Billions and billions of years ago, a group of twelve Trolls played Sburb[=/=]Sgrub. However, their society left them unprepared for the rigours of the game. To make matters worse, a mysterious glitch affected their session, preventing them from succeeding. With no other options left, they initiated a Scratch and reset themselves and their universe. To prevent their entire existence from dissipating, one Troll killed herself and her allies seconds before the Scratch hit in order to survive as ghosts.

In the new reality, their Ancestors - the [[Characters/HomestuckTrollsOne more]] [[Characters/HomestuckTrollsTwo familiar]] [[Characters/HomestuckTrollsThree Trolls]] - became the players, while the pre-Scratch players would become [[Characters/HomestuckGuardians the modern Trolls' Ancestors]]. This time, with Troll culture shaped by Doc Scratch, the players were able to win... [[NonstandardGameOver sort of]].

This seemed to be the end of their story until a pair of deceased Troll girls started appearing in dream bubbles...

[[folder: Universal Tropes]]
* AnimeHair: They all have more animesque hair than their descendants. Kurloz's hair is actually '''worse''' than Gamzee's.
* BlackComedyRape: The Ministrife includes a comment by Mituna complaining about being groped, and another by Damara who is decidedly less upset about also being groped.
-->[= MITUNA: S0M30N3 1S 5 70U5H1NG M3. 7H17H N33D5 70 5T0P =]\
DAMARA: Someone is touching me. Please continue.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Subverted. They are about 7 years older than their Post-Scratch Counterparts and are logically drawn to be more attractive. This doesn't stop most of them from being either psychopathic or outright insane.
* CastHerd: The only ones who ever do anything on their own are Meenah and Aranea.
* ChekhovsBoomerang: It's implied that they were the friends Jadesprite had met in the afterlife.
* ChekhovsGunman: The existence of the pre-Scratch Troll players was first introduced by Doc Scratch.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: All of the post-Scratch trolls are fairly normal, with the exceptions of the high-bloods. Except for Porrim, their pre-Scratch counterparts are all insane and violent.
* CrystalDragonJesus:
** Several of them took up the Sufferer's teachings, Aranea in particular. This is twisted a bit since the A1 trolls don't have a Sufferer analogue; Aranea became a follower of the A2 Sufferer ''after she died''.
** Kurloz is even more into the "mirthful messiah" religion than Gamzee and is more than aware that he's worshipping Lord English.
* DeadToBeginWith: [[AxeCrazy Meenah]] blew them up with a small Tumor at the end of their session. By the time ''Homestuck'' starts, they've been dead for thousands of subjective years.
* DealWithTheDevil: Hussie's comments have likened their decision to initiate the Scratch in their own session as one, given that it basically allowed Doc Scratch, often described as the manipulative devil figure of the series, free reign to twist the post-Scratch Alternia into the CrapsackWorld it eventually became.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Despite the many character flaws the pre-Scratch trolls had, it ultimately wasn't their fault that they failed - they never had a hope of succeeding to begin with. Their session was glitched and had no ectobiology equipment, meaning that they never created their own paradox clones. All timelines in which they didn't Scratch the session were automatically doomed, since they would never have closed a loop and created themselves.
* FanDisservice: They're caricatures of the trolls in badly written {{Lemon}}s, though special mention has to go to Damara's [[HeadTiltinglyKinky translated]] [[AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles text]] and Horuss [[BestialityIsDepraved explicitly finding musclebeasts (read: Alternian/Beforan horses) sexual ideals]].
* {{Fanservice}}: Compared to their Post-Scratch counterparts. Justified, as they're all old enough to be sexually active, whereas the Post-Scratch trolls are introduced at around the human age of thirteen. They're even introduced with Talk Sprites, which invoke SelfFanservice over the less attractive and more monstrous miniature sprites.
* FantasticCasteSystem: Like in the Post-Scratch world, they have the [[FantasticRacism Hemospectrum]]. However, rather than being outright racist, theirs simply determines what role you will play in society. Notably, the highbloods actually help and guide the lower ones, rather than oppress them. However, it's pretty clear that this system is condescending to lower castes, and the justifications resemble WhiteMansBurden. (see below)
* {{Flanderization}}: Most of them take the fans' interpretation of a character and run to the logical conclusion of it. Cronus is a complete loser, Kurloz is an EvilGenius, Kankri never shuts up, Latula is obsessed with being a coolkid, Meulin thinks about shipping and absolutely nothing else, etc. Lampshaded by Karkat saying in essence "They're all {{Flat Character}}s and they're all '''{{Jerkass}}es'''."
* FlatCharacter: A few of them (such as Meulin, Cronus and Horuss) have minimal characterization beyond what is presented when they talk to Meenah. Aranea can optionally describe their HiddenDepths and their insecurities, but a good majority of those HiddenDepths never come into play with many characters, feeling more like {{Informed Attribute}}s than anything else. Some of their flatness is {{Justified}} because they are [[TakeThatAudience caricatures]] of some of the characters that certain fans warped via {{Memetic Personality Change}}s.
* {{Foil}}: Porrim and Cronus. Porrim is an EthicalSlut but is much more intelligent, sane, and kinder than the rest of her group. Cronus badgers people for sex and believes that he is entitled to other people. Not to mention, he is a general {{Jerkass}}, even to his friends.
%%* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Meenah, Damara and Mituna are Choleric, Cronus, Horuss and Meulin are Sanguine, Rufioh, Aranea, and Latula are Phlegmatic, and Kankri, Porrim, and Kurloz are Melancholic. — zero context
* GenerationXerox: They share their aspects with their A2 counterparts, in contrast to the human players who do not.
* HeroicSacrifice: Played with. The reader, and thus the A2 Trolls, are led to believe that they heroically Scratched their session to give them a chance to attain the Ultimate Reward. It turns out that they aren't the least bit heroic, and the session was gleefully Scratched by [[AxCrazy Damara]].
* HotterAndSexier: Sex plays a role in some of their characterization, unlike the previous lack of mentions to it. Cronus outright refers to it in one of his hashtags (finally confirming via WordOfGod that trolls have sex), Damara's dialogue consists largely of sexual propositions, it's a minor plot point that Kurloz and Meulin were in a sexual relationship, and Porrim ReallyGetsAround. This is largely because, while the humans and pre-Scratch trolls were introduced at age thirteen or thereabouts, they were older teens when they died. Additionally, all of the Pre-Scratch trolls besides Meenah and Aranea are introduced as talksprites, which instead of the more stylized and less attractive normal sprites.
* IdenticalGrandson: They're identical to the Ancestors and heavily resemble their dancestors, the modern trolls.
* LoopholeAbuse: Meenah's tumour bomb killed the team, but some members were God Tiered, including Meenah herself. However, reality was destroyed before they could revive from a non-Just/Heroic death.
* MilkyWhiteEyes: Like all the dead, their eyes are solid white.
* MythologyGag: Most of these Trolls' first names were suggested names from when the post-Scratch trolls were introduced.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Downplayed: [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/4053 They performed the Scratch]], causing post-Scratch Alternia to be an awful place, and end up on Lord English's menu. However, the other option was to let their species die out completely.
* NotGrowingUpSucks: Everyone except Meenah (who, from her own perspective, has been dead for only a day or so), has fallen into severe mental ruts. Eternally brooding on the past has outright made Horuss insane, while it's turned many other members of the team (Damara, Aranea, Kankri, Kurloz, Cronus) into severe [[{{Jerkass}} assholes]] who are borderline AxCrazy. Meanwhile, even the superficially normal people like Rufioh and Latula have fallen into hidden depression from repressed issues, while Mituna and possibly Meulin are trapped in a [[AndIMustScream broken mind]]. The only one relatively apart from this is Porrim as the TeamMom and OnlySaneMan. All told, it just shows how being stuck as a teenager for millions of years is a '''really''' bad thing, to say the least.
* PerfectPacifistPeople: Subverted. When compared to the Post-Scratch session, it seems like this, but it has its own issues, and there were still people inclined to spite and violence like people anywhere; just look at Meenah, Damara or Kurloz.
* PlotRelevantAgeUp: They are about 19 years old, having spent 3 sweeps ([[ArcNumber six and a half years]]) after their session was wrecked in their Incipisphere before dying.
* SanityBall: Passed around. Rufioh and Porrim are the best-adjusted characters, Meenah is the only one who actively wants to stop the giant monster from killing them all by uniting everyone. Aranea mixed both, being level headed and focused, but threw the ball away once her plan was revealed.
* SingleIssueWonk: Most of them are obsessed with one thing and one thing only, and will rarely talk about much or anything else. Damara is obsessed with sex, Kankri is obsessed with his shallow understanding of social justice, Meulin is obsessed with shipping, Latula is obsessed with being cool, Horuss is obsessed with horses, Kronus is obsessed also with sex, Meenah is obsessed with money...
* StealthPun: Their planet was not named Alternia. It was named "Beforus". It came ''before'' its ''alternate'' version. It loses its stealthiness when Karkat lampshades it in [=A6A3=]'s second game segment.
** Given that [[TakeThatAudience most of them are a mockery of the fanbase]], this might be considered a meta-BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor.
** Meulin, Kurloz, and Cronus all derive characterization from the popular, heavily {{Flanderized}}, fan interpretations of Nepeta, Gamzee, and Eridan respectively. Mituna may also count, given that he's an extreme of Sollux. [[StealthPun In other words]]... [[CallBack they're]] [[RunningGag fantrolls]]. {{Fanon}}trolls.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Played with in that some of them better resemble their dancestors than others. Kankri and Karkat are nearly identical, and so are Damara and Aradia. Gamzee and Kurloz definitely have a resemblance, as do Meulin and Nepeta and Aranea and Vriska. The rest, however, are more subjective.
* TakeThatAudience: Many of the Pre-Scratch trolls are [[AffectionateParody lighthearted caricatures of the fans themselves]].
** Or as Karkat and Terezi put it:
--->KARKAT: THEY PRACTICALLY AREN'T EVEN PEOPLE. THEY'RE WALKING, TALKING, LIKE...\
KARKAT: I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PUT IT. [[LampshadeHanging ALMOST LIKE LIVING PARODIES OF HORRIBLE, CLICHED BEHAVIOR PATTERNS.]]\
TEREZI: [=WH4T, YOU M34N L1K3=]...\
TEREZI: [[TeensAreMonsters T33N4GERS]]?\
KARKAT: YES.
** If you find Hussie with Damara in the final walkaround segment of [=A6I3=], he drops the lighthearted and says more or less "These characters are unimportant caricatures of you guys and they're all pretty much terrible people". Rufioh and Porrim are inverted examples, however, being positive references to Dante Basco and good social justice types.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Due to [[NotGrowingUpSucks millions of years stuck in a teenage mindset]]. Exceptions include [[NiceGuy Rufioh]], [[TeamMom Porrim]], and the already-unpleasant [[SociopathicHero Meenah]], who actually seems to have [[TookALevelInKindness reversed]] the pattern. Aranea appeared to avert this at first, but once she revealed her plan and killed Jade her kind disposition [[FauxAffablyEvil was all but confirmed to have become an act]].
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Their time stuck in the dreambubbles and the guilt of their failed session all drove them to crude caricatures of their personalities. Subverted in Damara and Porrim's cases, the former of the two putting on her act to piss her friends off.
* WalkingSpoiler: Not as much as certain other characters, but revealing how they are actually relevant to the plot leads to huge spoilers about the characters that they interact with.
* WeHaveBecomeComplacent: Or rather we ''used'' to be complacent. Beforus was a much more peaceful society than Alternia. Their failure to win their session is partially linked to their society not preparing for the rigours of the game. As well as, according to Aranea, [[SkewedPriorities prioritizing their own desires before actually making progress in the game.]]
* WhiteMansBurden: Or in this case "Blue Blood's Burden". The lower castes were treated almost like children by the upper class, and people with even minor disabilities were "culled", essentially becoming wards of the state for their own good. [[{{Foreshadowing}} Feferi's room introduction and her treatment of cuttlefish perfectly shows this.]]
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatResponsibility: The higher-blood trolls were meant to help the lower-blooded ones. Meenah felt that being forced to be nice was no different from slavery and when she learned [[AMillionIsAStatistic what her post-scratch self did]] she was ''paralyzed with joy''.

The pre-Scratch incarnation of the Handmaid (Aradia's ancestor). She was the '''Witch of Time'''. She initiated the Scratch in her session.

--> (貧しい)日本で完全に呼ばスピークス"東BEFORANのアクセント。" [[labelnote:Translation]]Speaks entirely in (poor) Japanese, called an "East Beforan accent."[[/labelnote]]
--> 期間を持つすべての句を終了します。 [[labelnote:Translation]]Ends every clause with a period.[[/labelnote]]
--> 一般的に性的に明示的または彼女の文の中で積極的に示唆的である。 [[labelnote:Translation]]Is generally sexually explicit or aggressively suggestive in her statements.[[/labelnote]]
--> WHEN TALK TO HUMAN. USE ALL CAPS. BAD ENGLISH.

----
* AmicableExes: Heavily downplayed, but still somewhat present. She's slightly more friendly with Rufioh than the other trolls and still considers him a friend despite his cheating on her, though she's still very crude and violent around him (and rendering him quadriplegic at one point). Given that he seems to understand what she's saying, it's quite possible that a lot of her relative friendliness towards him is simply because she can't mess with him as well as she can the others.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Japanese, rather. But she at least understands English, too. The other trolls sort of understanding her too, considering Japanese to just be a "weird accent."
* AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles: Her character and personality are heavily influenced by the perception of anime mostly involving promiscuous girls and tentacle-adjacent sexual acts.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology: She lampshades Meenah saying that clams make pearls.
-->"Clams do not make pearls. [[{{Irony}} You know nothing of the sea]]."
* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: A better example than most as at least her dialogue ''is'' in Japanese, but it's pretty clear that Hussie just ran what she says through Google Translator as there are a lot of mistakes in it that wouldn't make sense from a natural speaker, something Hussie outright admits to Damara's face, even mocking that she's not "authentic troll Japanese" but "fake troll Japanese."
* AxCrazy: She is very mentally unstable and has a pronounced violent streak beneath it all.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Damara wanted desperately to serve Lord English. The Handmaid got to do just that and [[DrivenToSuicide did not]] [[WhoWantsToLiveForever like it]] [[BrokenBird at all]].
* BilingualBonus: Again, she speaks in Japanese. The game even gives [[http://tinyurl.com/damaramegido a link to a transcript of her conversations]], for easier translation. What she ''says'' is vulgar in the extreme.
* BreakTheCutie: Rufioh cheating on her with Horuss, as well as her friends being abusive jerks, all drove her to become violent and borderline psychopathic. Aranea implies that there might be another influence for her to have taken such a sharp turn from "as meek as can 8e" to perverted and murderous.
* ChekhovsGunman: Her appearance is identical to that of the younger Handmaid who appeared in Act 5. She likewise appeared briefly in Meenah's narration before being officially introduced.
* ClingyJealousGirl: To Rufioh when he started hanging out with Horuss a lot.
* TheCorrupter: She sabotaged her session so that it was doomed to fail, presumably so that she could initiate the Scratch and kill all of her friends.
* {{Cosplay}}: One version of her that turns up during the Ministrife is cosplaying as Franchise/SailorMoon.
* DepravedBisexual: The trolls are [[EveryoneIsBi inherently bisexual]], but Damara is the only one among them whose advances on characters of both sexes are consistently shown as explicit and vulgar to the point of creepiness, making her the only one to fit this trope--though it ''is'' a bit ambiguous as to how many of her propositions are genuine and how many are her messing with people.
* DevelopmentGag: Two of her sprites use poses recycled from unused Aradia and Porrim sprites.
* DragonLady: Or at least the FantasyCounterpartCulture equivalent.
* DramaticIrony: In the flash she appears in, it's possible to go through the meteor as her as an EasterEgg. If you talk to Dave or Rose, they remark about how harmless and sweet she seems. Now, look at most of her other tropes.
* DualWielding: Like all Needle kind users, she uses a sharpened needle in each hand.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first thing she does in Openbound is flip off Meenah.
* FaceHeelTurn: It's implied that after she broke up with Rufioh she used her TimeTravel powers to sabotage her session and that she also supports Lord English; in fact, one troll notes that she only became useful again when they decided to perform a scratch, implying that her intention was to force them to go down that route all along.
* FanDisservice: Her translated text, especially with [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom Horuss]], who's oblivious to her innuendo. She also approaches the vulnerable Karkat and Mituna this way before being threatened by Terezi and Latula, respectively. Thankfully, she's very sweet and friendly with humans for some reason, even if it is only an act.
* FantasyCounterpartCulture: Parodied. She comes from an exaggerated FantasyCounterpartCulture of Japan, with every required prop of {{Animeland}}: [[DragonLady Dragon Ladies,]] [[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign horribly Google-translated Japanese speech,]] [[AsianSpeekeeEngrish likewise horribly mangled English speech,]] and [[AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles unspeakable lewdness.]] What is the place called? ''Alterniasia.''
* FlippingTheBird: Her typical response to someone telling her off is to give a one-fingered salute.
* TheGadfly: She has spent her afterlife creeping her friends out and being passive-aggressively sexual.
* GoodGirlGoneBad: According to Meenah, her personality was much different -- especially, much less aggressively crude -- before things with Rufioh went south and Meenah had to rub it in.
* GoneHorriblyRight: When Rufioh starts showing an interest in Horuss, Meenah starts rubbing it in. So Damara [[DisproportionateRetribution cripples Rufioh, and then proceeds to kill Horuss and Meenah in her ensuing rage]].
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: Her Japanese is confirmed to be English translated to Japanese by Google Translate. The most obvious result of this is her constant use of the word "anata".
* HeelRealization: Subverted. When Meenah calls her a backstabber, a liability, and a bitch, she ''agrees'' and seems indifferent to the entire conversation.
* HeadTiltinglyKinky: Her use of intentionally bad Japanese combined with sexual slurring results in this, like so.
-->Damara: [I want to feel my nipples between your teeth.]\
Meenah: wha\
Meenah: did you just tell me to bite something or...\
Meenah: screw it i give up
* IdenticalGrandson: Her talksprite is ''identical'' to Aradia's, right down to her lips and dimples. The only differences are the hair, the clothes, and ''very'' slightly different eyelashes.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Like Rose and her post-Scratch self, she wields needles.
* InUniverseNickname: She's frequently referred to as "Damz".
* IWarnedYou: She warned Rufioh that a relationship with Horuss would consist of talking about [[BestialityIsDepraved big sweaty musclebeasts]] and would end badly. He clearly wishes that he had listened to her.
* {{Jerkass}}:
** She's petty, vengeful, and likes to screw with people at random, even locking up and nearly suffocating Rufioh's lusus in a box. Over 80% of her dialogue to people other than Rufioh is incredibly vulgar sexual propositions too.
** Even to Rufioh, however, she's crude and creepy. When Rufioh refuses to get back together with her for what seems to be the umpteenth time, Damara callously says that Rufioh "owes" her "sexual favours."
* JerkassHasAPoint: When Rufioh tries to lessen his responsibility about his cheating, Damara is clearly still hurt by this and calls him out for putting up with Horrus with fake enthusiasm instead of taking her advice of breaking up with him.
* LotsOfPlanetsHaveANorth: From eastern Beforus, which seems to be the Beforan[=/=]Alternian equivalent of Asia. Horuss even refers to it as Alterniasia.
%%* LovableSexManiac: To varying degrees of "lovable".
* LoveMakesYouCrazy and LoveMakesYouEvil: Before Rufioh cheated on her, she was already at breaking point. Afterwards, she isolates herself from the rest of the trolls. Though she's nice to humans.
* MaddenIntoMisanthropy: As a result of Rufioh cheating on her and Meenah's constant bullying of her, she distanced herself from her former friends and begun to support Lord English.
* MeaningfulName: Damara is a breed of sheep. It is possibly a reference to how she blindly follows Lord English, and it also sounds like "damned", referencing Aradia's doom/apocalypse motif. Plus, there are two women in the Bible called 'Tamar' (phonetically similar to 'Damara') who both had to do with sexual affairs, much like Damara is.
** It also invokes the Japanese word 'damare' which means 'shut your mouth'.
* MindOverMatter: Like all rustbloods in the comic, she's a powerful telekinetic.
* NietzscheWannabe: PlayedForLaughs... well, arguably... but she's very nihilistic as a response to personal tragedies
-->Damara: Love is dead to me. So long ago, someone stabbed me through the heart.
* NoIndoorVoice: She speaks in all caps in English. Seeing as how Terezi and Karkat do the same and are constantly shouting, it can be presumed that Damara is too.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: When speaking with the human kids, she adopts a different persona, using friendly and extremely broken English. It does seem to fool them (Dave declares her "harmless," and Rose says she seems "sweet"), when by now the player/reader will be well aware of her bitter, cruel demeanour and worship of Lord English.
* OmnicidalManiac: She was very enthusiastic about starting the Scratch because doing so would mean erasing all of the pre-scratch trolls from existence. She wants to join Lord English for the same reason.
* PassiveAggressiveCombat: She uses her language barrier (an incredibly thick eastern accent) to be sexually explicit and emotionally abusive towards the other trolls without them knowing.
* PhraseCatcher: "Hey Damz! If you go anywhere near him, I will fucking kill you!" (From Terezi and Latula in regards to Karkat and Mituna, respectively.)
%%* PsychoExGirlfriend: She did ''not'' handle her breakup with Rufioh well.
%%* SexAsRiteOfPassage: In a bizarre way.
%%-->"You cannot be me. If you cannot understand me. Further. You cannot be me. If you cannot fuck me."
* ShrinkingViolet: Apparently used to be like this before Meenah got to her by revealing Rufioh's infidelity and egging it on. Aranea theorized that there may be a hidden factor for her to turn out so drastically nasty for sweeps.
* SmokingIsCool: She smokes to diss the other person.
* TheStoner: Unlike Gamzee, who gets stoned on [[FantasticDrug sopor slime]], Damara appears to actually be smoking weed.
** She also asks Meenah if she'd like to get stoned with her and have sex. Meenah doesn't get it.
* TimeMaster: She is the Witch of Time.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Second (or third if you count Meenah) among the ancestors, truly surpassed only by Kurloz.
* {{Troll}}: It's implied that her creepy comments are insincere, and she's simply taking advantage of the fact that most of her teammates don't understand her to mess with them.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Meenah's bullying and Rufioh's infidelity are the biggest reasons she became what she is now; according to Aranea, she was once "as meek as can be."
* WomanScorned: The apparent reason for her meltdown, and implied to be her StartOfDarkness.
* {{Yandere}}: Finding out that Rufioh had fallen for Horuss (plus a good deal of intentional needling from Meenah, and Aranea speculates some sort of outside corrupting force was involved as well) turned Damara borderline sociopathic. That said, Damara doesn't ''entirely'' fit the Yandere archetype; she largely lacks the "sweet outside" portion of the trope, being flagrantly creepy to her teammates. The only people she speaks to in a truly friendly manner are Dave and Rose--and that may well be an act.
* YouNoTakeCandle: When switching to proper English, her speech is rather broken.

--> Censors self when using profanity (e.g: "crazy sh*t.")

----
* AmicableExes: Despite her contempt for him, Damara still seems to consider him a friend. Not that it stops her from trying to kill his lusus and making his afterlife misery.
* AnchoredShip: With Damara. And he wants to break it off with Horuss.
* BlowYouAway: He is the Rogue of Breath.
* BodyHorror: When Horuss rebuilt him as a robot to counter his paralysis, he rebuilt Rufioh ''as a horse'' to better fit his ideal. One of his alternates shows up as a horse and asks to die in Rufioh's same calm demeanour.
* CanNotSpitItOut: He just can't tell Horuss that they should see other trolls.
* CaptainErsatz: He's deliberately designed to be a stand-in of Rufio from ''Film/{{Hook}}'' and his actor Dante Basco.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "Bangarang!" This was the rallying cry of the Lost Boys (and the original Rufio) in ''Film/{{Hook}}''.
* ChickMagnet: He was ''very'' popular with the other trolls.
* {{Cosplay}}: One version of him that turns up during the Ministrife is cosplaying as [[Franchise/SailorMoon Tuxedo Mask]].
* DeathSeeker: The ghost of his "musclebeast" body ''really'' wants to be killed by Lord English.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: All trolls consider him highly attractive, as does Hussie himself, although trolls are depicted as pansexual by default.
* ExtremeDoormat: Towards Horuss, who he can't break up with because Horuss is oblivious to his attempts and also head over heels in love with him. It is implied he has a hard time saying no in general to people.
* {{Flanderization}}: Of Tavros being a ChickMagnet and having self-confidence issues.
* FullConversionCyborg: In the Dream Bubbles, a number of ghosts of Rufioh are seen to have had their heads grafted onto mechanical horse bodies. All these instances of Rufioh hate their life as a result.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Does this to an extent; something of a contrast to Tavros.
* LovableRogue: His class is Rogue, but he's actually rather nice when you meet him.
* MeaningfulName: It's "[[{{Film/Hook}} Rufio]]", but with an "h" at the end making it resemble [[Anime/YuGiOh a certain anime about card games]].
* NiceGuy: He's pretty much the nicest troll out of his group, besides the whole cheating on Damara thing. It should be noted that despite having an amicable personality, Rufioh can be a JerkAss at times: not understanding why Damara took his affair so personally, and purposefully avoiding Horuss and flirting with an Aradiabot in Ministrife.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: It is strongly implied that what completely drove Damara off the rails and led to her sabotage their session was him cheating on her coupled with Meenah's insults. In other words, Rufioh's infidelity has ''universe-wide'' consequences.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Aside from the '1's,[[note]]the Nitrams' NumerologicalMotif, as seen in "t1ck t0ck 8r8k [=H34DS=]"[[/note]] his speaking style is a direct homage to Creator/DanteBasco's writing style on his Tumblr. Dante portrayed the original Rufio and became the fandom's darling when he started a readthrough of Homestuck.
* OccidentalOtaku: Or the Alternian form of occidental, anyway.
* {{Otaku}}: The first genuine canonical example, as a member of the Lost Weeaboos.
* RedHerring: To a new reader, Rufioh having wings would have been an indicator that he achieved God Tier. It’s later revealed that he did not, and his wings are instead an indication of being a mutant.
* ShoutOut: On top of all the [[Film/{{Hook}} Rufio]] references, his use of "doll" is one to Rufio's actor, Dante Basco, who uses this quirk himself on [[http://rufiozuko.tumblr.com/ his Tumblr page]] (which got fan attention when someone introduced him to Homestuck).
%%* SpikyHair: Resembling flames.
* SymbolSwearing: He tends to asterisk out letters in vulgar words or slurs that he uses.
* UnwillingRoboticisation: At the very least, Rufioh didn't give consent to being roboticized as a ''horse.''
* WholeCostumeReference: [[Film/{{Hook}} RUFIOOOOOOOOOOOOOO]]!!
%%* WholePlotReference: His backstory references ''Film/{{Hook}}'' heavily as well.%%How?
* WingedHumanoid: He has a large pair of butterfly wings. It's apparently a {{muta|nts}}tion.
* WeCanRebuildHim: Damara completely paralyzed him; Horuss gave him a new robot body, described as his head on a robot. Then Horuss kissed him and his Dream Self took over.

* AndIMustScream: Ambiguous. Rumor has it that he's much more coherent around Kurloz, which suggests that Mituna's might have a bit more going on in that helmet of his than most people suspect, but is unable to express it due to his circumstances.
* {{Angrish}}: After tripping over his own feet in one of the Openbound segments, he follows up with "#LKGH;[=V451D4031NJDN01GP3=]".
* ApologisesALot
* ArtifactTitle: All the other trolls' surnames are [[MeaningfulName meaningful]] in their own right, but the name "Captor" only made sense in conjunction with "Sollux" (being a play on [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castor_and_Pollux Castor and Pollux]]). In Mituna's case, the meaning of "Captor" is lost.
* TheCassandra: Nobody paid attention to his warnings about the future.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Mituna's psychic injuries have left him teetering off the edge of sanity, and at times he's aware of it.
* CoolHelmet: Subverted. As [[InnocentBigot innocently yet callously]] {{Lampshaded}} by Kankri, it's there because his mental disability would lead him to injure himself without it.
%%* CuteClumsyGuy: "[=D344NM=] 17 I [=F3L3L=] [=D0WN=] [=4G4IN=]" -- misuse
%%* DisabledLoveInterest: To Latula.
* DisabilityAsAnExcuseForJerkassery: His initial conversation with Meenah shows that he's incredibly hostile towards seadwellers. In one of his personalities, at least.
* DualityMotif: Like Sollux. Taken to extremes in that he's got two personalities in the extremes of insane and friendly.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Performing a sick grind on a railing like Latula, only to land flat on his face.
* ExtremeDoormat: He often swings into extremely submissive behavior that responds to any kind of criticism with profuse apologies.
* EyesOutOfSight: One iteration of Mituna shows up without his helmet in the Thieves flash, revealing that his [[MessyHair mop of hair]] obscures his eyes anyway.
* FantasticRacism: He uses anti-seadweller slurs, which Meenah visibly takes offence at.
* GenerationXerox: Based on the Ψiioniic's appearance, he presumably looks virtually identical to Sollux.
* HatesBeingTouched: In general, albeit context-specific with Cronus' shoulder patting.
* HeroicRROD: According to Aranea, he overexerted his psionics to save the group from... something, which burned them out permanently and probably caused his brain damage. Suspiciously, Kurloz was the only witness.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[NoodleIncident Or so we've heard.]] It's how he got that way.
* HollywoodTourettes: He seems to be suffering from it.
* InterfaceScrew: His quirk not only involves lots of substitution of letters for numbers but also includes a lisp and intentional typos, in addition to occasional random gibbering. It is consequently ''really'' hard to read his text.
* InUniverseNickname:
** Hussie refers to him as Mega Man Sollux as a sort-of EasterEgg of the third Meenahbound segment.
** Meenah calls him "tunaboy".
* {{Jerkass}}: His primary personality is very aggressive and prone to bouts of angry insults.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: According to Latula.
* MeaningfulName: Mituna comes from "Maithuna", the Hindu Zodiac's counterpart for Gemini. Also resembles the word 'mutiny'.
* MoodSwinger: His aggressive side is a foulmouthed, barely-comprehensible ass, while his passive side is curt and contrite. He frequently gets caught in a loop of screaming slurs at his friends only to hang his head and meekly apologize when called on it.
* MoralityPet:
** The first thing that Meenah has been disturbed by of the Condesce's history was her treatment of the Helmsman. She weakly attempts to rationalize it, but it's clear that the thought of exploiting Mituna upsets her.
** Inverted for Cronus, [[KickTheDog whose interactions with him really drive home what a scumbag he is]].
* OfficialCouple: Despite his issues, he and Latula are in a stable and happy matespritship and have been for a very long time.
* PreInsanityReveal: Mituna was a powerful psionic with strong prophetic abilities. He constantly (and correctly) warned his friends that they were doomed, until "one day he lost all those abilities when he badly overexerted himself." What exactly he did is unknown, but it seems to have been some great act of heroism. Now he barely has the mental capacity to speak understandably and constantly goes back and forth between being completely passive and spewing incoherent vitriol.
* ReluctantPsycho: He's got enough of his mind still intact to realize that he's lost most of it.
* {{Seers}}: Not literally, but Mituna was constantly warning people of future catastrophe.
* SirSwearsALot: Mituna curses more frequently than any other character, once for about every ten words, according to [[http://theorigamiphoenix.tumblr.com/post/104105840442/if-its-not-clear-already-mituna-is-the-character the Origami Phoenix]]. His instinctual use of the words "fuck", "shit", and "bitch" works with his confusing typing quirk and difficulty with spelling to make him nearly impossible to understand.
* SpeechImpediment: He also has a lisp like Sollux. Meenah describes his quirk as "several conflicting speech impediments."
* StopBeingStereotypical: Kankri tells him to stop acting like a stereotypically mentally disabled person, despite the fact that Mituna genuinely needs his helmet and has poor coordination.
* TakeThat: He's a parody of {{ImageBoard|s}} users. (Note how his speech windows are patterned after 4chan-style imageboards instead of Tumblr.)
* TheUnintelligible: He has the hardest-to-read typing quirk yet, due to him replacing most letters with numbers and frequently misspelling words to an astonishing degree; in an EasterEgg, Hussie says his quirk is ''worse than Damara's broken Japanese'' in terms of legibility.
* YouCantFightFate: He is the Heir of Doom.

->Speaks in his 6l99d c9l9r. 9ften uses large w9rds and speaks 9f s9cietal w9es. Trigger warnings are applied frequently.
----
* BerserkButton: It's quite jarring to see his HolierThanThou demeanour fall away in the blink of an eye once he perceives that he's being mothered by Porrim. Who knew ghosts could have [[FireballEyeballs flames]] in their normally-blank eyeballs? Considering how the Beforan culling system treats those lower on the spectrum (let alone mutants) and the disabled, he might've taken her mothering for smothering instead.
* CallBack: Porrim made his sweater to hide his "stupid hiked-up pants"; a reference to the Sufferer's "[[http://mspaintadventures.com/scratch.php?s=6&p=005955 Righteous Leggings]]" (which, in turn, is a reference to an OffModel Karkat).
* CelibateHero: Swore a vow of celibacy but...
* ChasteHero: ...Doesn't realize his observations of Latula come off as romantic and [[StalkerWithACrush beyond.]]
* CharacterCatchphrase: A lot of fan art depicts him as saying "6lah, 6lah, 6lah, 6lah, 6lah, 6lah". This was later done in canon in the Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5 opening flash.
* CondescendingCompassion: All over the place. It's pretty clear that he's only interested in social injustices is to make himself look better.
* DoubleStandard: Towards Cronus. Kankri does nothing to stop Cronus's ableist beatdown against Mituna but leaps to the rescue when Meenah criticizes Cronus being otherkin. Considering his many backhanded remarks about Mituna's helmet, it's possible Kankri is just biased against Mituna. This makes a measure of sense when you consider his EveryoneCanSeeIt crush on Latula, and Latula's own affection for Mituna.
* EmbarrassingNickname: He does not like being called "Kanny," to the point that he actually prefers being called Insufferable instead.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: He has a crush on Latula that everybody else is very well-aware of.
* FireballEyeballs: When he perceives that he's being mothered by Porrim.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: When out of a group of eleven, only three are willing to give you the time of day and one of them spends most of the said time calling you on your bullshit, you know you've hit rock bottom. Even Porrim gets tired of him.
* GenerationXerox: Superficially with Karkat - he's physically identical to his successor, absurdly talkative, wanted to be the (spiritual) leader of his session, and has ambiguous feelings towards Pyrope but considers himself an expert on relationships (and other "sociologically fascinating" matters). But their personalities are effectively total opposites besides that, like the rest of this list shows.
* HateSink: Between his condescending nature, selfishness and generally unlikable demeanour, it's clear that the readers are ''not'' supposed to like him.
%%* HatesBeingTouched: By Porrim, at least.
* TheHeart: He considers himself to be the moral center and ethical guide for the Beforan Trolls. No one else does.
* HolierThanThou: A secular version! He considers himself ethically and morally superior to all others and will not let anyone forget it.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** For all his talk about privilege, he's very judgemental.
** Despite being fixated on justice, he completely dismisses any sort of concept of gender-inequality and in particular Porrim's (much more reasonably-expressed) feminist concerns.
* HypocriticalHumor: On a more trivial note, he claims that he doesn't like to use the term "pr96lematic" lightly. This is in the middle of a lecture during which he uses "pr96lematic" or some form of "pr96lematize" pretty much every few sentences.
* IdenticalGrandson: He looks very similar to his post-scratch self The Sufferer, right down to the high-waisted pants that he wears under the red sweater.
* InnocentBigot: Tends to condescend the people he attempts to defend instead of helping them.
* InsufferableGenius: Though he doesn't believe he's a ''genius'' - just that nobody knows better than him. Functionally they're indistinguishable.
* {{Irony}}: For all of his preaching, he's the only one who really seems to give a damn about triggers - everyone else largely ignores them. Though, considering he's a {{Jerkass}}, his use of them are to the point of condescending and to deflect any criticism.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's a thoughtless, selfish, condescending snob under his deluge of politically correct rhetoric, earning him the nickname "The Insufferable." Contrast with Karkat, whose abrasive personality is [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold a transparent attempt to cover up his softer side]]. And unlike others in his session, like Damara, Kurloz, or even Cronus who all TookALevelInJerkass, Kankri has always been a {{Jerkass}}.
* KickTheDog: His treatment of Mituna is pretty harsh. He also seems to dislike Meulin, saying his alternate's romance with her was questionable and jumping at a chance to lecture her about telling an alternate horse!Rufioh to not kill himself as being "suicide-shaming". (Which doesn't say much for his opinion of Rufioh either, come to think of it.)
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: While he's clearly intelligent and admirably passionate about social issues, it's clear that he knows buzzwords, the contents of the thesaurus, and the existence of said passion a heckuva lot better than he does actual coherent social commentary (among other things).
* TheLoad: Due to never realizing his abilities, his overly long sermons, and being a horrible leader, he seems to have been basically useless to his session.
* MeaningfulName: Kankri is Esperanto for crayfish (the plural form), which derives from cancer in French. "Cancri" is also the suffix applied to all-stars in the Cancer constellation. The use of Esperanto for his name is also a GeniusBonus. Esperanto was originally created as an attempt to create a universal language, though ultimately fell out of favour when everyone realized that making a universal language Eurocentric was kind of a bad idea. This fits in nicely with a lot of Kankri's thought processes.
* MotorMouth: While Karkat breaks into swear-ridden rants at the drop of a hat, Kankri breaks into sermons. Endless, self-important and incomprehensible sermons. He'll only swear with great reluctance, though. To put things in perspective, he manages to make ''Karkat'' fall completely open-mouthed silent, unable to get a word in edgewise against his massive walls of text. One particular sermon is a six-paragraph block in illegibly small writing filling up the speech bubble. It then turns into three columns of the same.
* NiceGuy: [[DeconstructedTrope Not so much, despite his claims.]] He's always trying to avoid offence and apologizes profusely when confronted with being a jerk. However, he can be quite condescending about his "sensitivity," dismisses Porrim's feminist issues as largely imaginary, is incredibly cruel towards Mituna and monopolizes Karkat's attention without any actual understanding of how he's being received. When he does make apologies, they often come off as backhanded and self-aggrandizing. Karkat sees right through him and later makes it clear that just because he's not shouting all the time doesn't mean he's nice and reasonable.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero:
** Just as Cronus is on the verge of admitting his "humankin"-greaser persona is just another act to get attention and he should try to change, Kankri bursts in to tell him that he should trust his feelings, [[IgnoredEpiphany allowing Cronus to avoid bettering himself in any way, shape, or form]].
** A similar situation happens to Horuss. When Meenah is about to explain why his belief that he's actually a musclebeast is daft and insane, Kankri walks in to 'defend' him, and outright ''[[InsaneTrollLogic agrees]]'' with Horuss.
* PoliticalOvercorrectness: To the extent that his dialogue becomes a labyrinth of euphemisms, buzzwords, lengthy tangents explaining potentially offensive slurs and why they shouldn't be used, nonsensical replacement words for said slurs that begin piling up on each other, acronyms and just plain old talk, talk, ''talk''. To the point where Skaianet has dubbed shipping him with Latula SOCIAL_JUSTICE!
* ThePowerofBlood: He is the Seer of Blood.
* RedHerring: There were some hints that he and Meulin had the same romantic red relationship as their A2-counterparts. This was promptly shot down when they appeared.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Even more than ''Kanaya'', and most of the light heroes, ''who have this as their hat''. He uses extremely complex vocabulary when he talks, and talks at great length as well, generally making a very impressive job at spinning grand speeches about nothing of consequence whatsoever.
* SingleIssueWonk: He is monomaniacally obsessed with social justice and largely refuses to talk about anything else.
* SkewedPriorities: Still obsessed with his semi-nonsensical faux-intellectual babble about Alternian and Beforan society, despite both planets being ''destroyed''. When called on this, he simply accuses the one doing the calling of being [[PoliticalOvercorrectness corporealist]].
* SlutShaming: Despite his PoliticalOvercorrectness, he engages in this with Porrim, who is ''not'' amused.
%%* SoapBoxSadie: Oh ''yes.''
* SpoiledBrat: Probably. Unlike some of his other teammates, it is never suggested that he was more kind. Taking into account how Beforus treats trolls like him. Is it any wonder that he grew up to be such a blowhard? Although, considering how the culling system treats those lower on the spectrum (or outside of it) and the disabled, it might also be a case of him hating being babied.
* StrawMisogynist: For someone so single-mindedly obsessed with social justice, he sure doesn't seem to have any qualms with dismissing feminism and slut-shaming the woman arguing for it - who, mind, is one of his ''teammates''.
* TakeThat: Against bad social justice bloggers - specifically the holier-than-thou hypocrites.
* TheUnreveal: Unlike Pyrope, his name is initially left mysterious... because Meenah has ''forgotten it''.
* VisualPun: Kankri, being a (not very good) social activist, calls out what he thinks of as corruption. He blows a whistle every time he does this. In essence, a whistleblower.
* WallOfText: His first chat log is just him rambling at Karkat. Later it becomes so dense it's impossible to ''read''.
* WindmillCrusader: Knows a lot of buzzwords and terminology; doesn't really understand how or where to apply it.
* YoureNotMyFather: As lampshaded by Porrim, thanks to their pseudo-mother/son relationship, when a cause comes around he could have fought against alongside her -- gender inequality -- he regularly belittles her concerns and uses his words as a shield to defend himself from any real societal repercussions largely just because it's ''her'' saying it. Driven home by the fact that his post-scratch alternate-universe version, the Sufferer (who was born into a CrapsackWorld and therefore actually had a cause) became a genuine respected hero who sacrificed his life for social change. Of course, not being a teenager probably helped, too. It's also implied that the Signless and Dolorosa have a more positive son-mother relationship.

[[MindControlEyes This telepathy helps her forget the codpiece's existence, although this is undoubtedly in part the result of chucklevoodoos at work.]]
* DisabledLoveInterest: For Kurloz.
* {{Flanderization}}: Like Cronus, she is an exaggerated version of how the fandom sees Nepeta. In her case this means an inability to think about ''anything'' except shipping and cat puns.
* GeniusDitz: She's incredibly ditzy but also apparently a ''very'' good shipper.
* GenkiGirl: If the way she types is any indication. Her signing is also pretty energetic.
* HiddenDepths: (Vriska) mentions that Meulin has dark memories- whether it's in regards to being mind-controlled by Kurloz or her past with him is unknown. She gets visibly dispirited when Meenah jokingly brings up Kurloz stitching his mouth.
* HighOnCatnip: She implies that she's abused catnip before when she attributes her memory loss from Kurloz's telepathy to it.
* InformedFlaw: She is apparently deaf, despite holding a conversation with Meenah perfectly well. Aside from shouting, that is. (She reads lips.)
* MeaningfulName: Meulin sounds like "mewling". It also sounds like "Merlin", given that she's a Mage.
* MoreThanMindControl: Maybe. She still apparently has some affection for Kurloz, to the point where she mayhaps willingly consents to chucklevoodoo-based telepathy in order to forget about Gamzee's codpiece.

* WeakWilled: Zig-zagged. With Kurloz, her actions with him and telepathy are partial of her volition. While it's not entirely her own will, she does consent to chucklevoodery in order to forget about Gamzee's codpiece. Meanwhile, Vriska's mind control does not have any ambiguities involving whether or not Meulin has any free will at all.
%%* WildHair: Like Nepeta's except longer.

* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: While everyone else has mostly practical clothing, she is wearing an evening dress with cleavage.
* LovableSexManiac: She's quite promiscuous, but not pushy with anyone who isn't interested (compare her with, say, Cronus). As a person, she's calm, intellectual and good-natured.
* MadonnaWhoreComplex: Pre-scratch Porrim blurs the lines between the two, being attractive and unabashedly promiscuous while also the friendly TeamMom. Her post-scratch self The Dolorosa and her descendant Kanaya are much closer to the Madonna side of this trope.
* MeaningfulName: Porrima (also known scientifically as Gamma Virginis) is one of the brightest stars in Virgo. The star's namesake is one of the Carmentae, the two assistants and sisters of Carmenta, the Roman goddess of childbirth and prophecy. It's also possible, by association with either Vashti or Esther, that the name's connected to [[UsefulNotes/JewishHolidays Purim]].
* MonochromaticEyes: Like all dead trolls, her eyes are plain white, but she can turn them pale yellow when turning on her rainbow-drinker brightness.
* MsFanservice: Probably the only character who's drawn to look this way ''intentionally'', right down to being the first (and, so far, only) character to be drawn with visible cleavage.
* MyBelovedSmother: Kankri thinks she's this and even does the act of telling her that she is "not [his] human mother". Porrim means well and makes sure he's presentable like making his sweater (and also because he's cold). But insisting on wiping grub sauce off his face for him may or may not remind Kankri of being babied by the cull system.
* NiceGirl: Unquestionably the nicest of the pre-Scratch trolls after Aranea's FaceHeelTurn. A key example of this is probably her having a perfectly pleasant discussion with Kanaya about the nature of their role in Troll society as jade-bloods, and how it's not necessarily as much of a shackle as they believe it to be.
* OnlySaneMan: With the questionable exceptions of Aranea and Rufioh. After Act 6 Act 6, she's beginning to share the role with Meenah and Rufioh instead of Aranea due to her FaceHeelTurn. Though considering how all of her friends are worshipping Lord English, emissaries of unspeakable horrors, emotionally manipulative jerks, [[MurderArsonAndJaywalking or]] [[SoapBoxSadie Kankri]], it's not hard for her to come off as the least unbalanced.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Like Kanaya, she's a Rainbow Drinker. It's not immediately obvious because she has learned how to control the glowiness that affects Kanaya, and can turn it on and off at will. [[DoingInTheWizard Apparently, it's an ability inherent to their blood caste]].
* ReallyGetsAround: She's noted to be very sexually free and implied to have slept with most other trolls in her session, a back-handed criticism Kankri lodges at her.
* SoapBoxSadie: She's concerned about the roles of gender, especially in regards to the blood castes and the duties they're assigned with, and is very sex-positive. This is to further contrast her with the rest of her group, whose personalities are built around one thing, especially Kankri, who is actually very biased, prejudiced, and hateful despite his constant claims of being a NiceGuy.
* SpaceMaster: She is the Maid of Space.
* StealthPun: Her o+ typing quirk, as well as making the symbol for the planet Venus and for femininity, can be read as 'o positive', referring to a common blood type. She's the troll version of a vampire.
* StrawFeminist: In contrast to Kankri, she [[AvertedTrope averts]] the conventions of a [[TheWarOnStraw Strawman]]. Kankri dismisses her problems with gender equality on Beforus as irrelevant, but Porrim makes very strong arguments about the inequality inherent in some caste systems while Kankri's argues that just not having very specialized roles of reproduction like humans is enough to offset Porrim's points, ignoring her other arguments.
* TeamMom: To everyone, but especially Kankri, which pre-echoes their post-Scratch role as adoptive mother and son.
* TookALevelInKindness: From Aranea's description of her, it can be inferred that she wasn't always the patient understanding mother-figure that she is now. Making the complete opposite emotional progress to her teammates.
* VampiresAreSexGods: If Kankri and Meenah are to be believed, Porrim was the most promiscuous of the Beforan trolls.

* AllLowercaseLetters: She types in all lowercase, as opposed to Terezi who types in all uppercase.
* CallBack:
** Contrast the difference between Dave and Dirk's CoolShades with Terezi and Latula's shades. Both post-Scratch individuals have pointy shades, while their pre-Scratch counterpoints have smoother ones.
** She's a female, ebullient version of a cool kid, a concept that Terezi is notably obsessed with.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Usually plays this role for Mituna, and Porrim appears to play this role for her.
* DisabilitySuperpower: Parodied with her being unable to smell, complete with ridiculous fake stories about how she learned to approximate smell through other senses.
* DissonantSerenity: An easy-to-miss scene in the third Act 6 Intermission 3 walkaround has her threaten Damara to stay away from Mituna on pain of death. Without changing her usual expression.
* DoesNotKnowHerOwnStrength: Her high-fives hit ''hard''.
* TheDitz: Took her a long time to realize how Meenah's plan worked with God Tiers.
* GamerChick: Even her walkaround theme is a remix of the goofy and deliberately obnoxious [=GameGrl=] track, which could be the trope's ''anthem.'' Her matesprit Mituna follows suit, as his theme is a remix of the [=GameBro=] track.
* GenkiGirl
* GenreSavvy: Initially dislikes Meenah because she believes she's competition for the role as the badass girl in their group, but then later decides that actually, Meenah is the [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Bad Girl]] to Latula's [[YouGoGirl Rad Girl]]. When she talks to Porrim a little after telling Meenah this and Porrim teases her, Latula calls for Meenah to come and dispense some cynicism.
* HiddenDepths: Finds it completely believable that she and Aranea would end up killing each other without offering why that would be, and is self-aware enough to be gleeful when Meenah's cynicism offsets her self-described "neuroses" and plays into the role Latula designated for her. Notably, Karkat thinks her persona is an act [[AttentionWhore to get attention]] and cover some part of herself that she dislikes, and Porrim believes she employs ObfuscatingStupidity.
* IdenticalGrandson: Like Aranea, her hairstyle seems to be a mix of Terezi and Vriska's. If Aranea's statement that she is "in a way" Terezi's ancestor is true, she may indeed be related to the Serkets.
* InformedFlaw: Karkat explicitly refers to her as an asshole, but altogether she's one of the nicer Dancestors and Karkat's just being his grouchy judgmental self. In spite of her loud persona, the only one she's ever hostile to is Damara which is more than a little justified knowing her.
* InterfaceScrew: Her sprite is a bit larger than others so her words are sometimes cut off by it.
* LargeHam: [[DeconstructedTrope Deconstructed]], both Porrim and Karkat see her personality as an obvious act.
* Letters2Numbers: Like Terezi, she replaces her a's with 4's, i's with 1's, and e's with 3's.
* MeaningfulName: Latula comes from "Tula," the Hindu counterpart of Libra. Also sounds like 'Lush Tula', a brand of skateboard. The Romanian word "latula" means noose or snare, referring to her previous self being Redglare.
* TheNicknamer: Not quite as much as Meenah, but hers are... memorable. She designates Meenah "Paycheck" and "Paystubs" and Porrim "Merrygamz"... which Porrim loathes, but prefers to "Pornstar".
* ObfuscatingStupidity: According to Porrim her ditzy behaviour is all an act, and Karkat believes she's attempting to hide her insecurities. Due to her title seemingly meaning something along the lines of "one who weaponizes or conceals thoughts, decisions and emotions", this may actually be a part of her Hero of Mind prowess manifesting on a massive scale.
%%* OfficialCouple: With Mituna.
%%* SingleIssueWonk:
%%* SpikyHair
* PsychicPowers: She is the Knight of Mind.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: With Mituna, but this may just be an artefact of their chat sprites.
* TotallyRadical: ''Loves'' this. Especially the word "r4d"; the nickname "Radglare" appears in Meenah's internal hashtags.
* UnresolvedSexualTension: Despite the fact that Latula's been dating Mituna for ages, there are some unresolved feelings between her and Kankri (similar to the relationship between Karkat and Terezi, as [[LampshadedTrope lampshaded]] by Aranea during her exposition)
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Her reaction to Damara approaching Mituna is to cheerily threaten Damara with death if she so much as touches him. Then again, it ''is'' [[{{Jerkass}} Dam]][[{{Yandere}} ara]].
* XtremeKoolLetterz: She believes that the letter Z is extremely rad.
* YouGoGirl: She's both a parody and a regular example of a too-cool-for-school, skateboarding, leet-speaking "grrl".

The first shown Beforan troll met by Jake briefly after blacking out. She is the pre-Scratch iteration of Marquise Spinneret Mindfang (Vriska's ancestor). She was the '''Sylph of Light''' of her session.

->Uses with proper punctuation and grammar.
->[=Su8stitutes=] her b's with the num8er 8 as Vriska does, 8ut not with sylla8les unless she gets worked up.
->Doesn't have an over-dramatic style of speech, instead of going for an overly-long winded style of speech.
->Uses 8-eyed emoticons. ::::)
----
* AbortedArc: Once John gets a sense of direction of how to properly {{Retcon}} the session from Terezi, the first thing he does is to make sure that he never loses the Ring Of Life, preventing her resurrection and thereby preventing the dooming of the timeline that she was responsible for.
* AffablyEvil: She remains consistently polite and apologetic when she becomes an antagonist.
* AndIMustScream: Aranea ''does not'' enjoy having her soul partially ripped out.
* AntiVillain: She legitimately wants to keep things from getting worse, but her method of achieving this is basically to wreck everyone else's plans and either incapacitate or outright ''kill'' anyone who gets in her way.
* ApologeticAttacker: Sure, she has to sabotage the kids' session if her plot to get rid of Lord English is going to work, but that doesn't mean she has to be ''rude'' about it. This is completely dropped by [S] GAME OVER, in which she mercilessly starts killing people without showing any sign of remorse.
%%* ArcVillain: Of the latter half of Act 6.
* AssholeVictim: When you are murdered at the hands of the Condesce and ''she'' is the sympathetic one (showing fury and sorrow at the deaths of Jade and Jane, even when she is similarly at fault in the situation), you've got problems.
* AsYouKnow: {{Parodied|Trope}}; she's more than willing to provide exposition on the various Trolls of Beforus. Of course, Meenah already knows all of the information that Aranea is compulsively explaining, and the only reason Meenah puts up with Aranea's long speeches is that [[OnlyInItForTheMoney she gets paid for it]].
* BackFromTheDead: She uses John's Ring of Life to bring herself back to corporeality and physical life.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: She wanted to be strong, independent, and not care as much about what other people thought of her. The Scratch gave her that wish, at least vicariously, in the form of the life of Mindfang... but she readily admits that the price of the [[CrapsackWorld other]] effects of the Scratch make it [[WasItReallyWorthIt not worth it]]. Not to mention, while ''Mindfang'' got to have an amazing life, ''Aranea'' didn't. This did not make her happy.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's more ruthless than her cheerful, personable façade lets on.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She used to be considered one of the nicest characters in the comic until the reveal of her dark side in Act 6.
* BreakTheHaughty: Starting with Brain Ghost Dirk's AgonyBeam on her, she loses her composure and is much less on top of things than she was before. Then she got beaten up by a Tiaratop controlled Jane who was sleeping through the whole thing. Then, after performing several [[ColonyDrop Colony Drops]] on LOFAF and others, during which she looks [[MadEye utterly insane]], she is found by Her Imperious Condescension, who proceeds to grab her by the neck, knock the ring of life out of her finger, and snap her neck. Her final confused look as her ghost falls into the flames is proof of how broken she is after seeing her plan fall apart around her.
* CallBack: Her hair is a mix of Vriska, John, and Terezi's.
** The Sufferer's necklace is a reference to a line in Mindfang's journal, where she found the Sufferer's tale "compelling".
* TheChessmaster: She claims to have methodically thought out how to enact her entire plan, and her actions taken to show that her effort certainly isn't half-assed.
* CrystalDragonJesus: She wears a small Cancer symbol around her neck, and it's even visible on her sprite. Notably, Mindfang was ''not'' a follower of the Sufferer.
* CuteLittleFangs: Per [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/4582 her first appearance]].
* DeadpanSnarker: At times, particularly when describing some of the less desirable aspects of her friends.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Once [[SpannerInTheWorks Brain Ghost Dirk]] appears, she attempts to try and compensate for the sudden change in the plan by taunting Dirk into doing what she wants him to do - through his own course of action ends up ''[[YourSoulIsMine seriously]]'' messing hers up.
** Following her release from Dirk's control, she tries to put Jane to sleep... But Jane is still able to fight her unconsciously.
** Later on, Her Imperious Condescension arrives. She utters '[[PrecisionFStrike oh shit]]' and realizes her plan is ''fucked''. Then, throughout [S] Game Over and the beginning of [=A6A6I3=], she desperately tries, yet fails to keep her plan in action. She instead gets [[NeckSnap Neck Snapped]] by the Condesce herself.
* DiesWideOpen: You can actually see her eyes change from yellow troll eyes to standard white ghost eyes as she falls into The Forge.
* DissonantSerenity: Most of the actions that she takes when she enters the Session is done with a wide grin on her face. It would typically come across as a SlasherSmile under any other character, but she just looks so ''collected'' through most of it all.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: Even her closest friends Meenah and Vriska, who love her, don't respect her at all. Aranea's recent actions are at least partly a result of this kind of treatment.
* TheEmpath: The basic form of her psychic abilities. Ironic, really, considering her startling LackOfEmpathy.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: She switches over to an evil PimpedOutDress before entering the Alpha Session.
* EvilCounterpart: Double inverted. At first, Aranea is very much set up to be Vriska's Good Counterpart, being sweet, mild-mannered, and wholly helpful to the protagonists. Then she outs it all as one big act in the name of her grand scheme, and it turns out she may very well be ''worse'' than Vriska, who has shown herself to at least have the capacity for guilt and remorse.
* EvilGloating: So much of it once she shows up in the session. It irritates Roxy and Dirk.
* ExpositionFairy: She even sets up a ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}''-style exposition booth where she'll pay you to listen to her give exposition. Bonus points for having actual fairy wings.
** By the second walkaround, it's suggested that giving exposition is a serious addiction for her, to the point where she's neglected searching for Calliope's ghost in favour of boring her friends by explaining stuff they already knew. This takes a slightly less pleasant turn when Meenah implies that the only reason Aranea cares so much about explaining things was that she wanted to be considered the important one for being "the source of all that critical M-EANING".
** It's made especially notable by the fact that she's one of the only major characters one has never been able to "play" as, which initially presents her as little more than a source of exposition (though it later turns out that there's quite a bit more to her than that).
* FauxAffablyEvil: Aranea's apologetic towards the humans may be an act; she seems to be rehearsing to be a villain when she takes the Ring of Life and later calls herself "just some no8ody" to intentionally antagonize Jane.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Her explicit reason for wanting to take action with her audacious plan (besides getting rid of English once and for all) is because she was tired of only being a background character while everyone else got to live such interesting lives. On the other hand, Vriska (who has always been a nightmare) has doubts about both Aranea's plan and her change of character:
-->VRISKA: You can't just 8e a 8ookish dwee8 all your life, then suddenly decide to [[IJustWantToBeBadAss flip the 8adass switch]] and expect people to take you seriously.
* GloryHound: According to Meenah, she was always this:
-->MEENAH: what shes doin now isnt much different from how she always did stuff\
MEENAH: the stuff she does is never about the things shes actually doing\
MEENAH: its about what those things M-EAN and makin sure everyone KNOWS what they mean\
MEENAH: and above all makin sure everyone understands how important she is cause shes obviously the source of all that critical M-EANING without which all action would be pointless right?
* AGodAmI: What she claims to be, having millions of years to hone her abilities and being a godtier, she plans to essentially hijack the multiverse and make it fit her whims.
* GotMeDoingIt: It takes all of five minutes of being with Meenah again for Aranea to start making fish puns again herself.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: She wreaked havoc when she shoehorned herself into the session just so she could try and stop Lord English.
* HealingHands:
** As a Sylph, her abilities include this.
** She cures Terezi's blindness, giving her back the light in her eyes Vriska stole.
** She later heals Jake so he can reach his full potential - forcibly. It results in a hopesplosion so gigantic, that its excess brightness is seen by everyone in the humans' alpha session.
* TheHeavy: Vriska reveals that, as far as the whole "Ghost Army" plot goes, she was the one controlling most of the ghosts - Vriska just tried to take some of the credit for it in an effort to try and connect with her ancestor.
* HellishPupils: She has an eye with seven pupils, like Vriska. It comes back to an uncanny effect when she comes back to life.
* HypocriticalHumor: She admits to a tendency for self-aggrandization and always turning discussions back towards herself while doing ''exactly'' that in a conversation with Terezi. The latter [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] it, describing her as a "nicer" Vriska, who has the same proclivities.
* IJustWantToBeBadass: See BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor above.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: She reveals she also wants to live a "special" life-like Mindfang's after coming back to life.
* IdenticalGrandson: Aranea's hairstyle vaguely resembles a mixture of Vriska's and Terezi's. She also implies that she is related to the latter.
* ItsALongStory: {{Subverted}}. Aranea warns that the story surrounding her team's death is a long one that requires "major contextualization", before being shut up by Meenah's hand over her mouth. Meenah then proceeds to give a version of the story so short it gives the word 'abridged' a whole new meaning.
** And then, having hit her RageBreakingPoint, Aranea summarizes to Meenah the stories of their A2 counterparts in a single dialougelog.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Aranea plans to perform an act of great healing that will destroy Lord English forever -- in fact, ensuring he never existed. Vriska manipul8ed events to create an unstoppable foe, inserting herself into the established timeline, with the end-goal of defeating him as gloriously as possible. Their plans have two things in common. One is that they're very, very bad plans. The other is that, no matter what either of them might claim, they have nothing to do with helping anyone else and everything to do with putting their respective Serkets front and centre.
* KarmicDeath: When Her Imperious Condescension finally got her hands on Aranea, she removed the Ring of Life from her hand and had her fall to her death into the inferno below. Typically, her Godtier powers would allow her to be resurrected after such an event, but it was ruled that her death was "Just" - and she's got ''plenty'' of irons in the fire back at the Dreambubble from whence she came. Particularly karmic in that the way she died (being killed in such a way that would prevent herself from resurrecting) directly mirrors that of the first person she killed, Jade.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Not only is her death instigated by an alternate version of the best friend she betrayed, but her dreams of glory are thrown out the window afterwards, as she's all but forgotten after the CosmicRetcon.
* LightEmUp: She is the Sylph of Light.
* LightIsNotGood: In spite of her status as the Sylph of Light, there are serious questions about her sanity and her plan to heal the multiverse may not even be possible, and if it succeeds, she's made mention of pruning things she doesn't like from the future and essentially becoming God.
* TheManBehindTheMan: She manipulated Gamzee into bringing her back to life, and she implies that she's given him commands before.
* MeaningfulName: ''Aranea'' is a genus of garden-variety orb-weaver spiders. It's also Latin for spiderweb.
** Vriska's last name of Serket was always somewhat unusual since Serket was a god of healing (Vriska is as far from a healer as you can imagine). However, Aranea shares the same last name as Vriska and has some sort of healing powers from being the Sylph of Light.
** She has revealed her light powers can possibly heal a doomed timeline and make it into the alpha timeline thanks to an eternity of practicing with them.
* MindControl: She is capable of mind-controlling other trolls like Vriska, and demonstrated her abilities on Gamzee. Her powers are even a good order of magnitude stronger than Vriska's. However, like the latter, she can only make non-trolls fall unconscious and the subject can still be controlled by someone else.
* AMindIsATerribleThingToRead: A consequence of being TheEmpath is that you know when people are having negative thoughts about you.
* MindOverManners: This is apparently standard behaviour for emotion readers; it's just hard for them to think that feelings should be secret when you can sense them all the time. She also apologizes to Jake for imposing on his personal boundaries by attempting to kiss him. [[HypocriticalHumor Then she "heals" his mind without asking]].
* MinidressOfPower: Always wears a short dress. It's one of the ways how Meenah differentiates her and Vriska until the two get to know each other better.
* MirrorCharacter: Aranea's habit of playing the ExpositionFairy to increase her own importance is exactly the same as how Vriska wanted to be the driving force behind every major development in her own Sgrub session. Additionally, Aranea's plan to save the session is essentially the same as Vriska's plan to create and beat Jack Noir; even if she ends up loathed, she'll make everyone and everything about her ultimate victory. The main difference between them is that Aranea generally avoids acting against others; that is, until Vriska inspires her to act otherwise.
* MrExposition: She very dearly loves to ramble, at very great length, about the many esoteric subjects she knows a great deal about. She loves it so much, in fact, that she will ''pay'' others to let her make an exposition dump.
* MySensorsIndicateYouWantToTapThat:
-->JAKE: Youve sensed it when other fellas have had the hots for you eh?\
ARANEA: Fellows, yes. [[EveryoneIsBi And ladies]]. It's happened.
* {{Narcissist}}: No matter how much she preaches the greater good, all of Aranea's actions in Act 6 and beyond are just cogs in a transparent attempt to make herself relevant -- a self-interest so all-consuming, she even throws away her best friend in pursuing it.
%%* NeckSnap: How she checks out, courtesy of the Condesce.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: She's spent "a long time" mastering her God tier and psychic abilities - whatever she can't do, she can mind-control someone else to do for her.
* NiceGirl: Easily one of the most polite characters in the series, in stark contrast with her Post-Scratch descendant, Vriska. [[BitchInSheepsClothing However, the truth is a little more complicated than that.]]
* NiceJobFixingItVillain:
** Allowing Jake to gain powers via Hopesplosion ends up making Brain Ghost Dirk real, leading to the start of her own downfall.
** Her entire plan doomed the timeline - but this is a ''good'' thing because it also allowed for John, Roxy, and Terezi to uncover their full potential, thereby preventing her plan from occurring in the first place via {{Retcon}}.
* NoKillLikeOverkill: Aranea was choked by the Condesce while she plucked the Ring of Life off her finger, then was promptly disposed of via a neck snap and dropped into The Forge, burning up her corpse.
* NotGrowingUpSucks: Vriska notes that Mindfang was able to do the sort of things that Aranea wants to do not because she had the ambition, but because she was an adult and would be able to take on the responsibilities that her actions would bring about. She observes that, though Aranea had plenty of time to think about her plan, she didn't reach the level of maturity consider what it would do to everyone else or what could happen if it went wrong.
* NotSoAboveItAll: When she throws a huge fit after Meenah interrupts her story.
* NotSoStoic:
** Is shown to have the "patience of a saint" in most of her appearances, and then she promptly [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/4984 flips her shit]] when she finds the rest of the dream bubble gathering she assembled in utter pandemonium by the time she returns with Jake.
** Her expression when Brain Ghost Dirk rips her soul out [[http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=008646 must be seen to be believed]].
** And by [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/6901 [S] Game Over]], all stoicism is gone. While in the throes of a VillainousBreakdown as her grand plan falls to bits, she starts killing players left and right while she and the Condesce start ''hurling planets'' at each other.
* OddFriendship: Aranea, who is ([[SubvertedTrope at first]]) one of the nicest and most level-headed pre-scratch trolls is best friends with [[AxCrazy Ax Crazy]] [[SociopathicHero Sociopathic Hero]] Meenah.
* OhCrap:
** She looks completely ''[[http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=008646 terrified]]'' when Dirk takes her soul out of her body.
** She has another when Jane starts sleep-attacking her.
** And another when The Condesce shows up.
** Her scream as the Condesce throttles her is a big one, and appropriate, given she dies not long after.
* OnlySaneMan: Subverted, while she seemed definitely less sane then [[TeamMom Porrim]], but far more level-headed than the rest of the pre-scratch trolls except Rufioh, her grand plan and villain reveal has made it clear that she's worse than most of them.
* PhysicalGod: Like her dancestor, she had ascended to the God Tiers.
* PimpedOutDress: Compared to the Beta trolls' BoringButPractical outfits. It also seems to be an inversion of the typical plain black troll shirt with their symbol in their blood colour, as her dress is all-blue (seemingly her blood colour) with a plain white symbol, similar to Meulin's mostly-Olive top and Cronus's white shirt.
** It's also very similar (possibly even a reference) to the white fairy dress Vriska once wore.
** Later replaced with an equally pimped out, Mindfang-inspired minidress.
* PowersViaPossession: Like Vriska, {{inverted}}. She can steal the powers of other trolls with MindControl and does so repeatedly with a group of Damaras in a dream bubble to simulate MindOverMatter abilities.
* PragmaticVillainy: When Roxy is about to cause trouble for her, Aranea simply puts her to sleep rather than disabling or killing her.
* ProductPlacement: Her necklace seems to be a picture of the one actually available in the ''What Pumpkin'' store.
* PsychicPowers: Like Vriska, she's an [[TheEmpath empath]] and [[MindControl mind-controller]], but is much more developed in both areas.
%%* RageBreakingPoint: [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/5002 This.]]
* SanitySlippage: All throughout [S] Game Over, watching her EvilPlan fall apart causes Aranea to rapidly lose her composure until she [[VillainousBreakdown just loses it]] and starts tossing planets around.
* SelfInflictedHell: Boy, are Vriska, Meenah, and a whole lot of other people going to be pissed if she returns to the Dreambubbles.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: All heroes of light tend to blabber a lot, and Aranea goes above and beyond the call of duty.
* ShootTheDog: She ''sees'' her solution to the problem of Grimbark Jade as this, noting that she would just regain her dark powers as soon as she regained consciousness, but her manipulation of the Godtier's resurrection system puts this more along the lines of KickTheDog.
* SingleIssueWonk: Rambling about various obscure subjects; for most of the dream bubbles arc, this is her only interest. Aranea loves talking so much that she'll pay others to listen.
* SmugSnake: She's particularly arrogant, and it irritates Roxy and Dirk. She's also overlooked Dirk's powers both as a Prince and a Heart Player and she underestimated the technology available to the Condesce.
* TheSociopath: Of everyone in the series, Aranea might just be the most perfect example of this, barring one point of argument. She's a master of [[FauxAffablyEvil superficial charm]], fooling literally everyone she meets into buying her kind, gregarious outward mask, but what lay beneath is someone with [[LackOfEmpathy absolutely no capacity for guilt]] and [[ManipulativeBastard a nearly deific talent for manipulation and]] MindRape, all put into use in the good name of assuaging Aranea's boredom and [[ItsAllAboutMe making her relevant]]. The only major point of contention against this is Aranea's apparently genuine affection for Meenah and Vriska, but even those two she ultimately throws away when she decides to value her plan more.
* SpannerInTheWorks: She tries to become one to Lord English's creation, the Condesce's plan, and the Alpha Timeline itself. Brain Ghost Dirk and Jane's Crocker-corruption become one to her plan.
* SpiritAdvisor: The truest example of the trope in ''Homestuck'' yet... Until she decides to get in on the Session herself.
* StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred: She requests that Dirk should try and cut her arm off. [[GenreSavvy He knows better than to do that.]]
* SupportPartyMember: {{Deconstructed}}. She was this back in her session, as the Sylph class is naturally suited for healing and supportive roles. She ''hated'' being relegated to the back lines and wanted to be more relevant like her fellow Trolls, which ultimately culminates in her destructive, Alpha timeline-derailing plan.
* TimeAbyss: She's spent so much time in the Furthest Ring that time no longer has much meaning to her.
* TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential: She can do this by healing the wounds in someone's mind and does it to unlock Jake's full power as a Page of Hope.
* TrueSight: Sees right through Roxy's {{Invisibility}}. The reason for this is never provided in-comic but is presumably related to being either a god-tiered Light hero, being an empath that possibly felt Roxy's anger at her, or both.
* VillainousBreakdown: She ''loses her goddamn mind'' after the Condesce ruins her plans.
* WalkingSpoiler: More than any other character in her own CastHerd. Pretty much everything the reader is lead to believe about her is thrown completely out the window by Act 6 Act 6 Act 2.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She plans on preventing Lord English from coming into being by messing with the timeline, and then using her Sylph of Light powers to make it into the alpha timeline after it becomes doomed. Then she plans on making countless other universes she intends to watch over and prevent the rise of someone else like him from ever happening.
-->ARANEA: I'm going to take over this session.\
ARANEA: And then I am going to make sure it never 8ears fruit.\
ARANEA: If I can stop this universe from 8eing cre8ted, then the young Lord of Time will never have hatched in the first place...
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: As of John's interference, her plan never happened. However, she hasn't appeared or even been mentioned since then and (Vriska)'s existence reveals that dream-ghosts were unaffected by the CosmicRetcon. Seeing as Aranea's ghost fell into the Forge after the Condesce killed her, it's ''possible,'' that she's [[DeaderThanDead double dead]], though that is still unclear.

The pre-Scratch incarnation of Darkleer (Equius' ancestor). He is the '''Page of Void''' of his session.

--> Starts all sentences with 8=D <, meant to symbolize a horse's face, along with other elaborate horse faces and Shift-JIS emotes.
--> Capitalizes STRONG and all related words/derivatives. Writes "blue" as "b100" and censors all --> profanities using asterisks. ("Profanities" including words like "fudge" and "shoot")
--> Replaces "x" and "ks" sounds with %. Uses frequent, almost obsessive horse puns. Perfect grammar and synta% otherwise.

----
* BigDamnKiss: It's implied this happened offscreen between him and Rufioh's [[CallBack decapitated head in front of an erupting volcano]].
* BlessedWithSuck: As the Page of Void, he was limitless potential from nothingness. However, that nothingness defined him far more than his potential in the end.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He sees nothing wrong with his behaviour despite it frightening his friends, such as building Rufioh a metallic horse body in order to become closer to his physical ideal.
* EmptyShell: He thought he was this. Then he began to listen to the void inside him. Then he went pretty much batshit insane.
* {{Flanderization}}: Equius had a rather complicated personality for a minor character, which fans were fascinated with but which was actually [[WordOfGod just a pastiche of things Hussie found amusing in the past]]. Horuss worked to create himself from a blank slate to a very complicated individual but failed to recreate himself as anyone of substance.
* {{Fetish}}: Implied to have a horse fetish.
** It gets creepy when he rebuilds Rufioh's body as a horse to be more like his ideal.
* GadgeteerGenius: Even more so than Equius, if that were possible. He even has strength-dampening equipment to sidestep some of the [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength issues]] Equius faced.
* InnocentInnuendo: The 8=D he prefixes all his speech with is supposed to be his goggles, the nose-gap in his helm, and his smiling mouth. Not a penis.
** That's nothing: Every single time he uses it, he adds a "<" afterwards, one assumes to provide a break. It gets worse when he wants to show "sweat" dripping off his face. As Troll biology is... weird, and almost nothing is known about troll genitalia, maybe none of them even knows exactly what this all means, but they're all incredibly skeeved by it, unless troll reproductive organs include a penis, or something similar.
** He also has a tendency to describe things in a much more physically and intimately passionate manner than is strictly necessary.
%%* IJustWantToBeSpecial: According to Aranea.
%%-->"Yet in spite of all he worked to make something of himself, he amounted to very little. Responsible for neither great feats of heroism nor acts of villainy, he was just another game piece to be moved about the board. The aspect ruling his life would always conspire to dampen his relevance."
%%* MadScientist
* MagikarpPower: Deconstructed. While MagikarpPower is an inherent feature of all Pages, attempting to achieve it drove him mad by listening to the Void inside him.
* MeaningfulName: "Horuss" sounds a lot like "Horse". It also suggests the [[Myth/EgyptianMythology Egyptian god Horus]], though this was probably not why the name was chosen; all the same, it has to be pointed out that practically every major god in the Egyptian pantheon was part-animal.
* ObliviousGuiltSlinging: When Rufioh attempts to break up with him, though it's unknown whether his obliviousness is genuine.
* ThePollyanna: He tries really hard to [[InvokedTrope invoke]] this, having resolved to bury his insecurities under a mountain of positive thinking. Meenah remembered him as a dour sort and is taken aback by his permanent smile and fixedly cheery demeanour. It doesn't last long under her watch, though.
* PowerOfTheVoid: His abilities as a Page of Void was to literally become a BlankSlate, with limitless potential springing from nothing. He did become quite the RenaissanceMan, but over time, his own abilities (with some outside help from Meulin encouraging his StepfordSmiler nature) drove him insane.
* RenaissanceMan: According to Aranea, he's a very talented man.
* SanitySlippage: He used to be a JerkWithAHeartOfGold who was kinda boring but nonetheless Rufioh liked him. Then he decided to better himself and became a RenaissanceMan. But over the course of thousands of sweeps, listening to the [[EmptyShell Void within him]] drove him insane.
* SplitPersonality: He beliefs himself to be multiple systems of several ancestral horse spirits.
* StealthPun:
** He has a ''pony'' tail.
** His helmet leaves a fringe of hair sticking out that resembles a horse's mane.
** Not very subtle, but his Page of Void title makes him an [[BlankSlate empty page]] in the philosophical sense.
* SteamPunk: Being a Zahhak, the steam is of ''course'' made of his own sweat.
* StepfordSmiler: Meulin advises him to force himself to smile all the time, but fully admits that it's just an act and that he's really repressing his true feelings. In another flavour of the trope, beneath his grumpy true nature is a ''lot'' of crazy. Beneath ''that'' is an EmptyShell. Hussie hit all three types of StepfordSmiler in one character.
* ThinkHappyThoughts: He is initially encouraged to, although he just ends up weirding people out.

The pre-Scratch incarnation of the Grand Highblood (Gamzee's ancestor). He was the '''Prince of Rage''' of his session.

-->Normally "speaks" via mime, reaction gifs and clown smilies :o)
-->USES ALARMING PURPLE-ON-BLACK TEXT WHEN "TALKING" ABOUT HIS LORD
----
* AbortedArc: Kurloz does make a surprising return after his introduction. After Vriska sheds her pirate coat, Kurloz captchalogues it. The coat's design along with his multi-colour Miracle Modus strongly suggests that this was the inception of Lord English's Cairo Overcoat. Kurloz never confronts Vriska and the coat is never seen again.
* AffablyEvil: His psychic conversations show that his eerily polite behaviour isn't just an act.
* AmicableExes: With Meulin, though the MindManipulation he's been shown to use on her makes it somewhat questionable.
* AnimeHair: His huge horns don't even show up in his silhouette.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: Zigzagged. When he finally DOES speak, he talks as if he's leading a sermon, but he mixes it up with Juggalo-speech and SophisticatedAsHell.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Initially depicted as a quirky mime, he is in fact just as evil as sober Gamzee and is actually conspiring with said descendant to bring about Lord English's victory. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Also to give Gamzee his now-signature codpiece]].
* BodyHorror: He chewed off his own tongue and [[MouthStitchedShut his mouth is sewn shut]].
* DarkSecret: Everything about him, he keeps hidden from his former teammates just as religiously as his devotion to Lord English.
* TheDragon: One of the many ones to Lord English, working with his alternate, Gamzee. His manipulations along with Meenah's aggression are the biggest reasons his session is so messed up.
* DevilInPlainSight: He looks evil, continually schemes, and when Aranea mentions her distrust in him it's a gag rather than a real suspicion.
* ElectiveMute: He voluntarily sewed his mouth shut after deafening Meulin.
* EnemyMime: He's got a mime motif, with face paint and silence complementing his ancestor's MonsterClown look.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He still seems to care for Meulin even after breaking up with her and going insane.
* EvilGenius: He's been meticulously guarding his memories against everyone else for as many sweeps as they've been inside the dream bubble.
* FlippingTheBird: He does this to Meenah in one of the Openbound segments.
* GenreSavvy: As a servant of Lord English, Kurloz pretty much needs to be this in order to avoid any possibility of his plans being derailed. Outside of Lord English-related schemes, Kurloz also helps Meulin with kismeses as far as her shipping chart. He's noted to be surprisingly accurate and his predictions about kismeses become real.
* GenerationXerox: Like Gamzee, he's had a FreakOut that's made him evil. The difference is that Gamzee's FreakOut made him initially abandon his religion only to come back more resolute, while Kurloz's faith became stronger without abandoning it.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: His eyes glow purple when using the chucklevoodoos.
* LooksLikeCesare: His facepaint helps to emphasize this effect, complete with white paint, dark rings around the eyes, and hair so big that Meenah claims having to give him a wide berth.
* MeaningfulName: His name sounds like the Chinese word for "Skeletons"; not only is he wearing a skeleton suit, but the zodiac body part of Capricorn is the skeleton.
* MessyHair: In his silhouetted minisprite, it's almost as ''wide as he is tall''.
* TheMole: He's heavily implied to have been aiding Lord English in the Beforus session.
* MindManipulation: The first time we see his true colours is when Meulin gives him the codpiece he wanted. He takes control of her mind, causing her eyes to glow shades of purple, and has her praise to Lord English.
* ObviouslyEvil: Is TheReveal that he's evil shocking, considering his SkeletonsInTheCoatCloset bodysuit? On the other hand, his teammates are all GenreBlind to this, considering him a harmless mime.
%%* PurpleIsPowerful: His chucklevoodoo and mind control powers trounce Gamzee's.
* ThePowerOfHate: He is the Prince of Rage.
* ReligionOfEvil: He religiously worships Lord English and Cherubs in general.
* SkeletonMotif: Kurloz, one of the most unambiguously evil characters in the story (and arguably the evilest troll of all), wears a sweatshirt with a skeleton torso on it. This connects him with the main villain, Lord English, who's essentially the Hulk's skeleton. This might also be a stealthy reference to the associated body part of Capricorn being the skeleton.
* {{Telepathy}}: Possibly; he manages to have direct dialogue with Meulin despite her deafness and his sewed mouth. Considering Meulin seems to have no recollection of the incident, it's very likely he was telecommunicating.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Of all the morally dubious Pre-Scratch Trolls, he's at the top, he lacks a sympathetic goal like Meenah and Aranea and he is the most active schemer against the party, unlike Damara.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: According to Aranea, he and Meulin used to be in a stable and happy matespritship until Kurloz had a nightmare, after which he screamed loudly enough to deafen Meulin. This incident prompted him to chew off his own tongue and sew his mouth shut. It's hinted this "nightmare" was the beginning of his worship of Lord English.
* TheVoiceless: He communicates exclusively through "mimes", which is essentially just sign language.

->uses 8's for capital B's.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Towards Meenah and, implicitly, every other one of the Pre-Scratch Trolls. No one wants to get near him, for [[{{Jerkass}} understandable reasons.]]
* AttentionWhore: Most of the things he does are for attention, as he and Meenah both point out. He claims to identify as a human, specifically a 1950's era greaser, but seems to say this for attention and he only kept the charade going because Kankri put him on the spot.
* TheBully: He harasses Mituna, a brain-damaged troll, when he [[HatesBeingTouched keeps patting his shoulder even though he tells him to stop,]] and treats him like a friend, that is, until he gets angry at him and rudely insults him, even for Meenah getting angry for him treating Mituna badly, which had nothing to do with Mituna as he was the victim.
* TheChosenOne: According to Aranea, he thought he was destined to fight an evil wizard who scarred him. He gives up on this at some point before his death and becomes more productive and universally well-liked.
* ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve: He is the Bard of Hope.
* DoggedNiceGuy: [[DeconstructedTrope Deconstructed]] -- [[EntitledToHaveYou He acts superficially nice because he wants sex]].
* EntitledToHaveYou: Acts this way on a regular basis.
* {{Flanderization}}: Of some of Eridan's [[{{Jerkass}} more negative traits]]. Like Eridan, Cronus had romantic issues with Peixes which went south. Unlike Feferi with Eridan, [[VitriolicBestBuds Meenah seems to at least stop Cronus from grilling Mituna, while also being able to partially have a pleasant enough conversation]]. Like Eridan, he has little to no success regarding his romantic advances. Like ''fanon'' Eridan, he tries to hit on anything that moves, and does so through head games and put-downs with [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace a side order of way too much touching]]. The misconception of Eridan saying "nyeh" is turned into an AscendedMeme when Cronus says it near the end of the Openbound he is in.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk And it really isn't hard to see why]].
* GagPenis: Being a Bard, his god-tier robes feature a codpiece of questionable size. An Eridan in the Ministrife is unlucky enough to have a god-tier Cronus get a little too close for comfort.
%%* GreaserDelinquents
* HateSink: InUniverse, Hussie refers to Cronus as being the worst character in ''Homestuck''.
* {{Hipster}}: Implied in a few of his song title choices, while pitching them to Meenah.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: As a Bard of Hope, Cronus is skilled at causing others to doubt their hopes and happiness, seen best through his verbal beatdown on Mituna, particularly the part where he tries to convince him that Latula only loves him out of pity. His actions also help invite the destruction of his own hopes -- Meenah gleefully steals and destroys his cherished belongings, almost everyone he knows wants little to do with him and Hussie cons him into a date just to score a ride on his lusus. Aranea also states that somebody rendered him quite jaded after they crushed his dreams of becoming a powerful wizard and his belief in magic.
* HornyBard: While {{Averted|Trope}} in the case of Gamzee Makara (the Bard of Rage), this trope is played straight with the Bard of Hope, Cronus Ampora. Cronus's flirt with everyone around him remains unrequited, though, since he is a complete {{Jerkass}}.
* IgnoredEpiphany: He admits that this whole "humankin"-greaser thing might just another cry for attention and perhaps he ought to change who he is (if only to have a chance with Meenah), but fortunately [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Kankri shows up to tell him to trust his feelings and never doubt himself]].
* JerkassHasAPoint: When Meenah calls him out on picking on Mituna, he counters that she shouldn't have a problem with it, what with her idolizing her post-scratch self, who did a ''lot'' worse to Mituna's post-scratch self. Meenah can't come up with an effective rebuttal.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: He tries to prove to Meenah that he isn't all that bad... Only to immediately follow it up with by bullying Mituna.
* KickTheDog: Invading the personal space of the guy with a traumatic brain injury who HatesBeingTouched and is telling you very loudly and clearly to keep your hands to yourself is a good way to instantly label yourself as a skeevy asshole.
* LargeHam: He's pretty dramatic when you think about it.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Meenah will break his Ahab's Crosshairs if she gets her hands on it in Openbound, while Hussie goes on a date with him just to fly away on his lusus and later refer to him as the worst character in Homestuck. It's almost as if his actions fulfil his mythological role by inviting the destruction of his hopes.
* MeaningfulName: In Rome, the Titan Cronus is known as Saturn. In astrology, Saturn is traditionally known as the ruling planet of Aquarius.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: He continues patting Mituna's shoulder when Mituna tells him repeatedly and with unusual coherence to stop doing so. Cronus' attempts at reassurance just make it creepier.
* PrinceCharmingWannabe: Blatantly and spectacularly bad at it.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Delivers an incredibly cruel one to Mituna, telling him that he's "a reject on a team full of rejects", that Latula only dates him out of pity and that ''no one'' could ever genuinely love him. [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Meenah gets disgusted with him over it]], and she promptly turns the tables on him by giving him a verbal smackdown of her own.
* SmokingIsCool: He carries a cigarette in his mouth, but it's just [[RuleOfCool to look cool]]. He doesn't actually light it up, since he considers that to be a waste of a perfectly good cig. It goes with his human 1950s greaser schtick, along with the white shirt that mimics the white shirts the human characters tend to wear as default.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Dear goodness, he makes Eridan look like a ShrinkingViolet. Along with his highly unsuccessful sexual escapades, Aranea's exposition of him contains points such as Cronus believing he was born to become a magnificent magician and to take down "an extraordinarily evil magician", presumably Lord English; a la Harry Potter and Voldemort.
* TheSociopath: And how.
* StealthPun: Maybe unintentional, but he combines a double lightning scar (alongside other elements of the ''Literature/HarryPotter'' mythos) with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK63eUyk-iM the aesthetic of a 50s greaser]].
* TakeThat: He's meant to mime the sort of people who, despite being flagrant douches, insist that they're "the nice, sensitive one" being tormented and rejected by the cruel masses. He's also one to the "pickup artist" community, showing off just how sleazy in practice "negging" and deliberately faking bonding (e.g. touching someone familiarly) actually is.
* TookALevelInJerkass: According to Aranea, he used to be marginally nicer before someone gave him a BreakingSpeech and made him realize magic wasn't real.
* UnsoundEffect: [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/6039 SLAMPORA!]]
* WeakWilled: One of the worst of all the characters. As a seadweller, he is born with extremely potent biological immunity to psychic power, yet Vriska can still mind control two different versions of him into ramming each other from great distances with ease while throwing a tantrum. Aranea can also control him even more so, but it's more likely because she had billions of sweeps of practice.

* ActionGirl: Meenah is the most physically aggressive of her group and lasts the longest against Lord English compared to her teammates that are present.
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: She's about to harpoon John at one point, though Aranea says that she'll [[{{Pun}} conchfishscate]] it if she tries. She {{Squee}}s hard enough that she leaves him be.
* AllAccordingToPlan: She's quite happy to find out that she's dead, even though she thinks she's in hell because it means her plan ''worked''. According to Aranea, this is because Meenah's plan is [[RetGone what kept them from all being consigned to non-existence]] by rebooting their session.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Like Feferi, her horns resemble the top half of the Pisces symbol.
* AuthorsSavingThrow:[[invoked]] In an easter egg, Hussie explains that Meenah was meant to be this for the Pisces fans, whose representative did little before getting written out from the story. Though this may just be Hussie taking a stab at Feferi, who was implied to be bothering him in-story.
* AxCrazy: Assaults Roxy immediately after being introduced with a SlasherSmile the whole time. She later tells John she wants to kill Roxy for the hell of it. (Granted, she's trying to kill Roxy's ''dream'' self, and notably passes up the opportunity when she encounters the real thing.)

* BerserkButton:

%%* BloodFromTheMouth: When Jake punches her.
* BoyishShortHair: Aside from her twintails. It fits well with her rough, tomboyish personality.
* BrownNoteBeing: A specific case, but due to a quirk of their genetics, two fuchsiablood trolls cannot be in the same area without immediately having the uncontrollable urge to kill each other to maintain their hold over Alternia’s throne. Meenah cannot talk to Feferi for this reason, even though she thinks Feferi is cute and is saddened that they cannot meet because of this.
%%* TheBully: Early in their session, she was this, most notably towards Damara.%%How?
* CallBack: Her hair is reminiscent of Jade's God Tier hood. It is also similar to the Handmaid's hair, except the twin tails are in the back instead of the front.
** Her SlasherSmile and demeanour seem by and large similar to the Condesce's, while her weapon is identical to Feferi's and Condesce's shared weapon choices.
** [[http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006543 The part where she attacks Roxy]] is a CallBack to the Midnight Crew Intermission where [[http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003192 Spades Slick tries to choke someone unconscious]].
** This could be why the Condesce is fixated on Jane:
--->MEENAH: maybe some day ill find an heiress who my genes dont instinctively make me wanna murder on sight\
MEENAH: then i can teach her the badass ways of being a boss n shit!
** The baking metaphor above may be a nod to the Condesce's role as the Batterwitch.
* DesignatedHero: InvokedTrope. Lampshaded by Aranea.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Being the Protagonist for Act 6 Intermission 3 and the most influential member of the fourth session mentioned, she would be the Tetragonist, even though Kankri was supposedly the leader of the session.
* DoubleWeapon: Her ProngsOfPoseidon, which (like the other trolls) is shared with her post-Scratch self.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even she's appalled by Cronus bullying Mituna, and by what her post-Scratch self did to The Ψiioniic.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: {{Deconstruct|ion}}ed When Vriska severely bullies her dead alternate self, Dead Vriska turns to Meenah for support -- only for Meenah to sadly reply that Vriska has a point to her bullying and that she herself is somewhat tired of being happy and carefree, stating that she feels that because her "evilness" is so built into her DNA, she'll never change. She then decides to leave with Vriska and return to battle, leaving in shame. It's also worth noting that, as she leaves, Meenah bursts into tears, clearly distraught over her choice.
* EvilLaugh: At the end of her Villain Leitmotif, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gU_54ibyKM "Hate You"]]. This is shared with the Condesce, who has more of a NoblewomansLaugh.
* EvilMentor: For [[LighterAndSofter Feferi]] (well, she wouldn't be a ''good'' mentor at any rate), but she can't even talk to her face-to-face due to a genetic BerserkButton towards other fuchsia-bloods.
* FandomNod:
** She initially mistakes the humans for demons. Guess what most people unfamiliar with ''Homestuck'' assume that the trolls are?
** The Skaia imageboard tagged her as "{{Punk|Rock}} Condesce' before her name was revealed. The narration later says she's "punky looking".
* FeminineWomenCanCook: Inverted, given that she's fairly masculine. As a throwback most likely, to the Condesce being Betty Crocker, Meenah herself can bake. [[PetTheDog She even baked all the pre-scratch trolls a cake after one of the sweeps in the game]]!
* FlashStep: Pulls this on Real!Roxy to sneak up behind her when the latter gets temporarily stuck in a dreambubble.
* GildedCage: Though she enjoys the perks of wealth, she avoided pursuing the crown because she thought that being in that sort of position would make her miserable. She thinks being the empress of Beforus means being a "glorified slave"- i.e. being obligated to not only help, but to also baby and enact forced charity upon the lower castes.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Finds Pyralspite in a chest and declares that she never wants to stop hugging it, even tagging it as "highly desirable merchandise."
* GoneHorriblyWrong: She tried to sow dissension among her co-players to make them more powerful. Unfortunately, this led to [[FaceHeelTurn Damara sabotaging their session]].
* {{Greed}}: Even though she's dead, acquiring more wealth is a primary goal for her, so she can return to a life of luxury. She's even willing to let Aranea ''pay her'' to listen to her ramblings about stuff she already knows (but that the reader doesn't).
* {{Griefer}}: She played this role to the other members of her group to try to get them to play more along the lines of what she wanted. It wound up backfiring horribly.
* HurricaneOfPuns: Fish puns obviously, and even more so then Feferi and Eridan combined. She seems to like it when other people (aside from Cronus) do it. She even engages in a little horse punnery when speaking with Horuss, so she may just like puns and wordplay in general.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Generally seems to be this under a ''lot'' of jerk. She seems to be fairly friendly (albeit in her own snarky way) to many of the more reasonable Pre-Scratch Trolls, to the point of being unnerved about how the Condensce treated the Helmsman. She also practically begs John to not let her steal the Ring of Life because she realizes that she misses hanging out with her friends, and later on she bonds with Vriska by hearing out her depression and [[PetTheDog braiding Vriska's hair like her own]].
* JiveTurkey: Somewhat. She uses a lot of slang like "aight," "ho," "sucka," "hustlin," says "ma" for "my," "-in" for "-ing," and so on.
* {{Leitmotif}}: [[http://homestuck.bandcamp.com/track/fuchsia-ruler Fuchsia Ruler]]. It's even Aranea's ringtone for when Meenah calls her, seen [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/6552 here]].
* LifeEnergy: She is the Thief of Life.
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Compared to the Condesce, her post-scratch self. They share many negative personality traits (laziness, ControlFreak issues, hedonistic and violent tendencies, and all-around {{jerkass}}ery), but while Meenah is, deep down, a functionally decent person at times, the Condesce is ''definitely'' not.
* LightningBruiser: She's fast enough to FlashStep multiple times in succession, and possesses the SuperStrength and SuperToughness endemic to all fuchsiabloods. Out of all the players that try to fight [[TheJuggernaut Lord English]] personally, she lasts by far the longest and is able to keep getting up to continue fighting.
* MadeOfIron: She's able to pretty much ignore Jake while he beats the crap out of her.
* MeaningfulName: "Mina" or "Meena" is Sanskrit for the Pisces zodiac sign (literally meaning "fish"). It is also an [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meena Indian caste]], who believe they are descendants from Matsya, the fish avatar of Vishnu. 'Mina' is also Arabian for 'port', referencing her sign. There's also a currency called the Mina, recalling her MoneyFetish.
* MoneyFetish: If Act 6 Intermission 3 is of any indication, she absolutely loves the stuff. Latula affectionately calls her "Paycheck".
%%* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily
* TheNicknamer: Dismissive jerk version. She calls Karkat "nubbyshouts" and doesn't really care to learn the names of anyone new that she meets, such as calling John "nerd," "god-tier boy," and "blue boy." This goes so far that she can't even remember the names of some of her session's other players.
* OfficialCouple: With (Vriska.) Subverted when Meenah gets bored of her and breaks up to accompany the Alpha Vriska.
* OfficialKiss: [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/7351 with alternate Vriska.]]
* PetTheDog:
** She baked her friends a cake to celebrate their first anniversary in the game.
** When Cronus was busy being a {{Jerkass}} to Mituna, Meenah interrupts his bullying and scolds the former to leave the latter alone. When Cronus deflects her by revealing how her Alternian version that she admires treated Mituna's alternate self, Meenah is at a loss for a moment and only offers wishful thinking that she probably treated him well.
** Meenah finds Feferi to be very cute and is rather depressed that their blood's genetic triggers prevent them from bonding.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Aversion. She's associated with pink because of her blood colour -- Tyrian pink, not because of any feature of her personality.
* ProngsOfPoseidon: As aquatic royalty, she naturally fights with a double-headed trident. One made out of gold.
* PsychoPink: Meenah is a fuchsia troll who, if the other entries haven't said enough about her already, is AxCrazy.
* RebelliousPrincess: According to Aranea, she saw the role of Empress as a "glorified slave" and disliked the caste system as a whole. In fact, an instance of her running away led to her initially discovering the game. This is no doubt a reference to Feferi's own characterization, though unlike most examples, she [[VillainProtagonist is far from heroic]].
* RiddleForTheAges: No counterpart to Feferi's lusus Gl'bgolyb existed on Beforus, due to her existence being brought about by Doc Scratch and Lord English. Therefore, it is not known what kind of lusus Meenah was raised by, if she was raised by a lusus at all.
* RunningGag: Meenah killing John's dream bubble iteration every time she sees him.
%%* ScaryShinyGlasses: Although that's mostly due to her MilkyWhiteEyes.
%%* SlasherSmile: Seemingly constantly.
* ShipTease: She takes the time to ask [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/7841 post-retcon Vriska her age]] in a way that suggests that she might be attracted to her as well.
--->MEENAH: how old are you\
VRISKA: Uh,\
VRISKA: Almost seven and a half sweeps.\
VRISKA: Getting close to eight!!!!!!!!\
VRISKA: I pro8a8ly sound like a fucking nerd, 8ut I've 8een excited a8out reaching that milestone pretty much my whole life.\
MEENAH: 7.5 huh\
MEENAH: i guess thats a lil more respectable\
VRISKA: More respecta8le than what?
* SociopathicHero: Has attacked several protagonists unprovoked, but is currently attempting to get a group together to fight the BigBad.
* {{Squee}}: Getting on her good side in any number of ways (agreeing with her opinions, making fish puns, discussing her adult version's genocidal march across the universe) tends to provoke this reaction. Make her happier and she'll enter what can only be described as a ''joy coma.''
** See ActuallyPrettyFunny.
* StunnedSilence: Her initial reaction to learning the nasty fates of Mituna and Porrim's post-scratch counterparts. After initially being presented as possessing a serious LackOfEmpathy, it's her character's first real humanizing moment.
* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: Peppers her speech with curses liberally, in contrast with Feferi, who curses only rarely. She naturally shares this trait with the Condesce, and it's also used for a CallBack to the Midnight Crew intermission at one point.
* TimeAbyss: Averted. It's only been a few hours for Meenah since her death unlike the rest of her group.
* TokenEvilTeammate: For the pre-Scratch trolls as a whole. Well, she was the most obvious one, what with Kurloz being TheMole and Damara only helping once in their session for a callous reason. As Aranea puts it:
-->[Vriska] was a serious trou8lemaker in your party. Many player groups have to deal with those.\
I feel as though we had one of the worst cases in our party. 8ut when all was said and done, she was still our friend.
** To put it in perspective: [[EvilFeelsGood Her reaction to all the horrible things her post-scratch self has done.]] Not even getting the crap beat out of her could pull her from her bliss. Of course, then she learns [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor what Aranea didn't]] [[TheManBehindTheMan tell her about]].
** Meenah's actually an interesting example in that while she was most definitely this to her group during her game proper, after the scratch so many of her fellow players [[TookALevelInJerkass ground levels in assholery]] that, while not necessarily coming off as ''pleasant'' per se, she seems significantly less evil and/or repugnant than other characters - namely Damara and Kurloz - to the extent that she doesn't really qualify anymore as a Token Evil.
** It's also possible, in light of what her personality turns out to be like, that Aranea's description of Meenah as her team's troublemaker was her being an UnreliableNarrator -- it directly mirrors Vriska's dream-bubble conversation with John, where she said that Terezi was her team's troublemaker, and Meenah's later conversations with Vriska imply that Aranea always showed hints of what she eventually became.
* TomboyPrincess: She was in line to become Empress until she rebelled against her role and fled to Beforus' moon, taking her punk attitude and style with her.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Meenah is a punkish tomboy who loves getting rowdy and starting fights, but baking is one of her interests as well as cute plushies and cosmetics & self-care to the point of remarking of needing to have hands so soft to polish gold with.
* TookALevelInKindness: She becomes less of a gleeful sociopath and more of a well-rounded person after she dies, even though she still takes pleasure in a handful of her more unpleasant habits.
* UnaccustomedAsIAmToPublicSpeaking: Stands before the ghost army, claims that she "aint much for inspirational sbeaches", and... their reaction has yet to be recorded, but there's reason to believe that, no, she really isn't.
* VillainSong: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gU_54ibyKM "Hate You"]], which she shares with the Condesce.
* VillainProtagonist: Of her own Session, as a matter of fact. She's an alternate version of the BigBad, after all. She tries growing out of this when she becomes the protagonist. She's gotten some CharacterDevelopment in recent updates and genuinely seems to have begun looking out for the best interests of everyone.
* WarForFunAndProfit: Her two key motivations for fighting are one, that it entertains her, and two, that it gives her a chance to amass riches.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Let's just say she didn't take Aranea's [[FaceHeelTurn Face Heel Turn]] very well. Later, she says that after Aranea was killed again, she never heard from her again, and doesn't really want to.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: Meenah finds no reason to mourn other Ghosts for this reason.
-->MEENAH: i lived like death wasnt no thing at all times overdue a hard stop to being you and only chumps arent fine with that\
MEENAH: but then i die and find out dying dont mean what little i thought it did\
MEENAH: so all those spook eyed souls up there scared to death of double dyin? fuck em
