!!Kinnikuman AKA Prince [[spoiler:(later King)]] Kinniku Suguru ([[DubNameChange King Muscle in US]])
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kinnikuman_visual.png]]
-->''"I won't even need the push from my farts!"''

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AkiraKamiya (original series), Creator/ToshioFurukawa ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), Creator/EricStuart ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle dub]]), Creator/MamoruMiyano (Perfect Origin arc)

The main protagonist of the series. Born Suguru Kinniku, prince and heir to the throne of Planet Kinniku, he was accidentally exiled to Earth when his parents mistook him for a pig and tossed him out (and leaving the pig to become prince instead). Having went from a life of luxury to one of poverty, Suguru barely edges out a living by doing oddjobs and occasionally (which is, to say, when no other options exist) protecting the world from extraterrestrial invaders. He dreams of becoming a 'Superhero', a symbol of hope for all of humanity and Choujins alike.

Although [[ClassicalAntihero clumsy, buffoonish and]] [[CowardlyLion none too brave,]] Kinnikuman is nonetheless a kind-hearted person with a strong moral compass and a big heart that desires to do good, the costs be damned.

----

* AdaptationDyeJob: Kinnikuman's red trunks and boots from the anime were white in the manga. Likewise, his black and red KIN outfit from the Scramble for the Throne arc is blue and red in said arc's anime.
* AdaptationalBadass: Not him, but his [=FuuRinKaZan=] is usually treated as the finishing move to end all finishing moves in filler arcs and movies, likely due to it's [[RuleOfCool flashy nature]].
* AesopAmnesia: The manga series revival in 2010 basically rebooted his character, all the valor, heroism, and courage he got at the end of the original 36 volumes run is set back a bit so the jokes on Suguru’s cowardice can keep running, all to make the moments where Suguru does get serious more climatic and pave way for him to grow up again. In-universe, it's mostly explained as a combination of him thinking his fighting days were finally over, and the fact that he's began to realize that his luck aided him greatly in matches, and now doubts if he truly fought any hard battles, or if his luck carried him through all the time.
* AntiHero: Was a Type I at first, but grew out of it. And then into it. And then back out.
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: He's died two times throughout the series, only to be revived soon after]]
* BeautifulAllAlong: Kinnikuman spends almost all of the series wearing his mask, to a point where it can be hard to remember that it ''isn't'' his face, but when we finally get to see the real thing we learn that the ugly, bumbling idiot, was secretly a drop-dead gorgeous {{Hunk}} all along.
* BerserkButton:
** Insulting or harming his friends in any way will make him drop the Crouching Moron side and the Hidden Badass will wreck you.
** He also doesn't take kindly to tainting the ring, as his reaction to the ring being filled with concrete before Ramenman's match against Brocken.Jr. indicates.
--->''"What do you think you're doing to the holy ring!?"''
* BirthmarkOfDestiny: The "KIN" mark, located on his left butt-cheek.
* BoringButPractical: His fighting style in [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]. He can't perform any power moves in his old age without seriously damaging himself, so he mainly uses submission holds, which don't rely on their user's strength, for most of his fight with his son.
* BringMyBrownPants: His bowels would break down so frequently that at one point Meat was considering bringing extra underwear for him. It once saved his life against Ramenman. Ramenman became so disgusted by the act he released Kinnikuman from the Camel Clutch and let him go change.
* BroughtDownToBadass: The "Scrabmle for the Throne" arc plays with this. Kinnikuman gets separated from his Burning Inner Strength. Without it, the damage Kinnikuman takes in every fight really takes its toll on him, and he's limited to his 950,000 Choujin Power. That said, he's far from a wimp and still wins his share of fights.
* BumblingDad: In ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), he's become this to the point that Mantarou doesn't fear or respect him at all. However, this is justified in story: Suguru and Bibinba had Mantaro in their older age, [[DotingParent and Suguru cared deeply for Mantarou]]. As such, unwilling to repeat the mistakes Mayumi made with him, choose to devote himself to Mantarou. He went so far as to get every trophy and achievement he got annulled by the Muscle League, erase every public trace of his glorious past and raise Mantarou as a simple father rather than a glorious hero. [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Unfortunately, this left Mantaro with little interest in taking up the family business]].
* ButterFace: Kinnikuman has a stunning physique and an ugly, ridiculous-looking face. Played with somewhat, as the "face" in this situation is actually a mask, though since [[TheFaceless Kinnikuman is almost never seen not wearing it]] and [[ExpressiveMask it's extremely expressive]], it more or less functions like a second face for him. This is subverted during the rare occasions when we get to see his real face, which reveals that Kinnikuman is actually very handsome.
* ButtMonkey:
-->''"Why does this always happen to me? Dammit!"''
* CastFromHitPoints: The Kinniku Buster and Kinniku Driver in the GBA game for his older self.
* CharlieBrownFromOuttaTown: Channelman, in the American Tour arc.
* CoolMask: The red chinguard on his mask slides upwards and covers the bottom half of his face when he gets serious.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: When not fighting, he's an idiot who farts around all day (literally!) and can't even tie his shoes. In the ring, Kinnikuman is a master tactician, a Determinator, and a nearly unstoppable powerhouse.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: By [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]], the Kinniku Buster has become this for him. He can't do it without seriously hurting himself.
* DentedIron: Becomes this in [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]. All of those years of performing those explosive moves did not fare well for his body in the intervening years, whether he wants to admit it or not. It does become somewhat averted by the time of the Choujin Olympics Revival, where we see Kinnikuman looking much closer to his younger self.
--> '''Bibinba:''' Look at you now! All those battles left you with bad knees, herniated discs, not to mention poor eyesight and hemorrhoids! King Muscle? More like King Gristle!
* {{Determinator}}: His Burning Inner Strength essentially requires him to be one.
* DistaffCounterpart: Has one in the form of Kinnikuman Lady. As mentioned on the main page, it could be considered a subversion, as Lady Kin is much nicer than Kinnikuman and unlike Kin she's not an idiot; just spacey at some times. Keeping up with the subversion is Lady Kin's attitude. While Suguru knows how to fight, he's (quite famously) reluctant to do so. In contrast, Lady Kin had no idea how to fight but she took it upon herself to learn how to by asking her parents to hire Meat.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He ''really'' doesn't like milk, and in the anime, he hates scallions instead.
* ExpressiveMask: So much so that it was years before it was revealed he was even wearing a mask.
* TheFaceless: Kinnikuman's real face has never been completely shown, with the audience at best only getting a few peeks at it whenever he performs the Face Flash technique.
* FacialMarkings: Technically it's on his mask, but the kanji 肉 (''niku''), meaning "meat" (and part of ''kinniku'', meaning "muscle"), is on his forehead.
* {{Fartillery}}: Not only would he use farts as a weapon, he would also use them to fly.
* FinishingMove:
** Kinniku Flash and Kinniku Beam (during the monster-hunting days).
** Kinniku Buster, his most iconic and recognizable finisher. He grabs hold of his opponents ankles while they're placed upon his shoulder in an upside down position before leaping to the air and landing on his butt or feet, damaging his enemies neck, spine, and groin all at once.
** Kinniku Driver, a modified tombstone piledriver consisting of him grabbing his opponents ankles and standing on their armpits that Suguru first pulled off on accident during his fight with Ashuraman.
** Muscle Spark, Kinnikuman bounces his opponent of his chest in a bridge position multiple times until he reaches a great enough height, where he then grabs them in mid-air and preforms a submission hold consisting of him grabbing their wrists with his hands and pulling on their neck and left leg with his right and left leg respectively, then locking up their ankles and wrists with his hands and ankles and descending into the ground, arching his back before he impacts.
** [=FuuRinKazan=] also counts as, in all its appearances, its used as a finisher, Curiously, it's the only one of Kinnikuman's finishers that was never defeated.
** In tag matches, he has Muscle Docking (with Terryman and Kinnikuman Great), the Cross Bomber (with Robin Mask), and the Cross Enzui, Ganryu Island Drop, and Rainbow Bridge Suplex (with [[spoiler: Neptuneman]])
* FiveMovesOfDoom: The [=FuuRinKaZan=] is a series of four moves chained together.
* FormerlyFit: By [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]].
* GeekPhysiques: Both the skinny and fat versions at the same time by the time of [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]] despite not being much of a geek outside of being an Ultraman fan--he has noodly arms and a pot belly.
* GiveHimANormalLife: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}. He tried to make sure his son Mantaro would have an actual childhood by destroying all records of his wrestling career and raising him as a normal father. Unfortunately, it made Mantaro [[SpoiledBrat spoiled]], [[LazyBum lazy]], [[LovableCoward cowardly]] and [[DirtyKid perverted]] on top of giving him no interest in becoming a wrestler like his dad, which became a huge problem when the [=dMp=] showed up and they needed [[ThereIsAnother a wrestler with the Burning Inner Strength]].
* {{Gonk}}: Played with, as originally his bald, ugly mask passed as his real face, and his body was nowhere as fit. Then we start to get hints that his true face could be ''way'' different than his mask and the final volume reveals that Kin's real face is very gentle and ''very'' handsome.
** Played ''much'' straighter in [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]], where he's lost a lot of his muscles, leaving him with [[NoodlePeople noodly arms]], [[FormerlyFit a pot belly]], missing teeth, and if his mask is any indication, his cheekbones and chin have stretched out considerably. Mantaro outright says that he looks 100 despite only being in his 50s or 60s.
* TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: In-universe example. Many people had wished for a match between him and Terryman, as according to Mantaro it was "the only legendary match-up that never happened". "Kinnikuman vs. Terryman showed that the matchup did indeed happen[[note]]and surprisingly enough, ''Terryman'' was the one to issue the challenge[[/note]]but only a few were there to see it[[note]]or rather, allowed to see it as Suguru banned all press and audience from viewing[[/note]]. [[spoiler: It ends in a draw.]] It also applies to his entire career by [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]], as he had all records of his career erased.
* HeroicSecondWind: A literal actual superpower of his in the form of his Burning Inner Strength.
* HenpeckedHusband: In [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]].
* HotBlooded: It manifests in the Fire, which usually is his HeroicSecondWind that turns the match around
* HumanAliens: So much so that Suguru didn't believe he was an alien.
* IdiotHero: Back when Goku didn't exist in media, Kinnikuman was the biggest example.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Moeru Champion Kinnikuman" (Burning Champion Kinnikuman)
* IWasQuiteALooker: By [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]], he's ''really'' let himself go; see {{Gonk}} above for details.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Normally a bumbling coward, when he finally decides to fight he gives it his all.
* TheKlutz: Especially in his early days.
* LetsGetDangerous: He spends most of the time acting like a goof and trying to avoid battle. However, once someone or something breaks through and gives him the drive to fight, he's one of the toughest Choujin around. It's also referenced in the anime's second theme.
-->Saa, oasobi wa koko made da! ("Okay, enough playing around!")
* LovableCoward: Initially. Probably the first thing that would click to someone about him was how willing he was to run away from any villain that looked threatening.
* [[spoiler:{{Luke I Am Your Father}}: The 2011 series reveals that Silverman is his ancestor.]]
* MeaningfulName: "''Kinniku''" means "muscle."
* MyNaymeIs: The "Kin" part of his name is spelled with Katakana rather than Hiragana or Kanji.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed:
** Creator/EricStuart started channeling Creator/DanCastellaneta for his younger self in the dub of ''Galactic Wrestling''.
** His fighting style is said by the Kinnikuman Wiki to be based off of [[Wrestling/AntonioInoki Antonio Inoki's]].
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Suguru, burning all your records of your exploits and not telling your son about your wrestling career may not have been the best idea at the time. Especially when a horde of heel wrestlers begin invading Earth.
* ObfuscatingStupidity:
** According to his own ImageSong, Kinnikuman willingly keeps acting as bumbling and silly as he did in his earlier days to entertain his public and keep everyone smiling. Despite Kinnikuman being an UnreliableNarrator, especially about himself, he is able to become serious when the need arises.
** When Kinnikuman and Bimbiba had a son in ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'', Kinnikuman had every single of his trophies and awards annulled, acting with his own son in a silly, bumbling and cheerful way so genuine that Mantarou himself grew up believing his father was a spoiled, no-good nobleman that bribed his way to greatness to live a lazy life.
* ParentalAbandonment: Was confused for a pig when his family was visiting Earth and was thrown out with the trash. When he became a father himself, he tried to avoid this trope by devoting his entire life to Mantarou and spoiling him rotten. Mantarou ended up exactly the way he was at the start of his career, if not somewhat worse.
* PowerUpFood: Garlic in the early days allowed him to grow to [[{{Kaiju}} kaiju]] size, gave him super strength, and enabled his [[{{Fartillery}} fart attacks]], among other things.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: In fact, he hates his royal duties.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: In Japanese the name Kinniku is written as キン肉 rather than the two kanji that make the word "muscle" (筋肉).
* TagTeam: The Machine Guns (with Terryman); Muscle Brothers (with Kinnikuman Great); Blue Impulse (with Robin Mask); Ganryu Island Combo (with The Samurai/[[spoiler: Neptuneman]])
* TookALevelInBadass:
** When trained by Prince Kamehame, he goes from someone with UnskilledButStrong and BornLucky, to someone who can throw a choujin through the moon, causing a crater, then ''then complain that he wanted him to fly to Pluto''.
** The openings of the original anime also show this progress, with the 1st showing Suguru as an incompetent fool, 2nd and 3rd slowly showing less of these traits and the 4th being a certified badass.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Gyudon. He also likes [[PowerUpFood Garlic]] and Morinaga brand Cocoa.
* UnderwearOfPower: Usually only wore trunks and boots in and out of the ring.
* UnskilledButStrong: While he knows far more wrestling techniques than the average person, he's still rather dumb and relies mostly on power moves to decisively win matches. He grows out of this later.
* VocalEvolution: In the English dub of the games, Creator/EricStuart initially voiced him identically to how he voiced his older self in the anime, but by ''Galactic Wrestling'' he fully differentiated his younger self's voice from his older one's.
* WeakButSkilled: In ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' he shows that he can still pull off submission moves at his age. He even pulled off the Choujin Kousatsu Kei (Twisted Rope of No Hope) against Mantarou.
** He also temporarily becomes this for almost all of the Scramble for The Throne Arc, due to him being deprived of his Burning Inner Strength by Mixer Taitei, which greatly reduces his power, forcing him to rely on both technical skill and strategies.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Kin just can't stand milk because milk can reduce the effect of herbs and spices (specifically the burning sensation). Since Suguru was [[PowerUpFood powered by garlic]] in those days, the milk canceled the garlic out.
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: He wears a wrestling singlet styled after the Planet Kinniku Flag in the Scramble For The Throne Arc, complete with it's Blue, Yellow, and Red color scheme.
* WorthyOpponent: To Robin Mask. In fact, the Farewell, Kinnikuman! one-shot covers how Robin Mask is disappointed that he never properly lost to Kinnikuman and covers their last fight before Kinnikuman "retires" after the Survivor Match tournament.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kin_meat.png]]
---> ''"Supporting the Justice Choujin...'''that's''' my life!"''

---> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/MinoriMatsushima (original series), Creator/KonamiYoshida ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), Creator/MikePollock (''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' dub), Creator/SumireUesaka (Perfect Origin arc)
* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: The US GagDub of Ultimate Muscle gives Meat an impressively consistent habit of alliterating every time he runs his mouth explaining something or telling Mantarou what to do.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: In his fight against Mixer Taitei, he managed to use moves from several other Choujin by just recalling them from his memory.
* BadassAdorable: If his fight with Mixer Taitei is any indication, he's perfectly able to stand on his own despite his physical disadvantages.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Provides a more grounded and serious balance to the childish Kinnikuman.
* FacialMarkings: Has the hirigana characters にく (''niku''), meaning "meat," on his forehead. Averted in the Ultimate Muscle dub where he (and most other characters) had their forehead marks removed.
* FinishingMove: [[spoiler:During the Scramble For The Throne Arc, he copies Suguru's Back Drop to finish off Mixer Taitei, and he's implied to have liked it so much that it became his move of choice, as he tries to use it against The Manriki, and tries it again on Black Ship in Wolfman's one-shot ''The Warrior In The Dohyo''. Also counts as SuplexFinisher.]]
* HumanAliens: Just like Kinnikuman, few even know he is an alien.
* HumanPopsicle: In ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), he willingly became this in order to preserve his mind.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Meatball no Meat-kun"(original series), "Meat ni Omakase"(Nisei)
%% KidHero
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: This seemed to be the presumption behind the Ultimate Muscle dub. Instead of having a child-like voice, Meat was given a deep, gruff voice
* MorphicResonance: [[RunningGag He tends to physically berate]] [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Mantarou]] by turning into a popular wrestler (such as Wrestling/GiantBaba or Wrestling/HulkHogan) and performing that wrestler's trademark move. However, he always retains his square glasses and sometimes his height.
* TheNicknamer: Almost always referred to Suguru as Ouji ("prince") and Mantarou as Nisei ("the second" or "junior").
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: His voice seems to be based off of Creator/DannyDeVito in the [=4Kids=] dub of Nisei.
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: Averted. By the Throne arc he's 14, but he didn't grow a single inch.
* NotSoAboveItAll: He's usually the one to stop Suguru from fooling around, but sometimes he'll join in on the fun.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Yes, you're reading this right. It's true that Meat's a child back in OG, but could you really tell from his height that, in ''Nisei'', he's the same age as Mantaro's?
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Renowned for his knowledge of wrestling fundamentals and he he wears glasses. The glasses were especially noticable in his initial character design.
* VocalDissonance: In the original Kinnikuman and Kinnikuman Nisei, he had a childlike high pitched voice. In the English Dub by [=4Kids=], he has a gravelly voice, similar to Creator/DannyDeVito.
* WeakButSkilled: He reveals himself to be this in his fight against Mixer Taitei, as while he's much weaker than he is, he's clearly the MUCH better fight of the two, as Mixer Taitei amounts to flailing around and trying to strangle Meat, while the latter uses the techniques of other Justice Choujin perfectly and without flaw in their execution. Sadly, this is useless against King the 100 Ton and The Vice, the former of the two being simply too strong for him, and the latter having actual skill to back up his strength.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: If it wasn't for the fact that his age was stated in the manga, it would be quite easy to think that he was just a really short adult. His voice in the ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' US dub doesn't help, as he sounds like Creator/DannyDeVito.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:King Kinniku Mayumi]]
!!King Kinniku Mayumi AKA Kinniku Daioh ([[DubNameChange Grandpa in US]])
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mayumi_visual.png]]

---> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/JamesCarterCathcart (Anime/UltimateMuscle (dub)), Creator/AkiraKamiya (Perfect Origin arc)
* AbusiveParent: PlayedForLaughs. He's a good person, just not a very good parent.
* BumblingDad: Apparently it runs in the family.
* CloudCuckoolander: He tends to do really bizarre things from time to time. One notable instance is him offering himself as a replacement for the plate of curry that Curry Cook carries on his head by placing himself atop the Brutal Choujin's head while curled up with his arms holding his legs. ''While Curry Cook was in the middle of a match with Mayumi's own son, Suguru.''
* FacialMarkings: Has the kanji 王 (''Oh''), meaning "king," on his forehead.
* HypocriticalHumor: Mayumi often complains about how stupid-looking Suguru's face is. Mayumi seems to forget that he picked out Suguru's mask in the first place.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Eikou no Daiou" ("Glorious King")
* MrExposition: Is occasional this at times in later chapters. Sometimes, he lets Suguru know of a certain special technique that helps Suguru win the day; other times, he's even more this at the start of some chapters, where he gives some important information about what ends up being the core element of the plot of the arc.
---> ''"Say son, you know about that Golden Mask which was never mentioned before and which probably didn't exist in the series canon until I mentioned it just now? Well, let me tell you something about that old mask..."''
* SecretKeeper: Harabote and him willingly kept under wraps the very existence of [[spoiler: Nemesis, aka Sadaharu Kinnikuman, their own uncle turned Perfect Chojin]], relaying to Suguru a modified account of Tatsunori's (Mayumi's father) life editing out all the needed details.
* TheRival: Harabote.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Again, with Harabote.

An American Choujin hailing from good ol' Texas, Terryman was once an antithesis rival to Kinnikuman - popular, handsome and motivated by purely self-interest. After fighting together and making important sacrifices for one another however, he has since become one of Kinnikuman's most trusted friends.

----
* AdaptationDyeJob: Most (but not all) colored manga images portayed him with a red outfit, as well as white hair and stars. Others have the more commonly-seen blue and blonde.
* AllAmericanFace: Probably the most well known example of this in Anime.
* AmericansAreCowboys: Justified, given he's from Texas, he also even owns his own ranch.
* BerserkButton: Insulting the Justice Choujin is one for all of them in general, but it's probably the biggest one for Terryman.
* BoringButPractical: Nearly all of his attacks are basic punches, kicks and standard wrestling holds. The only real exceptions are his Texas Condor Kick and holds taught to him by Prince Kamehame (such as the Kinniku Buster and Driver). He defeated the Mountain and Max Radial with a simple brainbuster, using their own weight against them to knock them out. Back when the series was still primarily a comedy, he simply flew around and blasted monsters with a six-shooter as well.
* CharlieBrownFromOuttaTown: Kinnikuman Great II ([[DubNameChange Lord Wrangler in US)]]
* CharacterTic: Terry has the bad habit of dramatically winding his left arm before a strong blow. This did actually help him in the fight with Ashuraman, though. He also has the tendency for his shoelaces to break before (or when) something bad is happening, which is actually seen as an indicator of bad luck in Japanese culture, much like how breaking a mirror is seen as bad luck in American culture.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In his first appearance he was a Type 2 Eaglelander instead of a Type 1.
* DavidVsGoliath: He tends to face off against opponents much larger and more physically powerful than he is, such as The Mountain, Sunshine, Big The Budo, King The 100 Ton, and Max Radial.
* DistaffCounterpart: Terrygirl is his counterpart. Just like Kin, it's possible that this can be considered a subversion because his counterpart is wilder and much easier to anger than he is.
* DivingKick: His Texas Condor Kick.
* {{Eagleland}}: Type 1, although he started out as a Type 2, due to him demanding pay from the people he saved.
* {{Expy}}: Of Wrestling/TerryFunk. Both are from Amarillo, TX, both own a ranch, and Terryman happens to be the son of Doryman and have a brother named Doryman Jr.
* FacialMarkings: Usually confused for an asterisk, he has the kanji used to symbolize America (米) on his forehead.[[note]]The kanji used literally means "uncooked rice". Before Japan developed its phonetic katakana writing system, they used kanji to spell out foreign words and 米 was part of the phonetic name for America and has since gained the alternate American meaning.[[/note]]
* FinishingMove: Texas Clover Hold, Spinning Toe Hold, Calf Branding. The latter is also his only non-submission finisher.
** In tag matches, he shares Muscle Docking with Kinnikuman. (He usually does the Kinniku Driver part of the move, but he has done the Kinniku Buster part at least one (though it may have been a mistake on the part of the artists).)
* GoodOldFisticuffs: A notable thing about his fighting style is that he'll often preform combinations of punches.
* HandicappedBadass: Thanks to Kinkotsuman's failed attempt at killing Kinnikuman, Terryman got shot in the leg, which eventually had to be amputated. He was even wearing it in the 2011 series and plays a critical role in his fight against [[spoiler:Justiceman]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: A flashback in the sequel series shows Terryman telling his son that their bodies aren't made to do fancy moves like the Kinniku Buster. This ignores the fact that Terryman knows how to perform the Kinniku Buster and the Kinniku Driver, and has done both as part of the Muscle Docking technique, although it should be stated that he never uses them outside of the Muscle Docking.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Texas Bronco"
* LegacyCharacter: Terryman took the identity of Kinnikuman Great after Prince Kamehame died.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: Almost all of his moves tend to be mundane and down-to-earth wrestling moves in a series where dynamic and reality defying moves have become the norm, and are treated with same fanfare as those moves.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: During the Dream Tag Arc, the friendship power between Kinnikuman and the other Justice Choujin was sealed away by Sunshine and Ashuraman (somehow). Despite that, a dying Prince Kamehame was able to revive Terryman's friendship with Suguru, getting Terryman to agree to don the mantle of Kinnikuman Great.
* RedBaron: He's known as the "Texas Bronco", for [[AllAmericansAreCowboys obvious reasons]], but he's also known as the Giant Killer, because of his tendency to go up against Chojin who are bigger, heavier, and stronger than he is and emerge as the victor over them.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Kinnikuman's red. He could also be considered the blue to his son's red.
* TagTeam: The Machine Guns (with Kinnikuman); The New Machine Guns (with Geronimo)[[spoiler:; Muscle Brothers (with Kinnikuman, as Kinnikuman Great)]]
* UnderwearOfPower: Wrestled in trunks, boots, and gloves.
* WeakButSkilled: He admits that he's not a powerhouse, but he easily matches Robin Mask in terms of skill and technique.
* WhatTheHellHero: Was berated by Kinnikuman for refusing to fight monsters for free back in the monster-fighting days, and again when he TookALevelInJerkass in the Tag Team Tournament arc, though that wasn't entirely Terryman's fault.
* WouldHurtAChild: He kicked a kid for not having enough money to hire him. [[WhatTheHellHero This infuriated Kinnikuman]], who retaliated by punching Terryman.

--->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DaisukeGori (original series, [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), Creator/DanGreen (''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' dub), Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi (Perfect Origin arc)
* AbusiveParent: In ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' he pushed his son Kevin so hard in training and studying that Kevin ran away and became at best an AntiHero and, at worst, an AntiVillain. While the fact that he doesn't seem to be bothered by this doesn't really help matters, it's implied that Robin simply raised Kevin the way he'd been raised by his father. During his fight with Mariposa, Robin mentions he was "...Scolded... by my father that night." when the family staff was stolen. The Platform/NintendoGameCube game "Ultimate Muscle - Legends vs New Generation" has him acknowledge this.
* TheAce: Generally considered as this by the Justice Choujin.
* AdaptationDyeJob: The anime turned his silver armor into dark blue/black and had him wearing blueish-purple "undershirt" underneath, making him appear to have blue skin. His yellow eyes in the manga are also changed to red in the anime.
* BecomingTheMask: Back in the 20th Choujin Olympics, his trainer explicitly stated that he just pretended to be a gentlemen to hide the wild demeanor he had. Eventually, he did start to actually be one.
* BigBrotherMentor: Despite being just a few years older than everyone, he's still considered this by many of the Justice Choujin.
* BrokenPedestal: When people saw his true self in his match against Kinnikuman in the 20th Choujin Olympics they were absolutely horrified.
* CharlieBrownFromOuttaTown: [[spoiler: Mr. Barracuda, Warsman's trainer.]]
%% CulturedBadass
* DisneyDeath: He gets this two times in the series. [[spoiler:After his third death at the hands of Nemesis, he was brought back to life by a dying Mammothman's Chojin energy ball.]]
* EasilyForgiven: It isn't as talked about as much when compared to characters like Kinkotsuman, but Robin also tried to kill Kinnikuman ''multiple times'', the difference being that Robin was '''much''' better at doing so and '''''a lot''''' closer to doing so.
%%zce* {{Expy}}: Of Billy Robinson.
* FallenHero: In the American Tag Team arc.
* TheFettered: The armor Robin wears isn't used as protection, but as a ''PowerLimiter''.
* FinishingMove: The Tower Bridge and the Robin Special[[spoiler:s]]. In the revival, it is revealed that he was also developing the Big Ben Edge that would later become his son's FinishingMove, but it wasn't finished by the time he tried using it.
* HandicappedBadass: See below.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Up until the Seven Devil Choujin arc.
* {{Hunk}}: The anime shows Robin without his mask, as opposed to it being mostly shadowed out sans eyes in the manga, and he is shown to have a very handsome face.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Since Kinnikuman lacked a FinishingMove during the 20th Choujin Olympic finals, Robin suggested they allow 3-count pinfalls like standard ProfessionalWrestling matches. Guess how Robin loses the match.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Nijiro No Kishi"(Rainbow Colored Knight)
* KnightInShiningArmor: To the point where he has actual knight armor.
* MeteorMove: His Robin Special involves him throwing his opponent into the air with an airplane spin, then catching them in his legs, and finishing them off with a pile driver. [[spoiler: Version 2 involves him tossing his opponent into the air with repeated headbutts and then catching them in a triangle hold.]]
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: His voice was a Creator/SeanConnery impression in the US dub of ''Anime/UltimateMuscle''.
* RedBaron: He's known as the Chojin Professor, thanks to his knowledge and skill as a wrestler, but he's also known as the Mad Noble, thanks to being secretly AxCrazy.
* PowerLimiter: He actually wears his armor for his opponents' protection, and breaking it off makes Robin even stronger.
* TagTeam: Choujin Master/Student Combo (with Warsman); The Adrenalines (with Terry the Kid)
* TrainingFromHell: Usually what he uses to train [[Anime/UltimateMuscle the new generation.]]
* UnexplainedRecovery: Was stated to never fight in the ring again after his match against Kinnikuman in the American Tag Team arc, but by the Seven Devil Choujin arc he was perfectly fine and participated in matches up through the end of the series.

A master practitioner of Kung Fu and Choujin Kenpo, Ramenman was one of Kinnikuman's opponents during the 20th Choujin Olympics. Once an infamous Brutal Choujin who has no compunctions in using excessive violence and gleefully murdering his opponents, Ramenman was humbled by his loss at the hands of Suguru and has since become a much kinder and wiser figure.
----
* AxCrazy: At least, at first. He gleefully tore Brockenman in half and laughed maniacally over what he had done, and he shows an unsettingly, literal animalistic hunger before he fights Suguru in the anime, as he's breathing heavily like a wild, agitated, animal and laughing to himself.
* BareFistedMonk: All Chojin are this by default, but Ramenman is as strong a believer in this as [[KnightTemplar the Perfect Chojin]][[note]] Or at least the ones that don't [[{{Hypocrite}} break their code when the chips are down]] [[/note]].
* BerserkButton: He doesn't mind violence or brutality in the ring, but he ''hates'' it when other Chojin use weapons.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: When he was introduced in the 20th Choujin Olympics, he was basically a noodle-eating psychopath who described blood as ''tasty''. Nowadays, he's introduced as a wise and collected martial artist.
* CharlieBrownFromOuttaTown: Mongolman ([[DubNameChange Lomeinman in US)]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Had elements of his in the time between the 20th and 21st Choujin Olympics.
* FacialMarkings: Has the kanji for China (中) on his forehead.
* FantasticFightingStyle: He practices Choujin Kenpo.
* FinishingMove: Camel Clutch, Kowloon Sen Drop, Leg Lariat, and Longhorn Train (Tag with Buffaloman)
* HandicappedBadass:
** Had his brain punctured by Warsman, leaving him in a vegetative state unless he covers the wounds with a special material. [[UnexplainedRecovery It's never revealed how he got over it]] for ''Anime/UltimateMuscle''.
** In the revival, even after a long medical sleep to heal the injuries he's taken over the course of the series, the scar he got from Warsman is still there.
* HeelFaceTurn: Was introduced as a Brutal Choujin, but turned to Justice after his match against Kinnikuman in the 20th Choujin Olympics.
* HeroicSecondWind: He gives one to Kinnikuman twice. Curiously, both times were right before the Choujin Olympics finals, and both times, Robin Mask was involved.
* IKnowKungFu: He preforms martial arts moves alongside regular wrestling throws and holds in his fights.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Kung Fu Fighter", [[spoiler: "Asia no Ookami" (Asian Wolf) as Mongolman]]
* ImAHumanitarian: In the anime, instead of ripping Brockenman in half with his camel clutch, he instead ''makes noodles out of his body and eats him''.
* ManlyTears: After coming in fourth in the first Choujin Olympics (via purposely disqualifying himself in his third place match against Terryman), he tearfully begs Kinnikuman to defeat Robin Mask in order to win the tournament and make the battle they had fought something he could be proud of. In the manga, he cried TearsOfBlood.
* MrExposition: He introduced the concept of the Kajiba no Kuso Djikara to the series.
* MyKungFuIsStrongerThanYours: After all, Ramenman has "[[CatchPhrase 10,000 years of Chinese history]]" on his side.
* NobleDemon: When he was a Brutal Choujin. He made a point to fight honorably, such as refraining from the use of weapons, and kept his violence within the ring. He also begged for Kinnikuman to take Robin Mask seriously as he was saddened and disappointed in him for acting so lackadaisical and carefree before his match with him.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: He's drawn a lot more stylized and cartoonish than other characters.
* NoodlePeople: He believed in this back when he was a Brutal Choujin. By that, we mean that he believed that ''people are noodles''.
--> ''"Noodles are people, people are noodles!"''
* PaperThinDisguise: Downplayed. He actually wears a muscle overbody as well as a pauldron over that as Mongolman, but even then, his distinctive headshape makes it plenty obvious that it's him, and Yudetamago don't even try to make it seem like he's a different character, as no time is really wasted with his true identity being revealed thanks to him literally carrying his old clothes in a suitcase.
* ProgressivelyPrettier: He was a lot more menacing and thuggish looking in the earliest arcs, as he had visible cheekbones, had his gums shown whenever he opened his mouth, and also had a more emaciated build, in contrast to his current appearance, where he has no visible cheekbones and had his mouth drawn like the rest of the characters, as well as a more muscular build, making him look more regal and dignified.
* PunchClockVillain: Back when he was a Brutal Choujin. He kindly signed the autograph of a young fan and his response to an annoying reporter was to yell at him to scare him away.
* StereotypesOfChinesePeople: Initially had the unfortunate trait of poor grammar associated with Japanese views on Chinese People, at least before his character was really established. The dub of ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' also gives him a habit of spouting proverbs.
* TagTeam: 20 Million Powers (with Buffaloman, as Mongolman)
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: ...well, guess. What's interesting is his love of ''instant'' ramen. This appears to be a RunningGag throughout all Japan media.
* YouNoTakeCandle: In the anime, he spoke like this when he was a Brutal Choujin. The truth is that it's actually the Japanese [[NationalStereotypes stereotype]] of how Chinese people speak Japanese.
* WorthyOpponent: He deems Suguru as this for making a comeback against him in their first f ight.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Has suddenly become a jerk in ''Anime/UltimateMuscle''
* UnskilledButStrong: He's an unfortunate case. He can match even Kinnikuman and Robin Mask in terms of strength and brute force. Problem is, the wrestling world is moving from a time where powerful people like him would rule the circuit to a time where one needs strength and at least ''some'' technique to be a good wrestler. He even notes this during his match with Pirateman and attempts to avert this by using the Tiger Suplex and Stepover Toehold Facelock techniques on Pirateman

* AdaptationDyeJob: His green uniform was turned black for the anime. Also, his skin was made white (or really pale). In the 2024 anime, while he went back to having flesh-toned skin, his uniform is now blue.
* TheAlcoholic: In the intervening time between Nisei and the original series, he becomes this.
* AvengingTheVillain: His main reason of entering the 21st Choujin Olympics was to avenge his father's death at the hands of Ramenman. As the quote above shows, Brocken is well aware just how bad a person his father was.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: He's the youngest of the Idol Choujin at a tender 18, and is only 21 by the Throne Arc, still a very young adult.
* BadassBoast: in the TV Special.
--> '''Brocken Jr.:''' How big is the enemy?
--> '''Beansman:''' An army over one thousand.
--> '''Brocken Jr.:''' And how many of us?
--> '''Terryman:''' Seven.
--> '''Brocken Jr.:''' Seven is too many!
* {{Main/Bowdlerise}}: His design in ''Perfect Origin Arc'' anime adaptation evokes this. While Brocken's design has been toned down for decades to comply with Japan's strict regulations on Nazi depiction, he still retains some imagery often associated with them on his uniform such as the Iron Cross. Here though, that Iron Cross has been removed.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: A really weird subversion. In the Throne Arc it was revealed that the Brocken family are born as humans and then are subjected to extremely harsh training. Once they make it through the training alive, they are given a skull insignia (changed to an eagle in the Scramble for the Throne anime) that gives them the power to become Choujin.
* CombinationAttack: Battlefield Dropkick, Drill-A-Hole Cannon Driver, and [[spoiler:Napalm Combination]] (with [[spoiler:Ataru]]). The games give him Most Dangerous Rush with Wolfman and the Red Rain of Berlin (which is actually ''not'' subjected to DubNameChange like the solo version in the localization) with Jade.
* CleavageWindow: Male variant. His design for the 2024's ''Perfect Origin Arc'' anime adaptation has him unbuttoned his uniform to show a little bit of his chest.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Yes, he wears a Nazi uniform, but just look at the way the guy acts throughout the series and just try to say that he displays Nazi-like behavior.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Even though Brocken Jr. failed to avenge his father, being spared by Ramenman seemed to cause a change of heart. When Ramenman is seriously injured later in the fight with Warsman, it's Brocken who cares for Ramenman, usually seen pushing the latter's wheelchair.
* TheDreaded: Kind of played for laughs in ''Nisei''. When Brocken Jr. overhears that Kevin Mask knows some secret about Scarface, Brocken firmly (but not really violently) grabs Kevin's coat and "suggests" they have a talk with the Choujin Committee. The usually cool and arrogant Kevin Mask simply replies with a meek, "Uh, okay."
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: See CharlesAtlasSuperpower.
* FinishingMove:
** ''Berurin no Akai Ame''[=/=]The Red Rain of Berlin ([[DubNameChange renamed The Red Rain Of Pain in US]])
** ''Burokken no Kikan''/Brocken's Repatriation - Like the Red Rain of Berlin, only now Brocken has a blade appear in his leg. Developed as a result of the TimeyWimeyBall.
* HeroicBSOD: After the 21st Choujin Olympics, seeing a cement-coated ring can cause one.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: It's the same name as his finishing move.
%% InformedAbility: An early chapter had listed him as an up and coming power in the Choujin world. The thing is that he never had much wins (or battles) to prove this claim.
* KillItWithFire: In ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'', he states that his FinishingMove is incomplete and that Jade's version of the move (which is to also have your hand be engulfed in flames as well as having a blade protrude from your hand) is the true version.
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[RelatedInTheAdaptation Only]] in the ''Ultmate Muscle'' dub, he is Jaeger's father.
* MementoMacGuffin: The skull insignia on his cap is a reminder for the harsh training he endured as a youth.
* PuttingOnTheReich: Zigzagged. He wears World War II-era military outfits, but he shares no beliefs with the Nazis.
* TagTeam: Most Dangerous Combo (with Wolfman); The Choppers (with Geronimo); [[spoiler:Full Metal Jackets (with Kinnikuman Soldier]]
* ThoseWackyNazis: Completely subverted. Brocken Jr. dresses like a Nazi, but he is a TokenGoodTeammate who doesn't hold any of their beliefs.
* TimeyWimeyBall: In ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]) he lost his hand in a fight in the past. Now in the present he has a hook for a hand, which in turn rewrote how he trained Jade.
* TrainingFromHell: Has used the exact expression when referring to how he trained Jade.
* WeakButSkilled: A debatable example. True, he doesn't have the raw power as some Choujin, but he's hardly a wimp that can only win by out-thinking an opponent.

* ADayInTheLimelight: ''Warsman Begins'', a PerspectiveFlip of the final of 21st Choujin Olympics, as well as some insight into his life.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He's been consistently depicted with a darker skin tone outside of his anime color palette.
* AwesomeButImpractical: As mentioned under MegaManning, he can emulate Kinnikuman's Burning Inner Strength. However, a single attack while doing this overloads his systems and incapacitates him.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: One of the perks to having an electronic brain.
* AxCrazy: He temporarily becomes this when he reverts to his old Brutal Chojin self during his fight with The Vice, laughing as he literally tortures his fellow Brutal Chojin and yells at him to scream, saying that his screams of agony are like music to his ears.
* CameBackWrong: Warsman managed to be reborn by escaping the afterlife. Unfortunately, he had no memory of his CharacterDevelopment, and he returned to his early ultra-violent way.

Technically Belmond was the second time. He also pretended to be a craftsman during Demon Seed to impart some wisdom to Kevin Mask.]]
* {{Foil}}: For Ramenman during the [=21st=] Choujin Olympics Arc. Like Ramenman, he was a NobleDemon who was absolutely brutal within the ring, but kind and gentle outside of it. The main difference between the two is that Ramenman was able to command respect from other people and was reserved outside of it, while Warsman was more timid, yet also more emotional, as he was incredibly upset when a disabled little boy he tried to help up smacked his hand away and told him that he hated him, causing him to go berserk.
* FinishingMove: Screwdriver/Double Screwdriver, Palo Special, Storm Elbow, Wars Leg Breaker, Siberian Snow Storm (anime only) Tower of Babel (Tag with Robin Mask, game only)
* HeelFaceTurn: After his fight with Kinnikuman.
* HollywoodCyborg: One of the more frightening examples of the trope. Also an interesting example in that he was apparently ''born that way.''
* HourOfPower: [[ThePowerOfFriendship Super Friendship Mode]], which lasts 10 minutes, is used to defeat Polarman.
* HuskyRusskie: Inverted. He's not even close to being the most muscular character and relies more on technique rather than raw strength.
* ImageSong[=/=]{{Leitmotif}}: "Kanashimi No Bear Claw" ("Bear Claws of Sorrow")
* KnightOfCerebus: While Suguru's battle against Robin Mask had already shown that the series was going to be more than just an Ultraman parody, Warsman's introduction is where things really get serious.
* MegaManning: Warsman's fight against Buffaloman has a great one. First, you hardly ever see a secondary protagonist do it. It's either the goodest good guy or the most diabolical villain pulling this stunt. Furthermore, it's quite rare when the main character gets a power [[MegaManning MegaManned]] by a fellow good guy. Even weirder, MegaManning hardly EVER fails. However, Warsman heroically comes to an understanding of Kinnikuman's Burning Inner Strength and refines his techniques to temporarily increase his PowerLevel by severalfold. He is ultimately not victorious, but given that the 12,000,000 power Double Screw Driver actually managed to slice through solid bone, it would have likely won the match if it had been a direct hit.
* MoralityPet: Bibinba[[note]] Natsuko in the anime [[/note]], Komandas in ''Warsman Begins''.
* MotherRussiaMakesYouStrong
* NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent: When voiced by Creator/DanGreen in ''Legends vs. New Generation''. Averted by Creator/MaddieBlaustein in the anime proper and ''Galactic Wrestling''.
* TheReveal: Seems fond of these.

* SlasherSmile: The only expression that appears on his mask, and it's damn scary!

** ''Warsman Begins'' makes him even more of a woobie: [[spoiler: his mother died when he was young, and when he was only a baby, his cyborg father blew himself up because he had a power overload and accidentally brutalized his opponent and the referee, making him think he had "encroached on the realm of God" and needed to repent.]]
* TheWorfEffect: After his fight with Kinnikuman, he seems to be beaten for the sake of showing how powerful a villain is.
* YankTheDogsChain: He's overjoyed after being selected by the SKGB to represent Russia in the Choujin Olympics, and worked hard to survive the multiple TrainingFromHell montages that he's put through. [[spoiler: Then he overhears that the SKGB is just a front, and they're really just training Warsman to mass-produce him in order to battle the West with robot Choujin.]]

* AscendedFanboy: Strove to become a Choujin because one saved his life as a child.
* BadassNormal: He was shown to be pretty badass by saving the Seigi Choujin from having their life force drained by Akuma Shogun, going toe-to-toe with Sunshine and ''winning'' and saving the Seigi Choujin ''again'' from being trapped inside of Warsman's body. And in his childhood, he tried to jump in front of a boulder to protect some humans.
* {{Bowdlerization}}: His character was completely changed in the US from a Native American to a British man with a bad [[NoCelebritiesWereHarmed Ringo Starr impression]] for a voice. His attack names in the US-released games remained the same, making things even more absurd.
* CameBackWrong: Because he was a normal human at the time, he was comatose after the Perfect Mask revived all Choujin. Terryman fixed it by helping him become a Choujin.
* {{Determinator}}: He suffers multiple injuries just from throwing the heavyweight Sunshine around, and his heart even gives out when he uses his Apache War Cry on him, but instead of giving up at all, he manually restarts his heart by forcing it to pump ''with his hand'' and going on to ''win'' the fight!

* MagicalNativeAmerican: Sort of. He's a Native American who's a Choujin, so this probably counts. Also, one of these helped him become a Choujin.
* MakeSomeNoise: His Apache War Cry and later his Apache Death Yell.
* TagTeam: The New Machine Guns (with Terryman); The Choppers (with Brocken, Jr.)
* TookALevelInBadass: His ascension from human to Choujin.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Briefly. His ascension from human to Choujin gave him a power boost, but gave him an ego as big. Briefly because it only lasts until his defeat in the Tag Team Tournament arc.
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: [[spoiler:It's revealed in the Choushin Arc that all his losses as a Choujin have devastated his sense of self-esteem and confidence, and he breaks down crying when Prisman gives his Capillaria Piece to him.]]

* AbusiveParents: Made out to be one in the ''Nisei'' English dub, albeit in a PlayedForLaughs sort of way:
->"What a brat! If my son talked to me like that, I'd beat him to within an inch of his life! I'd whip him senseless with my belt, and hold his head in the toilet until he was begging for mercy! I still don't understand why the judge cut off my visitation rights..."
* AdaptationNameChange: He's called Rikishiman in both the original anime and the Nisei anime.
* CareerEndingInjury: Due to the damage to his Achilles Tendon during his career, Wolfman retires as of his one-shot story and after the Perfect Origin Arc. But in both cases, he will step in the ring to fight for his honor and to save the world because he has to.
* DeathIsCheap: Has died three times throughout the series.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: He originally despised Kin before he was beaten by him in their match in the 21st Choujin Olympics.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: He used to be drawn with a purely muscular build, rather than a StoutStrength build.
* FinishingMove: Gassho Hineri [[spoiler:and Shiranui-Unryuu Nage, which he uses against Lunaight.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: Pulled one to bring Kinnikuman back to life in the Golden Mask arc.
* MonochromaticEyes: His eyes have no pupils...for some reason. In the anime they're also yellow.
* ShoutOut: The name Wolfman references sumo wrestler [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiyonofuji_Mitsugu Mitsugu "Wolf" Chiyonofuji]].
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:Of the B-Team of the Justice Choujin, who died fighting against the Six Spears.]]
* TagTeam: Most Dangerous Combo (with Brocken, Jr.)
* TheRival: Served as this for Suguru in the 21st Choujin Olympics arc, due to them both representing Japan.
* ThrowTheDogABone: His one-shot gives him a victory over rival Sumo Choujin Black Ship, and [[spoiler:in the True Devil Choujin Arc, he beats Rouknight from the Six Spears, and survives the whole ordeal, unlike his comrades from the Justice Choujin B-team.]]
* TrainingFromHell: Whenever he dies, he forces the Graveyard Oni to subject him to harsh torture in order to endure life-threatening pain. The worst part is that this form of training is also hellish towards the Graveyard Oni.
* VitriolicBestBuds: As is shown during his match with Lunaight, he still is belligerent and insulting towards Kinnikuman but considers him his closest friend.
* TheWorfEffect: Forget Canadianman, he got hit with this trope the hardest.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bibimba_3.jpg]]
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: In the ''Ultimate Muscle'' anime, she's considerably prettier [[AdaptationalNiceGuy and nicer]] than the manga.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Why she fell for Kinnikuman. She also has a non-romantic version with Warsman.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** It's interesting how time has treated Bibinba. Before the original series was completed, there was absolutely nothing that Kin could do to make her reconsider becoming his wife - she was the one girl that the CasanovaWannabe couldn't disgust. In fact, Bibinba was probably the person that respected him the most as she addressed him as "Suguru-sama". Now, in ''Ultimate Muscle'', we see that 28 years of putting up with Suguru's bad habits and constantly having to remind him that he's not the Kinnikuman that he used to be have clearly worn her out, but she still shows that she loves him, with or without muscles.
** Also, Mantaro is shown as being as loyal and adoring towards his mother, going so far to call a take-away meal she cooked for him ''her love'' and violently beat up an evil Chojin for ''crushing her love into the ground'' (i.e. stepping on the meal). Considering Mantaro has no respect for Suguru, treating him as a lovable and annoying goofball, this is a testament to her being even a better parent than Suguru.
* {{Chickification}}: Parodied.
* DefeatByModesty: Inadvertently done by Kinnikuman with her sword in their fight early on.
* ModestRoyalty: It's easy to forget that she's the princess of the Horumon tribe.
* SupremeChef: She's come a long way from cooking gruel for Kinnikuman's breakfast, making incredible [[TrademarkFavoriteFood cow with rice for both her husband and her son.]]
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: The usual reaction from seeing her devotion to Kinnikuman. It ''is'' odd considering she rejects Shishekaba Boo, who doesn't look all that different from him.

* FinishingMove: Napalm Stretch, Ataru Muscle Spark, and [[spoiler:Napalm Combination]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}[=/=]FridgeBrilliance: He nicknames his team the Blood Brother Brigade. While this is clearly a reference to the military's attitude regarding fellow soldiers, it could also have another meaning given who Soldier is.
* KnightTemplarBigBrother
* LegacyCharacter: [[spoiler:He remains Kinnikuman Soldier and is even chosen by God of Brutality instead of the first to take action again.]]
* LongLostSibling - [[spoiler:Ataru/Kinnikuman Soldier is this to the point where Kinnikuman didn't even know he ''existed''. However, he ran away before Suguru was even born, so it's justified.]]
* MegaManning: At one point he starts using moves used by all of his teammates.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: His response to the incredibly spartan lifestyle being the Prince required.

* BorrowedCatchphrase: In the US manga: "[[Wrestling/VinceMcMahon I'm Vance [=McMadd=], dammit!]]"
* CharacterDevelopment: In the 2011 revival, while he still resents Suguru's [[{{IdiotHero}} stupidity]], it is explictly shown how he's grown to respect him after witnessing all his exploits firsthand.
* FacialMarkings: In the original anime only, has the kanji 委 (''i'') on his forehead. The character is part of 委員長 (''iinchou''), meaning "committee chairman."
* {{Flanderization}}: In both the original series and ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), his disdain for Suguru and Mantaro was that they were fools that tarnished the reputation of the honor of choujin, and often was harsh for the sake of trying to keep the matches fair, even though often they were in the enemies' advantage. By the time of the Chojin Crown, it had degenerated into petty jealousy (He also became excessively greedy). It probably doesn't help that he's constantly paired with his son, who's an even bigger jerk than he is.
* IWasQuiteALooker: Judging from a statue of him seen in [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]], he was far more handsome during his wrestling career than he is now.
* JerkAss: Which is then [[{{Flanderization}} Flanderized]] in ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]).
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In Ultimate Tag Arc, [[spoiler:he uses his position to prevent Suguru from committing suicide if he removed his mask and showed his face to the public.]]
* LoopholeAbuse: In Ultimate Tag Arc, [[spoiler:he ends up saving Suguru from committing suicide if he showed his true face by using the rule that who ever loses in a Mask vs Mask match should only ''take off'' their mask, not expose their face in the public! This along with Mantaro using his Face Flash to obscure both of their faces and switched their masks along with the audience's pleas invoked by Harabote ends up saving his life and Mantaro's future.]]
* MoneyDearBoy: His primary motivation for reviving the Choujin Olympics.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In ([[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]]), his attempt to replace Mantarou and his friends for slacking off on superhero duty did much more harm than good considering that one of the replacements was an ''Evil Choujin'' in disguise.
* TheRival: The entire Kinniku family, but especially Mayumi.
* TimePassageBeard: Grows a van dyke beard by [[Anime/UltimateMuscle Nisei]].
* TookALevelInKindness: The 2011 manga shows a lot more of his positive aspects, such as his Justice Chojin pride and his past [[spoiler:involving Sadaharu Kinniku]], and he even acts as a mentor of sorts to Suguru, almost completely derailing from his [[{{JerkAss}} Nisei characterization.]]
* UngratefulBastard: He's always berating Suguru and Mantarou despite the fact that they've saved the world multiple times.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Again, Mayumi.
