House of Anubis is a mystery series series airing on Nickelodeon, based on the Flemish-Dutch series Het Huis Anubis. The series tells the story of Nina, an American student who earns a scholarship to a fancy English BoardingSchool and becomes a member of the House of Anubis, believed to be the nicest house on campus. On the day of Nina's arrival, another student named Joy is pulled out of the school under mysterious circumstances, prompting her roommate, Patricia, to suspect that the school faculty are enacting some kind of conspiracy.

[[caption-width-right:194: Hi! I'm Nina, from America!]]

The NewTransferStudent at the BoardingSchool. She tries to solve the mystery of the House of Anubis and find the treasure hidden within.
----
* AllLovingHero: She's kind, generous, and forgiving towards everyone, whether it's the {{Jerkass}} who toremented her for no reason, the ''other'' {{Jerkass}} who wrote an attack article about her, or even the house master who nearly got her killed. Even [[BigBad Rufus]] seems to merit a certain amount of concern from her. (Notice how worried for him she sounds when trying to talk him out of using the mask.) She's endlessly concerned about getting people in danger, and is pure of heart enough to make the Mask of Anubis work for her.
* BadLiar: Her brilliant lies include claiming Patricia has a boyfriend, that she and Fabian were using the telescope to find a bowling alley, and that they needed fireplace ash to do a project on Pompeii. Her biggest issue is that she just keeps talking long after the point she should stop, as if rambling will make her lie more believable.
* BettyAndVeronica: In the Nina/Fabian/Joy love triangle, Nina was the Betty and Joy the Veronica. Nina was Fabian's kind, heroic, and shy friend, who was most similar to him in terms of personality. Joy, meanwhile, was his former best friend and a near-perfect contrast to Nina, being extroverted, gossipy, cunning, and not nearly as interested in academics than Fabian is.
* {{Bookworm}}: Nina loves to read, to the extent that Patricia mocks her for doing "nothing other than work" when she catches Nina reading.
* ButtMonkey: Despite being TheHero and TheChosenOne, she falls into this too. Poor girl has had to deal with her new friend Sarah dying in Season 1, ''all'' of her friends being threatened by a vengeful ghost in Season 2, and said ghost nearly killing her grandmother just to pressure her into cooperating.
* TheChosenOne:
** Revealed in the season finale to be the "Paragon", destined to build the Cup of Ankh, and the only one who can use the Mask of Anubis. {{Lampshaded}} by Jerome:
---> '''Jerome:''' It would be the American, wouldn't it?
** Fabian even suspects it before the season finale, when Nina tells him that she was able to find the next clue because she heard voices coming from the chandelier saying where in the chandelier it was.
---> '''Nina:''' ''(after explaining how she was able to find the next clue)'' You're wondering if I'm insane.
---> '''Fabian:''' No. I'm wondering if they've gotten it wrong about Joy being the Chosen One.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She is shown getting off the train, with a nervous smile and an American-flag sticker on her suitcase.
* ForeignExchangeStudent: Nina is from America, studying in a British boarding school.
* TheHero: She's the main character of the show as well as the ChosenOne, and is even described as being a "mystical champion of good".
* ItSucksToBeTheChosenOne: In the second season, Nina's identity as the chosen one would begin to cause her nothing but pain. She was cursed by Senkhara and forced to hunt for the mask, and when her friends joined to help her, they got cursed too and their deaths were being hung over her head as a threat. Eventually, she was even forced to make a heroic sacrifice to save her friends from Senkhara.
* ISeeDeadPeople: She has this ability as the ChosenOne. For instance, she could see and talk to Victor Rodenmaar, Sr., when she was trapped in the Sennet game. And she can see Senkhara. [[ItSucksToBeTheChosenOne Though this isn't]] [[BlessedWithSuck exactly a good thing]].
* JustFriends: She and Fabian went through the majority of season one denying their growing romantic attraction to one another, instead claiming to, of course, just be friends. They eventually end up as an OfficialCouple.
* KidDetective: A teenager who, along with her teenager friends, works to solve mysteries that had been hidden in Anubis house for decades. Despite being young, she solves problems the adults struggle with.
* TheLeader: The designated leader of Sibuna, who winds up with the role due to everyone else turning to her repeatedly. She's the brave and magical protagonist who has the most interest in finding the treasure of the first two seasons, and makes most of the plans for the others to follow.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: Nina and Amber are light, being sweet, kind, and warm-hearted, whereas Patricia and Joy are both dark, being much more rebellious, mischievous, and {{Anti Hero}}ic in comparison.
* MessianicArchetype: Nina being concerned about Victor's health when Senkhara threatens him pushes her into this territory. In the finale, she pleads with Rufus not to put on the Mask of Anubis and fights to prevent him from doing so. The whole time, she gives off the impression that she's worried about what will happen to him if he puts on the Mask. You can't get much more Messiah-like than being concerned about the well-being of a [[TheSociopath sociopath]] who would just as soon kill you as look at you.
* NiceGirl: She's one of the nicest people in the House; she was kind to Patricia even after Patricia bullied her and gave no reason to trust her, easily forgave Joy for everything she did, and even treated Victor nicely after all he did.
* NewTransferStudent: At the beginning of the series, she's the new student, just transferred from America.
* TheParagon: Nina is explicitly referred to as this during Season 2; it's the proper title of TheChosenOne, and marks her as someone pure-of-heart and, in Patricia's words, "a mystical champion of good".
* PutOnABus: In Season 3, due to Nathalia Ramos deciding to concentrate on her college studies, Nina is written out as having to stay with her Gran.
* ScholarshipStudent: She came to the boarding school on a scholarship. It marks her as someone intelligent, and explains why she was late to arrive: her money was delayed.
* SitcomArchenemy: With Joy. They spend much of the second season glaring at each other, insulting the other in private, and being openly antagonistic to each other, over Fabian's affections.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In the second season, she went from being a mostly friendly, brave friend to constantly snapping at her friends, even though they were trying to help her. She does have slight [[JustifiedTrope justification]], though--she was under a ton of stress at the time, and was noticeably nicer when the life of she, her friends, and her Grandmother, weren't on the line.
* TownGirls: The Neither to Amber's Femme and Patricia's Butch, being level-headed and neutral, compared to Amber's ditzy girly-girl and Patricia's hot-tempered tom-boy.
* TurnTheOtherCheek: Nina does this a few times for Patricia, and later once for Joy, willingly forgiving them despite the cruel actions they both took against her, from locking her in the attic, to writing a nasty article about her.
* UngratefulBastard: She's not very grateful to Fabian when he saves her from falling the chasm.
-->'''Fabian:''' I... I saved you...\
'''Nina:''' Oh yeah? Well why don't you save the other girl (Joy Mercer) in this dress?!
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: Nina has an American flag on her luggage in the first episode, but discards it, saying that it would prevent her from fitting in. It was probably meant to inform viewers that Nina was American, and then was ditched after it had served that function.
* WeirdnessMagnet: All of the weird things started happening when she showed up. She lampshades this in an episode.
--> '''Nina:''' I've brought nothing but trouble since I've come here!

!!'''Fabian Rutter'''

[[caption-width-right:286:"Would you fancy a walk?"]]

A geeky, shy Anubis student who quickly befriends Nina, and helps her in solving the mystery.
----
* AthleticallyChallenged: He's the stereotypically unathletic nerd, known for being unable to even play hopscotch correctly. This results in him being stuck as the LoserTeamMascot during the interhouse dodgeball tournament and being mocked in general for his lack of muscle. He does have bursts of strength, which also means he's the one who ''[[PutMeInCoach wins]]'' the dodgeball tournament and can occasionally hold his own in a fight... but this doesn't mean he's given any credit for that, nor that it ever actually sticks the next time he needs to rely on physical strength and athleticism.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Fabian is a generally nice, passive, and caring friend to everyone in the House. However, when his temper flares up, he does ''not'' hold back. This results in things such as his shouting at Joy and Senkhara, headbutting Rufus, and attempting go attack Eddie in a fit of rage. Normally, what gets him so worked up has to do with Nina; either people attempting to hurt her, or his stress over [[MistakenForCheating believing she cheated on him]].
* BookWorm: In his EstablishingCharacterMoment, he's even seen reading a book on brain science. Additionally, he's arguably the smartest one of everyone in Sibuna, and has to burn a signed-book at the first Sibuna meeting.
* EndearinglyDorky: He is known primarily as the shy, geeky, and socially awkward guy who's nice to everyone in the House. While this makes him an easy target for teasing, it also means he endears himself quickly to everyone, such as Nina, who is gushing about him in her diary within a few days of knowing him and mentions him as being "geek chic" and "really sweet".
* TheHero: Shares this role with Nina, being a pure-hearted protagonist who always tries to do good.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: Despite the fact that he does much of the research and saved most of this friends from danger on numerous occasions, he has been continuously pushed around by everyone, most notably his own crush and (ex) girlfriend, Nina Martin. It gets to the point where he struggles to be more assertive and demand his respect for the things he does for the others, resulting in this one line:
-->'''Nina:''' ''(looking at the formerly lost artifact/cube Fabian brought back)'' Where did you find it?
-->'''Fabian:''' Jasper said he found it at the school. Good thing as well, other wise we might have lost it for good.
-->'''Nina:''' But how did it get from here to there?
-->'''Fabian:''' I... I don't know. ''(pauses)'' Why don't you ask the cube? Maybe it speaks and answers questions since you have so many!
-->'''Nina:''' ''(glares at Fabian)''
-->'''Fabian:''' I...I'm sorry. It's back now... that's the important thing. You could have said thank you, at least.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He is reading a book about brain science, and pokes fun at Joy's interest in magazines.
* EvilIsPetty: When turned into a Sinner, his main goal is to unleash Ammit and plunge the world into chaos and darkness. He takes steps to achieve this, such as threatening to feed KT to Ammit when she awakens and bullying Alfie and Joy. He also does things such as stick a cookie on a mirror, rip the last page out of every book, and put jam in the milk at the breakfast table.
* ExtremeDoormat: Until the middle of season 2, Fabian was known as a pushover, too passive and kind to stand up for himself and thus allowing others to easily take advantage of him. He eventually GrewASpine.
* GirlsLikeMusicians: Fabian is a guitarist, and fittingly, has had at least three girls interested in him over the course of the series, including the protagonist, Nina.
* GracefullyDemoted: After Nina left, Fabian took over as the leader of Sibuna. After Eddie and KT joined the team and Sibuna was "officially" reformed, Amber tried to suggest he remain the leader, but he voluntarily stepped down in favor of promoting [[TheChosenOne Eddie, the Osirian,]] claiming to be a "better wingman".
* IdiotBall: He picks it up in Season 3 by trusting Robert Frobisher-Smythe, who he A) knew to be evil in general and B) knew was specifically targeting students to become Sinners to further his plan. He ends up becoming a Sinner as a result.
* JerkassBall: When Fabian is forced to reject Joy for a final time in the third season, he does it in an uncharacteristically harsh way after having mostly ignored and neglected her for several episodes. This resulted in Joy being deeply heartbroken and having to leave Sibuna.
* JustFriends: He and Nina went through the majority of season one denying their growing romantic attraction to one another, instead claiming to, of course, just be friends. They eventually end up as an OfficialCouple.
* KickTheDog: As a sinner, he a bit better at keeping his true nature under wraps. This meant that when he decided to give a heartbroken Joy a verbal thrashing during a hug, it served both to shatter Joy further and to tell the audience just how evil he'd become.
* KidDetective: As part of Sibuna, this is to be expected. He's a teenager that devotes his time to solving mysteries even the adults struggled with.
* LovableNerd: He's bookish, nonathletic, and mocked as being a nerd...but he's also a sweetheart with a heroic streak, and loved by everyone.
* NiceGuy: One of his defining traits is his kindness. He's often the only one to take the "nice" side of a conflict, from being the only one to defend Nina when she first arrived to protesting the poor treatment of the "traitorous" KT.
* NoRespectGuy: Even when he helps solve major clues, Patricia still mocks the heck out of him, and everyone generally sees him as nothing more than a nerd.
* NotHimself: When He and Alfie become sinners, everyone is scared because they are acting like total jerks, when in reality they are two of the nicest people in the house.
* OneOfTheGirls: Fabian's closest friends in the House were always girls. Despite his strong friendship with his roommate Mick, and later Eddie, he's always been the one to spend more time with the girls than the other guys. His EstablishingCharacterMoment lumped him with Patricia and Joy, and even after Joy left and he and Patricia temporarily stopped being friends, he started hanging out primarily with Nina and Amber, instead. Fittingly, he's the least overtly masculine of all the Anubis boys, being a NiceGuy ExtremeDoormat known primarily for being sweet and dorky.
* OutOfCharacterAlert: Alfie immediately deduces that Fabian is a Sinner when Joy claims he was really mean to her.
* ProudToBeAGeek: Fabian gave us this little gem (after everyone teased him for being a nerd):
--> '''Fabian:''' So I'm a massive nerd. There's nothing wrong with that! It's geeks like me who invented the telephone, the internet, and basically all the things you couldn't live without...
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Compared to both of his roommates. Mick is a LovableJock who eats a lot and has an aggressive streak, and Eddie is a rebellious TroubledButCute bad-boy. Fabian, meanwhile, is sweet and shy and physically weak.
* ShortLivedLeadership: Following Nina's departure in Season 3, Fabian took over as the unofficial leader of Sibuna. However, once Eddie and KT joined in, Fabian stepped down to give the role to Eddie due to him being [[TheChosenOne the Osirian]].
* SoreLoser: He was very irritated that Mara had won the valedictorian role instead of him. He spent much of ''Touchstone of Ra'' complaining about it, being a bit rude to her in conversation and feeling like he'd deserved it for all the work he's done.
* TheSmartGuy: He's the smartest of everyone officially in Sibuna, solving a majority of the puzzles. In ''The Touchstone Of Ra'', he truly believed he'd be chosen as the valedictorian.
* TookALevelInBadass: Fabian was the NiceGuy who was also an ExtremeDoormat. He eventually started becoming much more assertive, virtually attacking anyone who wrongs him or Nina and proving himself much tougher than he seemed at first. He even won the school dodgeball tournament against the rival team, who had obliterated the rest of his team before.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In the third season, having gotten over his ExtremeDoormat phase, he got rather aggressive and paranoid. He was distrustful of KT and Eddie, and roped Patricia into his paranoia, which causes a lot of tension even after KT and Eddie joined Sibuna. He rejected Joy in an uncharacteristically harsh way, after several episodes of mostly ignoring and neglecting her. While he was still fundamentally the same nice guy underneath, he had a lot more edge this season. It carried into ''Touchstone of Ra'', where he spent half of the movie bitter and jealous over Mara being the valedictorian.
* UngratefulBastard: He tended to be like this towards Joy in season 3, where she tried to help him and cheer him up with Sibuna, only to snap at her that "Sibuna can't exist without Nina", or ignore her attempts altogether.

!!'''Patricia Williamson'''

[[caption-width-right:300:"Where's Joy?"]]

Joy's best friend and roommate; spends her time trying to uncover the secrets behind her disappearance, and eventually teams up with Sibuna, helping to solve the mysteries of each season.
----
* AbsurdPhobia: Apparently, she has a fear of ''feet'', contrasting the other Sibuna member's more grounded or understandable fears (bugs, small spaces, and skulls).
* AffectionateNickname: Eddie calls Patricia "Yacker." This started as an insult, but took on a different meaning when they started dating.
* AntiHero: Despite being firmly on the side of good, Patricia is a consistently angry, stubborn, jealous, and temperamental character with a willingness to break the rules and do things the others don't feel comfortable with. She started the show as a rogue on her own personal quest to save Joy, which included actions such as stealing from the teachers and tormenting Nina. Even after joining Sibuna, she becomes their most morally-ambiguous character who will jump at the chance to steal a patient from the hospital, blackmail Jerome, or read KT's diary.
* BadassInDistress: When Patricia gets kidnapped by Rufus, she still manages to keep being the strong person she is and does everything she can to escape, from leaving a clue behind when she was taken to trying to knock out the villain. Despite this, it is her friends who end up rescuing her. (After two of them have to be saved themselves after a first failed rescue attempt, anyway.) Immediately following her rescue Patricia goes on to furiously blackmail one of the teachers into telling the secret about her missing friend.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Eddie. Everyone in the house could see the two of them had some attraction to each other, despite the fact that all they did was argue and pull pranks on each other.
* BullyTurnedBuddy: Patricia relentlessly tormented Nina when she first arrived at the school, on the assumption that Nina was responsible for her friend's disappearance. When she began to cool down, though, she willingly started working with Nina and the rest of Sibuna for help, even calling Nina in a time of need. From there, their relationship solidified and they became very close friends who were always shown hanging out together or helping each other.
* CassandraTruth: Though she doesn't know all the details, she knows something bad has happened to Joy-- she even hears Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Andrews discussing how they have to keep her from ever finding out what it was-- and is the only one who continues to pursue it while the rest of Anubis house treat her like a conspiracy theorist and the teachers gaslight her.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She is ''not'' happy about KT and Eddie spending time together, nor was she happy about him spending any time with Mara. She even showed signs of this in a non-romantic sense, becoming jealous when Fabian became Nina's friend instead of hers.
* ConspiracyTheorist: She's the only one in the House to suspect that something wasn't right about Joy's disappearance, and that the teachers and the police were in on it. Unusually for this trope, she was right.
* DeadpanSnarker: She's extremely sarcastic no matter who she's talking to or why. It's her primary mode of conversation with most people, and people don't expect her to be polite at any point.
* DefrostingIceQueen: In season one, she's a rather stubborn and hot-headed character even when she joins Sibuna, and remains as such for most of the season. However, making or regaining her friends, going through danger with said friends, and eventually falling for Eddie has started to warm her up, making her more open and warm in the next two seasons.
* DemotedToComicRelief: Patricia is a major character in season 1, with her Joy subplot being a major focal point and her character being played seriously, despite her DeadpanSnarker tendencies being relatively funny. Come season 2, the Joy plot has been resolved and she shifts from the show's deuteragonist to a comedic secondary character. Though still involved in the mystery, her flaws and scenes were mostly PlayedForLaughs, her major subplot is centered around her BelligerentSexualTension with Eddie, and she has less involvement in the Sibuna plot this time around. Season 3 balances it a bit; while some of her comedic traits remain, she's more important to the plot than in season 2 and is treated more seriously.
* DevilInPlainSight: At least when she becomes a sinner. She tricked the others into believing the sinner was KT, while her [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness out of character attitude]] should have suggested otherwise, such as by being noticeably more emotional and claiming that KT managed to ''drag her'' to the Gatehouse.
* DislikesTheNewGuy: Tends to really dislike the new kid who joins the House each season. It's for different reasons each time, however, and typically personal ones. With Nina, she believed she was responsible for causing the disappearance of her best friend, Joy. With Eddie, it was a case of hatred turned BelligerentSexualTension. And, with KT...she was worried about Eddie liking her. Usually, the other house members find her attitude to be irrational and pointlessly mean, and it tends to cause some problems. She ends up getting over it in the middle of each season and becomes very close to the person she once couldn't stand.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She and Joy are goofing around and being best friends; she makes Joy fall over onto Fabian for the sake of a picture.
* FieryRedhead: She has red hair (different shades through the seasons) and she's very short-tempered. She's an interesting variation, though, since she has great self control, plays the [[DefrostingIceQueen cold-rational]] type between her rather emotional friends, and can be cunning. Her hair being a dark shade of red would fit her very particular variation.
* FoodSlap: Her favorite form of heat-of-the-moment revenge, to the point where simply grabbing a drink makes the other characters nervous. She poured water on Nina and Amber in season one, poured milk on Eddie in season 2, ''threw'' milk at KT in season 3 and then later dumped juice on Willow's head. ''Touchstone of Ra'' played with the gag by having the other characters stop her from soaking any of the new kids.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: PlayedWith. Patricia seems like she'd be the more down to Earth one, being the DeadpanSnarker and a bit more responsible than her rather emotional friends, while Piper seems like she'd be the naive and foolish one. However, when they actually interact, Patricia's impulsive and mischievous nature becomes much more obvious in comparison to her much calmer, nicer sister, making Piper the responsible one and Patricia the foolish one.
* HairTriggerTemper: She's made upset very easily, and stays that way for a while afterward. Some examples of triggers include accidentally getting her clothes dirty, hanging out with her boyfriend, and things in general not going her way.
* HatesWearingDresses: Played with; Patricia wears dark-colored, tomboyish dresses to every school dance event, but hated wearing a frilly pink one in Touchstone of Ra, which she wore only because Sophia thought Eddie would like it.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Patricia is a hot-headed, blunt, and often rather rude character who can very easily end up with a grudge for very petty reasons. However, she's also an extremely loyal friend who cares deeply for the people around her and will drop the attitude when someone needs her help, showing a much softer and more empathetic side.
* KickTheDog: Kicked it repeatedly as a sinner to hammer in how evil she was. It was most notable in her interactions with KT, who she chose to isolate and torment; she'd even thrown away her food in one instance, essentially condemning her to starvation while locked in her room.
* KidDetective: Expected, as she is a part of Sibuna, considering they all have to look for clues to find the treasure. She's a teenager solving a mystery, and does even better than the adults.
* TheLancer: She's the AntiHero to Nina's [[TheHero Hero]], and is the most independent member of Sibuna, having been in her own mystery before joining. She also fits this role in the third season Sibuna as well, where she plays off Eddie in a very similar way. Despite having an opposing personality, though, she's very loyal to the cause and her friends, and Nina and Eddie both rely on her a lot.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine:
** Nina and Amber are light, being sweet, kind, and warm-hearted, whereas Patricia and Joy are both dark, being much more rebellious, mischievous, and {{Anti Hero}}ic in comparison.
** With her twin sister Piper they play this quite straight: Goth, independent tough-cookie Patricia is the dark to sweet, docile, dependant Piper's light.
* MistakenForCheating: Eddie begins to believe towards the end of season 2 that Patricia is seeing someone else because of how often she disappears without telling him why, and he suspects it might be Alfie. He eventually follows her, Fabian and Alfie when they leave [[ItMakesSenseInContext for the barn]] and finds out the truth.
* NonconformistDyedHair: Downplayed in season 1. While her hair isn't technically dyed so much as she uses brightly-colored clip-on hair-streaks, it's another way of marking her as the tough, alternative "goth pixie" who stands in contrast to the rest of The House, such as being Nina's {{Foil}} and Sibuna's independent, anti-heroic Lancer.
* NonUniformUniform: Her typical outfit includes an untucked shirt, a blazer with rolled-up sleeves and combat boots.
* OnlySaneWoman: While Patricia was driven crazy and treated like a freak in season 1, and her first treatment of Nina was definitely not something to approve, it was totally natural to get frustrated and anxious when her best friend disappeared and no one cared to really help. She suspected something was going on, and she was sadly right. After she joins Sibuna, she mostly acts in a maturing and rational way, neutralizing her ''more'' emotional friends.
* OutOfCharacterAlert: Patricia being polite over the phone was enough to let everyone know that she wasn't alone.
* PolarOppositeTwins: Patricia is the bold, [[TomBoy tomboyish]], defiant and rude one; Piper is highly talented in piano, very sweet and polite, and much less inclined to make big moves out of fear of failure than her {{Determinator}} sister is. It's pretty obvious when you compare their crushes--Patricia likes JerkWithAHeartOfGold Eddie, while Piper likes the NiceGuy ClassClown Alfie.
* ProperlyParanoid: Insists in season 1 that the teachers have done something bad to Joy and that the police are in on it as well, and though nobody believes her at first, she is proven to be right.
* ScholarshipStudent: Season 3 reveals that she's at the school as part of a "Candy" scholarship program. Of course, ''Mr.Sweet'' was behind the scholarship, and only brought her to the school because she's a descendant.
* TookALevelInKindness: She was originally a total bitch to Nina, but, after learning to trust her, became much nicer, despite still being rather tough and sarcastic. Even in other seasons, when she finds new people to hate, she never goes to the same level she did for Nina, showing she did in fact change.
* {{Tomboy}}:
** She's stubborn and {{Goth}}, never backs down from her problems, has a HairTriggerTemper, is brash and rude, and is often called a [[WitchWithACapitalB 'witch']] by the other members in her House. Also, everyone else is afraid of her, she used to play sports, namely soccer, and in the movie, the only reason she wore a frilly pink dress was because Sophia thought Eddie would like it.
** In "House of Fronts/House of Keepers," she takes offense when Eddie implies that she might be too "ladylike" for American football.
---> '''Eddie:''' ''(before showing her how to play American football)'' You ready? This game is not for ladies.
---> '''Patricia:''' Uh, hey, I am ''not'' a lady.
---> '''Eddie:''' Yeah, you're right. ''(runs at her to tackle her, football-style)''
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She is the {{Tomboy}} to all the other girls' GirlyGirl. It's most obvious when she's compared with [[TheDitz Amber]] and Joy, but one can still see it even when she's with [[{{Geek}} Mara]] and Nina, who have their own tomboy qualities but remain much girlier than Patricia. One bit where the tomboyishness of Patricia as compared to the girliness of the other girls in the House of Anubis is really highlighted is after Amber leaves in Season 3 and KT suggests that they use Amber's clothes to give themselves makeovers. Joy and Mara are thrilled by this idea, but Patricia is annoyed by it.
-->'''KT:''' You know what we need?
-->'''Patricia:''' A road trip to Mexico with the wind in our hair and the law on our tails!
--> ''(Everyone laughs)''
-->'''Mara:''' ''(laughing)'' No!
-->'''KT:''' Since Amber left us all of her stuff, I figured...it's makeover o' clock! ''(Patricia groans)'' Come on! What have we got to lose? Might be fun.
-->'''Patricia:''' Or excruciating.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She is close friends with {{GirlyGirl}}s like Joy and Amber, seems to have an interest in fashion, and is seen in [[TheMovie "The Touchstone Of Ra"]] wearing a dress -- while she only did it to impress Eddie and tended to complain about it, she was also worried about going into the cellar because the dress could get ruined. She then added, "[[ICantBelieveImSayingThis Did I really]] [[LampshadeHanging just say that?]]"
* TownGirls: The hot-headed, tomboyish Butch to Nina's level-headed Neither and Amber's naive Femme.
* {{Tsundere}}: Toward Eddie. She admitted liking Eddie to Joy, but whenever she tries to tell Eddie this, it comes out as an insult.
-->'''Joy:''' Just tell him you like him!
-->'''Patricia:''' I can't! I mean, I want to say, 'Eddie, I like you, I think you're cute' and all that stuff, but by the time it gets to here ''(points to her mouth)'' it comes out as, 'Get out of my face, Eddie, you freak!'
-->'''Joy:''' Yeah, you say that a lot...
* TheUnapologetic: She openly refuses to apologize to Eddie about accidentally spilling his father secret to the school, as she didn't intend to do it and was offended that he thought she would. It gets to the point where she can't even apologize to him for the sake of a Sibuna mission.

A pretty, ditzy female student, who befriends Nina and starts Sibuna. She starts off the series dating Mick.
----
* AllTakeAndNoGive: Amber and Alfie's relationship in the beginning of season 2 was like this; Amber had an entire list of criteria Alfie had to meet before he'd even have a chance at being her boyfriend, and then she proceeded to push him around until he got sick of dating her.
* AlphaBitch: Amber temporarily strayed into this territory when she and Mara were competing for the student representative position. Due to her jealousy over Mara and Mick's relationship, Amber became quite mean to Mara, and tried to use her popularity, beauty, and role on the cheerleading-team to win, mocking Mara's genuine effort to win due to her brains and vision.
* BettyAndVeronica: The popular Veronica to Mara's brainy Betty.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Towards Mick at first. She's not thrilled that Mara likes Mick and this causes a rift in their friendship. But she later helps Mick win Mara back when Mara breaks up with him because he bribed the vote counter to ensure that Mara won.
* CloudCuckoolander: She's usually got her head in the clouds and is a bit ditzy, often going off track or getting easily confused because of her own interpretation of things- such as her line about trying to dream about Music/JustinBieber, but instead dreaming of "just a beaver".
* DumbBlonde: While blonde and beautiful, she doesn't seem very smart, and is perceived this way by many people. She even goes so far as to almost reveal Sibuna's plan to Mr. Winkler.
--> '''Victor:''' She doesn't have two brain cells to rub together!
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She is talking on her phone, during class, asking her father to give her an extension on her credit card. She then switches to fawning over Mick as soon as he walks in.
* GeniusDitz: Amber isn't very good with academics and tends to have her head in the clouds, but she's smart about the stuff she cares about. This means that she has a streak of coming up with good ideas for Sibuna, excels at fashion, and takes a small level in intelligence while struck with her age curse.
* {{Flanderization}}: Her ditziness was definitely played up in Season 2-- forcing Alfie to go through a ton of work to be her boyfriend, wearing wedges when the Sibunas had to practice walking through spiderweb, not knowing the meaning of the term "[[TheMole Mole]]"...she was a ditz in Season 1, but ''wow''.
* TheHeart: She's the girliest member of Sibuna, and is also the glue that holds them together- naming the club in Season 1, bringing Patricia and Alfie back in Season 2, and officially bringing the club back together before she left in Season 3.
* HiddenDepths: Revealed to be good at ping pong; as in a champion for three years straight. More importantly, she's also come up with some pretty good ideas during the search for the treasure in the first two seasons.
* OvernightAgeUp: Happens to Amber after she is cursed by Senkhara. She is cursed with aging, and one morning, wakes up looking like an elderly woman, with wrinkles and gray hair and all.
* PutOnABus: Goes to a prestigious fashion school halfway into Season 3.
* ScratchyVoicedSenior: Downplayed, when Amber is struck with an aging curse; her voice changes subtly along with her appearance after an OverNightAgeUp, and becomes much more soft and crackly. As soon as the curse is lifted, her voice goes back to normal.
* ShipperOnDeck: A ''huge'' supporter of Nina and Fabian being together. From making a "Fabina" scrapbook as soon as she believes they're dating, to making the two of them prom king and queen, to getting ''furious'' when Joy tried to get in the way of their relationship, she was highly devoted to the two of them being together.
* SpoiledSweet: Amber has plenty of moments where she's selfish, but for the most part, she's a loyal friend, one of the least mean of the Anubis residents, and just generally a sweetheart.
* TownGirls: The girly, naive Femme to Nina's calm, neutral Neither and Patricia's fiery, tomboy Butch.

Anubis House's resident jokester, and Jerome's best friend. He has a crush on Amber.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Alfie may be the ClassClown, but he's no pushover. When he cares about something, he's a force to be reckoned with, such as shouting at his friends when they weren't taking Amber's disappearance seriously or provoking Fabian's sinner and getting away with it.
* BigEater: Not only does he always eat--he eats ''a lot''. And it's rather messy, too. He's the one who once almost ditched Sibuna to eat Trudy's cookies instead while the students were under lock down and not allowed to eat anything Victor didn't allow them to.
* ButtMonkey: He's sometimes the butt of his friends jokes, has been pranked numerous times by his best friend, was locked in the cellar, nearly died from poisoning, de-aged/shrunk, was pushed around by his girlfriend, would have died at the end of season 1 if Fabian didn't switch the elixir, and the list goes on.
* ClassClown: He goofs off and gets in trouble all the time, being known for being a comedic goofball who almost never takes anything seriously, especially class work.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Alfie's the ClassClown and believes in things like aliens and zombies, but on occasion his silliness comes in handy. For instance, one of his planned zombie hideout places was perfect for moving an unconscious Robert Frobischer-Smythe into to perform the ceremony. Also, his magic skills have come in handy a few times.
* DoggedNiceGuy: To Amber. He'd spent the entire first season and the beginning of season two pining for her and treating her like a queen to win her affection while she ignored and rejected his advances.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He shows Jerome his newest plan to get Amber to notice him, which involves a fake hand.
* ExpelledFromEveryOtherSchool: It's an off-hand comment, but he claims that he can't stay at the camera protest with the other students because his parents would kill him for "being kicked out of yet another school".
* FountainOfYouth: He suffers from this as a result of Senkhara's curse, de-aging until he became a baby.
* GiveGeeksAChance: Despite being the resident ClassClown StageMagician obsessed with aliens, zombies, and pranks, not only gets to date the beautiful and popular Amber, but gets two other love interests over the course of the series, neither of whom are nearly as geeky as him.
* IntentionalHeartbreaker: After becoming a sinner, he casually and callously broke up with Willow, relishing in her pain and heartbreak. He then praised Jerome for doing the same to Joy.
* KickTheDog: He did his very early in his time as a sinner. Right after being turned, he began taunting Willow and broke up with her, then proceeded to flirt with Mara and Joy directly in front of her, as she was crying. Made even worse by the fact that their relationship was possibly the healthiest on the show up to that point, and Willow has always been one of the nicest people on the show, period.
* NerdsAreNaive: Alfie is the resident geek, who's obsessed with things like aliens and zombies, and tends to hyper-fixate on those things to the point of annoying the rest of the house. He's also clueless about romance, as shown by his attempts to win Amber over, where he can't tell if the better gift would be "flowers" or "an adoption certificate for a baby vulture". Additionally, he tends to be a pretty big pushover who Jerome easily manipulates into everything from "getting embarrassed" to "becoming TheMole", naively trusting his "best friend" despite being repeatedly pranked and tricked. He does become savvier over time though, and by season 3, has not only won over three love interests with his kindness and talents, but has become aware of Jerome's schemes and [[AntiAdvice actively avoids falling for his "advice"]].
* NiceGuy: Despite his interest in pranks and teasing his friends, Alfie is otherwise one of the nicest characters in the House. He very readily puts his joking nature aside to help people out, and he gets along a lot more easily with people compared to the far more abrasive Jerome. Part of the reason he gets into Sibuna is because ''[[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Patricia]]'' felt bad for leaving him out because he'd been so kind to her.
* NoRespectGuy: While bumbling he does help out the team in the search for insert-macguffin-here but either doesn't get much credit or isn't brought up again. Heck, even when it's just being a good gesture regardless, it's forgotten about quick.
* NotHimself: When he and Fabian become sinners, everyone is scared because they are acting like total jerks, when in reality they are two of the nicest people in the house.
* ObsessedWithFood
-->'''Amber:''' Alfie, how could you possibly be eating at a time like this?
-->'''Alfie:''' I always eat when I'm scared. Or nervous. Or... happy, come to think of it.
-->'''Amber:''' Or any day with a 'y' in it...
* PluckyComicRelief: Alfie is there to goof around and add some levity to the show. This is PlayedWith in later seasons, though, since he gets just as deep into the action as everyone else instead of being a funny side character.
* ThePrankster: Alfie and Jerome spend a majority of their free-time messing with their housemates, from swapping Mick's sports-gear with Amber's clothing, or pretending to be zombies in an effort to scare Sibuna. This dies down a little in the next two seasons, where their schemes tend to be more for Jerome's personal gain and less about messing with their friends.
* PretendingToBeOnesOwnRelative: After Alfie is [[FountainOfYouth cursed to de-age]], he turns back into an eight-year-old boy with the mind of normal Alfie. Because of this, he must pretend to be his own younger brother, which he uses mostly to mess with his best friend Jerome and learn things the normal Alfie wouldn't be allowed to know.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The Sensitive Guy to JerkWithAHeartOfGold Jerome. He's sweet, emotional and quite the pushover, while Jerome is a lot tougher and is the leader of the duo.
* ScholarshipStudent: Season 3 reveals that he's at the school as part of a "Candy" scholarship program. Of course, ''Mr.Sweet'' was behind the scholarship, and only brought him to the school because he's a descendant.
* TooDumbToFool: While he is more of the class clown than a complete fool, he is rarely taken seriously by the others. However, he usually solves problems and figures things out much quicker than anyone else in Sibuna, mostly in season 3. The others tend to shoot down his ideas, only to find out later that he was correct.
* WellDoneSonGuy: His parents, particularly his father, look down on him so much that he tries so hard to impress them when they come over. It doesn't quite work, because his father instead heaps praise on [[

A new American student in Season 2. Seems to be a bit of a troublemaker, not to mention being ridiculously flirtatious.
----
* BelligerentSexualTension: Despite spending his time mocking, arguing and pranking Patricia, he had a serious crush on her, and even ended up admitting that his bad attitude towards her was a "forcefield" he had to lower to express himself.
* BigEater: He is often found making big, messy platters of food like spaghetti-bolognese hoagies or a huge pancake stack.
* BrilliantButLazy: Starts off seeming like he's on the low end of the IQ scale, but then later reveals himself to speak fluent French, implying a certain level of intelligence. Most likely, the reason he doesn't post the same kind of grades as Mara is because he slacks off, cuts class, and doesn't care about his schoolwork.
* BookDumb: Played with He speaks French well enough to see through Patricia's prank [[note]] She gave him a box of chocolate covered worms from a French company, thinking that the stupid American wouldn't be able to tell what they were[[/note]] and he even jokingly calls Ms. Andrews a "menteuse" [[note]] French for "liar", complete with the correct gender variation[[/note]], but he doesn't know the meaning of the word "meritocracy". [[note]]A form of government where a person's role is decided by their level of skill or merit[[/note]]
* ChekhovsGunman: He appears in Season 2 as a new student from America and a LoveInterest for Patricia, but in the season finale, he turns out to be the Osirian, counterpart and guardian to The ChosenOne.
* TheChosenOne: At the end of Season 2, he turns out to be The Osirian, the one destined to protect the descendant of Amneris.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Downplayed; Eddie is the symbolic darkness to Nina's light, and is edgy and rebellious compared to her more sweet and patient nature. However, he's no less heroic than she is and dedicates himself to protecting his friends.
* DeadpanSnarker: Eddie is extremely sarcastic. His very first scene has him in SnarkToSnarkCombat with Patricia, and he has several moments of dry wit throughout the series.
* DisappearedDad: His turned out to be Mr. Sweet, the school's headmaster. He left when Eddie was little, leaving him devastated, and inspiring his bad-boy attitude.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: While his first scene is just him getting out of a taxi and looking annoyed, his next scene is good at establishing his personality. He's caught snoring on the couch in the school lounge and then immediately gets into an argument with Patricia, in which he refuses to give his name and teases her until she storms off.
* ExpelledFromEveryOtherSchool: Kicked out of several schools in America before coming to the boarding school, and has no fear of being expelled from the boarding school either- when he actually ''is'' expelled, his complaint is that Mara was expelled, too.
* ForeignExchangeStudent: Eddie is an American student coming to the British boarding school, in the middle of the school year, for being kicked out of schools in the United States.
* HatesTheirParent: Eddie resented Mr. Sweet for abandoning him as a child, revealing that after years of longing for him, he eventually grew bitter. Because of this, he intentionally stirs up trouble in school, and tries to goad his father into punishing him- only for Mr. Sweet to intentionally ''not'' punish him, making him even more resentful. Eventually, though, Eddie began to forgive him, and their relationship, though still distant and awkward, stopped being so poor.
* HiddenDepths: He's fluent in French, compared to coming off as a slacker jerkass.
* InsultOfEndearment: Eddie initially calls Patricia "Yacker" as an insult, but it becomes an AffectionateNickname when they start dating.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Introduced as a rebellious and snarky bad-boy who even ''Patricia'' thinks is a jackass, Eddie quickly shows himself to actually have a good heart. He cares about his friends, ''really'' cares about Patricia, and ultimately just wants to help everyone.
* TheLeader: He's voted as the leader of Sibuna in season 3, due to being the action-oriented Osirian. He's an impulsive and active leader type who tends to make decisions in the moment, while taking on the responsibility of trying to keep his friends safe.
* MistakenForCheating: Patricia starts to believes Eddie was cheating on her twice season 3.
** In the beginning, she and Fabian believe that Eddie and Nina had a summer romance and that's why Nina didn't come back, because of some emails they found on Eddie's computer and the fact that he had Nina's locket. It turned out that Nina gave him the locket because he might need it, and the emails were about the whole Chosen One and Osirian thing.
** Later on, Miss Denby tricks Patricia into believing Eddie is cheating on her by placing fake messages on his laptop and manipulating her into reading them. It doesn't get resolved too easily, as Patricia turns into a sinner for getting upset over this, which was the whole plan.
* NewTransferStudent: He transfers to the school in the second season.
* {{Psychometry}}: Eddie's visions manifest when he touches something in or associated with Anubis House, giving him important information. Most of the time, they're pretty intrusive and confusing, and he rarely ever [[PowerIncontinence controls or expects them]].
* PowerLossDepression: Downplayed. Having lost his Osirian powers in a HeroicSacrifice, Eddie is the only student not shown having fun at the graduation party. He initially refuses Patricia's offer to dance, pointing out she hates dancing and that he isn't a "superhero" anymore when she calls him one. However, he does end up dancing with her as the series ends.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The Manly Man to dorky ExtremeDoormat Fabian's Sensitive Guy; while he's a snarky rebel that doesn't show too many emotions, Fabian is a lot more sensitive and emotional.
* {{Tsundere}}: Pretty heavy on the Tsun toward Patricia. Eddie refers to being deredere towards Patricia as "lowering his force field" when he's trying to get Patricia to admit her feelings towards him. When she stays tsuntsun, he "vwooshes" it back up.

A new student in Season 3. She takes Nina's old room when Nina doesn't return, and came to the school with a mission from her grandpa.
----
* AloneAmongTheCouples: At the end of season 3, KT is the only person not paired off with anyone. She doesn't mind, though.
* ForeignExchangeStudent: She's from the United States, like Nina and Eddie before her, starting at the beginning of term just as it was discovered Nina wasn't coming back.
* NewTransferStudent: She's the new student of season 3, joining the rest of the Anubis students at the beginning of the term.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Her real name is Kara Tatianna, but no one calls her that, not even Victor.

Anubis House's resident athlete, Fabian's roommate, and Amber's boyfriend.
----
* BackForTheFinale: Mick returns in the last episode of Season 2, to surprise Mara. His actor also cameos in the last scene of "House of Return", though his presence isn't really pointed out.
* BigEater: Even the actors acknowledged Mick's tendency to eat- his eating scenes are written ''in the script'', and as such, he was nearly always scarfing down food. Apparently the actor isn't much better, either.
* DemotedToExtra: His LoveTriangle plot with Amber and Mara was a focus in Season 1, but he's not as much of a focus in season 2. He's even gone for half of the second season, and then he doesn't show up at all in season 3.
* DumbJock: He's a talented and determined athlete, but not a great student, even as he does try his best to study for the sake of becoming a doctor.
* DumbBlonde: Mick is the blond jock, known for being good at sports, but not good at school work. It's shown that when he really tries he can do well, but struggles a lot.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Comes into class after working out, sweaty and carrying a basketball.
* LovableJock: He's a masculine jock, but he's also extremely sweet and friendly, best exemplified through his friendship with the nerdy Fabian- despite their differences, they're such close friends that Fabian was devastated when he left.
* PutOnABus: He goes to a private school in Australia for the second half of the second season.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The Manly Man to dorky ExtremeDoormat Fabian's Sensitive Guy. Compared to the nerdy and emotional Fabian, Mick is a masculine jock who spends most of his time trying to practice his athletics.

A smart, kind young Anubis student. She's Amber's best friend, but there's some romantic tension between Mara and Mick.
----
* BadLiar: Downplayed, as she doesn't lie ''that'' often, but when Patricia needed her to act as a cover when stealing from Mr.Sweet's office, she made up a story about endangered hedgehogs, struggling even just to keep Mr.Sweet engaged in the discussion. She becomes better at lying later on, but still tends to break down when pressed.
* Betty And Veronica: The Betty to Amber's Veronica in Season 1. [[spoiler: Then the Veronica to Willow's Betty. Then again, the Betty to Joy's Veronica. ]]
* BrainyBrunette: She's the smartest in the House of Anubis, and has dark brown/black hair.
* BeAWhoreToGetYourMan: Mara does a kid-friendly version of this to attract Mick in the first season- she dresses up in rebellious clothes, wears a lot of makeup, and starts to act even snarkier and ruder than Patricia. It's {{subverted}} however, because Mick likes her just the way she is.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's one of kindest character of the show [[GoodIsNotSoft but make her upset and she becomes more threatening than even Patricia or Victor.]]
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She's friendly with Amber in class, but can't stop staring at Mick.
* EleventhHourRanger: Joins Sibuna in "Touchstone of Ra" so they can make use of her smarts.
* GreenEyedMonster: Mara gets jealous when Mick starts getting his sports training from Mrs. Robinson-- and, because of said jealousy, tries to frame the two of them for a TeacherStudentRomance. She later flips out when she thinks that Mick has an Australian girlfriend, and later begins to bully Joy when she finds out that Joy had developed feelings for Jerome... despite that Mara hated Jerome at this point for cheating on her.
* {{Hypocrite}}: She gets angry and breaks up with Mick for trying to cheat for her to win the student rep election, despite the fact she did the exact same thing and tried to cheat for him on a French test earlier in the season before they were together, the latter of which being academic cheating could have gotten Mick expelled. Likewise, she justifies her liking Mick when he's dating Amber by saying Mick and Amber have nothing in common, despite that they're both popular blondes who are less than academically inclined, meanwhile Mara has even less in common with Mick, something she acknowledges and tries to play up in season 2 to get Mick to break up with her.
* LovableNerd: A sweet, humble, friendly girl, who also happens to be a massive nerd that even looks smart compared to ''Fabian''.
* ObliviousToLove: In the majority of the first two seasons, Mara is painfully oblivious to Jerome's crush on her. It gets to where she fake dates him to make her long distance ex jealous, and this exchange occurs:
--> '''Mara:''' Look at these pictures, it looks like you're really in love.
--> '''Jerome:''' ''(staring at her longingly and not listening)'' What?
--> '''Mara:''' I said, you're a really great actor.
* OppositesAttract: First with Mick (when they're together, people refer to them as "the mathlete and the athlete"), then with resident ManipulativeBastard and JerkWithAHeartOfGold Jerome. It's ultimately subverted when she ends up with the equally nerdy Fabian.
* ShortLivedLeadership: After a small competition with Joy, Mara is given the role as head editor of the school's new news site. She gets to work on writing a piece on Vera, which quickly turns into an expose when she realizes Vera's background information is falsified and shady. This leads to a hearing in which Vera tricks everyone into believing Mara lied. While Mara's expulsion was immediately taken back by Mr. Sweet, she was fired from the paper, and Joy got the position.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Her first time was in the middle of the first season, when she was angry at [[LovableJock Mick]] calling her boring and re-invented herself for a few days, becoming much ruder and more careless. She also tried to expel him. In the third season, though, it was [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Jerome]] cheating on her that made her grow into a jerkass, doing whatever she can to get [[RevengeBeforeReason revenge on him.]] It was fine at first, but then she decided to have Joy pretend to fall in love with him, then break his heart in front of the school. After finding out Joy really did fall for Jerome, she flipped, and turned on her. Only in the end did she calm down and become a better friend. However, this was somewhat justified, as she still had feelings for Jerome and was really heartbroken, and felt betrayed by Joy.
* {{Yandere}}: Mara is usually a nice nerdy girl. In a relationship, she can be a really sweet, supporting girlfriend...but if you dismiss her, or even worse, cheat on her, she will do something to ''destroy'' you.

A manipulative prankster, and Alfie's best friend.
----
* AntiHero: Jerome is a very selfish, sneaky, and greedy character who tends to be looking out for himself. Despite this, when it comes down to actual danger, he always sides with his friends and does his best to help the people around him. As a result of these things, he's usually stuck having to do shady things for good reasons. A prime example is in season 2, where he works for Rufus in an effort to save the kidnapped Trudy ''and'' stop Rufus from hurting both Jasper and Fabian.
* BettyAndVeronica: The aloof, snarky, rebellious Veronica to Mick's sweet-natured Betty in the fight for Mara's affections.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Despite getting into fights with Poppy and picking on her, he loves her deep down. At one point, he tried to hide letters from their father in prison, trying to protect her from the truth. Later, when Rufus threatens to kidnap her too, he panics and begs him not to.
* BirdsofaFeather: With Joy. Becomes more evident as he and Joy spend more time together-- they're both characters who have made a lot of mistakes and are often defined by their peers for these mistakes, but have also done very selfless things for the sake of their peers in big moments that the rest of their classmates always seem to forget. As Joy tells Jerome: "I know you want to get back at her, embarrass her like she did you... but when you get the chance to get your own back, don't do it-- take it from a girl who makes everything worse."
* BrutalHonesty
-->'''Patricia:''' Sorry, I bet I've been driving you all crazy.\
'''Everyone:''' No.\
'''Jerome:''' Yes.
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: His dad was in prison and he always thought he just left. This left a bitter feeling for a while, until they finally reconciled, with his dad making it clear he does ''want'' to be in his children's life.
* DeadpanSnarker: Jerome is quite snarky, known to respond with blunt comments when politeness would be expected and to openly mock his housemates with his commentary.
* DemotedToExtra: After his highly active role in seasons 1 and 2, Jerome's biggest role in Season 3 was just a romance subplot, being uninvolved in the mystery plot, despite being one of the four descendants. He was even less important in the Touchstone of Ra, being one of only two Anubis students who weren't involved in the mystery plot.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He is scamming a student out of his money for a cheat sheet before joking around and scheming with Alfie.
* FreudianExcuse: Jerome's mischievous behavior is partially explained by the fact that his parents left him at House Of Anubis to get rid of him, and that his father in particular disappeared on him and his sister.
* TheGadfly: Particularly in season 1, he starts drama for no reason other than because ItAmusedMe.
* HatesTheirParent: Jerome initially hated his father for all of the mistakes he'd made, which had eventually landed him in prison and forced him to abandon Jerome and his daughter, Poppy. Even when they reunited, Jerome was almost too angry to actually speak with him, even comparing him negatively to ''[[Franchise/StarWars Darth Vader]]''. However, when they actually began to talk, and when it was clear that John ''wanted'' to be a good parent, Jerome cooled down, and their relationship grew strong.
* HiddenDepths: In the beginning of the show he is shown as nothing more than a [[TheChessmaster manipulative jerk]] who will even trick his best friend into humiliating himself for a cheap laugh. However, later on he reveals a softer, more sensitive side to Mara Jaffray, including the truth that his [[ParentalAbandonment family abandoned him when he was five years old.]] He reverts back to his old self after Mara and her old boyfriend get back together, to the point where he helps the antagonist, but even then his hidden depths are still showing as he proves to be more of a misunderstood [[AntiHero Anti-Hero]] than the minor antagonist he was originally portrayed as.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Jerome is known for being manipulative, greedy, selfish and rude to everyone around him, including his best friend Alfie, who he has gleefully mistreated on more than one occasion. But when the chips are down, he proves he does care about his housemates, and in Season 2, he stopped at nothing to help his father. The people most prone to making him show his good side are his family and his three love interests Mara, Willow, and Joy, as his interactions with them reveal a sweet inner self that contrasts a lot with his selfish and abrasive persona.
* ManipulativeBastard: He gleefully toys with his housemates at every chance he gets, often just for his own personal amusement or minor gain. He orchestrated a whole scheme to make Mick believe Amber and Alfie were dating, which worked until Fabian caught him in the act. He tricked Alfie into betraying the Sibuna gang for him, by making it seem as though the Sibunas had abandoned him. He even tricked everyone into holding a "Donkey Day", just in an effort to get money.
* ScholarshipStudent: Season 3 reveals that he's at the school as part of a "Candy" scholarship program. The entire reason he was so dedicated to work on the Eclipse project was because his scholarship status was being threatened. Of course, ''Mr.Sweet'' was behind the scholarship, and only brought him to the school because he's a descendant.
* SixthRanger: Jerome technically joins Sibuna for protection from his "boss" [[BigBad Rufus Zeno]]. Joins up with Sibuna again in Season 2 So they could rescue Trudy who had been kidnapped by Rufus.
* TookALevelInKindness: At first manipulative and uncaring, he eventually showed [[HiddenDepths a much better side]] to Mara when she got to know him, and this put him on the path to becoming a better person. Case in point--in the first season, he allied with [[BigBad Rufus]] out of jealousy of Sibuna's closeness. In the second season, he started helping Rufus again--to rescue the kidnapped Trudy and find the stolen gem. He briefly took another [[TookALevelInJerkass level in jerkass]] in season three, though, when he cheated on Mara with Willow.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: Doesn't see why Mara would be with someone as dumb as Mick, while he himself is just as interested and treats her well. He shows much frustration whenever Mara happens to be with Mick and not him.

[[caption-width-right:288:"I don't want to be TheChosenOne, you hear?!"]]

A student who is called away from the school under odd circumstances. Her disappearance is a major part of the plot in Season 1.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: When Joy begins to pursue Fabian in season 2, he finds her annoying and clingy, and is not comfortable with the way she treats Nina. Nevertheless, she tries all season to get him to date her.
* AffectionateNickname: Jerome calls her "Joyless," an appropriate nickname that starts as him poking fun at her, but eventually grows to be something he calls her quite affectionately.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Kind of. She has dark brown hair, and though she is rather extroverted and [[ItsAllAboutMe loves attention]], her cunning nature and insecurities give her shades of this trope.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Jerome -- starts as only invoked in an attempt to seduce him for Mara's revenge plot, but proves to be accurate
** Later becomes the Veronica to Mara's Betty and Jerome's Archie, in Season 3.
* BirdsofaFeather: With Jerome. Becomes more evident as he and Joy spend more time together-- they're both characters who have made a lot of mistakes and are often defined by their peers for these mistakes but have also done very selfless things for the sake of their peers in big moments that the rest of their classmates always seem to forget. As Joy tells Jerome: "I know you want to get back at her, embarrass her like she did you... but when you get the chance to get your own back, don't do it-- take it from a girl who makes everything worse."
* BrainyBrunette: She has dark brown hair and is very smart and cunning.
* ClingyJealousGirl: To Fabian in Season 2. All she wanted was to be with him and get Nina out of the picture, which caused her to pull such tricks as wearing Nina's mask to get a kiss from Fabian, to writing slander about Nina under Mara's writing alias, all out of jealousy.
* CowardiceCallout: DoubleSubverted late into season 2. Sibuna [[SixthRanger and Joy]] are playing a game of senet to reach [[MacGuffin the mask]] and rescue Nina, who got captured early on. Tempers begin to flare up as Fabian starts making decisions against Joy's back, despite her being the supposed leader of the senet game. After his refusal to follow one of Joy's orders gets both Patricia and Amber captured at once, the two of them have a brief, insult-laden argument where Joy, among other things, calls him a coward. After they patch things up and win the game, Fabian admits to her that he ''has'' been a coward -- not in playing the game, but in confronting their troubled and increasingly awkward relationship throughout the season. Notably, this insult is the only one he acknowledges during his apology.
* DemotedToExtra: Spent most of Season 3 involved in a romance subplot unrelated to the main mystery at hand, despite being one of the four descendants. He was even less important in the Touchstone of Ra, being one of only two Anubis students who weren't involved in the mystery plot.
* DontYouDarePityMe: Joy went through a phase of this during the beginning of season 3, when she was trying to get over Fabian and re-invent herself, and found Mara and Willow's sympathy to be annoying.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She and Patricia are goofing around and being best friends. Joy is affectionate towards Fabian, but teases his choice in literature.
* GaspOfLife: In the season 2 finale she gets hit by Nina's lightning and temporarily dies. She's brought back by Victor and upon her resurrection breaks into a coughing fit to signal she's awake.
* GreenEyedMonster: Joy is extremely jealous towards Nina, and in her jealousy ends up trying to hurt her, in an effort to take Fabian for herself. Schemes include kissing Fabian while he thinks she's Nina, writing a cruel article, and purposefully making Fabian spend as much time with her as possible while Nina is left out.
* HerOwnWorstEnemy: It's a running theme that Joy is the one standing in her own way, from holding an irrational grudge against Nina to pushing her friends away when they try to help her. She outright admits to Jerome that she makes everything worse.
* HopelessSuitor: Joy pined for Fabian for at least a year before Nina even showed up, and continued to crush on him into early Season 3. Despite this, she never had a chance, being repeatedly rejected in favor of Nina.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: She wanted a normal life during season 1, when she was being held up like a prisoner in her own house and forced to never contact her friends because she was the 'Chosen One'. Despite getting to go back to a normal life afterward, she suffered from the trauma of this for the next two seasons.
* ImmoralJournalist: Briefly became one in season 2, once she became editor of the school news blog, "The Jackal". In an effort to bully Nina out of the school, she posted an anonymous article bashing her for things like skipping class or not visiting her hospitalized grandmother, written to make Nina sound like a bad person. Her other friends called her out on being a poor journalist, especially in comparison to the much more informative and considerate Mara, whose blogging alias was what Joy used in writing the Nina article, allowing her to temporarily take credit for the stuff Mara actually wrote.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Claims that Nina "stole" Fabian from her, even though she and Fabian were never dating. As much as Patricia points this out, Joy continues to insist that Nina stole everything from her, simply because things had changed in the time she was gone. In fairness, this was likely a trauma response directed at the wrong person, as Joy underwent an extremely traumatic experience being kidnapped and when she came back everybody basically ignored what happened to her and her place at Anubis House had been usurped though it was no fault of Nina's.
* IntentionalHeartbreaker: At Mara's convincing, she flirted with and dated Jerome with full intention of breaking his heart in revenge for his cheating. However, she started to actually fall for him, and attempted to convince Mara to stop "Operation Jerome". It didn't work.
* IronicName: It seems that Joy's name will never fit her life, considering she was kidnapped, the boy she loved for a while rejected her constantly and rather harshly, her friends all seemed to like Nina more, and when she finally fell in love again it was ripped away from her at the end. No wonder her nickname is Joyless...
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: In the Season Finale, when she encourages Fabian to go be with Nina, after an entire season of trying to win him over and get Nina out of the picture.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While Joy spends a good chunk of Season 2 being a jealous and petty bully to Nina, and even goes so far as to hurt Mara with no remorse simply to be selfish, she still cared enough to help Fabian rescue Nina, and then perform a HeroicSacrifice.
* PerformanceAnxiety: Despite her outward confidence, she froze up almost completely when sent on stage to do a speech for the exhibition bid. The only thing that got her through it was finding Fabian's poem in her papers, being able to focus on him and not on the pressure, but until then she struggled to focus and speak.
* ScholarshipStudent: Season 3 reveals that she's at the school as part of a "Candy" scholarship program. The entire reason she was so dedicated to work on the Eclipse project was because her scholarship status was being threatened. Of course, ''Mr.Sweet'' was behind the scholarship, and only brought her to the school because she's a descendant.
* ShipperOnDeck: Downplayed; she's in favor of Patricia and Eddie being together, and even tries to give Patricia the necessary advice to properly date him, but doesn't go to any extreme lengths to make it happen.
* ShippingTorpedo: She made no secret of her love for Fabian or her dislike for him and Nina dating, and did whatever she could to get them apart.
* SixthRanger: She was important to the mystery in the first season and was added into Sibuna by the end of season 2 after helping to rescue Nina from under the Senet board. In season 3 she is a full member of the team, but she quits after Fabian breaks her heart.
* TakingTheBullet: Protects Fabian from a Senkahra-possessed Nina hurling a lightning bolt by shoving him out of the way and getting struck, and nearly dies because of it.
* ThereAreNoTherapists: After Joy is kidnapped and held hostage for months and has her entire life abruptly uprooted (Victor even burns her possessions instead of returning them to her father), she's returned to school in season 2 with those responsible for her kidnapping literally still there in positions of authority. Joy goes on to lash out in an obvious response to the untreated trauma she has combined with the fact everyone else in her life went on without her. She shows signs of PTSD that are not explored extensively in the show and even says in season 3, "I really don't like robes, miss. I've had a lot of bad experiences with them." Despite her obvious trauma, she never sees a therapist or has any adult figure even suggest it (likely because most of them except for Trudy were the perpetrators of her trauma or otherwise villainous).
* TookALevelInJerkAss: Joy has been acting like a colossal {{Jerkass}} in Season 2, capped off with writing a vicious attack article about Nina all because of [[GreenEyedMonster jealousy]] over the fact that Fabian loves Nina and not her. (In her words, Nina has "stolen her boyfriend" [[InsaneTrollLogic even though she and Fabian were never dating.]]) If we're to believe Patricia and Fabian, this isn't the way that the Joy they know and love typically acts. She has gotten [[WhattheHellHero called out on it]], by Amber, Jerome and Eddie in front of their entire class, and even Patricia thinks Joy can't continue to re-use her excuse of having been kidnapped last term as to why everyone's so out of sync with her.
* TookALevelInKindness: When she joined Sibuna in the second season, after spending the rest of the time being petty, jealous, and rude to her housemates. She helped them to rescue Nina just because Fabian asked, even though she and Nina were rivals, and then [[HeroicSacrifice took a lightning bolt for Fabian, nearly dying in the process.]]
* TheUnapologetic: When she tries to talk to Nina about the he kiss with Fabian, Nina asks if it's supposed to be her way of saying sorry. Joy responds by saying, "I wasn't going to apologize."

[[caption-width-right:255:"To {{Squee}}, or not to Squee? Squee!"]]

A new Season 3 character from Isis House who soon transfers to Anubis. She's a bit odd, but very friendly.
----
* AscendedFangirl: Kind of. At the beginning of the third season, she's not even a part of Anubis House but hangs out with them anyway because she thinks the people there are so cool. Later in the season, she got to transfer into Anubis House.
* BettyAndVeronica: The Betty to Mara's Veronica, as Jerome is torn between them.
* CloudCuckoolander: She's eccentric and often has her head in the clouds, doing such things as sprinkling things with cypress oil to remove bad energies and raising wild hedgehogs (named after Trudy and Victor).
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: After Victor becomes a Sinner, Willow can immediately sense that something's wrong with him, but her strange way of expressing it only confuses the other students.
* TheDitz: She comes across as ditzy in moments, making random and silly remarks. For instance, she once claimed that pottery was her favorite type of science.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Found in Amber's bedroom, fawning over Anubis House while playing with a prism.
* GenkiGirl: She is VERY energetic, talkative, and easily-excited, at nearly all times. Mara {{lampshades}} this.
-->'''Mara:''' She's just so peppy and upbeat! I should ask her what her secret is.
* HippieName: Downplayed. While not an outright hippie, she's the resident new-age CloudCuckooLander who is into things like auras, mythology, crystals, and essential oils. Fittingly, her name is Willow.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: Miss Denby and Robert Frobisher-Smythe tried to turn her into a sinner, but they couldn't get her to sin, no matter what they tried.
* NewAgeRetroHippie: She claims to be able to [[AuraVision sense "vibes"]] (and, according to her, bad vibes can be removed by sprinkling cypress oil everywhere), and she meditates frequently and loudly, much to her roommate Mara's chagrin.
* {{Squee}}: This is practically her catchphrase, such as the infamous line, "To squee or not to squee? SQUEE!" It shows her as exciteable and upbeat.

[[caption-width-right:255:"You have five minutes precisely, and then I want to hear a pin drop."]]

The guy in charge of the House of Anubis. Definitely creepy and definitely up to something.
----
* BerserkButton: He completely loses it at Alfie in "House of Heiroglyph" when Alfie refers to Corbierre as a "dead crow":
-->'''Victor:''' ''(through gritted teeth)'' Corbierre is a ''raven!''
* BigBad: He seemed like this at first, but this was {{subverted}} at the end of the season finale, where it was implied that he was more ignorant than evil. He just wanted to be immortal and was unaware of the price of that immortality. (He believed that the tipping of the scales of life was symbolic and was genuinely shocked to learn otherwise.)
* BreakTheCutie: This happened to Victor when he was little. After his father gave him a verbal lashing, he broke his friendship with Sarah because he thought she wouldn't tell him any information, such as where the Ankh pieces were.
* CatchPhrase: "You have five minutes precisely, and then I want to hear a pin drop."
* CompanionCube: Corbierre, Victor's stuffed raven, his "pride and joy". He loves it to the point of being devastated when one of the students "kidnapped" it, and speaks to it as if it's alive. Played with too, as it belonged to his father and probably was alive at some point.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He appears out of nowhere, startling Nina, and reprimands her for entering without knocking.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Victor Rodenmaar, despite having had antagonized and pushed Sarah Frobisher-Smythe towards revealing a secret she didn't know, the two were very close [[ChildhoodFriends childhood friends]] and he reacted with genuine grief when she died. He also reacts very strongly when anyone mention his deceased father in a negative light.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: No matter how badly he himself may act towards the students, when they are in danger, he responds protectively over them. For instance, when Alfie is captured in the Senet game, Victor is deeply disturbed by this and says to Vera that harming the students wasn't part of the plan. Another time, he chose to save Joy's life rather than use his last tear of gold for himself.
* EvilFormerFriend: With Sarah. He actually did consider her a friend before, but his father rid him of that notion. He and Rufus ultimately decided to betray her, after they'd become business partners, in order to get the Cup of Ankh.
* FreudianExcuse: Victor actually did see Sarah as a friend at one point, but his father changed all that, threatening to send him to the orphanage if he didn't aid him in getting Sarah's secrets. It turned him into the bitter and nasty man he is in the show.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Despite being the villain, he is proven to really care about the students deep down, when he kicked Vera out for hurting the students and sacrificing his last tear of gold to save a dying Joy Mercer.
* ImmortalitySeeker: Victor and his society all want the secret to eternal life. Victor's father had been after it as well, which meant Victor's basic goal was to finish his father's dream.
* TheKilljoy: He gets very easily annoyed when the students do...well, anything, but especially when they try and have fun. There are several times when he'll walk in on them talking happily amongst themselves and demand they stop being so noisy and get to class, he once temporarily stopped a party just by walking in and glaring at everyone, and the one and only time he was interested in participating in any sort of party, [[spoiler:he was a Sinner trying to trick the students]], and the party was ''still'' considered incredibly dull by literally everyone.
* NobleDemon: Demonstrated on multiple occasions. He may be after immortality and constantly makes the children's lives difficult, but doesn't have any interest in using evil acts to fulfill his goals- even getting upset when Vera showed a willingness to put the kids in unnecessary danger.
* OlderThanHeLooks: Victor is really ninety-five years old in season 1, but looks middle-aged.
* TaxidermyIsCreepy: Victor practices taxidermy and has stuffed animals everywhere in the house. His pride and joy, the raven Corbierre, is by far the creepiest, disturbing the students to no end.
* WellDoneSonGuy: He always wanted to live up to his father's expectations and fulfill his unfinished mission of getting immortality.

The new, handsome teacher at the school who catches the eye of every female in the show. He's suspicious of Joy's disappearance and also seeks to find out the truth. He joins up with Patricia but parts to join in Victor's Society.
----
* AntiVillain: He was only really a villain by way of being a member of the Secret Society and betraying Patricia. Otherwise, he was a very caring and responsible teacher who always seemed confused or frustrated when the other teachers didn't take the safety of the students into account, even defending them on multiple occasions. It was later revealed he only joined the Society because the elixir was the only way to save him from his degenerative illness.
* HeelFaceTurn: He was the only person Patricia trusted to help her find Joy, and after they uncovered a lot of evidence, he confronted Victor...and was converted to the Secret Society, becoming her enemy.
* HotTeacher: The female students certainly think so, being immediately attracted to him on his first day- it helps that he's young and friendly. Amber even had a rather obvious crush on him.
* NobleDemon: Although he joins the Society and thus becomes one of the bad guys, he is still shown to be a generally nice guy. Of course, he only joins the Society because he has a degenerative disease and will die unless he gains immortality by drinking out of the Cup. Mr. Sweet and Ms. Andrews also show themselves to be concerned for the students as well. (Such as when Rufus kidnaps Patricia.)
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Doesn't return in Season 2, and nothing is ever mentioned, leading many to assume he died in between.

The dorky headmaster of the school, as well as the school's science professor. A member of Victor's society.
----

* BumblingDad: He's Eddie's dorky, embarrassing, yet loving, father. As much as he tries, he struggles greatly with being a parent.
* DisappearedDad: Left Eddie, since he was just a child, to focus on his work in England. Eddie had no idea why he left or if he even wanted him, and even after their reunion, it left his son with a lot of insecurities.
* EvilPrincipal: Downplayed. He's the headmaster of the school and TheDragon to Victor Rodenmaar Jr., and thus a member of TheConspiracy to attain immortal life at the expense of the students, but he's actually a good man despite his exterior and mostly just gets bossed around by Victor. He ultimately does a HeelFaceTurn in Season 2, fully subverting this. However, come Season 3, this is double subverted when he comes back to help Victor and Miss Denby complete their ceremony and is turned into a "Sinner".
* GratuitousLatin: He says a lot of stuff in Latin that he could just say in English. [[YouAreTheTranslatedForeignWord Then he says them in English anyway.]]
* GrewASpine: Spent all of the first season and most of the second being bossed around by Victor, mocked by the students, and generally seen as a bumbling oaf. However, halfway through Season 2, he got sick of being mistreated, and outright ''snapped'' at Victor when he tried to give him an order. In Season 3, he's far more independent and assertive, making it clear that his job as "The Seeker" will not be dominated by his partners.
* HeelFaceTurn: After spending an entire season working with Victor, Season 2 had him refuse to help him find the Book of Isis, choosing instead to focus on his duties as a headmaster. However, in season 3, he relapsed into villainy, helping Victor and Denby to complete their ceremony, and then being turned into a sinner, whose only purpose was to spread evil.
* LargeHam: As a sinner, he began to just shout at students for no reason, and delivered over-the-top lines, such as:
--> ''You look like an orangutan!''
* SmartPeopleKnowLatin: He is versed in Latin and routinely spouts Latin phrases, presumably to demonstrate how smart he is.

The kind, hard-working House Mother of Anubis House.
----
* DamselInDistress: In Season 2, she gets captured by Vera, and held captive in a barn, forced to be rescued by the students. She does manage to leave a note hinting that she's in danger, but is otherwise helpless against The Collector.
* NiceGuy: She's extremely kind and motherly to everyone, whether it's caring for the kids unconditionally and trying to help them, working hard to help Jasper with the exhibition, or even being sweet and polite to Victor, despite his attitude.
* OnlySaneEmployee: Trudy does pretty much all the actual running of the House with no help from Victor. All Victor does is creep around and hand out punishments to the kids when they get too close to his secrets, and the actual teachers are all too absorbed in their scheme.
* PokeThePoodle: Her time as a Sinner is spent baking "evil" food made of "sugar and fat" for the other Sinners, and then laughing with them in the living room. Seems even when evil, she doesn't know how to ''be'' evil.
* SweetBaker: Known for making great cakes, cookies, brownies and more, and she's also very sweet herself, taking care of everyone like she's their mother.

The English and French teacher at the school, as well as a member of Victor's society.
----

* AntiVillain: Though she spends the entire first season helping Victor and acting as an antagonist, it was made very clear that she ''did'' care for the students- to the point of attempting to save Patricia from Rufus, even though it would risk the society losing their advantage. She wanted immortality, but was opposed to the way Victor went about getting it, and spend Season 2 just trying to be a good teacher.
* HeelFaceTurn: After being a member of the society in Season 1, she turned over a new leaf in Season 2, focusing on her duties as a teacher and taking a stance against Vera, who she realized was incredibly shady, proving herself to no longer have any antagonistic intentions, nor any willingness to let anyone get hurt.

A strange man in black, who has an interest in finding Joy.
----
* BadSamaritan: He first appears as a private investigator who was trying to help Patricia find Joy. Of course, it is implied he knew that Joy and Patricia were friends, and used Patricia's concern to benefit himself.
* BigBad: While it first appears to be Victor, it turns out that Rufus is the true driving threat of Season 1, acting as a constant source of trouble for both Victor and Sibuna, and acting as the final obstacle to overcome before the students can win.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Pretends to help Patricia to serve his own selfish needs, acting friendly right up until it's time to turn on her. From then on, he makes no secret about what sort of person he actually is.
* TheCollector: His identity for most of season 2 is literally known as The Collector, as he was collecting Egyptian artifacts, and had a special interest in artifacts owned by the Frobisher-Smythes.
* DevilInPlainSight: He wore all black, and was basically stalking Patricia for a few episodes before they met. Despite this, she still trusts him, and it's treated as a surprise when he turns out to be evil.
* EvilFormerFriend: He was once childhood friends with Victor and Sarah. However, after learning he was an Osirian and learning certain secrets about the House, he turned on both of them.
* EvilWearsBlack: He wears the same black coat, black turtle neck and black pants in virtually all his appearances and is the more evil counterpart to Victor, putting the students in danger for his own personal desires.
* FakingTheDead: Rufus has a habit of faking his death to trick the others into letting their guard down. He did this before season 1, making the teachers think he was gone before he swooped back into the picture. The same happened in season 2, where his name was in the obituary before he rejoined the show as a villain.
* FallenHero: He was Sarah's Osirian, but he let the role go to his head, becoming power-hungry and desperate for immortality.
* {{Foil}}: He is one to Victor in terms of antagonists to Sibuna, but unlike Victor, Rufus acts mostly in the shadows. His willingness to hurt the kids also brings out Victor's good-side, making him seem better in comparison to Rufus's evil.
* AGodAmI: At the end of Season 2, he declares himself a god and calls everyone else "mortals" when he wears the Mask of Anubis.
* GodhoodSeeker: His goal in season 2 was to use the Mask of Anubis to join the Egyptian deities as a God.
* KarmicDeath: If he hadn't put the Mask of Anubis on, he wouldn't be in Egyptian hell right now. Victor actually [[InvokedTrope invoked]] this by trying to convince Nina to let him wear the mask.
* ManipulativeBastard: When he was still pretending to be Patricia's ally, his interactions with her were full of classic manipulation tactics, making her trust him by telling her what she wanted to hear while encouraging her to be distrustful of others. He came to her at the time when she was most alone, and used that to trick her into being loyal to him, right up until the mask fell off.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's as old as Victor and Sarah, but he doesn't look it, due to having drunk enough elixir to look much younger than 95.
* UngratefulBastard: Patricia had taken a huge risk and rescued him from the hospital when the teachers had put him into some sort of coma, and he repaid her by kidnapping her later on.

An impatient, powerful ghost, intent on getting the Mask Of Anubis at any and all costs.
----
* BigBad: In season 2, Senkhara provided the main threat. It was her threat of death that forced the Sibuna crew to hunt down the Mask of Anubis and risk their lives defying victor and Vera. While Rufus returned to create problems, it was Senkhara's evil that pushed the plot forward, and gave Nina and her friends something to worry about.
* InvincibleBoogeymen: Compared to the other villains, she's much more dangerous and unstoppable, being a ghost that can enter dreams, lay curses, and kill people with her magic, while everyone else is just a human with shady intentions and ulterior motives. The Sibuna gang are forced to work for her and do as she says, and are unable to stop her or escape her control.
* KickTheDog: Her cursing Nina's sick grandmother for not really any good reason.
* RealityWarper: Senkhara's powers have shades of this. She's marked most of the cast with the Mark of Anubis ''in their dreams''; caused Fabian's memory to fail, Alfie to age backwards and Amber forward, and Patrica to lose her voice; and forced a non-stone TakenForGranite state on Vera.

The replacement House Mother when Trudy is helping with the Season 2 Exhibition, who is quickly revealed to have ulterior motives.
----
* FauxAffablyEvil: She plays up the act of being the perfect Housemother...but is ruthless and cunning in her efforts to get the Mask of Anubis for [[BigBad Rufus]].
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: Vera was never a heroic character and most of her actions were bad in one way or another, but the act that established how bad she is when she kidnapped Trudy, the house's sweet, loving housemother.
* KarmaHoudini: She did plenty of horrible things, like kidnap Trudy, and many fans were crying out for her karma. In the end, however, she literally was just told to walk offscreen and that was the end of it.
* MayDecemberRomance: Victor developed feelings for her, despite him being over 95 in series 2 when they met, while Vera is somewhere in her 40’s. However, due to the doses of the elixir Victor took in the past they look the same age.
* TheMole: Though she pretends to be helping Victor, is actually working for The Collector. She uses her power to make Jasper a mole, as well, though he's unwilling and terrified.
* RedFlagRecreationMaterial: Vera, who is first introduced as a seemingly-nice housemother with shady motivations, quickly begins to encourage Victor to be smarter about the way he handles the children. She openly references ''Literature/TheArtOfWarSunTzu'' and uses its tactics to take advantage of what the kids are doing and gain an advantage over them, one of the first signs that she's a lot more cunning and calculating than she seems. Later on, Victor himself begins to use tactics from the book, which results in an excited "Victor! You've been reading ''The Art of War''!"

The new history teacher who may know more than she leads on. She's actually "The Keeper". The one who holds "The Sleeper" awaiting the day of the eclipse to perform the ritual to revive Robert Frobisher-Smythe.
----
* AmbitionIsEvil: Doesn't get anymore evil than ultimately selling out humanity to a dark god for a seat in HellOnEarth.
* TheCorrupter: To Robert, as it was her influence that turned him evil in the first place. The two go on to try to corrupt others in Ammut's services.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: For all her evil, and hating she always seemed to draw a line at actually killing her sister. Of course, what she does do to her isn't that much better, with Caroline poisoning her mind and getting her locked in an institution, and then offering her to Ammut.
* EvilTeacher: She's the new teacher in season 3, and is season 3's primary villain as the one creating most of the problems and turning others into sinners. She uses her teaching position to have easy control over the students to torment them and coerce them.
* FauxAffablyEvil: She seems like the perfect teacher, but is a skilled ManipulativeBastard who keeps her stepsister locked up, makes subtle threats towards Sibuna, and will hurt anyone to get what she wants--and was a whole lot more successful than Vera.
* KickTheDog: Most notably, when she planted fake evidence of cheating on Eddie's computer and tricked Patricia into reading it, effectively breaking her heart and making her break down in tears for the first time in the show. This was only days after she and Eddie had gotten back together, and Denby's motive was nothing more than trying to provoke Patricia into being a sinner. It worked.
* ManipulativeBastard: She spends most of Season 3 scheming in an effort to push herself ahead, tricking others into doing exactly what she needs them to. Her manipulative abilities were showed off when she took advantage of Patricia's relationship insecurities, and convinced her that Eddie was cheating on her, making her turn into a sinner. She also convinced everyone that she was actually Harriet Denby, her step-sister, pulling the strings so that ''she'' became the Keeper, rather than her sister.
* TheStarscream: Functions as TheDragon to Robert, only to betray him in the series finale and attempt to TakeOverTheWorld along with Ammut.

----
* BigBad: When he wakes up, he takes over as the main threat to the kids, though he is just playing TheDragon to Ammut. It's him who is collecting sinners to awaken his god, and spends his time bossing around Victor and Caroline.
* BigGood: Seems to have once been trying to hide the artifacts from people like Victor and Rufus, and even left instructions to help future house residents stop him in the event he woke up evil.
* CameBackWrong: Since Caroline, an evil woman, resurrected Robert, he returned even more villainous than she.
* EvilIsHammy: He ''loves'' to [[ChewingTheScenery chew the scenery]] while evil:

An old woman who claims to have lived in the House of Anubis. She gives Nina a locket which seems to have some power over the house.
----
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: In a way, Sarah. While she isn't really a cuckoolander, many people do believe she is crazy including the main characters themselves, but everything she says is usually a clue to the mystery in some way. This is because she grew up with the mystery herself, as her parents were the ones who hid the treasure and the two main villains turned on her for the truth. She also happened to be the original [[ItSucksToBeTheChosenOne Chosen One.]]
* MysteriousWaif: A rare elderly example: she has a connection with the villain, gives the protagonist vague, cryptic advice and a mysterious trinket to assist her in her journey and captivates said protagonist with her odd and puzzling ways.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Victor; they were friends in their childhood, but it ended after Victor's father forced him to turn on her.

[[quoteright:255:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/piper12.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:255:"I recognize your talent."]]

Patricia's sweet-natured, musically talented twin sister, who temporarily stays at Anubis House.
----

* EliteSchoolMeansEliteBrain: Piper's status as the more musically-talented and cultured of the Williamson twins is exemplified by her going to a special academy for musical prodigies, which Patricia bitterly refers to being for "musical geniuses" and compares her school negatively to. It's shown that while Piper's under a lot of stress at that school, she's also still a brilliant, knowledgeable, and skilled student who was also clever enough to trick everyone into not looking for her when she ran away to see her sister.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: PlayedWith; Piper initially seems like she'd be the foolish and naive sister, compared to Patricia's status as the least emotional member of Sibuna. However, when they actually interact, Patricia's rebellious and mischievous nature is highlighted, while Piper is the one trying to keep ''her'' in line- making Piper the responsible one, and Patricia the foolish one.
* NiceGuy: She's a sweet, friendly girl even to Victor, contrasting Patricia's blunt, sarcastic nature. It's her genuine kindness that makes Alfie fall for her, and the only person she ever seems to get sassy with is Patricia herself.
* RomanticFalseLead: In the short time she's at the House, Alfie develops a crush on her, and she likes him back. However, she leaves before they can even act on their feelings, and her subplot seemed mostly a way to get Amber to realize she still has feelings for Alfie. Piper acts as a false lead who had no serious character flaws, and there was no drama with the brief relationship; she'd simply had to leave due to her character arc (and Nikita Ramsey's contract).
* UnknownRelative: Though Patricia had been in Anubis House for what's implied to be several years, only her best friend Joy seemed to be aware of the existence of Piper. This allowed for a subplot where Piper stayed at Anubis House in secret, inadvertently tricking people like Alfie into thinking Patricia was suddenly being nice (and thus into thinking the crush he had was on her rather than on Piper). The moment when she revealed to everyone in the house that Piper existed was full of shocked reactions that could've only happened had Patricia simply never mentioned Piper's existence. It's implied her jealousy of Piper's talents and social skills were why she kept everyone but Joy in the dark.

Jerome's just-as-sneaky younger sister, introduced in the second season.
----

* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Jerome finds her so annoying that he even tries to hide from her when she first arrives, and he takes great pains to keep her existence a secret. She spends her time blackmailing him and annoying him, even plastering old pictures of him around the school just for some laughs. However, they do love each other when it matters.
* InsultOfEndearment: Jerome refers to her as "Poopy", which turns into an affectionate nickname once they grow closer to each other. She refers to ''him'' as "Gerbil", which goes through the same evolution.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Much like her older brother, she's manipulative, selfish, and sneaky, pulling tricks for cheap laughs or money, without much remorse. Despite this, she also does love Jerome, develops a genuine friendship with Mara, and cares ''a lot'' about being with her long-lost father.
* UnknownRelative: While he'd been secretive about his poor relationship with his parents until he opened up to Mara in the first season, Jerome never mentioned having a little sister until she appeared at the school. Poppy herself [[ExploitedTrope exploited]] this, as she used Jerome's unwillingness to admit her existence to his friends as a way to blackmail him at the beginning of the season.

The father of Jerome and Poppy, trying to redeem himself after years of being a disappointment.

* DisappearedDad: Vanished from Jerome and Poppy's life when they were both young, with Poppy not even old enough to remember him. He didn't leave for any malicious reason, however; [[DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou he was in prison]]. This still left serious scars on Jerome and Poppy, who grew up with their apathetic mother and were practically raised by their boarding schools. To his credit, he does try to make amends for what happened after they reunite.
* ReformedCriminal: A former gem-thief who wants nothing more than to turn over a new leaf. At the end of Season 2, he's released with parole, thanks to the help of his kids.
* ShipperOnDeck: He thinks Jerome should go out with Mara, and pushes him to do so, finding it ridiculous that the two aren't already dating when he first meets her.
