja's corpse.]]
* MadScientist: Was one for Demong Card, studying Dark Bring and performing.... questionable experiments. It's telling that King finds out that Igor was the only person left in the compound (the others, according to him, fled).

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shakuma_rave.png]]

Haja's teacher whose magic surpasses even his own, he joins Demon Card in order to initiate Project DR. He is also the old king of the Raregroove Kingdom, thus being King's father and Lucia's grandpa and real name is Raregroove.
----
* TheArchmage: The strongest sorcerer in the series.
* AxCrazy: As it turns out, he's the worst in the series. He was disappointed with Overdrive only killing two million people because he wanted the entire world to be destroyed.
* BaitTheDog:
** The Raregroove king was implied to be a WellIntentionedExtremist until he was revealed to be a a sadistic sorcerer who started the war ForTheEvulz.
** Also putting King up for adoption was only to have him grow up and destroy the universe for him rather than any concern.
* BlankWhiteEyes: He has these in the short moments prior to his death to emphasize his insanity.
* BrokenPedestal:
** To King, who viewed him as a WellIntentionedExtremist and revered him as one who should have won the war. He died before learning that his father not only started the war for sadistic amusement, but also wants to erase all of existence due to the current world being a reset of the apocalypse in the old timeline.
** To Haja, had he lived past his encounter with Sieg. Shakuma's [[SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong true]] [[OmnicidalManiac goals]] directly oppose his student's GodhoodSeeker goals.
* CardCarryingVillain: Not obvious at first as he acts with solemn decorum, but when his true personality is revealed, it becomes clear that he's a proud sadist and genocidal maniac. And unlike his son and grandson, he has no redeeming qualities to counter this.
* ElementalPowers: To an extent even bigger than Sieg and Haja, as he can use long forgotten spells.
* EvilOldFolks: In spite of being the worst parent and a horrible human being, he's the strongest sorcerer in the series almost killing the entire cast. Plus he is Lucia's grandfather. Even more of one, once he's revealed to be a disgusting sadist.
* EvilSorcerer: Most powerful one in the series.
* EvilerThanThou: Haja assumed that Shakuma shared in his ambitions to take over all of existence, he died before learning that the latter was a sadistic monster bent on returning the universe to its previous state.
* ForTheEvulz: Unlike his son and grandson, he's just evil because he enjoys watching people suffer and die.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He was the one who first used the Sinclair and started the conflict of the entire series, and made sure his family would continue the his war to destroy the world.
* HateSink: Once his true personality is revealed, it becomes clear that he's easily the worst human being in the series, being an [[AbusiveParents deliberately neglectful parent/grandparent]] who let his family suffer that they would grow up hateful and genocidal like him; killing his nemesis in a sadistically drawn-out manner, and started a war for sadism alone. And unlike other villains, he doesn't have the Dark Bring to brainwash his way of thinking, let alone the [[FreudianExcuse humanizing reason]] to justify any of his actions.
* KickTheDog: Several, especially after the true nature of his personality are revealed.
** He kills a reformed Jegan and an entire town just for the former trying to live a peaceful life and failing Demon Card.
** He destroys Sieg's skeleton, desecrating his resting place for no reason other than annoyance.
** Revealing that he started the war 50 years ago for no reason than a bid to reset everything to oblivion and for sadism.
** Leaving King to grow up alone, and letting Lucia being imprisoned for 10 years in spite of having all of the power to stop their tragedies from happening. Just so that they would grow hateful and destroy the world.
** Giving the king of Symphonia, Haru's grandfather, a curse that would give him a slow and agonizingly painful death. While recounting it with glee to Elie years later.
** Trying to goad Elie into destroying the world by revealing all of this to her in hopes that she'd destroy everything in rage.
* LukeIAmYourFather: He's revealed to be King's father and and by extension Lucia's grandfather.
* {{Jerkass}}: He openly celebrates the suffering of others.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: He left King to be raised by some family, not out of concern, but to later grow up to be a world destroying sociopath.
* MagicStaff: Shakuma carries a long, wooden staff with three swirls at the end. While he primarily used it for flight and magic.
* MaskOfSanity: For most of his appearance, he has the demeanor of a solemn, confident sorcerer, it's not until he's hit by Elie's attack that the mask falls off and he reveals his true insane, sadistic nature.
* MeteorSummoningAttack: Meteoric Shower, and that's just one of his tamer spells.
* NotSoStoic: Once he reveals his vile nature, he drops his stoic mask.
* ParentalAbandonment: He left his son King to some family, but considering his character, it was likely he wanted him to grow and destroy the universe as soon as possible rather than concern.
* PerpetualFrowner: He only smiled once, and that was a merely a second.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: He can create giant natural disasters on a whim.
* ProphetEyes: He's a wizard with blank white eyes, until his VillainousBreakdown, when he regains pupils.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: Back when he was king of the Raregroove kingdom.
* {{Sadist}}: As it turns out, he's easily the most sadistic of the Raregrooves, causing a curse on the King of Symphonia that would slowly kill him like a disease.
* SlasherSmile: His expression devolves into a full insane grin once he loses it.
* TheStoic: Most of the time during his first appearence, not showing emotions even when he's bombarding a city with meteors or implacably chasing down the heroes with his superior magic.
* StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred: Encourages Elie to kill him with Etherion because he's certain she will destroy the world along with him. This stop when it turns out she can control it enough to just kill him.
* SuperToughness: Unlike his apprentice he takes a hell of a beating before biting the dust, surviving Elie throwing one of his own very destructive spells back at him.
* TheUnfettered: He wants to destroy the world and doesn't care how. Even his own life comes second as long he can achieve his goal.
* VillainousBreakdown: After being hit by Elie's Etherion, he goes from being a PerpetualFrowner with ProphetEyes to a disgusting monster who gloats about his evil deeds.
* WalkingSpoiler: Knowing too much about him gives away the revelation that he's Lucia's paternal grandfather and the former king of the Raregroove Kingdom.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Not as bad as King's but a dark showing on FantasticRacism.
* DarkIsEvil: His affinity and power, [[spoiler: subverted as well; the reason why the humans abandoned and mistreated him was because non-humans were viewed to be abominations of darkness, which ultimately encouraged him to embrace Sinclaire]].
* DontYouDarePityMe: A little creepy when he says it. Doubles as his VillainousBreakdown as it becomes a MadnessMantra.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Giving him a Vampire-like look.
* ElementalRockPaperScissors: Discussed in the fight against him, when Ruby protects his friends from one of his Dark spells by changing their attribute to Dark for a while. Subverted when Doryu reveals that he can uses a couple of spells so powerful they can bypass this resistance and harm even Dark-elemental people.
* FreudianExcuse: HumansAreTheRealMonsters, that is all.
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: Since the humans imprisoned in the dark.
* GravityMaster: His Shadow Sinclair Stone. He uses it for either imprisoning people in the darkness, one piece at the time, or in tandem with his swordsmanship, repealing incoming attacks and attracting the opponent to his own attacks.

* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Ogre's Red, being smart, calm, calculating and putting thought in his actions. Bonus point for being both demons.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Technically a Demon King, he did renounce to everything he had when he came to the Human World with his dream (he was seen working in a store) to start from scratch. He took everything back after his StartOfDarkness.
* ShockAndAwe: The dark-themed attack Darkness Blitz let him use dark-colored lightning.
* StartOfDarkness: The village he worked so hard to create turning on him and locking him up.
* TheStoic: The only [[ArcVillain one of major villains]] that's not not giving a smug grin or a SlasherSmile most of the time. When he finally does, he's verging into a [[VillainousBreakdown breakdown after finally being cornered]].
* ThenLetMeBeEvil: Despite being a demon lord, Doryu came to the human world hoping to create a place where all species could live in harmony. When FantasticRacism became too severe and he was locked away by the people he sought to help, he lost it.
* TragicVillain: [[spoiler: He had gone to the Human World in order to lessen the FantasticRacism between humans and non-humans by building a community that would bridge the gap between them. 1267* BoomerangBigot: Despite being human, she despises her species for how they treated Doryu.
* BreakThemByTalking: Lilith does this to both Elie, giving her a bottle of poison to kill herself, and to Seyla, pointing out that Haru will never be able to return her love.
* CleavageWindow: Her dress has a diamond-shaped cleavage cutout.
* CombatPragmatist: Lilith is more than willing to resort to treachery in combat, which works wonders against [[TheIngenue Celia]] during their battle. Orochi is also implied to be fond of traps and ambushes.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Lilith can turn her hands into sharp blades of wind.
* UndyingLoyalty: Whatever her faults, she's truly loyal to her boss, and is outraged at how humanity treated him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Doctor Mummy]]
A corrupt scientist with an affinity for werewolves as he created a breed of bipedal wolves with three eyes and machine guns imbued into their right arms. He possesses a reversal dark bring, Bone Knight, which throws away the wielder's soul to transform them, similar to King's Monster Prison.
----
* BadBoss: Doctor Mummy quickly dismiss his latest Wolf creation (a transformed Musica) as trash deserving to die after he wounds himself rather than fighting Haru anymore.
* DemBones: Doctor Mummy's OneWingedAngel Dark Bring [[BodyHorror melts the flesh from his body]] in order to turn him into a skeletal Knight who can damage others by affecting their very bones. [[spoiler: Then Musica smash him in one blow.]]
* EvilCounterpart: To Alice. They both studied together and are elderly scientist, though Alice was and is much better than him, both morally and in skills.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Crash Cookie]]
A feared assassin who, following his execution, was brought back to life by Doryu. His dark bring, All Crush, allowed him to automatically destroy anything that he touches or what touches him.
----

* NoBodyLeftBehind: Crash Cookie vanishes when hit by sunlight, being a Zombie and all.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Haru uses Mel Force to send Crash flying against the airship's outer wall, causing his powers to destroy said wall and fky to a DisneyVillainDeath.
* ResurrectedMurderer: He was a mass murderer executed by the Empire fifteen years ago because of his crimes, but was brought back as a zombie by Doryu's use of necromancy.
* TouchOfDeath: Crash Cookie's infamous Dark Bring "All Crush" allows him to pulverize everything he touches. According to Mashima, he has to focus the power to keep his clothes from being destroyed.

* RedBaron: He's known as "Poison Mist".
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Orochi's Dark Bring takes the form of a series of snakes wrapped around his body.
* TheWorfEffect: Orochi is hyped as the strongest of Doryu's warriors and seems to be a deadly challenge even for Let, [[spoiler: only to be killed by Jegan shortly after his introduction.]]
[[/folder]]

!!Onigami
[[folder:In General]]

One of the main criminal gangs appeared after the decline of Demon Card, is composed by Oni and lead by Ogre. It's notable members include Kawara, Yanma, Gocco and Gob. They're trying to build the devastating Mermaid Cannon and kidnapping mermaids and mermen to power the machine.
-----
* ButtMonkey: They are the weakest of the three main villainous groups sans Demon Card.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: The {{Oni}} species seems more technologically advanced than the previously seen Demonoids and can move and breathe freely underwater.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ogre]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4758-511060045_5859.jpg]]

The leader of the Oni, who teamed up with Doryu to overthrow two other names in the underworld. He's the most heartless of the main villains, and also the most lecherous. He's completely obsessed with power, and doesn't care who he tramples over to get it.

-->Voiced by: Dai Matsumoto (video game)
-----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: He has red skin.
* ArcVillain: While Lucia was [[spoiler:gathering all the forces of evil]], Ogre acts as the villain for a major arc, alongside Doryu.
* AxCrazy: The only people that make him look sane are {{Omnicidal Maniac}}s like Hardner [[spoiler: and Shakuma Raregroove]].
* BadBoss: Despite Gocco's belief that he would never use the Mermaid Cannon on his own soldiers, he's perfectly willing to do that just to kill the Rave Master.
* BigBadEnsemble: With Doryu and Lucia being the GreaterScopeVillain.
* TheBrute: He is easily the least intelligent of the major villains of the series, yet [[spoiler:[[InformedAbility somehow was smart enough to frame Reina's father for his kidnapping and utilize the Silver Ray]]]].
* DumbMuscle: Doryu is obviously a better strategist and has a more thought-out plan than the Oni captain will ever will.
* ExtraOreDinary: A gold claimer to Musica and Reina's silver claimers.
* HairTriggerTemper: If his plans fail, he will act in extreme anger and lash out at anyone who's the closest.
* HateSink: Out of the major [[ArcVillain villains of each arc]], Ogre's easily the worst, even without his Dark Bring. He caused several horrible actions such as [[spoiler: having framed Reina's father for a crime he didn't commit, leading to Reina's turn to evil and inadvertently causing her vendetta against Musica's teacher and by proxy Musica]] in addition to enslaving mermaids to empower an energy cannon to wipe out his enemies by draining their life force. He also is extremely obnoxious, perverted, short-sighted and entitled, lacking any of the [[FreudianExcuse tragic backstory of the others to justify any of his actions]]
* HornedHumanoid: Goes hand to hand to being a Oni.
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: Poor Elie. He also tries this on Reina before Musica saves her.
* InformedAbility: [[spoiler: Somehow managed to steal the Silver Ray to perfectly frame Reina's father and use it as a weapon]] despite being easily the dumbest of the BigBadEnsemble by far.
* {{Intangibility}}: His Dark Brings allows attacks to pass through him while he strike back at them with his Gold Claimer powers and physical might with ease.
* LargeAndInCharge: To the Oni, he's easily the largest of the members and he backs it it up with his {{Intangibility}} Dark Bring and Gold Claimer powers.
* TheLawOfDiminishingDefensiveEffort: Because his Dark Bring makes physical attacks phase through him, [[spoiler: but not energy or spiritual attacks, like Silver Bond]].
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Use his powers to form a massive, ornated shield.
* {{Lust}}: His main goal is too have all the pretty girls in the world.
* MightyGlacier: Due to his Dark Bring he doesn't need to dodge. [[spoiler: Comes back to bite him at the height of his battle against Musica and Renia when they use Silver Bond on him. He thinks it'll pass through him like every other attack. [[DidntSeeThatComing It]] [[http://2.p.mpcdn.net/8102/126815/25.jpg doesn't]].]]
* NoBodyLeftBehind: [[spoiler: ''Completely'' vaporized by Musica and Reina's final attack.]]
* NoSell: Being a Gold Claimer he can neutralize Musica and Reina's silver and his Sinclair, Last Physique, nullifies all physical damage done to him. [[spoiler: It is bypassed by magical attacks, or simply by the fact that he can still suffocate, as Reina obstruct his mouth with her silver.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to Doryu's Blue, being brash, arrogant, brutal and straightforward, but much dumber. Bonus point for being a literal Red Oni.
* SmartBall: He does show some acumen, if minimal, when he hears that Reina is Rize's daughter and puts two and two together about the password for Silver Ray, showing that he can be cunning now and then.
* StupidEvil: Kidnaps the [[LoveInterest Elie]] with the intent of possibly raping her and using her as a weapon earning Haru's BerserkButton, prone to EvilGloating, [[UnderestimatingBadassery severly looks down on his enemies]] and lives very hedonistically.
* VillainTeamUp: With Doryu in order to fight off Demon Card, unfortunately they disbanded after when Haru proved their ultimate weapon useless.
* WarriorPrince: Offhandely mention that he was born in the Royal family of the Oni clan, which should make him this.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: And how. He's one of the rudest and less sympathetic villains in the story.
* WouldHitAGirl: Unsurprisingly, he was going to beat Elie to a pulp after she caused the Mermaid Cannon to miss and short circuits, and orders Doryu to take her away otherwise he may butcher her in rage.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gob]]
Ogre's right hand Onigami ally and the chief of maintenance and technology. He uses the Sky High dark bring which grants him telekinetic control to any surrounding weapons.
----
* CuteMonsterBoy: Gob is much fairer than his fellow Oni, as gleefully noted by Reina's follower Range.
* MindOverMatter: Gob's Dark Bring, "Sky High", allows him to remotely control and float items in battle.
* NotSoHarmless: Gob looks weak and unimpressive compared to the other three members, but he's not to be underestimated.
* TheSmartGuy: Gob is the smarter of the gang and responsible for the Mermaid Cannon.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Yanma]]
The Onigami Chief Engineer who uses the all-seeing Double Vista dark bring which are in the form of glasses and can see through anything.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Subtle, but Yanma is themed after the Dragonfly: he has ornaments on the back of his coat resembling dragonfly wings, has dragonfly-shaped earrings and his power comes from a pair of glasses (in Japan the dragonfly eyes are compared to large glasses). His name can even mean "Dragonfly".
* BoisterousWeakling: Yanma talks loudly, looks strong and intimidating but is pretty weak, resorting to his Dark Bring and a gun to fight and losing swiftly to Elie in short order.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: While holding Elie gunpoint, Yanma informs Ogre of her and tells her how they're going to use her powers for the Mermaid Cannon. Elie retorts by pointing out that if she's so important to them he cannot afford to harm her and proceeds to curb-stomp him.
* {{Jerkass}}: Yanma is loud and obnoxious, and also sadistically torture the mermaids by telling them that they have burned alive the males, only to reveal that he was joking.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Yanma's Dark Bring, Double Vista, allows him to see through anything. That includes seeing women naked and reading minds.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gocco]]
The Onigami Gunnery Chief who has the "Through the Wall" dark bring which allows him to transport through walls.
----
* NotSoStoic: Gocco loses his stoic façade when Yanma insinuated that Ogre may punish them all by shooting the cannon at them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kawara]]
The leader over the Onigami Raiding Party who uses the Stone Roses dark bring which turns anything it touches into stone. Initially they had Unicorn Watanabe a cook who is the same species as Griffon Kato, but he joined forces with the Rave Warriors.
----
* CarryABigStick: Kawara's weapon is an iron bar, which he uses against his half-petrified opponents.
* TheDragon: Kawara is the strongest of the group and comes pretty close to killing Haru. Gob also provides the brains to Ogre when it comes to machinery.
* MeaningfulName: Kawara is named after the Onigawara, a Oni-faced tile used as a Gargoyle, while Gob's name comes from Goblin.
* OhCrap: Kawara has an epic one when he meets Haru's DeathGlare right before being defeated, while Gocco is shocked when Let manages to smash the wall he's hiding in during their combat.
* RightHandAttackDog: Kawara rides a huge horned fish in battle.
* TakenForGranite: Kawara's Dark Bring, Stone Roses, slowly petrifies the enemy he touches.
[[/folder]]

!!Blue Guardians

[[folder:Hardner]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/RM_Hardner_6782.jpg]]

The leader of a criminal organization known as "Blue Guardians". After the loss of his wife and unborn child he found an ArtifactOfDoom that convinced him to forget his misery by making everything simply disappear and [[FusionDance merge with Elie to do so]].
-----
* ArcVillain: While Lucia is recuperating, Hardner takes over the role of the main billain of the Blue Guardians arc.
* AxCrazy: His Dark Bring has obviously taken a toll on his sanity after losing his wife and unborn child [[spoiler: who was actually Nagisa unbeknownst to him who was raised by his former friend Yuma]]. His goal is basically [[OmnicidalManiac destroying everything in order to obtain everything]].
* ArmCannon: Had a gun on one hand till he restored it.
* BadPowersBadPeople: He can bring back every injury his target ever suffered in their life.
* CoolSword: One with a skull marking, it doesn't have a point since its power is slicing and not cutting.
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: Twofold: when he first appeared he was seemingly a towering behemoth of a man, looming over even Meghido and Beryl, but when he appears in person he's taller than normal, but not enormous. Also, his Sinclair Anastasis first appeared as an egg-shaped pendant whose upper part was encased in a silvery net, but later appears as a more mundane circular brooch holding his cape closed.
* EvilPlan: His greed is so much that he wants to destroy all existence to obtain it all at once.
* FantasticRacism: On top of being a sociopathic, god complex genocidal maniac, he views non humans as inferiors.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: He's a cruel and sadistic villain wearing glasses.
* FreudianExcuse: His pregnant wife's death leading him to become an OmnicidalManiac.
* FusionDance: [[spoiler:Wants to with Elie (though more specifically with Endless), he doesn't succeed]].
* GoodPowersBadPeople: His Dark Bring can restore things like limbs, dead things and broken buildings. He's also a {{Sadist}}ic [[FantasticRacism racist]] with [[AGodAmI a god complex]].
* GreenThumb: His Shadow Stone allow plant life to regenerate, but not the same type as Jegan.
* HealingFactor: His main power, doubles as [[spoiler: time control. Though Haru eventually figures out that his regeneration time grows longer the more he uses it]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: For all of his racism on non-humans, all of his minions have an AnimalMotif for a theme.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Apparently destroying all existence counts as becoming the richest being in existence.
* {{Jerkass}}: Every word he says is just demeaning.
* LargeAndInCharge: In his initial appearance, he's easily the biggest villain, but when he really appears, he's taller than Haru and Let, but no where near the height of his introduction.
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler:Nagisa is revealed to be Hardner's daughter.]]
* MakeWayForTheNewVillains: Lucia returns to his villainous status by stabbing Hardner right after he sees the error of his ways.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:When Yuma reveals Nagisa is Hardner's biological daughter, Hardner has a breakdown as he realizes he ordered his minions to torture his own daughter.]]
* OddNameOut: According to Mashima, he wanted to name Hardner after an animal in French, like the rest of the Blue Guardians, but he forgot about it.
* OmnicidalManiac: His final objective is the genocide of the people of the Demon World.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He's racist against non humans for no reason than human superiority, which is shared by all of his organization, even the AmbiguouslyHuman ones.
* RedBaron: Hardner "The Executioner", due to his massive sword being an Executioner Sword.
* {{Sadist}}: He enjoys inflicting ColdBloodedTorture or ordering his minions to do it for it.
* SmugSuper: While Ogre was very cocky, everything he does as a villain is filled with bold confidence in his superiority.
* StartOfDarkness: The death of his beloved wife and [[spoiler:presumed]] unborn child set him into the path of villainy.
* SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum: [[spoiler:He tries to summon the Endless to wipe out his own painful memories of his wife's death, even if it means bring the end of the world.]]
* TimeMaster: [[spoiler:He can use this to make people experience their old injuries and erase his own injuries. As well as building and plant life.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: Threefold. One during his final fight with Haru when he realizes his Dark Bring power is failing him as it can only heal him so much and be used in his attacks. The second when he sees Endless being pushed back by Elie and Belnika, denying him his wish to destroy everything [[spoiler: because of his painful past memories]]. And finally, after he's defeated [[spoiler: it's revealed that Nagisa, the girl he tortured just for fun, was in fact his daughter who he thought died in the plane crash that killed his pregnant wife]].
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: As seen above with Doryu, Hardner's fate is ambiguous, but the fact that Mashima wanted to show him joining the others in the GondorCallsForAid moment implies that he survived and was redeemed.
[[/folder]]

* SuperSpeed: Renard's Dark Bring allows her to move at light speed and cover long distances in seconds.
* TokenGoodTeammate: While loyal to Hardner, she is the only member of the Blue Guardians that has never shown any explicit negative traits such as sadism, discriminatory behavior, or being unpleasant overall.
* UndyingLoyalty: She's exceptionally loyal to Hardner.
[[/folder]]

** Koala for Koala (lazy and with a koala-like face)

* AnimalThemeNaming: They all have French names of animals.
* EliteMooks: They're the elite members of the Blue Guardians along with Hardner's second in command, Renard.
* OhCrap: Usually when they realize that their opponent is about to turn the tables on them and win the battle.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: As a whole they are also ''incredibly and disgustingly'' [[FantasticRacism racist]], considering none of them see any problem with the immense collateral damage the The Mystic Realm will suffer in their plan to kill [[EldritchAbomination Endless]] in it. As they see it, since [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman no inhabitant of the Mystic Realm is human the thousand upon thousand collateral lives this plan will cost is perfectly acceptable.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Requin]]
The leader of the Six Guard has short, dark hair with a symbol tattooed onto his head has some alligator-looking animal skin over his head and a long cape. His Dark Bring allows him to change into acid and burn enemies who come into contact with him, granting him virtual immunity to physical attacks.
----

* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: [[spoiler: Requin is tricked by Julia to turn his body in acid while they're falling from the airship and has his Dark Bring stolen. Unable to turn back into solid form, he's dispersed and scattered.]]
* MagicPants: Invoked, Requin's pants and shoes are made on measure, so he doesn't melt them with his HollywoodAcid.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: Requin is deadly serious and far more threatening than his colleagues.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Requin when in combat, though his fanged cape doesn't cover much.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Leopard]]
A woman with a slight resemblance to a leopard. Her Dark Bring allows her to wear anything as an armor, including wind which grants her increased speed and agility, bullets, Julia's fire breath, electricity, and metal (which she considers her strongest form and only uses on people she hates).
----
* AnimalEyes: Her eyes are slitted like a feline's.
* BerserkButton: Leopard cannot stand bugs and is irritated when Elie calls her one. She also goes all out when Nagisa and Elie points out that her Electrical Dress gave her two antennae-like hairstrands and made her even more buglike.
* CatGirl: Leopard is very cat-like in behaviour, as seen when she purrs when Giraffe pats her.
* CatSmile: Her lips are shaped like a cat's smile.
* CollaredByFashion: She wears a spiked collar on her neck.
* DarkActionGirl: She's very skilled in combat, giving a hard time to Haru, Let and Musica and even defeating Julia.
* ElementalArmor: Her Dress Up ability allows her to wear anything that has been thrown at her, including electricity and fire. It also allows her to wear wind to become faster. Her most powerful "dress" is when she uses metal as armor.

* NavelWindow: She wears a bodice with a gap around her navel.

* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The only female member in the Six Guard.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her battle outfit is a revealing bodice that shows off her cleavage, navel and spotted panties.

[[folder:Lievre]]

----
* BreathWeapon: Lievre's Dark Bring, Hard Breath, turns his breath into a devastating, if stinky, weapon.
* TheBrute: Lievre is the powerhouse of the team and relies mostly on brute force.
* DirtyOldMan: Lievre's a huge pervert, not unlike Ogre. At least Ogre didn't try to strip and grope his female opponents in combat.
* NeckSnap: Lievre is defeated by Julia, who snaps his neck. He recovers just in time for Haru to snap his neck again.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Lievre is a sexist pervert who thinks that women are weak and unable to fight if stripped naked. Julia proves him wrong by kicking his ass bare-chested.
* SingleStrokeBattle: Lievre recovers from his broken neck in time to run into Haru, who promptly deals with him in one blow.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Koala]]
A small koala-looking guy. He has his Dark Bring hanging around his neck which allows him to create and modify machinery.
----
* BringMeMyBrownPants: When cornered by a very pissed off Haru, Koala ends up crying like a little child and wetting himself, to the point that a disgusted Haru lets him go.
* DepravedDwarf: Koala is one of the worst scumbags of the story, and is quite diminutive, even though he claims he's not a child.
* GlassCannon: Koala can be easily defeated, but first you have to bypass his mecha defenses.
* GuttedLikeAFish: [[spoiler: Koala is gutted by Lucia while he's distracted.]]
* MiniMecha: Koala's Dark Bring, Machinery, allows him to manipulate machines and create mechas and vehicles out of thin air, making him and annoyingly formidable opponent.
* TheStoic: Koala doesn't have a really wide variety of facial expression.
* VerbalTic: Koala often peppers his sentences with "Mmmhh..", while Leopard usually states that she "likes/doesn't like X".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Chien Vivirrien]]
The first Blue Guardian to be introduced, and a rather fat member. His Dark Bring allows him to put people to sleep, leaving them at the mercy of his attacks.
----
* CombatPragmatist: By using his Dark Bring to put his enemies to sleep, he gets plenty of time to pummel on them while they are unable to fight back.
* FatBastard: Chien is obese, a nod the the Tanuki, and very brutal and unpleasant, with his knack for whaling on sleeping people.
* ForcedSleep: Chien's Dark Bring can forcibly put people to sleep for seven hours.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Subverted with Chien: when Ruby bounces back his sleep powers on him he can still fight in his sleep, and is even more dangerous than before. [[spoiler: Played straigth by Requin, who's tricked into turning liquid while falling from a great height.]]
* ObfuscatingStupidity: When Chien is introduced he looks like a loud, sleepy FatIdiot. He then proceed to reveal some insight when he instantly see through Branch's bluff and tricks the heroes into leading them to the Rebels hideout.

!!The Four Demon Lords
[[folder:In General]]

The rulers of the Mythical Realm where all the [[OurMonstersAreDifferent sentinoids]] come from with an iron fist. Beryl convinces them to submit themselves to Lucia. They become his QuirkyMinibossSquad during the final battle.
-----
* TheMagnificent: They all have a title to go with their names; Megido of Lava, Jiero of Despair, Uta the Eternal, and Asura of Darkness.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Fitting for demonic beings who loyally serve [[SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum Lucia]], two of them carry some pretty unfriendly names that bring a lot of destructive connotation to mind:
** Ashura is named after the [[AxCrazy bloodthirsty and destructive]] demons of both Japanese tradition and Hinduism.
** Megido is where, according to Book of Revelation, the FinalBattle at the end of the world will happen.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: [[spoiler:Each of the Demon Lords do this as they are defeated, with the exception of Megido, whose body is melted by lava]].
* OhCrap: All of them when the heroes manage to gain the upper hand. [[spoiler: Jiero when Belnika attempts to pull a TakingYouWithMe on her, when Nibel uses forbidden magic to age himself and match her power and realizing Julia has found out her weakness. Uta when Let reveals he holds the spirit of the Dragon King in him and proceeds to curbstomp him. Ashura when he suddenly realizes Haru's Sword, the Ten Commandments, was made for destroying Dark Bring ''of which he is made out of''. And Megido when Shuda slashes through his Hellfire and him along with it]].
* QuirkyMiniBossSquad: For the final battle. Gave all the heroes a run for their money that left them near-death [[spoiler: due to having to use forbidden magic just to even the odds]] or, at best, severely wounded.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Megido]]
A massive humanoid lion. He was the first to join Lucia during the Dark Rendezvous recruiting process due to his desire to gain more power.
----
* AvengingTheVillain: Subverted. While Megido isn't happy with the news that Doryu, a former Demon King, was defeated by a human, he deems them not enough to get him to take measures against the perpetrator.
* {{Beastman}}: He looks like a large anthropomorphic lion.
* BreathWeapon: He breathes massive blasts of fire capable of damaging even Endless.
* PlayingWithFire: Megido rules over fire and flames, harnessing their destructive power to attack his foes. He is capable of releasing potent fiery bursts from his body, striking anyone in a large radius around him.
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler: Megido attempts this by breaking the ground Shuda and he are fighting on and trying to drop both of them into the lava below. Is thwarted when Haru manages to save Shuda.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: All the Demon Lords swear loyalty once they see how evil Lucia is, but Megido stands out the most, since he's made the second most appearances next to Doryu. At the same time he slightly subverts it, as at first Megido was going to torch Beryl alive for suggesting to side with Lucia, but eventually changed his mind.
* VillainousRescue: Megido shows up in a flying carriage to rescue Lucia and stops [[EldritchAbomination ''The Endless'']] with his BreathWeapon.
* VillainousValor: Megido seems to be quite honourable, and even decides to let the (exhausted) group off the hook as a repaiment for not killing Lucia.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jiero]]
A Demon Goddess resembling a scantily-clad woman, and also said to be the former queen of the makai world. While human in appearance, her body is made of ice, allowing her to regenerate herself, and she controls magic and despair which somewhat fuels.
----
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: Out of the Demon Lords, Jiero is the only woman and wears a midriff-baring outfit that is basically a bikini.
* TheDreaded: Her mere sight caused Julia to sweat and tremble in fear.
* AnIcePerson: Jiero can generate and control ice.
* NakedOnArrival: She's first seen slumbering completely naked inside a large mass of ice.
* PunnyName: Her name is a pun on "hielo", the Spanish word for ice.
* SealedEvilInACan: Jiero's first appearance has her sealed inside a block of ice, put on sale in the human world. She then thaws out of her prison and proceeds to [[WalkingWasteland level the whole place.]]
* ShowgirlSkirt: She wears a skirt split into several feet-long tails ending in spheres. It's left open on the front to reveal her legs and bikini bottom.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She's the only female of the Demon Lords.
* SquishyWizard: Jiero has a HealingFactor and can recover from most heavy damage done to her. However, the group she's fighting against (Julia, Belnika and Nibel) realize while her outsides can take a lot of damage. Her ''insides'' are vulnerable as her skeleton is made of ice. Once the latter two damage her enough to paralyze her, cue Julia coming in for the finishing blow via KissOfDeath.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Jiero dons a skimpy outfit that resembles a bikini, fully exposing her cleavage, midriff and thighs.
* SuperMode: Jiero's hair stands up and is apparently stronger.
* WingedHumanoid: She has a small pair of angel-like wings protruding from her lower back.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Uta]]
A Demon War God used to defend Lucia as he prepared the second Overdrive. He was a human-like demon who possessed inhuman strength, wielding a hundred-foot longsword with incredible ease.
----
* {{BFS}}: Uta's signature weapon is the Ethernal Blade, a sword of gargantuan proportions, roughly ten times taller and larger than his owner.
* BloodKnight: It's only when engaging worthy foes in battle that he forsakes his lack of expression to take on a pleased sneer.
* HornedHumanoid: He has a second form where 2 horns grow from his head.
* MasterSwordsman: Uta is acknowledged as the strongest swordsman in the entire Demon World.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ashura]]
While normally small and implike, it is merely to conceal his true form which is a gargantuan Satanic demon with a countless amount of Dark Bring embedded into its body. He has the ability to use any Dark Bring in the world and also can combine Dark Bring to produce effects.
----
* AchillesHeel: Ashura apparently forgot that being a demon filled with Dark Bring means he's a sitting duck for the Ten Powers (and Plue).
* AllYourPowersCombined: Ashura controls every Dark Bring, in addition to Final Story which initially allowed him to destroy any Dark Bring used against him before he gave it to Lucia.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Ashura fights Haru, with the former dominating the fight after his OneWingedAngel due to his Dark Bring nature. Unfortunately, it's for those same reasons he ultimately is destroyed since the latter has the Ten Powers, which is his AchillesHeel]].
* KillerRabbit: Despite his small size, he was able to defeat Musica with ease. [[spoiler: Subverted, he's actually much bigger than in his true form]].
* LiterallyShatteredLives: [[spoiler:His body reduced to pieces after receiving a direct attack from Haru's Rave-powered sword.]]
* OneWingedAngel: Asura has access to a second form that causes his body drastically increases in mass and height, becoming several times larger than his normal self. The result of such changes is a towering, heavily muscular and slightly hunched being which has little to share with Asura's previous form.
* StupidEvil: Ashura chooses to fight Haru, despite his entire body consisting of the thing that the latter's weapon was meant to destroy.
* TooDumbToLive: [[spoiler:Ashura's body was implanted with Dark Bring, forgot that he was fighting Haru, whose sword '''was made to destroy Dark Bring'''.]]
* WingedHumanoid: Asura grows a pair of dark wings in his true form.

Haru's older sister and mother figure. She has little actual role in the series, but is Haru's initial motivation to train and it's implied that she may have forced a little of his nice personality upon him.

-----
* CoolBigSis: She's a loving sister to Haru.
* MyBelovedSmother: She forbid Haru from saving the world and wanted him to stay in Garage Island with her. She's still sympathetic because both their parents left home and neither of them returned alive; she was afraid to lose the only family she had left.
* MyGirlBackHome: She's Haru's sister and only family back at his hometown in Garage Island. Once Haru must leave home to set out on his journey after becoming the new Rave Master, she stays behind waiting for him to return.
* OffscreenRomance: She and Shuda became an item during the time he lived with her at Garage Island. We only learn this when Haru's group sees Cattleya undressing in Shuda's memories and Shuda tells Haru he can call him "older brother" now.
* PromotionToParent: She took over raising her little brother after their father vanished and their mother left to find him only to never return alive.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She looks like her mom, but with a slightly different hairstyle.

* FlorenceNightingaleEffect: She met Gale when he had passed out from hunger. She nursed him and fed him, which later lead to them getting married.

A strange plant person who grows on Haru's house. He's some sort of bizarre insectivorous sunflower, but even though he's a plant he refuses to admit this. In the side-comics, he babysits Levin, mostly via tormenting him.

-->Voiced by: Kosuke Okano
----
* BizarreAlienBiology: He can move only when others don't see him and can reproduce asexually despite having parents.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: His attempts at trying to sound worldly comes as across as him babbling nonsense.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: While he does seem to be knowledgeable about the outside world (for example, explaining to Haru what Demon Card was and what's the political situation of the Empire), he's not that much knowledgeable.
* OffscreenTeleportation: His species are immobile legless plants but live in a normal-looking village affixed to houses and manage to go about normal human lives, but only offscreen, with no explanation about how they do it.
* OhCrap: Early on has a genuine moment of fear in which he screams at Haru and Cattleya to run before Favel burst a hole in the house with his cannon.
* PlantPerson: A sunflower...thing.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He likes to eat bugs and ramen.
* TrulySingleParent: He gives birth to a child, which horrifies poor Levin, which puts the plausibility of Nakajima having two parents into further confusion.

-----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler: When Koala turned him into a cyborg he didn't took away his consciousness, which leads to a desperate Branch begging Haru to put him out of his misery as he cannot control his own actions anymore.]]
* ButtMonkey: Has a terrible luck, though this takes a dark turn when he encounters [[EvilerThanThou the Six Guards]].
* DirtyCoward: He's such a coward that he tortures Nagisa until he leaves her barely alive just because he's afraid of being tortured himself.
* DomesticAbuse: Back when he dated Cattleya, he repeatedly beat her and left bruises all over her body, until Haru had enough and beat Branch up while ordering to stay away from his sister.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: He's willing to bully and beat a defenseless woman, but he's unwilling to use torture implements and he's only pushed to do so when his life is threatened.
* {{Gonk}}: Has a rather weird face and squared eyes, not to mention that he's prone to make deranged facial expressions.
* HateSink: Lampshaded by Mashima himself who wanted to make him as despicable as possible. [[spoiler: Ultimately subverted when he redeems himself.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: Express a strong dislike for rural countries and fancies himself as a man from the city, but he comes from the very rural and desolate Garage Island, as seen with his name.
* {{Jerkass}}: A devious, arrogant, spineless, bad-mouthing ball of slime working for Demon Card. [[spoiler: Though he recognizes his own failures after being turned into a machine-man against his will and eventually sacrifices himself to save the others.]]
* KavorkaMan: Despite being so ugly, he dated beautiful Cattleya in the past.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: [[spoiler: Manages to gain control over his robotic body and tells Haru that there's a bomb on the rebel airship. In reality, he was the bomb, and stayed behind in order to not damage them.]]
* TroubledAbuser: Back in Garage Island, he was abusive towards Cattleya because he was bullied.
* WhyAmITicking: [[spoiler:The Blue Guardians plant a bomb in him when they turn him into a cyborg]].

----
* ForgetfulJones: He's prone to amnesia so he can't remember his parents. Nakajima torments him by telling him lies about them.
* NoFullNameGiven: He's only ever called by his first name. [[spoiler:The final omake confirms his full name is Levin Glory, since he's Haru's and Elie's son.]]

* BoisterousBruiser: In his youth, in fact his recklessness when using the Ten Commandants' 9th form [[spoiler: which temporarily changes Haru into a berserker]] is the reason why Haru can't ever properly use it [[TechnicalPacifist being the kind of person he is]].

* MrExposition: He's the first to explain to Haru a good deal of things about his quest and Ten Commandments. He also explains his past to Cattleya and Gemma.
* NormallyIWouldBeDeadNow: He was actually supposed to die in the first chapter when a cannon shot him in the gut, but Hiro Mashima didn't want any deaths ''that'' early.
* PassingTheTorch: ''Twice''. When he sees Haru able to use the Rave stone, he realizes he's the Rave Master successor and gives up his sword and power to him. Later, after Haru gains near all the stones, Shiba tests him one last time by taking a potion that restores his youth and fighting him to see if he truly has the resolve to finish the quest.
