[[folder:The Overlord]]
!! The Fourth Overlord/Witch-boy/Overlad/Demon Lord of Nordberg/Scourge of Nature
!!! '''Species:''' Human (magically enhanced)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/overlord2protag.jpg]]

The son of the previous Overlord, he starts off as a CreepyChild in the town of Nordberg derisively known as the Witch-boy. When the Glorious Empire came to the town's doorsteps, he was unceremoniously tossed to the Imperial troops to be exterminated, but was saved by the recent arrival of the Minions previously loyal to his father. Afterwards, he was brought to the Netherworld and given a proper evil upbringing by Gnarl, becoming the Fourth of the titular Overlords.
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: As a child, he is picked on by the Nordbergians for being magical and creepy looking. This comes to bite the townsfolk in the ass really badly when he returns with a loyal army of Minions and stronger control of his magical power.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: His skin is blue with white/silver markings. Given that those mutated by the magical plague resemble to him to an extent and the mutation was caused by the Tower Heart explosion, this leads to the conclusion that some combination of his father's connection to the Heart and/or exposure in-utero before [[spoiler: his mother Rose fled the Tower and left him in Nordberg]] is responsible.
* BullyingTheDragon: Throughout his childhood, the Witch-boy is hated and abused by just about everyone in Nordberg - despite (and in fact, because of) the fact that he had magical powers and even when he gets a small army of Minions to command. The children of the town realize their mistake after getting beaten up and having their clothes stolen. Everyone else has to wait a good thirteen years for the consequences of their actions to catch up with them when he comes back to conquer the town.
* CarryABigStick: Though he can use swords and axes too, this Overlord apparently has a thing for clubs and maces; not only is the ultimate weapon from the Netherworld Forge an enchanted mace, but his childhood weapon of choice living in Nordberg is a wooden club.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: There are many differences between this Overlord and his father.
** The most obvious is that his father was a FallenHero while he was raised by Gnarl and the Minions to fully fit the mold of an EvilOverlord.
** As stated in EvilerThanThou, the Fourth Overlord can either enslave everyone he encounters or kill them all, while his father is [[CuttingOffTheBranches implied]] to have been a rather heroic individual and at least practiced PragmaticVillainy by letting his actions impose his presence.
** His father's life prior to becoming the Third Overlord is a [[MysteriousPast mystery]] beyond the fact he was the eighth member of the Heroes who fought and defeated the Second Overlord, while this Overlord's backstory is explained pretty well over the course of the game as the son of the previous Overlord [[spoiler:and his mistress Rose]] who was raised by the Minions to become the next EvilOverlord.
** While Gnarl did admit that the Dark Tower simply didn't have enough space for two mistresses, the fact remains that his father [[spoiler:was faithful to Rose and was essentially in a relationship with her]] while this Overlord has up to three mistresses by the end, even if his very first, Kelda is his ImpliedLoveInterest.
** While his father's age is unknown it's likely that he was much older than the Fourth Overlord, who must be around his early twenties when he officially inherits the title due to being a child at the start of the game, plus Gnarl mentioning that thirteen years had passed when he returns to Nordberg.
** While Gnarl is still an EvilChancellor to the Overlord, one way their relationship differs in comparison to his father's relationship with Gnarl is that, even if it wasn't acknowledged, Gnarl essentially raised the Overlord and was their ParentalSubstitute.
** His father's Steel armor set showed he had human looking arms which meant besides the glowing eyes, which seems to be the normal consequence of becoming an Overlord, that his father was a regular human, while this Overlord has blue skin with markings which further highlight his magical nature along with the glowing eyes.
** It's implied that his father didn't have any natural magical powers since they only appeared once he found the right artifact, while this Overlord had raw magical potential since he was a child.
* CreepyChild: As the Overlad, which is enough for adults and children to pick on him with the exception of Kelda. While she still calls him Witch-Boy like all the rest it's clearly a sign of affection instead of an insult.
* EvilerThanThou: His father can do good deeds for the sake of PragmaticVillainy, while this guy chooses between being a LawfulEvil slaver or a ChaoticEvil destroyer.
* {{Foil}}: [[spoiler:Florian is this for him, as while the Overlord is bullied by the human town of Nordberg for having magic, Florian was bullied for not having any magical ability. Both would go on to create empires and be conquerors but for different reasons]].
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: It runs in the family. Compared to the first Overlord whose eyes only started glowing when he became an Overlord, the Overlad's eyes were glowing even as a child, and this is part of the reason Nordberg ostracized him.
* HeroicLineage: His father was once a hero and canonically made at least two Good choices implying that despite being an Overlord he was mostly just as Good and heroic as he was prior to getting the role, while his grandfather was the leader of a group of heroes who tried to kill his father's predecessor. His mother meanwhile was a WellIntentionedExtremist who joined his father simply to bring order to the land after the heroes became corrupt, which places her on the side of Good [[spoiler:even though she TookALevelInJerkass in this game and helped create the Empire]]. However the Overlord is either unaware of this, or possibly rejects it, and embraces his VillainousLineage.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: He is a head taller than his mistresses.
* InTheHood: As the Overlad, the Overlord wore a hooded coat as part of his winter ensemble. Oddly enough, the fur on the hood is formed into the shape of the future Overlord's helmet.
* LargeAndInCharge: The minions are usually small, while the Overlord is a head taller than the average inhabitant.
* MagicKnight: Though his spells aren't as fantastic, his reliance on Evil Presence and other spells throughout the story makes him have a heavier emphasis on magic than his father.
* MindControlDevice: How he acquires loyalty, by dominating the minds of his victims using the Evil Presence spell.
* OneHeadTaller: He is a head taller than his mistresses.
* PeltsOfTheBarbarian: His version of the Overlord outfit is lined with fur, appropriate to the frigid weather of Nordberg.
* RedRightHand: Apart from the aforementioned glowing eyes, he has blue skin with spiral patterns.
* ShockAndAwe: Most of his magical powers seem to involve lightning or electricity.
* ShootTheMessenger: Frequently has visiting messengers dumped into a lava pit, usually because they [[TooDumbToLive make some outrageous demand in return for their info]].
* SignatureMove: Evil Presence has the most utility and story importance of all his spells, enabling him to dominate minds, fry people to a crisp with ChainLightning, and drain magic from certain sources.
* SilentProtagonist: Like his father, he doesn't speak a word on-screen.
* TinTyrant: Much like his father, he's at least six and a half feet tall, covered head to toe in armors and furs, and swings around weapons the size of a small child.
* VillainousLineage: His father was the previous Overlord and his grandfather was possessed by the Overlord before his father for an unknown amount of time, and the Overlad has embraced this while being unaware or even rejecting his HeroicLineage.
* VillainProtagonist: Unlike his father who had the option to be a NobleDemon verging on an AntiVillain, the Demon Lord of Nordberg is undeniably Evil thanks to his upbringing from Gnarl. While he's still [[EvilVersusEvil fighting a worse evil]], civilians won't be kept out of his line of sights even if you take the "gooder" path - you just brainwash them to labor ceaselessly instead of killing them.

[[folder:Kelda]]
!! Kelda
!!! '''Species:''' Human
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kelda.png]]

A childhood friend of the Witch-Boy, Kelda was the only Nordbergian that did not hate him and in fact had a crush upon him. After the conquest of Nordberg, she becomes the first of his mistresses.
----
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: She was the only one who thought the Witch-Boy wasn't an evil weirdo, and was friendly and kind to him. This pays off when he returns to Nordberg and takes over the village, she's the only one to welcome him back, and gladly joins him as a consort.
* HunterTrapper: A fondness for wolf-pelts which she gathered herself, she's a slightly more bloodthirsty example.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: Considering she was his OnlyFriend in childhood, and she's the only mistress that genuinely loves the Overlord.
* NightmareFetishist: As a child, she was the Witch-Boy's only friend, and gleefully cheered him on during the Midwinter's Eve rampage. As an adult, she's a skilled hunter with a fondness for animal pelts and other taxidermy souvenirs - and she's still carrying a torch for the Witch-Boy.
* SurroundedByIdiots: Prior to being taken in by the Overlord, she clearly thought this about most of Nordberg; quite apart from the odd remarks at how stupid Nordbergians are, she has absolutely zero problem with her ex-neighbors being enslaved or massacred.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Out of all the Mistresses, Kelda is the only one who honestly seems to love the Overlord for who he is. She's still decidedly amoral in her outlook, but she's miles better than Juno and [[spoiler:Fay]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Juno]]
!! Juno
!!! '''Species:''' Human
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/juno_0.png]]

A woman from the Glorious Empire, Juno is a selfish layabout who relies upon her looks to get what she wants. After the conquest of Everlight she becomes the second mistress.
----
* BurnTheWitch: Pretty much gets threatened with it because the wives of all the men she seduced accuse her of charming them with magic.
* TheDitz: Compared to Kelda who is a seasoned hunter with all the cleverness that entails, and [[spoiler: Fey]] who is a leader of an entire society and has been for possible millennia, Juno stands out by not being skilled at anything and not very bright. Her only defining trait is her body - but she's smart enough to know how to use that to her advantage and does so expertly.
* GoldDigger: Like Velvet in the first game, her love for the Overlord is only pockets deep. She realizes he's her best ticket to a life of luxury and revenge on the people that got her hauled off to Everlight under accusations of witchcraft, so she happily tags along.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: Has a purple/plum sash as part of her outfit.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Selfish and petty, she's a seductress who doesn't care about who gets in her way or gets hurt, she just wants to assure her own pleasure and luxury.
* {{Jerkass}}: Definitely comes off this way, happy to exploit gullible men for an easy meal ticket.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Points out that the idea she used magic to seduce men is stupid given the much simpler explanation that she's a beautiful woman and men fall over themselves to please her because of that.
* MaleGaze: The Overlord getting distracted by her cleavage is why he ends up crash-landing upon Everlight.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Quaver]]
!!Quaver
!!! '''Species:''' Minion (brown)

A replacement for the previous Overlord's jester. Originally just another minion, his time on the battlefield came to an abrupt end when the frozen Witch-Boy arrived in the Netherworld and Quaver made the mistake of [[TongueOnTheFlagpole pressing his eye to the ice]]; thirteen years later, the one-eyed minion now works as the Jester, reciting poems written in honor of his master - accompanied by a band, should you find any musical instruments in the field.
----
* ButtMonkey: Loses an eye, gets kicked out of the minion burrow, knocked into a crevasse... even when he manages to steal a crown from the Overlord's loot, he manages to lose his glass eye in the process.
* CurseCutShort: One of his early poems is interrupted by a snowball to the head, followed by a long drop into a pit.
--> Begone, you beast/and make it fast/for if you don't/we'll kick your ''[=AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa...=]''
* EyeScream: Not only do you see the eye freeze to the ice, but when Gnarl prepares to have the Witch-Boy thawed by fire, Quaver pulls away fast enough ''to rip the eye out of its socket!''
* GlassEye: After losing his eye due to an ice-related accident, he replaces it with a glass one.
* ProfessionalButtKisser: Quaver is ''much'' more toadying than the previous jester.
* StylisticSuck: His poems.
* TeamChef: He's an "expert" at Minion cuisine... [[WeirdWorldWeirdFood whatever Minion cuisine entails]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mortis]]
!! Mortis
!!! '''Species:''' Minion (blue)

An old and extremely morbid Blue Minion serving as the official manager of the Minion Burrows in the Netherworld. As well as ensuring that the Minions are spawned and ready for battle, Mortis also has the power to resurrect dead minions- [[VideogameCaringPotential just in case the Overlord gets attached to any of them.]]
----
* BackFromTheDead: Facilitates this for the Overlord's Minions, yanking them back from the afterlife in exchange for life force.
* DontFearTheReaper: Apart from dressing up as the GrimReaper and generally being morbid and depressing, Mortis is a fairly reasonable guy. He even quotes the Blue Oyster Cult song when resurrecting minions.
* TheEeyore: Quiet and morose as to be expected as a handler of death, he's well aware of how his species breed and die en masse, whether he was always that way or a life of seeing their numbers expended by the millions isn't clear.
* EquivalentExchange: In order to bring minions back from the dead, life-force must be sacrificed. The more powerful the minion, the higher the lifeforce cost.
* LickedByTheDog: Minions tend to hug Mortis once he resurrects them, much to his annoyance.

[[/folder]]

! The Sanctuaries

[[folder:Fay]]
!! Queen Fay
!!! '''Species:''' Unique Fairy
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fay_2.png]]

The Queen of the Magical Sanctuaries and the leader of all free magical beings, she is engaged in a desperate attempt to save her people from the predations of the Empire. Quite naturally, she also opposes the Overlord as a being of Dark Magic. [[spoiler: Later on however, she proposes an [[EnemyMine alliance]] between them to defeat the Empire where she helps him recharge the Tower Heart. When her temples prove to be insufficient, Fay then allows herself to be drained to recharge the Heart. However, the process then twists her soul and drives her mad, turning her into Dark Fay. If you're Destruction-aligned, you can overcharge her afterwards and kill her, causing her to reappear in your tower as a brainwashed ghost. Either way she joins you after and becomes one of the Overlord's mistresses.]]
----
* BigGood: For the remaining magical beings that aren't enslaved by the Empire, Queen Fay is the last hope for Good creatures everywhere. She naturally opposes the Overlord on general principles alone, and has to be forced by outside circumstances to even consider assisting the Overlord in any regard.
* DrunkOnTheDarkSide: [[spoiler: As Dark Fay, she wholeheartedly embraces Evil and is completely psychotic]].
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler: Her arrangement with the Overlord is this, as the Empire will break into her protected zones unless something is done to stop them, and unfortunately that means helping rebuild the Tower Heart to secure an alliance. This lasts right up until her corruption.]]
* EvilFeelsGood: [[spoiler: Part of what made her change happen so easily likely came from her growing frustrations at how incompetent her subjects are, how they blatantly ignored her orders due to their stupidity, and the catharsis of getting to watch them be beaten down by you.]]
* EvilRedhead: [[spoiler: If she's dominated into Dark Fay.]]
* FallenHero: [[spoiler: As Dark Fay, she gladly throws her previous good nature aside to become your third Mistress.]]
* HeroAntagonist: Queen Fay is committed to defending the Good magical beings of the world against Evil beings and the Empire, and that naturally includes the Overlord.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Allowing herself to be drained. It doesn't kill her (unless you want it to), though it does corrupt her.]]
* TheHighQueen: She's the top dog of the entire Magical Creature hierarchy, and calls the shots for pretty much all of them.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: Prior to seeing her statue, at which point Gnarl will call her a fairy, the Overlord encounters minion-sized winged creatures that are also called fairies. This implies there are different types of fairies.
* RedOniBlueOni: [[spoiler: As your mistress, Fay's principles will mirror the karmic alignments of the Overlord, as Dark Fay (the Domination choice), she's an OmnicidalManiac who's fully embraced the dark side and hates everything. As Ghost Fay (the Destruction choice) she's very similar to how she was in life, being kind and still caring for the life of everything (though the brainwashing makes her believe "caring for everything" means "hand it all over to you".)]]
* WalkingSpoiler: It's very difficult to talk about the Queen without going into just what happens to her later on in the story.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Florian]]
!! Florian Greenheart
!!! '''Species:''' Elf [[spoiler:(non-magical)]]

Fay's right-hand elf, he can usually be found leading her warriors in the field. By all appearances, Florian is a typical elf: arrogant, self-righteous, effeminate, and very, ''very'' shallow - he even goes so far as to say that only the "[[WhatMeasureIsANonCute fluffy and the fuzzy]]" magical creatures can be saved. [[spoiler: He's actually the alter ego of Emperor Solarius, and directly responsible for the Cataclysm and the plague that followed.]]
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: [[spoiler: It was the mockery of his fellow Elves that drove him to try and steal magic from the Tower Heart.]]
* {{Camp}}: Effeminate and sissy and downright obsessed with "cute" things at the expense of other things.
* TheDitz: His introduction serves to show just what the Magical Sanctuaries are; a collective of stupid goofballs and a magical AnimalWrongsGroup. Florian is more concerned with saving cute animals than actually fighting back against the Empire. [[spoiler: And it's all to lull the Overlord into a false sense of security]].
* {{Foil}}: [[spoiler:Florian is this for the Overlord, as while the Overlord is bullied by the human town of Nordberg for having magic, Florian was bullied for not having any magical ability. Both would go on to create empires and be conquerors but for different reasons]].
* HeroAntagonist: Much like Fay. [[spoiler: It later turns out that the heroic aspect is just an act.]]
* HumansAreMorons: Openly disparages human intelligence when speaking of their prejudice against magic, and how easily Solarius gained their loyalty by appealing to their fears, [[spoiler:in the MotiveRant build-up to the reveal that ''he'', in fact, is Solarius. Notably, this is the point where the nature-loving hippy act [[FiveSecondForeshadowing drops off]], as he explicitly compares humanity to "dumb animals".]]
* {{Irony}}: After the Overlord [[spoiler:obtains the final Tower Heart Fragment, Florian is captured by ''his own army'' since they ''have no idea that he is their Emperor'' and send him to his death in the arena, though Florian's SecretKeeper Marius saves him from this fate offscreen.]]
* MuggleBornOfMages: [[spoiler: In the climax, Florian admits to being born without any of the magical powers his fellow Elves possessed, which was what drove him to villainy in the first place.]]
* NewAgeRetroHippie: He even wears a ''knitted rainbow hat'' into battle.
* TheNicknamer: He always refers to the Overlord as "Scourge of Nature", or Scourge for short.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: [[spoiler: His effeminate behavior and stupidity is just an act to keep anyone from suspecting his true motives.]]
* SissyVillain: Inverted, as he's a Sissy Hero, and is pretty much the case for the most part. [[spoiler: Until the ending, when he drops the act and reveals that he's the Big Bad.]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Zigzagged. [[spoiler:He explains that he infiltrated the old Tower and tampered with the Tower Heart in an attempt to steal its magic for himself, causing the Cataclysm and the resulting magic plague that led directly to the rise of [[AntiMagicalFaction the Glorious Empire]]. However, it's then immediately revealed that Florian is the Emperor, having capitalized on the growing anti-magic sentiment to engineer the Empire's rise and start harvesting all the magic of the world.]]
[[/folder]]

! The Glorious Empire

[[folder:Solarius]]
!! Emperor Solarius
!!! '''Species:''' Human [[spoiler:(secretly non-magical elf)]]

The Ruler of the Glorious Empire, he is dedicated to the extermination of magical beings and the expansion of his empire; face perpetually hidden by a golden mask and laurel wreath, he has taken credit for saving his people from the magical plague and rebuilding human civilization following the Cataclysm.

[[spoiler: In truth, he is actually Florian Greenheart, an elf thought to be in service of Queen Fay. Originally born without magic, he attempted to use the Tower Heart to rectify this, only to accidentally overload it, devastating the surrounding lands and creating the Magical Plague. From this, however, he founded the Empire with the help of Rose, with his intent being to gather up all magic for his ascension to Godhood.]]
----
* BigBad: Of ''Overlord II''.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: In comparison to the Wizard of the first game whose presence isn't made known until the end, Solarius is a clear threat who is shown in a cutscene very early in the game. While the magic-using Wizard was once the Overlord and stole the real Wizard's body to corrupt the six other Heroes, Solarius is a human who rules an empire that hunts down and kills magical creatures. [[spoiler:Though in truth he is a non-magical elf who wants to gather up all the magic to empower himself.]]
* CoolMask: Wears a golden face mask that covers everything except his jaw.
* CoolCrown: The golden laurel wreath.
* DramaticUnmask: [[spoiler: Inverted when Florian actually puts the mask ''on'' to unveil himself as the Emperor.]]
* EldritchAbomination: [[spoiler: What he actually transforms into in the finale, as the sheer amount of magical energy he consumes turns him into the Devourer, a mindless mass of corruptive magic.]]
* TheEmperor: Of the Glorious Empire, obviously.
** GodEmperor: [[spoiler: What he's hoping to become.]]
* GodhoodSeeker: [[spoiler: His goal is to become the most magical being in the land and effectively become a god.]]
* LightIsNotGood: Carries a heavy sun motif and is bedecked in white robes and golden regalia… while leading a genocidal campaign against anyone and anything with magic in them.
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:After leaping into the magic vat, he becomes the core of a gigantic slime-monster of pure magic ooze called the Devourer.]]
* SilentAntagonist: He's never seen to speak during the times he's seen in public. Partly because the Overlord is usually too far to hear him anyway, and [[spoiler: because it would reveal himself as Florian]].
* SissyVillain: [[spoiler:After he's revealed to be Florian, his speech animations are the same as the rest of the elves]].
* WhamLine: [[spoiler:"You humans. So much easier to control in a crowd. Like one big dumb animal."]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Marius]]
!! Marius
!!! '''Species:''' Human

Solarius' right-hand-man, Marius is often seen acting in the Emperor's stead as far as speech-making goes. [[spoiler: He's also one of the few Imperial citizens who know Solarius' true goals and identity; furthermore, he's entirely complicit with this.]]
----
* ArchnemesisDad: [[spoiler:Since he is married to Rose, the Overlord is actually his step-son though it is never acknowledged by anyone]].
* TheDragon: Appears far more than Solarius, though he's not much of a threat.
* HighClassGlass: Marius sports a rather anachronistic monocle.
* {{Hypocrite}}: One of the most powerful men of the anti-magic Empire, and yet one who casually uses teleportation magic to expedite his schedule [[spoiler: and is working to make his Emperor the most magical being in the land]].
* JustDesserts: [[spoiler: After Solarius is transformed into the Devourer, Marius ends up among the many victims consumed.]]
* LeanAndMean: To [[FatAndSkinny contrast his brother]], he's a beanpole of a man befitting his advisor role to the Emperor.
* MouthOfSauron: Acts as his Emperor's mouthpiece in official functions and personally delivering important messages to his master's other servants.
* ProfessionalButtKisser: [[spoiler: To the point that he actually ''begged'' to be eaten by the Devourer.]]
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler:He's one of the very few people who know that Florian and Solarius are the same person.]]
* SmugSnake
* UnholyMatrimony: Surprisingly, Marius is actually married to [[spoiler: Rose, the previous Overlord's mistress - and the current Overlord's mother.]] Given how little he speaks of his wife, and given how little she thinks of him, it's pretty clear that [[spoiler: Rose is only doing this to keep a close eye on Marius and the Emperor.]]
* VillainTeleportation: Despite being an high-ranking Imperial Citizen, Marius isn't above using magic for transportation. [[spoiler: This is the first hint of the Glorious Empire's true corruption.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Borius]]
!! Governor Borius
!!! '''Species:''' Human

The Imperial Governor of Nordberg and brother to Marius, Borius was installed on the very day the young Overlord was banished; when the Overlord finally returns, Borius is still in charge - and not willing to see his territory claimed by someone else.
----
* AdiposeRex: A massively fat noble and the one vested with the Empire's authority for the region.
* EvilUncle: Never acknowledged [[spoiler:but since Marius married Rose, Borius was unknowingly his step-nephew's first enemy and was cruel to Kelda who is the Overlord's ImpliedLoveInterest]].
* HumiliationConga: His forces are trounced by the Overlord, Marius gives him an earful for his behavior, Kelda mocks him, and [[spoiler: the Overlord himself drops a statue on top of him; this is followed by the Overlord either killing him outright, or just leaving him paralyzed in the snow.]]
* FatBastard: Serves as an introduction for the Empire's true character and decadence, being an unpleasant individual content to wallow in what luxuries are in Nordberg.
* FatIdiot: Displays little intelligence once the Witch-Boy finally returns as the Overlord, treating the obviously powerful being invading his territory as a miniscule threat and leaves it for his guards to deal with.
* {{Nepotism}}: It's pretty clear that Borius only got the job due to Marius pulling a few strings in his favour.
* ReassignedToAntarctica: What Borius views his position as, in a fairly literal example in the frigid and remote Nordberg.
* VillainousGlutton
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Sentinels]]
!! The Sentinels
!!! '''Species:''' Humans

A mysterious order of cloaked figures with the power to detect magic, the Sentinels are commonly used by the Empire to hunt down and destroy magicians and magical creatures alike. [[spoiler: They are led by none other than Rose, Mistress to the Overlord of the previous game whose character sheet can be found [[Characters/{{Overlord}} here]].]]
----
* CoolCrown: Sentinels wear golden laurel wreaths over their hoods.
* TheFaceless
* {{Hypocrite}}: Despite being as opposed to magic as the rest of the Empire, the Sentinels appear to use it in order to detect magic creatures. For good measure, [[spoiler: Rose herself has no problem with using it to fly and teleport.]]
* InTheHood
* MagicStaff: Rarely seen without them.
* MageKiller: They're capable of quickly killing you and your minions.
* MagicWand: When detecting magic at close range, they use scepter-like wands alongside their usual staffs.
