!!!Lazlow
[[quoteright:128:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lazlow_jones_5424.png]]
->''I'm a nice person, I deserve to do well! You know, people like me, we've only betrayed friends once or twice, and they had it coming!''

->'''Voiced by:''' Lazlow Jones

Perhaps the only character to appear in every major installment of Grand Theft Auto, Lazlow is introduced in ''III'' as host of Chatterbox FM, where he is bombarded with a colorful array of guests and insane people. Lazlow would often mention his stint on a rock station -- V-Rock from ''Vice City'', having taken over from its former DJ, Couzin Ed (as heard on ''Vice City Stories'', where he was an intern). After he quit in a rage, Lazlow eventually landed a job as a DJ of WCTR's ''Entertaining America'' in ''San Andreas'', where after only two shows, he also quit. By the time ''IV'' took place, Lazlow was the washed-up host of Integrity 2.0, trying, failing, and desperately making a comeback. As of ''V'', his career seems to be looking up again, with him hosting the RealityShow ''Fame or Shame'' and having returned to WCTR with a new show, ''Chattersphere''.

Lazlow is voiced by real-life radio personality Lazlow Jones, who wrote most of the radio scripts from ''III'' onwards.

-> For tropes relating to his [[spoiler:first onscreen]] role in ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV'', see his entry in this [[Characters/GrandTheftAutoVCharactersFromGrandTheftAutoIV character sheet]].

----
* AdamWesting: Lazlow is a real-life radio personality and many of his dialogue throughout the ''Grand Theft Auto'' series since ''III'' feature parodies of his profession.
* ButtMonkey:
** Especially in ''Vice City Stories'', where he is the co-host/intern to Couzin Ed, who constantly belittles him for his high-pitched voice, his long hair and so on.
** In ''V'', he gets humiliated not once, but ''twice'', for acting inappropriately towards Michael's daughter Tracey. The first time, he gets chased into a drainage ditch by Michael and Trevor and is forced to do an unflattering dance with his pants around his ankles as Trevor recorded him on his phone. The second time, Michael gives Lazlow a number of humiliating piercings before cutting off his ponytail and tattooing a penis on him.
* BlueOniRedOni: His oni code has somewhat gone into a drastic scale - By Vice City Stories, he was the purple oni to Couzin Ed's red, then [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoViceCity 2 years later]] he mellowed out into a cool blue throughout the series until he gets reduced to a egotistical, idiotic and jerky red in the [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIV HD]] [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV universe]].
* ButtMonkey: In ''Vice City Stories'', as intern to Couzin Ed. Ed would frequently berate and humiliate Lazlow in-between the songs.
* DeadpanSnarker: It wouldn't be Lazlow without him mocking his guests, or himself.
* DumbassDJ: Pretty much inverted in ''III'', where he is the OnlySaneMan, while his guests and callers are anything but smart. Played straight in the later games in the franchise, in which Lazlow becomes known for being a mean-spirited egocentric jackass with a habit of progressively demolishing his own career through stupid mistakes and shitty behaviour.
* {{Flanderization}}: Ignoring the chronological order of the games, Lazlow gets more pathetic in each new game released. Lazlow starts off as the OnlySaneMan in ''III'', mocking the sea of lunatics who call him. ''Vice City'' had him as a fairly normal, if egotistical, rock host. His career is going through a rough patch in ''San Andreas'' but he's still on the up-and-up; there he's at the mercy of his guests. By ''IV'', he was a sad wash-up, and in ''V'', he's bitter and angry, in a job he hates, with a co-host he hates, in a town he hates. He spends the majority of his segment arguing with his coworker, on the defensive about his life choices. And to cap it all off, [[spoiler:when he actually appears in ''V''[='=]s story, it's so he can getting physically humiliated -- ''twice'' -- by the main characters]].
* HatesTheJobLovesTheLimelight: As shown in ''San Andreas'', ''Liberty City Stories'', and ''III'', he tries to love the job and likes being on the radio. His grief mostly comes from the callers and interviewees. By ''V'', though, he can barely muster the enthusiasm to do his job and spends most of the time grumbling bitterly about having to share the airwaves with a co-host and only seems to come alive when he ends up as the centre of attention.
* HeWhoMustNotBeSeen: [[spoiler:Until ''V''.]]
* KlingonPromotion: In ''San Andreas'', after the original ''Entertaining America'' host is shot on air, Lazlow takes the spot.
* TheLastDJ: Believes himself to be this.
* OnlyOneName: Despite having the last name of Jones in real-life, the GTA Lazlow is only ever addressed by his first name. Lampshaded in ''V'' by his ''Chattersphere'' co-host Michelle, who calls him "Mr. Lazlow I-don't-have-a-surname".
* OnlySaneMan: Tries to run his shows normally, but is swamped by insane guests and callers. By ''GTA'' standards, Lazlow is fairly tame... at least at first.
* SelfDeprecation: You would ''think'' Lazlow would make himself into a Canon Stu, being the producer of the radio shows in the series in RealLife, but even in ''III'', when he had the most virtual air time, the best he could do was snark about his situation. By ''IV'', he has turned his character into a deluded, [[SmallNameBigEgo egotistical]] {{jerkass}} who believes himself to be TheLastDJ, and is genuinely surprised and offended when people call him out on it. And in ''V'', [[spoiler:when he finally appeared as an in-story character, it was so he could be forced to dance in his underwear and get a dick tattooed on either his chest or back]]. Plus, he gave some of his RealLife buddies roles on the shows.
* SeparatedByACommonLanguage: In ''San Andreas'', Lazlow and OG Loc have two very [[GangBangers different]] [[APartyAlsoKnownAsAnOrgy definitions]] of "gang banging".
-->"Gang banging? I never really understood that. I mean, other guys in the room while you're... ''ugh!''"
* SmallNameBigEgo: Initially fairly level-headed in ''III,'' he's degenerated into an egotistical and self-aggrandizing loudmouth in ''IV'' despite his faltering career.

!!!Fernando Martinez
[[quoteright:128:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fernando_martinez_1935.png]]
->''IT'S A MIRACLE!''

->'''Voiced by:''' Frank Chavez

Fernando is introduced on Chatterbox in GTAIII as the founder of Fernando's New Beginnings, where husbands relieve the stress of married life by getting a mistress, to Lazlow's disgust and accusations of being just a cheap pimp from Upstate Liberty. Fernando's career, like Lazlow's, started in Vice City Stories where he was the co-host of Emotion 98.3 alongside Lionel Makepeace. By 1986 he became sole host of the station, but was kicked out for unknown reasons where he eventually became a temporary host of the Lonely Hearts show on San Andreas's WCTR. By 2008 he became the host of Vice City FM, and has admitted to having several children, being a registered sex offender not allowed within 200 yards of a school, and having a sexually transmitted infection. As of 2013, he has returned to San Andreas and WCTR, hosting his own segment ''The Fernando Show''.

----
* AllGuysWantCheerleaders: Was arrested for trying to take advantage of a cheerleader while working at a school.
* AlternateContinuity: One of the few signs that the radio stations still work on the principle even in the HD era; In ''III'', Lazlow exposes him as a fake foreigner from upstate Liberty, while in ''V'' he claims to be a former illegal immigrant, having come to America the courageous way (assuming he isn't just lying about either backstory); see below.
* BoomerangBigot: Believes that the immigration hole needs to be plugged. After all, he came to America the courageous way -- by outrunning the speedboats.
* CatchPhrase: "''I, am Fernando Martinez''" and "''I guarantee it''".
* DoubleEntendre: He gives financial and political advice in the form of thinly-veiled sexual metaphors.
* EveryoneHasStandards: In ''San Andreas'', when a caller talks about wanting to sleep with his dog, Fernando is genuinely disgusted, saying [[BestialityIsDepraved it's illegal even for him and immoral in general.]]
* {{Flanderization}}: Starting out as a glorified pimp with a religious devotion to sex, Fernando has gotten more and more grotesque and sex-addicted with every game: in ''San Andreas,'' he stalks Christy [=MacIntyre=], pesters her over the phone, sets her car on fire, seduces her into having sex with him while still on-air, and admits that he will masturbate just about anywhere; in ''IV,'' he's a registered sex offender and a statutory rapist, has been running a Ponzi scheme on his listeners to fund his new prostitution ring, has attempted to rip off prostitutes with photocopied dollar bills, and it's heavily implied that he may be keeping some women illegally imprisoned in the country as sex slaves so they can't vote. In ''V'', his sex addition has reached critical levels despite his attempts to reinvent himself, leaving him a gibbering apologetic mess that comes across as creepy and embarrassing instead of seductive.
* HostileShowTakeover: In the third broadcast of ''Lonely Hearts,'' Fernando lures Christy [=MacIntyre=] out of the studio by setting her car on fire, then takes her place for that segment. For good measure, the usual synth BGM is replaced by sultry Flamenco guitar music.
* IDidntMeanToTurnYouOn: When Sue Murry gets angry during her interview, he admits that seeing her flustered and sweaty turns him on. She immediately storms out of the studio.
* KarmicSTD: Happens to come down with a sexually transmitted infection around the time he ends up being charged with rape and ending up on the sex offender registry.
* LatinLover: So he says, though he's not actually Latin and he's more like a borderline sex addict.
* NoodleIncident:
** In San Andreas, he briefly mentions being "chased out" of Vice City and alludes to a "Five Alarm Fire".
** In ''V'', he mentions that he was "a martyr for the justice and truth that lives in the heart of every man and woman" when he was "unjustly imprisoned on entirely unproven allegations''. He elaborates no further, though a few hints are dropped that he may have been involved with an underage girl.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He's a stalker, arsonist, con man, rapist, and sex offender, and demonstrates a great deal of misogyny and transphobia over the course of his various radio segments.
* RedOniBlueOni: The purple to [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoViceCityStories Lionel Makepeace's]] and [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV Jo's]] blue.
* SerenadeYourLover: Fernando references this.
-->"Have you noticed how popular synthesizers are getting? It's not the same as a lonely man with a ponytail, singing of his love on a guitar. At the door of a fair maid's hacienda. But it is not far short."
* StalkerWithACrush: In ''San Andreas'', he's been stalking Christy [=MacIntyre=] ever since they got drunk and had sex at a funeral, to the point of ''setting her car on fire'' just to get her attention.
* StrawMisogynist: From ''San Andreas'' onwards, he's grown more sexist and misogynistic, to the point of being genuinely shocked that women are allowed to vote. By ''V'', he's been in classes to stop thinking of women as objects for his insatiable lust; he relapses ''constantly'', though he ApologizesALot for it.
* TeacherStudentRomance: He finds it a DoubleStandard that people applaud a boy that scores with a female teacher, but when a male teacher tries to "teach a cheerleader in the ways of love", they're arrested.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Almost always refers himself in the third person.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Pimping aside, he seemed relatively pleasant enough in ''III'', but as the series has gone on, he's only grown more and more disgusting.

!!Double Clef FM

!!!Morgan Merryweather
->''[[ClassicalMusic You are listening to the fat lady sing on Double Clef FM]]. I'm Morgan Merryweather, but please, call me [[GratuitousItalian the maestro]].''

Liberty Tree entertainment correspondent and DJ of Double Clef FM. Makes cameos on Vice City's K-Chat and on the Liberty City Story's Double Clef FM.

----
* BornInTheWrongCentury: "I normally hate anything the world has achieved since 1836".
* {{Hypocrite}}: During ''Liberty City Stories'', he makes a call to Sergio (then host of Double Clef FM) and criticizes him for playing mostly Italian composers. Morgan does the same thing three years later.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Attempts to appear intellectual through references to classical culture that he often gets wrong.

!!MSX FM

!!!MC Codebreaker
->''101.1 MSX in your manor, sound of Liberty City's finest''

The energetic co-host of the Drum & Bass station MSX FM (MSX 98 in VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoLibertyCityStories). He constantly raps over the tracks mixed by the off screen DJ Timecode.
----
* AsHimself: A real life jungle MC.
* BuccaneerBroadcaster: He and DJ Timecode are are likely this, since their station is heavily reminiscent of contemporary British pirate radio stations such as [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rinse_FM Rinse FM]].
* MotorMouth: Going on non-stop for 25 minutes in III with only short pauses in-between his lines is quite an accomplishment. His rapping is far less energetic and frequent in LCS.

!!Flashback FM

!!!Toni
[[quoteright:128:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toni_3192.png]]
->''So my friends say 'Toni, do you remember the [[TheSeventies 70's]] and [[TheEighties 80's]]?' and I say, [[NostalgiaFilter well I certainly don't remember anything since then!]]''

Introduced as the DJ of Flashback FM in ''III'', later appears as the Host of Flash FM in ''Vice City'' and ''Vice City Stories''.

----
* BornInTheWrongCentury: More like Born In The Wrong Decade. As the [=DJ=] of Flashback FM, she constantly reminisces about the 1980s. Even alluded to before a commercial break.
-->'''Toni''': So my friends say "Toni, do you remember the 80s?", and I say "Well, I certainly don't remember anything else since then!"
* BrickJoke: In ''III'', after the song "She's On Fire", Toni claims that she's never been on fire, [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial at least not to her knowledge]]. In ''Vice City'', set fifteen years earlier, she claims to have accidentally set her hair on fire using hairspray.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Most of the time she spends on-air is talking about how good yesterday's party was.
* TheHedonist: As the DJ of Flashback FM, Toni reminisces about her hedonistic lifestyle during the 1980s.
* RedOniBlueOni: Despite how hyperactive she sounds, she still comes off as the blue (or at least purple) to Teri's red, as Teri is much more intense.
* RunningGag: In ''Vice City'', she constantly states that she expects to do something important with her life by the time she's 30 -- the joke is that she is ironically still a radio DJ fifteen years later, in ''Liberty City'''s Flashback FM.
* ValleyGirl: Very fluent in Valspeak.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Teri. They exchange vicious insults regarding the other's sexual and drug habits, with Toni often gaining the upper hand, but they must have a certain degree of affability if Teri considered having sex with her while drunk possible.
* WhatDidIDoLastNight: After "Easy Lover" by Phil Bailey and Phil Collins, Teri asks: "Did we screw last night? I was so wasted!", to which Toni replies that if they did, she doesn't remember it.

[[folder:Introduced in ''Vice City'']]

!!VCPR (Vice City Public Radio)

!!!Maurice Chavez
->''Six years ago I was a clown, and now I'm a success! Ha ha, think about it. Imagine where I can be in 10 years. I can achieve anything!''

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/PhilipAnthonyRodriguez

In 1980, Maurice Chavez worked as a clown in birthday parties, corporate functions, juvenile correctional facilities, bar mitzvas and Go-Go bars. After constant failed acting auditions and getting work as a fluffer in a sex-education video, he considered getting a sex change before he was discovered and became a radio personality on Vice City's VCPR. He hosted the "healthy" public debate show ''Pressing Issues'' in 1984, and by 1986, won several awards and was granted extended showtime on the radio. Though he tries to run his shows normally, they often become out of control due to the insane guests, and Chavez would snap violently. It is revealed in ''Vice City Stories'' that he had an affair with VCPR host Michelle Montanius and had a child with her, but refused to give her the money for the abortion.

----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Generally pleasant, but he can (and often does) lose patience in the face of his guests' shenanigans. He even hits Jeremy Robard in the face with a paperweight.
* ButtMonkey: Revealed in part thanks to extreme right-wing Congressman Alex Shrub.
-->'''Maurice:''' I grant you, 1980 was not a highlight in my career; but [[ITakeOffenceToThatLastOne I NEVER applied for a sex change!]]
* DeadpanSnarker: He can be.
* DeliveryGuy: His experience with Bryony Craddock, one of his guests during his show's VCPR segment days in ''Vice City Stories'', puts him off going near a vagina ever again.
* HatesTheJobLovesTheLimelight: Much like Lazlow, he loves being on the radio but really loathes the guests on his show.
* OnlySaneMan: Maurice has at least tried to run healthy debate shows with serious topics such as public safety, morality and positive thinking and is shown to be a history major. When he snaps though...
* OverlyNarrowSuperlative: He insists that his clown act was good and that he was once voted for "best up-and-coming dietary-restricted comic act in the whole of Vice City." He didn't even win that, though; he lost to Mary the Meat-Free Mime.

!!!Pastor Richards
[[quoteright:128:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pastor_richards_2_1048.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' David Green

Borderline-insane [[TheFundamentalist fundamentalist]] "pastor" whose stated goal is to collect donations from his followers to build a rocket ship/statue of himself and then colonize Saturn with everyone who gave generously enough, leaving the sinful world behind to build a utopia. His ''real'' goal is to fleece as much money from his flock as possible, then use it to build a mansion in UsefulNotes/{{Hawaii}} and live out the rest of his days with his mistresses. He's on the Morality segment, and he makes a small visual cameo at the beginning of the game on Cortez's yacht.

----
* ArtisticLicenseSpace: Unless he's looking to colonize UsefulNotes/TheMoonsOfSaturn, he probably won't have much success building his dreamed-of society on the surface of a ''gas giant''. Justified, given that he's planning to steal all the money for his own personal use, which means he didn't care one bit about coming up with a feasible plan.
* BerserkButton: Don't be naked and loving in his presence unless you want an emasculating gunshot wound.
* ConMan: He all but says he's one when he states the true purpose of his followers' donations.
* CorruptChurch: Between his theology (a parody of "prosperity gospel" taken to the point of lionizing greed as a virtue) and the fact that he's shamelessly ripping off his followers, he seems to be based on any number of infamous televangelists from TheEighties.
* EyeBeams: He plans on installing these in his statue/spaceship in order to smite all of the world's sinners.
%%* TheFundamentalist
%%* InsaneTrollLogic: He seems to be based on this.
* {{Irony}}: He praises UsefulNotes/MaoZedong and UsefulNotes/JosefStalin for being able to strongwill their people into submission despite both of them being communist leaders.
* {{Jerkass}}: While he starts off the segment as a fundamentalist that can barely veil his hypocrisy, by the time he shoots Barry Stark he lets loose his true colors as an egomanical tyrant who won't take no for an answer.
* ListingTheFormsOfDegenerates: "Liberals, degenerates, the Welsh..."
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Parodies the television evangelists notorious in the 80s such as [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_Roberts Oral Roberts]], [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Popoff Peter Popoff]] and [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Bakker Jim Bakker]].
%%* OurFounder
* {{Polyamory}}: As he is also a parody of cult leaders, Richards is also in a polyamorous relationship with what he flat out states are his concubines.

!!!Barry Stark
-> '''Voiced by:''' Renaud Sebbane

A nudist whose ambition is to fund more nudist-friendly establishments in Vice City, such as a casino. He also wrote a book on nudism, entitled ''As Nature Intended''. He is separated from the other panelists by a divider during his time on ''Pressing Issues''.
----

* DesperatelyCravesAffection: He gets increasingly frustrated at having to sit behind the divider, complaining that he's lonely and needs a hug.
* MeaningfulName: His first and last name are both references to nudity.
* MultipleChoicePast: He claims that he discovered nudism while on holiday in Germany. Later he says that as a child he demanded to go to school naked. When questioned by Maurice, Barry admits that he lies a lot.
* NakedPeopleAreFunny: He constantly disrupts the program with his antics, whether it's preaching about nudism or sneaking past his divider.

!!K-Chat

!!!Amy Sheckenhausen
->'''Voiced by:''' Leyna Weber

Host of K-Chat, a celebrity talk show.

----
* CaptainOblivious: Often doesn't seem to notice any wrong or off about her guests until it's too late.
* TheDitz: Amy is sweet, but anything intellectual flies right over her head.
* {{Squee}}: Has this reaction over meeting Love Fist on air.

!!!B.J. Smith
->'''Voiced by:''' Lawrence Taylor
A guest on K-Chat. Tight end for the Vice City Mambas, this guy has a whole lot of anger issues and just loves hurting people; that seems to include taking their cars away, as you take over his 'import/export' business as part of asset gathering. He returns in ''V'', at least in name, having a Recreation Center in Los Santos named in his honour.

----
* HonestJohnsDealership: He can barely hide the fact in his car business commercial that he sells stolen cars.
%%* JerkJock
* TrainingFromHell: His fitness and weight loss program uses very harsh and abusive methods he used during his football training.

!!!Michaela Carapadis
->'''Voiced by:''' Mary Birdsong

A guest on K-Chat. A radical feminist who wrote a book that talked about the "horrors" of man, officially titled "Being and Seeing, From Freud to the Building Sites, a Woman's Journey into the Male Psyche". While being interviewed it is implied Michaela takes on a manly appearance.

----
* DoesNotLikeMen: To the point she berates one woman for not ''abusing her husband enough''.
* StrawFeminist: Definitely.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: A possible parody of radical feminist activist [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Dworkin Andrea Dworkin]], a noted figure in the 80s for her anti-pornography views.
* SweetPollyOliver: Dresses in a masculine manner to infiltrate male spaces. She's still dressed like that when she's on K-Chat.

!!V-Rock

!!!Lazlow
See his bio and examples above.

!!!Couzin Ed
-> The main host of V-Rock as of 1984 with Lazlow still being an intern who is constantly being made fun of. Kicked off the station in 1986 when Lazlow finally got his degree in broadcasting and was willing to work for less pay.

->'''Voiced by:''' Michael "Couzin Ed" Andrews

----
* AllMenArePerverts: "You know Couzin Ed always dives for the hole. [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Diver Hole-y diver]]."
-->'''Couzin Ed:''' Couzin Ed here, as in "cousin" you can sleep with and tell your mom. Hell, bring your mom as well! [[CrossingTheLineTwice I probably had her anyway.]]
* AsHimself: Or better, an overly masculine, more Jerkass-y version of himself.
* JerkAss: Constantly makes fun of Lazlow, bashes on liberals and calls all women sluts.
* MetalHead: The quintessence of one.
* PatrioticFervor: A straw Conservative, he admires Reagan and calls a caller a "Commie bitch" for insulting his radio nickname.
* ThePornomancer: He even manages to get some gals to show him their breasts on-air.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Lazlow's purple.
* ShoutOut:
-->'''Couzin Ed:''' [[Film/ThisIsSpinalTap Let's turn it up... TO TWELVE]]!

!!Flash FM

!!!Toni
See her bio and examples above.

!!!Teri
-> The coke-snorting 25-year old host of Flash FM who ReallyGetsAround and loves to party. Toni, being the co-host, is basically the same.

->'''Voiced by:''' Zan Aron

----
* AmbiguouslyBi: On one hand, she openly admits to sleeping with the station's manager, who's stated to be a man. On the other hand, she at one point asks Toni: "Did we screw last night? I was so wasted!", to which Toni replies that if they did, she doesn't remember it.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Most of the time she spends on-air is talking about how good yesterday's party was.
* PutOnABus: It is hinted that Teri, in her mid-twenties, was considered too old to be hosting Flash FM and was probably fired by 1986, a spoof of the high turnover rate of MTV [=VJs=] due to age, leading to Toni's rise as the sole DJ of the station and the reason why she's hosting Flashback FM alone.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Toni's blue.
* STDImmunity: Averted.
--> '''Teri:''' Do there sores make me look like a whore?
--> '''Toni:''' Umm... Yes?
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Toni.
* WhatDidIDoLastNight: "Did we screw last night? I was so wasted!"

!!Wildstyle

!!!Mr. Magic
[[quoteright:128:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mr__magic_2279.png]]
->''They said HipHop is not going to last. We proved them wrong.''

The DJ of the electro and hip-hop pirate radio station Wildstyle. In real life, he hosted ''Rap Attack'', a New York radio show in the 80's which was the first rap exclusive show to air on a major station. He passed away on the 2nd October 2009.

----
* AsHimself: The real life figure who introduced hip hop to the airwaves.
* BuccaneerBroadcaster: The in-game Mr. Magic's a pirate radio broadcaster and proud of it.

!!Fresh 105

!!!Luke Campbell
->''I've got something to say to all other radio stations: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYzakWz3JxU No matter how hard you try, you can't stop us now]].''

The host of Fresh 105, a pirate radio station broadcasting from a stripclub who speaks solely in Cluster F-Bombs. Gets really mad when Oliver Biscuit offered him to buy the station, but still [[DramaticIrony ends up selling it by the events of Vice City]].

->'''Voiced by:''' [[Music/TwoLiveCrew Luther R. Campbell]]

->''The 80s are never over. You don't just turn off the 80s!''\
'''Voiced by:''' Randy Pearlstein

A roided-up action film star, known for appearing in the Evacuator trilogy: ''Evacuator'', ''Exploder'' and ''Special Needs Cop''. Once highly regarded, his gradual slide into irrelevance following the end of the Cold War made him incredibly delusional, culminating in him accidentally killing ''Entertaining America'' host Billy Dexter on air and had to serve time on death row from 1992 until his parole in 2007, only to get into trouble again with the law three years later, for which he served a smaller sentence. After his release in 2013, Jack, more mentally unhinged than ever, began working in his own reality show "[[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment Jack Howitzer is Jack Howitzer in Jack Howitzer]]".

----
* ActionHero: Used to play such roles back in his heyday.
* TheAhnold: A pretty obvious parody of action movie actors, most prominently Creator/SylvesterStallone: not only does he sport the distinctive slurred voice, but the ''Evacuator'' movies being distinctly reminiscent of the ''Rambo'' series, and his 2013-era breakdown is an obvious parody of Rambo's climactic rant in ''First Blood,'' right down to a grievance over being called a "baby killer." He also draws inspiration from Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger, with "Special Needs Cop" a clear parody of ''Film/KindergartenCop'', right down to the poster. Also, Jack's later reality-show career and failure to separate fact from fiction seems at least partly inspired by Creator/StevenSeagal.
* AxCrazy: Already unstable in the [=90s=], by 2013, Jack has been practically eaten alive by his psychosis: a look at his apartment reveals that he's murdered a prostitute and his previous press agent, and he guns down one of the cleanup crew sent to help him - just because the guy tried to get rid of Jack's urine jars. Worse still, he responds to criticism on social media by burning down the houses of his critics, a poorly spelled testimony on his website claims that "Ho Chi Sock" wants Jack to murder his current manager, and angry shouts from a passerby indicates that Jack literally killed a baby.
* BadBedroomBadLife: He's currently staying at an extremely crappy motel in the desert and his room is nothing short of putrescent, befitting Jack's current state of mind. Among other things, it's littered with filth, the mirrors are broken, there's a bloodstain on the wall from where Jack killed his last agent, there's a dead prostitute in the corner, and Jack has even been collecting his urine in jars. His new agent calls in a cleanup crew to help, but they only get as far as removing the bodies and bloodstains, as Jack opens fire on them for trying to get rid of the piss jars.
* BullyingADragon: In the next episode preview of "Jack Howitzer Is Jack Howitzer in Jack Howitzer," his attempts to acquire easy-to-kill extras for his next movie result in him harassing members of the Korean mob, who don't appreciate Jack's racist pestering. This snippet of film ends with his manager frantically urging Jack away from the scene [[BolivianArmyEnding as the gangsters all draw weapons and begin closing in on him]].
* CannotTellFictionFromReality: Jack can't distinguish his fictional exploits from his real ones, acting if he's actually fought in the Vietnam War and broken out of prison.
* CompanionCube: After going into prison again, Jack stole a sock from the prison's laundry room and started talking with it. By the time he got out of prison, he had named it "Ho Chi Sock" and dressed it up as a Vietnamese soldier, making it a co-star on his new reality show.
* CreatorBreakdown: InUniverse, he suffers one due to his declining popularity as well as a paradigm shift following the end of the Cold War. Come ''San Andreas'', he believes the Soviets could still attack despite their breakup a year prior to the game and ends up accidentally killing Billy Dexter after an argument on the subject (among many others). After his ''first'' release from prison, he's even more unhinged, and eventually reduced to creating Ho Chi Sock to cope.
* DiscoDan: Jack never got over the end of the 80s and continues to act as if the days of the absurdly hypermasculine anticommunist action hero never ended. Part of this is due to his obsession with his GloryDays, but it's also due to deluded paranoia about "the Reds" invading at any minute, so overall, he's convinced that the 80s never really ended.
* DumbMuscle: Derided as "the most stupid gorilla in the jungle" during the nineties for his steroid abuse and delusions. He goes on to prove that he's even dumber than he looks in 2013, in which his messages to his fans are frequently misspelled, openly admit to crimes committed on air, and demonstrate his utter inability to tell fact from fiction.
* GloryDays: Jack cannot move on from his past as an action-movie hero, and obsesses over it at every turn, actively resisting any attempt to get him to embrace more modern trends in action films. In keeping with his delusion that he's a Rambo-style veteran, he's vocally disgusted by how the modern military combats terrorism "on computer with drones and women," growling that the eighties were better for the use of "survivor knife sense and steroids." In a rare moment of self-awareness, he also admits that it was in the eighties that his star power gave him carte blanche to feel up any woman he liked without public outcry.
* HairTriggerTemper: Likely due to a combination of cocaine addiction and roid rage, Jack is easily provoked to anger, even when people are genuinely trying to placate him. Consequently, Billy Dexter's attempts to point out that the Cold War is over results in Jack putting a gun to his head and demanding that Dexter feel his crotch to prove that steroids haven't shrunk his genitals.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Claims to be fighting against drugs in both his movies and reality, even though he's a recreational cocaine user who regularly abuses steroids, which he insists is okay because he's "[[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney got the funds for it]]."
* MeaningfulName: "Howitzer" befits both his career as an action movie actor and his explosive temper.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: A clear parody of action-movie stars like Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger and Creator/SylvesterStallone.
* NoodleIncident: Nothing is mentioned as to what crime got him a second stint behind bars, although this may be related to his accidental murder of an infant.
* ObliviousToHisOwnDescription: On "Entertaining America", Billy Dexter asks if Jack's approach isn't out of touch in the current era. Without a hint of irony, Jack replies "I'm rich and I work in Vinewood! I'm not out of touch."
* PatrioticFervor: Both Jack and his movies operate through aggressive promotion of America as "THE LAND OF FREEDOM, BITCHES," especially when pitted against "the Reds." As such, he's a bit put-out when the Cold War ends, especially since it leaves his usual approach to filmmaking seen as out of touch and backward.
* PhonyVeteran: Seems to genuinely believe that he's a soldier fighting communism instead of an actor portraying it in films, even though he's never seen a day of military service in his entire life. However, he's not motivated by monetary gain or personal glory, but makes his claims as a result of his mental illness.
* PleaseWakeUp: As a result of his drug abuse and mental illness, he doesn't always understand death. As such, after accidentally putting a bullet through Billy Dexter's skull, he spends the next few seconds anxiously pleading with Dexter to get up, only to start screaming for help when he sees that the radio host's "brain is leaking."
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Never got over the fact that movies featuring the mass-slaughter of foreigners fell out of style, scuppers his career by making a film in which he murders disabled children, dismisses cleaning up as "women's work", and generally comes across as extremely weird about Asians, alternatively fetishizing Asian girls and calling for the death of Chinese factory workers so he can "bring all the jobs back to America." His final on-air act in 2013 features him pestering Korean gangsters in the belief that they're Chinese, which doesn't appear to end well for him.
* PrisonRape: By the time of his second appearance on WCTR, he's acquired a prison bitch he calls "Ho Chi" and is currently forcing the guy to speak in JapaneseRanguage "like an Asian girl" or end up dead "like the last Ho Chi." Despite his hard-right political leanings, the fact that he's had sex with a man appears to have eluded him, so it's not certain if he's operating on some kind of mental gymnastics or if he genuinely believes that the unlucky cellmate is really his Vietnamese sidekick.
* PsychopathicManchild: Generally comes across as an extremely violent, petulant, and horribly selfish child in the body of a middle-aged man with a steroid problem, not helped by the fact that he can't distinguish his films from reality.
* RecklessGunUsage: After menacing Billy Dexter with a submachine gun, Jack assures the terrified host that it's not even loaded... only for him to accidentally put a bullet through Dexter's skull, killing him instantly. For good measure, Jack follows up on this by firing the gun wildly around the studio in a blind panic, presumably resulting in additional deaths.
* RoleEndingMisdemeanor: In-universe. His career was already on the ropes in the [=90s=], but his on-air manslaughter of Billy Dexter pretty much kills what was left of his role as a viable movie star, and whatever he did in 2008 destroys any prospects for fame as well. Once he gets out of prison for the second time, the only role Jack can get is in a reality TV show about himself - which turns out to be a pretty shameless effort to exploit his insanity.
* ShellShockedVeteran: While he's just an actor who has never served in the military, he certainly acts like he's been traumatized in some overseas conflict, though it's more likely to be psychosis brought about by drug abuse. In particular, he alternatively mourns for his Vietnamese sidekick Ho Chi after he was hurt in ''Exploder'' and implies that he murdered him in the real world at some point.
* ShoutingShooter: In keeping with his nature as TheAhnold, most of his roles feature him firing an automatic weapon and screaming at the top of his lungs. As such, after at least partially realizing that he's accidentally killed Billy Dexter, Jack decides that he's got to "defend freedom" and opens fire on the studio with an almighty howl of...
-->''WELCOME TO THE LAND OF FREEDOM, BITCHES! '''YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!''' ''
* StrawPolitical: A Republican and frenzied anticommunist throughout his career, a long stint in prison has only made him more extreme, with his website insisting that gun control, public education, and public health are not needed in America as "[[TestosteronePoisoning America is a nation of MEN, not laws]]."
* TestosteronePoisoning: Jack is ''insanely'' macho, in keeping with his failure to separate his fictional exploits from his real life. His abuse of steroids only makes things worse, especially once he starts obsessing over the fact that people have supposedly claimed that steroids have shrunk his genitals, driving him to put a gun to Billy Dexter's head and demand that Dexter fondle his balls to prove that "they're still big."
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: Most of his movie posters feature him wearing a stars and stripes bandanna. By 2013, he switched to wearing stars and stripes pants, however, which only succed in making him look ridiculous.
* WhiteDwarfStarlet: By the time he's finally paroled after his latest crime, Jack's star power is not merely dead, but decomposed all the way down to the bones. ''Nobody's'' there to greet him outside the prison, the only work he can find is in a reality TV show about his sorry state, all his movie pitches are turned down, and he's ultimately reduced to suggesting ''a sex tape'' in the desperate hope of getting attention.

* MoodDissonance: Speaks in a pleasant, reassuring tone of voice, but at that same time is quite open in mocking the shows she introduces, to the point that she can use the same friendly register to advise listeners of Area 53 to "check your rectum."
* OnlySaneWoman: Seems to be the only person at WCTR who knows how crap the station is and has no major personality flaws to get in the way of it.
* ScrewThisImOutOfHere: Eventually quits because of disgust at the Tight End Zone having no female callers.

----
* GlobalIgnorance: Lianne reports that Maccer and the Gurning Chimps are from "the Scottish village of Manchester," apparently unaware that Manchester is in ''England.'' Given that WCTR and Weasel News are both essentially parodies of [[{{Eagleland}} the worst excesses of American news]], this error is almost certainly intentional on the part of Rockstar.
* NoIndoorVoice: When reading the news, she rarely ever lowers her voice below shouting level.
* OfficeRomance: The final news report indicates that she and Richard Burns are in a relationship, as Richard has been looting stuff for their apartment.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: The only point when she drops her usual blaring exposition is after a very stoned Richard Burns is caught on air trying to shag a doe and getting chased off by an enraged stag; here, Lianne can be heard taking a deep breath and muttering, "''alright...''"
* PropagandaMachine: WCTR is firmly under the thumb of the government, so Lianne's job is to report on whatever makes the administration happy under a shallow pretense of neutrality; as such, she regularly glosses over any reports that might make the powers that be look bad or reveal any of the real conspiracies at work behind the scenes.
* PunnyName: "Lie and" Forget.
* RedOniBlueOni: The professional, unemotional, official-sounding propagandist to Richard Burns' wild self-inserting wannabe gonzo journalist.

* InstantSoprano: Talks in helium speech after getting a fist to the balls.
* IntrepidReporter: Negative example. He's notably unafraid of putting himself at serious risk in pursuit of a story, he's not exactly a saint, as he openly participates in a carjacking live on air, threatens to shoot out a suspect's tyres during a car chase, buys drugs, and even [[spoiler:participates in the looting during the Los Santos riots.]]
* IsThisThingStillOn: While utterly shitfaced, Richard slurringly asks Lianne if they've gone off-air before immediately remarking that he's stolen "some great stuff" for their apartment, including a bearksin rug, a blender, and a double-ended dildo - before Lianne hastily cuts him off. [[spoiler: This is what likely what ends up getting him fired as of ''Liberty City Stories.'']]
* KentBrockmanNews: Richard is, not to put too fine a point on it, ''incredibly'' unprofessional. Over the course of ''San Andreas,'' he teams up with a carjacker to conduct an on-air robbery, blows off a report on the murder of [[spoiler: Mad Dogg's manager by CJ]] to report on illegal racing, buys drugs from the Ballas, gets high and attempts to screw a deer, insults a "crack whore", gambles in the Four Dragons Casino when he's supposed to be reporting, asks where he can get a "prison bitch" like the one Jack Howitzer's acquired, opens fire on people getting too close to his newsvan, ignores a woman trapped in a burning car and insults one of her rescuers, and admits to having stolen a lot of things, all while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, [[spoiler: during the Los Santos riots.]] Of course, this last one has finally come back to bite him by the events of ''Liberty City Stories'' [[spoiler: as he's been fired.]]
* LargeHam: Thanks to being frequently drunk or high while on the air.
* {{Manchild}}: Even when he's not drunk or high, he tends to act incredibly childish and narcissistic.
* OfficeRomance: It's indicated that he's in a relationship with Lianne, as she not only expresses concern for his safety, but Richard apparently shares an apartment with her.
* TooMuchInformation: Lianne cuts him off after he drunkenly reveals that the two are romantically involved via admitting to stealing a double-ended dildo for their apartment.

!!!Marvin Trill

->''Look, it's good for the economy to live in constant fear...''

The host of WCTR's conspiracy show, Area 53, a conspiracy theorist who tends to ignore his viewers' opinions in favour of his own.

----
* AddledAddict: It's implied that he's a cocaine addict, as he advises one listener to read between the lines and if that doesn't work, "do some." If this is true, Trill is ''not'' the functional kind, as he's paranoid, jittery, obsessive, and hasn't washed in the last two months.
* CaptainObvious: Mixed with his conspiracy theorising. He informs listeners of the horrific fact that several species of birds ''can fly''.
* ChurchOfHappyology: He's a follower of the Epsilon Tract and can occasionally be heard interacting with fellow Epsilonists and proclaiming "Kifflom!"
* CloudCuckooLander: Not only is he a gibbering, barely lucid, drug-addled conspiracy theorist, but he's so unstable that he's been known to swing wildly to another topic in mid-sentence.
* ColdHam: Though his word choice is extremely dramatic, he rarely ever raises his voice above his usual paranoid murmuring despite the occasional mood swing.
* ConspiracyTheorist: Of a different kind from The Truth, who repeatedly phones up to complain about his complicity in government lies. Trill favours pro-government conspiracies that make everyone live in fear of external threats, many of them involving Communist Russia or aliens of some description, and in sharp contrast to The Truth's use of pot, mushrooms, LSD, and peyote, Trill prefers to fuel his theorizing with much harder drugs. In many ways, he's a forerunner to Nervous Ron of ''GTA V'', only more spacey and less neurotic.
* DirtyOldMan: Sounds at least as old as The Truth, suggests that a female caller should try to lure in a "cowboy ghost" by standing topless at her window for hours each night, reportedly has several "partners" that he insists on remaining anonymous with, and claims that if he had superpowers, everyone would be naked "and women signing autographs at conventions couldn't resist me!"
* EveryoneHasStandards: Trill becomes audibly uncomfortable when one caller begins asking him about levelling a house with a helicopter, and when the conversation turns towards garroting people with electrical cable, Trill just cuts him off entirely.
* EvilCounterpart: Arguably, to the Truth; both are wildly eccentric habitual drug users who live in isolated spots in the middle of nowhere and are obsessed with conspiracies, but while the Truth is trying to undo the organizations behind said conspiracy theories, it's indicated that Trill is at the very least an unknowing pawn of said conspiracies. Plus, in contrast to the Truth's nature as a benevolent hippie, Trill is also a pretty nasty piece of work, regularly belittling listeners, leering over female callers, conducting "weird rituals with Domestebots", and even asking a caller who can "launch nuclear missiles by just whistling into a phone" if he can wipe out all the other radio stations in town.
* HypocriticalHumor: Occasionally, Trill attempts to claim the sanity high ground when dealing with his more unusual callers, which he usually undermines by saying something even crazier.
-->If people could please just attempt to make sense, that’s all I’m asking. Last night, as I was laying in my pod meditating, and it occurred to me why... ''are you even listening to me?!'' Turn off all electrical devices including your radio!
* NoodleImplements: He's doing ''something'' in the desert involving a space suit and several Domestebots. One even calls up to tell Trill it knows what he's doing out there.
* StimulantSpeedtalk: Heavily implies that he's on cocaine, talks almost non-stop about increasingly illogical conspiracy theories, and has been known to swing wildly off-topic over the course of a single sentence.
* TrashyTrailerHome: Area 53 is broadcast live from Marvin Trill's trailer somewhere in the deserts of Bone County, and it's often described as a weird and disturbing place, not least of which because Trill is in the habit of conducting "rituals" with Domestebots. Given that Trill hasn't washed in months, it's best not to imagine how the place smells, either...

The OddCouple hosts of the political debate show "I Say, You Say". Peyton is a liberal, Mary a conservative and they spout their conflicting interests and opinions whenever they argue with each other or give suggestions to callers about society in San Andreas.

----
* ArousedByTheirVoice: At one point, Mary moans in disgust at the prospect of "a liberal having his way with you" and how dirty it makes her feel. An excited-sounding Peyton can be heard quietly asking her to speak slower.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Upon hearing that Mary slept with their producer, Peyton claims to have done the same; it's not certain if he was lying just to one-up Mary, if this was part of a threesome, or if he's actually bisexual (though given that he's meant to be the more liberal of the two, it wouldn't exactly be out of character).
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Peyton is a communist/collectivist and takes his beliefs to the point of madness; on top of claiming that his dream world would be living in a commune with [[CommieLand people wearing matching jumpsuits and growing potatoes]], he proves just as delusionally oblivious as Mary to the morally abhorrence of a psychopathic caller with a garden full of corpses - it's just that while Mary is advising tax-free profit-centric thinking, Peyton is calling for recycling and organ donation.
* DestructiveRomance: The two swing wildly between searing hatred for the others' political ideals and perverse sexual lust, neither of which can be described as healthy. As the Announcer herself puts it:
-->Boy, I can't imagine what those guys are like in the bedroom, but I'm sure it's a bit like the Bay of Pigs!
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When speaking with a hypersexualised caller who introduces himself by telling her and Peyton that he is into pleasuring himself, Mary expresses disgust.
* {{Jerkass}}: As a strict conservative, Mary has every chance she gets to belittle her callers who do not follow her views, one being an individual who is heavily into diversity in America and sees himself as a transexual. Also, she treats Peyton like shit.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Peyton and Mary were based on James Carville and Mary Matalin, respectively; Carville was the campaign manager for UsefulNotes/BillClinton, while Matalin worked on UsefulNotes/GeorgeHWBush's 1992 campaign. Carville and Matalin would later get married after Clinton was elected President in 1992.
* OppositesAttract: Despite their utter loathing for each other, it's indicated that the two really are sexually attracted to each other, as Mary's voice arouses Peyton, and Mary apparently likes it when Peyton wears a donkey suit to bed. Of course, it's definitely not a healthy relationship.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Mary strongly supports Fascism, even to the point of telling one of her callers to favour a Totalitarian state. Among other things, she berated a female caller with an eating disorder and looks down on those with lower income than the wealthiest citizens of San Andreas.
* HenpeckedHusband: Peyton gets regularly lampooned by his wife's anti-liberal insults.
* ReallyGetsAround: Mary is pretty open in acknowledging that she's unfaithful to Peyton, even admitting to Peyton that she slept with the producer - only for Peyton to claim that he did the same.
* StrawPolitical: Both Peyton and Mary are staunch in their political beliefs, and they often go at each other's throats over their contrasting opinions. Their beliefs are so heavily accented to the point that they endorse Communism/Collectivism and Fascism respectively. When acknowledging the fall of the UsefulNotes/BerlinWall, Peyton only bemoaned that it did as he sympathised with Soviet-run East Germany, with Mary feeling indifferent about it since she is obviously on the capitalistic West's side.

!!!Derrick Thackery
->'''Voiced by:''' Peter Appel

The host of The Tight End Zone, a show based on sports. Despite the show's purpose, Derrick actually talks about the passions surrounding sports rather than the topic itself, which he has little to no interest in it.
* CaptainObvious: Most of his sporting commentary is just him stating the very obvious, resulting in much awkwardness when he ends up in a discussion with an even bigger CaptainObvious than him.
* FatIdiot: He specifically describes the program as "fat men talking about games they don't really understand." Plus, he doesn't believe in rigged boxing matches - not that he's too principled to accept the notion of fixing a match, but that he ''doesn't believe any boxer would take a dive for money.''
* FatSlob: Can be heard loudly eating and belching just prior to his first broadcast, advocates installing a urinal trough in front of each row of seats at stadiums, and sharts himself in the intro to his second broadcast.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Thinks he knows a lot about sports when he does not actually know much about it.
* LargeHam: He never stops sounding boisterous and exuberant, though it doesn't hide how ignorant he really is.
* MotorMouth: He pretty much talks non-stop throughout the program, and it's indicated that he might be on cocaine, judging by the sniffing sounds that can be heard during his second broadcast.
* PottyFailure: Already farting noisily in the background of the intro to his second broadcast, the opening music is interrupted by him loudly proclaiming that he might have just shit his pants.
* StimulantSpeedtalk: It's heavily implied that he's managing this due to cocaine, as he can be heard letting out a few conspicuously loud sniffs while one of his more talkative callers rambles on in the background. For good measure, he has a tendency to go off on tangents that have very little to do with sport.

!!!Maurice
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AndyDick

The slightly demented and botany-obsessed host of the show "Gardening With Maurice".
* CampGay: Extremely flamboyant and energetic, not to mention very open about being gay - the "Maurice Mansion" being reportedly the site of many an orgy. Combined with RealMenWearPink, as he loves gardening.
* CaringGardener: Subverted. He's very into gardening, but he's also extremely aggressive, explosively volatile, fascinated with carnivorous plants, and in the habit of making some rather bizarre suggestions to callers - including replacing an entire lawn with astroturf so that focus can be given to the actual garden.
* EveryoneHasStandards: He's genuinely disgusted to hear that one caller has taken to putting pesticide in his sprinklers, getting several of his kids killed in the process. Notably, this is one of the few points in the show when Maurice [[TranquilFury lowers his voice to a whisper]].
* IncomingHam: The first of his previews advertise his hamminess well in advance.
-->'''Maurice:''' THEN WHY DON'T YOU JUST BUY YOUR VEGETABLES AT THE GROCERY STORE THEN, YOU SYCOPHANT? ''God,'' I don't understand people...
-->'''Caller:''' You go to hell!
-->'''Maurice:''' WELL SCREW YOU TOO, ''MOM!'' See if you're ever on the show again.
* {{Jerkass}}: Prone to belittling callers that displease him and as the above quote demonstrates, he's not above getting into full-blown shouting matches.
* LargeHam: On top of being very camp, he's also prone to getting loud and dramatic, especially when it comes to describing his favorite plants.
* NightmareFetishist: He sounds very interested when one of his callers mentions his experiments with carnivorous plants, and when the caller confirms that he's been feeding people to the plants, Maurice openly congratulates him.
* SitcomArchnemesis: He's regularly pestered by a caller asking about "tubers and root vegetables," to the point of grumbling "[[OhNoNotAgain God, not you again]]" when he next phones in. Maurice is in the habit of not only threatening him, but also directs him to a calendar featuring naked photos of Maurice while "[[RagingStiffie blossomiing]]"... and apparently, this bewildering relationship continues for the next ten years, as the caller can be heard on Chatterbox FM in Liberty City, pestering Lazlow about tubers and claiming that Maurice lied about making an impossible-sounding hybrid plant.
* UnusualEuphemism: "Blossoming," apparently used to describe getting an erection.

!!!James Pedeaston
->'''Voiced by:''' Sam Tsoutsouvas

Host of "The Wild Traveler," obsessed with travel and experiencing foreign cultures... and heavily implied to be a ''little'' too into sex tourism.

* BondageIsBad: The charity website in ''GTA IV'' implies that he likes keeping his victims on leashes when they're not in service.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Callous child molester though he may be, Pedeaston is genuinely disgusted by classism and racial bigotry, restricting some of his harshest barbs to a woman complaining about having to rub elbows with poor people.
-->[[SarcasmMode Well, that sounds lovely]]. With people like you, it's no wonder we don't bother curing cancer.
* FunctionalAddict: Quite lucid and intelligent despite regular opium binges and occasionally spending days coked out of his mind on visits to South America.
* GentlemanSnarker: Styles himself as a gentleman adventurer and has the witty repartee to match.
* HatedByAll: Implied. His pedophilia becomes so evident in his second broadcast that his show receives no calls for roughly half the program, and the Announcer indicates that the program has received a Cease And Desist letter. Later, after Pedeaston finally gets arrested, a charity website is set up to raise money for his bail... and only raises twenty-three dollars out of a hundred thousand.
* TheHedonist: Of an extremely abhorrent kind, as he enjoys touring impoverished regions for the sake of cheap drugs and sex with minors, some of whom are encouraged to pose for photos in exchange for money, while others he hopes to entice into "an exotic life of degeneracy and narcotics as my houseboy."
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: Audience disgust aside, he apparently manages to avoid getting arrested by government agents during ''San Andreas.'' However, by the events of ''GTA IV,'' his illegal activities have finally caught up with him, resulting in him being arrested in Bali, being tried for child molestation, found guilty, and going to prison. He still appears to have a star on the Vinewood boulevard in ''GTA V'', but that's it.
* LackOfEmpathy: Halfway through his second broadcast, his only caller is a man about to commit suicide by jumping from a cliff. Pedeaston is of zero help to the man, advising him to jump rather than stay in Verdant Bluffs, and when the despairing caller remarks that he wants to go to hell, Pedeaston replies, "Me too! Buy a refrigerator magnet when you get there!"
* MeaningfulName: His last name seems to be a play on "pederast."
* NoodleIncident: Most of his overseas exploits are mercifully only alluded to in quick snippets. For example, after one caller remarks in awe at the fact that Pedeaston's photograph is still on display at the airport customs booth in the Philippines, he elusively remarks that he "had a great time" in Manilla.
* OrgyOfEvidence: Pedeaston's travel journal apparently contains a ''lot'' of information on his illegal activities, including photographs of minors enticed into prostitution and a detailed account of his relationship with Avringar, a young man he tried to make his house boy. His producer is apparently in the habit of stealing pages from it and sending them to FBI agents, much to Pedeaston's irritation.
* SayingTooMuch: During his attempt to read pages from his travel journal, Pedeaston finds too late that his producer has been stealing pages from it, resulting in him accidentally narrating the fact that he was carrying on an illegal relationship with a young man in Sri Lanka - ''three times in a row.''
* SuddenlyShouting: Pedeaston gets uncharacteristically loud when the page he was trying to read from his travel journal turns up missing.
-->"Avringar took me deep into jungle... and there we took part in an ancient rite of passage for adolescents on the cusp of adulthood: we hunted each other in game, very similar to the ancient games of kiss-chase I used to pl..." ''' ''[[BigNo NO!]]'' ''' Wrong page...
-->"Avringar has left me. I'm broken. I thought I meant something, but it seems he would rather become a fisherman than follow me in an exotic life of degeneracy and narcotics as my house boy. I hate myself. Why does this keep happening to me?" ''' ''HELL!'' ''' WRONG BIT ''AGAIN!'' Where's the page about watching the elephants mate and it being really disturbing and making me slightly jealous - FOR BOTH PARTIES?! ''HEY!'' HAS SOMEONE BEEN STEALING PAGES OUT OF MY JOURNAL?
* TranquilFury: Normally pretty tolerant of some of his more unpleasant callers, but when a woman voices some pretty racist and classist opinions, his tone immediately turns extremely cold.

The paranoid DJ of East Coast Hip-Hop radio station Playback FM.

----
* AdamWesting: An opinionated conspiracy theorist played by Chuck D, known for his radical lyrics.
* ConspiracyTheorist
* CelebrityParadox: "Rebel Without A Pause" plays on his station.
* HatedByAll: Almost every in-between banter has listeners complaining about his self-righteous on-air rants. Even the otherwise good-natured Julio G of Radio Los Santos had something to say about him.
-->'''Julio G:''' "They have some cool records, thats cool. But the DJ's whack, let's just face it, he's whack man!"

The calm and collected DJ of Radio Los Santos, the West Coast gangster rap radio station.

----
* AsHimself
* ChickMagnet: The station idents are made up of phone calls from fans of the show. [[ArousedByTheirVoice Most of the female callers seem to really like Julio G]], [[PeripheryDemographic to the point that they seem to listen to Radio Los Santos just for him]].
* DigitalPiracyIsOkay: He forgets to get a radio edit of [[Music/TupacShakur "I Don't Give A Fuck"]], but plays it anyway, accepting the fines. As he puts it...
-->"Tupac doesn't give a fuck, and I don't give a fuck either".
* OnlySaneMan: He encourages the gangs of Los Santos to find better ways to solve problems and sees GangstaRap as a form of escape. This makes him one of the saner guys in the entire series, especially when compared to the other [=DJs=] in the game. [[spoiler:During the riots he even expresses his more caring side, advising people to keep out of the streets.]]
-->"You people gotta learn the differences between a rapper and a gangster; a rapper is someone who talks a lot and gets paid a lot of money for it, but don't actually run around with a gun. A gangster is a guy with a gun who kills people and spends most of his adult life in prison. They ain't the same thing, yo, no matter what ''anybody'' says."
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Despite the music he works with, he rarely swears on the show and is a NiceGuy overall, which lets [[PrecisionFStrike his reaction]] to [[spoiler:the riots show just how serious the situation has gotten]].
-->"[[spoiler:There's a lot of morons out here really fucking shit up, so I gotta tell y'all, this ain't cool. Chill the fuck out]]".

* {{Afrofuturism}}: As you'd expect from a character voiced by the originator of P-funk.
* CelebrityParadox: Airs "Loopzilla" on the station. Plus, he quotes lines from Parliament-Funkadelic, a music ensemble formed by George Clinton himself.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Very much so, let alone his voice actor being a drug addict. Even one of his callers called him out on his erratic behaviour.
* DiscoDan: His funky attitude is very much at odds with the macho gangsta image and grungy apathy of the 90s.
* {{Keet}}: Jolly, always relaxed, loves to party and makes wisecracks every time.

The rebellious host of the AlternativeRock station Radio X.

----
* {{Goth}}: Obsessed with death, fire and coughing blood.
* {{Hipster}}: She hates the previous generation and [[ItsPopularNowItSucks sees alternative bands not being able to reach a wide market as a good thing]].
* OnlyOneName: She says she can't even remember her last name.
* ThePigPen: A caller basically claims that she dresses like a hobo and the teeth that she still has were blackened by her cigarette smoking. She takes it as a compliment. She also mentions not bathing in two weeks due to getting her tattoos on her armpits.
* ReallyGetsAround: She claims to have slept with Axl Rose and the whole Danzig line-up. She also dedicates "Movin' on Up" by Primal Scream to "the guy I did behind Cluckin' Bell last night".
* SmallNameBigEgo: Even by the standards of the [=DJs=] in the game she is particularly full of herself.
* TheSociopath: ''Oh yes''. In contrast to the concern shown by others on the dial, she openly celebrates the [[spoiler:riots after Tenpenny's acquittal]], considering it the "end of the world revolution", and saying that she will personally go and smash people's windows.
* SpoiledBrat: Never stops whining despite coming from a rich family and having a trust fund.

-->'''Mary-Beth:''' Lil' bastards! Stay outta my garden! Mary-Beth Maybell knows how to get medieval!
* BestialityIsDepraved: Not her, but one heist went wrong when she found her-then husband in bed with the getaway horse.
* DeepSouth: Has the accent and mannerisms of a stereotypical southern hick.
* FatAndProud: Says this word for word on her station. She's overweight and just doesn't give a damn.
* {{Gasshole}}: She typically plays the harmonica while the instrument is in her pants. No points guessing where the music is coming from.
* GoldDigger: Has an interest in old men with "weak hearts and a lot of life insurance".
* ImAHumanitarian: She strongly implies she's eaten humans before.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Part of the reason she has so many children is because the government gives her more money with each one.
* ReallyGetsAround: Says it was nice of K-ROSE to put a saddle instead of a seat, since she's more at home with her legs splayed out.
* SerialKiller: Has killed all six of her husbands for their money and frequently talks about body and evidence disposal.
* SerialSpouse: She has had six husbands (all of which have ended up dead) and nine children. Her six husbands are implied to be in the body bags found in the infamous mass grave EasterEgg.
* SophisticatedAsHell:
** Despite being a stereotypical vulgar redneck, she sometimes makes references to high literature, such as ''Literature/TheDivineComedy'' and ''Literature/{{Beowulf}}''.
** Her mother as well it seems, whom Mary-Beth quotes during "Queen of Hearts".

----
* BuccaneerBroadcaster: It's implied that he's a pirate broadcaster. Not that it feels like one, due to the game still playing commercials and news broadcasts on the station.
* CloudCuckoolander: He is apparently on drugs while on air. It shows.
->"This is for all the travellers out there. All the people journeying through life, trying to understand why they take so much space cake. ''You thought it was regular cake!''"
* GratuitousGerman: Ja!

* CastingGag: Mentions having tried out for Music/BellBivDeVoe but didn't make it due to a disagreement with the name.
* CelebrityParadox: "[[Music/BellBivDeVoe Poison]]" plays on the station, as does "[[Music/BoyzIIMen Motownphilly]]", a song he contributes a pair of rap interludes to.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As misogynistic as he might be, he does not condone pedophilia, showing disgust when a caller attempts to request a song for a girl he has a crush on... that girl being one of his underage students.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Wants to be a big Vinewood star, and acts like he's one despite having little luck on that front.

->'''Voiced by:''' Trish Suhr

Hostess of ''Bless Your Heart'', a program that shares Southern cooking recipes, lifestyle-affirming far-right politics, and tips on creative use of coupons.

----
* [[AmbiguouslyBrown Ambiguously Orange]]: Her and her producer, but it's a very [[BlatantLies ''natural'']] shade of orange.
* CatchPhrase: "[[TitleDrop Bless your heart(s)!]]", repeated ''ad nauseam'', at least thirty or forty times within a typical episode.
* ComfortFood: Insists that grotesquely unhealthy fried food is actually healthy, and it's really [[InsaneTrollLogic those "nutri-Nazis" stressing people out about proper diets that causes heart disease]].
* DeepFriedWhatever: Candy bars, butter sticks, cigarettes, onions, hairspray, pets... Bobbi will try them all. She's even mentioned deep-frying Sprunk in the past.
* DeepSouth: Very much a southern stereotype. Redneck accent? Check. Incredibly unhealthy food? Check. Virulently racist? Check.
* EnforcedPlug: A lot of conversations with her producer Ricky serve only to advertise Bobbi's newest cooking utensil or home spray tan.
* MeaningfulName: "Bless Your Heart" is a popular Southern StealthInsult, often delivered condescendingly and commonly used to imply that the recipient is a bit dim-witted and slow, a good indication of the intellects at work among Bobbi's fans.
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Describes cheerfully how, because of her anti-vaccine stance, one of her stepchildren died in agony from polio at the age of seven. She then [[VikingFuneral disposed of his corpse in a huge bonfire in the backyard]], hosted ''[[RefugeInAudacity a family barbecue over his ashes]]'', and -- per his dying wishes -- named a casserole after him, calling it "Cripple's Crockpot".
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Of Paula Deen, Georgia-born celebrity chef, complete with references to controversies related to her alleged racism. On a lesser note, she's a general parody of the celebrities who endorse the anti-vaccination movement.
* NutritionalNightmare: Every single dish.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: She's been accused of saying "hurtful things, y'all".
-->"I don't judge people! ...Well, not ''white'' people."
* SweetHomeAlabama: Desperately tries to invoke this trope, though between her thinly-veiled racism and Tea Party-esque political stance she belongs squarely to the DeepSouth camp.
* RealMenEatMeat: The descriptions of some of her recipes are absolutely nauseating, even by the standards of dedicated meat lovers.

!!!!'''Samantha Muldoon'''
-->'''Voiced by:''' Melissa van der Schyff

One of the three guests on ''Bless Your Heart''. She is a famous pop singer who has turned to a conservative Christian route with her new country song "I Like Things Just The Way They Are". She appeared in ''Grand Theft Auto IV'' previously in some news articles.

----
* BlatantLies: During the show, Bobby asks her about a magazine telling her that she tried to commit suicide and had a fling with a foreigner. She tries claiming both as accidents and ''not'' in any way related to a career breakdown or a split up.
* BigScrewedUpFamily: She adopts kids from several Third World countries, likely to increase her status symbol, yet news reports claims she keeps them away from her because she cannot stand them, and apparently sent one home. In addition, Samantha also has suicidal tendencies and a stressful breakup.
* CreatorBreakdown: InUniverse - Going through the early stages of one during ''Grand Theft Auto V''.
* DeepSouth: What Samantha is trying to invoke in her music route.
* MoneyDearBoy: InUniverse - It's very obvious that her new country route was done as a way to try make her much more relevant.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: A parody of Music/{{Madonna}}. She even mentions trying to switch to Kabbalah.
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Her obviously-fake country accent slips slightly during the show.

!!!'''Beyond Insemination'''
!!!!'''Duane Earl'''
->"I'm Duane Earl and you're not."
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DannyMcBride

Animal husbandry expert, rodeo champion, and host of ''Beyond Insemination'', a show that has far more to do with Earl's own opinions of what constitutes a real man (i.e., himself) than any sort of farming advice.

----
* AntiRoleModel: Recalls his days as a grade-school soccer coach teaching his students to do anything to win, from taking steroids to gambling to deliberately injuring opponents.
* BigFancyHouse: Duane's description of his estate (including an enormous fish tank in his bedroom), which somewhat negates his claims that he's still just a humble country boy.
* ComedicSociopathy: Tells Mike, one of his callers, to drown his wife unless she allows their son to play football, so the family can earn enough money for Mike to buy himself a bass boat.
* DeepSouth: A macho example compared to the feminine Bobby June.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Appears in the "My Blaine County" commercial, which was released on the Rockstar website as part of the countdown to the game's release.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Bestiality is a no-no for him.
-->"Goddammit. You are sitting there with a hot laptop on your sweaty thighs doing image search for heifers, aren't you? Jesus... ''I'm tired of you sickos calling up and ruining my otherwise flawless broadcasting flow!''"
* {{Expy}}: His general scummy-and-proud-of-it demeanor, especially the anecdotes of his coaching days, make him very similar to [=McBride's=] much more well-known character, [[Series/EastboundAndDown Kenny Powers]].

* DeadpanSnarker: Frequently.
* {{Jerkass}}: Constantly feuds and fights with Lazlow on the air.

* BerserkButton: When Cheryl reveals she sees giving to public radio as being pointless and patronising; "You have to give yourself and your money to public radio, you understand? Do I have to break this down to you, woman? Shut your mouth! That's public radio you're talking about. I am for profit, but many are not. You are barely talking on the show! How am I supposed to teach you the ways of broadcasting, the ways and means, what I means?"
* CatchPhrase: "Ommmmm"
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: The man is '''obsessed''' with duality.
* DisappearedDad: He admits that the only reason he got into talk radio is so that he could find his dad. In the next gen versions of the game, he does end up finding him.

* InsaneTrollLogic: "When you put sense and nonsense together, what the hell do you got? You got some bullshit going on in your mind!"
* {{Jerkass}}: He constantly belittles everyone around him. One of the people calling in does so to give him shit for him wanting to institute mandatory vegan diets and forcing everyone slightly bigger than him to get gastro-band surgery.
